Grey / black orb with odd appendages protruding

My wife and I had been traveling south on Main Street in Yreka, CA and were waiting at the traffic light to turn left onto Oberlin Road. My wife noticed the object when it came into view from behind an auto parts store which was to her right (west). She saw it move upward at a 45 degree angle and then began moving at a constant speed and altitude. Initially, it was moving in a southern direction, but changed and headed in a mostly southeastern direction. The object was semi-spherical in shape and appeared to have an irregular, mottled surface, the color of which was a mixture of black and gray. The object appeared to have short appendages that were spaced randomly from its surface. At first I thought the appendages were part of a truss-type tail boom of a helicopter and that I would get a better view of it as it continued southeast. However, as it moved from right to left, I could determine that the object’s appendages were not part of a helicopter. I know it wasn't an airplane, helicopter, balloon or drone (quadcopter). I'm familiar with aircraft and drones as I fly radio-controlled aircraft regularly.

Looked like the stars were disappearing and not returning like Pac Man

I was drawn to look into the sky, northwest of my location and I saw a large dark spot in the sky and as it moved east ALL of the stars started disappearing as this thing passed. It was as if it was either close to the ground or just massive. There were no lights on, just a big black mass.

UFO sighting in Yreka, California, during 4th of July fireworks display. (07/04/2017)

Last night (07/04/2017) at exactly 9:51 p.m., myself and four of my friends witnessed a UFO sighting in the southern sky south of Yreka, California, during the fireworks display.

At first, it was thought to be a high-flying jet liner, but then it stopped and didn’t move. It was a neon green object that appeared to be round, but was to far away to discern its exact shape. After watching it for a minute or two, it began to make unnatural maneuvers un-like anything any of us had ever seen before (Quick turns, and reversals of direction), then came back to its former spot and was stationary. It made these sorts of maneuvers three times during the fireworks display.

After the last maneuver, the object changed color, from green, to white and red. It was about the size of the largest visible star, and seemed to be flying in the upper atmosphere at about a 45-degree angle from where we stood. We commented to each other that it was probably watching the fireworks displays in Yreka and Lake Siskiyou (a lake immediately west of Mt. Shasta).

About 30 seconds after the Grand Finale (10:10 p.m.) the object turned a bright red. It began moving slowly in a northwestward direction and we lost view of it as it passed behind a tree. Emerging from the other side of the tree, the glowing red object began to pick up speed, and made an abrupt turn westward. It then darted from that position (still about a 45-degree angle), and in about two or three seconds disappeared over the mountains on the horizon. This occurred about 10:12 p.m.

It was too fast and too high in the atmosphere to have been a drone. When it sped west over the horizon, it was at super-sonic speed, yet did not have a tail, or light trail behind it like meteors have.

I contribute this in hopes that others may also have saw it, and captured it on their cell-phone cam. It was so distracting, we paid more attention to it than we did the fireworks show. If it caught our attention that much, others must have surely witnessed it also. I’m anxious to see if it makes the newspapers or local news channels.

It was a life changing experience.

Light colored jet craft bulky,long cigar shape with no wings visible traveling at high speed at one to two miles high.

One presumed drone aircraft jet proceeded south east at altitude of approx. 2 miles.

I was only witness from location in mountains of east central Yreka.

Angle of sighting from vantage point made craft to appear at same angle of Mt. Shasta.

Craft appeared to be large body almost bulky fat but long cigar like cargo ship but with no wings visible. Clear sky, no clouds, no vapor trails but possibly some haze that completely obscured very thin wings if any. Other visual and audible clue such as estimated altitude made me expect to see wings but there were absolutely no wings or tails visible No other aircraft visible but sound of jet was faint but distinct.

Traveling faster than the sound because of lag time behind visible craft.

Could have been ventriloquist effect since area is corridor for jets high up.

Traveling at high rate of speed.

Appeared to be a light weight glider or dirigible.

Profile was high and long but not clear how deep fuselage was hence reminded me of pictures of Predator drones but more regular cigar-shaped.

When I spotted it, it seemed to recognize I was watching and moved away from me veering slightly to south each as if bumped by wind only momentarily.

Moved rapidly out of sight.

Slightly white-aluminum color possible metallic. Hard to tell relative size because of unknown altitude, but impression was that it was large-bodied but very high up.

Impression was that of a jet-powered Remotely Piloted Vehicle (drone) or piloted glider or lightweight craft with very long, thin wings that were not visible because of altitude. General impression was confusing somewhat because of conflicting phenomena. But my mind was clear and I was well-rested in broad daylight without stressful circumstances.

The UFO hovered, not moving, canging color and was 10+ times brighter than any star.

At 4:10 AM this morning, for the first time in my life, I saw an unidentifiable object in the sky. My boyfriend woke me up to witness what he saw as he walked the dogs early in the morning. It was multi color, extremely bright hovering (not moving) towards the south 0f Yreka ... towards Mt Shasta. The colors were changing. After a while, it had lightening type rays below it (like jellyfish tenticles) then showed a bright ring shape with haze. The colors were bright red, blue, white - changing often.

It was too far away to determine any shape.

Two very large, very bright lights arcing across the horizon in succession...

At about 22:41 I was looking westward from my car on a street in Yreka. Above the hill that borders the town to the west I saw an extrememly bright spherical object travel very rapidly across the sky in a gentle arc, and disappear behind that hill. The object appeared to be about half the size of my fist when held out at arms length, and was surrounded by a larger haze, making the exact determination of the shape difficult. Shortly after seeing this, I yelled to two of my friends who were about 10 yards away. They had not seen the object, but as I was telling them to look to the west, the three of us saw the event repeat itself, nearly exactly the same as before. The dual nature of this event makes me suspicious of what I would have otherwise regarded as a rather spectacular meteorite...

This object was in size very large ,shaped like a diamond the color was like somthing white very white the speed it traveled at was so fast ,i know we have nothing on this planet that fast, my sitting was very clear.it was coming from the east to the west ,south of yreka,ca. after i seen it i gust said wow.my vision was very clear it was truly somthing from another planet.

Low flying large darkened triangle with no sound seen by nine policemen

I was a police officer in my small town. A group of us from the same Department were on a recreational basketball team that played in the evenings. As we stood in the parking lot on a very cold night, talking, all 9 of us saw: Approaching from the South, an area of sky that was dark, meaning the stars were covered by an object. It was low in the sky, moving very slowly. As it came closer we could all see it was a huge triangular shaped object, wider than it was long, similar to a B-2 bomber, but much larger. I estimate it was at least 100 yards from "wing" tip to "wing" tip, and about 25 yards long. There was no light of any type, just the obvious blotting out of the night sky, which was full of stars in our small town.

As it came directly overhead, and slightly East of our location, the most blatant thing that stood out was the lack of any sound from the object. I estimate its altitude at 500-1000 ft. Even as it slowly passed, and continued north, there was no sound at all, and no lights. While we had barely said a word while it was in sight, we all started talking about it, comparing details. We all agreed that, due to the very slow speed, and lack of sound at its low height, that it was not an aircraft. (Our small town was on Victor 32, an airliner "freeway" from California to Seattle, and we had all seen and heard a lot of aircraft before.) As we were all cops, we more or less agreed to not talk about, for fear of being ridiculed.
