Three lights in triangle formation fell like a shooting star, leveled off like a fighter jet, and cruised over the ocean, disapperaing.

Partner and I were facing about West, sitting on patio chairs while laying back and looking at the stars. High and to our right (about to our North) I thought we saw what started to look like just another shooting star, but the “shooting star” quickly became apparent as being three lights in a rigid triangle formation as they approached. The craft “flared,” like a jet plane would when making course correction to slow its decent and it leveled off. There was no sound, but the lights glowed brightly (a bright, yellowish white glow) as if to be catching the friction from the maneuver. I’m confident the space between these lights was blocking stars behind it, so while it was very dark one could still see that it was a rather large, triangle-shaped aerial craft. After the craft slowed its descent it continued course to the West and over the ocean. As it cruised away the glow from the three lights faded and we lost sight of the object. The whole sighting lasted less than ten seconds, but my partner saw the exact same thing and confirmed the description and agreed it was a craft of some kind.

It’s hard to gauge the size of the object because of the darkness and the lack of reference (especially the lack of any sound), but it was not small—certainly not a drone or even fighter jet sized. It could have been a triangle that had edges as small as -20ft, or they could have been as large as ~80ft. The lack of sound suggests it was higher in elevation, making the object much larger. But it seemed to level off only a few thousand feet up (about propeller plane/helicopter altitudes) making one think it could have been smaller and just more stealthy. I’d guess it to be in between those previous estimates, with a triangle of edges about 30 feet in length—kind of like the size of a mobile home. After internet search it was a pretty classic “black triangle UFO”.

We didn’t share this sighting with anyone at the time, but upon recently talking with a friend to mentioned the unexplained lights and sightings to the South in San Diego shortly after this, it could possibly be connected.

Bright orange fireball in Dana Point, CA, chased by jets.

At 0100 today, 01/24/18, a bright orb appeared in the sky and immediately disappeared. Roughly 30 seconds later, it reappeared in the same spot and maintained its position before fading away again.

Another 30 seconds went by and it was down the coast towards Laguna Beach and moving at an accelerated speed and arcing upwards.

Immediately after it disappeared for the final time, helicopters and jets were seen in the night sky where it originally appeared.

two bright orbs launched over sea from house overlooking Ocean Institute in Dana Point.

Someone shot or launched two rockets or orbs from a house over looking the ocean institute in Dana Point north of Doheny. From this house on top of the cliffs overlooking the parking lot there was a noise and smoke then a flying object flew slowily out to sea very high in the sky. This object had only two beacons of light pointing back behind it at the house and smoke it left as it flew over the ocean. Another object followed it quite a ways behind it then went more north over the ocean. It was a glowing orb more orange and not as bright. It grew dimer and fell as the other orb continued at a slightly more southern angle and flew over the sea and disappeared into the atmosphere.

Red light stops in mid air then shoots straight up at a speed of thousands of miles per hour.

I was sitting outside in the backyard in the open. I was talking on the phone and looking up in distance I see a red light, it was only like a dot in the sky but it was not flashing. I figured it was an airplane because it was going about as fast as a regular airplane would go. So, didn't pay too much attention until about a few minutes later when I looked up again to see the UFO stopping in mid air. I almost could not believe what I was seeing. There is no plane I know of that just stops in mid air. That lasted for another minute or two and then, unexpectedly the UFO shot straight up at a speed of thousands of miles per hour. I haven't really told anyone because I know how most people think. More people will think I am making this up than not. I am convinced that this has been happening for a very long time and the Truth MUST be told.

A bright orange / red ufo was spotted coming up the coast from San Clemente towards Dana Point CA

My wife and I had just returned from dinner to our room at the Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa, and walked out on the balcony, facing the ocean. Looking south towards San Clemente, we saw a bright orange/, red roundish ball of shimmering light coming up the coast, coming directly towards us, but slightly moving left to right and very slowly at the same time.

The elevation was around 2,000 feet and we guessed the size of it was about the same as a large helicopter although it was clearly not a helicopter. It made no noise as it approached us and just as it was almost overhead, it started going nearly straight up and over the ocean with increasing speed until it got smaller and smaller. At this point we could no longer see it.

I am an avid aviation enthusiast and have been to countless airshows, military and private, and have never seen anything like this.

Pulsating Fireball over Dana Point

My boyfriend and I were sitting on our balcony at a hotel in Dana Point. We were facing Northwest when we noticed a red glowing light rising up. I have witnessed these things many times and I was excited to have him witness it as well. He is NOT a believer. He always tries o debunk what I see by saying it was Chinese lanterns or a plane. He is now baffled by it, but I know for a fact we witness a red fireball. It was bright red. We were first noticed the fireball when it was the size of a tiny red star. Then all of a sudden It grew bigger and then smaller as it was rising. This thing was huge in the distance. It grew to the size of a basketball. Then would reduce to the size of star all while glowing and floating. Then after about a minute, it shrank again and completely vanish.

My boyfriend of course was in disbelief trying to debunk it, but what sealed the deal was the helicopter to followed that circled for a good 15 minutes after it disappe! ared.

NOTE: We have not heard or seen one helicopter all night or ll day for that matter.

Multiple Orbs seen heading south along pacific ocean.

At approximately 10:15pm on August 23, 2014, my husband and I were docking our sailboat in Dana Point Harbor; our boat slips faces west towards the ocean. A friend of ours walked up and we were chatting for a bit and then he noticed something in the sky and pointed upward (west direction) and asked: "What is that?" We immediately looked up and saw approximately 25-30 orbs glowing white/orange orbs flying south along the coast. They were not planes or Chinese lanterns! Some of the orbs were darting around (going left and right), but still heading south. Then suddenly, one orb darted up towards the sky. It looked like a shooting star, but it was backwards, since it shot up towards the starts. Seconds later a second orb shot out in the same direction. The remaining orbs continued south and then split into two directions and alleviated into the sky so high they looked like stars in the distance. A few seconds later, a plane flew by. It was at the exact same elevation as the orbs originally were.

We were so flabbergasted and my husband immediately started shouting out to other boaters if they saw what we did. My husband found another witness who was also astonished and could not account for what had transpired. My husband asked for his name and number, but he refused.

Around 11:50 my friend send me a snapchat of some weird light.

I checked outside and I seen this bright yellow light,

The yellow orangish light would turn into a circle, and somehow to like a thin rectangle light .

After like 6 mind the light disappeared and you couldn't see anything anymore.

Black object flew around coastal cloud, then flew into the cloud, cloud dissipated 20 min. later.

While on patrol on the Dana Point Headlands, I noted what I thought was a large bird (Turkey Vulture) flying in the sky .

It was black and the shape (round) was not correct for a bird. The object was circular.

I next noted the object traveled near a round-shaped "rain" cloud.

The object then disappeared into the cloud. Birds do not do that.

I waited for the object to re-appear on the other side of the cloud as this was not a large cloud, but it never did.

I continued to wait and watch but never saw the object again.

I noted after about 15 minutes that the cloud was shrinking almost in on itself.

After 20 minutes, the cloud was completely gone.

The direction I was looking was to the South toward the city of San Clemente, but also it could have been over the restricted airspace of Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Base, which is very close.

I thought this was very odd to say the least.

Second Sighting of orange lights over OC

The first time I saw these lights was on 8/12/13 when I was on a run by my house in Dana Point. I then saw the EXACT same thing tonight (8/23/13) when I was on my patio.

Here is what both events consisted of...

There were a string of orange lights over the ocean traveling south from Laguna Beach towards Dana Point. The lights were bright at first, a dark orange, definitely not “whitish” like stars or aircraft lights and moved slowly, almost gliding in a non-unison formation. It sort of resembled someone letting go of balloons with candles in them. The first time I saw them I actually thought maybe it was some sort of air balloon thing. They were silent and became dimmer as they appeared to come closer, but that’s assuming they were traveling horizontally along the coast. They just one by one slowly disappeared one by one, not in any particular order.

Large erratically moving object over Dana Point, CA

Spotted a large bright light out my driver’s side window while heading out of Dana Point, Ca, towards Interstate 5 on ramps. It seemed to be turning towards me at the time and was at about my 10 o'clock. The light it was emanating was reminiscent of the light from Venus in early morning. My first reaction was that it was unusual but then I considered the possibility that it was a helicopter or airplane. It’s movements changed from stationary to large dramatic circular motions. The light would also change from small (appeared to be 3 small lights) to one big wide and much brighter light. I tried to find a good place to stop but could not so I hoped on the 5 north and pulled off on the next exit. I watched it in my rear view mirror the whole time. I pulled to the end of a dead end street and attempted to get some video of the object. There was another person parked not far from where I stopped. I watched it continue to bounce and dance in strange patterns with its ever changing brightness and altitude. I filmed with my camera phone zoomed in as far as it could go. Unfortunately it does freeze several times but the movement is still apparent. I was approximately 1 mile north of where I first spotted it. As I was heading back to my car the other car that was parked pulled up and the gentleman had a video camera. He addressed me by saying, “ what the hell is that thing?” I told him I didn't know but that I thought it almost looked like a kite with lights attached. He pointed out that it was really large as it was clearly viewable from over a mile away. He said he was heading south to attempt to get a better view. I did the same and got on the 5 south back towards Dana Point. I watched it carefully and its movement became incredibly dramatic with major altitude and brightness shifts. It made a sudden drop in altitude and I lost sight of it behind a concrete wall on the freeway just before I was exiting. It did not reappear.

Two Bright Yellow/Gold Lights.

My boyfriend saw them first then I saw them. He had me stop the car. When we saw them we got out of the car and we were just staring at them and trying to figure out what they were. There were two really big like the size of a spot light they were bright yellow/gold lights flickering. One was on top of the other. The bottom one was a bit off set from the top one. They were not moving at at all. The top light started to slowly fade. A few seconds later the bottom one faded out too. The both just faded into the dark sky.

Faint orange orb moving across sky

I went outside to smoke like i do every night, it was one of the first clear nights in awile (because of june gloom/coastal eddie). Not a minute after sitting there viewing the sky, a faint orange sphere which appeared to be about a 1/4" in diameter (with no visual aids...telescope, binoculars) moved from a north/east to south/west direction. It took about 10 seconds to move across the whole skyline. No sound was heard, and the orange glow almost seemed like the same glow from heated metal I've seen meteor showers & falling stars, but this was slower then that. Also I see and hear planes & choppers all the time (on there way to and from John Wayne airport)which move way slower then this objectt, not to mention I see military craft from Camp Penalton and hear bombing a San Clemente Island (or visa versa)all the time.

I've never seen anything move acrosss the sky like that before. It was so amazing I plan to keep an eye out more often and update.

I sent a message one week ago and this is really from someone I know who also says she saw the same foo fighter in the sky over Dana Point jus before I saw one over San Clemente. She say the same thing occured at just about the same time. She saw the same Orange ball but moving south and alone. I think it is interesting that a few days later a similar sighting was seen in Mexico. If trends continue, Brazil should get some new sightings very soon. Please, check it out. I think there is a pattern to these things. I could be wrong but maybe now there is a pattern to them as far as they are watching. Maybe you can have a rough estimate as to where they show up next.Please understand that I am a multiple college degree person and I do know the difference between objects. I was once on highway 395 and in a second I knew a plane was a steath bomber. While I can't explain what I saw at times, it was not from here. I am one more testimony and for the doubtful, I can only say keep watching the skies. You may, if lucky, experience something you cannot explain. I consider it a gift.

01:15 06/21/08 observed disk shape craft over ocean in Dana Point / Laguna Beach area

at approximatly 01:15 on 06/21/08 seen off shore in Dana Point, Laguna Beach area a disk shaped object moving back and forth like it was on a pendulam. When the bottom of the object faced us it had blue lights around it with a red light in the middle. It moved quickly back and fourth like it was swinging in the air. Very large and extremly bright when the bottom faced us but barley lite when viewing the side. It moved back and fourth in an inverted arc and it either went below the building out of view or disappeared. I have never seen anything like it before so I have to call it a UFO. I nor my partner could identify it as a plane or craft that we have ever seen. I work part time as security at a very upscale resort and was on the job when I saw it. I am also a bank manager as my full time job and a college student.

My description is the most ultra silver color that you can ever imagine, silver as being. The brighest of silver ever. The brightest thing I've ever seen in the sky other than the sun appeared from the ocean two blocks to my house and I witnessed it at 9 o'clock in the sky at it's closest to me where it's size was the diameter of the sun. Then, it moved to 11 o'clock in the sky, straight in front of me and backed away and stayed in the same place for approx. 20 minutes as a bright star in a clear blue non-cloudy sky over the ocean. While clearly other planes that I see every day are bieng vectored to John Wayne airport, that were in the sky at the time. This was clearly the most beautiful silver color aircraft I have ever seen. I can go on and on, but I think that's enough. Words can't explain it, seeing is believing. I've also witnessed 20 years ago some other lights in the sky in Illinois.

As I looked far into the sunset I saw two black crosses coming out of the horizon towards me. I thought they were ballooons at first until I noticed how fast they were coming.

I then noticed two others coming towards the coastline.

I saw a triangular shaped object glide through the sky, stall for a split second and then shoot off at a high rate of speed.

I went outside to see three stealth fighters following each other making a larger circular pattern of about six miles over southern Orange County (about 3thousand feet high. After the fourth pass three of us looked straight up and saw a triangular shaped object crossing the sky heading northwest away from the counter clockwise circling of the stealth fighters. It was much higher, about 5-10 thousand feet. It was not triangular like the stealth planes. It looked like an equilateral triangle. You could see the outline of it but when you looked to the center of it, it looked transparent as if you were seeing the dark sky above it. In each corner there was a dim white light much like the dots on a domino. It when across the sky for a few seconds and then seemed to stall and shimmer or vibrate and then it shot across the sky and disappeared. The speed that it disappeared at had to have been 10 to 20 times faster that its original speed, maybe thousands of miles per second. This speed is hard to describe but it wasn't as fast as a bolt of lightning you see in the sky. After it disappeared, a few seconds we heard a boom in the distance but thought it might have been from Camp Pendleton.

I saw one UFO traveling south to north roughly parallel to Pacific Coast Highway. I cannot be sure of the size or the distance but if I had to guess it was up about 1000 feet. It was triangular shaped with each side, I'm guessing, 30 feet. The "tip" areas of the triangle were not pointy but rounded. There where large circles in each tip. There were no lights,it was lit only by the ambient light in the area. It made no sound whatsoever. It was traveling rapidly but not super fast. The circular areas were a carbon color in the low light and the interior area appeared to have a light brownish cast.

Blue light in sky performing amazing manuevers for five minutes

(I apolagize for any mistakes and overall poor quality found in this write-up..I am exhausted and write this a few hours after my encounter) After a night of bowling, my three friends and I decided to go and watch the meteor shower of 8/13/00. we spread out the sleeping bag for us to sit on and saw a good 5 or six shooting stars in the course of a half hour or so. at about 2:15 or 2:20 or so i spotted what had the appearance of a faint, small, bluish star. It was moving straight across the sky very slowly. Slow from our perspective, but probably traveling extremely fast, just far away. My friends instantly saw this as well. We decided it was a satellite and continued to watch it when suddenly, it changed course and headed downward, completely about face from the course it was heading. At this point about ten seconds had passed. then it began to move horizontally in a jerky start-stop motion. coming to complete stops with no gradual slow downs. next it began to make jerky half circle motions, clockwise then counterclockwise visa-versa etc as it travelled on its path. it made occasional complete circles. it continued these unpredictable course changes periodically and continued its bizzare loops and dashes. untill it appeared to become almost stationary far on the opposite side of the sky from where it had started. nearly five minutes had passed...that is an agreed upon esitmate. we watched for about ten more minutes or so...occasionally it moved...we were more or less freaking out trying to rationalize what we had just seen and at the same time trying to calm down one of my friends who was already 10 minutes late for her curfew. the two girls I was with were basically hysterical as they fed off eachother's fear. i really wanted to stay and watch in case something else happened but my friend had to be home for her curfew( it was now about 2:40 am) and she was the one driving us around so i had to go. I was dropped of at my car where i raced to my home 20 minutes away and woke up my parents to come look for what i had seen. They were not amused. I watched the sky from my backyard for about another hour and gave up. this was no airplane or meteo! rite. it was a faint, blue dot in the sky doing the most amazing maneuvers i have ever seen. once again i emphasize how it changed course directions instantly and jumped about in the sky. what would do this i ask? i have never been a believer nor skeptic towards UFOS. I am convinced someone else out there besides my friends and I saw this, for it couldnt have happened on a more observed night than a meteor shower like this one. I wish I wish i could give points of reference like constellations, stars and directional coordiantes..but im totally clueless when it comes to those types of things. I was referred to this site from somebody in a UFO chatroom on aol where i went looking for other people who may have seen this. And yes we were all entirely sober.

Similar to a Shooting Star, but not! Brillient Bright Green in color with sparkling long tail.

I just heard you on the "radio show", and would like to offer you "My Experience" with a most elegant sighting. I actually live in Central Washington State, but I was in California at the time visiting my Mother. The date was specifically October 5th, 1998 and it was in the evening, about 8:00 PM California time, and it was dark. I was in the parking lot at my girlfriend saying good night when her little boy of 10 years old said "Look at that!" I turned and viewed one of the most elegant things I've ever seen! With my wide span view between the trees I saw very long streak in the sky moving on a horizenal plane. It was moving similar to a shooting star, with an extremely long tail, and it was the most brilliant "Green" color I've ever seen. The front was much larger and brighter than the trailing edge, and I noticed that it was moving slower that a shooting star, but still a a great speed. Surprisingly, it appeared very low in the sky. (About 20 to 30 degrees above the horizen.) It had a "flat" trajectory (no movement up or down) and the sight lasted at least more than 10 seconds in clear view. Along the trailing end, which I repeat was very long, there were tiny (but fine) speckles of white "glitter" like from the a ferry's wand. The actual tail of this thing appeared to be over 20 miles long. It was identical to the one the lady described when you played her voice recording on the radio show. I had a 90 degree clear view horizonally of this thing and it was simply remarkable. As my back was facing the ocean, I viewed this as it was moving from my left to my right side. This means I was facing a easterly direction. (with a little North added) I was actually in "Dana Point" California one block from the ocean, facing towards the approximate direction of San Antinio Peak which is located about 20 miles NE of Ontairo. (I've done a lot of flying in this area.) So this thing was coming from... a Northly direction, and going to a Southerly direction. Almost the opposite direction of the Lady's sighting. Now this lady I dicribed above just had her sighting tonight 12/18/98, while my "identical" sighting in California was on 10/5/98 . Over 2,000 miles of seperation! I am a former Deputy Sheriff and former Police Officer. I also have a Commercial Pilot license, and I know what I see, when I see it. I hope this sighting helps. Thank you for being there!

SUMMARY: We saw a pinkish light moving in a south to north direction. It traveled at a constant speed covering an approximately 110 degree arc of the sky to the horizon in about 8 seconds. It did not appear to be a meteor to either of us.

Not much more to add here. We were out inthe driveway working on the car when I looked up and saw the object moving at a high rate of speed. I am an artist and my friend is a student in accounting. I am 44and he is 30.

Green glowing ball

I noticed, for the second time in approxamately 1 month, a large, round gren glowing sphere, roughly the size of a nickle at arms reach, hovering over the pacific. It remained motionless fror roughly one minute and then seemed to streak off upwards out of sight, far faster than anything possibly of human design.
