We were traveling south on highway 99 passing through Ripon, CA . I was looking at the clouds against the beautiful color of blue sky. There were quite a few clouds towards the east. As I gazed on I had noticed something odd with what I initially thought to be a cloud. I continued to focus my attention on what I was seeing. I recall my mind processing several comparisons from my minds imaginary bank but quickly realized I had no match to what I was right then looking at. It was at this moment when I pointed out the car window and said to my husband and 17 year old son, “what is that?” I also started recording this object with my cell phone.

The object was to low to be an aircraft , to high to be a blimp and it was just there hovering. The object had no wings at all, it appeared to be whitish or silverish.

My husband noticed what I had pointed out and he could not identify this object either. My son had little interest in it at all , but he did look and he also seen it.

There isn’t anything in that area that would explain hat it was that we all just seen. I don’t know how long it remained motionless, as we lost sight of it by traveling.

I was able to capture a brief video recording of this object and from that video I was able to screenshot the object and zoom in for a better look at what it could be.

Much to our surprise, the pics did confirm what we had seen plus confirmed that the o next was not an airplane or blimp.

Large dome of green light, no trails, no visible singular location of the light.

Was driving northbound on highway 99 and saw a large dome of green light fill up the western part of the sky. Lasted approximately 10 seconds. No noise was heard though I was in a car, so I can't confirm whether or not it was silent.

at around 8 pm 10/30/11 my son, girlfriend and i were stargazing in the back yard. my son pointed out a v shaped shadow flying over our heads. t was silent and moving fast. another passed over about half hour later.

Object observed over orchard North of Ripon, CA.

Jack Tone road. In the distance, slightly to my left, where two bright lights, the lights where North/South, looked to be about over S. Jack Tone road, hovering.

Continuing East I observed the object to be stationary. As I approached S. Jack Tone road it began to move West, in a straight line, paralleling French Camp road. The object, at first, appeared to me dark metallic. I could see angles reflecting from its lights. As it approached suddenly I noted three lights. One light each facing West, North and South.

I assumed it to be a Helicopter and slowed down and opened the window to listen. There was no sound. No rotating beacons or strobe lights like all aircraft have.

The object was around 100 feet gliding over an orchard. As we passed I could see it was large and possibly triangular. On the East end was a dull red object. After we had passed the lights appeared to be on the bottom. It accelerated west as I had already slowed to observe it. From the westbound lane to the edge of the orchard must be less than 500 feet. I had my head turned back to watch it but had the Jack Tone road stop sign.

In retrospect, I feel it was a UFO. An airport KSCK is North/West from the sighting. I looked at Flight aware and it showed an Allegiant Air MD88 landing at 1936. Once turned South on Jack Tone road I looked at the radio clock it was 1938. I don’t see how an MD88 could be that low and off course on a clear night. Also no engine sound or any sound at all from my observation. If was larger than an Ultralight or Helicopter. The size seemed to vary as it passed which does make be believe it was triangular.

There was a vehicle behind me that I noticed was right on my bumper from my slowing. A couple of cars had passed North/South on S. Jack Tone road. Nobody seemed to take notice or slow to look.

Observer: I am a truck driver near 20 years and have seen many things at night. Most can be explained. Not all, always. I’m not prone to just assume something is a UFO. In fact if I had, in this case, I could have had video with my phone. A lot of where I drive is around orchards. I’ve seen Helicopters spraying at night. There are odd implements working at night and many lights, in the sky, that turn out to be airplanes. Shooting Stars and oddly illuminated clouds and cloud formations.

In fact, I have seen a Cigar shaped UFO back in the early ’90s with my brother as a witness. I didn’t know of any places to make a report back then.

Looking up in Nother sky at 12:06am 10-12-04 I by myself seen a boomerang shaped object heading west. It passed over 90 dgrees in 4-5 seconds. It was silent and blocked out the stars as it went. In measurement to the moon it was half the size. It did not have lights yet the underneath appeared redish.

Strange object sat still in sky for 45 minutes like a star, then very quickly passed over me.

When I was out at Trinity Church looking at fireflies after a church event had ended, I noticed a bright yellow (not white, but a deeper yellow) light about the size of five or six stars combined. It was a clear night, so I could compare the object to the many stars that were out. The object remained motionless for about forty minutes. When I went to my bike it started moving in a loop towards me, it looked like it was descending towards earth. No one else was around since church had been out for about half an hour, and I hid in the long marsh grass. It flew directly over me and I could see tiny red, green, and white lights on the bottom of it and larger, more bright, yellow lights in a circle pattern on the bottom of it. There were no lights in the middle, but there was a combination of three figure eight patterns made with yellow light. The three figure eights were connected together and seemed to be coming from the large yellow lights. I have seen many airplanes, jets, satellites, and meteorites fly at all times of day since Ripon is located near Oshkosh. Oshkosh gets all kinds of planes from around the world for the EAA and I can tell the difference between planes and what I saw. I have never seen an aircraft just sit still for about forty minutes, then when you glance at it a second time it moves at a very fast speed towards you. What caused me to wonder what the object was is that I have never seen it before while looking for fireflies, and that the object was brighter, larger, and a different color then a star. As I was leaving I saw an object that looked the same as the first object out towards Oshkosh flying in an odd pattern. The object was raising its height, then lowering it (bobbing up and down). I was just wondering if anyone else in the Ripon area saw this strange object.

Note:The objects lights were in a disc shape, but I could not see the outline of the object due to the bright yellow lights. The object seemed to be less than 100 yards above my head, but it was hard to tell because I did not know the exact size of the object. If the object was a little less than 100 yards high, then it had around a 100 foot radius (assuming the lights were on the edge of the object). I compared the objects height to the roof of the church as it passed over it. As I noted before, the yellow lights were extremely bright and they made it impossible to see the outline of the object, only the smaller lights were noticeable with the large yellow ones.



NUFORC Note:

It is unusual, in our opinion, for a UFO to remain motionless for an hour, although not impossible. If the report that the object moved swiftly across the sky is accurate, then it could not have been a celestial body. PD

Unidentified dark triangular object stationary in the sky over Ripon, CA.

I observed a single, dark, triangular object in the sky. The unidentified object stayed stationary in the sky for the duration of the time I video taped it. I drove my car east approximately 3/4 of a mile until I reached the end of the street. The object was further east and appeared to be approximately 1500 feet in the sky. I was able to get a closer inspection of the video tape on a larger Television. The object appeared to be floating in a stationary position. The object did move slightly up, down, left, and right. I was unable to determine what the object was.
