Brown/Black Disk shaped UFO flying low with bright orange light

It was disk shaped, but not those perfect silver disks you typically see. The ship had the look of an armor plated tank. You could see the seams of where the metal comes together with bolts locking them in place. The only reason I could see the it so well was because the orange flood-light illuminated most of the underbelly in the night sky. On the "backside" of the disk, it looked kind of engine like.
It flew low enough to discern details about the ship despite being dark, but not low enough to illuminate the city street. There were no sounds produced by the ship whatsoever.

When I saw it, it came from S County Center Drive. It went down W Ashland Ave, towards Mooney Blvd. If it maintained the direction, it would have reached Death Valley or Las Vegas.

I recorded when it flew over my head. But it didn't save. I still kick myself about it to this very day. But I got a second recording of it headed to Mooney Blvd. Though it just looks like an orange light. (Note, it's not the flagpole illuminated in my neighbors yard. It's the orange light flying down)

I saw it flying above my apartment complex to the west of me, it had 2 rows of bright red and green lights , when I stopped and examine

I saw the aircraft flying o we my apartment complex to the west it had two rows of 4 bright red and green lights in a U shape. When I stopped walking to examine it, it also stopped and hovered a moment then it veared quickly to the NE and then sharply veared back the opposite direction quite quickly so knowing that it was probably a UFO I quickly got to where I was going to the laundry room when I came back out a few minutes later it was gone. I have had past experiences also I would like to talk to someone about from 2014 when I had experienced disorientation, loss of about 34 hours and a tiny incision on my right hand, as well as another experience in 2021. I don't have photos, I only have a scar and metal in my spine.

Strange object witnessed in the sky, from back and front yard of our home.

A reddish orange spherical object was witnessed by my wife, child, and myself, first from the back yard and then the front. This object not only moved in a way that no Aircraft or pilot could possibly move, (Speed, Direction, etc) but also made absolutely no sound at all! Our Dog was barking heavily at it as well, which was also strange! After defying all laws of physics, it just disappeared.

Viewed some red lights in the sky appearing to be moving north and slower than an airplane.

Saw multiple red lights moving in the sky in what appeared to be uniform motion, but could be wrong. Lights appeared to be traveling north or northwest slower than a plane. I viewed the phenomenon standing outside the planet fitness gym on Demaree and walnut in visalia CA, and I was facing west while filming them. The weather was cloudy at the time, very clouds where no stars were visible and I viewed the phenomenon at exactly 9:43 pm. Eventually the lights faded into the clouds and disappeared. I was able to capture footage of the event on my Samsung galaxy s10e smartphone. I drew an image of the phenomenon on a screenshot of a map and my location, although I believe it was much farther away. Hope this helps!

They were white circular objects. There were about 10, hard to count with clouds in the background. They were swirling around in the sky in a pattern. They moved slowly from south to north keeping in a pattern each time they came around.

Before I came back in they switched from singles to doubles. Then went back to singles.

There was no sound emitted. It was too dark to get a video on my phone.

My wife and I observed an orange colored illuminated "object" moving from southwest to the east in the night sky.

The object did not produce any audible sound, like rotors, engines, drone hum, or jet roar. The object moved relatively slowly, not unlike a high flying aircraft. However, no red or green blinking lines or tail lights could be observed. Most oddly, the object would flare brightly and then seem to snuff out, like a dying ember, only to flair bright orange again.

There was no pattern or rhythm to the flaring or diminishing of the light and no color change was observed. It remained a steady orange color. My wife described it as "on fire" and I would not disagree.

I have studied astronomy all my life in Scouts, college courses, and as an astronomy enthusiast volunteering in our National Park. I have spent a great deal of time in the wilderness backpacking and such, watching the night sky from remote places. I have seen Iridium flares and regularly watch the ISS and other objects in the night sky, thanks to smartphone apps. I have seen drones, shooting stars (including big ones) and watched meteor showers. I have watched rocket launches from Vandenburg AFB in the night sky. This was something new to me and something outside of anything easily explanable based on my experience.

The object was observed from my side patio where we were eating dinner, then we moved to the backyard to watch it further until it faded somewhere over the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Solid white light very far away to the west. It was moving much too fast to be a plane, but too slow to be a meteor. It appeared to rise up from the horizon from the northwest, then gained altitude while heading south.

It traveled for about 2 minutes and lost altitude, and the light went out as it was descending to the south, slightly southeast.

Sky suddenly dimmed during a lunchtime walk.

Yesterday, on August 26th, I was walking from a local community college to a nearby Taco Bell with five of my friends. The Taco Bell sits behind a bus stop and is on a busy street in our town, Visalia, CA. The traffic was stopped. The skies were clear – no clouds.

It was a little before 1:00 pm. We were walking and talking when the sky suddenly dimmed and then became light again. It was about a 2-3 second event.

One of my friends stopped, and said, “Whoa – did anybody else see that?” We all saw the light dim and quickly returned to normal.

Some thought it was a large truck going by but the traffic was stopped and no large trucks anywhere. There was nothing in the sky – clouds – airplanes-birds that we could see.

It was an orange color and not flashing, and when first noticed the object was moving from the North heading South bound. The object suddenly stopped and made a sharp right angle turn to the right and stopped again and made another right angle turn in which appeared to have dropped in altitude and stopped again. The object then made another right angle turn to the left and stopped. At this point the object got much brighter and took off at an impossible rate of speed until it disappeared.

The lights were bright red/orange and were fairly low because there is heavy cloud cover in the sky tonight and the lights appeared to be in front of them.

It was 6am, Friday morning. I was walking to school for our Senior Sunrise, (event where the entire Senior class takes a photo during sunrise), but it was still very dark. There was about 40 or more kids that made it early. I hear a student say, "what's that?" I turned around and at first I thought it was just a helicopter searching for someone. Then, the bright light started spinning and growing in size.

At that point it was like a flare. My other friend told me that if it was a flare it would've been brighter. A bright haze surrounded the object and then it disappeared.

Strange, slowly moving fireball like object in the sky.

I was on the phone in my driveway at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the evening, in Visalia, California, when I noticed a reddish, flare like colored object slowly rising up into the sky in the North West. At first I thought it might be some kind of flare, but after observing it for approximately one minute, I ruled that out as there was no light trail of any kind and it actually appeared to be traveling.

I then thought it might be some type of remote control plane, until it began traveling South East, over my neighborhood. It was moving very slowly, and much, much lower than an airplane. It was completely silent. It was flickering an orange-red color, like a flame, but not in any flashing pattern.

As it went above me, it reminded me somewhat of a jellyfish, like a ball with a light inside. It was about 4 times larger than the brightest star in the sky. It rose a bit higher and then flickered out and disappeared.

For the last couple of weeks, when it starts to get dark, there is a bright light, SouthWest, toward the Lemoore NAS area. It is lower then a star and lower then any aircraft in the area.

It seems to hover for several hours and then it disappears. It seems to be directly above the Lemoore NAS Base. I am surprised no one has spotted the light and reported it.

For months, if you look toward the East sky line, toward the Sequoia Mountains, you can see a very bright light. It is always at about the noon to 1 o'clock position. It is some type of "ship" or a satelite. It is there every night. On occassion, "we" have seen the bright light move in up and down position and the light at times, grows dim, then bright again. Look up in the sky, it is there almost every night.

4 lights moving in a precise pattern as though on the perimeter of a sphere, following us for 15 mi.to our home

This happened last night (Thanksgiving) between 9:45 and 10:00 pm. We were traveling in our car south on Highway 99 from Fresno toward Visalia. There was a cloud cover and I looked out my right side window ( West) and noticed some dancing white lights. At first I thought it was a spot light being shown up into the sky, perhaps to attract people to a Black Friday shopping location. However, there weren't any stores near where this was occurring. I kept watching them while my husband was driving. The lights were moving in a very distinct and exact pattern. There were four of them. They were in a circle and they would rotate perfectly to the left about 90 degrees and then they all converged and meet as one in the middle of this circle. Then they would move back out to the perimeter of the circle, rotate to the left, then once again converge to the middle and start over again. I say circle because although I could not see anything but the lights, the pattern they moved in was a circle. Each of the 4 lights was the same size and they were softened by the cloud cover between the actual light and us. This changing of the pattern was constant and occurred several times each minute. It was as though they were on the outer edges of a round object, would rotate 1/4 way around the object, all come back to the middle of the object, then return to the outer edges. I remarked to my husband that it looked like the lights were doing a square dance. The precision that they moved in was completely consistent every time.

Then, as we traveled down the highway the lights stayed right with us along the highway, traveling just west of us but staying with us, I mentioned this to my husband, and he saw them as well. We had traveled at least ten miles since I first noticed them, but they stayed right with us. This really had our attention. We took the off ramp to exit the highway and stopped at the top of the ramp as there was no traffic behind us.

We watched the lights travel and stop right in front of us, (up in the sky of course) and hover there and the lights never wavered from their moving pattern, It kind of freaked me out that they stopped and hovered there as we stopped at the top of the ramp. We turned left and traveled three or four miles north to the road where we live, which is a state highway.

The lights stayed above us and to the right of us, but definitely with us. We got to our road, and I was really feeling some anxiety. We turned left and traveled about 3/4 of a mile to our ranch and I couldn't see them behind us. I was relieved! We had to hang a u turn to get into our driveway, and there were those 4 lights, hovering just off our driveway, right next to our house. We rolled down the windows to try to hear anything, but there was complete silence. I thought several crazy thoughts because it was very weird. I felt like whatever it was knew I had noticed it and decided to follow us. I was freaked out and got into the house as quickly as possible. My husband had to go check on the livestock and said it was still out there when he came in.

I called the sheriff's office this morning and no reports of any lights came in from anyone, but they gave me the information to contact you, so this is what we saw.

My husband is a rancher and farmer, has been in business over 50 years I am a retired business owner, serve on several boards and am very active in the community.

One main craft with bright rotating lights and orange light crafts flying in and out of and around the main craft.

There was one main one that was a disk shape that had bright individual lights that would sporadically turn on and sometimes rotate and for various amounts of time. After some time yellowish/orange lights shot in and out of the main craft and would fly/move around in unpredictable movements. Some of theses lights shot towards the ground others around the main craft. As the hours went on the craft moved father away with the lights continuing to shoot in, out, and around it. We believe the lights to be smaller crafts that were able to fly into the main craft. The first person to sight the main craft says she saw the main craft have 5 or 6 windows. This was all seen from a second story house and the craft(s) were low in sky and above fields/ bird land.

The green glowing aircraft

My two brothers and I were driving home at around 330am Sunday morning. Then all of the sudden it seemed that the entire night sky just kinda lit up if you will, almost like a huge explosion had taken place but with no explosion. The light just seemed to come from no where, just the sky was bright. It was from the ground to the clouds and even the car we were traveling in lit up.

We all started to "freak out" started asking what the **** was that and just were in disbelief.

Then it got a little crazier. There was a "craft" of sorts? It was hovering very close to the ground and just sat there. I feel like this didn't happen but it did, I know it did, all 3 of us seen it. It was nothing like I have ever seen before.

I served in the 101st airborne infantry division so I've been around lots of military craft and have never seen anything like this. It was long and flat and the freaky part was it had a green glow. Like if you were to imagine an old carto! on and that person had like bio waste on him how they would make it glow green? I don't know it was to weird to explain with words, but it was glowing green and sat there for around 5 seconds or so.

This worked us into a freak out of epic proportions we couldn't believe our eyes what the heck was this and just like that it like disappeared and left this outline of "fire" in the sky. It looked like a child's drawing of a Christmas tree but orange to redish in color and then that just kinda just went away as well.

The "craft" moved so fast it was wild, almost like it "hopped" or somehow just went from one spot to another I don't want to use this word but "teleported?"

I don't have any explanation of what we saw nor do either of my brothers and I can't explain it with words my mind just doesn't want to comprehend it but I do know we seen it. My comments to the entire thing were "If our military has a craft that can do that I feel sorry for the other countries."

My brother stated "That was paranormal" and my other brother said "What ! the hell moves that fast and leaves fire tracers?"

It was a crazy night/morning and I just wanted to see if anyone else has ever reported something similar because I kinda feel crazy!

Orange orb witnessed in the Central Valley night sky!

Two of my friends and I were playing basketball outside at a local church. We looked up at the south south west night sky and noticed an orange orb. It was 3 times bigger than commercial airliners that you would see flying at its highest point in the sky. We watched it as it was staying in the same spot and then it started emitting a very small trail and a haze of orange as it started moving slowly east. It then instantly disappeared.

A couple seconds later it reappeared instantly in the spot it disappeared. Another couple seconds went by and it disappeared again instantly. We never heard it making a sound during the whole 7 minute sighting. We watched for another 30 minutes to see if it would reappear again but it never did.

We live in between China Lake military base and Lemoore Navel Air Station and see jets fly back and forth between bases all the time. There is also a small airport near by and see planes landing. Commercial airliners fly over head as well between Fresno, CA and Los Angeles, CA area frequently.

We don’t know what it was. It was a clear night with no clouds in the sky and a bright moon. Whatever we saw that night was not a plane. It had no characteristics of the other planes in the sky like flashing lights or turning on white head lights on a descent to land. Hopefully we could get some answers of what we saw.

8/24/10 Visalia, CA <15 min. About 10:00 am I saw an oblong or possibly triangular white object overhead while looking westward driving downtown. It was headed in a southeasterly direction, behind a tall apartment building. I turned and headed southward on the next street and looked into the sky but didn’t see anything. It was a blue sky and very clear day. There were no objects in the sky at all, including planes.

I ran a quick errand after which, about 10 minutes later, I was in my car parked in a large parking lot a couple of miles southwest of downtown Visalia. While parked, I looked for no particular reason out the driver’s window to my left. An object in the sky caught my attention. I looked up and saw what appeared to be a white object, definitely not a plane, headed overhead in a northward direction. The shape was kind of triangular and I watched as it passed overhead past a freeway and continued on a northward trajectory appearing almost to turn over in a ‘hurtling’ manner. I don't know what its elevation was. I watched it until I couldn’t see it anymore. What came to mind was that earlier object. Also, I hadn’t heard nor seen any planes overhead in the time I had been outside that morning.

3 small white lights in the shape of a triangle, one object only

I woke up at 4am that morning to get ready for work. I am currently a student in the medical field and I had to be at the hospital by 5:30 am that morning. It was still sort of dark out, enough that I had to turn my headlights on. There was no wind. The sky was clear, no clouds were in site. I got in my car around 4:50am, started it and waited for it to warm up. I live in a normal neighborhood in the south east part of the city. As I was backing out of my driveway I happened to look up in the sky out of the driver’s side window, which would have been towards the west. I saw a fairly small whitish light about 45-55 degrees above the horizon in the sky. It almost looked like a star. When I first saw it I did a double take, when I fixed my eyes on the object it looked like it was moving around very fast and then it stopped and hovered for a few seconds.

After that I started driving west down my street still looking at it through the front windshield of the car.! It was moving very slowly. There were no flashing lights, or blinking lights like those on an airplane or any other man-made aerial craft. As soon as I got to the end of the street at the stop sign I stopped and got out of my car and was watching the light slowly travel north north east at a fairly slow rate, slower than any airplane could fly without crashing. When I got out of my car and looked up at the object it was pretty far away, but it almost looked like there were 3 lights in the shape of a triangle. They appeared to be kind of close together, like it was a single object, not 3 flying objects in close proximity.

For a few seconds I was pondering driving back to my house to grab my video camera, but I didn’t want to lose sight of it as it was traveling away from me. (Later that evening I checked to see if my video camera was even charged and it wasn’t. I am always going to make sure it is from now on at all times.) I was parked in front of a neighbor’s house long e! nough for someone to turn on their front porch light. I don’t ! know if they saw me and was wondering what I was doing. I didn't want them to call the cops thinking I was a prowler or anything so I got back in my car and watched the object moving away from me slightly increasing in speed. I backed the car up back towards my house so I could try to see it as there were trees blocking my field of view and I gradually lost it in the sky due to the sun starting to rise over the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.

Like I said I know what I saw, and I saw something that wasn’t man made. It looked like it had 3 small lights in the shape of a triangle and they were white. I am not a liar. I consider myself very credible. I teach at a local high school, and I am also a student in the medical field. I have also seen several other unknown objects in the sky over my lifetime. Hopefully someone else saw the same thing I did, but it’s highly unlikely that anyone will report it.

Me and my two friends were out on a country road, they were sitting on the back hatch of the car facing west and i was standing facing east. I took a few side steps to the left, and as soon as the back of the car was out of my view, that's when i saw a cigar shaped object zoomed downwards in the distance probably no more than 5 miles away from where i was. This cigar shaped object flew down to much at an angle, and going way too fast to be a plane. It had two streaks of lights more towards the front. We stayed at our location for another 20 min or so and i did not see this object return into the sky, i truly believe that i did see a UFO or ET spacecraft of some kind.

On June fourth 2009 at 9:50 PM I looked up at the moon. It was mostly cloudy and I saw about 18 small white lights appear. I thought they were balloons or papers flying high in the sky and being illuminated by the city lights. As I observed I noticed the lights moving in and out of the clouds. I came the conclusion that they were much higher up about 13,000 feet. They were not aircraft with blinking lights, these were brilliant white lights that lit up at the same place in the sky as they were traveling east and then they disappeared into the clouds again.

It was about 7:30pm we looked into the sky (Southeast) and there was a very large bright off white light with a green tint around it. It stayed in the same spot just moving back and forth for about 30-45 minutes, then just disapeared. Kind of hovering back and forth. We kept looking at it and took some pictures, but the movie pictures just looks like a white speck moving back and forth. The movies look nothing like just looking at it with the naked eye. We thought it was a bright star, but it had green around it and it hovered back and forth. We also thought at first it was a helicopter, but it never moved. We never took our eyes off of the object, then it just disapeared. No movement at all.

2007, March 22 @ 19:30 Amber lights seen over Visalia, CA

2007/03/22: The first time I saw the object was about 19:30. I was standing by my car when I saw the light about 2 miles away. Then within a matter of seconds it was over my head moving towards the east. It was a bright amber sphere and was moving extremely fast without sound or without leaving a contrail. I tried to drive to keep it in my sight. By the time I had driven three blocks the object had moved about 15 miles eastward. I decided that it would be pointless to pursue any further since it had traveled so fast. After that I headed towards the northwest side of town where my friend lived. Just before arriving at his home, I saw the same object fly over me again at an incredible speed, this time toward the west. I called my friend since the object would soon fly over his home. My friend didn’t believe me thinking I was making a joke. There were three of us at my friend’s house, when about 21:30 I decided to make a food run. As I was driving I saw the same object again, but this time there were two objects one just above the other. I stopped my car to make sure that it wasn’t a perception problem. I called my friend and immediately drove toward his home again. The three of us saw the objects slowly move, stop, hover, and move again. The movements of the objects were very erratic and they moved independently from one another. One friend, that was watching these objects with me, was in the navy and worked as an aircraft identifier on a carrier ship. He said that there was nothing to his knowledge that would exhibit that kind of movement and fly that close together. We watched these objects as they slowly moved across the sky. After about five minutes, they started blinking and then just vanished.

I had time to call my wife from my house to come and witness this event.

I had time to go into my house for my digital camers and snap 4 photos.

One photo reveled what I think are two triangular shapes with the bright light in the center and 3 each fainter lights in the photo defining the shape.

On the photo there is also appears a third fainter light between which was not visible to naked eye.

Duration was approx 5 min. and they went out. No sound.

Night sky was dark with very high scattered clouds.

Last night 1/29/06 I went outside to check the mail. On my way back inside my house, I looked up in the sky because I heard an airplane. Above the airplane were 2 Bright orange Egg type of things to the left of the little dipper moving and a good speed in all directions, I couldn't believe it. I ran inside to get my brother to tell him, he didn't believe me but came out anyways. Once we both were outside, we looked up and noticed they were no moving to the right of the little dipper, at an unreal rate of speed, I mean like 10x faster than an airplane would, so he called up his friend Nate C. who then went outside to see what was going on. The objects then stopped moving and sort of hovered there for awhile, a few minutes pasted and all the sudden both started to drop, what looked like sparks, out of the bottom. Then a few more appeared out of no where and also started to drop out the mysterious sparks. There were now 6 of the objects flying around in every direction, up, down, diagonal. I then called up my friend Adam B. and told him to go outside, He saw it also, we were tripping out, we couldn't believe what was going on, after awhile they each, one by one, slowly disappeared. After we got of the phone with eachother I went back inside. About 12:00 am I went back out and 2 more were there and 1 of the object started to drop the sparks out of it and both of the objects then disappeared.

This is 100% true, no lies, I couldn't believe it either. I'm not crazy, I have 3 other witnesses that saw it at the same time I did.

White orb enveloped by red colored halo, splits into smaller red fragments, while weaving and dropping.

Tonight I had walked into my back yard before retiring and looked at the rising moon, which was approximately 40 degrees above the horizon. To the NNE, I could see what I thought was an aircraft headed south at approximately the same relative altitude as the rising moon from my ground perspective. The bright white light which appeared to be the same intensity as a small aircraft's and about the size of a pencil eraser held at arms length, also appeared to have red light in a halo effect around the white light but at a greatly reduced size and barely discernable from the white light. I estimated the "aircraft" to be approximately ½ mile away from me based on numerous other aircraft sightings over the years of airplanes flying overhead en route to our local airport.

I watched the "aircraft" for approximately (1) minute and realized that it's lateral speed was slowing and it was now turning further west towards my location which could account for the illusion of it slowing down. Although it still had the red halo effect, I realized that it was not an aircraft rotating beacon or navigation light. I then called to my wife and twenty year old son to come outside and we watched for (1) minute more as the object began to slowly weave left to right and began to drop in altitude. The white light dimmed slightly and then it suddenly dropped what appeared to be (3) red fragments much like flares dropped by jet fighter aircraft. The object zig-zagged left to right and still continued to drop in altitude headed south. It emitted (3-4)red fragments and appeared to turn due east. Its size continued to reduce which led me to believe it was moving away from me. It was also appeared to reduce in size every time it emitted the fragments. It finally disappeared altogether which left my family and I, awe struck.

I have been a patrol sergeant with a local law enforcement agency for almost twenty years and have observed several missile launches from Vandenberg AFB which is approximately (200) miles SE of me. The launches leave a visible smoke trail from my town and sometimes I can see the booster separations and engine burns, if the sky is clear. I have also observed dozens of space junk re-entries, satellites including Iridium flares, and orbiting spacecraft, but I have never seen an object perform as this one did tonight. It went from controlled navigation to weaving like a drunk driver and then straighten itself back out in seconds. I have seen jet aircraft drop flare counter measures before and they have a systematic ejection, controlled decent and separation. These fragments did not.

I have a Navel Air Station approximately (30) miles west of me and FA-18 Hornets fly overhead day and night. They are flying over to the China Lake and Nellis AFB test ranges, so I'm accustomed to the sounds they make, the navigation lights they have and the speeds they transit our airspace at. This object had no sound and from the estimated distance and the fact that it was after 2300 hours, it was quiet. There was no sound, no explosion, no smoke and unlike anything I had ever experienced before in real life.

We believe it was a UFO.

me and a coworker were working on ac units on the roof of a building in downtown visalia. i heard a fighter jet flying over and looked up at it, saw what looked like a balloon next to the sun.it was shiny silver in color and was moving east towards the mountains. it appeared to be spinning or tumbling because it was like round then then flat, round then flat, all the way across the sky, couldnt tell if it was changing shape or spinning or tumbling because it was pretty high up, but we watched it move all the way across the sky east and then suddenly it moved north , thats as far as we could see it, this took around 3 to 5 min.

we were in the back yard and watched as the object moved and left a glowing blue contrail or cloud which stayed in the same position

at 21:20 on friday the 7th of july in visalia, ca. I and several freinds spotted what we thought was a spot light coming in our direction. there were no clouds in the sky and it was very clear. the object was southeast moving at a slow rate of speed to the north. we observed the object for approximately 5 minutes when it appeared to be moving away at a high rate of speed. within 30 seconds it was out of sight , but left a blue contrail behind in its wake. the blue cloud or contrail stayed in the air and didnt move for another 15 to 20 minutes before it dissapated. there was no sound and the object appeared to be approximately 3 to 4 miles from our position. the blue cloud or contrail had an earie glow. i have never seen any kind of craft like this and all my friends are as baffled as i am.

Three flying disks, spotted close up during daylight hours.

I was sixteen years old at the time. We lived on a farm on Shirk Road, west of the city of Visalia. I was walking south along the edge of a vineyard when something caught my eye in my peripheral vision. I turned and saw three disks flying in formation about fifty yards east of my position and only about 20 feet above the tops of the valley oak trees growing on the canal bank on the north edge of the vineyard. Two of them were close together with the third following behind them.

They were shaped like truncated cones. They had the appearance of brushed stainless steel--a dull gray color. They were flying silently at about 30 mph. As I watched them, I had the distinct impression that they were also observing me. I can't really explain that sensation.

As I stood watching them, they floated over the vineyard, and then suddenly, they was a red streak in the sky, arching upwards and they were gone.

I was studying for the FAA private pilot's exam at the time. My father was an anti-aircraft gunner in WWII. When I was small, his idea of a fun time on Sundays was to go to the airport and watch planes take off and land. I can honestly say that I could identify practically every aircraft I spotted in the air at the time. These were not airplanes, helicopters, balloons or blimps. They were silent disks capable of silent flight and incredible acceleration.

The sun was still high in the sky, and they were plainly visible.
