Dark Gray Mass Over Southern California

Out for a walk, heading east. I am a bit of a skywatcher and a couple of lights had caught my attention. On the second light, a dark fuzzy object popped out from the darkness. It was about 60 degrees up and I estimate about 1 1/2 miles away. It had no lights. Gray and hazy with no discernable edges. An out-of-focus Brillo pad wrapped in yarn would be one way to describe it. About the size of a 3 bedroom house and traveling around 300 mph. It flew from west to the east in a straight line with some up and down variation. My sighting was brief, but I got a real good look before it scooted off into the night.

Sitting and watching for satellites after sunset. saw several and turned toward vega and cygnus. immediately saw a tiny flashing light and thru 10x binos were clearly seen to be a bright red and green flashing light. no other part of a craft was seen. estimated to be aircraft in size. a tiny white light accompanied each flashing light. difficult to tell, but seemed to be on no course and made a lazy circle with no darting. ran to get camera and it had moved toward polaris.

after fumbling with camera, looked up and item dropped like a rock out of the sky, straight to horizon. could have accelerated, but no way of knowing.

several dark black objects different shapes approached rapidly slowed,stayed overhead, then disappeared

Was in the back yard with my dogs when I noticed several objects to the West and moving towards me to the East. They were dark black against a gray sky. At first I thought they might be drones but the objects were different shapes. There were a few round objects that seemed larger than a helicopter and one large object near the middle that looked like two large tubes in an "L' shape. The objects approached fairly rapidly, then stopped others slowed or moved more up than forward for a few seconds. One of the round ones came almost directly overhead. It looked like it had lighter colored parts on the outside I could make out as it got closer. It was odd. I felt like we were aware of each other. I don't know how to describe it. Then two more objects came from the same direction. The moved more rapidly than the others but from the same direction and slowed down over me. They were several hundred feet up. They didn't come close. They were silent. Then they started disappearing. First one, the poof poof, two more. A larger object stayed over head for a while, then it also slowly disappeared. It was strange...

Approxiamately UFO Description: Silvery reflective object Description of UFO object actions: Remained stationary well over, one minute and then flew away in a westernly direction.

location of the witness UFO sighting: Torrance Memorial Medical Center, in the middle of and northern section of the medical facility on the 5th floor. Visiting family member there!.

Estimated location of UFO: Mahattan beach and Redondo Beach in the state of California! Estimated altitude of ufo over hover location 500 or more feet AGL.

My statement regarding the UFO: I saw the silvery reflecting object hovering and motionless, I looked at it and carefully did some motions I moved left and right looking for any anomilies reflection off of other objects no result determined maybe UFO. The view i had I can see LAX traffic departures and determined object was too far south of LAX traffic departures and to low as well. I determined a UFO at this point, attempted to picture of UFO with cell phone object was unable to be seen in screen and no picture was attempted, at this point attempted a 2nd time object was losing brightness and moved away reflection brightness gone.

My statement of my background: I have general aviation flying experience though no longer active, I have flown in high wing Cessna mostly 152 and 172 models and low wing Piper PA-25's mainly. I have worked at LAX as a ramp service agent and refueler. I attend airshows and I am avid aviation afficienado. I fly drones general hobby consumer products and R/C Model aircraft. I'll state this “if it's got wings I am pretty much familiar with it.”

Final statement: Airplanes require forward movement to maintain flight or go higher in height this did not happen and ruled out helicopter because of windy conditions, and reflections not consistent with rotor blades spinning i.e. rapidly continuing pulsating flashes of light and police helicopters would be only authorized to fly low over a city and still have a forward motion for hindering ground gun fire common practice!.

Super bright white objects hovering together slowly emitting energy field or bright gas.

It was Friday, December 22, in Torrance, California, around 5:30 pm. The sky was already dark (just after twilight). I was stuck in pre-Christmas traffic driving North on Crenshaw Boulevard just east of a local Torrance Airport. I looked toward west from my car window and saw a bright light which appeared to be a small airplane emitting contrails, but it looked odd since it was much brighter. As I stared, what appeared to be contrails got thicker, and as the airplane (or what I thought was an airplane) gained its altitude, contrails became massive almost exploding, leaving a bright white gas in the air. As I observed the object which kept moving in the direction of south east, it looked like it split into two separate objects which moved together. It almost looked like the object in front was pulling the object in the back. It was difficult to identify since both objects were super bright or surrounded like some kind of energy field. The object which appear! ed to be being pulled kept emitting something because whatever it was, it was shooting out some kind of white gas or energy, making circular ripples in the air.

Other drivers were also looking up and taking videos or pictures (turning around by this time, since we were heading north in the opposite direction). Since traffic began moving, I could not see what happened after that, but my husband and I both witnessed the incident along with many other drivers, and the objects were not airplanes. They almost looked like they were floating, and no sound of engine or jets could be heard.

At just past 21:00 on Feb 14, I stepped outside to view the evening sky. Orion is usually up at this time. As I looked up I noticed two lights moving from East to West South West. The lights were In a forward and aft arraignment, and there seemed to be some distance between the two. Soon the aft light, swung to the left of the forward light and were about even with each other, then they just disappeared into the night sky.

I heard no engine sound, and I saw no navigational lights.

I could not tell at what altitude the lights were but they seemed very high.

At about this same time a single engine monoplane came from the West, and it had navigation lights that I could see, although I don’t remember hearing it’s engine.

Today at 15:15, my wife and I went to visit her mother and arrived there at 15:35. At 15:45 my son called us and said he could see a UFO back at my house 4.9 miles away, north of our location.

I immediately went outside to look and asked him where to look in the sky, and he said north. I couldn't see anything but looked for some point of reference and noticed an airliner taking off from LAX (it was climbing) some 10.7 miles away north west from our location at mother's in Torrance Ca.

I asked him if he could see the jet and he said no but would go to the front yard to get an unobstructed view. While he was moving from the back yard to the front I could see a flash that lasted about one second.

The flash was about 60% the size of a full moon. This object flashed three times and at three second intervals, and on the third flash I could see what appeared to be a star but in full daylight as it was a very bright white light.

I then noticed a pinkish orange flash coming from the star object at three second intervals. My son came back on the phone and said it was on a collision course with the airliner which he could now see.

The star object would flash for a second coast for three seconds and then flash again for a second. At this point my eyes were adjusted and I could see a second identical object trailing the first. It was also flashing pinkish orange but at two second intervals until it caught up with the first object.

The scene left me with the impression it was dropping down from a higher altitude to a lower one. The second star craft was as it was dropping down reminded me of a shooting flare much like a descending flare from a flare gun except it was bright white.

When the two objects were even they both were flashing in complete unison as if they were mirror images of each other. They were perfectly side by side and were headed from the northwest towards the southeast. They gave me the impression like, they were skipping across the sky. Like an ice skater, rhythmic and smooth.

I told my son I could see two objects and they were headed towards me. I looked at my watch and it was 15:50 and told my son to go to work because the incident distracted him from going to work. He was suppose to be at work at 16:00 and he hung up the phone and went to work.

The airliner was headed perfectly due east and I could see the airliner and star objects converge. I almost expected a collision but the star objects were well above the airliner because one of the star objects was blotted out by the mass of the jet but for only a split second.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better a third object appeared as if it just dropped in on the other two objects. The third object dropped in on the other two exactly like the second star object.

I expected the third Starcraft to line up with the other two but it did not, it went into what I think was a kind of missing man formation. It hung slightly back of the other two and at a distance double the distance of the first two objects.

Had there been a fourth object lined up with the other three they would have been perfectly spaced. Like this. * * * * except the far right third object was slightly behind like this. • • * Size and Distance if a circle is 360 degrees and from horizon is 180 degrees then the the two objects were about 5 degrees apart and the third object at 10 degree and slightly back.

My son sighted the first object at 15:40 I caught site of the first one at roughly 15:48 by 15:50 my son left for work he said he seen two and missed the third possibly because by 15:48 they were closer to me than him.

The third object went back up and disappeared while the two continued southeast until I lost sight of them at about 15:55 due to the distance. They were almost directly over head and my neck is sore form looking up so long.

They seemed too slow as by my estimation if you could have seen them from horizon to horizon it would have taken them 30 minutes to make that distance. Between my son and I we watched them for 15 minutes.

Sphere with flashing and brightly colored, tentacled lights. Sat right off the coast, just to the south of LAX for 40 minutes. Was very visible. Object slowly moved west off the coastline.

At times, the object would go into rapidly changing light sequences. It almost seemed like a pattern. Like it was trying to communicate.

I watched the object through binoculars for 15 -20 minutes. It flashed very brightly a few times and then would display color light patterns.

Fake plane, or we have hologram and/or cloaking capability.

Last year I observed a plane with a contrail from a distance of a few miles. I kept my eye on it intermittently and upon returning my gaze upon it it had vanished. It was clear in the sky, there were not clouds or anything else obstructing my sight of it. Trail and all, gone instantly.

Today, while arriving home, I spotted a similar plane and contrail, arising from the West as well. I thought it would make a good reference photo so that in telling the story, people could see what I'm describing rather than have to use their imagination. Grabbed my camera a Canon SX120 PowerShot and aimed at the plane from my backyard. The first photo I zoomed in. Took a second without zoom, for a realistic perspective.

It was now at about 80 degrees angled from me, heading east, and nearly directly above me. Took aim for a third shot. Couldn't locate it. I quickly checked my camera, everything was fine. Lowered the camera to relocate the plane in the sky and it is now go! ne. As before, the sky was cloudless. It was in plain sight, not fading out and getting lost in atmospheric perspective. At the rate it was traveling, it should have remained in sight for a few minutes more. I didn't see it blink out. It was visible and then I suddenly couldn't find it in my camera. There one second. Gone the next.

It happened again. I grabbed someone from the house immediately to corroborate the fact that there was nothing in the sky, that I wasn't missing anything. I knew I wasn't but this was the best I could do next to having a real-time witness.

Bright lights over Torrance.

I drive for a ride sharing company. I picked up a passenger, a girl in her late teens apparently, from the Del Amo Shopping Center in Torrance around 2pm. Heading north on Hawthorne blvd., I noticed an extremely bright white light ahead, about 1000 ft. up. (Bright like the reflection of the sun off a car on a sunny day.) It headed east, about the speed of a helicopter. I turned right on Redondo Beach Blvd., traveling east as well.

As I had a customer on board, I wanted to remain professional, and asked if it was okay if I pulled over for a second. She complied. I parked and stuck my head out the door. The light was now stationary, at about an 80 degree angle from us and northeast.

I then noticed a second light to the right, stationary, at the same height. This one displayed a lattice-like protrusion, with structure inside, but I could see the sky in between its spaces. This "tail" swung counterclock-wise from 2 to 7. No sound from either.

I told my passenger to take a look and grabbed my phone to take a picture and video. It didn't work, informing me that my SD card was full. I know it had plenty of space. I hated to leave, but felt the need to get my passenger home safely. She told me she took video on her phone! I had her send it to me and I will forward it as part of this report.

Later that night, my phone was able to take pictures again, but all the photos that had been stored on it were now gone.

UFO Sighting Report: Nov. 25, 2015 (0535-0540) Torrance CA Shape: Football like shape (bright half halo above the object). My daughters and I watched it move across the Eastern Hemisphere for about 10 minutes. I first noticed the object lights, were white almost clear or translucent. As it moved across the eastern sky the lights changed red and remain a duration of 8 minutes and changed back to white as it move back northeastern and disappear into the clouds. We realized that it was not commercial plane, jet nor helicopter… however, it was “UFO” appearing during the dawn of Tuesday morning. Note: from the car it appeared to be ‘triangle’ from the car. I managed to take photos with my cell phone. Note: saw same image in Santa Monica, California, around 1710...the moon set in the southern hemisphere - same object hoover and shot immediately from where I was walking behind the moon.

The aircraft was in the typical UFO shape and emitted a bright light so the shape could clearly be seen. Two red lights were on the bottom. It was going fast in a northeastern direction, but strangely was a bit close to the city. It was easier to see at a higher altitude, a.k.a. hills.

8 Red-Orange Lights Rising off Redondo Beach, CA coast

Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at about 9:15 pm Pacific Time. Torrance, CA looking west toward the Redondo Beach coastline. There was a marine layer several hundred feet high and appeared to be off the coast.

I stepped out of my house to make sure the cars were locked and noticed a bright red-orange light rising from the horizon. Looking in this direction you can often see aircraft departing from Los Angeles International Airport. I am a pilot so when I saw the odd and very bright light I looked to see if there were any of the flashing position lights normally seen on aircraft. There were none.

As the light rose to what I estimate to be about 1,000 feet I noticed two additional red-orange lights rising from the horizon. I refer to these as lights 2 and 3.

Recognizing this was unusual I called by two adult sons to come witness what I was seeing.

Light #1 dimmed to a faint white light and stopped in the sky at about 2,000 feet. The other two rose together then separated their formation. Light # 2 appeared to track out to sea in the direction of the northern end of Catalina Island. Both dimmed like the first one but could still bee seen. Light 3 continued to rise and stop at roughly the same altitude as Light 1.

This pattern continued with four to six more lights. Some of the lights moved in a straight path. Some changed directions and stopped in one place at times before continuing to move.

I continued watching Light #1, as it approached us. As it got closer it appeared translucent and white. It was wobbling and the closest thing I can describe it resembling is a modern parachute. However, this was no parachute! It passed us to the south and we lost it as it went behind some trees.

Very bizarre!

Triangle with three lights flew over, very low and completely silently.

Family was outside after my cousin's graduation party. It was dark but we hadn't turned any lights on to avoid the June-bugs. We were looking up because my uncle had an application on his phone that showed the various constellations. Then, from one side of the sky I thought I saw movement, but it was hard to focus on what was going on (whatever it was blended perfectly with the light-polluted sky). I pointed at it and told everyone to look. It flew directly over us. No sound. I wouldn't have been able to see it had it not been for the lights that appeared on the corners. What was strange is that the lights appeared to be facing inward towards the center of the aircraft itself. As it flew over I was become annoyed by the fact that nobody was saying anything, so I asked, "Is anybody seeing this!?" Two of my cousins replied exuberantly, with a hint of horror (which I understand completely, because this was really a strangely terrifying experience). It disappeared a few seconds later into the light pollution coming up off the horizon.

The people who saw it were myself (a 16 year old high school student), my cousin (an 18 year old who just graduated), my second-cousin (also a high school student), and another second-cousin (also a high school student). Also present were our parents, and two other cousins, all of which did not see it themselves.

I noticed up ahead a bright two spheres flying, at first I thought airplanes but they were tiny comparing to a plane size. Looking directly at them I saw the bright light spheres to be what seemed to be shiny silver spheres. It wasn't real large [huge] but wasn't tiny either.

I grabbed my cell phone and turn the camera on when I looked again they disappeared.

Large Bright object over the sea CA

ball of light over the ocean. should be too bright at 7:16pm to see any "stars." light was several hundred feet in the air at a distance of about 20-30 miles (difficult to judge distance accurately over water) extremely bright flickering object hovering. within 10 min 2 small jets (what a assume where jets) approached the object from the north. both pilots made two passes in a oval pattern around the object before returning north, the entire time maintain a reasonable rate of acceleration.

At 7:29pm the Bright object lowered in altitude by a few hundred feet at a very slow pace, stopped and made a 90 degree turn at impossible speed traveling north. The object crossed the span of my visible horizon within 1sec. The rate of speed and distance traveled was not at all congruent with current aerodynamic understanding. no noise of any kind was hear. no sonic boom.

Few days later No radio (scanner,SW,IPC,Am/fm)/tv(domestic/international)/media communication of any kind seen in the following days.

3 to 5 orange lights hovering in night sky and then slowly rising and moving into clouds in a cyclic pattern

I was riding my bike home from tennis and stopped by Taco Bell to get something to eat at about 8.45 in the evening on April 11th 2013 in South Torrance, CA. As I was leaving Taco Bell on my bike I noticed an orange object hovering in the sky to the south at about an angle of 45 degrees to me. It seemed fairly close, and I would guess within a mile. It was hovering over the hills just south of Pacific Coast Highway.. It was unusual I thought so I stopped riding my bike and began to watch it. It stayed stationary for approximately a minute when it began to move slowly upwards into the sky which was slightly cloudy. It got fainter as it got higher into the clouds until it was about to disappear. During this rise I noticed a what I thought at the time was a plane flying low into view in the same general area off to the right. As it got closer I realized it had the same coloration of the previous object. An orange perhaps slightly red color. it proce! eded to the same spot in the sky that the previous object had hovered and stayed there for perhaps a minute or so. There were no blinking lights on either of these objects, just an orange color the shape of which I couldn't make out. (I didn't have any glasses on which would have helped me to see them more clearly) This second object too began to rise higher into the sky and about this time 2 more object flew into view to the lower right and proceed to the same spot in which the first two had hovered, and they too hovered in that spot for several minutes, both slowly moving while hovering. These eventually disappeared also. And I proceeded the remaining half mile to my apartments down the street. I looked back before heading in, and saw another orange light of the same type in the same general area and watched it for about 5 minutes. A person walked by as I was watching and asked me if I saw it too, and I said I did.

I can only speculate on what I saw, but it is very intriguing and I hope to get more information on this sighting. I at first thought it could be a hot air balloon, but then when it moved upwards into the clouds and others flew into the area I ruled this out. The other normal explanation I have thought of is that perhaps they were a group of people flying helicopters in a cyclic pattern for some unknown reason (Perhaps to simulate a UFO event). I didn't see any red or green blinking lights in the objects, and I am not sure if I saw any white lights. It was predominantly orange. I do not remember hearing any noise coming from that direction, though I am not sure if I would have been close enough or not to hear any if they were helicopters. When I got back to the hot tub at the apartment right after the sightings, I asked if any one else had seen them an one man in the hot tub said he had seen an orange object in the sky about 10 minutes earlier. The whole sighting ! laster perhaps 15 minutes. There were at least 3 objects involved in this sighting and as many as 5. I saw 3 at one time after the first disappeared, and the fifth 5 minutes later.

It kept flashing and moving north and I saw approx. 7 flashes total. It looked as if a huge flash camera was snapping shots from above. There was no noise and I went outside and saw nothing.

August 10th, 2012 at 12: 20 AM. I was driving north along the El Camino College campus road when I stopped at a stop sign.

I was staring up at the sky in the west when I saw what looked like a star but was moving at the speed of a commercial airliner. It’s flight pattern was at an angle and was heading from south to north.

When it reached a certain height it’s white light went out but seemed to flicker like a dying bulb before doing so. It then changed direction. From south to north to east. This time flying at a level plane.

I saw that it was headed in my direction so I waited till it was above me. When it was overhead of me it was far away but I was able to see that it looked like a grey bubble or blob that was spinning like a saucer.

All this time Ive been stopped at the stop sign though no signs of any auto failure. The nearest cross street was Marine Ave and I facing North on Crenshaw Blvd. It was also a very clear night sky. The moon was also very visible in the east side of the sky. I believe it was a Third Quarter moon. I didn’t see any one else around who might have been staring at this also.

It continued to fly East. I would have stayed out longer than I did to watch it but I was in a hurry.

Definitely one of those moments where a good camera and some photography skills would have been great to have.

Reddish orange orb over Torrance, CA

On July 22, 2012, at roughly 8:40 pm, in Torrance, CA, 90505, I had just arrived home after a walk and looked up at the eastern sky and immediately noticed a reddish orange spherical light. It approached me at an altitude approximately the same as that of small aircraft, which were flying at the same time. Its size was about twice that of a small airplane’s red light. The Torrance airport is 2 miles north, (plus LAX is 15 miles north) and there are frequent landings/takeoffs, so I thought that it might just be another airplane. Airplanes usually have white lights in addition to red ones, so I remarked that this object only had a red light. I did not hear any unusual noises.

This object was too bright to be a star or Mars. It was dusk and there were no stars in the sky yet. The light did not flash off and on. It oscillated slightly in brightness in a pulsating fashion. It did not twinkle like a star. The light glowed and had a very faint circular haze around it. It approached my position and flew roughly from east to west slowly, at about the same speed as small aircraft. This object’s trajectory indicates that it was not a flare. I saw it fly for about 3-4 minutes and then it stopped. It remained stationary for about 30 seconds then the light slowly faded out and disappeared. I did not see a structure in addition to the light.

The most unusual part of my observation was the sudden fading out of the light. If the light did not fade out I would have dismissed the light as an airplane. I did not see any other observers near me. This was the second UFO I have witnessed, both in the Los Angeles area.

A giant bird flying across Torrance.

We were sitting in the dinning room when all of a sudden a shadow passed from the backyard. I was sure it was something big flying. There were three of us and we all saw the shadow. it took me a while ( less than a minute) to convince my self to check the sky to see what could have caused it. There were no clouds in the sky and I was amazed to what I saw. it was about 3 miles away from where I was standing but I could still see the size of it like it was just a small bird flying across the street. I was sure it was not a plane because I could still notice the wings flapping and the way it turned around. I tried to call the other two friends but they couldn't hear me. so I went to the door to call them but as soon as they got out, we could not see it anymore because of the house blocking the view.

Hi! I live about 7 miles southwest of LAX. Usually planes do not fly over me. They usually fly around south of me around Palos Verdes because of noise ordinances. Normally, we have, in the Southbay a heavy marine layer from the ocean, so seeing stars is a real treat when can. Last night I was cleaning my house. It was about 9pm at night. I wasn't tired. But, I went out on the balcony to shake out some rugs in my house. I stopped to notice the marine layer gone and how beautiful the stars were that evening. I look up towards Venus,the largest star. There was about 4 stars around Venus. I had my direction directly above and low and behold there was something moving. It had no lights that were very bright. And it appeared totally black. Against the black sky, one would have missed it if they were not looking directly at it. It moved at a normal airplane pace but there was no noise. My line of site followed it. If I looked away, I probably might have lost it. It! was heading northwest towards LAX. As I tried to make out this opaque plane, I could tell there were 6 dim lights on the bottom of it. These lights followed a triangular pattern. My gaze followed it until I could not see it anymore. My first thought was that it was heading towards Vandenburg air force base. We frequently get a lot of rockets and entrails around that direction. My second thought was that it was some kind of military drone. But, why the triangular shape? And it was silent, totally silent. Or, maybe the stealth bomber? not sure.

Flying object with flashing lights , traveling at great speed, observed flying NW and returning to point of origin.

One flying object observed 02/01/2012 @ 19:00 PST.

Description: Two steady lights, two flashing lights, each at equidistant perpendicular distances from the center of the line connecting the two steady lights. Left thick trail of fumes behind it (possibly a military jet? Not ruling out possibility) Altitude: Seemed substantially higher than jets (two planes flew by a few moments later, at a more normal altitude, which added to the mystery of the observed object) Flight path: Headed NW, then changed direction abruptly to N. At 19:13, we observed it travel back to the direction it came from (SE).

Speed: Surprisingly fast for a plane, which is what initially captured our interest. Traveled the entire horizon of our view in under a minute. Travelling "back" it seemed to be going a bit slower, did not change direction.

amber redish light over southern california

It was around 1:35 in the morning when my nephew went in to the house after droping his girlfrind home. He came in and asked me to come out side with him to look at this light he saw in the sky. We both went out side and started to check out the light. At the begining I thought it was a plane but then I notice that it was not since it didn't have any of the strobe light blinkers only the redish amber light surronding it. It moved straight really slowlly then it moved to the right it stoped for about 1 to 2 minutes, then it started to move left really slowly. We then saw that the craft starting to drop some kind of smaller lights the same color we counted about five or so. It was also making some king of pulsating huming noice. All of a sudden the lights went from amber red to bright white lights for about 15 seconds. The craft keeps moving east at a steady slow speed droping a few more amber lights then the craft started to get higher until it dissapear, unf! ortunately we did not have a camera to take pictures or video tape it.

Early morning Sighting in Torrance CA from 110 Fwy Pulsing Stationary object

I was travelling north on the 110 (Harbor Fwy) on my way to work through dense coastal fog. The object caught my eye at about the 10:00 position to my left at about 45 degrees and about the size of a pea held at arms length.

The light was whitish yellow and pulsing at approximately 5 second intervals. At first I thought I was seeing one of the local refineries burning off gas because the light appeared to be stationary and quite bright and was indistinct through the fog.

As I drove north I would lose sight of it behind some of the buildings located along the freeway which indicated to me that its height was relatively low.

The closer I got to the 405 fwy intersection the closer I got to the object until I got almost directly underneath the it.

I rolled my window down and was able to watch it for about 5 seconds due to slow conditions in the fog on the freeway.

I see the Goodyear blimp almost every day and this was not it, especially at this time of day. I watch the jets come in every day at LAX & Long Beach. This was not a jet. There are all kinds of floating ads all around the freeways but not ones with this kind of size and light.

The shape of the object is difficult to describe but at this point it was as big as a half dollar held at arms length. It was roughly a shoebox shape with dozens of lights randomly and non symmetrically distributed over a “surface” that reminded me of an offshore oil platform, very detailed, with one non blinking red light at the north end of it. No flat or curved surfaces were obvious.

After I drove under it I was unable to view it anymore.

I am a local Aerospace Engineer with 33 year Classified Aircraft experience at Edwards AFB, Palmdale and others.

Glowing/reflective object clears coastline and makes odd movements around airport in Torrance CA

First it is important to let anyone who reads this that I am someone who has always wanted to see the unknown. Therefore I am always trying to debunk what my mind wants me to think.

I live4-5 miles from the Redondo Beach coastline. There is an airport ½ mile from my home, There have been a few times that a plane coming from over the ocean toward the airport seems to glow but I quickly figure out that it must be the sun reflecting off of the water and giving the appearance of a plane glowing. The two times this has happened after a few minutes the plane looses reflection from the water and shows itself.

Today however I was stumped. I wondered, not sure why, outside of the overhang of my carport and looked directly up beyond the airport airspace. I saw what I quickly thought was a plane that had caught the sun that was behind me. My first thought was that this plane must be some aluminum shell picking up every possible reflection it could to give the appearance that this plane was flickering with fire. The reflection was flickering like Morse code or something in that type of pattern. The light moved at normal plane speed from west over the coast line to east about 5 miles past my location, slightly higher than 75% of the planes that come through this area. Once it traveled far from me I expected the reflection to dim but it maintained it’s glow well. I was somewhat perplexed but I still felt it was a plane. At the 5 mile point past my location it turn upward and traveled to a greater altitude, before turning back at what appeared to be around the same speed as many of the! WW11 planes and sesna’s that decentin to the airport landing strip. The glowing golden object came back past the airport heading west and then stopped it’s westwardly movement. It help position for the most part in one area for the next five minutes. There was some minor attitude changes but it maintained a very still and silent hold of it’s position. The moment it stopped movement I was not thinking plane anymore. I was able to go in my house twice to get my phone camera and my digital camera, both times when I came outside it had not moved and continued it Glowing flashes.I made one final dash inside my home begging my girlfriend to come outside, when I came out the last time the object was gone.

Could it have been some type of metallic object like an aluminum balloon that appeared to be farther than it was, therefore it looked like it was traveling at plane speed and it just happened to catch the sun reflection and wind patterns that created its movement? I thought about that at certain point when I did not think it was a plane anymore but when I came out of my home for the third time after a 10-15 second absence the object was gone. Before I went inside it was not moving at all and in 15 seconds it disappeared.

I am not saying it was a UFO, but it was not something I could deduce, and going outside for noreason in the first place is a bit weird.

Silent Black Silvery Triangular Object with red light visible undernearth to 1 of 3 witnesses vanishes 12/1/2009

On December 1, 2009, two friends and I were leaving a restaurant at Del Amo Mall in Torrance, California. We were the last patrons to leave and the well-lit parking lot was pretty deserted.

As we were walking east, I an astronomy buff at heart decided to show my friends the constellation Orion, whose belt was directly overhead. I was standing in the center with witness two to my left and witness three to my right.

As I pointed to back Orion’s left foot (from my viewpoint), out of my left peripheral (north) I could see a triangular shaped object with a massive tailwind. The tailwind was more than 10x the size of the object; it caught all of our attention.

I began to dialogue with my friends asking if they could see the object and they both agreed that could. We all conferred that it was approaching. On the northeast side of the mall complex there is a parking structure.

The object approached rapidly and silently over the structure. While standing there, I asked if they seen a large black silvery (similar to Hematite) triangular object with slightly rounded corners. They again answered yes.

The object silently flew over our heads covering Orion, the size of the object, the distances away above us, or how much time passed is hard to describe. It felt close but seemed far above, I tried to size it as it was approaching with my arm extended upwards, and it was the size of my hand making the letter "C".

Again, I began to describe the object to my friends as it headed south towards the mountainside of Palos Verdes, CA (not sure actual name of the mountain range) and I asked did they see a red illuminated circle underneath the bottom closer to one of the points of the triangle.

They did not see the red light; the red light was very visible to me. As it neared the mountainside we watched it for a while longer (not sure how long) and it disappeared before getting to the mountainside. It felt as though this was possibly t! hree minutes longs.

A few minutes later two helicopters appea! red clos e to where the object disappeared, they were substantially smaller than the object and we could hear them faintly.

There is an airport east of the mall but this object vanished with us all facing south. We talked about it for a while in the parking lot. Jumped in our cars and went home.

Gray/Green UFO sighting withe multiple lights around it, in Torrance, California

It was 8:30pm on Friday night, 2/20/09. My brother saw the craft up close and ran back home to get his camera. We took pictures on our rooftop. The object was diming its light very low, then very bright about every couple minutes. From what my brother said it was just as big as a comericial airplane or even bigger. It also traveled very fast from east to west. The pictures reveal it to be green and purple, but my brother said it was grey up close. There are other unknown crafts in the picture that we did not see that night. These ones were in triangle formation, and when zoomed in it revealed a saucer with red lights around it. Almost all of the pictures also have little blue dots in them. It then traveled too far for us to take pictures, so we went back inside. When we went back outside 30 minutes later it was gone.

Silent black cylinder approximately the size of a 55 gallon drum flying due West seen directly over Madrona Elementary School at the intersection of Madrona Avenue and Fashion Way/Del Amo Mall. This intersection is exactly .25 mile from the Torrance Police station/Torrance City Hall. The matte black cylinder floated slowly over the school and then the mall at about 800 feet altitude.

I spent 6 years USMC as an Avionics Technician, 6 years Army with Military Intel.

I am currently volunteer firefighter/refinery technician.

Los Angeles - Bright lights seen by 4 witnesses during shuttle reentry. 12-15 bright lights moved around the sky for 20 minutes.

From approximately 12:30pm-1pm on Friday, June 22, two of us left lunch to try to hear the sonic boom the space shuttle was to create as it entered the atmosphere. The shuttle was set to land at 12:49pm at Edward’s Airforce Base, northeast of our location in Torrance, California. We trained our eyes to the north in hopes of catching a glimpse of the shuttle (however improbable that might have been). At 12:45 we hadn’t heard the boom so we went into the restaurant and turned on CNN. The shuttle had yet to land so we went back outside. When we looked to the north we saw what appeared to be 3 very bright lights following a dark object. We assumed that we were looking at escort planes following the shuttle. For about 2 minutes the lights followed the dark object in a triangle formation. Suddenly 3 more lights appeared. Several seconds later 3 more lights appeared and so on. At one point there were about 15 very bright lights in the sky. Two other people walked over and watched in amazement as these lights moved. Most of them were moving from north to south but some appeared to alter their course, moving east and west. After several minutes all but 3 lights disappeared, as did the dark object. One light stayed fixed in the same position while two others passed overhead (at what appeared to be a very high altitude). We thought that maybe something terrible had happened to the shuttle and we were looking at pieces of debris. We rushed back inside to see that the shuttle had safely landed. When we went back outside the lights were gone.

Possible Explanations: 1) The lights could have been shiny balloons. However: -Some of the lights changed direction moving west and east. Most were moving southeast.

-It was a sunny day and these objects were very bright in the sky. The two that passed overhead were still bright as they passed near the sun.

-Some appeared to be moving in a triangle formation. They split apart then came back together.

-They did not appear to be rising nor losing their intensity over time.

-The lights did not flicker like balloons would as they rotate in the sky.

2) The lights could have been airplanes. However: -They were all the same size the whole time we observed them. Even the lights that went overhead appeared to be the same size as the ones further away.

-They did not move like airplanes. One stayed completely stationary throughout the 10-15 minutes we watched them. Some moved quickly, others slowly.

-Two groups of 3 appeared and disappeared in unison.

-They were not reflective like airplanes. Other planes going to and from LAX flew by and would only reflect light for several seconds at a time. The two strange lights that passed between us and the sun stayed illuminated the whole time. All of them were much brighter than you would expect from normal airplane reflections.

3) It could have been debris/fuel/waste from the shuttle. However: -The lights did not fade over time like you would expect to see from debris burning up.

-They did not leave a trail.

-Some lights were moving quickly while the single one remained stationary. Some also appeared to fly in formation.

There were four of us that witnessed the event. The only rational explanation we could come up with is that they were shiny, helium filled balloons. I’ve seen balloons in the sky before and, because of the reasons I outlined earlier, I truly don’t believe in this hypothesis. It is also a very strange coincidence that this would have happened at the same time and place the shuttle would have been reentering the atmosphere.

Did anyone else see anything like this?

An oval-shaped flying object appeared on one of my photographs that i have taken for school's yearbook duty.

I was going through old photographs today (1/1/07) and found three weird photographs. In first photograph, the flying object appears to be a dot in left hand side. And on the second photograph, flying object is on upper right hand side. Finally, on the third photograph, oval-shaped flying object is cleary visible on the photograph. The incident happened when i was taking photographs for my school's yearbook photos. The photographs were taken within 1 minute time period. Some of my friends insisted that it is an advertisement baloon, but i do not think there is no advertisement baloon that can travel considerable amound of distance within just a minute. My friends also made a good argument on the photograph. On the third photograph, there are two boys looking up to the sky and posing as if they have thrown something in the air. My friends assumed that flying object is an object that those two have thrown in to the air. However, in previous two photographs I could not find those two people carrying any visible and significant oval-shaped object. I do not recall seeing that object because it happend to quick and it happend three months ago.

Cloaked UFO shadow seen on low cloud layer

In mid May of 2006 while watching light aircraft on low final approach to Torrance airport from my location about 2 miles East of the airport, I suddenly noticed a blimp sized shadow on a low layer of clouds a few miles to the West moving slowly.

Since the Goodyear blimp operates in the South Bay area of Southern California I started looking for it between the sparse cloud layer and the sun that was visible above and to the left of the clouds from my position.

To my surprise, nothing was there. Since the sun was fully visible and the clouds were thin I couldn't understand how the blimp was casting a shadow if it itself wasn't visible where it should be located.

As I watched the shadow, it headed slowly to the North changing shape as it moved over the edges of the scattered clouds as one would expect to see from a large moving object above them creating the shadow.

The cloud layer wasn't too large so the shadow finally disappeared as it left the layer on the right after about 30 seconds. I continued to watch for anything that could have created the shadow thinking it would appear out of the sun maybe or was obscured by the clouds. Nothing was ever seen in the sky for the 15 or so minutes I continued to watch and no other clouds were in the sky that afternoon at any level that could have caused the shadow.

No sound was ever heard and considering the size of the shadow and the estimated four to five thousand foot cloud layer, from past experiences if it had been the blimp I'm sure I would have heard it as it would have been upwind of my location and not all that far away.

This "sighting" has haunted me for months now without an explanation and I am submitting it in the hopes that someone else around this time period may have witnessed it as well.

I consider myself to be a credible witness being a private pilot with a passion towards anything that flies. I've seen lots of "strange" things in the sky but can usually figure out what they are with some time and logic. This one has me totally baffled however.

Driving home from work, from the corner of my eye, I noticed a grid of lights to my upper left. It was already dark, a clear night. I was driving alongside the Harbor Freeway (110) and this structure, fairly reminiscent of stadium lights, sat above it. I pulled into the large Alpine Village parking lot to observe. It was square and thin, and I always thought it matched a CD jewel case in dimension ratio-wise. It appeared black in the night sky, with circular white lights that ran in rows throughout the bottom, with one pulsing red light in the center. It was low, about 250-300 feet above the freeway, and would probably be covered by 3/4 of my hand extended as I watched from about 150 yards away. It was about 25 feet on each side. I could hear no sound. And traffic flew by on the freeway below, as this thing didn't really appear all that unusual. But I wondered what purpose a light grid served that high over the freeway. It was completely still, no wobble or sway, as if it were attached to a pole. After a minute of suspension, it cruised south in a straight line over the freeway , about 30 mph and stopped. A moment later it traveled north again about 1/3 of the way back. Stopped briefly again, then headed east towards the city of Carson, slowly, and dipped it's left side and straightened out again. I decided to give chase, but my car was in poor condition and soon lost it.

OBJECT BLACKER THAN THE SKY HOVERING ABOVE GIANT POWER LINES

I LIVE UP AGAINST A NURSERY WITH THOSE GIANT POWER LINES THAT RUN THROUGH THEM, AND THE OBJECT WAS ABOUT 15 OR SLIGHTLY MORE, FEET HIGHER THAN THE TOP OF POWER LINE.

IT SEEMED TO JUST FLOAT THERE. THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ON IT AND IT WAS VERY BLACK,BLACKER THAN THE SKY. first looked like a hellicopter moving around with real bright red white and blue light so i got out a pair of 35 x binoctulares still hard to see whent to a 60 x spotting scope and wow flashing spinning orb so i brought out a 8 " netonian reflector scope and looks like a plasma ball with wild colors and let my wife and kids see it plused many time and in a few minets could see a shape looks like a sunflower seed with disharge from center to outter edges moves fast and sits up and down side to side the discharge is subsided and a dark round spot in center with multi colored electrical discharge witnessed buy me my wife and son and dauther it south in the skys

Saw four lights moving in a chevron formation moving VERY fast, east to west through cloudless sky making no sound whatsoever.

Having seen two very bright flashes in the sky, (similar to lightning without thunder), I was watching for more and listening for sirens thinking that the flashes were caused by a traffic accident nearby. Looking up into the cloudless sky, I observed four lights, slightly dimmer than stars, moving east to west at a tremendous speed. It could have been either four objects in formation or one object with four lights in a chevron pattern. This craft was MUCH faster than an airliner and was out of sight in about seven seconds. There was no sound; in fact, I had noticed before this that there were no planes (large or small) or helicopters in the sky, which is unusual for this area.

Never did find out what caused the flashes.

I watched what I thought was an exhaust trail in the sky over Torrance as it moved, changed shape and color in the sky

On Tuesday, May 29, I was driving in the South Bay area of Los Angeles county throught the city of Torrance. I had driven east on Sepulveda Blvd and turned north onto Madrona (Prairie Ave), traveling north. As I was passing Del Amo Fashion Mall, I casually glanced up at the sky and saw what I first thought was the exhaust trail of a jet plane. I was going to dismiss it but it looked kind of odd. It was white and kind of short and stubby looking, like the plane had just turned on the exhaust. The shape reminded me of the forked tail of a bird. The thing that was most unusual was that it appeared to be at an angle that looked like the "jet" was diving. This was an angle of about 60 degrees or more from the horizion. It was sighted to my left, northwest of where I was driving. I thought it was somewhere near LAX Airport or over the ocean near the airport. Because of that angle, I began to keep my eye on it because it looked like something that was crash-diving. I thought that it may be a meteor or space junk re-entering the atmosphere but it did not appear to move. The trail did not get any longer and it did not dissapate. It did appear that the two tails were merging into one. At this time I looked at my clock and the time was 7:55 PM PDT. When I noticed that this "exhaust cloud" had not moved I paid closer attention because it did not act like a jet or anything leaving an exhaust trail behind. Then at about 8:00 the exhaust cloud appeared to move! At first I thought it was an optical illusion since I was still driving so I closed my eyes quickly and then looked back at it and it was moving! The whole "cloud" had began to move! What I thought was the leading end (pointing downward) started to arch around, pulling the whole "cloud" with it into a horizontal line! As it moved it began to glow and changed colors from white to a bright orange-white line that then remained stationary in the sky glowing orange-white. At this point I came to a stop light where there were cars ahead of me that cau! sed the view to be obscured. When we started to move again, this "line" was still horizontal to the ground but it also seemed to be lower in the sky than before. Unfortunately as I moved toward Hawthorne CA, the houses and trees were more dense so it was more difficult to see this object. I continued to sight it until I reached the area of Marine Ave and Prairie Ave where it was then obscured by trees and buildings. I stopped at my home for less than 5 minutes and then tried to spot it again as I drove toward the 105 freeway but I could no longer see the object. I don't know how it moved away or if it did but it was no longer visible.

White/silver round balloon like object that behaved uncharacteristically of a balloon over SW Los Angeles by moving up and down.

I saw only one object that was silver in color and round or spherical in shape. It appeared to be a baloon at times but did not behave like one at other times. It stayed in one spot for awhile then moved East slowly. Then appeared to change altitude and hover before moving more East. Then it moved faster and stayed at the same elevation until it was several miles to the East of me. At this time it moved faster and higher and a little South. It went out of sight to the East of me and I was never sure that it really was a balloon. This report is to see if any one else saw it better than me and reported it. Thank you, 9(name deleted))

Bright daylight sightinh of disk shaped opject moving westward, taking a turn northward and climbing out of sight.

Saturday, April 15th, at 3:35 PM, my girlfriend and her son were driving east on Lomita Blvd. in Torrance California near the intersection of Lomita and Hawthorne Blvd. when they witnesses a silvery object at about 30 degrees off the horizon slightly north of due east. They were on their way to my office and were only a couple of minutes from my front door when they spotted it. The object was about 1/8" diameter at arms length and was clearly visible. The sky was absolutely clear with no smog or clouds. It was described to me by her son, who is 12 and a half years old as a saucer shaped object with a line at its girth separating the top half from the bottom. Interestingly, the top half was described as rotating on its axis while the bottom was stationary to the top. My girlfriend's son also described some purple and blue flashes that were being emitted from the surface of the object. He described these as flashes that would have the perspective as if you were looking into a tunnel. After viewing the video, these are clearly visible. Also, from his vantage point where he saw the object lower on the horizon, these would have been more in direct line with his line of sight and would have given him this tunnel perspective view. In contrast to this view, my video shows the object directly from its bottom. The object was hovering motionless for several seconds when two airplanes crossed ahead of it. These two airplanes were seen by both the mother who was driving and the son. Immediately after the planes crossed each other's paths, the object disappeared from view until the two planes were a fair distance away. It then re-appeared and began moving westward into the wind direction. Upon arriving at my office, they both frantically called out to me to get my video camera out, that there was a UFO. I immediately grabbed my camera and went out to take a look and hopefully get a shot. When I first viewed it, it was about 65 degrees off the horizon looking due east. I was in the parking lot of my office complex situated directly at the corner of Lomita Blvd. and Madison. I took my 5X telephoto lens with me to make sure that I got a good close up shot of it. It was climbing steeply and getting smaller very quickly as it moved westward. It was very hard to get a fix on it with my long lens. I simply couldn't find it fast enough, so I laid down on the pavement to steady the camera pressing my elbows against my ribcage. I found it and got about 4 seconds of video and quickly lost it again. In my video, it appears that the UFO is jumping around, but it was in fact moving very steadily. It continued west for about ten seconds, then took a fairly sharp turn to the north, crossways to the wind. It continued north with apparent slowing as it was climbing very fast until it was out of sight. I immediately took the video into my office where I have several computers and image processing programs. Upon looking at it, I not only got a very good shot of the object even though it was nothing more than a speck in the sky, but was able to get a few good frames of these purple and blue flashes that my girlfriend's son had described. When I looked at with my naked eye, I did not notice these probably because the object was so small. I took some of the frames and began doing some computer enhancements using only the hue, saturation, brightness, contrast, histogram, midtone enhancements and so on to bring out what detail that might be obtainable from the unchanged original video frame. I own an engineering company and have won several photography awards with the Kodak International Snapshot competition and PSA the Photographic Society of America.

Was setting up my telescope and seen something off to the side that was blocking out the stars..it was a huge perfect Triangle with a white light at each tip and emanating a silky-wavy force around its edges.

no noise at all...also seemed to have a small chase plane off its port side...because if this was a chase than this meant this craft was three times bigger than the B-2 bomber.

At dusk coming from the ocean

In 1965 coming from the south over the ocean there were groups of 3 flew over the house on 2 nights in a row at the same time. As it became dark they hovered for 15 minutes and dropped something from the UFO but dissipated before hitting the ground. No noise and they were round and had several different colors. My father had worked for an aerospace company as an engineer and said this was not anything that he’s ever seen, he called the police and had trouble getting through and after a couple of minutes was able to get through and they stated that they had hundreds of calls.
