3 white lights or orbs heading west toward the pacific

This is my first ever sighting.

Left home at 7:42pm, walked north partway up the block. Clear night overhead, so I stopped to admire Orion’s belt, and then saw an airliner flying south, probably en route to LAX. When I lowered my eyes from the airliner, I saw three white lights overhead slowly flying west in what appeared to be a triangular formation. They made no noise, which seemed to rule out small aircraft, helicopters, or commercial drones. Returned home at 7:53pm.

The lights were haloed/fuzzy, but not highly luminous white, which might be due to the marine layer, but the halos did not suggest the presence of hard physical craft. Judging by the angle of observation, and their height relative to a nearby building, I estimate they were flying at an altitude of 500-1,000 feet. It seemed the rear or bottom two lights in the triangular formation were following the lead or top one, but each of these two swayed a bit left and right under/behind the one on top, suggesting they were not all part of a single rigid entity, but were three separate entities flying in fairly close formation. The overall movement of the three was somewhat charming to watch, as these slight maneuvers gave the impression of modest interaction. I was able to observe them only for about 15-20 seconds, at which point they diminished in size as they flew away, until they disappeared completely into the marine layer, and out over the western horizon.

While driving, I saw a dark metallic orb hovering above the tree line.

I was driving, headed from the I-405 towards Ocean Ave on Wilshire Blvd in Santa Monica, CA around 4:00pm. It was a bright sunny afternoon with no clouds in the sky, and suddenly in front of my car maybe 50 ft above the tree line I saw a perfectly spherical orb hovering. It was almost black against the sky, but had a slight metallic sheen to the surface. It was hard to tell whether or not it was moving, but it appeared to be hovering at a fixed altitude as I was driving. It quickly passed out of my view as I was realizing what I was looking at, and when I looked behind me expecting to see it in my rear view as I kept going, it was gone. I didn't see it again.

A glowing orange football shaped object that hovered then flew directly towards my window and low over my apartment.

In Santa Monica, California, on the afternoon of February 13, 2023 I noticed a very bright orange glowing football shaped object through my window hovering across the street against the background of a large tree with a lot of foliage. It was about 12 -15 feet below the tree top. It seemed to simply appear. I could not figure out what it was so I kept staring at it for a minute or two. Then it flew directly in a straight line toward my window and me. It was low and passed over my apartment. I wanted to go out and watch it but knew the view would be obscured. There were no lights on it and no means of propulsion. It was not a balloon. It only occurred to me that it might have been a UFO afterwards. I had no thought of taking a photo of it while it was happening. I did not expect it to move from where I first saw it. I called the non emergency police department phone line on Thursday, Feb. 16, curious if anyone else reported it, but no one did.

4 white lights in a diamond shape, expanded, contracted and flew towards the ocean.

I was outside laying down looking up to the sky. I saw many commercial airlines and a few smaller planes on their flight path of North to South. The lower ones coming into LAX. I noticed their size. Coming from the east to the west over the ocean I saw 4 white lights in the shape of a diamond directly above me. It appeared to be a bit larger than the commercial airlines but seemed so much higher up. It expanded its shape but retaining the diamond but shifted a bit then contracted back and flew towards the ocean. It was moving much faster than any plane I had seen and much faster than any plane is capable of flying. When I first saw it I instantly knew it was different than anything I had ever seen before. And I commented "What in the world is that?" My friend who could not see it said from what I described he felt it was a ufo. He had a sighting a few years back but it was just one light and its behavior was unlike any flying object of earth origin.

I took videos and photos of a ufo that was spinning and hovering with unusual lights that changed color and bursted

I woke up at 4:30 and was drawn to my balcony. I looked at the night sky and saw the object. I stared at it for a while trying to figure out what it was. I finally grabbed my phone and took photos and videos of it. I’ve never seen anything like it. It was hovering for a long time. It was spinning and the lights kept changing. The lights were unusual and would burst occasionally. The camera movements are mine as I was trying to hold still to capture the object best I could. I finally went back to bed even though it was still there. One of the photos is time lapse.

Pulsating Rainbow Orb in Night Sky

After witnessing an unexplainable phenomenon in the night sky a few nights before, I decided to observe the night sky again facing the same direction. To my delight, a strange, rainbow orb appeared in the sky that was extremely different than the moon and the other stars in the sky. I recorded the pulsating rainbow orb on my phone and compared it to its neighboring objects in the night sky. I cannot explain what it is.

Tic-Tac Shaped matte object quickly moves across the sky headed towards ocean.

I was sitting on a Hotel Balcony just after sunset. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the ocean. Noticed the object traveling very quickly from east to west. The few clouds in the sky were still slightly orange which is why I was able to see it. The light slightly bends around the tic tac shaped object, like a diffused glow from the orange in the sky. The object was moving faster than anything I have ever seen and was clearly tic-tac shaped. I've never seen anything like it and was extremely skeptical prior to this experience.

Silent, oblong-shaped bioluminescent-colored glowing disc observed flying northwest toward Santa Monica Mountains at dawn.

At 6:39 a.m. on Sunday morning (Dec. 15th 2019), I was walking down the alley behind our apartment in mid-city Santa Monica, California to my car. The sun was not out yet, but it was already easy to see outside.

As I neared my vehicle, I observed a wingless, flying craft at an approximately 2000-foot (600m) altitude traveling in a northwest direction toward the Santa Monica mountain range.

The craft, had an an oblong disc shape, much like a horseshoe crab (without a tail). It was wingless, silent and traveling rapidly. It was glowing a bioluminescent-like blue-green color. The color definitely seemed to emote from within, not from exterior lights or a reflection. It was more reminiscent of a deep-sea creature than a flying vehicle.

As the sky was already a faint hue of blue, it was easy to see there were neither wings or propellers on the craft. There was a faint white shadow-trail following it, giving it more of a teardrop appearance than it actually had. This did not appear to be exhaust, but something more electrical or energy oriented.

My best estimate on craft size is 10-40 feet (4m-12m) in diameter flying at 1500-3000 feet (450m-900m ) at velocity of 400-600 (650km-960km) miles an hour.

I did not see windows, but there appeared to be four folds in the material of the crafts underbelly, appearing as barely visible lines going from front to back.

I looked online a few hours later and expected to see hundreds of eyewitness testimonies, but saw none. From earth or beyond, I would really like to know what this thing was.

We saw a first fireball that broke in 2 pieces and kept moving south while the second light started moving in spirals.

We saw a pretty big fireball moving south emitting a large smoke trail, bigger than a smoke trail emitted by a F-16. After a minute or so it released a second, smaller light/fireball, as it happens when a meteorite breaks in the stratosphere. The weird thing from a meteorite is that the first light kept moving ahead emitting a trail very similar to that of a comet (triangular bright trail) and stopped emitting the original smoke trail, while the second smaller light started composing spiral movements while slowing proceeding south (much slower than the first fireball). After a minute the second light vanished and the first, bigger fireball kept going south until it went out of our sight.

Silver almost transparent looking objects over Santa Monica, CA 90401.

Parked on Pacific Coast Highway 1 and Topanga Canyon Looking over Santa Monica CA Pier skyline.

Just over the City moving towards the Santa Monica Pier 3 objects.

All objects moved together but not just forward. It seems they were in rotation.

The sun was very bright but already high enough in the sky.

The only reason I saw these silver almost transparent looking objects was due to the sun glasses and a dark tint over the top portion of my windshield. Watching these for a little bit trying to understand what I am looking at.

After I jumped out of my car with my iPhone to record. Objects were gone. Jumped back into my car and could not see them anymore. No blinking lights. Nothing. Just transparent silvery looking objects.

Could be weather balloons. However seems very large and self propelled.

A group of round bright orange lights moving silently and slowly across the sky in what appeared to be part of a larger craft.

Dec 12th, while listening to Coast to Coast, I heard the tail end of Peter talking about a UFO sighting with "orange circular lights." I think I saw this same thing in the sky in Santa Monica, not too long ago. I am not sure of the date; I think it was Sept 28th, at about 9:25pm. I was at my yoga class and could see a small portion of the sky from where I was at the back of the room. I was near the glass wall near the door.

During class, I started to see a few, (about 4-5) bright orange orb-like, glowing disks, moving across the sky. The lights looked like they were part of a large full circle, but I could not see the full circle because of a roof hindering my full view of the sky. They were slow moving, if I had to guess… about 20 mph, they were silent, and seemed relatively close, i.e., they seemed closer than a small plane would fly. I remember staring at them from inside and wondering what they could be. Finally, I stepped into the courtyard to get a better look. I stared as long as I could until they moved over the roof and out of my sight. The direction it seemed to come from was northwest and heading to southeast... or just west to east. However, I cannot be sure because I only saw a portion of the full circle (if there was a full circle.) There was a slight variation in the distance between each orange light, too.

I remember thinking: I will certainly find out what it was on the news because many people HAD to have seen the same thing.

I am positive it was a UFO, even when I was looking at it, I was certain. I wasn't frightened, however, which was good.

From my top deck, I saw a phalanx of spectacular bright golden lights, sometimes as many as thirty, ascending slowly over the ocean.

I was in the vicinity of Idaho Avenue and 11th street and heard a large aircraft overhead...normally planes moving overhead to get into LAX landing pattern. I looked up and saw a large plane.. possibly 747. Nothing unusual. But about 1 mile away from it, I saw what I first thought were 5 large birds flying in formation. But then I got the feeling that there was something strange...the "birds" were a dim orange and flying a bit too "tight" the distance between them never changed.

So I really focused on what I was seeing and noticed what seemed to be a triangular craft with 5 total lights (the ";birds") flying twice as fast (or maybe even more) than the airplane that first caught my attention. From the moment I observed it (over the Ocean) until it disappeared (somewhere north of downtown LA), it only took about 20 seconds.

Meanwhile, the passenger plane was still very much visible and audible.

A Red Glowing Orb, flying lower than aircraft is allowed. Flying relatively fast but smoothly, too. Flying towards the ocean. After about 10 seconds, it simply vanished into thin air. Just look up Red Orb on any images site, it looks just like many of those images taken.

It vanished over St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, moving west.

Mulitple successive nighttime formations of round unlit objects in V formations at speed.

Returning home at around 9:30 P.M., I unlocked the door to the open deck which leads to my (top) 2nd floor apartment. The deck provides a generous view of the sky, and my gaze was momentarily drawn toward several aircraft transiting nearby. As we are within 2 miles of the local airport, this is not an unusual occurrence. What was unusual was then noticing what at first appeared to be a V formation (the point toward direction of travel) of balloons flying rapidly over my apartment and disappearing beyond the roof-line.

These were round or oblong objects, silent, non-illuminated, but visible because their somewhat matte surfaces reflected ground light. They appeared to be at an elevation of anywhere from 800 to 6000 feet - difficult to judge in the dark night sky, but even at the lower elevation extreme would have been traveling at a velocity considerably in excess of balloons, birds, or even private aircraft. Of course as there were between 12-14 round, discreet objects in this formation, they were clearly not planes and obviously not birds. Passing overhead, the formation was about the size of 4 fingers held at arms length, flying West to East (from the ocean to inland) and they were visible for about 8-10 seconds.

When first spotted at about 60 degrees above the horizon, they appeared to be a rigid, single, solid object with dim evenly-spaced lights defining a 90 degree angle V, but as they came toward my location I realized they were individual objects, some of which suddenly seemed almost to cavort with one another while still maintaining a loose V formation, though at an overall constant velocity.

I quickly moved to a more unobstructed area of my deck, and was rewarded several minutes later by another formation flying in the same West to East corridor over my home. Several more minutes and a third formation. There was no wind at ground level, so I thought if these are balloons then the jet stream must be mighty low.

By the fourth formation, each one of which varied in total size from approximately 9 to 15 objects, the flight path was no longer overhead and was now Northwest to Southeast.

Another 5-8 minutes, and a Southeast to Northwest formation. I realized then that these could not be balloons as they were flying in opposite directions and at quite a good clip. A sixth formation, now after 10 P.M., flew exactly South to North. Some of these had maintained a fairly fixed, evenly spaced ninety degree formation, while others exhibited the peculiar pooling and scattering behavior as they transited in a looser formation.

My conclusion: it was a busy night overhead. What I saw eludes a conventional explanation i.e. birds, balloons, private or commercial aircraft, known military aircraft - hence this report. I don't therefore assume these to be of extraterrestrial provenance, although that remains one possibility. Secret military aircraft? Possible - but that would be a lot of secret aircraft to throw at one relatively small section of sky in such a short period of time over a densely populated area. Not likely. And not likely I'll ever find out.

Large UFO, comes from over the ocean and then to over the santa monica pier.

I was leaving my job in malibu around 8:59 PM I Was Driving on the PCH headed towards Santa Monica, and then to the 10 freeway. I noticed it was a full moon and something in the sky caught my attention. There was an object in the sky very visible and noticeable. I began to slow my motorcycle down to get a better look at it. The object was circular, with yellow/green lights rotaing in a pattern around it. It appeared to have two separate halves, like a top and a bottom. The object was moving a fair speed and and i began to accelerate on my motorcycle to stay with it. It was a large object, and close to ground. It appeared to be moving and stopping irregular. I came to a stop light at PCH and the Incline, and raised my visor on my helmet to get a better view. The object was silent and the patterns of lights changed once again. At this point the object was pretty much directly above the santa monica pier. I passed through mcluren tunnel and did 80mph all the wa! y home. This object was moving at least two times faster than I, as it moved deeper into mid La. I stayed behind this object as long as i could before it got too far and my exit approached.

This thing was moving too fast to be a blimp, it was too low and quiet to be plane or helicopter. IM not sure what it was but it gave me chill bumps every second it was in my sights. I called santa monica PD when i got home to see if they had any other reports. as of 10 45 PM: No one else reported. This object was too bold and noticeable for anyone not to have seen it.

Two fireballs seen south of Santa Monica.

My wife and I were outside looking at the harvest moon and Jupiter, a few minutes after 9pm on September 22, when two lights became visible to the south-east of us, in the direction of LAX.

At first I thought they were landing lights of jets coming towards us, but as we watched, they became bright orange and fiery, like the exhaust from a rocket launch.

The skies were absolutely clear, and the full moon was lighting up everything so we could see that there was no smoke or contrail coming from the objects.

We watched as the objects appeared to go straight up, then turn in different directions (toward the east and south), as they appeared to leave the atmosphere.

The objects were about the size of half the diameter of a penny at arms length and were about two pennies apart. The observation lasted maybe two minutes.

V shaped formation with orange lights hovers over area and then seemingly vanishes

At some point between 9:30 and 10PM, the only known witness had taken a moment to go out back into the alley and light up a cigarette. Not paying too much attention to what was going on, the witness suddenly realized a larger “V” shaped object in the sky to the immediate west. The object was otherwise undefined except for the formation of orange lights that surrounded two sides of the object as if it were an illuminated flock of geese. Besides being illuminated, this formation seemed to be hovering above and not in particular motion in the night sky (mostly clear skies at the time). After watching the object for a few minutes, the witness ran to his front door and called for his wife to quickly come outside. When the two returned to the area of visibility, the object was no longer visible. A few planes entered the area shortly afterwards. Given the perspective of these known aircraft, it appeared that the unknown object must have been considerably lar! ger and much higher in altitude than the ascending local air traffic. With nothing more seemingly to see, the witness returned to his home. The witness is just under 40 years old and would be considered a credible source.

7-9 lights take a V Shape Formation as they glide in Total Silence - in Santa Monica

We had 2 sightings about 5 minutes apart, the first was very strange, and the second one totally shocked us. I was with my friend and had a sudden impulse to go lay outside in the back yard with some binoculars to look at the stars. We took a blanket and were laying down for a few minutes when something at lightening speed zipped above us no more than 20 feet in a north to south direction. It seemed like a small object but it appeared and was gone within half a second, it almost seemed like a rocket. We were both saw and heard it and almost discounted it until we realized shared details of what we experienced. We heard a faint 'whizzing' sound as it zipped overhead.

The second experience was much more profound and happened a few minutes later. As we discussed the first incident, we noticed about 7-9 lights coming from the south towards the north. There were unlike any lights I have ever seen, they weren't bright, somewhat hazy. At first I thought it was a flock of birds but then I realized there was no flapping, and that I wouldn't see birds so clearly at this hour and at that altitude. Suddenly the lights took a V SHAPE formation as it passed above us in total silence.

That was the most shocking part. It seemed like a giant triangle gliding silently at the edge of the clouds, it seemed quite large. I grabbed my binoculars and looked at it and saw that the lights had a strange geometric shape to them that were identical in each light. (I created an image file that I can email with this submission) I couldn't tell if it was one UFO with 9 lights or 9 lights in a V formation. All we could do was keep exclaiming 'oh my god what is that?' over and over as we watched it disppear on the north horizon. There was a lot of haziness in the light around it as if it was passing through the clouds, my mind literally short circuits when I try to think about it because it does not fit into the framework of anything I understand. Neither of us could get any sleep that night.

A UFO flow over the Santa Monica, Ca area at about 10:38 or 10:39 PM. on a clear and windy night. It was not a plane.

I was standing outside smoking a cig. There are always planes in flying over and past, going towards the LAX airport. So I looked up just to look at the sky. The stars are out tonight, due to very little cloud cover. So it's very, very clear tonight. Anyway, I was looking, west towards the ocean at the sky. I saw two planes off in the distances. Then i moved my eye towards the east and then i stopped and notice a bight light, that seemed to shimmer, yet it had no blinking light, like a planes or small jet, nor was it a helicopter. As soon as i saw it, i knew it was different. I thought maybe it's a balloon, but this had light around it and seemed to coming from it. Yet it had no locked shape or form, sort of round but not. I cannot tell how high it was, but i know it was at least as high as the plane, but it seemed a little higher up. from what i can tell this was not a balloon, nor a plane. It made no sound, not contrail. It moved faster then any plane in the sky, and they’re where at least three planes moving in different directions. It moved much faster then any of them and was across the sky before they where the same distance. I don't know what else to say, other then it was no plane and i have not ever seen anything like this before. It traveled in a straight line or path and yet the wind is blowing pretty strong here, so i don't think it was anything like a balloon.

Rapidly moving rings of light in the sky over Santa Monica, California on New Year's Eve.

At roughly 11pm, while sitting outside, a small group of party-goers witnessed an oddly-shaped formation of lights almost directly overhead, moving east to west. The object appeared to be two interconnected rings of lights on a single object spinning around a "fixed" center. The pattern of lights was somewhat gyroscopic moving around an unidentifiable central shape. The object moved rapidly across the sky. Two people passed it off as airplane lights. However, the rings were clearly moving around one central object and unlike anything I or the other guests have ever witnessed. There was no trail of light or sound that accompanied the object. The object also appeared to move faster than a typical plane, was very hight in the sky, and was not in a typical flight pattern for Los Angeles or Santa Monica Airports. The height of the object made the rings difficult to make out. However, on close study, there were two clearly defined rings of light moving about a central object. The central object could not be seen clearly enough to describe it's shape.

We were driving home at about 11pm March 8th on the pacific coast highway when a large bright light appeared over the santa monica mountains. The air felt electric and when I reached for my cell phone it shocked me! The object first appeared in a circular form and hovered for several moments. We pulled over to get a better view, but it left almost as if our headlights had startled it. As the object left it appeared to change from a circular to a long comet-like form shooting up and away into the sky.

Dark grey sphere over Pacific Coast Highway - Santa Monica CA.

While watching red-tailed hawks from the Palisades Park in Santa Monica CA. observed a dark grey spherical object approximately 500 feet over Pacific Coast Highway. Object caught my attention due to it's lack of motion. I assumed it was a tethered balloon, but given the variable wind conditions along the coast, from the west around 7 to 12 knots, I would have expected some wobbling or other motion from a tethered balloon.

I was facing west and the object was about 80° up from my vantage point. I observed it for about 5 to 10 minutes. I never saw any buffeting you'd expect with having a tethered balloon and variable wind conditions. Size was about a pea at arms distance.

Having a tethered object of any kind in that area would be at the very least reckless as it's common for low flying air craft such as helicopters and ad banner planes to fly through the area. That location is about 2 miles WNW up the coast from the very busy Santa Monica airport and it's common for aircraft to traverse at or below 500 feet going up or down the coast over the ocean to pass the western part of the airport departure route (typically runway 21).

I ran out of time and had to leave the area. Always been a curiosity. Haven't seen any thing similar at that location, but I did see a similar object about 2 months ago, 2 miles inland. I observed it through my 10x80 binoculars. It was partially obscured by some clouds. Probably less than 20 seconds of observation time. Similar attitude.

At first, I thought it was just an errant helium balloon -- we see those floating in the same way often enough. But as we watched, we realized it couldn't be a balloon. The object appeared to be shiny, silver and spherical. We were unable to judge the size or distance, but it did not seem to be moving up or down (as a helium balloon would). It moved across the sky (approx. west to east) at a steady pace and altitude -- perhaps at the speed of an airplane.

Dark grey triangular object cruising slowly north over Santa Monica making loud engine noise

I was outside walking east on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica (near Los Angeles) and saw and heard a flat triangular object that was dark gray heading north. It was making a loud engine noise. It was not going very fast, kind of cruising. I thought it looked strange, but not so strange that it was beyond human technology. It was my impression that it was some sort of plane created by man.

Another person was walking toward me, and he had seen it too, and joked to me that it must have been a stealth plane. If I held a baseball at arm's length, that is about the size of what I saw.

Even though I thought it was strange, I wouldn't assume it was a UFO. But then I heard this object mentioned on the Jeff Rense show, and Peter Davenport and Jeff requested witnesses to describe it, so I have done so.

Dear Mr. Davenport,

Thank you so very much for all that you do to help our global community. I have been a regular to your site for some time now and this is my first time posting a report. However, what I saw and confirmed on April 12th, 2005 forced me to share this with the center in the hopes it will added to the database as a footnote.

Currently the database has 2 reports of a flying triangle over the Los Angeles and Santa Monica area on April 12th at approx. 13:00 (1 o'clock p.m.) What our 2 witnesses were observing was the B-2 Stealth Bomber performing a low altitude fly-by of Dodger Stadium for the opening day ceremonies. I observed the B-2 at approx. 13:07 from my backyard as it headed west towards Santa Monica at very low altitude approx. 700 to 900 ft. , roughly the same altitude as LAPD helicopters, and bank towards the north Santa Monica Mountains. I tried to get a shot of this amazing airplane with my cell phone camera but I was too slow. What caught my attention was the engine noise. Nothing like I've ever heard before. My next door neighbor also witnessed the fly-by. I live in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles, roughly half way between the witness in downtown and the witness to my west in Santa Monica.

Unknown object over Santa Monica, CA.

Sighting took place at Lincoln and Montana street with clear blue skies. When I first sighted the object it looked like a bright white star, at very high altitude, and was motionless. Then it started moving at a steady speed which appeared to be slow, and then stopped and remained motionless again for a couple minutes. It then proceeded to continue on its course when another craft, which looked much smaller and at a higher altitude traveling in a direction toward the first observed craft at a much higher speed, intersected with it and continued on its course until it disappeared. At this point another object that was egg shaped and wingless with no contrail was sighted coming from the south going in a direction towards the first sighted object it did not appear to be chasing the first object or even related to it, the main aspect I noticed was the absence of wings. (Over Santa Monica there is a lot of conventional aircraft traffic and it is easy to see wings even on very high altitude aircrafts). The first craft's flight path consisted of a huge triangle pattern over the skies, covering almost the entire field of view: the first leg of the flight path was the high altitude part in a northerly direction; it had almost traveled out of the field of view when it came to a stop for about five to ten minutes, then changed direction and came back toward us in a southwest path, lowering its altitude, moving slow, getting brighter and bigger until we could observe it as a delta shaped object with constant rotation; a martini glass shape would best describe it (without the stem), with one side of the triangle being rounded and the other two sides coming to a point. While observing the object at this lower altitude and rotation another dot of light object could be seen closing on it and intersecting with it, after which the main craft hovered a while and then started heading northeast, eventually traveling out of sight.

I observed two white, pinpoint lights at approximately 20,000 feet for 15 minutes. The objects slowly drifted to the northwest, maintaining the same angle to eachother, disappeared and reappeared and then continued in the same direction until gone for good. I've seen these objects many times in the past: on clear days, if you look deeply into the blue sky, you can see them, sometimes more than one, sometimes in a formation, always at the same altitude and slowly drifting around.

I was driving east on Wilshire Blvd. Between 14th Street and 26th Street, at about 130PM. I noticed an object (maybe 2000 feet up, just below the cloud ceiling) that appeared to be over Westwood (about a mile to the east). The object was clearly a disk. I cannot guess it's size. It was very shiny on one side (it seemed to be metallic). The other side seemed to be black and not reflecting any light. It was not stationary. Its movements were very erratic. Moving very short distances, in all directions. Going in and out of the clouds. Flipping from side to side. Enabling me to see both sides of the disc. I was able to watch it (as I was driving) for about a minute, maybe two. By the time I arrived at my destination and parked, it was gone.

It's Friday night and a beautiful night in Santa Monica. So we decided to go with our three dogs upstairs to our apartment roof top and watch the stars. We were laying on deck chairs facing the sky. My dog was on my lap and she could not take her eyes off the sky. Looking passed her gaze, I saw five huge spheres in the distance silently gliding rapidly and gracefully above me, having come from the direction of the pier. I was struck at first watching them. Then I alerted my boyfriend and he saw them too. We watched them as they headed north out of our view. At first thought we both thought they were bubbles. But, no way they were too big. Then balloons entered our minds, but no way. They didn't move like balloons. They were in formation and they were gliding rapidly in a straight line (faster than the planes in the sky) in uniform across the sky. They gave off no noise. They weren't giving off any reflective light. They were transparent, but they clearly had a shape to them like soap bubbles.

I was standing on the santa monica college roof with a friend, talking and drinking coffee when suddenly i told him to look north over the Santa Monica mountains. We both observed extremely bright blue/white lights creating a formation a few times, then dissapearing, just to re-appear a minute or so later, moving slowly in different directions and at one time forming a horizontal disk looking object only shortly. These lights lasted for about 20 minutes or so. We kept looking in that direction and all over the sky but no longer saw anything after that span. It was very strange, and it couldn't have been anything on the mountain, it had to be hovering and couldn't have been a helicopter or plane due to the hovering and multiple extremely bright lights appearing and disapearing. Very strange and neither of us have ever seen anything like that before while standing on the smc roof parking structure.

That is what I saw and it was a crystal clear windless day. The craft appeared a metallic/chrome in color. The very high craft appeared much larger than the lower flying Commercial Planes approaching LAX. There have to be some pilot reports on this incident...it was a clear day with unlimited visibility.

This is the second UFO that I have seen. When I was about 14 in Lexington Kentucky in the early eighties, my brother's friend left our house one evening. He yelled for us to come outside and see a UFO. When we went out the night sky was full of clouds like I have never seen. They all drooped down like cotton balls all the way across the sky. When we all looked up there was this gigantic Orange ball of light moving silently through these clouds illuminating a huge portion of them. We could only see the bottom of the sphere as it went in and out of the low clouds. It stayed at a steady altitude and speed, beacuse it was the formation of the low droopy clouds that masked the upper part of the craft. The craft itself had to be at least 50 yards wide as it passed over our heads. It also had these long pole like extensions, like spikes, with different colored lights on the end of them. This event was on the News in Lexington, Kentucky that evening, and hundreds of people saw this thing, propmting lots of calls to the military.

Slow-moving comet-like object

Single orange-colored light rose above buildings to the east, trailing what appeared to be sparks. I initially assumed it was a firework, but to my amazement, it continued to rise and move westward, with a "spark" still falling from the object every second or so. It traversed the entire sky in about 30 seconds and disappeared from view over the western horizon. I'm an aeronautical engineer and have never seen anything like it.

Silver cigar-shaped UFO hangs over Santa Monica Beach

I was driving home from work on the 10 freeway going west into Santa Monica and we had just changed over to Daylight Savings time. It was approximately 6:15PM/PST and I was listening to news radio and happened to see a rather large silver, cigar-shaped UFO hanging a bit low in the sky ahead, probably over the Santa Monica beach shoreline. I was not too far from my exit and this luminous object was so present and transfixing that I could hardly keep my eyes on the road. It was VERY visible, just hanging in the sky and there was no cloud/fog cover. I am not in the habit of looking for UFO's on my drive home from a busy work day, so seeing this strange object was really a surprise (I found out later, after the sighting, that UFO's have been known to be cigar-shaped). The object hung in the sky for about 10-15 minutes and then simply disappeared-out of sight.

Daytime UFO over Santa Monica Ca.

An associate of mine observed a cylinder shaped object hovering high in the clear blue skys over Santa Monica, Cal on the afternoon of March 18th 2002. I work near this associate and he's outside all day as parking cars. I mentioned that he should some day get a video camera because on clear days he may catch some ufos. And he did. He caught a cylinder shaped tube like object hight in the sky. The object made turns and emiied some kind of green energy or color on half of it. The object was completely white in color. I viewed the tape and made copies. The object had to be at least 2 - 3,000 ft. up. He also date and time stamped the video. Clear day cylinder UFO caught on tape over Santa Monica , California.

An associate of mine observed a cylinder shaped object high in the clear blue sky on Monday the 18th of March 2002. I work near this valet associate. We speak every day as I make office transactions. I encouraged him to get a video camera because he's outside all day and would catch something on video in the clear daytime sky. Yes he got something on tape. I viewed it and made copies. He said that he was just looking around the blue sky and boom there was a giant cylinder tube like object. It appeared greenish, then completely white. He focused on the daytime moon and panned over to the object. He said the object was small and stretched out like a giant straw. The object moved slowly changing shape and position. It later faded. As he shot the footage, he date and time stamped it. I have copies.

I really need to talk to you how do I call you???

Dear Peter, I was leaving ((name deleted)) beach house. It was her birthday and I was leaving at aproximatly 12:30 pm. I was just north of Pepperdine University on the ocean side of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH. I left the security gate of her families home alone. This is a tremendous huge beach front mansion.

The short of it is this. My girlfriend (who is an indirect witness) called me and told me to come home. We were staying about 45 minutes away up in Lake Sherwood (a gated community in the Santa Monica Mountains.

Knowing I had to go. I said good bye to the few people I new and headed out the front gate and up the football field drive to the PCH. I was parked (my 1990 black Bronco) across facing North on the road before me.

The road was dark and there was no one or a car around. I walked across the road and went to open the drivers side door and get in. Simple enough. Not thinking of anything but getting home.

But rather then getting in the truck before I even opened the door the last think I remember were my feet lifting and my balance going backward like I was slipping but my feet we already off the ground. Then everything in my mind went black.

The first part is not that scary but it is the next part that I have trouble sharing. I do not remember an abduction or aliens of a ship nothing.

I woke up about a mile or so north of the PCH in the low hills of the Santa Monica Mountains.

I need to talk to you I can't write the rest of this down it is very upseting.

something with lights giving off sparks and then disappeared into the night

At 8:45 PM, while driving west on the 10 freeway, approching the Lincon exit in Santa Monica, I saw a trail of bright white sparks coming from something with 3 or four lights on it.

It was moving across the freeway, moving north, at maybe 5 or 10 thousand feet. The was a passenger high jet above it.

At first I thought it might be a meteorite until I saw the jet about it.

It gave of sparks for maybe 20 sec. and then the lights in the front part, or the nose of the direction part, went out.

The sparks where like the once from a fireworks rocket, but this had head lights. So it was not firewoks.

It was dark so I could not see any detail of a craft. Just 3 lights and sparks trails. I was also driving 65mph, and watching the road and sky.

Later I called the Santa Monica police and asked if a plane had crashed in the area. They said no.

I tried to get the number to the Santa Monica Airport tower but could not.

I don't have a clue what this was. Maybe it was just a plane on fire and it lost power and landed ok.

Glowing object in the sky, which sparked with sparks, that moved very unlike an airplane or helicopter.

I was walking my fiance to her car at around midnight on 3/7/01 when she pointed something in the sky and asked: what is that? We were in Santa Monica, CA, aproximatelly 7 blocks from the beach and looked West and saw like a glow in the sky. It was definitelly not an airplane as we know what airplane look like as we have the LAX and SM airports close to us. As a matter of fact, we saw an airplane go by with it's blinking light clearly identifiable. Initially, this object moved back and forth (did not go in a straing line in one direction) for what seemed like a minute. It did not look like a helicopter moving either. All of a sudden it started moving north-west and it even created some sparks (the same as a broken mufler that's dragged on the pavement) and then it disappeard behind the homes in our view. I have never seen anything like this before.

daytime sighting over Santa Monica Mountains by two 11 year olds at Summer Camp

My son just told me of this, He was at camp for two weeks in Santa Monica and during the day of his last day he claims ( and I do belive him ) that he looked in the sky and saw a triangluar shape object with circles at each point going across the sky. I asked him how high did you think it was and he said about the height of normal helicopter. He said it made no sound at all, it was all silver/grayish. I then asked him if this object was on the ground how big do you think it would be and says as large as our mini-van. It had no lights. What a lucky kid!

i was walking my dog at about 9:40 pm-we live close to the beach, LAX and Santa Monica airport-so i'm always noticing airplanes in the sky. but a few minutes ago-i saw a fast moving, totally silent, traingular flying object that wasn't as high as most of the planes i normally see. the shape of the thing was knowable by the configuration of very dim (compared to most of the planes i normally see) lights lining up to form a wide triangle with a longish tail of lights at the rear of the thing. i watched it for about 12 or 15 seconds as i was running to get my fiancee-but when i turned my head to run up the steps-and looked back it was gone. it wasn't like anything i've ever seen before.

A bright light traveling at Great Velocity from the south to the north over the ocean off the coast of Santa Monica Pier.

I was at the end of Santa Monica Pier on vacation and I was looking out into the ocean, which at the time was VERY dark. I was trying to see if I could pinpoint any ships on the horizon, this being my first trip to the pacific ocean. I noticed a bright white light that seemed to float a little bit off the ocean almost to the horizon. it became brighter then it moved like nothing I've seen before from the left to the right. I was startled by the speed because I am familiar with hydroplanes from the seattle area and I've seen them race at close proxmity. I could understand the speed I saw if it was right next to the pier, but this was almost completely to the horizon. I yelled to my wife, "I just saw a UFO" i said. then I pointed it out to her just before it went over the horizon, she saw it too. I noticed it was pright enough to shimmer off the waves giving a better representation of its distance. Personally I am familiar with tracking objects at a distance, having made a hobby of watching planes as a child and my aformentioned Hydroplane race watching. Also I know the physical limits one can achieve on a sea craft due to informal training from my father, who was in the navy sub fleet. I am sorry for the delay in publising this, I have recently moved and it has been a while since I even thought of it.

I saw 2 triangular shaped objects with circular lights along the left & right sides. Approx. 5 min. later I saw one by itself flying in the same direction. 5-10 min. later still I saw another further north of the first 3. ALL were silent. The circular lights were much larger than those I can clearly see on commercial aircraft departing LAX.

I was out for a smoke. Looking up towards the LITTLE dipper (I think) I noticed a commercial airline jet leaving LAX (as my job is under the departing flight path for those flights heading east). My location was approx. 3/4mi south of the 10 frwy & 1/10 mi. east of PCH. 5-10 sec. later I saw something I'd never seen before, like no other aircraft I'd known. The TWO aircraft I saw appeared to 'chase' the jet from LAX but appeared to be LOWER in altitude than the jet. Each of the two "chase" craft had 5 or 6 circular lights along each edge (not the rear) of the craft. I could'nt believe what I saw. Convinced I'd seen something truly strange...I stayed outside to see what else I might see. 5 minutes or so went by & YES I saw another one! Flying in the same direction...this thing looked just like the first two I'd earlier seen. Thinking I might miss something I stayed outside for another 5-10 minutes. Then I saw a fourth, but this time something looked like it was chasing the 'spacecraft shape' I saw earlier and it was a "pinhead" in size compared in size to the larger craft. All of these craft I saw were the same size as the planes I see departing from LAX. I also live under the departing flight path of LAX as planes head east. I have seen A LOT of planes from LAX & this was like NOTHING I have ever seen before. I also have lived in the San Fernando Valley & have seen Stealth fighters exit Van Nuys airport when they leave from the yearly airshow. I don't think these were Stealth. These craft were absoloutely silent, nothing no boom...nothing, yet I can hear just fine all of the jets and prop planes in the area. The circular lights did not blink but remained solid and were much larger than the lights I've seen on all the LAX jets...yet the craft was about the same size as an LAX jet. After I saw this FOURTH craft I alerted a coworker, shaken a bit. We watched for 5 min. or so, he went back to work, but I stayed & watched for an hour or so. I had seen all I was to see for the night.

A 'V' shaped formation of lights passed overhead with no sound at high speed.

My wife and I were in the hot tub at 9:30 pm. I do a lot of strenuous exercise, so I use the spa practically every night. We're usually reclining, looking for falling stars and sattelites and watching the planes come in. We're surrounded by airports (LAX, Santa Monica, Van Nuys, Burbank -- etc). So we're accustumed to seeing lights in the sky, but not like this.

My wife was the first to see them. She said,"What the $%^& is that?" I turned and looked up to see this formation of 5, white, lights. Flying from West to East at a couple thousand feet. At first glance I thought it was a bunch of ultralights flying in formation. There are a bunch of pilots in Santa Monica that have these planes and they often fly them in formation, but I've never seen them fly at night.

But as they passed over I realized these weren't aircraft lights (not conventional aircraft at least). The lights themselves were sort of diamond shaped and not real bright and one of them seemed to be jockeying for position in the rear.

As the passed overhead I realized they made no sound -- which was the eeriest part. My neighborhood is quiet and my spa wasn't turned on. I lost sight of them over Hollywood.

My wife said she saw the formation 'flip' as it reached the ocean and start heading back toward the East. I didn't see it 'flip' but from the time she saw it to the time I lost sight of it towards Hollywood was only a matter of about 5 seconds. It or they were moving very fast and appeared at one point to dip slightly and rise again in perfect unison. It was like a giant kite with lights on the edges -- although I could never make out any shape and assumed at the time that the lights were independent elements.

I'm 34 and work in the entertainment industry as does my wife -- who was a little rattled by the whole thing.

Metallic sphere over Los Angeles International Airport.

On Mar 10, 1998 at approximately 5:30 a.m. my wife woke me, she was very excited and wanted to show me a light in the sky to the south of Santa Monica, she was sure it was something unusual.

I went out my front door with her and looked up, it was a very brilliant white light, I told her it was just a star (I'm forever a skeptic), we had planned a flight to Las Vegas that morning and I had to check weather and file my flight plan.

As I was making coffee (first priority), I kept checking the light up in the sky, it didn't appear to move at the time. After I had prepared for the flight we walked out to the street to get in my truck and leave and to my surprise when I looked up in the sky, the light from earlier was now lower on the horizen and appeared to be directly over the north complex of LAX, it now looked like a large metallic sphere. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, nor could my wife(and of course, she told me so). I grabbed my binoculars from my vehicle to view the sphere and it was definitely metallic, was no longer glowing and was just hovering, at about 2500 ft.

I am a commercial pilot and have been around aircraft since I was a child, this was nothing like I have ever seen. To estimate the size I referenced it against a 747-400 above and behind the object traveling southeast and roughly state 50 ft in diameter, and thats very rough. The sphere very slowly decended to a slightly lower altitude as we observed it, I decided that I was just going to go ahead and leave for the airport, assuming that if it was anything of significance it would be all over the news, but of course after returning that afternoon and watching the news, nothing. That is the first and only time I have ever witnessed something like that, and it really has sparked my curiosity about such sightings.

Bright light seems to follow my vehicle for several miles. Eventually a cloud develops around the light, it explodes and disappears.

This is a sighting I had in the late 90’s - possibly ’97 or ’98 in Los Angeles county, California. I wasn’t aware of Peter Davenport or of NUFORC at the time. By the time I did find out about NUFORC, I figured it was too long after the fact to bother. I decided to write this just because it seemed unlike any ufo sighting I’ve heard of and wanted to put it on record, for whatever it’s worth. Maybe now I'll be able to stop thinking about it.

It happened on an early August weekday morning around 5:30ish a.m. I had to drive several miles to Brentwood to pick up a prescription at my doc’s home, before going to work. I started off from my home in Santa Monica, heading north/west. After driving a minute or two, initially heading north, I noticed a low stationary light (no blinking lights), probably several miles off to the north/west (toward Pacific Palisades). It was low enough to be a helicopter, although for some reason it didn’t look like a helicopter (don’t recall now why I thought that). As I continued driving I kept my eye on the light. It started moving east and slightly south - in my direction. I began traveling due east toward Brentwood. The object continued its trajectory in my direction and was soon nearly parallel with my vehicle. I came to a traffic light and immediately turned left (north), stopping at a second traffic light, finding myself suddenly in a confluence of heavy, early a.m. commuter traffic. As I waited for the red light to change, I remember opening my window to look skyward for the object. I was surprised to see it very close, nearly overhead, extremely bright, stationary and silent. I couldn’t make out any shape of a craft. I was familiar with the variety of helicopters typically flying around L.A. having lived there for decades. This didn’t have any features of a helicopter. I wondered if the light might have been a search or flood light, but saw no evidence of that as I looked around me. When the traffic light turned green I turned my attention back to the road, disappointed I wouldn’t be able to keep track of the object.

A couple of minutes later I crossed Sunset Boulevard, continuing north into the dark foothills of the Santa Monica mountains. I was now the only car on a quiet residential road. I looked into the sky again and towards the west saw what I assumed was the same bright light that had appeared overhead minutes earlier. I pulled over and stopped to get a better look. It was a mile or 2 away from me, maybe more. It was stationary and low but well above the horizon. At this point the sky was still very dark, but moments away from the first light of daybreak.

Then I observed this: the bright light began to dim out. As that happened, fog or a cloud surrounded the light, obscuring the dimming light even more. Suddenly what almost appeared as an explosion of light seemed to burst behind the cloud. The explosion, which almost looked electrical or charged began to dim again before quickly disappearing completely. As I was staring at the spot, there was just enough daylight in the sky to observe the silhouette of a small cloud where the light had been. I remember holding out my arm trying to get an idea of its size. It looked like a cotton ball at arm’s distance. Within 30-60 seconds it too vanished, evaporated. The sky was dark and completely cloudless, with sunlight just appearing in the east. The sighting only lasted maybe 60-90 seconds total, as I recall. Another thing - as bizarre as it seems, I had a sense of communication or connection with the light when I first began observing it, maybe 7-10 minutes earlier, as I le! ft my home. I had the crazy thought that it was following me, but that could easily have been imagination. Also, for the record I’ve had numerous sightings since childhood. This was just the longest lasting and most dramatic. Later I checked to find out the moon’s location. It set around 11 p.m. the night before. One last thing - at the time of the event I assumed that the second object I saw was the same object which I first observed upon leaving my home, but in actuality I don't know that for a fact since wasn't able to watch the first object continuously. Summary : On May 7, 1997 I was looking north to the Santa Monica mountains and saw what I believed to be a helicopter shining its lights down on the ocean or the mountains. I live in a penthouse where I have a wonderful view of the Santa Monica Mountains, the ocean and the city. On a clear night, as this was, I can see very far. I often sit out side to relax and look at my surroundings. It is not uncommon to regularly see helicopters and planes from my view, especially with LAX so near. This particular evening I saw what I thought to be a helicopter and it really caught my attention. I noticed that this helicopter was silent and usually they make quite a bit of noise. I was looking at the object that I believed to be a helicopter and there was a direct light that it was shining on the mountains, like a spotlight, and moving low towards the ocean. It was in a two to three mile distance of me, which is common for most of the helicopters in the area. The light that I was watch!ing closely, without suspicion, disappeared, leaving puffs of smoke. This was a trail of smoke that I had never seen a plane or a helicopter leave before. The smoke was thick as if the object that it was coming from had been idled there for a long peroid of time and it had not been. A few seconds later the object took off with enormous speed, heading north to the sky. this is when I realized that the object could not be a helicopter at all. Within seconds it was "parked" next to a star, very far away.. It probably reached its location next to the star in under five seconds. It was a clear path that it took and it was as if it was trying to camaflauge itself next to that star. Then I saw a flashing red light that was actually revolving. From the distance where I was I could see the object and I could tell that it was revolving with a red light.. A few seconds later it took off so fast that I could see it going north for about two seconds but it was going so fast th!at it just disappeared. That is when I realized that I had seen a UFO. I immediately called a friend and left a detailed message on her voice mail, as to not leave out any details and record it while it was fresh in my mind. The next day I had to go out of town and did not know of your service until now. I feel very relieved to have reported this and hope that someone may have seen something also.I have lived in California for a little over a year. I moved to California from South Carolina for a job. I am twenty four years old and am fairly concervative in my beliefs. I was raised an "Army Brat", therefore traveling is nothing new to me. I run four miles every morning before work and consider myself to be very social. I have never looked up the UFO website before.

300-400 ft directly overhead, the black triangle was headed west towards Santa Monica beach at approximately 10-15 mph. 7-9 dim orange lights along the left and right sides underneath the object including one at the apex. Pretty clear night, you could see the solid shape of a triangle as it blocked the view of stars above it. The blackness of the object was considerably darker than the night sky around it. Nothing texture-wise on the underside. Zero details about thickness, features or means of acceleration. Could have been made of black cardboard for all I know…

I did follow this thing for about 1-2 blocks direct west just to see if anything was supporting it from above or if there was some hint that it was some sort of blimp. I saw nothing that would explain its ability to remain in the air or its means of travel. It eventually became diffuse as it pulled further and further away still heading directly towards the coast (13 blocks away). But, it was late, I was taking 14 credits at Santa Monica College, also working 6 days a week at a home stereo boutique in Beverly Hills. I need to get to sleep at a reasonable time, so I walked away and told one person about it at work, got made fun of , so I never mentioned it again. Till about 10 years later AFTER I was married for 3 years (just in case I all of a sudden I would find myself single!). Then, just recently it’s al over the place with TV, YouTube , the web etc. Well, with some of the examples I saw from others, I realized how close I was by comparison. I thought “ok, mine’s bigger than yours so, I gotta say SOMEthing! For scale, if I had a model of that thing about 18-24” long, and held it directly above my head at arm’s length, that would be just about right. Can’t say if it was an equilateral or Isosceles triangle, I was too busy trying to figure out how NOT to say a damn thing! Anyway, after 37 years… well, there ya go.

As mentioned above. I do remember that the morning which i saw this craft i had heard the news about the death of John Lennon. I was stunned after seeing this craft, so afterwards i really didn't think to much about Lennon. After watching the object for about ten minutes, which was hovering tha whole time, the thing took off quit fast. Not lightspeed, but faster than any aceeleration i had ever seen...to this day!

Two UFO's sighted over Los Angeles and reported on ABC channel 7 news the nest day.

While walking east up Colorado Blvd. between Lincoln Blvd. and 14th St. my brother and I observed to lights moving in a southerly direction. The lights were moving in a staggered motion across the L.A. basin area. Lincoln Blvd. is approximately 1 mile from the ocean and these lights must have been anywhere from 15 to 25 miles from our position over Los Angeles or beyond. When the lights had staggered around in the sky for about 15 to 20 seconds they suddenly shot up at a 1 o'clock angle out into space and out of view.

The next day the ABC channel 7 regional weather man Dr. George Fishbeck announced that the Air Force tracked two UFO's from San Fancisco to Los Angeles then the UFOs just blasted out into space of the radar.

I thought it was a toy, yellow and blue plastic, as I got closer I was addressed telepathically

I was five years old, getting sun as I had just recovered from chicken pox. It was around 1:00 PM on a busy corner in Santa Monica. I saw what looked like an approximately 2 foot tall by 1 foot diameter egg shaped object with rotating lights, red, blue green, purple, and yellow. I felt it was trying to get my attention. I wanted to pick it up and take it home, I was so excited to have found this brand new toy.
As I was about to pick my new toy up, a monotone electronic sounding male voice in my head said "Hi Meeshell, we're here for you, please don't touch our craft" I felt very scared. I thought someone was playing a prank on me. They asked me a lot of questions and I answered with visions or pictures in my head. They told me that they could trust me and I was an important person to help them.
As I looked closer I saw that within the egg shaped object there was a rotating middle portion which was blue and had rotating picrures of what I now know looked like grey aliens with big eyes and skinny. At the time I had no knowledge of aliens or ufos. They were very polite but I was scared nonetheless and I basically froze.
They told me no need to be scared at all and that I was chosen. They said that they would be watching me from now on and would visit. They were reading my thoughts, and I was thinking gift as proof of loyalty. They said "a gift" and a drawbridge came down and a small maybe 2" door slid open right to left The surface had previously been seamless. A small maroon egg shaped object with thick chrome colored wire wrapped around the middle and a tab bent up at one end of the wire rolled down the ramp. I picked it up no idea what it was.
The said something like here it is.
I started running fast to my Mom's apartment, sadly she was not there. I went to her friends house where I found her. I showed them the gift and handed it to my Mom's friend. She said "What is this, where did you get this?". I began to explain my encounter that had just happened.
She started trying to open the gift. The metal wire was pliable and seemed almost liquid like mercury. She twisted opposite directions top and bottom, it opened and she pulled out a string of rice paper elephants in a line trunk to tail. She was happy for me and said it was very special and that they trusted me enough to show themselves. The gift somehow was lost eventually and I have never been able to locate it again.
I started Montessori school shortly after this incident, and was obsessed with painting and drawing the egg shaped object but never tried to explain what it was to anyone in fear of being ridiculed.

very bright light zig-zagging fast across the sky, then zoomed straight up

Very bright light zig-zagged over the ocean in wide sweeping movements, very fast for a few seconds, then zoomed straight up and disappeared. It had to be a UFO, as there isn't anything else that could travel that swiftly. The side to side movements were very abrupt and fast---no arcs, just straight lines, I was on the beach and it was dark so it was very hard to tell how far out over the water this was taking place....maybe 2 miles?? The night was clear--no clouds, no fog, and stars were evident.
