Thin, rotating,box-like metallic structure with brilliant 'headlamp-like' red/pink/white lights grouped together, perhaps 4 of them.

There were 5 of us sitting in the backyard. Clear, sunny, hot day. I noticed an object over head with bright lights or sunlight glinting from it. We thought it was a small plane flying high, perhaps 10-20k feet, but hard to tell. It remained somewhat stationary, so this drew our attention, along with the lights. Then it began to move (or had been moving, but slowly) again. We got binoculars and I got a reasonably good view of it. Though shaky, I saw what appeared to be a square, metallic structure, with 4 “headlight” type lamps, very bright, and concentric with each other so they took up all the area of the square structure. They were white and red/pinkish, with a brilliance unlike anything I’ve seen. They were changing color, blinking. (You could see the lights and colors with the naked eye. They were not at all like any plane.) Looking through the binoculars, the object appeared to be rotating because the lights would disappear in what seemed like a profile view, then I could see all 4 (or more) of them again, coming back into view.

I kept remarking to the others that we were looking at a ufo!, half joking, but the more I looked, the more the only possibility of what it was—a drone—seemed out of the question. It was too high, there were no “propellers” or visible means of propulsion, and it was rotating.

A passenger jet from LAX flew by and below the object. I could see the jet details clearly, and the object appeared to be higher than the jet.

By the time I finished using the binoculars it had gone out of view, so the others couldn’t get the close view I had.

We were at the beach we saw a solid red light slowly coming towards us. It was low to the ground then it hovered for a minute.

Then it abruptly made a right angle turn and zoomed off to the south and up at an incredible speed.

We were walking home from dinner when we looking into the sky and saw a bright white light almost resembling a comet and moving pretty slow at an upward diagonal angle. We stopped to watch because it looked so strange, it had a tail of white light coming out which massed into a large white cloud that appeared lit. There are absolutely no clouds in the sky tonight and everywhere around this light mass was empty sky. While the light was on the right of the cloud a thick somewhat translucent green beam was stationary coming out of the left side. The light continued to move upward and to the right and eventually got far enough away that it was no longer connected to the light cloud. When this happened the green beam also dissipated. The light cloud however remained in the sky for the next 10 minutes. The original light moved far away but remained visible, it appeared to move further up in the sky and then there seamed to be another shower like light beam extendi! ng downward. It remained in that position for roughly 5 minutes and then disappeared. We both watched this unfold as well as two other people on the street across from us. There are no missile launches or rocket launches recorded near this area tonight and we are left wondering what we saw.

Three very bright lights in the night sky forming a large triangle stay motionless for 90 seconds, dim and go out.

At about 8:45 pm, my wife and I heard a boy tell his mom to come outside and look at the lights in the night sky. His insistence made us go outside and take a look.

We immediately saw in the southern sky 3 very bright, stationary lights that were in a large triangle formation. The lights were much brighter than any star or planet and were many times larger than the planet Jupiter appears at its brightest. It was hard to tell how far away they were, but they appeared to be thousands of feet high. The lights could have been separate or part of a much larger object because their relative distances did not vary during the observation. There was a ¼ moon in the northwestern sky and because of the proximity to Santa Barbara, most of the stars in the sky were very dim. It was impossible to miss these 3 bright objects.

We waited for the lights to move, but they stayed stationary for over a minute, then 1 by 1 each light slowly dimmed and then went out. Almost immediately after the last light went out, a small glowing cloud or smudge, as we called it, appeared away from the original triangle formation and started to move rapidly across the sky—heading out towards the ocean. It dropped quickly toward the ocean and followed a long path which took it many miles away into a western part of the night sky. In less than 10 seconds, it disappeared behind the Santa Barbara channel Islands over 20 miles away. Each of these events occurred without any noise.

My wife and I are professional people with no previous sightings to report.

Late Thursday, Feb. 24, I saw 2 oval orange lights over the Santa Barbara Channel for 10 minutes.

While driving home at night I saw 2 bright orange oval lights coming down the coastline. I was on Hwy 101, which is right along the beach. At first I thought they were helicopters, but then they were too big, and they had blinking lights around them. I pulled over to get a better look, but by the time I got out of the car, only one light was left. Then that light faded and disappeared. I stood longer and the other light rose up from the horizon and stood still. That that light slowly disappeared. Did they go up to space or just fade out? That is the first time I saw something like this. Is this a weather phenomenon, or a military thing (Vandenburg AFB is north of here and Pt. Magu Naval Base is just south of here). If alien, then why do they just disappear and what are they probing?

Highly luminos object seen in Santa Barbara area with very high acceleration capability.

Highly luminous object seen moving in an E x NE - W x SW flight track, speed unknown, altitude FL600 minimum. Object had a VERY long reddish-orange glowing contrail(re-entry trail?) that from ground level I would estimate was in the neighborhood of two(2) kilometers maximum length. Object lost glowing trail after a short time but luminosity did not wane. At first object was thought to be a meteor re-entry but upon continued observation a 'very' faint blinking light could be seen (navigation light?).

Object continued course track for a short time and then quickly changed direction to a NW flight track. Object emitted what I can only describe as a 'pearl colored, luminous, nebulous, atmospheric phenomenon' of a rough diamond shape with a small glowing white center(It reminded me of a mach shockwave that can be seen when supersonic jets approach the sound barrier). Object then abruptly accelerated at a VERY high rate of speed on NW flight track over the Pacific Ocean. I can only speculate the rate of acceleration, but would estimate in neighborhood of mach20+. Atmospheric phenomenon was observed to linger and hold its shape for approximately 20 seconds before slowly dissipating.

Went to take out the dog. It was a series of white lights that formed a circle. It seemed that there were smaller red lights in between. The lights were twinkling. I don't know just how long it was hovering there, but we watched at least 10-15 minutes. It was very high up and looked about the size of a nickel. We are both fifth generation natives of this area and have never witnessed anything like this before.

Black triangular craft cruises over our house three times in one night. Has no sound. Very large. Tiny dim lights around edges.

On the eigth of May, I witnessed a black triangular craft fly over our house three times in the course of about a half an hour. My father saw it first, and called me outside. After waiting for a couple of minutes, it showed up again, cruising slowly and silently, directly over the house. The object was about five hundred feet up, and I could see the structure that the lights were attached to. There were lights along the two leading edges, and the back was slightly inverted. I would estimate that the object was about one hundred yards across. After we lost sight of it, we waited, and it returned within five minutes, this time headed in the opposite direction, as if it had made a turn, and come directly over us once again. We waited for it show up again, and about ten minutes later we saw it make a turn towards Foothill (Mountains). We were out there four nights in a row, and it is almost guaranteed to show up. It usually flys over from about 9:45 to about 10:30 P.M. We both get the impression that the craft (or whoever may be piloting it) knows when we spot it. Due to the way it flys directly over the house, it seems to want to make contact of some sort. Last year around this time of year, the same thing was happening. It gives me and my father a very eery feeling everytime it flies over. My father works for the county of Santa Barbara, and I'm a junior at Carpinteria High School, 16 years old. I myself have never seen any unusual objects in the sky before, such as this. I also did not really believe in the UFO phenomenon until I saw this. Needless to say, it is kind of spooky. We'll keep you updated if anything else happens.

What was thought an aircraft, suddenly stopped, did a series of acrobatic tricks, tremendous speed from standstill, no noise. Suddenly disappeared. Seemed alive and connected to minds of viewers.

The light, about as bright as Jupiter is in this part of the world but with a reddish/yellowish(sic) tinge was seen from the beach of La Conchita, Ventura County, California (near Carpinteria, Santa Barbara County, California). The beach faces soutwest.

The craft was seen initially about 30 degrees above the horizon going at aircraft speed. Suddenly seemed to stop, go vertical at faster speed, up and then down, did a series of erratic movements of varying distances and speeds, with no seeming logic. The light seemed to blink and shoot off shortish rays of light.

A couple of minutes after turning around and running to get someone else to see the sight the light was gone. There was no noise. The two viewers were a male counselor in his mid twenties and a professional masseuse in her mid thirties. They felt a mind connection with the light as if it was alive and the masseuse thought, moved with her will to some extent.

I lived on the beach in Carpinteria at the time of the sighting. The reason I am writing to you is that I have never heard of the type of sighting that I had.

I was in the back yard with a friend watching the stars when I saw something out of my peripheral vision. I turned to see a rose colored rectangle shaped fog or cloud comming towards us. We stood completely still. There was no sound, it stopped right above our heads and stayed there for 20 seconds or so. The object was not visible to us, just a fog, the only thing I can relate to would be what Star Trek called cloaking. The fog object was rectangle in shape, rose pink in color.

We watched it as it went over the ocean towards the Channel Islands which are about 20 miles from my home. The craft flew over the ocean toward the islands and disappeared within 10 seconds. Have you ever heard of a sighting like this?

I have listened to Art Bell since he hosted Dreamland and never heard any discription of a sighting like mine. I know when the object was above us that they saw us and were observing us. I don't know how far above our heads it was, but if I took a guess it would be 75 to 100 feet.

I am sorry I didn't report it before. I only reported it now because the sighting was so out of the ordinary.

witnesses watched 3 large sphere move slowly to the West, hover and then each disappear.

This event took place in Jan. or Feb., 1968. I was picking up my cousin and her son to attend a drive-in movie and as I drove out Casitas Pass Rd., I observed a huge orange (more the color of fire than sodium lights) moving thru Casitas Pass into Carpinteria valley. It was traveling low as I could see the outline of the hills behind it. I honked & yelled for them (including her husband) to come out and see it. Her husband got a quick glimpse before the view was blocked by the avacado orchard across the street. We quickly drove to the frontage road that runs along beside Hwy 101 (going South) where we would have an unobstructed view. This rd is very close to the ocean as well as the S. end of the valley. There were 3 of these 'glowing' craft...at arm's length, the size of a dinner plate. We were with 1/2 - 3/4 mile from these objects as they flew below and to the N. of Rincon mts. As we stepped from the car to watch we noticed several cars in the S. bound lanes of Hwy 101 pull over & people getting out to look at these things! They slowly moved out over the ocean...hovering not far from shore for several minutes & then, one by one, went 'out'.. like a switched light. Nothing was in the newspaper (Santa Barbara Newspress) or on the news. The next evening a neighbor (technican/aero-space co.) also observed them but at a much later hour. My cousin has a B.A. from U.of CA and was 28 yrs old @ time of sighting. I also have a B.A. and am in charge of operations for a Nevada mining operation. Our son's were only 4 yrs old @ the time. I am reporting this because of the recent sightings (similar color, ect.) being reported from the East & in the hopes someone else that witnessed these UFO's might speak up. I have seen something similar here in Nevada a few yrs ago..just S.E. of infamous Area 51.
