Strange streak pattern and light movement captured on 10 second exposure picture

While taking long-exposure (10-second) images of the Milky Way with an iPhone, a strange streak and object appeared in only one of the photos. The object’s path was highly irregular, featuring a curved trajectory followed by a zig-zagging motion, which distinguishes it from the typical straight-line trails left by satellites or aircraft. The object did not appear in any other consecutive frames, suggesting a fast-moving or transient phenomenon.

Upon image enhancement and analysis, the object’s path appears to show erratic movement inconsistent with standard aerial traffic, celestial objects, or known photographic artifacts. The streak suggests rapid movement, but with changes in direction that are not typical for natural or human-made objects.

Additional Details:
• The photograph does not show the straight-line motion typical of satellites.
• No known aircraft were visible in the area at the time.
• No similar anomalies appeared in other photos taken in succession.

If it were in low Earth orbit (~500 km altitude), it could have been moving 10-20 km per second (~22,000-45,000 mph), depending on trajectory. If the object were at aircraft altitude (~10 km), and it traveled across a field of view of several degrees, it would be moving extremely fast—likely several times the speed of sound (Mach 2 or higher).

This sighting is submitted for further review and possible correlation with other sightings in the region. The original image, along with enhanced contrast and edge-detection analysis, is available for further investigation.

Three chevron shaped crafts extremely close together in a line flew across a portion of the sky before disappearing

I was in the backyard of a home with seven people during a solar storm. The northern lights were visible, making a portion of the sky magenta. Three of us were in the pool directly under where the UFOs would pass over. The other four were next to the pool sitting on pool chairs and would be able to see the UFOs from their sides. One of the people in the pool looked up and said. “Guys what is that?” Me and the other person in the pool looked up and we both saw the UFOs from underneath. One of the people on the pool chairs looked up and he saw the UFO from it’s side. When I looked up, I saw three chevron shaped ships in a straight line separated only by a small amount of space and moving across the sky in unison. It almost seemed like they were held together by some kind of magnetic force because they were so close together and moved together. They looked white and somewhat transparent to me. Other people said they saw colors but I only saw white. They almost looked like negative space or a shadow, but at the same time they glowed and were clearly defined. The chevron shapes were zig-zagged. They moved over the pool and across the sky. They made no sound at all and were much closer to the ground than any planes we saw fly overhead. They didn’t leave any trail. They smoothly glided across the sky. They moved from NW to SE. I told one of my friends to take a picture and as soon as I said that the aircrafts disappeared, seemingly teleporting. They were still fairly close by and not near the mountains or hoirizon when they disappeared. Everyone who saw them agreed that something about them did not seem human. The only doubt I had was that they may be some sort of projection because I had only seen them from underneath and couldn’t tell if they had any dimension or depth. My friend who saw them from the pool chairs, however, said he saw that they were three demensional and couldn’t have been projections. He said they were fairly thin, but certainly three dimensional.

The ship was otherworldly. It wasn’t just a metal structure, it wasn’t just orbs of light - it looked like it was from a sci-fi movie.

I was in the backyard of a rental property swimming in a pool with 2 friends, and 4 other friends were sitting outside of the pool. We were looking up at the sky often since the Aurora was visible that night. At a random moment I looked directly above and saw a craft flying over us. I immediately knew the craft was something foreign, and far beyond any technology we’re aware of.

I tried to get my friends’ attention, and the 2 friends in the pool immediately saw it. 1 friend outside the pool saw it too. We all had a moment of speechless shock. I stared as the ship flew from the left side of my field of vision to the right, then disappeared suddenly (before it was out of sight - it didn’t just slowly move out of our field of vision, it went *poof* and disappeared).

I’m not great at estimating the elevation, but it was flying lower than a standard plane would. Probably a thousand feet in the air, maybe more. I’d compare it to the height a blimp would fly.

The ship itself appeared like three chevron shapes being held closely together by some force, almost like magnetism, but they were NOT connected. Light was glowing and almost bending between the parts. The “wings” of the chevron shapes seemed to be made of 3 separate units on each side. The ship had a transparent aspect to it, seemed to have light bending/leaking in the spaces between the components, and was almost magnifying the stars above it. I am certain that I could see the night sky right through it.

The movement of the ship was fast but not extremely fast (not even close to a meteor or anything similar). It probably took 15 seconds to cross my field of vision. It moved very smoothly, almost floating. Again, I’d compare it to a blimp, but a fast moving blimp. There was no visible exhaust, and it was completely silent. If I hadn’t looked up at that moment I would’ve never known it was there.

The appearance of the ship was otherworldly. It wasn’t just a metal structure, it wasn’t just orbs of light - it looked like a spacecraft directly out of a sci-fi move. It looked like a shadow in some parts, had fully transparent parts, and was manipulating light in ways I’ve never seen. I saw both white light and multicolored lights.

After it disappeared, we took a few seconds to process, and we all were blurting out whatever words we could form. All of us in the pool said the word “three”. The number 3 was very relevant. I believe it appeared to be 3 ships, and the “wings” of the chevron shapes each looked like they were made out of 3 pieces, if that makes sense.

The one person who saw it from outside of the pool had a different angle. From in the pool we were looking at the underbelly of the craft and it almost looked two-dimensional. From outside the pool, the person saw three-dimensional shapes, and their drawing reflected that. From their drawing, the ships looked like elongated pyramid shapes.

UAP seen less the 100ft off ground shaped like a cigar shaped harmonica

UAP approached our camp sight, coming up over the 40ft barrier of rocks; it seem to hover 20 plus ft above rocks for a 30 seconds or so, seeming to rotate or change direction, then is shot off faster then any known military aircraft. It had rectanglular segments that seem to create a belt around the craft of low glow white or gray lights, and two more distinct lights (that seemed to be headlights). The UAP was silent, and seemed to create a noise reaction because all the insects went silent during the sighting and then went back to normal as soon as UAP zipped off. The UAP appeared to be gray in color and devoid of any mechanical sound or sound at all.

Very bright round vessel low flying darted across the sky for seconds and upruptly went dark.

I went out to my driveway to check on my new car and immediately noticed a cylinder object that was brighter than the full moon. There was not a cloud in the sky. This was NOT a shooting star or an aircraft as planes are and were way above this object. The UFO was flying west to northeast horizontally across the sky at a rate of speed that was extremely fast, and I mean FAST! After seconds of my watching it the SUPER BRIGHT light went completely dark. There was not any trail or fuel smoke left behind. The abundant stars and full moon allowed me to see clearly. I am 60 years old and I have never seen anything like this and it is something that I will never forget! The local Sheriff's office had no other reports as I called them right after. I've been back outside twice and only saw a couple of regular aircraft much higher, much smaller, moving slowly with blinking lights that were obviously jetliners. I do not believe anyone on Earth has an aircraft that can maneuver or cloak itself like the UFO I witnessed.

We had just got home around 5:50 pm. As I got off the car I looked up and said the stars are shining bright tonight. Dropping and then upward thrusting light that was previously stationary as a star, met by another before taking off horizontally

I was outside at approximately 8 or 9pm and looking out at the stars above the monument when I saw what looked like a falling star. Moments later another falling star went horizontal in the same area as the first which fell vertically. I made wishes of course and continued enjoying the night sky, when I saw what was previously a stationary "star" drop and then short thrust upwards 3 times, drop again and 3 short thrusts upwards, repeating this pattern approximately 6 times until it got closer to earth. I then saw another "star" start moving upwards towards this dropping "light/star" until it got close enough and the first "light/star" stopped for a few seconds before shooting off towards the military base in 29 Palms. Then, the second "light/star" went upwards into the sky and basically planted there as if it was just a star.

Close encounter of the fifth kind.

Went to Joshua Tree and drove to the highest point. At the time I couldn't vocalize at my apartment (I have a loud singing voice). So I inserted some cd's of various music track that I enjoy singing with. I opened my moon roof of my SUV and stood on my drivers seat and sang to the stars. It was a super clear night with no one around just myself. As I was singing, I noticed a shooting star then another one. I thought, wow they must like my choice of music (Mario Lanza The Student Prince, Sandi Patti "All the Stars", etc. Then four stars moved above me high up in the sky, I suddenly felt tired and said jokingly to the stars above " It's intermission time" and lowered myself back on my driver's seat and had the moon roof move slightly ajar and fell asleep. When I woke up, I heard a voice in a delay type of whisper. I OPENED THE MOON ROOF and stood on my car seat and saw this white orb. Every time it spoke to me it pulsated. It asked me what makes this sound and started playing a melody with what sounded like a cello or violin. I said to the pulsating orb or star that is a cello and described how the sound is made. I thought this can't be real, I'm explaing to a UAP how a cello sound is made? Then I thought of humming a melody by connecting it with what the orbs melody had played and to the other stars that were above me they could add to it like a never ending melody. To this day, I saw and heard what I encountered and thought it was odd that this happened to me and the orb of light wanted to know what made the sound of a cello/violin. Was it a joke? If so, why would someone ask me what makes this sound of a musical instrument?

Extremely fast blue light changing directions before turning red and stopping and eventually blinking red before disappearing.

I was looking at the stars for a few minutes at 10 and just letting my mind wander, when I saw a blue light that was far away so that it looked like a bright star, or very distant plane. But immediately, the blue light moved so quickly through the sky and began making sharp turns such as a backwards zee and then back down. It went on like this for maybe 20 seconds and then it traveled some distance and stopped moving and the light became red. I watched it for a few minutes but eventually went back to get my phone as my wife and I had been texting. When I came back out it was in the same spot but blinking. It went on for maybe another minute, 5 minutes total max, but one of the times i looked down at my phone to text and when I looked back up it was gone. I saw a plane fly by a few minutes later and the speed was many many times slower than the object I had just seen. Totally random but I received my first reiki session today. We our right next to 29 Palms Marine Base so there is that too.

It suddenly appeared traveling in a NorthEast to SouthWest direction, the scalene triangle-shaped craft traveled at a slow to moderate speed across the night sky.

It looked to be a few hundred feet above the ground.

Approximate size of the sides were: One male-adult fist size high on the "backward" side, Two male-adult fist size long on the "top" side and a male-adult fist size and a half long on the "bottom" side. At each corner, there were bright fluorescent, steady green lights.

It emitted a low thrum (a combination of a throbbing and hum sound) noise, almost like a low engine sound, becoming louder as it was directly overhead.

It continued to travel across the moon-lit sky for the time-duration stated above, gaining speed, and then both the lights and sound were gone.

Multiple continuously-luminous craft, flying silently at very high speed, with irregular greenish flashes.

This sighting was made during the "Contact in the Desert" event, held 3-6 June 2016 at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center (JTRC) in Joshua Tree, CA. Spanning an approximately 10-minute period beginning at about 10:30 PM, we (my wife and I) observed a total of seven (7) continuously-luminous flying objects approached JTRC at very high speed over the Western horizon (direction of Yucca Valley).

The objects arrived singly, one after the other, and in pairs at irregular intervals over the approximate 10-minute observation period. None of the objects exhibited standard red, green or white blinking aircraft navigation lights.

Each object flew exceedingly smoothly, silently and rapidly towards the East and then each turned smoothly toward the North/Northeast when they arrived directly North of the JTRC grounds. The distance to the flying craft was estimated to be less than two miles, but could have been as little as one mile away at their closest approach to t! he JTRC. Throughout their approach from the West and eventual disappearance to the North, the objects emitted a continuous pale bluish/green to soft amber light. The craft were sufficiently bright and large to be very easily observed without the assistance of night-vision optics or binoculars. At irregular intervals during their flight trajectories, each craft displayed bright flashes of an iridescent green glow. The glowing flashes did not appear to emanate from a fixed point on the craft, but rather seemed to be diffuse in nature and sweep over the craft in an uneven manner. The flash duration was about 1 second or less. As mentioned above, the craft were fairly close (estimated 1-2 miles) and when the green flashes occurred, it was just possible to make out some kind of hull structure to the craft, i.e., the craft did not appear as sharp points of light or amorphous balls of light. When the craft were targeted by one or more hand-held lasers, they sometimes flashed green. But they also flashed a green glow at times when they were n! ot illum inated by lasers. From its first appearance on the western horizon, each object took about 30 seconds (or possibly less) to complete its west-to-east flyby past the JTRC, perform the sweeping northerly turn, and subsequently gradually disappear over the northern horizon.

The estimated distance of the objects when they first appeared over the western horizon was 5 miles. Similarly, the estimated distance to the point of disappearance in the north was also 5 miles, resulting in a total (visible) flight trajectory of 10 miles. Assuming this distance was traveled in 30 seconds or less, the minimum speed of the objects may be estimated at about 1200 miles per hour. Importantly, no sound of any kind was detected as the objects flew past, which would be consistent with an unconventional (i.e., non-jet engine) type of propulsion system.

100 plus ppl have sighting at Contact in the Desert Conference of 10 very fast muliple colored objects.

I will attempt to be succinct in order to keep this report brief. Please call me for additional details. I am the Owner of UFO Sighting Tours in Sedona, AZ. I have completed 588 tours with the use of PVS 7, Gen. 3 Military Night Vision Goggles (NVGs). I was hired by the CITD conference to run their Night Vision Events at this year’s 2016 conference running June 2 thru 6, 2016. The previous 4 listed reports on this site from Joshua Tree, CA, were from attendees of the Saturday, June 4th event that I led. I know many additional people that were in attendance who may be contacted for reports/interviews and I may provide phone numbers.

I am a trained observer and a past MUFON investigator. I was a past member of the Board for MUFON OC, CA.

On June 4th well over 100 people were gathered at Orion’s point lookout, a location at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center. At approx. 10:00 or just prior, most of the attendees witnessed what I am about to describe. There were 18 pairs of NVGs provided, as well as many individuals privately owned goggles present. Yet the following were clearly visible with the naked unaided eye and were seen by most present without equipment. The following sightings lasted approx. 20 minutes total time. I was busy leading the group and instructing them on a PA system and did not note the time, but many of those present informed me after the fact. Videos of this event are surfacing and are being gathered. A professional documentary film crew was present on behalf of CITD and achieved footage of these sightings, but I have not seen it. I will provide it as soon as it is available.

As I witnessed it: Approaching from the west and flying east across the valley in front of us, and coming low over a hill, were the following large colored lights flying extremely fast. First to appear was a blue light, then shortly thereafter a red or amber light, and then 2 bright green ones. After a brief pause of a few minutes came 2 more green ones followed by a single green one, again, flying over the hill at an extremely rapid speed. This second grouping then slowed way down and came together to form a distinct triangle formation and continued to fly across the valley maintaining this formation traveling all the way in a very slow even pace. Eventually this formation disappeared from vision right in front of us. I was not holding NVGs at the time, but those that were said this triangle formation was seen speeding up and shooting up off into space. Many said that somewhere in this mix was a purple light, but I did not see that. This was a total thus far of abou! t 7 clearly visible craft.

People were yelling out, applauding and very excited during these events. After a about 5 minutes had passed, Jimmy Church, popular radio talk show host and his wife Rita approached me. A friend of theirs’s had called them on her cell and told them to come quick! I informed them they just missed some remarkable sightings. When suddenly in comes yet another large green light from over the same hill to the west. And shortly after even another green light. They witnessed these 2 green lights (naked eye) along with other objects that they saw using the NVGs over the next 10 mins. Soon after those 2 green ones, a very large amber light came right over us all and very quickly disappeared right above us. Including this amber one, the total crafts sighted in about 20 minutes was well over 10. All 10 major sightings were way, way, way too fast to be satellites, completely silent, went from hauling in to slowing down to a snail’s pace immediately, and then completely disappea! red before us. All of which are things military jets and satellites CAN NOT DO! We started viewing that night at 8:30 p.m. and didn’t stop till 11:30 p.m. and continued to have sightings on and off the whole while. I educate everyone on all the various type of planes, shooting stars, and all about satellites in order to be able to rule those out. Then and only then are we left with unknown or unidentified objects. All these sightings were clearly unidentified! Also in use were multiple high powered green lasers. I had brought eight 5-mile, two 10-mile, and one 100-mile visible length of beam lasers and they were distributed throughout the crowd and some people had brought their own. As these 10 total objects over about 20 minutes were witnessed many people were hitting them with the lasers. We use the lasers both for pointing out objects and for flashing at them to get possible UFOs to flash back. This has proven successful on most of my tours. As these 10 objects were hit by lasers, myself and others realized that while some may have been flashing back in response, that most likely our lasers were hitting actual metallic surfaces and reflecting off of the objects! Many of the people standing near me, including Jimmy Church, thought this is what we were actually seeing. This would also mean that these objects were extremely close.

The response from the crowd had been overwhelming. Many people have expressed that this was a paradigm changing event for them. I’m spoiled. I get to see real sightings on all my tours. But this night, same as those, I loved providing that experience for others. I never get tired of people’s reactions. For me, it’s always confirmation that UFOs are real and seeing them is truly believing.

It was a morphing orb that was hovering and pulsated directly above our car. It was intentionally interacting with us. This event took place today, Friday, June 3, 2016, at 11:30am today. I have 4 videos of this event.

Silver sphere in Joshua Tree National Park in the middle of the afternoon.

We were driving west on Park Blvd., heading towards Keys View Road, near Ryan Mountain Trail head, when the driver of the car and I both saw a round/spherical silver floating object in the sky. It looked exactly like it was made from some sort of metal, reflecting the bright sunlight. It looked to be about 20-30 feet above us--relatively close, not off in the distance. I would describe it as a small craft--3 feet wide at most. It didn’t seem to move, just float. Most certainly NOT a drone. We both saw the object very clearly, before it disappeared in a second or two.

We immediately pulled the car over and got out, but it was nowhere to be seen. It was there one second and gone the next. Either moving too quickly for the human eye to see, cloaking itself, or disappearing completely from that spot.

I’ve seen several things out of the ordinary in the desert sky, but nothing as clear as this. There is no doubt in my mind that the object we saw is not from Earth. Both myself and the other observer have excellent eyesight, open minds, and are very good a picking up on details that others often overlook. I believe we were both looking in the right direction at the right time and ended up witnessing something that was hiding in plain sight.

While sitting at our campsite #34, looking NNE a orange triangular object w a red "torch" on top slowly silently crawled across the sky in a very horizontal line. After about 90 seconds, the object descended straight down increasingly getting more red until it disappeared behind trees.

Two crafts over Joshua tree national park

On a warm summer night in June 2012, around 9:45–10:00 PM, I witnessed an extraordinary event from my residence on 29 Palms Highway in Joshua Tree, California. My roommate and I observed two perfectly round, bright white orbs in the sky above Mount Minerva Hoyt in Joshua Tree National Park. The orbs emitted no tail, unlike meteors or flares, and moved in a manner unlike anything we had ever seen before.

Appearance

• Shape: Two perfectly round orbs.
• Color: Bright white with a hazy aura surrounding them.
• Size: Though they appeared small in the sky, they were much larger than an airplane—approximately the size of five airplanes together.

Behavior

• The orbs initially appeared suddenly in the sky.
• They moved in rapid, erratic patterns:
• Shot upward from approximately 20 degrees to 45–55 degrees in the sky.
• Hovered, moving left to right for several minutes.
• Suddenly shot straight upward at a 90-degree angle and disappeared without fading.
• The entire event lasted approximately 8–10 minutes.

Environmental Context

• Conditions: The sky was clear, with no clouds, and stars were visible. It was a typical warm summer desert night, around 75°F.
• Area Effects: The lights did not illuminate the surrounding area, but they had a distinct hazy aura.

Witnesses

• My roommate and I both witnessed the event and repeatedly questioned what we were seeing, ultimately concluding that these were UFOs.
• We attempted to capture photos, but the phone technology of 2012 was unable to capture the orbs.

Impression

• The objects were the fastest-moving I have ever seen in my life, far surpassing the speed of any known aircraft.
• The sighting evoked feelings of shock and awe, but no fear.
• There was no accompanying sound, environmental impact, or other noticeable phenomena besides the orbs.

This experience remains one of the most unexplainable and memorable moments of my life, and I am confident that what we saw was not a natural or man-made object.

Glowing disc near Military Base

On the night of 9/17/2011, around 9:52 pm, I was sitting in the backyard of a friends house with them. (There were 4 of us that witnessed the event) My male friend and were sitting on the couch talking and facing north. It was a clear night, no clouds. This allowed for a clear view of Joshua Tree valley over to the top of the hill on the north side. There was no air traffic in the area. I noticed a light come into view to my left at about a 45 degree angle from the bottom of this valley. The valley is maybe 2 miles across from where we were sitting to the top of the north side hill. I didn't know what ti was at first then I jumped to my feet and exclaimed, "Look! Here we go!" The others immediately saw the object as I pointed to it. We were unable to miss it. The object was traveling west to east over the north side of the valley. The object at first had a glowing flame like aura around a white center. By the time the object got to the point of being straight in front of us, it no longer glowed red and appeared as a bright white circular disk. By then we had our camera phones out and 2 of us were taking pictures of it. There was no sound from it through the entire event. When it reached 3/4 across the valley from west to east, it dipped down then changed directions heading to the north east and disappeared out over the 29 Palms Marine base. As a guess, the object was traveling at approximately 30 to 40 miles per hour while it was on its west to east trajectory. After 30 minutes to an hour, I noticed normal aircraft in their normal flight patterns to the north and very high up. I was extremely excited to witness such a blatant event. I remained excited the rest of the night and continued to watch the skies in the area until I went to bed without any further sightings.

my friends and i were sitting in his back yard on a couch faceing north when I noticed a bright fireball enter the view on the left. to me at first, it looked like redish/orange easter celophane for baskets. I brought it to their attention and about that time as it was moving from left to right, or west to east, i began to see that there was a bright white center. i quickly got out my camera phone and started to take pics. after a few shots, i turned and changed the resolution on my phone. when i did, they said that it dipped and made a turn that was simmilar to a question mark. i turned around in time to take some more pics as it fadded out of sight. there was no sound associated with this craft nor was there any strobe like from conventional aircraft. it couldnt have been more than 200-300 feet high.

Floating object with yellow lights at Joshua Tree National Park

My son and I were walking around the Cottonwood Campground shortly after dark looking for desert wildlife when my son noticed a bright light and asked if it was a meteor. Oddly enough, the coyotes were howling wildly until the object appeared. I looked up and just above the ridge near the Gold Mill was a very intense yellowish light, similar to a street light (yellow form). We watched the light and then shone a flashlight towards it and as we did the object rotated towards us and two lights were visible, though it appeared they were both attached to the same object. The object was no more than a quarter mile from our location, just outside the B-loop bathrooms. The object didn’t move or leave the area and hovered just above the ground with a dim light projecting below it in a search-like pattern. We both thought it might be a helicopter but when we realized how close it was and that it was making no noise we were puzzled. I realized I had my video camera with me back at the campsite and we both ran and got the video camera and my wife, brought them back up the hill and started taping. I was shaking badly but managed to get several minutes of video of the object which is clearly visible and close. At one point the object appeared to lower and then a single light came in view in the very place the object was before, it rotated and two lights became visible. We watched this thing for nearly 10 minutes and then it dropped below the hill. An orange glow could still be seen for several minutes. We walked back to the campsite, very confused about what we saw and quite honestly terrified. The orange glow reappeared on the horizon around 9:45 and we left the campground for a hotel. We are not, or were not UFO believers, but I cannot explain the totally silent object that we saw tonight.

White lights in a row that came one one at a time and went out all together

Very bright, (beyond bright, luminous) perfectly round white lights came on one at a time in a kind of row that formed a wide arc. They were on for about thirty seconds to a minute and then they went out altogether, like someone turned off a light switch, snap, they were gone. After a couple of minutes the whole thing started again ending the same way after about thirty seconds to a minute. They were over the horizen to the north, higher than a helicopter but lower than a jet. When I told my mother about seeing them she said they sounded very simliar to the Phoniex lights of 1997. Looking at those on the internet I can state that is exactly what I saw except these were much brighter. Afterward the lights went out the second time nothing else happened for about ten minutes and then I noticed helicopters from the Marine base(29 Palms) flying around the same area.

Mojave Desert Mystery Circles are actually an old Military Bomb Target

In regards to the photo and report you have of strange circles in a dry lake bed I believe that I have the answer. The circles and line appear clearly in Google Earth at latitude 34.152137, longitude -115.573694. The line appears to eminate from the exact center of the circles and point due north. The outer circle is 400' in diameter, and the inner circle is 200' in diameter. The line is 500' long.

An entry in Google Earth Community shows a location marker very near there titled: "SHEEP HOLE MOUNTAINS SONIC BOMB TARGET #2". It seems very likely to me that these circles are either the bomb target itself, or a landmark pointing towards the target - but in either case it was obviously placed there for military practice.

I believe that this "mystery" has been solved.

Orb acts like satellite descends over a mountain and flashes a great light across the sky turns it off zips back to sky acting satellit

The date and time are likely off and just best guesstimates. I was 16 and lived in Yucca Valley, CA was in the jacuzzi with my best friend who had seen a ufo and we made fun of him for it but it was a very clear night with the stars as good as I’ve ever seen them and jokingly and teasingly said, “wouldn’t it be crazy if we saw a UFO!?” He was frightened and told me to shut up. I was laughing looking up (toward due south) and ironically saw what appeared to be a satellite moving in orbit and said, “Look it’s a satellite!” Again, “Shut up” and I said, “No, look it’s actually a satellite.” And he looked and said, “Oh, yeah.” And we watched it move from the south part of the sky to the southeast part of the sky for maybe two seconds before it stopped for ~5seconds then began to descend at a steady and fairly slow rate (compared to the latitudinal traverse) at ~60 degree angle headed NNW and ended up over the mountain that separates Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree National Park which I’ve seen strange things and people back there. There’s a huge theater-like seating arrangement carved into the rock and living quarters (appears Native American) which very few probably know about because it’s not near to where tourists go and I would ride my dirt bike there which would be about a 30minute ride to get back there. The orb got brighter and brighter (signifying the depth/angle) and was purely an orb appearing as a Star would with no defining features because it’s too bright and was about 3x wider in diameter than any Star/planet visible in the sky seeming to be about 5 miles away now and maybe 2,000 feet high as it was just above that mountain a couple hundred feet. It turned on a “spotlight” which was extremely bright and able to reach across the whole sky above and behind me and would scan the west part of the sky (spotlight moving left to right and back) and I said, “Oh, shit! It is a UFO!” and a couple things happened right then. My friend jumped out of the jacuzzi and slipped and fell and ran inside and the spotlight went on us for about two seconds then took the exact path it took coming down to zip up to exactly where it started coming down then took the path back toward South with the exact path acting like a satellite again for about 3 seconds and disappeared.

Midnight in Joshua Tree- Viewed 4 points of light in diamond-shaped formation as they stopped, spiraled in place, and disappeared.

Around May 28, 2004, I was out in Joshua Tree National Monument with friends. Around midnight, just inside the West Entrance to the park in an area called, "Hidden Valley Campground", I saw what I at first thought to be 4 satellites in perfect, diamond configured orbit. It seemed unlikely, but they were extremely high up, silent and moving very slowly.THEY RESEMBLED NOTHING ELSE I'D EVER SEEN. Then, they stopped moving altogether, with two of the "lights" spiraling out and then rejoining the formation. Then all 4 objects sped out in opposite directions, disappearing almost immediately.

Unfortunately I was alone at the time, and my reporting of the event to my friends resulted in so much laughter I dropped it, and would have let it go forever had my brother not insisted today I scour the web for info (I only just told him about it recently). After stumbling on a very similar account in your pages, I figured I'd pipe up.

I am a filmmaker and photographer, based in LA for 17 yrs.

My husband and I were lying on lounge chairs by the pool of a local "Inn", star-gazing and satellite watching. From 22:00-23:30 we spotted 6 satellites.

Then in the Northern sky we both saw what appeared to be yet another satellite moving, but this one was very large (about 5 times the size of the others). It was a large, clear, and solid bright white. It was moving in s slow straight line/course. Then, it suddenly it made a VERY fast and sharp/severe Double Zigzag (like a giant “W”) across the sky, and completely vanished. I said, "It must have passed behind the mountains." My husband replied, There are no mountains there. It just vanished." He was right.

The following morning I phoned Twenty-Nine Palms, USMC, and spoke with a Captain. I told him what I saw and asked him if it was night maneuvers. He told me that there were no night maneuvers that night.

Short duration UFO seen descending from approx 45 degrees above Northern horizon in a strange back and forth motion. Slowly lost luminosity and disapeared.

I was watching the Leonid Meteor Shower from Joshua Tree not far from interstate 10 freeway (i could see freeway in the distance). Facing the freeway (North) at approximately 4:00 am, my attention was drawn to a rather bright star-like object in motion. I would guestimate the magnitude of this object was a -1 or about the brightness of Sirius. It was slowly descending towards the mountains in the distance. Now I have seen many objects in the night sky that I could easily explain such as Meteors, planets, artificiall satellites, airplanes, etc.. But this object did not 'act' like any of these. It was moving side to side as it descended, reminding me of a falling feather. As it descended it also seemed to be loosing some brightness but basically dissapeared very unexpectedly. The duration of this sighting was less than a minute. Conditions were mostly clear with some clouds moving in from the West. Interestingly, as I saw this object, meteors simultaneously streaked by it but my attention was focused on this strange light.

UFO that dissapeared and reappeared but closer than before!

At approximately 1:30am, My Brother noticed a Very Bright Object Due South of where We Watching the Annual Leonids Meteor Shower. I looked over where my brother was pointing and WOW it was! The object was Bright Orange in Color(Streetlight). The Beam coming down from the object was a Dimmer Orange reaching the ground itself. I estimate the Distance to be 1/2-1mi. Distance. The object is estimated to be 50 ft Sphere. This object casted a Sharp shadow on the desert ground(-12 mag). Watching the object for about 2min it suddenly vanished out of sight! I was so shocked. After, I went over to the truck and laid down, closed my eyes, and was awakened by the same object but much closer, Brighter, and bigger! Hovering there for at least another 2 minutes, it suddenly vanished again out of sight. I was officially getting freaked at that moment. about 5 minutes later, The object came back even closer(500feet away at least). Also, the object was much brighter, I estimate a magnitude of a -16. Staying there even longer, About 5 minutes and it was gone again.Wierdest thing ive ever seen in my life.

I went to JTNP late after work from Long Beach, CA. Was planning a 3 day weekend as I did a lot then. When arriving at the park the campgrounds were full, by law you can camp at least 1 mile from the roads....So that was my plan and had done numerous times as the park is very busy in the spring when weather is mild.

I drove to a pull off near the Lost Horse Mine Rd on Keys View Rd where I packed my backpack, put it on, locked my truck, lit a cigarette and began to hike across the open alluvial flat to find a spot to stay the night. After about 10 minutes I put my cigarette out and continued about another 200 feet before happening to look back. When I did there was what I thought a bush burning right where I had put out my cigarette... I immediately dropped my pack, grabbed a Nalgene bottle of water and started running back towards where I thought I must have started a fire with the cigarette. As I got close the orangeish ball of light moved very quickly away as I approached. I froze in disbelief/confusion. The orb of fire colored light started panning around me after first moving directly away from me running at it. My next thought was it was someone with a laser pen playing with me (They were around at that time but I think in red, green and blue only but?). As it kept panning slowly around me (Maybe 200-300 feet away now) I noticed that it went behind a Joshua tree and the in front of another..... It was at that moment that I realized it was no laser as to be in front of one tree and behind another in close distance it must be emitting it's own light. Basically, I was convinced someone was playing a trick on me with a laser but when it was behind and then in front of a tree debunked triangulating someone from a fixed position (There are tall mountains very close by).

The orb continued moving at a slow fixed speed doing a 3/4 circle around me, stopped for a few seconds and then shot away almost instantaneously to the south and gaining altitude. It was out of sight in less than 3 seconds. It was a perfectly clear desert night.... So, that equates to an unimaginable speed and it had no "start up". It went to "light speed" (used as a reference) immediately. I obviously left the area and upon returning home on Sunday night and telling my brother he said that there were sightings in Phoenix. The famous Phoenix Lights sightings the same night.

This orb was very small. stayed about 3-4 feet off the ground. Made zero noise the entire time. Looked just like fire but round. No hyper defined edges but looked perfectly round. Left under unimaginable speeds.

I know what I saw. It was not ball lightning. To make things worse I just saw another orb but larger, I believe basketball or beachball sized. This time I was over 300 yards away and was seen for just a few seconds. This sighting was this last October on the flanks of the Inyo Mountains just after sunset near Mazourka Canyon. Independence, CA would be the nearest town. I cant say with certainty that this second sighting was a UFO but the first was so close and happened for such a long time and was reacting to me that Im SURE it was a UFO.

Firebsall probe from large craft, exibiting obvious intelligence.

My friend and I watched a large craft at altitude approach from the south for some time. It had one bright light. As it neared, a fireball came out of it and the fireball descended to very close distance in front of us and hovered close to our faces. It interacted with us for several minutes, apparantly able to scan our brains. It then instantly returned to the craft of origin. My friend was extremely tramatized by this, as I must say I was profoundly affected also. I have never reported this before, but would like to know if other reports are avalilble regarding the intelligence obviously present with this fireball.

Saw 3 saucer-shaped items traveling in formation, 3 stationary lights on each. Traveling at 2:00 AM over Joshua Tree National Park

My husband, at the time, and I were camping in Joshua Tree National Forest. It was in the summer of 1985, in June. We were sitting on the tailgate of our station wagon, star gazing. It was about 2:00 AM. We had binoculars to watch the stars. I took the binoculars from him and looked up into the sky. At that moment I saw 3 saucer-like shapes traveling in a formation, one to the left and right of the middle saucer, in a horizontal line across the sky. There was 3 lights on the front of each saucer. They were very bright. In my binoculars, they seemed to be traveling slowly, not speeding. I gave the binoculars to my husband and he saw the same thing. The ships lasted about 10 minutes in time, then just seemed to disappear as fast as they appeared. We could not see them with our naked eyes, just through binoculars.

single satellite type object omits other object flies in formation and rejoins

While camping in the desert one Saturday mid june 1976 around 2200 me and two friends were laying on a large boulder gazing upon the night sky when we observed a satellite type object traveling east to west at about 80 degrees looking north. object appeared to be at a altitude and speed of a typical satellite and also appeared to be reflecting sun light. The object at about one olock emitted a twin object which flew in a side by side formation rejoined at 12 o'clock parted again and returned to a single object at 10 o'clock. All three of us were stunned and I could not beleive a jet could fly that high and fast. I was on active duty with the U.S. Marines and have some knowledge of aerospace and have observed many types of aircraft, weather balloons, space vehicles (Mir, Shuttle and many satellites}. I also have a interest in astronomy and have seen my share of meteors. me and my friends still talk about that sighting till this day.

Multiple silent flashes in the sky.

I was camping in Joshua Tree with my husband and several friends. We had been there for several days when another group of people arrived and camped next to us. We did not know them, but we all became aquainted pretty quickly. We were all hippies (at least that's what people called us then). One of the men from the other group was coming back from the outhouses and he was walking along a narrow dirt road that led back to our campsite. He was only a few feet away from the central campsite when he suddenly stopped and looked up into the sky and said, "What the hell is that?!" We all gathered on the road next to him and watched an amazing display of flashing lights that covered an extremely large portion of the sky above us. Each flash was independent of the others and there was never a flash in the same place twice. (On your form I estimated that there were 400 flashes but I actually have no idea.) We stood there for at least 45 minutes or so watching and trying to figure out what it was. We knew it wasn't aircraft because it was totally silent. (In the desert sound carries for very long distances). We knew that we were near two airports. One was Palm Springs Airport and the other is a military air base nearby. I don't know the name of it. When the planes went over we could hear them very well long before we saw them. These lights did not trail in any one direction like you would see on a plane with blinking lights on it. It was as though we were seeing the lights from several objects that were zig-zagging all over the sky at incredible speeds. I was not aware of anything being blacked out behind these objects. They were flashing at such incredible speeds all over the sky that it seemed we were only seeing lights not objects with lights on them, but the flashes were such a bright white light that I wondered if this was some kind of natural lightning phenomena. As far as I can remember there were no flashes that occured simultaneously. Each flash was independent. The weather was clear, cool and dry. (It gets cold in the desert in December!) There were no clouds and no moon that night. The only other light that could be seen was the faint glow of Palm Springs on the horizon. We eventually got bored with it and went back to what we were doing. Every now and then someone would look up to the sky and say, "It's still happening". It went on for approximately 2 or more hours. I would have reported this sooner, but I didn't know who to report it to until I heard an interview with Peter Davenport on WERE 1300 radio in Cleveland today.
