Black triangle UFO hovering over my dad's pickup truck

One summer day in the mid-late 2000's I had a close encounter with a black triangle ufo. It all happened in the small town of Linda, California, during sunset hours. I was about 12 years old at that time. My dad and I were driving back from the store in his little red pickup truck. It was one of those days where everything and everyone was pleasantly quiet. The town was at peace and there weren't any other cars or people in the streets. The weather felt good so our windows were rolled down. We were on North Beale Rd. when I saw in the distance an aircraft moving oddly over the neighboring town of Marysville. It made no sound and was hovering quickly and then slowly in a very straight trajectory. It flew the distance of the entire town, and then it would stop, and reverse the entire distance again, all in only a few seconds. This is what caught my attention - the fact that it was able to "reverse" in mid air (like a car can reverse) without turning around (like an airplane or helicopter do). In that moment I knew this was something else. I kept my eye on it as long as I could. I told my dad about how weird this craft was moving and he didn't really care. He didn't even bother to look at it. Finally we arrived to the corner of Silverwood st. where a large building blocked my view of the UFO. When we made that left turn into Silverwood st. I immediately searched for the UFO again, but I could not find it. In that moment I had the most anxious and unexplainable feeling take over my body. Without logically knowing it because I did not visually see where the UFO had gone to, I already "knew" that it was hovering over our truck. So naturally I poked my head out and looked up and there it was. A black triangular shaped hovercraft with a single white light in each corner and a red light at the center. It was big, about the size of a small single-family home, and it was silently hovering about 25ft over my dad's truck. I couldn't speak. I wanted to yell! I wanted to get my dad's attention, but my body didn't allow me. It followed us for the next 4 or 5 seconds until we finally made the turn to go into our street. The encounter was a only few seconds but in that moment it's as if time had stopped. I vaguely remember it taking off by going straight up never to be seen again. When I got home I told my dad and my mom everything I had just witnessed but they were dismissive. It was infuriating because I knew nobody was ever going to believe me. In 2021 my mom told me she saw the same black triangle shaped UFO in Linda. It was silently lurking in a neighborhood in between some large pine trees. I'm 30 years old now and I still think about what I saw to this day.
