Bright white and orange glowing lights in over Monterey Bay.

Was facing SW and seen a dim patch of glow with haze around it. From where I was standing it seemed far and near. Observing it at first was like trying to look at a star when it's cloudy out. It started out small and white then it grew and expanded to bright white light and looked like a very large comet. Then it slowly faded back to a small glow haze, almost completely invisible. Within thirty seconds it started glowing again and more intense into a bright orange, and red color. Had a rounded blot shape which split into, which I could best describe as, "two odd shaped balls of energy." It got harder to see as it seemed it was getting farther away repeating the dim/high glow pattern.

6 bright red orb-like objects in the sky hovering above Monterey Bay. They looked somewhat like fireballs moving fairly fast in all directions and slowly faded up into the sky within 2 minutes of one another. Definitely NOT mistaken identity for flying lanterns. I am not sure how long they were there for, from the time I noticed to the time they disappeared it had been about 15 minutes.

Ribbon Shaped object high in Atmosphere with metallic highly reflective ends, beam seen in one picture visible

Looking west towards San Francisco, saw this ribbon shaped object with metallic ends that reflected off of the Sun. Another smaller craft flew around it once then disappeared. Watched this for 20 minutes move from one side of the sun ( from our perspective) seemed to go towards and Over San Francisco, then Silicon Valley.

Its orientation changed as moved through the sky. The altitude of the Object was above jet traffic and the chemtrails being laid down today over Santa Cruz. It could have been a Mile or so long but so hard to judge. It seemed to get higher, re-oriented and left our sight. Have 11 pictures.

The ends were highly metallic and shined brightly in the Sun and the ribbon-like structure in between was white but also highly reflective. You can see the ends clearly are structured when you zoom in on these images.

Also viewed with nice Binoculars it was brilliant ... . 5 witnesses.

My wife and I saw a glowing orange light moving around in the night sky near our home. A minute or so later, another light appeared below it. They moved around for a a minute before I went inside to get a camera and handed it to my wife. She was confused at first and thought she was filming the UFOs, but I told her she was filming the streetlights!

So I took the camera from her and got a still shot of one of the lights before it faded out.

While watching the lights, a neighbor walked by and saw the lights as well.

Bright red torch-like object seen ascending rapidly, making a right angle turn, and disappearing from view in Capitola, CA

At approximately 20:10, PST, my husband and I were outside of our home in Capitola, CA. We were startled when we saw a bright red light that suddenly appeared in the sky. Initially, the light seemed to be quite a distance away and relatively high in the sky (it was to the right of the moon from our vantage point at that time).

The best description we can give of the object is that it seemed similar to the shape of torch and the red color was extremely bright. What struck us as most peculiar was that the object was ascending rapidly, practically straight up. Then it suddenly and rapidly moved right, almost at a right angle. Then it began moving toward us and its flight appeared to take more of a horizontal course. Without taking our eyes from the object, we moved our position on the ground to maintain an unobstructed view of its course. The object continued to fly horizontally and then it disappeared before our eyes. We remained in the same position for several minutes but the object did not reappear. The skies are clear so we feel relatively certain that the object did not simply disappear behind a cloud.

We have never before witnessed a similar phenomenon in the sky and we weren’t sure how or where to report this experience. We found your website after conducting a Google search. We are curious to learn if anyone else in the area witnessed a similar object in the sky.

Orange light in the sky

I was walking heading North West on New Brighton State Beach. Approximately at 6:17 pm, there was a bright orange light that came from the north east heading south at a 45 degree angle. It was like a ball of light, but it was not round. It was bigger than a planet but smaller then the moon. It stopped a few hundred feet above the neighborhood that is north of the beach. It hovered in one place for a minute to two minutes. I could not hear if it made a sound because I was walking right next to the ocean.

It then headed upwards at another 45 degree angle away from me towards the northern direction. It moved in this direction very fast and within 5 seconds, the light got very small and then totally disappeared.

I called the police and news station to see if anyone else reported something or if there was a festival going on, and there was not. Please let me know if you saw something this evening

Last night I took a walk to the cliffs (Monterey Bay) and I looked up at the sky quite a bit; the crescent moon and stars were beautiful. I was almost to my front door when I looked up one last time to appreciate the night sky. My eyes were instantly drawn to movement- the movement of a triangular craft! It was above my house and flew eastward until trees and homes blocked my view. It moved quickly and silently across the sky. Its color was a dark grey, only a few shades away from the color of the sky. It had three lights, each one close to a point of the triangle. The lights were not typical white lights, like that of an airplane. They were dimmer, circular, and wider in circumference than the usual aircraft lights. They did not have a color. It was hard to judge how high it was flying, or how big it was. It was close enough that I could clearly see that it was a triangle with three lights. My thoughts while watching it were, "Wow, I'm actually! seeing a UFO! And it's a triangle, just like ones I've heard about. And it IS silent. Wooooow." Then it was gone.

I walked in the door in a state of shock and told my husband and son what I saw. My son thinks it's military. I don't know. I suppose they could have some super-stealthy technology that we don't know about. I don't know what it was, but it was certainly NOT an airplane, a mirage, weather phenomenon, or any of the normal things one sees in the sky.

I have never, ever seen anything like this before. Not even close! I am a stay-at-home mom in my 30's, very honest, Christian, and I am telling you, and anyone who'll listen, I saw a triangle UFO. Something strange is out there!

3 crafts flying off of the monterey bay from the south heading north over Capitola, 2 of the crafts were in formation and the 3rd flew up from behind and joined them in a perfect triangular formation. The speed that this was done at was incredible.The entire sighting was approximatley 15 seconds There was no blinking lights the craft were white lights. There was absolutley no sound. These were no jet aircraft.

4-5 dim amber lights in chevron formation, silent, extremely high speed, South to North.

Capitola CA: June 4, 2007, 21:43.

I witnessed an unidentifiable flying object(s).

While taking my dog down the steps from the second floor apartment, I looked up at the sky as I stepped off the last step. Facing South, I saw at about 45 degrees azimuth an array of 4-5 dim orange or amber, round lights in an obtuse "V" pattern, almost a straight line.

The lights were smaller in diameter than a pencil eraser and moving north at extremely high speed. They were silent. I couldn’t comprehend what it was, and I turned to watch as they passed over.

As I tried to identify the shape, the left-most light deviated from the formation by increasing its distance from the next closest light, while the others maintained the same formation. The formation traversed approximately 120 degrees of the visible sky between apartment buildings in 3 or 4 seconds. I could not tell their altitude.

At the same time, a commercial airliner was crossing the sky at nearly the same vector, but a much higher altitude. After watching the amber light formation, the airliner seemed to take an impossibly long time to cover the same distance.

I think I saw a UFO!

blimp-like ufo seen 15 miles east of Tallahassee

I was feeding my sheep and heard a jet so I looked up and saw the jet at about 5,000 ft heading north and at about 1,000 ft I saw a large torpeodo thing flying south. The jet and noise were gone in about 10 seconds; but, the tube was silent, big and slow (faster than any blimp but much slower than a plane like a cessna 172). It was not a blimp because it didn't have a pod beneath or fins or engines and it was much slimmer than any blimp. It was shiny as a mirror and I didn't see any wings. I began to scream "look, a spacecraft!" over and over. Three girls about six ran over and I believe they saw it as I was headed to a neighbors house who came out to see what all the fuss was about but it had passed behind some trees. When it passed between two trees, it was about rice grain size and to far to see well. I guess it passed about a quarter mile east of me and was about the size of two semi-trailers.

An object that looked like a bright white circle with a cone shaped tail flew with an irregular flight pattern and then disappeared.

The object appeared to be a bright white circle with a slightly dimmer cone shaped tail. At first it appeared to me to be a comet. The flight path was irregular(zig-zaging) and slow. It left a con-trail on a cloudless dusk sky that remained in the sky for quite some time afterwards. The object followed the irregular path for 35 - 45 seconds and then hesitated for a moment and then evaporated/disappeared.

Air Force Test Missile Out West

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (AP) - An Air Force missile test Thursday provided a spectacular light show seen over California and much of the West, as far away as Utah and New Mexico.

The colorful contrail was seen soon after the unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile blasted off at 7:36 p.m. from an underground silo at the Vandenberg military base north of Santa Barbara.

"The smoke went up in spirals as the sun was setting and turned into an orange, amber color. It was like a flower going into bloom pretty quickly," said Simon Cox, who saw it from a restaurant terrace in Santa Barbara.

The missile traveled about 4,200 miles in about 30 minutes, striking a predetermined target at the Kwajalein Missile Range in the western chain of the Marshall Islands, the Air Force said.

Vandenberg spokeswoman Kelly Gabel said clear conditions were responsible for the spectacular light show.

"We do this two or three times a year, but because the weather was so perfect we decided to launch it early," Gabel said. As a result, people were still awake to see it, and although the sun had set, sunlight below the horizon glinted off unspent fuel particles and water droplets.

"Suddenly we're getting calls from people as far away as New Mexico who saw it and want to know what it is," Gabel said.

The mission was directed by the 576th Flight Test Squadron at Vandenberg and the 341th Space Wing and the 341st Space Wing, from Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana.

The purpose was to test launch systems and the missile's accuracy and reliability.

A wing shaped, lightly glowing (smoky white) thing flying out towards the Montery Bay each night for 2 nights in a row.

For 2 nights now I have seen this 'chevron/wing' shaped light... It is very odd. It moves very fast from the south to the north (maybe a little west)... It reminds me of the way a flashlight can be seen in the fog except that there is no length to the beam that reaches the ground. It is hard to describe. It moved silently and quickly... No flashing lights at all, just this almost smoky, ghostlike chevron/wing that cruises across the sky. The last 2 nights here have been clear and tonight it is completely clear.

I am not sure why I have seen this but prior to both times the thought occurred to me that I should go and look at the stars (something that I almost never do).

I have had some passed experiences that were much more intense than this and they were wittnessed by others but this has left me with a really wierd feeling.

Small triangle with two props 3 feet from each wing tip and perfectly quiet at a low altitude.

I was out surfing and it was a weekend day. Often airplanes will fly fairly low over the surfers just to check us out on the weekends. I was at a surf spot called "sharks" which is near the "Hook" a surf spot that is directly at the end of 41st avenue which runs from Highway 1 to the cliffs at the Pacific. We were sitting there and we looked up because there was a twin engine conventional aircraft approaching at about 1,000 feet and below it and moving much slower was a triangular craft small at about 500 feet and approximately the size of a hang-glider except that it had firm trailing edges and there was no bow in the wing as there is in hang-gliders. Additionally this craft was completely silent and about 2-3 feet thick. It looked too thin to have held a human and there was no landing gear. This craft had 2 props located approximately 3 feet from the left and right tips of the triangle. It was white with no other markings. It flew directly overhead and the continued to go at the same altitude directly over the land. At this point the twin engine conventional craft banked off to its left to avoid going over the land at a low altitude. Before and after the conventional craft came and went the triangle traveled at about 30 miles per hour and was completely quiet. One surfer said to me "what the hell was that?" I replied that it looked like and unmanned aerial vehicle. The other two surfers said nothing. Most of the time us surfers prefer not to talk to each other at all. It is not like a friendly atmosphere with other surfers as we are basically competing for the best waves and there is more hostility out there than friendliness if any conversation at all. A few days later I called the nearest airport which I believe was in Monterey and I spoke with an air traffic controller. I questioned him about the legal altitudes for aircraft over water and I believe he said that it is 100 ft. over the water and 300 ft. over the land but I am not sure of those numbers. The reason I asked this question is because of the fact that the twin engine banked off when the craft went inland. It looked to me that the twin engine had seen the craft and was buzzing it from above to see what it was. The air traffic controller said that he had not recieved any other reports but asked me to report to him if I saw it again. As an important side note; my brother-in-laws father worked at Lockheed Missiles and space in Silicon Valley and also in L.a. In L.A. he worked at the skunkworks as a purchasing agent and he was buying wooden hand made props for unmanned aerial vehicles that he said were powered by chainsaw engines that had exhaust systems installed to make them perfectly quiet. He said they used wood props because they were only 2 feet long and made by some obscure small time person who could shape them the way they needed to be effective and also quiet. The craft I saw looked too thin to hold a human although if the human was lying down in the prone position perhaps he could fit inside. What amazes me is that the military would fly such a craft over heavily populated areas on a weekend in Monterey Bay and over land too. It was interesting but looked very much man-made.-((name deleted))

Author of this report later writes that he believes the object was a military Unmanned Aerial Vehicle ("UAV").

I was out surfing in the Monterey Bay at a surf spot called "sharks" which is near where 41st avenue run from Hiway 1 to the Monterey Bay. We; myself and 3 or 4 other surfers heard an aircraft overhead and we spotted at about 750 to 1,000 ft. a triangular craft pure black no markings and very thin approximately 3 ft. thick. It was silent. What we heard was above it a twin engine civilian craft that looked as though it was "checking out" the triangle. The triangle was the shape of a hang-glider but rigid wings and had two small approx 2ft. propellers at the trailing edge of the triangle about 2-3 feet from each of the two points at the rear. As the triangle was only going about 40 mph the twin engine overtook it quickly and as the triangle went inland over the land without a change in altitude the twin engine that was about 750 ft. above the triangle banked off. The triangle kept going inland. It went right over our heads and was flying level and was not gliding. It was under power as proven by its level and slow flight for a long time. It was not an equalateral triangle but had a trailing edge that was smaller than the leading edges. It looked unmanned as it was very thin and if a man had been lying down inside of it it would have been very cramped as the total thickness looked to me about 2 feet. I mentioned the sighting to the other surfers out there with me and I said what the heck was that? One replied a "stealth" obviously referring to the stealth bomber or the stealth fighter of which I have seen both in flight doing a couple of fly bys at a Stockton, CA airshow a few years ago. This was way smaller than the stealth bomber and fighter and was very small. I spoke to a family relative who worked at Lockheed Missiles and space in LA at the skunk works for several years and he said that the drones they were working on had wooden propellers 2 ft. long made by a local civilian. The question is why would the military fly a craft over civilians in mid-day at such a low altitude and go over su! rfers a known surfing spot and then go over land? There was no attempt to hide it. I reported it to the FAA at the Monterey airport and the air traffic controller said to me that if I spotted it again to please let him know. Since I am 50 years old and have never seen anything even close to this before I mentioned to him that it was highly unlikely that I would ever see it again.
