Over the water roughly 10,000ft above the ocean. Just hovering in one spot slowly started to move them gone in millisecond. The shape was very bright silver rectangle bottom no wings or propulsion viewable. The rectangle appeared to have sliding sides to it. The brightness of the silver and the enormity in size to hover like that it was amazing. This is my second last was a few months ago in Simi Valley sort of a pinkish/red ball just floating above the mountains where I live. Then as I turned the street I was looking straight at it then I'm just took off into upper atmosphere the color was something I really cannot explain but it took off North gone in a millisecond after a full view from my car. I want to watch these things more often. The 4ectangled bottom and bright silver was something I have seen others across the world film. It's a different design than these cigar shaped but looked aero dynamic with unbelievable size and speed. I'm getting up at 6:30! every morning. The 7;54 am seems to be a good time to see so between 6 anD 8 AM they will be back. They are different species of ships which could mean multiple planets have this crazy speed. We are not there. Even at hypersonic is not as fast as these objects or that size 9bject with the ability to hover in 9nr spot let alone leave at speeds unimaginable.

Looking from Simi Valley due west there was a flashing light, white, red, green. It seemed stationary until we realized that it was actually moving west at a very slow rate of speed, it took about an hour before if was out of sight. This was witnessed two nights in a row.

This light has been see raising up and seen as a bright white light in the past and the colors could have been atmospheric the last two nights, though the sky was clear.

Me and my mom were driving to the store and saw what looked like a shooting star but realized it wasn't since it was very slow moving and as it got closer to the mountains it got very large and very bright!

It landed and made a bright flash near the building in the mountain that used to be Atomics International (there was a nuclear meltdown years ago).

I saw about five orange glowing spheres traveling at a slow steady pace one after another. They were spaced fairly even. I recorded the event on my Samsun Galaxy S5 phone. The lights had the exact same color as high pressure sodium street lights. I found this strange as I never saw this color before from an aircraft. The lights were solid and non-blinking. The traveled generally North and then turned West towards Camarillo. They appeared to be high in the sky. At first I thought they may have been toy drones, but after the first one 4 or more showed up soon after in the same flight pattern. After heading west they got much dimmer rapidly, and I could no longer see them. My best guess would be some military aircraft, but I really don’t know. In the videos you can see regular planes fly by as a frame of reference, so you can see just how different these lights looked. Since these lights were flying very close to the main air corridor to LAX and Burbank - I wonder if any pilots or passenger saw anything.

A black round object flew across the sky in day time from East to West in Simi Valley

A round black and purple object flew across the sky from East to West at the constant speed, without making any sound in almost clear sky. It was observed by 3 people - a 39 yrs old guy, working in IT industry and well educated, his 8 yrs old daughter, who is in third grade and his 64 yrs old mom, who has been science teacher for most of her life.

Initially, the dad thought it was a helium balloon left free by some kid, but the round object flew at a constant height and constant speed and it flew across the sky instead of going up, as in helium balloon. We cannot recollect seeing any such object before and so we think it is an alien object. We could not take picture because it flew off our sight in 1 minute.

Hi Peter,

Sorry, I submitted the time incorrectly. We sighted it on Dec 7th, 2014, at 12:07 PM Pacific Time, which is still 12:07 is 24 hour format. It was about an hour ago and obviously 20:07 hasn't happened yet :).

The sky was clear with little clouds at the time of sighting. We were playing in backyard, watching humming birds when we saw this object. First I thought it was a helium balloon because it was about the same size, but its speed, height and direction didn't gel with any free flying balloon. It was flying towards Thousand Oaks which is west of Simi Valley and I am sure others might have seen it if someone was driving in the car or outside looking towards sky.

My daughter was first to notice, then my mom, and then me. My mother said, she observed something like fans on either side of round object, but when I looked up it was a bit far and didn't notice anything like that.

I was sitting on my couch and seen a bright red light out of the corner of my eye. I turned and looked and it was a red fireball floating in a slow upward diagonal motion. Called my son and we both went out side on the patio to watch it. After awhile it flickered on and off about about 4 times moving in a much faster sideways motion and then disapeared. The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes.

Low level, bright amber glowing light flying toward us then turned and accelerated straight up out of sight, amazing!!!!

Standing Outside my home looking south a bright Amber Light came over the hill above Khuener Rd maybe a 1,000 feet or so above the mountain top. Expecting it to be an airplane I kept watching for the Red and green flashing lights but the closer it got the more brilliant the became. As it was just about over my home it slowed down when I realized it was neither a helicopter (No Sound) nor was it and airplane (no sound and no flashers) i called my dad outside. He came out just in time to watch the craft make a slight turn east and accelerate straight up through a cloud and out of the atmosphere we watched the light decrease in size relative to a street light becoming the size of a christmas light in less then ten seconds. The speed and acceleration without a sound was absolutely amazing.

At approximately 2:30am, I had just finished feeding my baby when I realized my cat had not come in yet. I opened the sliding glass door to my upstairs bedroom and went outside to call for him.

I looked up and saw a bright red pulsating/blinking light hovering relatively low.

At first (and possibly still) I believed it was a helicopter. I heard no noise though! It was close enough that I should have heard SOMETHING. My husband is a police officer and was working at the time. I immediately called him to make sure everything was alright, why was there a helicopter hovering in the middle of the night? He knew nothing about it. He did ask me how many glasses of wine I had (zero). He told me he would come to the house and check it out, but never did. After I hung up with him, I woke up my 11 year old son who happens to be on a UFO kick right now. We looked at it together for a few minutes and then went back to bed (both in my bed this time because he was scared).

I got up a little while later to look out the window and it had moved significantly farther away. I looked again a little later after that and it was gone. I have cell phone video of the object. My husband suggested that it was possibly a helicopter doing surevelance, but really? With a glowing red light on? The only light was the red one. No white, no blue, no green.

When the red light pulsates off, it was black.

Flock of geese disappears after being approached by a small white sphere.

There was a flock of geese flying east in a typical “V” formation. A white object was approaching the formation from the west and below at an angle of approximately 45°. At first I thought it might be another goose joining the formation, but I’ve never seen a “white goose” so I thought that it could be a seagull.

As I tried to get a better look at it, I couldn’t distinguish any appendages such as wings or head, it appeared to be spherical in shape with what looked like a mirror sort of reflection flashing randomly, nothing like a wing with regular features or motion. Its size appeared to be similar to a goose or seagull.

As the object started to get close to the geese, their formation became erratic and the typical “V” became chaotic while it appeared that they were trying to regroup but were unable to. The white object reached a point close to the geese–with the direction of the flock being east and referring to the direction of flight as 12:00, the white object stayed at approximately an 8:00 position close to the group, but not inside, now moving as if it were part of the group.

I was trying to adjust my vision to see the white object as a bird considering that my eyes were, “playing tricks” with my perception, but I just couldn’t see anything but a sphere. After a minute or so, the entire flock including the white sphere “disappeared”.

There were no obstructions or clouds to block my vision, but I moved around to different positions to try to get a different perspective because at this point I wasn’t really considering something unusual happening. What really held my attention was the thought that I was seeing some sort of albino goose.

It took a few minutes after the flock of geese disappeared that it struck me that something more unusual was going on.

There were no unusual sounds or other objects, no aircraft of any type were in the area from my perspective. The sky was clear with high visibility. Only the geese and the white object were seen. The approximate location was: 34° 17’ 39” N, 118° 41’ 42” W (from Google Earth). Unknown Altitude.

I really don’t want to jump to any conclusions. I’m sure that there may be an explanation that just hasn’t occurred to me.

Three orange lights in a triangular formation hovered over my neighborhood for several minutes and disappeared last night.

Electrical power went out in our neighborhood at 8:00 PM, so it was quite dark in the night sky. My next-door neighbor was on Facebook on his phone when he saw a posting from another neighbor, XXXX, down the street about the unidentified lights in the sky.

So XXX, my next-door neighbor, went outside to look at what XXXX was writing about. Dan got very excited and called me and my husband outside, to see the lights. They appeared in the north sky in an equilateral triangle formation, with one light at the apex of the triangle and two at the bottom. The lights were orange in color and looked rather like flames or that they were shimmering. All three lights hovered in the triangular pattern for a few minutes, and then it appeared that the two lights at the bottom of the triangle were growing dimmer until they finally disappeared.

I ran into the house and got a pair of binoculars, through which I viewed the remaining light. It was still a bit blurry for me, so I! gave the binoculars to my husband. He said the remaining light appeared to be an array of parallel lights numbering 4 on each side, with a white light on the top and bottom of the array, in the middle of the parallel.

The remaining light began to move slowly west in the sky for several minutes until it too, disappeared. When the lights disappeared, it looked like they were turning sideways until they were no longer visible. At no time did any of us hear any sound and the lights did not move quickly. There were a few distant airplanes in the sky, whose blinking running lights appeared quite different from these orange lights. Another of XXX’s friends, whom he called, also saw the lights from a different perspective about a quarter mile away from our house.

descending light South of 118 freeway

At 21:22 my sister and I noticed a pulsating light south of the 118 Ronald Reagen freeway. The pulsating light moved up and down and displayed a light that changed from purple/red to blue, a spectrum of color, like a rainbow. My husband thought it was a star but I used my Google sky and the light was south east of the moon, white there were no displayed or obvious stars or constellations. I watched several other woodcrafts fly pass the pulsating light. The light then faded away about 21:30. At 22:48 my sister was looking out our patio door window which only faces South, screamed "It's back!". My husband ,sister and myself then witnessed a light with two points illuminating the color of a very vibrant and dark red color. It descended down South of the 118 free way. It had no sound, moved extremely fast, and was very eerie for my family and I to see. I took photos with 12.1 mega pixel sony camera. I have my bachelor degree in psychology, my husband works at a! airline valve company and my sister is a high school student. The light at 21:48 descended down in tremendous speed and could only been seen for a min. The pictures provided were photographed off my galaxy S blaze 5MP camera of the sony display screen and zoomed.

Wife and I saw lg, round neon green disk moving in SE direction and returned. It hovered, dropped, rose high, and darted to the NE.

My wife and I saw a neon green object heading in a southeast direction in Simi Valley, CA toward the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, CA. It followed the regular flight path of incoming flights.

Although it was very odd shaped and all lit up in a bright neon green color, we assumed it was an explainable aircraft heading to the airport. The shape looked like a life saver candy but the bottom had a large dimple similar to what a red blood cell looks like.

After it passsed behind some trees, and we assumed it was going to the airport, it returned in the opposite direction and then stopped and hovered. It dipped straight down very fast and just as fast, it rose again and hovered. It then took off toward the northeast at a very high rate of speed (NOT toward the airport).

Not sure what we saw, but it did not seem to fit into any explanation we could come up with.

It was about 8:45 pm and my daughter and I were coming back from the gym. We were at a red light on Tapo Street In Simi Valley Ca. 93063

When he saw a very colorful aircraft coming our way. We thought it was a helicopter at first but as it came closer and closer to us we looked at the object very close and it was in the shape of circle .

It has quite and could not hear any noise as you would a helicopter or airplane. In the shape of the circle object it had four smaller circle’s flashing color lights, one blinked like a clear color and the other blueish red.

As we got home and parked the car we got out and saw others flying in different directions, but a couple of them came close to one another and one passed by quicker than the other. It stayed like this as I have described above me for about thirty minutes.

I tried to take a picture but my camera could not focus as far as my binocular could.

Bright light seen from stable most early eves from afar...is not aircraft!! Appears to greet us? and then watch us awhile.

2010-2011...NE sky seen from South Simi Bridle Path area. Our UFO started appearing about a year ago over the horizon/overlook we have from our horses' stables. It began as a story the kids began running and telling us after feeding time, and confirmed by me, many times by now, always at or just after dusk.

It is just one extra bright star at dusk or shortly after dark falls, that one could say "opens it's eye", suddenly, as we are about to go down the final walkway to the stable breezeway...JUST LIKE IT HAS SEEN US COMING AND WOKE IT UP? That is the part I can't get over or explain. The white star will "watch" us, with no other airplane lights, i.e., no red/blue or any colors involved on it, compared to LAX /BURBANK planes that soar over us many times while visiting our horses and while the star "watches" us, rarely moving. It is absolutely NOT a plane, NOT a star. I have made sure of that because I feel silly enough about writing this.

Many times, the light gets "bored"?, moves slowly sideways or upways for awhile, with no particular agenda, and then at last shuts off gently,and the show is always over just before we finish up our equine chores! So wierd! Looked at it with binocs one night and it looked pretty far away and it seemed made of about five or six smaller stars but I can't be sure. Wonder if anyone else has seen it?

Very Bright orange/red light seen overhead in Simi Valley 3-19-10

Approx 8:15 pm, 3-19-10, Very Bright orange/red light almost directly above not moving for at least 1+ minute getting brighter holding then dimming and almost flashing brightly and dimming with no set frequency. Faded out to a barley seeable whitish/yellow blob for maybe 10+ seconds then bright again and flashing dimming up and down, still not moving almost directly overhead. After 1 min or so of this, it started moving slowly toward the east/south east doing the same brightening fading thing as when it was still. As it was moving it then faded out to the barely seeable whitish/yellow blob for maybe 2 minutes then brightened again as it approached near the horizon. It then faded out to the barely seeable whitish/yellow blob and appeared to start turning towards the left, then disappeared.

The whole thing lasted for maybe 4 minutes or so.

I have seen many satellites, meteors, planes and jets and this was nothing like any of those.

Cool blue fast flying cross shaped machine doing unbelievable gymnastics in the low sky at sunset.

This craft was the same color as the last one I reported to you. It was the color of the blue part of the flame in your cigarette lighter. The outside of the flame is orange red, but the inside of the flame is beautiful blue. Just like this.

This craft came closer to my house this time. I am not sure it was the same type of craft I saw last time since this one had a head and a tail and seemed to be in the shape of a diamond, or cross. It also had running lights on the outstretched wings and tail.

I am reporting this sighting to you because no conventional aircraft could maneuver the skies the way this guy did. Like my last report, the craft went around the mountain just north east of the Reagan presidential library in Simi Valley, CA.

This time the craft was doing some very beautiful and tricky flying. All of us saw it. I called my roommate Alex so he saw it too. It feels good that so many of us saw it in the back yard. Alex and I were the only adults. The rest were children ranging from 4 years to 12 years.

It occurs to me that my grandson’s father works for a company that manufactures government drones not too far from this site and this may be a test run of one of their machines. I only know that this thing moved very fast and circled the area of over 3 miles in seconds doing acrobatics whilst in flight. It was cool. I want one!!!!!

Bright powder blue puck shaped disk flying in circles near reagan pres library, 50 to 75 ft long, 1 mile away

It was 5pm and like usual I was making dinner for my daughter and myself. My daughter is 7 years old and was playing in the back yard. I had just plugged in the deep fryer and had my back to her when she called to me to look.

I turned around and saw it immediately. You couldn’t miss it. The sun was setting behind the mountains between my house and the Reagan Presidential Library and the sky around the mountaintops was a beautiful orange glow.

The craft was a bright glowing beautiful light blue exactly the color of the inside of a flame from a lighter. Not the red part of the flame, but the inner blue part of a lighter flame. It was shaped like a hockey puck. It was flying less than 100 feet above the ground and was going around in circles over the mountain slopes. I saw it from the side from my backyard about 6000 feet or1 mile away, so from that perspective, it looked flat just like a hockey puck.

I gauged the size of the craft, from 50-75 ft. in diameter, based on a large white water storage tank that sits on one of the hills it was flying over. It flew silently in circles over these hills and since I saw it from the side, it was banking from side to side as it reached the outer extent of its circular flight, like a skateboarder in a pool.

My first thought was how beautiful it was and how gracefully it traversed the sky. Then it appeared to come closer to me and I got a little nervous. Next it went back to the mountain and ducked out of sight. My daughter said, "Look, Daddy, it’s gone." I told her it would be right back and sure enough it came back from around the other side of the mountain like it had flown all the way around the mountain.

All I could think is, "I WANT ONE!!!" Later, 2 huge helicopters were searching the hills with spot lights looking for something.

I still look, but haven’s seen it again. Please let me know if anyone else saw it or captured of film.

we saw what looked to be an explosion because in the center was white and then a huge red light around it, it moved closer over us and then hovered and shot straight up in the air till all you saw was a red dot left. it almost felt like it saw us looking because at first it was further than seemed like it moved directly over us, i realize there was no explosion but the red light around it was huge and nothing was falling from it. it did not move like a plane, it was very fast and went directly up toward the clouds. i do have a picture, i do not have the computer plug to download picture, i can get it i also have a the picture developed.

Variable orange light in the sky over Simi CA

On the night of August 15, 2009 at approximately 11:00PM we saw something strange in the sky. We were hosting my son's birthday party and were in the backyard enjoying festivities. There were about 40 people in attendance.

I was standing by the pool when someone called my attention to an odd orange light in the sky that was varying in intensity like a fire. It was moving towards us at the right speed and altitude to be a small plane and was heading from south to north. I then noticed my son standing next to me looking at it as well. I thought at first it was a plane on fire. As I watched I noticed that there were no other lights on this object like an aircraft should have, just a chaotic dimming and brightening orange light. We did not hear any sound from the object but we did have music playing outside that could have masked any sound.

We watched the object travel across the sky, behind a large pine tree, and back into view. A few moments later it started dimming and then went out entirely and we could see only dark sky. The whole event seemed to last about a minute but my better judgment says about 30 to 40 seconds.

There were no clouds in the sky, no unusual weather conditions, just a calm cool summer night.

I checked the news on both the internet and local paper today (the morning after) but have found no reports of anything that would explain what we saw.

A horizontal moving flare? Ball lightning? A troubled aircraft? Others must have seen this which is why I'm reporting it, so that perhaps it can be resolved as to what this was.

Strange object spotted over Simi Valley

While outside on a patio looking up near the ursa major constellation saw what appeared to be a really slow moving object re-entering the atmosphere. It was visible for about 1 or 2 minutes but never really clear what it was. after about another 2 minutes it was visible again but was a very dim orange or amber colored but not bright, like it was faintly glowing. It was moving from the east to the west and appeared to be falling to me. It continued to move towards the horizon and disappeared. I thought it might have something to do with the space shuttle landing, but heard no boom and the shuttle I later learned had landed in the afternoon, six or more hours before. Two other friends also witnessed the event.

Discovered UFOs in my Photos

I was taking pictures of the sky as I always do especially this day, March 17th, since it was so clear and bright. The weather was perfect. I was enjoying the day, seated in the patio, working with my PC.

Then I heard and saw a green helicopter flying low and I tried to photograph it, but couldn't because because I had to adjust the zoom and could nto be fast enough, so I kept taking photos of the sky, towards the mountains and freeway 118, farther away. Later upon examining all the photos in my PC, I saw the object that looks like a saucer, shiny surface and all. (This is a crop of the original, zoomed-in photo.)

Later in the afternoon, I heard another chopper, went out, and there was the same green one. I tried again, but it was too low to focus and I had my camera in zoom to take photos of distant objects, so I could not catch it. Again, I continued to take pictures of the sky at random. I waved goodbye to the green chopper as it went behind the trees and out of sight.

The photos in the afternoon pictures look like triangular objects, I am sure these cannot be birds at a distance; they would have to be gigantic to photograph this way.

The "saucer" like object photo was taken in the morning. The afternoon photos show dark triangular objects. The photos were taken with a Canon Powershot G10 digital camera. (This camera has a maximum resolution of 14.7 mega-pixels.)

Since that day I have taken more photos and some days I have caught cylindrical, triangular and cigar shaped object. For 2 years of doing this I did not discover any strange objects in my photos but they are becoming a weekly thing.

Daytime sighting of craft over commercial jet in Simi Valley, CA

I was looking at a low flying jet when I noticed an oval metallic craft about 5-6 hundred feet bout the jet traveling in the same direction at the same speed. Suddenly, the craft stopped abruptly and started in the opposite direction and accelerated about 8-9 the speed of the jet that it was following at the time I first saw it. It reached a point where it just blinked out and disappeared. This was 45-minutes after the space shuttle crossed over simi valley in its path to Edwards. It was not a bird and it was metallic and reflected the sun.

5/23/08 circular orange fire ball object went from 1 to 2 objects and droped embers

Hello, My name is Sondra...I have lived in Simi Valley for 17 years. I am writing to ask, did anyone report or comment on, seeing anything unusual, in the sky, Friday night (5/23), around 11:00pm? My husband and I witnessed a bright orange circular object, at first hovering then traveling toward us, from the south skies over Simi. While watching we both noticed the object released a smaller light (maybe ambers) that dropped toward the earth, into the hills to the South of Simi. Of course it could have been further away. Then the object came toward us, closer, becoming larger the closer it got. When it seemed to be over LA Ave, it suddenly turned West and picked up speed. It did not pulse, it did not change color but it did become what looked like two round lights. I thought it might be a fireball, or comet but my husband said it looked like two perfectly round lights, like headlights of a car, only in the sky and orange. We have a pair of very strong binoculars and could see this object close up. All we could see were the lights. Two of them staying proportionally together during the entire event. My question is, did anyone else, that you know of, report seeing this? This event lasted 10-15 minutes. Surely someone else had to of seen this!

A large amber light released a smaller amber light, which descended and disappeared, leaving the original light in 2 pieces (25 mins.).

An amber light northeast of Simi Valley, shined VERY clearly through cloud coverage, suspended in 1 place for at least 20 minutes, before another smaller light descended from the original. After it's descent, it took approx. 20 seconds for the 2nd light to disappear, and when it did, it did not appear to change in size, it just disappeared. The 2nd light remained, but it was now 2 smaller amber lights, instead of 1 large light. This light remained still, for 2 minutes before heading north, and ultimately out of site.

A brightly lit reddish round object in western sky on March 13Th at 3:05 am.

It caught my attention at approx. 3:05 am in the western sky in the lower horizon seeming to be going up heading west to north. At first I thought it was someones special effects launch like a Sky Lantern round and brightly colored reddish orange like the color of Mars in the sky but as I directed my friends attention to the object we noticed that it began to move from west to east staying consistent in color and brightness. There were no clouds a slight breeze and was very clear. As we watched it move I noticed and confirmed this with my friend that there was a faint short very fine orange mist particle trail behind it. I have seen many meteorites of all shapes and sizes and have seen space debris burn up upon earths re-entry. I have seen all types of missiles and rockets and it wasn't a helicopter or any kind of current aircraft I have ever seen. This was none of the above! We watched as the device moved across the early morning night sky for approx 3 Min's. It for a moment became brighter and turned slightly whiteish then disappeared in the lower middle of the sky. It re-appeared approx. 15-20 sec later at it's last location for about 30 sec then disappeared again. We continued to watch for it to re-appear but never did again. Around 5 Min's later there was a sonic boom! About 3 Min's after the object disappeared there was a commercial passenger jet approaching from the northwest heading towards where we last seen the object. The sonic boom cam 2 Min's after the jet. But I know for a fact that it did not come from it.

I wonder if they were able to see this object? What was it?

Massive triangular aircraft flying over Simi Valley hills at 9pm

I was in my front yard with my little sister, looking at the moon, when all of the sudden I see this massive triangular aircraft flying over the hills. There were big white lights all along the edges, this is how I know it was a triangle. I shouted to my little sister to look, and she kept telling me it was only a plane, calm down. But there was no way it was an airplane. It was way to close to the ground, and it was very clearly triangular. It was behind the hills and out of sight in about thirty seconds. I ran inside and told my mom, but she told me I was a moron.

I was lying on my hammock in my backyard looking North/West at Orions Belt at 08:35 pm. when a dim light treked through my line of sight. As I followed it, it staggered and grew brighter for a second, sped up, dimmed back to original illumination [like a star or satellite] it kept travelling north to south but with noticeable mini 'S' turns included in its flight. It kept going same speed, same turns, same direction until it faded out of sight to the south.

Ridiculously fast flying vehicle spotted over Simi Valley Tue. March 13, 2007

My daughter and I were driving home at approximately 7:40 PM (PST) on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 in Simi Valley California when I caught something blue out of the corner of my eye. It was airborne and flying at a very high rate of speed. I looked to my left just as my daughter, who was sitting in the passenger’s seat, did.

I saw two blue lights flying side by side. It looked as if there were two vehicles flying side by side at extremely high speeds, one slightly above the other. As the vehicle approached, and was in front of us, there appeared to be only one, not two. The vehicle flew very low, low enough for us to make out certain details, but not low enough to skim roof tops or anything of that nature.

The only way I can find to describe this vehicle sounds rather silly. It looked like a snowboard. It was rectangular with slightly rounded corners. There was a blue light on each end and the bottom was illuminated white, although no white lights were actually visible. It was bigger than a plane that seats two but smaller than a large passenger jet.

The vehicle itself was platinum colored, very shiny. There were no windows visible. It looked very thin in reference to "cockpit" height. I don’t know where someone would have been sitting? Maybe reclined a bit? My 10 year old daughter was frightened and asked me "Mommy, what is that?" I simply responded, "I have no idea honey," as I could think of nothing to relate this vehicle to. It had no wings and made no sound. It flew like nothing I’d seen before. I am not aware of any vehicle that our military possesses that could possibly fly as fast as this was flying.

My daughter and I were evidently not the only people in awe of this sight as there were people driving in the same direction down the same side street that I was, 3 other vehicles, and we all stopped! I never even looked in my rear view mirror. There were people out walking; the weather was beautiful and very warm that evening, as well as watering lawns and they were all stopped and pointing up.

I was approximately 3 blocks from my home, short neighborhood blocks, not city blocks. I looked away for a second when I realized that I was literally stopped in the middle of the street. Every other car was stopped as well, including a black vehicle that was stopped dead center in a crossing of two streets. It was surreal, like something you’d picture in a movie and as I sat there, I kept trying to make sense of what I was seeing.

As soon as I got my bearings, I realized that I had been holding my cell because a few seconds before I saw the lights, I heard it ring the voicemail tone. I hit the speed dial for my husband. I kept saying, “go outside, go outside and look up!” He was totally confused and was asking in which direction? I told him to “look east toward Santa Susana Pass because there is something flying in that direction that is unbelievable!” He wasn’t fast enough; he only saw the two lights far, far in the distance.

My daughter and I had been driving North on the side street and had to make a right turn on our street, going east toward my home. As I reached the intersection of my home street and the street I’d been traveling on, I could still see the vehicle in the distance. Again, it looked as though it were two and not one, with one light slightly above the other, side by side. I looked away to the left before making the right hand turn and when I looked back up, it was gone.

When the vehicle was in front of us you could clearly see that it was traveling end to end, but when it was coming toward us and passing us, it appeared as though it was flying side to side. My daughter still insists that it was two, they came together (she uses her hands to describe this), and when they passed, they split apart. I tend to think that it has something to do with the angle it was flying at that makes it appear as though it was two, an optical illusion I guess.

I had assumed that there would be many reports of this as I was on a tiny side street and there had to be at least 12 probably more like 15 people on that street alone! It was flying the length of the Valley; I can’t imagine how many other people saw it, but it had to be a large number.

It wasn’t 100% dark, it was clear and there was no way you could miss this thing as low as it was flying, unless you happened to be looking down. Unfortunately my older daughter and her friend were out on the drive way of our next door neighbor’s house, drawing on the ground with chalk, and missed the whole thing! My older daughter kept saying “But we didn’t hear anything!” I don’t know what it was, but it was ridiculously fast, silent and wingless. It flew in a straight line and the lights on the bottom were constant, no blinking etc. It doesn’t appear that anyone reported it, or if they did, I haven’t read anything about it. They probably feel much the same as I do. You don’t want people to think you’re crazy and you don’t want to be audited every year for the rest of your life for asking the government what it was! lol I’m posting this to try and get a reasonable explanation to help my little one sleep better at night. Like I said, she was frightened, I on the other hand thought it was amazing but was not in fear at all; more in awe.

I went out on my porch to have a cigarette. I looked up and at first I thought I saw a plane High in the sky. When I looked closer it was red in color and it was too high up to be a plane (My family is full of pilots, I KNOW AIRCRAFT!)

I called my wife out of the house to look at it. It looked like a red star moving slowly across the sky, Very bright red light.

At first I thought it might be a satelite. But it kept moving farther away until it stopped right below two stars under neath the Orion Belt. It gets really bright red and then flickers back to a white color. It is still there...

Really wierd!!! never seen anything like it... Any ideas what it could be???

Satalite does a 180 deg in night sky.

I saw some thing very interesting tonight.

At aprox 9:48 pm, give or take a few minutes, on 10-18-06, I saw what I thought was a very faint satellite. There was no moon in the sky and the sky was fairly black.

I just happened to look almost straight up, just a little to the west I think, and a very small satellite caught my eye. This object was traveling at approximately the same speed as one would expect from a satellite.

After traveling approximately 4-6 arc degrees in a straight line, the object turned 180 degrees in about a 3-4 arc distance. It did not appear to slow down. Shortly there after I lost sight of it because it was so dim.

I am basing the size of the moon as 1 arc. Sorry if this is wrong.

Bright glowing white lights in Simi Valley coming from Santa Susana Mountains and then going over 188 Freeway

We were driving east along the 118 Freeway, and to our right were the Santa Susana Mountains where Rockedyne is also located. I was the passengers seat and felt the need to scan the mountain tops with my eyes. All of a sudden i saw a bright light and told the driver to look at it. H elooked and said, "yeah its bright, its probably the top of a tower." As we kept driving towards the mountains I kept watching it and it was getting closer and brighter. As it got closer I could see two balls of light side by side. Then it began coming closer till it was right above us. I opened the sun roof and we pulled the car over to the side of the freeway so we could stop and watch it. It was directly over head and it was in a triangle shape. There were two white balls of light in front, and behind those two but alittle closer together were two slightly smaller balls of light. It was still quite light outside, and despite the size of these balls of light, i could see no craft that would be connecting the lights. And in the middle of all thses lights was a signel blinking light.We watched in awe as it moved out of sight. I live in LA near two major airports and this is nothign like i have ever seen. The only colors were white, no red blinking lights like what are normally on aircrafts.This aircraft moved very quick, but it seemed to slow down above our car like it knew we were watching.

I was driving south on Royal Ave, passing First St., when overhead was a red and orange craft. It was somewhat bright and hovering. The moment I saw it, I knew it was not a plane, helicoptet, star, or anything of familiarity. I parked to look closer and it was moving very oddly and traveling toward Moorpark. I called my sister and drove back toward my parent's house where she was at the top of First St. This is where my sister, her friend and I saw the object travel further away, upward. It sat and looked like a star for awhile, but occasionally hovered from side to side. Then, the object dropped something!Whatever it dropped was a white light. We waited for an explosion or something but nothing happened. Then the object disappeared, came back, and then disappeared completely.

Strange yellow oval of light weaving at sharp angles, definitely not any type of plane or helicopter.

As a security officer on patrol during the graveyard shift I noticed a very strange light in the sky over Simi Valley. I was at the intersection of Royal and First St. and saw a light that was definitely not like an airplane, it was too large, the color was more yellow and completely steady (not flashing). The light appeared to be circular but slightly oval with barely visible light lines darting from the most accute point of the oval. The light moved very slowly and made a zig zag pattern in the sky that was definitely not that of an airplane. The light was definitely unlike any helicopter light (again, not flashing) and that is the only other flying object it might have been judging by it's pattern of flight (ability to weave back and forth at sharp angles).I was only able to witness this for five minutes, from 23:57 on 6/5/06 to 00:02 on 6/6/06. I had to continue my patrol and felt I would appear foolish to call in a UFO sighting to my dispatch center or local law enforcement.

Bright lights and glowing ball seen over Simi Valley, Ca..

I was recently watching a documentary on the History Chanel. During this documentary a photo of an unusual occurance in the sky was shown via photograph. I immediately reacted. Myself, my husband, and my daughter had just seen the exact same occurance. I however, caught the whole incident via digital camcorder. My daughter was also taking photos whiled I was recording. The sun was set and it was dark. My husband was out cleaning the inside of his vehicle. I was out talking to him when this amazing zig zag of lights appeared in the sky. The zig zag displayed several bright colores in a trail floating behind a bright object glowing as though it was on fire. We were all amazed! None of us had seen anything like it. Even my non believing, skeptical, level headed husband was taken watching the object. I hesitated making any kind of fuss over this incident until I saw the documentary. I know what we saw cannot be explained away. It was an Unidentified Flying Object.

Three star-like lights traveling in formation West to East that disappear.

On August 12, 2005 about midnight, my wife and I were up to watch the Perseid meteor shower. We were lying on our backs on our trampoline in the back yard of our Simi Valley, CA home. At approximately the same time, we both noticed three lights, no brighter than the brightest visible stars, moving from West to East. I first thought them to be satellites, but they did not move in a straight line and I did not think satellites would travel together in a set of three. Next, I thought they might be a high-flying formation of military aircraft. The middle one was out in front of the other two. However, they were jostling around and did not remain in a tight formation. We watched them for about 10-15 seconds. Then when they were at about 80-85 degrees from vertical, the lights simply vanished. I cannot explain why the lights went out if they were standard airplane lights. It is possible that the objects were at high enought altitude to still be catching reflection from the sun and then passed far enough to the East that the sun went under their horizon. I am not sure how high they would have to be to still be catching rays from the sun at midnight, however.

Extremely bright object moving very slowly at a extremely high altitude

I was on break at work outside and I looked up and noticed a very bright object extremely high in the air. My initial thought was it was a satellite. After a few minutes of studying the object I realized it was not a satellite or it would of passed already. The object did not go in a straight line either. A gathering appeared and one theory is it was a weather ballon, I am hoping your sight would be able to confirm if a weather ballon was in the area. The reason I do not think it was a weather ballon is it changed directions. Due to the height of the object it was to hard to give an exact description.

Small red globes going to and from a satellite to the earth. Satellite has since has disappeared.

About 3:00AM I couldn’t sleep and was looking out the window. I noticed a distant bright star in the sky I assumed was a satellite. Suddenly I could see about a dozen small red globes of light appear to leave the satellite and head toward the earth. It looked like something from a video game. This startled me so my attention was fixed on the object. As I watched I observed multiple red globes of light going to and from the satellite toward the earth and back.

Watching this phenomenon for period of a couple of hours I confirmed this was indeed a stationary object and therefore a satellite. In spite of the red globes I was tired and dismissed the object and went to sleep.

The next night it appeared again and the same red globes went to and from the object as before. I woke my wife up to make sure I wasn’t crazy and she watched the red globes going to and from the object toward the earth. We were both amazed.

On the third night I watched this object again and the red globes traveling to and fro. On the forth night the object was gone and never reappeared. That’s when I wasn’t so sure what I observed was ordinary because stationary satellites always remain in the same place.

The direction was in the North Eastern sky. It could be a military experiment or some other perfectly explainable occurrence. I don’t know what I observed so I felt it was worth reporting to your database.

I did roll video but nothing appeared likely because my camera was a very old model and had no night capability. I still have the 8mm tape of the attempt somewhere in my drawer.

I am an extremely skeptical person but this experience certainly has provoked some second thoughts.

On the date of 3-12-00, A friend and I was outside in front of DENY'S in Simi Valley. When at 1:19 am in the moring when we both seened a Fire ball in the South-West sky which looked like a meteor then changed shape and hover above us.

On the moring of 03-12-00, I was waiting outside in front of Denny's located at 590 E Los Angeles Av. Simi Valley, Ca. for a friend to show up, which she did at 1:19 pm. At that moment, we both seen a white/orange fire ball with a tail approx. 20 times longer the the Dim. of the object in the South-west sky heading toward us. To me, it looked like a meteor going through the lower atmosphere,or an airplane with it's wing on fire. This lasted approx. 2 minutes. then the odject turn into a white dot with a blue haze around it and slowed down very fast. That this point the odject was almost above us in the clear early morning sky. Then the odject stop above us at a high altitude for approx. 3 to 4 minutes it turn into a hazes red ball, and faded away into the morning sky. .

Large amber shape spotted in the Northwest sky...

Myself, along with two other passengers, were travelling westbound on the 23 freeway in Simi Valley. At approximately 9:20 PM, I noticed a strange large amber light in the northwest sky, approximately 30 degrees above the horizon. At first I thought it was the moon, but I knew the moon wouldn't be in the southwest sky at 9:20 at night...it's too early. One of us commented seeing the object, and all acknowledged they had been watching it for about a minute. The object was about 1.5x the normal size of the moon in the night sky. The fog had rolled in by then, but about a half-sphere was visible through the fog, as if it was partially masked. The object did not appear to move at all, and within 10 seconds slowly faded into nothing. The object must have been some ways off because even travelling at 70 MPH did not make the object appear to be moving.

The object in the sky at first appeared to be an unknown type aircraft with it's landing light on. The light went out and no red or green lights were visible. A minute later the light reappeared and repeated the same sequence. When it extinguished the second time it disappeared in a different fashion. It went out much like an aerial fireworks does...in segments, in an upwards direction.

There were four people in my car. My wife was driving. My 10 and 7 year old sons were in the back seat. I was in the front passenger seat. My wife told the boys that they had just seen a meteor. The boys told mom that meteors don't stay stationary in the sky and then fade out. I told my wife that I had seen the light disappear twice in a two minute period of time. We all decided to watch the news tonight to see if there was anything on the sighting. Unfortunately, we missed watching the news tonight. In all probability they would not have covered it anyway.

Summary : "Delta" shaped group of motionless bright red lights sighted over Simi Valley, Calif.

At about 9:25 p.m. on the evening of May 22, 1997 in the Southern California city of Simi Valley (about 25 miles NW of L.A.), while returning home from a Boy Scout meeting, my 12 year old son and I noticed an unusually bright red object in the Northern sky. We pulled into the parking lot of a local school and exited our vehicle to get a better observation. What we saw appeared to be not one but a "tight" group of perhaps 10-15 extremely bright red lights in the shape of a flat triangle or "delta" at about 330 degrees (looking towards the Big Dipper constellation). The objects semed perfectly motionless and emitted a constant bright reddish glow. We observed no blinking of the lights, nor any other lights of another color (such as white aircraft lights). After approximately 4-5 minutes of observing these objects, they appeared to suddenly dim and then suddenly disappeared from sight as if they lifted vertically at an extremely high rate of speed. We heard no particular !sounds during this event. We then returned home and shortly thereafter telephoned NUFORC to report the event as aforesaid. We have not previously observed such an event as this and are very "impressed" at whatever our sighting was. We have since accesses the NUFORC web site and have noticed very similar sightings in North America in the recent past. We would be pleased to further discuss our sighting with NUFORC.

SUMMARY: A silver metallic object streaked across the sky in a northeast direction. It suddenly slowed to a complete stop before going straight up and performing zig zag maneuvers. It then shot off in the NE direction. Within 45 minutes we observed 2 fighter jets flying in tight wing formation going in the same direction as the UFO.

The ufo appeared to be a slightly flattened egg shape. It was a clear cloudless day, with only con trails from the airplanes in the sky. Sunlight glinted off the top and the bottom. The object was heading toward was the Malibu, CA area. The area where we were observing is comprised of hills and agricultral zones. Because of the cooler temperature, all planes in the sky were leaving con trails, however the ufo did not. I am unable to estimate how high, or how big the object was, although it did not appear to be all that high, or all that large. The hill directly beneath the object when it stopped had sheep grazing at the time. The speed the object moved was amazing, as were the complicated maneuvers it performed. Approximately 45 minutes later we observed 2 fighter jets flying in close tight wing formation and heading in the direction the ufo had taken. One of the gentlemen with me if familar with planes and fighter jets as his father was a lifer in the Air Force, and!he spent nearly all of his growing up years on AF bases. One other interesting point, the ufo was going in the direction of Rockadyne, a company facility that builds and tests rocket engines. That is all I can think of at the moment.

I am a scheduler/ dispatcher for a technical service and support department. My educational back ground is 2 years of college, and working in the Customer Service and Support field for 23 years. I am interested in ufology, although I am not involved with any ufo groups. There were 2 men beside myself who saw the ufo. They are both in the sales field for our company, and other than the gentlemen with the AF background, I am not sure of the complete back ground of the men.

I saw a beam of light from Hollywood at 10PM as I drove home to Simi Valley. The Beam was brighter than the Lexor in Las Vegas. After driving for 45 mins

I could see that the beam was coming from the far west end of Simi, its source was a mile or two from the Regan Library. You could see the beam from 50 miles. The source was in a small valley in the hills at the end of the Wood Ranch Parkway. The beam looked like a blue white laser and shot up five miles with no flaring out or diffusion.

I drove to the nearest place I could and found several other cars driving past a guard blocking a fire road into the hills. I asked the guard what was going on, what was that light? He said they were making a video for MTV and told me to leave. He had no badge, no plates in the car, no logo on his jeep, he was not a cop.

Three days later I walked up that fire road and found a warning sign, "International Security Corp., AMSEC". SEE PHOTO. AMSEC was owned by SAIC.

What I found was interesting, and a large depression in the dirt, burned grass and an area 50ft x 50ft square of small quarts rocks with perfect 90 degree corners.

18 wheeler truck tire marks in the mud and small metal filings.

Oh, and a security guard in a white Bronco way up on the hill watching me, and a few cows.

I checked with Simi Valley city hall and there was no movie permits issued for any area at that time for any movie or video production.

I want to know what this light beam was. It looked to be a 50 foot wide laser beam that went up 5 miles. This all took place 5 or 10 days after seeing a fireball fly over the valley.

Why was a spy satellite builder guarding a cow pasture? Was this a possible UFO crash site and recovery? Or a test of some kind.

There were multiple objects that hovered and accelerated at lightning fast speed.

we were in our early teens in a local park around 2 am when i observed a small light over the mountains. shortly after 3 then 4 then another appeared.We sat motionless for awhile and observed what we thought to be airplanes and then helecopters as we then noticed they were not moving. These lights were small dots along the horizon in a random formation and accelerating rapidlly and comming to an abrupt stop! This would go on intermitanlly for about 10-15 min.We all knew that these objects could'nt have been created by any earthly technology.We stood around mezmorized, our eyes fixated at these objects when all of a sudden, one by one, they accelerated like a blink of light out of the atmosphere and into space.We were later informed that Rocketdyne, where they test the shuttle engines, was up on that same mountain top. PS. this story is not made up! Yhis really happened.

Miraculous angelic orb of incredible speed seen by two witnesses in Simi Valley, March, 1978.

At 22:00 hours on the evening of March 7, 1978 my friend, Steve Glick, and I were returning from a drive-in movie back to my home at ((street deleted)) Ave. in the city of Simi Valley, CA. I was driving a 1966 Dodge Dart and pulled into my driveway, which was due North. As we got out of the car, my friend said with great emphasis "what the (bleep) is that". I looked up into a cloudless night sky and at an altitude of about one to two thousand feet above us, at a distance of perhaps five miles, was a transluscent orb of oval shape travelling horizontal to the ground at an extraordinary rate of speed. Within moments the orb then banked downward and then shot straight up into a cloudless night sky and accelerated to a rate beyond the realm of aviation that I was aware of and then blinked once and disappeared. The entire event took less then fifteen seconds. It was clearly not a vessel that either of us had ever seen before and, in fact, did not appear to be a vessel at all but a kind of "angelic" or "celestial" plasma. It did not hurt our eyes to look at it and seemed to operate with intelligence and trajectorical intent. The acceleration of the orb was in the realm of the miraculous and caused us both to question what we had seen, or if we had indeed experienced this at all. My friend then said to me "We didn't see that" and to this day has not spoken of the event at all. I, however, continue to be informed and changed by it to this day.

I would say this UFO experience was more of an "Angelic" witnessing rather than an aviation event.

Noticed red lights to the north of Simi appearing to be in the mountains, girlfriend thought she was seeing Magic Mountain

Object had all red lights around edge, and hovered for 5min. Then all red lights went out and a few stayed on others blinked making it look like a plane as it went south towards a rocket engine testing sight called Rocket-Dyne, as it got over Rocket-Dyne all lights once again returned as it hovered for a few min. The object appeared to be disc shaped with a sail shaped rotating apparatus on top with lights at the points. This object never made a sound and was no more than 1000ft in the sky. As this object moved south it did so at about the speed as a plane. When it left it did so very fast, looking like a blue streak, you could not follow it, it was gone in a second, still never making a sound. This has been a long time ago, but I still remember all the details, this is really the first time I have had an opportunity to document it. Hoping there are others who witnessed the same object.

Thought were satellites, but too low and 90 degree "turns", twice.

Crafts were appx. 10 miles away and appx. 30,000 feet or more high. Sun had set and was reflecting off bottom of crafts. Have seen same "light" from commercial airliners. Craft would not have been seen by eye without sun reflecting off bottom(s) Estimated speed: 3 to 5 thousand m.p.h. One made a 90 degree drop about 1 mile in a split second, continued for 3 seconds, then another split second 90 degree turn back to origional position. Continued until flickering out from losing reflection from sun.

I can witness to the actual size of a craft

I am 36 now, but when I was about 10 years old I saw a disk shaped craft glide between my home and my neighbors home, it was under the roof lines of our homes, and it was in a school zone area close to the inner city so our homes were very close together (I can't remember the address, but the street was Ulysses Ave, or maybe St., the elementry school was a block away, and it was/is called Arrora Elem., and it is on the left hand side of the road from our house, our house was in the bend of the road from there) My room was on the second floor, and the craft was directly left from my window. My window was facing my back yard, and the craft glided between my home and my neighbors home which was to my left (so if my house was facing north, the craft was gliding south to north -- I never knew the exact direction my house was facing).

I remember thinking that something unusual was happening, and I felt as if something was coming. Then I heard a whorreling sound, and I pictured (in my mind) my father swinging a long thick metal chain, about 20 feet of chain swinging around and around, then I thought of a hellicopter. I then felt paralized, not out of fear, but something else -- but it wasn't alarming. I then realized that this sound couldn't possibly be made by my father or a hellicopter. It would have had to be so big, and spinning so fast that no one could make this sound with a chain. I was surprised that it didn't wake anyone else.

I was then scared, and wanted to stay very still because I knew that this was something that I have never experienced before. Then I was sweating and couldn't move or speak. The whorreling sound got louder and louder to the point where I was so scared that all I could do was wished dearly for the sound to stop.

Suddenly, the sound stopped to nothing, and I became curious. I was then able to get up and investigate what I had heard, but at the same time I knew that if I looked out my window that I would see what was there.

And I saw it, I only saw about 3/4 of it. It was a flat disk, like a freesbe, but had a definit point at it circumfrence an gradually raised to a top that was circular too, that center was about 1/4 of the craft. It was a very dark "shiny" pewter color. I remember circular lines like a music record from the rim to the center. It had lights around the outside of its rim. I remember thinking that it reminded my of Chirstmas tree lights. I can't tell you the colors to be exact, but all I can say is that I saw every color in dots around the circomfrence of the disk -- colors that I would see in Christmas lights. For example, I am sure I saw blue, green, red, and white, but I can't picture that in my mind. I can't picture those colors in my mind today, as I did the moment after it was gone.

It hovered, actually it hovered and glided with out a noise, it was perfectly silent as it slowly passed in between and under both of our roof lines, between our homes, and towards the front of our houses. I watched it in a noiseless controled motion hovering, but moving in a steady pace, pass between my home and our neighbor's home. I was at complete amazement, and awe until it past from my sight. I also remember thinking that this is something that was special and real to the point where I should say something about it.

Then I layed back down, as I was suppose to be sleeping. I remember thinking that I was looking at something that wasn't anything I'd ever seen, and thinking that I had just seen something that no one on earth could possibly have created.

I then jumped up again with a start because I realized that I could run to the front of the house to see this again. I hadn't seen the whole thing, and I was so curious. But, there was also a weird feeling that made me feel as though it was gone before I could have gotten there to see it. I still can't put that feeling in words, but it was just like when I knew something was coming and didn't get up to see what was coming and making that noise, but this time it was gone. I still kick myself for that today.

I told myself that I would never speak of this because, no one whould believe me, and it was too strange.

A few years latter, I realized that I knew how big this craft was, or how big it wasn't because it passed between our homes. My experience was small compaired to the things I've seen and heard, but my story has a size that I haven't seen, heard or read before, and I could share that.

I've been wanting to share this for some time now. I still can't explain it, and I am very curious. I am also curious because after that when our dog had puppies, we found that all the water that pooled up in our fenced back yard was toxic somehow, and the puppies drank that water died. I don't remember how the adults figured it out, but I remember thinking a few years later that it was because of what passed through our yard and between my neighbor's and our home that polluted that water, could be a coincidence -- I don't know.

Another strange thing is that I feel that somehow I brought them here with my thoughts. I can't recreate this, as I have tried out of curiosity. But, whatever it was, and however it came, is a mystery that is always there.

I've watched every show on this I could, and have read every book I can too. There is just too much garbage to weed through, and I don't have the patience to keep up with it anymore, and haven't for years.

I want to know what it was, and if that strange time in-between have anything to do with what we (my sister's) are going through now.

I'd appreciate your contacting me if you have any information that will clear this up, or as I'm sure you can't, maybe let me know that I am not alone in this.

I'm fairly certain this was in 1976. It is similar to the sighting in Thousand Oaks posted for 1/15/76. Simi is just a few miles from Thousand Oaks.

It was a warm evening, and I was out in the front yard with my parents. I was about 14. We were just sitting there talking and enjoying the evening. I was looking up at the sky and the stars and saw something in the sky to the west.

I'll describe it as a light, because that is what it would most closely resemble. It was more like a grayer area of the sky, but translucent enough to see the stars through it. The frightening thing is that it was shaped like the typical "devil face" outline complete with horns and a grimacing mouth. At first we thought it was being projected by one of those big searchlights they used to use for grand openings, etc., but there was no beam of light visible coming up from the ground.

My dad was working for Rockwell at the time, but not up at Rocketdyne. He was trying to figure out what was causing this quite obvious shape in the sky, and was getting pretty upset. My mom was just quiet and looked scared. We watched it for about 20 minutes, and it never changed or moved in any way. I don't know what size it was, but it was bigger than my hand as I held it up .

We watched it for awhile and then went inside. I was assuming there was some logical explanation, and we would read about it in the paper the next day, but as far as I know, nobody else saw or reported it.

Even stranger, about a month or so later, I was outside with some friends at about the same time, and was telling them about what I had seen, and described the shape. One of my friends pointed up and said "do you mean like that?"....and there it was again, in the same place. We all watched it for a few minutes, and it gradually faded and was no longer visible.

The only indication I have ever had that anyone else saw this was a drawing on the cover of a "Weekly Reader" type newspaper they used to hand out at school. The paper came out a year or so later, but had an article about UFO sightings, etc. inside. The cover drawing depicted a night sky with the exact same shape in it, and I believe whoever drew it must have seen the same thing as I did. It was accompanied by the caption "Are We Alone?" or something similar. I kept that copy for many years, but can no longer find it.

I believe the poster from Thousand Oaks saw the same thing or something similar. I asked my parents about it a few years ago, but they don't remember it at all. Strange.
