I'm a photographer and I was on the pier shooting images of sailboats and the kite festival. You can see the UAP in the photo.

As mentioned above, I was taking photos of the kite festival at Redondo and walked to the end of the pier to shoot an array of sailboats. I didn't see the object with my eyes as I was focused on the boats but when processing the photo I saw what appears to be something falling from the sky. It had to be fast to be captured by my camera at a speed of 1/500 of a second. You can easily see the descent and the object with a trail.

A pulsing and powerful orange light that emitted from an unknown object that slowed to a standstill in the sky before ascending west.

I saw something very unusual. Dare I say a UFO. What I feel is that it was not a plane. I was on my run just around Redondo Union High School in Redondo Beach, CA. What I saw was what I first mistook as a plane flying by in the lower troposphere, but what was unusual was the VERY BRIGHT ORANGE LIGHT it was emitting. Far brighter than any light a plane would be emitting. I saw it flying closer into vision only to see it decelerate in the night sky, almost to a standstill. After watching it linger and continue to emit bright orange in the sky as it seemed to approach from the eastern sky, I saw it once again accelerate… continuing to emit its bright orange luminosity. It flew away into the horizon into the Oceanside western sky. As it flew west, it seemed to ascend further into the stratosphere, and then mesosphere, until its bright orange light faded as I kept peering from my phone to the UFO . It’s all in the name, UFO, unidentified flying object. So, I can’t tell you what it was, because I honestly don’t know. I doubt it was a plane though. If this were a drone, it had a very powerful orange emitter to still be seen if it ascended towards the mesosphere.

Bright red light hovering in sky

There was a bright, glowing red light that at first glance appeared to be the red lights of an airplane (and looked light three lights in a triangle to the naked eye), but the light did not move. It’ stayed still, I took photos and videos. Zoomed in, it looks like a main bright light with a glowing ring around it, but I’m not sure if that’s from the auto-focusing of the camera.

This was not a planet, this light was bright, glowing, and close… but high enough and bright enough to know it was not a drone.

It was there for at least 12 minutes. I looked back over at my pillow for a few seconds to grab my phone again and when I looked back out the window it was just gone. I looked around everywhere again but didn’t see it.

Unidentifying object over the ocean in Redondo Beach California. Caught on photo

Me and my husband were driving back taking the beach route home. We took Pacific coast all the way down to Redondo Beach. It was raining earlier so it was really kind of gloomy and cloudy but for one moment we saw the sunshine through and the water looked beautiful and I decided to take a picture. When I look back at my photos it's when I noticed the object. I could not see it with the naked eye looking out over the ocean. But in my photo I see it because I zoomed in on a certain part of the ocean where the sun was shiny down on and noticed too lights shining down onto the water. The one light was the ray of sunlight coming through the clouds. The other light was coming from the object that I saw.

Erratic Lights around Sirius, Rigel, and Gemini.

I was sleeping when I woke up at about, 2:40am. When my attention was drawn to outside the window, I saw what looked like flashing lights (7-8) in the form of like a Google Image interpretation of a UFO, around Sirius. They were flashing like strobe lights on a aircraft. I saw three stars that were in the same area at the time, it was Sirius, Rigel, and Gemini. At first , I thought that Sirius was about to explode, as expected from the end of a star's life. But, then I saw the lights moving very erratically, like a fish swimming scared in the water, in circles. I thought it was just the one, but I saw the same thing on Rigel, and Gemini. Them moving like that lasted what felt like forever (est. 1min). I grabbed my camera, and coat and ran outside trying to take a photo. But, by the time I was outside and looked in the same area, the multiple lights disappeared, like they left Sirius, Rigel, and Gemini untouched from their spots in the sky.

Saw v formation 5 to 7 red blinking lights very high up heading south east over Palos Verdes.

I went out to my second story deck to view the Moon and Mars, and saw 5 to seven red blinking lights high up, in a perfect v formation, going south east over Palos Verdes. I could hear a jet noise very deep sounding and got a video of them on my i-phone...the jet noise is also heard on the video as a low roar...this occurred at 9:55 pm last night in clear skys.

Three bright orange orbs floated silently through the sky, before disappearing one by one.

Two bright orange lights that looked like orbs appeared over King Harbor. They made no sound. There was no wind.

They moved up into the clouds, north by northeast at a fairly fast rate. When the two orbs disappeared and third light was seen. it appeared to be bigger and brighter and was moving towards my home.

It stopped for a few seconds, hovering silently like the other two before proceeding to move up into the sky before finally disappearing into the clouds.

Odd trio of orange lights looking north toward LAX on evening of June 12, 2016

I'd just left my house to pick up a takeout order from a local restaurant. It was just before 9 PM local time. I looked up in the northern sky, which was dark. Normally I see air traffic on final approach to LAX, which is only a few miles north of my home. Traffic moves East to West on final approach for normal wind patterns, and hence traffic moves right to left as one looks North to the airport.

Tonight, I observed three bright lights, quite high in the northern sky. They were irregularly spaced, and quite bright, of roughly the same brightness, in roughly a horizontal line (not precisely), and all were orange in color. The color was strange to me, given the normal landing light (white) and navigation light (red and green) colors. Usually, with LAX traffic, one can distinguish individual lights on the planes coming in for final. These were single points as far as I could tell, and no flashing anti-collision lights. The trio must have spanned 10 or 15 degrees from my vantage point. Many times the size of a full moon in terms of angular separation between the leftmost and rightmost lights. The other thing that seemed odd is that they were moving slowly from left to right - in other words Eastward. That is very unusual for traffic at LAX.

I kept my eyes on them on and off as I drove Eastward myself on Artesia Blvd (and Slausson) to the restaurant. I pulled into the restaurant parking lot, and just as I was looking for a spot, I noticed that the lights were fading out. No change in flight path. Soon afterwards they disappeared entirely. It was unclear whether there was low cloud cover in the distance that was obscuring the view to the lights - the sky was dark so it was impossible to tell. But the lights never re-appeared.

I'm a student pilot and aerospace engineer, so have a background in aircraft spotting. These seemed very peculiar.

Possible UFO over Redondo Beach trench?

It was about 7 or 8 pm at night. I went out on my balcony which is on the 3rd floor and is about 2 miles east of Redondo Beach. I can see Palos Verdes Penninsula from my balcony. I opened the sliding glass door and went out.

I saw what appeared to be a large blimp like object. But, the object moved faster than a blimp and slower than a plane. It was multi colored and continuously blinking red blue and white lights.

There were lots of black clouds coming in off the ocean. So, before the object moved behind these clouds I quickly ran and got my camera. I snapped four pics. But the 2 here were the only ones that came out before it disappeared.

The 2 that came out I just blew it up so you can see the lights more clearly. The first set of lights were 2 red lights. The 2nd pic, I caught the red and blue as the blue light was blinking.

I reported this to MUFON who subsequently did a phone interview with me. They said it was unidentifiable. I'll let ! you be the judge. This isn't the 1st time I saw a UFO around my area.

3 Lights along Los Angeles Coastline

Hi, at approximately 8 pm my wife and I were looking west at the sunset over the ocean, standing on Redondo Beach, CA. We noticed after the sun went down, three distance bright orange oblong shapes in the sky.

This was very distant, miles away, over the mountain coast past Malibu, looking northwest. These blips slowly moved individually at approximately 45 degrees, as if they were moving away from us possibly and across the sky, but not in formation. One moved towards the earth and two slowly up and away.

We assumed because of the slightly orange sunset sky, that they were orange because of reflecting the sunset, so they could have been silver or reflective in some way. Nearer to us, Planes were taking off from Lax, moving east to west across the sky lifting off, and they were consistently silhouetted against the orange sky, without their lights on.

So to us, whatever was in the distance was very orange (reflective possibly). As they began to become less visible, assuming distance, one object suddenly appeared as a very brilliant light for about 3 to 5 seconds and disappeared.

Craft we're observed initially over the Pacific Ocean, in the south bay of Los Angeles at approximately 20:40 hour's, on March 10, 2013, for 7-10 minutes. 7 or 8 craft resembling balloon's on fire, moving north in loose trail formation, at approximately 300 knots. The craft we're observed thru "Fujinon" binocular's, and the observer is an experienced, and life-long identifier( amateur) of aircraft type's and configuration's, both military and civilian. One Craft in particular (the last one) was scrutinized closely, as it passed directly over head before heading North. "It was identical to the other's, and as I watched it through the binocular's the flame's sputtered and went out to reveal a silver or white disc/saucer, with four distinct bump's on it's underside. I watched it move North, and it was clearly visible with the naked eye, until it was out of sight." All Craft exhibited the same characteristic's: constant speed, identical visually, flame's seemed to sputter and go out, but not all at once, but lasted for the same duration. The weather at the time was very clear, 40-50 mile's visisbilty, and no cloud's. Craft we're at 2 mile's maximum from the coast, in loose trail formation, with about 1 mile seperation between craft. Craft appeared to be on fire, and when observed thru binocular's, it looked like lower 1/3 was on fire, and top 2/3 was billowy and white, like a balloon. "The color of the fire was dull orange, and when! I first saw it, I thought an airplane was on fire." All craft appeared to have very similar flight plan: they all appeared from the same location, they all went in the same direction, they seemed to be following each other. They we're first seen appearing from Palos Verdes , and heading North, right over/around the LAX flight corridor. Craft left no contrail's, or smoke.

Several colored orbs emitting orbs moving/changing into different symmetrical shapes while in flight

7:45-7:49 pm moving east from the west (from the ocean) in redondo beach/Torrance, 7-8 multi colored orb like objects (moving in formation) performing different symmetrical formations while all moving somewhat counter clockwise and at one point lining up directly inline like a perfect stick or pencil then moving to another symmetrical shape (a right angle square).

There was a lot of open space between each orb even though they moved together. Each orb was surrounded by 2 spinning orbs moving counter clockwise around the main orb which at a certain point only one surrounding orb would be visible then both would be visible at a certain apex of spin.

This was freaky, I live right in the air traffic zone of LAX and I saw this thing clear as day and close to the ground at roughly 200-500 feet and it was massive. It seemed to be trailing a plane that was flying at a much higher altitude, while other planes overhead and in the area (one roughly 10-15 miles behind it) diverted back towards LAX. I personally saw 3 large passenger jets turn back withing 5 minutes of this sighting.

Between 7:50 pm and 8:11 pm there was zero air traffic in one of the busiest international airports, airspace.

My husband and I were inside the house and heard a weird noise that sounded like it was coming from the garden. Looking out of the window we were immediately drawn to TWO red/orange circular lights in the sky...traveling what looked like north to south, appearing to be heading towards the ground. They seemed to be traveling together, not to or from the airport, LAX which is super close! They seemed to have their own groove, not like the airplanes, a slight back and forth movement whilst traveling, looking like heading towards the ocean? When we see the planes, they give a white light, not a red light! There was a haze...maybe because the ocean and full sky as a background? We absolutely could NOT identify them as being aircraft that we are used to seeing. Was a very strange sight in all. NEVER seen anything like that before! We came inside and went straight onto the computer to see if there were any reports of them..we know there's meteor activity out there ! right now...but we came across your site instead so decided to submit a report. I wish I had grabbed my iPad to record it, will be on the lookout and film again if we see again!

This object appeared to be flying low (3-4 hundred feet) and silent. It was triangular and approximately 10 meters in length (each axis), displaying equal distance lights on the bottom (three lights along each underside axis). The object banked slightly, changed direction from due East to South-East, and was moving quickly but not unusually fast. My wife and I are both professionals (she is a CPA, I am a Doctor of Psychology).

7 spherical orange lights/UFO's w/ rectangular aura sighted in night sky at Redondo Beach, Ca. 10-8-11 at 23:58

At 23:58 on Saturday 10-8-11, I was smoking a cigar by the pool in my apartment complex when the security guard on duty came running by shouting to follow him quickly. When we arrived at a clearing, we saw orange lights hovering in the sky, moving in very slow formation. By the time I was able to get my cell phone to record the event, we counted 7 objects in the sky. They seemed round and bright orange and seemed to dim out and disappear. Duration was about 2 minutes.

Two minutes later, at 00:00 10-9-11, we saw a single UFO moving toward us slowly. It was closer this time. The best description I can give is that it looked like a rectangular orange lantern floating in the sky even though we knew definitely that it wasn't a lantern. It was longer vertically and at the center was a brighter spherical light, perhaps the craft itself. The rectangular shape was more like a light surrounding the craft and not the craft itself. It soon dimmed out and with the naked eye we could still see, faintly, the spherical center moving across the sky. Almost like it turned the light off that gave it a rectangular aura. Then it disappeared.

At 00:05 10-9-11, another single UFO appeared and seemed to float across the sky before dimming out again. Again orange and like a rectangular lantern with a brighter spherical core. There was never any sound. There was no wind, the night was relatively clear with low cloud in certain parts.

When the singular craft moved toward us at 00:00, we could also make out a kind of reflection of white light behind it on the bottom of the cloud. Almost like if one would shine a headlight up toward the cloud. I have posted the videos I took from my Droid3 phone onto Youtube. The cell phone videos don't do justice to what we saw with our own eyes. But at least it was recorded! Here are the links for your review. Fleet of 11 color-flashing craft making formations in the night sky

On 7/04/2011 I saw a formation of 11 unknown color-flashing silver craft slowly moving in the sky and making formations over the city of Redondo Beach.

I was coming home from the Redondo Beach breakwater, after having watched the city seaside fireworks show with my father, and as we were walking back to our bicycles to go home I saw the crafts suspended in the air and moving in ways inconceivable for fireworks, planes or balloons. A crowd of others around me were stopping, gasping and pointing to them.

When I first noticed the crafts, it seemed that 10 were already there, and I had looked in time to see one float vertically in the air from a low altitude and then suddenly stop to join the others. They were silver-colored craft that flashed colors of green, red, blue and yellow, like flashing strobes. The crafts never made a single sound, and moved silently all around each other independently.

They had been up there for at least a minute after I started watching, because I was able to obtain pictures and a 00:00:45 video. After making their formations, each craft, one by one, faded away into the darkness and disappeared.

This is the single most dumbfounding event I have ever seen. I literally did not believe my own eyes, and I had trouble sleeping that night.

I can never forget what I've seen for the rest of my life.

Two amber/red balls flying east from Redondo Beach towards Los Angeles

It was approximately 10:45pm, I had just got home from dinner with a friend and had just decided to go out to my balcony to have a cigarette. I had just started calling a friend and was getting ready to light my cigarette and was leaving a voicemail for my friend when I looked up into the northwest sky and saw two reddish/orange almost amber in color orb's moving eastward. I live near the ocean, so they were traveling east towards the city.

They started to go behind some trees off of my balcony, I ran out to the pool area here at my apartment building and saw the 2 orbs still moving in the sky, but slower.

At that point I had thought about getting my video camera and ran back inside to get it, when I went back out to the pool area with my video camera I just saw one of the two orbs, it was stationary and then started to fade away. It took approx. 30-45 seconds for it to fade away.

Since I live near the ocean there was a light haze, the orbs seemed to move slower than a jet and seemed to be larger than what you would normally see as an airplane. The orbs did't flash, they just seemed to be amber/red in color with a very slight trail or aura (could have been the haze in the sky) they almost seemed like fireballs. If it had been just one, I would have thought it was a meteor or space junk entering, but there were two of them, traveling at about the same speed, one ahead of the other slightly.

When I made it out to the pool area with my video camera, one of the orbs was gone, but there was still one there and it had stopped moving and just stayed in one spot and then slowly faded away.

As far as my background, I grew up in the area, I am a small business owner and in my late 30's.

I was walking home from the local coffee shop on Camino De La Costa, a block from the beach. The time was around 6 pm and is approximate. The sun had just set and the sky above was still a deep blue and clear.

I looked up at the sky as I normally do to observe the stars, and just at that moment I saw what I thought was at first a meteorite was glowing red, left a faint trail, and was heading in a southeasterly direction.

As the light fizzled out, I then was awestruck when the fizzled out light reappeared as a bright white light much larger than any star, I’d say about three or four times the size of the planet Venus, and was clear and distinct. For a split second I thought I saw a green light, which would have been the right side of a craft. As the light turned full circle and coming toward me, it then banked and that is when it revealed three distinct and bright white lights in the form of a "V," or chevron, with the two lights of the "V" facing forward, and the point light trailing (again each light about three or four time the size of Venus.) No apparent sound was audible from where I was.

The craft made a complete circle and seemed to dive. It was traveling at a speed I would say was perhaps that of a fighter jet doing casual maneuvers, but was way to agile to be a passenger jet, in my opinion. The object appeared to be over the ocean and I guestimate, about three thousand feet up. In holding my hand out afterwards I would say the size of the shape of the three-light configuration was about as big as my pinky fingernail at arms length. The last maneuver was a diving maneuver on the second circle the craft made and then that was it. I was wearing glasses I use for driving which corrects my vision to 20-40. The whole even lasted about one minute, when the object fell below my field of view behind some apartments. I walked a ways down the street to a better vantage point to see if the object would reappear but it did not.

three lights that changed colors rapidly suspended over the ocean that increased and decreased in intensity often

Many times in the past few months my boyfriend and I have noticed brightly changing lights over the pacific ocean. At first I tried to reassure him that it could possibly be a planet or other bright star that could be mistaken easily for a ufo. However, on this particular night, while driving home from eating out late ( I’m a waitress and often leave work after midnight ), my boyfriend once again points out this blinking light over the ocean. After parking at home and standing on our balcony to get a better look, we see that it is three lights, varying in colors and changing often from red to blue to white. The lights are at equal level and seem to be suspended in one place just hanging there. It was clearly not a plane or helicopter, and this is obvious as planes and helicopters are continuously passing by it simultaneously. There is no comparison between the normal planes to this craft of lights. They were totally different. After about twenty mi! nutes the three lights that were once at equal level seemed to turn into a diagonal line and then slowly fade in brightness and visibility. It was undoubtedly an odd experience. I think of myself as skeptical on issues such as these without hard evidence, but this sighting has me confused and sending an email in the middle of the night……

Appeared dim in the moonlight, with smooth motion, then faded away in the moonlight after appearing only for about three seconds. Accompanying craft gave off a lighter hue (not orange), but lights of both craft were much dimmer than other aircraft in the area.

Bright ringed object seen tumbling soundlessly over Redondo Beach CA.

At about 7:00 PM local time I was travelling north on Esplanade avenue at Torrance blvd in Redondo Beach. I looked up to see a ringed object seemingly tumbling or darting in and out of cloud cover. I stopped at the corner of Esplanade and Topaz Street to look up and see the vehicle perform maneuvers for about 10 minutes. It appeared to be a solid object, with a ring of blue white light around the outside. Occasionally some small strobes were visible as it tumbled and moved back and forth laterally. It appeared to be somewhere over Esplanade and Pacific Coast Highway. There was no sound whatsoever and the object rotated and tumbled about for several minutes. It was observed by dozens of other witnesses. Eventually I left and the object was last seen descending toward the Hollywood Riviera area of Redondo Beach.

As I was walking into my condo on the coast, I saw a bouncing/hovering, slow-moving, star like object off the coast of Redondo Beach.

For approximately ten minutes off the coast of the Pacific, a strange bright orb was hovering in the night sky. At first I thought it was a star, then it started to bounce/hover closer to the coast. My next guess was that it was some sort of satellite? But what type of large, bright, satellite would be that close to LAX? It would be a danger to the planes coming and going. I am not sure what it was, all I know is what I saw. What I saw was not a star, not a plane/chopper, not a satellite, nor was it a flare, as I have seen flares in the past. After about ten minutes of observation, and the orb backtracking away from the coast, it disappeared. I remain confused and astounded.

Three white crafts in formation- very fast- 12-20k feet - West > East Redondo Beach Approx. 9:45PM- no sound or lights

Saw three white objects round in shape with some contours on their sides. The objects were traveling 12-20 thousand feet from west to east. On the deck of my condo the objects were only visible for less that 5 seconds; Long enough for me to point them out to my roommate. It was amazing to me that 3 objects moving so fast did not make one sound. There were so light or markings or flashes. the crafts were moving in formation but seemed to change ever so slightly in formation shape.

a UFO spotted late at night in Los Angeles area on 1/12/08

While stargazing - blocking ambient light with my arm and hand raised (blocking street light) Orion then very visible (Mars straight up above), this UFO just silently flew by.

Facing south it flew past at about 45 degrees up from the horizon from left to right across my gaze (from east to west). No sound what-so-ever (due to the apparent distance it resembled a firefly or some type of flying animal with a light emitting from it). But being out just under a mile it must have been large and very fast - faster than any jet or rocket.

It had but one light that I could describe--going by so quickly there was an apparent light trace (faded fast behind it) bright amber in color. A true UFO sighting by any standards - my first.

About a dozen red flashing lights passing quietly in the night.

Noticed about one-dozen red lights in a scattered formation. The formation was about one hands worth of area if you helf your hand up to the sky.

The red lights were a vibrant red, changing from a intense white/red to a red glow to no light.

The lights were not in sync and seemed to be inconsistant in their flashes.

The lights were moving towards the pacific ocean at a moderate to high speed.

There was no noise what so ever even though the lights passed directly over my head. The formation seemed to be very tight with no specific shape or leader.

I pointed the lights out to my friend who immidiatly saw the lights. She was a little frightend sice I had no explanation of what it is (being a aviation enthusiest myself).

I live in redondo beach off artesia and lawndale i went to cvs store on Hawthorne and Manhattan beach went i was coming back i stop at the stop sign which divides redondo beach blvd and artesia my eyes catch a gleam on the sky and when i look up i saw a round shape object i hate to repeat what other people say but it was a silver or metallic thing just standing there not moving it was reflecting light from the sun that's when i know that it was not a cloud and the reason that i now that it was not moving was that i could see clouds moving toward it i saw it until the clouds move in i would like to know if anybory else saw it please report to confirm what i saw as you would know you feel sily whent you tell others even my husband

Light not resembling star or aircraft hovers high above South Bay, California

At approximately 11:30pm the following events occurred.

After walking my dog on the beach, I stopped for a stretch. It was an extremely quiet night and we had seen maybe one other person walking the beach. An extremely odd girl shows up out of the blue and asks me if I saw the UFO. I said no and she proceeded to show me an object in the sky. Most would think a star, but this had no sparkle whatsoever and absolutely no flashing lights. Using my finger for a reference I could see the object was indeed in motion heading west at a decent speed. She told me to listen to 640 am, and I made my way home. I went back outside to look again when I saw this object with the same light consistency, but a much slower pace. It seemed to be in constant motion vertically, but slightly changed back and forth left to right. This is a series of blown up shots over 5 minutes, with the actual size on the left.

I never used to believe in UFO's but after seeing this and doing research on line, I am a beleiver. There have been way too many sightings for UFO's to be a phenominom, there are really aliens watching us and the government knows this but is trying to keep it a secret.

Four Circular Objects in Formation Sighted Over the Pacific Ocean Off Redondo Beach, Calif.

I live in a house on the beach in Redondo Beach, Calif. At approximately 4:45 a.m., PST, I woke and witnessed four circular objects hovering over the Pacific Ocean to the west of my location, most likely about 3-4 miles out to sea. I observed them for several minutes, expecting them to get closer if they were airplanes. I also looked for flashing lights, simliar to those on aircraft. I could see no movement, and no lights. The objects seemed to remain stationairy, and did not move closer to my location. They appeared in formation, one lighting up at a a time. When I first caught a glimpse of them, only three appeared. Then a fourth appeared to the far north. The objects switched places several times, then slowly, one by one, the lights began to fade out, starting with the light farthest north, ending with the light farthest south. Several times the light to the north faded, then reappeared. Given the speed of the movement in which the objects changed places, I suspect they are most likely aircraft of some kind, possibly helicopters. No noise could be heard, however, and the entire event lasted only 10 minutes or so.

---------------------------------------------------- I thought it might be worth while to give my take on the report. As stated, I had just scored (the winning shot I might add) and threw my head back, and hands up in victory, when I exclaimed "What the heck is that?" I saw 4 fairly dim "lights" if you will, bluish-green in color, tracking east to west at a pretty good clip. The speed, east to west was constant. Their speed relative to each other, varied. My first thought was they were those spotlights used for attracting attention to businesses around the area, except there were no clouds to reflect the light, nor were there any "beams" emanating from the ground. Lastly, spotlights travel in a set pattern, extending out from a focal point, then returning, these definitely came in from the east, and disappeared on the western horizon. Now, all the while, these four lights were not just moving east to west, but performed maneuvers similar to those of the previously mentioned spotlights. At one point, they all came together, sort of spun around each other, then separated back into a new formation. While almost directly overhead, two of them stayed stationary in the center, while the other two, (one on each side of the two stationary lights) made circles as they flew. A little hard to explain, but if you hold up two fingers on each hand, put the index fingers touching side by side, and start rotating the second fingers in opposite circles (one move clockwise, the other counterclockwise) you can get an idea of the formation as it passed overhead. Of course, the tips of your fingers will represent the lights themselves. Now remember, these varying "formations" are still moving at a constant speed east to west. They traveled somewhere between 3/4, and 1/2 of a persons field of view, meaning east horizon, to west horizon in just about 10-15 seconds. The speed seemed fast, yet they almost seemed to be moving in slow motion. They made no sound whatsoever, which was noted immediately, since they did not appear to be that high in the sky. I cannot guess at an altitu! de, because I don't know the actual size of the objects. If they were the size of a car, then I would guess somewhere between between 1000 to 1200 feet. (ONLY a guess) The two children who also witnessed this are my kids, and while they were enthralled by what they were seeing, once the objects moved out of view, became very scared and "clingy" for a lack of a better word. They were obviously shocked by what they had seen. Like my friend said, we live close to the airport (actually 2, LAX, and the smaller Torrance airport), so we know what planes are, and the normal tell-tale signs. (shape, lights, engine noise, flight behaviors, etc.) We had to play it off in order to calm the kids down. Later that evening, after getting them calmed, in bed, and convinced the aliens were not landing tonight, I went back over to my neighbors to discuss what we had witnessed. We both agree that we don't know what we saw, but we don't want to label it, especially without any other evidence besides our own accounts. A very surreal experience.

My neighbor and I were playing a game outside ,after scoring he thrust his arms up and said, "Yes!, what the heck is that?" He directed my attention towards four bluish green luminescent objects passing overhead and traveling from east to west. They were moving at a high rate of speed, and were maneuvering relative to one another. At one point they came close together, then moved apart to form a v shape. Four people, two adults and two children witnessed the event. Also, the objects made no sound as they passed over. It was clear with no clouds. I am 5 miles south of LAX and we have seen many planes fly over. We had never seen anything that could move east to west, and dart back and forth, north to south before. The objects disappeared into the horizon to the west over the Pacific ocean.

An intensely white-phosphorus colored streak heading down vertically from the overhead sky like a ballistic missile and disappearing in the SE direction

Incorporate by reference the Summary Description above The streak had a duration of 1-2 seconds, and occurred in the sky far distant from Redondo Beach. It was the track and intensity of the streak that gave me the impression of an incoming ballistic missile. I actually looked for a place to take cover should there be an explosion. However, to my relief, there was no follow-up sound or explosion. Shortly thereafter I arrived home to tune-in to the start of the Art Bell show. Mr Davenport was being interviewed about strange lights over Las Vegas within the "last hour" or less. I'd say that my sighting was approximately coincident with the time frame expressed by Mr. Davenport in his report. The time coincidence motivated my original e-mail report. I have checked my maps while writing this report. Las Vegas appears north east, and Phoenix slightly south of east of Redondo Beach. I am an aerospace engineer who has worked for more than 10 years on space programs, including support of space launch vehicles. I have a BSEE and 3 graduate degrees in Engineering, including an MS in Aeronautics & Astronautics.

I looked at the picture of Dec 19. The white trailing streak rang a bell.

I filed a report of an evening event (6/9/99 21:58 from Redondo Beach Cal.) seen from Redondo Beach on my way home to listen to the Art Bell show. It so happened that you were being interviewed about the same time about strange lights over Las Vegas. I went back to again read my report on
www.ufocenter.com and it describes "An intensely white-phosporous colored streak heading down vertically from the overhead sky.." The event appeared SE from my observation point while Las Vegas is generally NE. Thus the streak did not show vertical where the reported event occurred. OK.

First, for what it is worth, that white streak trailing that white ball in subject Dec. 19 photo reminds me of what I saw and reported upon that evening. It might be that what I saw was thicker and traveling vertically. However, the white trail is of Dec. 19 is what I meant by an "intensely white-phosphorus colored streak" seen against a background of a dark.

Secondly, another point now captures my detection. I consider it of second order but worthy of consideration. In the Dec. 19 photo, the white streak and ball is approaching a "target" horizontally after a vertical decline. In other words it does not descend vertically into its apparent target-the
volcano. But this too is consistent with the observation and proximate time report out of Las Vegas. I saw the vertical streak SE from Redondo Beach while the action you were reporting upon was over Las Vegas which is NE from Redondo Beach (see my account in the report of 6/9). So to me this suggests that vertical streak sightings and somewhat distant horizontally observed arial phenomena may still be causally connected.

One other unrelated point. In the past from time to time observers in your reports on the air refer to flying objects as being "motionless". Remember now, that an earth bound observer "observes" from a rotating reference frame (the earth). So if an object is witnessed as being motionless, it is to say
that v=dR/dt = 0 relative to an observer on a rotating reference frame. It is also to say, that the object has the same motion as the earth-bound observer, which is probably not zero in an absolute sense.

I saw a disk fly directly over me at an altitude of about 50 ft. and a speed of about 10-20 mph, travelling from west to east. It was about 10 ft. diameter, had a series of evenly spaced red lights around the perimeter, and made no sound. The object made no changes in speed or direction during the time that I could see it. I was around 9 at the time, and my memory of it is somewhat jumbled, but I am certain that this happened. It was a quiet night, and the sky was overcast. I thought at first that it was a helecopter, but it made no sound and was perfectly circular. I think I saw a circle on the bottom of it, but otherwise it was dark.

When i was 16 i ran away from home-tempe az, hitchiked to cal. Slept on beach quite a bit. Dont remember much from there but i have a recurring dream that an alien space craft had appeared out of no where and everyone on the beach scattered screaming. I am now 40.

At 19 i went to an infertility specialist they opened me up and discovered a fallopian tube and ovary missing. The other was deformed. When out of surgery the doctors questioned me about it. I had not had any previous surgeries of any kind yet my ovary and fallopian tube were surgically removed. They said they know it was surgically removed because if i had been born without them there would not have been a space where they once were. My body would not have made room for organs that were not there. On the inside there was evidence i was operated on but not on the outside-ANYWHERE. I was told i would never have children but amazingly enough 7 years later i did, who is now 15 and wins many awards for her scientific mind.(my family history is of artists no scientists any where) Oddly enough She has wanted to be a scientist since she was 3 and still does at 15 and is well on her way in school for gifted. I have seen 2 ufo's in my life both were in arizona, i saw one while i was driving east on gilbert road during broad daylight on a clear day, sun bouncing of shiny object in sky caught my attention. And i witnessed the phx lights with my daughter over south mountain. We lived in the foothills and were coming home from a movie driving west on ray road towards south mountain. I saw it and pointed it out to my daughter both of us "wowing" at them, then we get home its all over the news we were glad we werent the only ones to see them. This is something that i dont tell for fear of ridicule and dont want people poking at my kid like she is a freak
