Unknown object in the sky in Manteca, CA

My husband (33yrs) was driving the car and I (28 yrs)was in the passenger seat. We were driving towards San Francisco airport and we spotted the object in the sky while coming to a stop at the signal near Wendy’s in Manteca. We both saw the object clearly as the sky was clear and visibility was great. Object wasn’t moving fast but was moving intentionally in one linear direction in a tumbling fashion/ flipping on it axis. It didn’t seem like a plastic bag as it did not change direction with the breeze or wasn’t flopping in the wind. It went towards the mountains behind Wendy’s.

On Monday, June 22nd, 2020, I had just made a left turn from westbound Airport Boulevard onto southbound Lovelace Avenue in Manteca, California, after getting off of work.

I had just gotten off work as a professional commercial bus driver, and was just looking up appreciating the still setting sun in tonight, even though it was near 9 p.m., or 2100 hours.

There were no clouds in the sky, and the view  of the crystal clear bluish-maroon sky was amazing! As I yet traveled only one eighth of a mile down Southbound Lovelace Avenue, I was still observing the sky on occasion as I was driving down this road, when I noticed appearing from my right, which would be the westbound side of Lovelace Avenue, a brilliantly lit bluish white sphere moving gracefully through the clear early evening sky.

I say gracefully, because the first thing I noticed about this bluish sphere, was that it seemed to be "pulled" in the South, Southeast direction of the sky, as opposed to being propelled.

I characterized this type of movement through the sky, because over 30 years ago, I had considered being an aviator in the United States Marine Corps. I've read dozens of books about aircraft since its inception when the Wright brothers flew the Kitty Hawk, so I'm quite familiar with the characteristics of aircraft of different kinds that are publicly known. Also, I have taken a few flight lessons before, so I'm pretty familiar which additional lights on aircraft, and how aircraft wood handle and performance in the sky, since I have flown propeller-driven aircraft before like the Piper Archer II.

That the movement of this sphere was so graceful, I immediately started looking for typical navigational lights seen on a terrestrial aircraft that are required whenever flying in the evening into night time.

I did not observe any standard navigation lights, like the red light on the left/port wing tip of a man-made terrestrial crafts, nor a green light on the right/starboard wing tip, then a white light on the aircraft tail, nor any other required position lights on a plane.

As the bluish sphere traveled from my right to my left, I estimated it's altitude at approximately 800 to 1,000 ft. The illumination of the sphere reminded me of a clearly lit LED  light,  which never pulsated, and remained at the same light level the entire time I witnessed it. I could not discern any discernible shape within the light, and it was only one "craft" I observed.

The next thing that occurred to me was to see if I could hear any sound from this sphere. Since I was driving a 2015 Ford Fusion Hybrid, I decided to drop my speed so the car would run silently on its lithium ion battery rather than the gasoline engine. Then I rolled down the driver side window so I can potentially hear any sound that could have been made in the wake of this bluish sphere, but did not hear any sounds at all, save for the ground noise made by the tires of my car. And I did not hear any other sounds around me as I was traveling on this road by myself.

As I approached a stop sign at the dead end of Lovelace Avenue and Union Road and pulled to the side just before the stop sign, I continued observing the craft as much as possible until I lost view of it behind some trees and some other Man-made obstructions on the ground in the distance.

Again, what really captured my attention was how this craft seem to be "pulled", rather than "pushed" (propelled) in the direction, such as a plane would, as it moved along. A very fascinating observation!

My daughter, son in law and i were sitting outside facing east. We watched 2 orange onion shaped lights that were next to each other come up from behind a building across the street.

Next came 2 more showed up in the same formation. Than a solo one showed up, forming a triangle with the 2nd set of lights. The 1st set of lights quickly disappeared. The remaining 3 that formed the triangle slowly spread, the bottom right light disappeared. The bottom left light disappeared shortly later. The top light got brighter and then rapidly disappeared.

Red transparent orb comes down from ship

I've been watching the sky's since 12/16/17, when I first started noticing something in the sky that looked like a star but it had white and red lights twinkling. But when I realized there were others who looked somewhat identical. They've even come down and posed for photos on another night. 2 nights ago I put my tablet up in sky cuz I noticed they were up there posted just hovering when I saw one moving west, I aimed tablet at it trying to record it when this report like object came down to me again but I can't see it in plain site only through Tablet camera.

I was sleeping and I woke up because I heard a strange humming noise that was intermittent but repetitive. I have room darkening shades and light from outside cannot be seen, but a red or burnt orange light was so intense I could see the flashing from inside the room. It sounded like it was hovering nearby and then the lights and humming stopped.

Multi-colored orb seen every night.

A flashing multi colored orb has been appearing in the horizon by my home every night for the past 3 weeks. (the first week, the multi colored orb appeared once very saturday but for the past week to two weeks its been showing it self every night) It appears at exactly 21:00 every night now and moves slowly down closer then disappears after 30 min then appears again at 3:00 am.

I have also had a close encounter where I witnessed a triangular craft that came around over my neighbors home and closely on the side of my home..it craft had 2 or 3 red lights and white glowing lights all around it but it wasn't round when it came closer it was a triangular shape and it never made one sound. It came so close that I ran into the house to get my husband out of the restroom but by the time he had came outside the craft was further away and looked more like an airplane. I believe that the multicolored orb is communicating with other bright lights in the sky.

I'm not a professional but I have a very strong feeling that something out there is trying to communicate with me. I am very open minded and curious about whats out there but at the same time I get very nervous with what I will see if I continue to monitor I might not come back to share what I've experienced.

Seen 2 flying fireball objects gliding across backyard sky. There was no noise of any type of motor and they glided side by side. We watched for about 15-20 seconds.

As they got further the light disappeared, going towards Oakdale. We were in shock, trying to figure out what itvwsd. So we sat in backyard yelling to our neighbors.

About 10 minutes after, we see ano ther pair same exact and same color. We captured video on cell phone of the two smooth gliding objects. These two were also headed toward Oakdale.

What a sight to see. It's making us believers that UFO exist.

Purple-Pinkish colored light hovering, then slowly moves East, speeds up & makes hard turn North, stops, then moves East again...

At approx 7:50pm on 12/20/2014, I walked outside and noticed something that looked like a sort of amythest-colored, purple-pinkish light in the sky. It was completely odd and caught my attention right away. It actually looked like 2 lights side-by-side, horizontal to the ground, very close together or possibly even attached. Brighter than a star.. well, brighter than Sirius (which appears in the Eastern sky this time of year) I started watching it, completely perplexed by the color. My first thought was that it might be someone playing with a drone, but it wasn't like any drone I've ever seen (I've seen a few in my life.. my neighbor even has a large one). The light was steady and brilliant, not flashing. It didn't have the typical red/green, flashing lights that you would expect from an R/C toy or airplane. It wasn't a satellite either. I'm former military (Navy Electronic Warfare) and I can assure you that I've never seen anything in the sky with the same color light. In fact, the sky was totally overcast that night, but below the clouds it was very clear and there was good visibility. No stars were visible, nor could I see any of the usual air traffic heading into the Bay Area because of the cloud layer.

When I spotted the object, it looked like it was maybe 200-300 yards to the East at less than 500 ft in altitude... essentially over my neighborhood. At first it looked stationary, like it was hovering. Then it started to slowly move East (away from me). I noticed that I couldn't hear any 'drone' sounds.. nor any other sounds from planes, etc. As I watched, it seemed to speed up a little, the all of the sudden took a 90-degree left turn (at speed) and moved a short distance before abruptly stopping. I would estimate it moved maybe 200 yds in less than one second. I literally said “#@!*%$&!*” out loud to myself!! That's when I realized I had my phone in my left hand... duh!! I immediately launched the camera and started to record some video. It's not great video... the object looks really tiny, almost invisible on my Samsung s5, but you can certainly see it when playing back on a laptop, or something with a bigger screen. It looks like a white star moving away fr! om me and unfortunately, you can't see the purple-ish color, it just looks like a white dot. By the time I got the video going it had started to move Eastward again, slowly almost wavering a bit before moving behind the trees across the street from my house and out of my view.

Several minutes later I was still outside trying to play back the video and one of the typical airliners that I usually see flew overhead.. I couldn't actually see it because of the cloud cover, but I could definitely hear it. So, whatever I saw and recorded that night was flying below the clouds and not making any noise. It wasn't a plane or any other celestial object, not a drone, missile, meteor, etc.... I'm somewhat of a trained observer... I have a military background and also have a couple pilots in my immediate family.

Unfortunately, the video is only a few seconds long. At one point I tried to zoom, but it went out of view, then I un-zoomed and found it again. I'd be happy to share a link to my Google drive if your interested in seeing it. Otherwise, I don't really want to post it online anywhere.

Curious if anyone else has report something similar? The color was amazing hard to describe.. neon fuchsia, pinkish-purple... really really odd, but pretty.

Seen a object this one night and what made this more interesting is that we all saw something? we all sat in confusion because we all had questions like there was no sound, it was low maybe 100 yards up, It had no markers of any type and flew over at a fast rate of speed. Fast enough to ask the question, "Did you just see that "

I asked my friends if they could draw what they saw and i asked not to show them until everybody was done and the results were very exact, everyone drew a somewhat (diamond shape) that only concluded that we all saw something of the same shape now was it a Drone?,

Military or otherwise we couldn't tell you but we all did see Something!!

3 fuzzy round circular objects traveling south to north in Northern California.

3 fuzzy round circular objects evenly spaced (spaced east to west) traveling (constant speed) from south to north. Seen thru 11 x 80 L. Henzl & Associates binoculars, while trying to observe the Milky Way.

Tried to see anything between objects but couldn't. They reminded of the color and look of search lights used at grand openings, but much smaller in size. I doubt anyone looking up without binoculars would have seen them.

I continued looking for another ~30 minutes, but they never returned.

Floating ball of light making rapid movement in the sky with little faint lights moving around it. Happening right now.

I see what looks like a bright star in the sky but after watching I noticed it was moving very rapidly in every direction and little faint lights moving around it.

It's 1:15 am right now and its still there.at one point the light fell very fast towards the ground but then just stopped and went straight back up at high speed. And I can't see it on my phonrles camera.

A big, bright, white star appeared out of no where and started moving to the sky and made lops.

There wasn't many stars out last night; it was preety much clear. I opened my window and went to bed. Then I had a strange feeling and opened my eyes. Out of no where I saw this star, it was so beautiful. It was a big star, it was a bright white color, and it just appeared out of no where. I thought it was suspicious but didn't think much of it, I was even going to make a wish on it. Then I saw it moveing very slowly, it was going up to the sky. I thought it was just me seeing things but I did not stop looking at it. It started going up faster then when it was up higher it made three lops and I couldn't see it anymore.

I was sittimg on the couch watching TV and heard my wife say what is that, hurry come here. When I went to the back yard there was a triangular craft with lights at all three points and a fourth towards the back. It was heading south at a constant pace and was enormous. It was also at a very low altitude and made noise. It was right over our house,so I ran to get my camera but by that time it was blocked by houses. Then I saw it over some houses in the east far from where it was not 5 seconds before, so I ran out front to get a picture of it. I was able to but it was far away. About a half hour after this occured I saw what looked like a bright star fly in a straight line than dissaper in the sky.

I was getting on the 99 freeway headed north from Main St. and when I enetered the on ramp I seen a yellow light headed towards the head of my car moving real slow. I told my son to look and keep an eye on it so I could exit the freeway at Lathrop Rd. I exited the freeway while he kept an eye on it and we pulled over to the side of the road to watch this yellow light head south towards fresno and then it just disappeared. It had no sound to it and flew about ten feet from the hood of my car. I am totally amazed by this and tried to get a hold of the news but had no luck, so I went online and found a place to report it.

~10:35 PM, Central Valley California. 10/14/08 Looking North. Me and four other friends sighted an orange "ball" that flickered in and out for about five minutes. The ball moved in all directions, as well as stood still for long periods of time, before making a decent (what had to be less then a few hundred feet), and disappearing. NO other colored lights were seen on the object, and it stood out considerably as the brightest thing in the sky.

I was looking out my window while laying in bed and i seen something strange out of the corner of my eye. i got up to look and there was this thing..for lack of a better word.. flashing different bright colors in the sky. it really caught my interest. i stood there staring at it. i came to the conclusion it was a ufo.

just a huge mass of circular flashing lights blinking and as i watched, a million thoughts ran through my head. what was it doing? am i going to get abducted? does that stuff really happen? a car alarm went off and i heard sirens all while i watched this ..thing. it stayed in one spot for about 5 min then eventually when i looked down to text my friend to go look i look up and it was gone. i never saw anything like this before. it really amazed me.

A spiral of darkness spiraling in the sky blacking out the stars as it was unraveling.

Me and a friend having a bet on who can spot the first satelite. All of a sudden we see a black thing blacking out the stars unraveling like a Chinese dragon. It was like a a roll of black garage bags unraveling. It was not lit up but you could see this huge thing blacking out the stars. My friend also witnessed it. It was huge compared to an airplane. It was like a 1000 airplanes long

Odd, distinctively shaped craft seen at 21,000 feet east of Manteca by two commercial pilots

This sighting occurred while I was acting as Captain during a routine cargo flight in a BE-1900 from OAK (Oakland, CA) to BUR (Burbank, CA). We had leveled-off at FL210 and were cruising just south of Manteca VOR (a navigational aid near the city of Manteca, CA).

Traffic at this time of night is usually very light and quite easy to spot at ranges exceeding 50 miles. ATC (Oakland Center) routinely advises us of traffic in our area.

While on a mostly southern heading, I noticed a somewhat unusually colored light off to my nine-o-clock position (east of us). It appeared to be close to our altitude, but many miles distant (over the foothills of the Sierra mountain range). Normally, lights seen at that altitude and distance appear to be of a clear white color… usually the recognition or landing lights of another aircraft descending into the Bay Area for landing. This light was exceptionally bright and very yellow in color.

I pointed it out to my First Officer, in passing. He also remarked on how bright it was. I’d seen unusual lights like this one before – both out over the ocean and on descent into the Bay Area over Concord, CA. They’d always turned out to be oil refineries/rigs burning off gas. This light did not flicker as those had.

As we continued our flight to BUR, we’d occasionally look out to the left to watch the light – which, over time grew both larger and brighter.

After about five minutes of observing the light, it began to take a definite shape and seemed to be paralleling our course. The top portion of the light was semispherical, and the bottom portion formed a clear “V” shape coming to a point at the base. Over time, this “V” shape with a pointed-bottom became larger-and-larger.

Our curiosity piqued, I asked my F/O to call Oakland Center and ask if they had any traffic on their radar at our nine-o-clock, same altitude. They replied saying that the only traffic in our vicinity was an opposite direction King Air descending out of 13,000 feet (which both I and my F/O already had in sight). No traffic at our nine-o-clock was seen on radar.

We continued to watch this bright yellow light grow in size over the next ten minutes, until it filled about a four-inch square through the window on my side. It was impossible to accurately gauge our distance to the object, or its true size, since we didn’t have any other visible references against with to judge it.

Anecdotally, all I can say is that it was both LARGE and of a VERY unusual shape and color. Other aircraft lights (while flying at night) uniformly appear to be circular points of light, and are all in standard colors (red, green, white or white strobe). The light we saw did NOT appear to be a light ON an aircraft – the light appeared to be the entire outline of some sort of aircraft.

As I said before, the light appeared to be paralleling our course and coming closer (i.e., remaining in the same relative position even though we were moving south at around 300 knots over the ground, yet getting larger). Please take that observation with a grain of salt though. Without being close enough to see details on the craft or compare it against a ground reference – it could just as easily be something very large seen at a great distance. Things observed at a large distance do not appear to have any relative motion.

We continued to watch the light until it appeared to take a northern course away from us at great speed (both decreasing in brightness and size, without changing altitude).

Both my F/O and I have 5,000+ hours of experience – most of which was gained under similar circumstances (at night, over California routes)… and we were both flabbergasted by what we saw. We both admitted it made the hair on our neck stand up. To be honest, I was spooked by the experience, but have chosen to not bring it up with our airline or the FAA out of concern for being judged a nut-job.

I’m not saying the things we saw were of extraterrestrial origin – but I am saying we saw something that (in both of our professional opinions) was nothing like any other aircraft we’ve ever experienced in our careers.

Chirstmas eve 2006 sighting in Manteca California 3:35am.

Very foggy night, We viewed the craft with bonoculuers. One craft was seen spining disk shape about six to eight thousand miles up and about five mile from our home. Viewed the object from the open bathroom window, blinking red and blue lights some green light, more blinking red with a brighter white light.

The object hovered in one place for about 15 minutes and then moved very slowly downward about 1,000 feet and then slowly moved westward about 5 miles.

After about another 15 minutes the object lights went on and off. Then the craft turned into a round Mars shape teal light blue object round with a oval shape, resembling a metalic texture. The craft moved at a faster speed moving to the west and then blinked out.

As the fog got thicker the craft went farther or the lights just went out completley.

Witnesses were ((father)) years old, ((mother)) years, ((son)) years.

You could not see any stars or moon because of the very thick fog, just the object, which seemed to be very large in size and the object seem to stay staionary for most of the time.

The object seem to be waiting or looking at something.

light ran across sky and left what resembled the trail from a space shuttle/plane. It also resembled a meteorite with the white dust/smoke coming out from the back. during middle of duration, a blue gas was visible after the object disapeared.

object was flying from north to south.at arms length a silverdollar would have been the size.no noise,very low.2 large lights on bottom.solid object,til lights detached,one flew NE one NW.

It was 10:30pm sat.(last-nite).I was laying on the divingboard, looking up at the sky.the sky seemed extra clear except, one large mass of low white cloud directly above me.It was long semi-wide and streched N to S.I was watching the cloud shape shift and change forms due to the wind.Then directly above me and a little to my right(north).I don't know if it caught my eye or just appeard.Below the already low clouds this large triangler object flying from N to S was at arms length, I approximate the size of a silver-dollar.The corners were all rounded.I was lookinging at the underneath part of the object.There was 2 very large circle lights.They did not glow like a light,the only way I can explain it is like the nite-lights you put in your house,the ones with the plastic white covers,how they look with light shining through them.That the closest I can explain how these lights glowed.The object itself was brown.It was below the white clouds so that allowed me to get a good clear look at it.There were no other lights whats so ever on the object.I stood up and started screaming my fiance's name,yelling look at this what is this!It continued to fly towards the south,about the speed of a jet,then as it got a ways to the left of me(south).I still had a good view due to the size,,it seems the end of the cloud may have hung lower than the rest of it, but was thinning out density wise. The object went into that part of the cloud I could still see it then the 2 lights that did seem to be a solid part of the object both at the same time in sync.widended out one to the left one to the right,moveded in little cirles in sync.the object was no longer visible,one light went back to the NE and one went back to the NW.Both moved in those directions what looked to be about 3inches in the skying,judging between my fingers and just went out or dissappeared.The rest of the object never came out of the clouds.IT made no noise,plane fly over all the time that low and you always hear them,helecopters that lw rattle the windows.Thi! s is close to the airport.I have had a very hard time even explaining yhis,and I did the best I could in words.Can you please let me know if anyone else reports this?

how interesting this triangle. about 10 - 11 years ago, it seemed to have been a dream yet my rememberance is like yesterday. after building a model which includes magnets in series,plastics, and a weird theory of propulsion .i still can't forget the sight of this vechicle.as far as triangular shape,a definitive 6 side pattern was relative throughout .the model i made is base upon what i experienced.and it creates warmth through the center drive hole . there are no batteries involved,yet, each person i conduct a physical test with can feel the heat/warmth on their skin.each person has also told me where the object is in proportion of their body.(eyes closed and witnesses watching). i showed my folks the day after the "dream". my dad is a retired electrical engineer for the last 50 years.not any engineer.but one that works on military ships and submarines.after showing him my drawings and schematics of the vechicle and propulsion system on the day after my "dream". to this day he still tells me to be careful of whom i talk about this to. just recently i showed him the warmth i found while playing around with some different shaped magnets. he was really surprised.

i know i sound like i'm rambling, but hey, my buddies have heard, saw, felt this for years now, so why not talk about it more openly.like the internet.

in my personal opinion, the triangular shape is amazing important. mathmatics, locationally proportionate dimension, and in theory we must always triangulate in order to come to a soultion. thanks for your time inert particles in exact solution introduced into a field of positive or negative ions create ignition

blue belly: ship with blue light outlineing the bottom of saucer, white ball of light on each end. top: one white ball of light on top

blue belly:i have seen a ship, it had a blue curved line;a lighted line (the color of blue chalk on a chalk board) on the bottom of what appeared to be a disk shaped vehicle. on the front and back end, it had a small ball of white light, and on the top was a slightly bigger ball of white light. there was no noise at all. one night around 1978-1980, i was sitting on my porch with my 2 yr old nephew, and my small terrier dog was on my lap. i was around 12yrs old. my dog became incredibly nervous, so i put her in the house. (my memory of the date is terrible, but remembering the incident is extremely vivid) approximately 5 min. later, after the dog was put in, i saw the "blue belly" enter the sky to my left, it seemed as if it had slowed down for a minute. it moved around 8-10 miles (from Tracy to French Camp) at a speed of (estimate:10,000 mph) for almost 1-2 seconds, then took off(probably way over 15,000 mph)towards tahoe for a visable 1 second.then it seemed to cut into the sky and disapeared. it left a bluish vapor trail.(i must say, the haunting image i can never forget was:like seeing god; it was so beautiful, sacred,and graceful; and there's nothing like seeing advanced technology in action:it's awsome!
