Giant Flying fire ball that disappeared

As we looked in the sky we saw a huge fire ball that appeared be half a size of the moon, the object was moving so fast that we couldn't tell if was going towards us or away, the object than zypped off and disappeared.

As a person who lives in the mountains I have never seen anything like that in my life.

Triangular object with intense red strobes near Yosemite; Mono Lake

Approximately an hour after sunset, wife & I were unloading car at Yosemite campground in a valley with East- West orientation. Conditions were clear and cloudless, sky still midnite blue, not yet black, and not yet full of stars. We paused in our labors to admire the high jet contrails in the eastern sky, which still glowed a bit, catching the last of the light.

Facing East, the object appeared from the South, first one, then two, and finally three tiny but intensely bright red lights, so bright and pure red, they made me think of a laser's intensity. These were NOT beams, but strobing point sources of a light wavelength so narrow it made me think of a red Helium- Neon or diode laser. These were unlike any civilian or military running lights either of us had ever seen; nothing to indicate port, starboard, or leading edge. They were arranged in a rough equilateral triangle, one corner either canted toward or away from us. As we quickly ran through the possibilities, we told each other to remember as much detail as possible; this was something unique! As the object soundlessly moved in a straight line from south to north, we each noted its appearance as it drifted over the contrails. My wife's impression was of a vague solid triangular object with red strobes at each corner floating ABOVE the contrails, which would make it enormous. My own impression was of a skeletal triangular structure with the same red lights at each corner, passing in front of them contrails, which would still render the object rather gigantic. There was a rather large gap between each light, notable because all planes must maintain high altitude over the Sierras, and thus their running lights appear close together.

An unexplained object square in shape, floating and tumbling silently in the sky until ascending out of sight.

I am currently a product-marketing manager. I have served in the US. Coast Guard.

My elevation is 3500 feet above sea level in the Sierra Nevada. I was sitting on my deck facing west, when I noticed an unidentifiable object coming in my direction from the northwest. 10:00 position from the north. It seemed large in comparison to the houses on the ridge so that ruled out balloons. When I first saw it the approximate size was ¼ size of the moon and appeared to be tumbling, floating slowly and ascending as it came my direction (south east). It was white in color, and had a primary form of what appeared to be square, but that was not the complete form. It was unexplainable. As it tumbled and floated closer, the shape would change and was getting smaller as it approached. It was very silent, and did not disrupt dogs in the neighborhood.

I watched for at least 5 minutes trying to figure out what it was, because the shape was so odd. I then went into the house to get my iphone. When I came back outside it was still coming in my direction but much smaller and higher. The sun was very bright, which made it impossible to see if I was positioned on the object when I snapped the pictures. It stopped moving south easterly as it was slightly over my house and sat in one position for 15 minutes. I called the National Reporting Agency, and while on the telephone with them, it then began to ascend higher until it disappeared.

Pictures attached taken with iphone (had already began to ascend and was ¼ the size that it was when it was a over 1-2 miles away and lower) 1056 below the jet slightly to the left (without zoom on the telephone) 1057- 1059 with zoom 1060-1061 – object sat stationary in this position for 5 minutes but still ascending before moving slightly to the south. Use tree for perspective. Object is center left. My neighbor stepped on his deck and I pointed the object out to him.

1062, 1064. 1070 – iphone is set on full zoom .

1072-1073 – Zoom is off. Object remained in this position for 10 minutes before ascending up and out of site. (zoom in to left of vent on the roof to see the object)

White flash appears in Geosynchronous orbit lasting for 1.5 seconds.

On the early evening of 10/14 my wife and I saw what can only be described as a flash. Sky gazing in the high desert of Strawberry AZ near Fossil creek just after sunset I saw a flash of light. In a dark area between stars the flash occurred lasting about 1-2 seconds. It reached a brightness dimmer than ISS but brighter than many stars. It went from 0 brightness to full brightness and back to 0 at equal speed, I'd say 1.5 sec total. I did not move at all. I am an amateur astronomer and I know the stars and satellites, this was nothing I'd seen before. If it is a man made satellite then it's a geosynchronous one but why would it flash? If it were tumbling like an iridium flare it would pulse at an even rate not flash once. This flashed once and then again about 10 min later in I believe a different area but close. My wife saw it the second time, I did not. This exact same report came to me from a friend of mine when we were home in Phoenix, he had been on a h! ike in the mtn preserve and when he came home he reported the event, just like what I had seen. I figure it has to be a satellite but doing what? Rotating a camera, antenna, solar panel??? it's strange. I'd be curious to know if anybody else has reported this type of observation. The color was white-ish blue very star like.

Slow moving single bright light over Northern Arizona

At about 20:30 Pacific Daylight time, July 08, 2009, I was outside getting tools from my truck bed. As I reached up to close the camper shell's back window, I noticed a bright light almost directly overhead. I also noticed it was moving slowly to the Northeast. It was brighter than Arcturus, which is also about overhead at this time, and brighter than the usual aircraft which fly overhead, so I listened for the sound of a jet, which usually accompanies 'normal' aircraft that fly overhead. Although many are high altitude flights, the sound still should have been audible by that point. There was no sound, and the single point of light was not blinking, so I thought that perhaps it was something other than a commercial or military flight, perhaps a very reflective satellite - although I'd never seen one this bright - and started counting about 5 seconds after it passed the zenith. I continued counting and moving across the street as it went behind pine trees to observe it until it disappeared over the mountains to the Northeast, at an altitude of about 15 - 20 degrees above true horizon. The heading (ref'd to true north) was estimated at about 40 degrees. The speed seemed very steady throughout the sighting. Altogether the sighting lasted for a count of 127 seconds, from just past zenith to disappearance over the horizon. It took about 10 seconds to gather my tools, go inside and check the time on an 'atomic clock', which showed 20:33:45. There was no sound from the object at all, the apparent brightness was approximately between that of Jupiter and Venus in the early morning sky and did not fluctuate much, if at all. There was no discernable blinking light, just a steady white color. It did not change noticeably in brightness from overhead to disappearance, as a commercial or military flight usually does - i.e. when the forward lights are blocked by the rest of the jet or plane. The sky was clear of clouds, and although the sunset is 'officially' at 19:40 at this latitude, the mountains su! rroundin g the valley give us a sunset at about 19:15 and dusk lasts about an hour . A few of the brighter stars were just visible. Moonrise was a few minutes ago at about 21:20 (from my position).

Black Traingler UFO floating in mountain sky, later very odd flickering like morris code close by.

While on a hunting trip, I was hiking along a ridge, I stoped for a break, while I sat on rock, at aprox 6000 feet elevation, I looked strait acrossed a very big canyon, there was somthing very shiny setting on a cliffs edge, as I was looking at this, somthing appeard in the sky aprox. 1000 yards or so to the left of this shiny object, it at first looked like a black crow gliding in the sky going away from me, as I looked longer at this,only a minute or so, it seemed to be to large and to far away from me to be a bird, so out of curiosity I brought up my binoculars to take a closer look, at this point, I got a clear but only quick look, maybe 30 seconds, it appeared to be a triangler shape, a matt black in color, my first thought is that this is not a bird, as it tilted slightly to the left showing its belly side, there appeared to be a glass cock pit on the under side, toward the front, the glass to the cock pit looked very differnt almost undescribeable, there was no noise to be heard, no motors to be seen, but with a quick turn to the right it disapeared over the top of the far mountain, sitting there stunned and confused with what I just seen, and now looking across the entire distant mountain tops hopeing to maybe see it again, about 20 minutes had gone by, the shiny object was still on the cliffs edge, I noticed aprox. 1000 yards or so to the right of it on what appeard to be a flat area carved out of the cliffs edge some flickering almost like morris code, I had been looking at the shinny oject at this time in total about 40 minutes, and had not noticed any flickering before, it seemed to appear out of no where, the flickering looked like a very small mirror efect with the sun shinning on and off it, curious again, I brought up my binoculers for a closer look, the flickering was first only at one point, then aprox. 25 to 35 feet to the right more flickering, just shortly after that aprox. I am guessing 10 to 15 feet behind or above or both, there was more flickering which appeard! to be a bove the ground and not against the cliffs edge, kinda like the flickering was an outline of some sort, in fact I could not figure out how this could be possible, no spot flickered at the same time, and none the same, it very much reminded me of morris code of some sort with mirrors, but the suspended flickering was just unexplainable, no lights or noise of any kind, no pictures taken, anyway aprox. 1 hour has passed no other siting made, the flickering remained, and I got up and left.

Landed Object viewed with High Power Scope at Length

At approximateley 6 in the evening, my Father in Law, my then Brother in Law and myself were returning from hunting in the Fossil Creek Canyon located Westerly about 3 miles from the Township of Strawberry Arizona. Said Canyon has an elevation differential of about 5500 feet with steep grades and sheer vertical cliffs.

Thru Fossil Creek Canyon exists the Child Electrical Power generating camp consisting of maybe 10 structures.

On the return trip to Strawberry, we passed said power station and ascended upon dirt roads that winded on the southerly edge of the Canyon. I would estimate that about half way up this Canyon we noticed that on the northerly edge of the Canyon that an oscillating light that changed colors emanated from a portion of the Canyon that is unaccessible to vehicles.

The light was visible to the naked eye, but nothing more. We stopped the vehicle and I would estimate that at a 1-2 mile range I scoped the light with high power scope on my rifle and was able to see much more detail. When viewing this light with my scope I was able to make out a disk shaped saucer with "windows" and a "door" with "steps". Said object had two "legs" that emanated from either side of the object. A portion of the object was obstructed by shrubs. These shrubs moved, although there was no wind from the position in which I observer said object. From our position and vantage point we were able to at lenghty time and measure observe the object.

Strawberry, Arizona is located about 19 miles north of Payson and about 60 miles west of Heber, Overgaard. The commonality between these three location is the Mogollon Rim, Fossil Creek Canyon is at the root of the rim that has elevation of about 9000 feet in places. The other interesting items that surround this area is the fact that the famous movie "Fire in the Sky" was based upon an incident about 45 miles West of this sighting. I had at the time told some people in the Town of Payson about this occurence and was surprised by some of the responses I received.

Once response was that of one of the Electrical workers at the Child Plant that confided in my Father in law that this was a regular occurence and that has had his vehicle and watch stop due to "craft" flying overhead in this same Canyon.

Another response that surprised me was that of a Town of Payson employee that also confided in me that in his youth he worked on a Logging crew and coincidently happened to work that night of the dissapearence of person in the "Fire in the Sky" movie. He told me that that night the Forest had a green aura and a hum that filled the air. He also stated that he had heard other stories similar to mine from that area where I had seen this object.

My backround is that of a Civil Engineer and Surveyor with approximately 14 years of experience. I served 6 years with the United States Air Force as a Civil Engineering Specialist and have been deyployed worldwide in said capacity. I currently work as a Survey analyst and Geomatician at a private Civil Engineering Company. My Father in Law has been a successful Construction Contractor for at least the last 30 years and is still building.

I have no clue to the whereabouts of my then brother in law and his backround was in maintenance.

single,round white light object approached&tailgated airliner@nite, made U turn, then L turn & crossed in front of me,call FAA.

I'm 47 years old and have an MA in Interdisiplinary Studies at Cal State University. I'm a 6 year U.S. Air Force Law Enforcement vet (1974-1980) and have been an Archaeologist and Techinician in CA and NV since 1991.

While camping at Don Pedro Reservoir, at the mouth of the Toulumne River, on Wards Ferry Road I witnessed the following: The day was Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003 at approximately 2300 hrs., the sky was clear.

Curious if any info. on a "single, round, white light object" that quickly approached and "tail-gated" an airliner heading west toward San Francisco (?). The "object" (about 1/4 size or smaller than the airliner) followed the plane for a few seconds then made a very abrubt 180 degree U-turn to the left and headed east (up the Toulumne River Canyon). I flashed my headlights at it a couple of times as it headed back in my direction (this area is fairly remote). The "object" suddenly made an abrubt left turn (north) in front of me and disappeared over the mountain from my view. It appeared to maintain the same altitude throught the flight and only slowed when it approached the plane and when I flashed my headlights at it. I felt very concerned for the passengers on the flight and eventually made this report to the FAA at Rancho Murieta and Sacramento approximately one week after the sighting. I got a negative response from both.

Disk shape on Ground and viewed at length with Scope from a Deer rifle.

I have practiced Civil Engineering for at least 14 years and my Father in law has been a general Contractor for 35 years and the third witness whereabouts is unknown.

Vehicle or craft was on the ground at about 1 mile away. It was disk shaped and on the ground. It had lights on top and a doorway that was opened to the ground. Various windows and movement on the surrounding shrubbery and grass. Said craft was landed on an inaccessible portion of a mountainside and viewed at length thru a high power scope for a deer rifle. Elevation of sighting is about 5500-6500 feet in elevation.

Several other local sightings of this type have been accounted for from local residents near the Child's power plant. Strawberry is approximately 70 miles West of Heber, place that "Fire in the Sky" was based upon.

This Canyon is said to routinely have low flying craft of unknown origin causing motor stops, watch stops and burn marks on ground.

Disk shaped, red lights circling the outside, flying on the treeline in the high country in the Sierra Nevada

This is only one of many experiences I have had. I wrote down as much as I could remember back in 1986 and saved it. It was suggested by a local man who had been studying UFO phenomenon since the age of 13 that I write it down. This is only one entry I wrote in a Journal over a two month period.

August 2, 1986 I went camping overnight at Clarks Fork. It was at dusk when I noticed a small bright light directly above me, the sky had no stars out yet and this light was close and glowing. It is my 21st birthday and my boyfriend and I are going to go to Kennedy Meadows for a drink.

It is dark now approximately 9:30, we are driving toward the main hwy to go to Kennedys. We both see a very large bright glowing light up to my right of the car, just above the treeline. It is moving along as we do then over the mountain and it waits. It moves ahead the waits, then moves ahead then waits.

By now I am telling my boyfriend I do not want to go anywhere. I want to watch them.I can feel that they are here.

We are approaching the bridge at Clarks Fork I asked my boyfriend to park facing the object because it is in front of the car, low in the sky its very large and glowing. We watched it for what seemed forever. It is hovering there, moving to to the right then back in front of us. It is much larger than the one I have seen at home maybe because it is closer, like the night on the way back from Tahoe, really big and close.I asked them in my mind to come closer so I can see them then it comes closer then stops. I feel they do not think it is time. I don't know how I feel that, I just do.

My boyfriend actually agrees it is really a UFO, he sees the way it is moving. Now he believes me. While we have been watching, he noticed a yellow one to our left side, not moving,glowing big just like the white one to our left side. Then the yellow one moves slowly away back toward the mountain as we decide to go back to the campground.

They are both followed us. The yellow one stays more in back and the white one moves more in front. I am looking up and around to spot them. They are here, I am comfortable with that. As we went to sleep in our sleeping bags in the back of the truck, I am watching the white one up through the trees toward the Dardnells. The yellow one is behind us but still in sight.

All of a sudden a disk shaped craft with red lights all the way around moved past the white one circling, its spinning as it hovers horizontally across the tree tops; moved past the white one circling in the air. It has landed I believe, but it came from nowhere and went very low. God, there is no noise. Oh my god I can't believe it. It is round. I looked for it but it was gone I believe there are several crafts here, I feel the presence. I am to tired to stay awake. I hope they come see me tonight.

I had a cup of water in a white styro foam cup and set it on the edge of the truck bed toward the cab and asked them in my mind to take it so I'd know they were there. It was gone in the morning, nowhere in camp to be found anywhere. I never did have that drink and no alcohol this night.

I attended a MUFON meeting here in the area many years ago. One man wanted to put me under hypnosis, but I had lost time and been visited in my bedroom and felt scared, part of me still is afraid.

I do know that they meant me no harm because they kept me from panic, they stopped that physiologically in my body, but they used their minds to do it. Now I am ready to find out what happened all of those times. I have had sightings since the age of 8 or so and then visits.

In the winter... I just purchased a used Tahiti tri-hull and drove from my hometown in Oakdale Ca to Lake Don Pedro with friends.. virtually no one else on the Lake,,,.we ran out of gas (the gauge was not functioning and stuck on full)....two of us stayed with the boat and myself and a friend started walking around the lake back to Flemming Meadows....we stopped to rest and 2 very large rectangular objects equal distant apart went flying above the water,,,across the area of the dam..,behind an Island and disappeared...definitely not a boat or aircraft,,,very very fast!,,no sound,,,and stayed and equal distance apart...I describe them as the size of boxcars,,,,,I had never seen what I would consider to be a UFO prior nor since,,,
