Looked like a shooting star but bigger and brighter

I was standing in my backyard. I looked up at the sky and saw a bright light appear and quickly moved right to left at about a 20 degree angle. It appeared like a meteor, but the movement was much faster than a typical meteor and much more visible. Usually, there is too much light pollution in my area to see any meteor showers. This light was not only very visible, but also visibly larger than what you can see of Jupiter, for example. It was reddish orange in color. Only one instance was seen. My reaction to seeing the event was recorded by my security camera.

Looks like a shooting star moving erratically all over the night sky. It's bright, then fades, hovers, then circles.

In the north/east sky, what looks like a shooting star - is moving erratically. It shoots up, down, north, back east again, then in circles. Then shoots south, then north, grows bright (almost brilliant), then fades. Returns, goes in large circles, then drops at a high rate of speed, only to shoot right back up again. Hovers, disappears, then returns to perform more maneuvers. Can't figure out for the life of me what that would be. Could be seing several, or the same one criss crossing the night sky. This is the second time this month we have seen the light. My son-in-law saw same thing two weeks ago, told us and we laughed. He called us outside tonight and pointed up and low and behold, he was right. Zig-zagging all over the place. No color, just a white light that looks like a star when stationary or hovering. Then is begins shooting all over the place. Weird! My IPhone camera just couldn't capture a picture or video, too much ambient light ar! ound.

bright orange ball of light drifts noislessly and slowly over my neighborhood, then fades into clouds.

I was watching the eclipse of the moon on the winter solstice with my mom and neighbors. After a long while everyone had gone inside and I was left alone for a moment and noticed a glowing orange ball of light low in the sky around 100 yards or so away slowly drifting diagonaly across my neighborhood. My first thought was that it was a blimp or helicopter, but it made no noise, had no blinking lights and was only about 200 feet up. My mom came out and I could only point. She ran and knocked on the neighbors door and I could still only point and say "look". For the next 5 to 8 minutes we watched it drift over the neighborhood then straight up, hover for awhile, flash a couple times, then away into the clouds. we all took turns looking at it with my binoculars and we're all stumped as to what it was

Shooting Star turns into Bright red light. July22,1999. Pittsburg, California

There was about 10 people that night celebrating a birthday outside. Some people were drinking but others were'nt. I remember someone saying " Hey look, a shooting star ! " So everyone looked directly upwards and identified what we thought was a shooting star. It moved and looked like a shooting star. I mean, it was as far , far up in the sky and seemed like it was a star itself.

So everyone just went about there business afterwards. But about 3 minutes later someone noticed that the star was still shooting. I told everyone that it might just be a satalite or something. But boy was I wrong. It moved at the same speed as when we noticed earlier. But all of a sudden the "star' had moved from right above us to directly in front of us and it still looked like it was far away, like a star. I mean It looked and blended in like a star that we actually thaught it was one.

This is were it gets really weired. The"star' all of a sudden stops. I mean like a dead stop. It did not slow done at all. And then it grew in size and changed in color. It went from a small star to a big round light. Then, the color changed from white,orange and finally bright red. I mean that thing turned into a blinking stop light.

We could not believe what we were watching. Some how, this tiny shooting star had turned into a big,bright blinkin light. We watched this for about 10 minutes, then it started moving real fast. Within a blink of an eye it would shift directions. Up, down,left,right. A friend and I eventually followed it out to the street. Then all of a suddned, it vanished. Just like that. Poof.

To this day, i have not been able to find more witnesses,besides those who were there that night,toconfirm what we saw.
