Flashing light

For the whole duration I saw it it moved from west to east about 4 inches in the sky flashed brightly a blue color at me several times was mostly floating and stationary. Flashed in and out and a couple times brightly in my direction after asking it to flash. Moved east and behind a tree but could still see it hovering.

I looked up and coming from the north was 5 red lights in a vertical straight l line with 5 white small lights circling around main red

The lights were approximately 5000 feet high (we are at 1900ft and it was close to our home) and it came from the north then it turned west towards the ocean. The red lights were not fast but it would change speed frequently. I got my binoculars and the smaller white lights which were very bright was circling around vertical red lights and they would suddenly disappear then reappear. The whole time it was perfectly silent. I hear airplanes when they all I see are vapor trails and this was close to me and not very high off of the ground in comparison to airplanes. It also was not in the usual flight pattern. I have watched Starlink deployment and rocket launches and this was neither. This also was not a helicopter or plane. Drones are usually round. I've never seen anything like it before and can't explain what it could have been.

Cluster of lights visible in peripheral vision but difficult to see directly. They were moving and changing shape.

Most nights I walk outside around 3am and look up at mars and the perseid for shooting stars. There was a light in my peripheral vision that I struggled to see directly. I thought it was the Little Dipper but it was moving slowly in the sky. I took a few images, but couldn’t capture on video. The lights were hazy white and seemed to change shapes. I couldn’t see the detail when looking directly, but it was quite bright. Dogs were barking in the distance, which is somewhat unusual because I’m on a 5 acre farm.

Three bright lights viewed while flying an aircraft at 4,000ft. They were outside of our atmosphere appearing above the flight levels. It was a clear night no fog or reduced visibility. The lights faded out one after the other from top to bottom after 20 seconds of extremely bright radiation.

I was looking out my bedroom window when I saw two alien looking spacecrafts shoot right by, they were completely silent.

On a particularly overcast night, I experienced an encounter that continues to evoke a visceral response within me. I observed two chevron-shaped spacecraft traversing alarmingly close to my window—merely tens of meters away. As I gazed upward at the obscured night sky, admiring the scant few stars that struggled to pierce through the clouds, I suddenly became aware of something extraordinary (and unsettling) drawing my focus. It was so immediate and striking that I could hardly grasp it at first. What rendered this sighting even more fascinating was the fact that the crafts came from the direction of my neighbors’ Buddhist temple to the west. The notion of these enigmatic objects emerging from a site of spiritual significance added a layer of surrealism to the entire episode. The fear I experienced was overwhelming. Chills raced down my spine, and I found myself immobilized, unable to move or avert my gaze.

The crafts were of moderate size—perhaps 30 to 35 feet long; however, they appeared immense compared to the aircraft I typically observe in the distance. Their metallic black surfaces gleamed ominously, accented by bright reddish edges that made them resemble something straight out of a science fiction narrative, perhaps akin to a vessel one might encounter in Star Trek.

As they soared just above the treetops, I possessed a clear perspective of both the underside and the front of these vehicles (which was astonishing, given their altitude). They traversed at breakneck speed, and I could observe streamers trailing behind them, illustrating their remarkable velocity. To my utter astonishment, they emitted no sound—not a whisper could be heard, aside from the faint rustling of leaves in the breeze surrounding me.

After the encounter, I was overtaken by an intense sense of paralysis, leading me to ponder if this was some form of alien interference. The horror of witnessing such an event left me feeling immobilized and bewildered. Although I had pre-existing beliefs in UFOs, I was left grappling with the reality of what I had witnessed. This entire experience compelled me to report it immediately. It was so distinct and so unsettling that I felt an urgent need to document every detail. As I commenced writing down my account, vivid memories surged back, solidifying my conviction that this was undeniably real—not merely a figment of my imagination or a dream.

The glowing lights were exactly parallel and seemed to hover. There was a plane taking off from the airport and it was very very small compared to these lights. The plane disappeared into the atmosphere but the lights stayed. I turned my head for several seconds and thy were gone. They weren’t climbing in elevation like the plane so I was very very surprised when they were suddenly gone . I second guessed myself and what I had seen, so I didn’t report until now. I have been studying UFO sightings since that day and am now 100 % sure that is what I saw. It was unbelievable.

White 'Orb' seen hovering in Eastern Day-time Sky

Sighting occurred in the direction of ESE and at an altitude of appx 55 to 65 above the horizon. Shape and color of the object appeared to be 'white' and 'oval' or 'orb-shaped' against the blue daytime (cloudless) sky.

Initially appeared as a single object, and then eventually "divided" into two (or another simply 'appeared' alongside it, ..not known) Immediately went to a neighbor's shop for secondary witnesses to the event.

We saw and counted about 100 extremely fast moving bright lights in the sky. There is no way there were a plane or satellite. There was zero sounds or noises. The speeds were unbelievably fast. We saw one light coming down were we were gathered. It was actually completely metallic chrome silver but in a spherical shape. We all could see what look like humans wearing plain colored clothing but they looked too perfect and they were smiling at us. We all think they were aliens.

Bright green glowing cylinder, flying horizontally, in a steady direct line, disappearing abruptly without arcing, falling or flaring.

I watched a bright green glowing cylinder, flying horizontally, parallel to the ground, moving at a steady, brisk pace (75-100mph?), in a direct line from West to East. It was maybe 100-200 feet up, about 10-20 feet long and 2 feet across. After about 8 seconds it just disappeared without falling or flaring, well before hitting the horizon or going behind anything that would have taken it out of my line of sight. It made no sound that could be heard from my location. There was no trail or exhaust that I could see. No rotors, no wings, no discernible features protruding from the cylinder.

It was a sunny afternoon, with just a few, very high wispy clouds that did not obscure observation of the object. There was no wind at ground level. The clouds were moving from Southwest to Northeast, not the same direction as the object.

Semi-cloaked huge light ball in Santa Rosa emmits light swirls in circular pattern facing earth ,then upwards then vanished.

A glowing stationary light seen in the sky emitted contrail like light swirl of white light similar to starlight. The lights lasted approx. 20 mins. The lights Seemed to switch from the light source facing toward earth and then in a v shape upwards. When observed it was apporox 25,000 ft altitude and approx 50 ft in diameter.

Groups of unknown objects flying over silently then disperse

Often in the night sky I see craft. I grew up in SoCalifornia having grown up in the aerospace industry near plant 42. Point being, I always thought I had a grasp on airplane tech.

Here I often see crafts in groups/ silent or close to it. The lights at times seem blinding though I’m very sensitive to light but I don’t have this reaction to airplanes.? Recently after the Northern California fires and loosing my house I live further out in a more rural area away from lights. So I see more.

Approximately 1 month ago I saw many crafts seeming to be doing some operation, as if on a mission. They were flying too close to one another to be planes at least I thought. They were in small groups totaling perhaps 11. Flew over and dispersed and were all over making it difficult to distinguish between the stars and planets, as they spread out..

I feel that I can find them nightly though perhaps they are just testing I’m listening to your old reports with Art Bell now which is great. An honor to send you this report. Thank you for your hard work.

Fast moving chevron shape

My wife and I were on our back patio having a cigarette around 10pm, and i saw a commercial aircraft and i joked "it's a ufo" and we laughed. But just then a chevron shape appeared coming north to south..bottom seemed illuminated. No flashing lights. Moving 4-5 times as fast as the jet...lower though maybe 10,000 ft. This lasted 5-8 seconds and we have a big property with extensive views.

A little stunned we went back inside. No sound. Not the first time i have seen unusual craft. 4-5 other sightings.

It moved really slow any frist I thought it was that bag you light and floats in the sky. Then I was, like no way, it started picking up speed and was gon fast then any aircraft I seen. It was just floating like it was checking us out. One of the people I was with thought it was a shooting star I was like know way it's floating marking no sound, I recorded it and you you tell we never seen my thing like this ever. I set out every night staring at the stars I live next to a airport it was no such thing. Kinda of creepy.

I was walking with my dog, and since i saw some strange object a night before, i was just looking at the sky and searching it. I saw a bright red dot very high up, and it is possible to confuse with the star, but it was moving and quicklky, after i spot it, that that had like a projector like a connector to some thing invisible. I dont thing plane would do that.

Then, i saw much lower, like same high with birds, dark triangle. It was 21:13 Last night every street had a bright light, and i could see what it is. Too bad my phone is not for night picture on the sky. I just decided to watch. I use my strong flash light also. That craft was slowly quietly moving without and lights.

After this craft disapeared, it came back in 5 min. Looks like it made a circle. I watched again. The way it was moving in the dark, (i could see it because of street bright lights) it looks like a piramid.

Silent object without lights nor sound was passing slowly above houses in my neighborhood at night

It was about 22 o'clock, Thursday. No rain. Clear sky. 49 yo female.

I was walking with my dog. I don't image things. If I see, I say it. The sky was full of stars.

Then, I see something is moving high enough for birds, too low for a plane. Almost invisible, the same color as a sky, looks like triangle, or bird with wings opened widely, but the size was too big for a big bird.

I noticed, stars in the sky were missing when that object was passing them. Was an object! It was slowly, quietly, without lights, moving above houses to North. This happened in Santa Rosa neighborhood, close to little park, near to freeway 101.

After it disappeared, I realized, that I had a flash light, and didn't use it.

When I came back home, and stepped out to my backyard, I saw helicopters.

I don’t use drugs, and I don’t drink neither.

Bright orange lights hovering around the moon and horizon, then rising up and disappearing

When I was coming home from the store, I saw bright orange lights, almost like stars, floating in the sky.

Six of them were near the horizon almost behind the mountains and dimmer than the others, seven were to the right of the moon and almost looked like the little dipper but when two of them drifted further away it was very apparent that they were not stars. Three were to the left of the moon, one faded before the rest did but one was flashing faintly. Five more were directly above in the sky.

After about 5 minutes, they all began to rise and eventually drifted up and faded until they were no longer visible.

When I got home, several of my neighbors said they saw the lights too and couldn't make out what they were. I also called a friend in another part of town and she said she saw them as well, but further north meaning they were fairly close to the ground.

Bright orange planet-like object sighted near Cassiopia.

Right around 10:30pm the evening of December 20, 2016, I saw what looked like a bright, orange planet the size of Venus, just Northeast of Caph in Cassiopeia. I stared at it for about 30 seconds and I thought I perceived it to be moving--very slowly so I assumed it was an aircraft.

I went inside to get my binoculars in the 45 seconds it took me to come back outside, the object had vanished. I stared at the spot where I had seen it and I noticed another object nearby, about the same size, only dim and fuzzy grey in color.

It was moving quickly, roughly North to South trajectory, and disappeared from view within 30 seconds.

Initial object was very bright in the clear eastern sky with no other stars or commercial objects visible - bright white oval, football shape initially with two internal circular lights such as jellyfish. Another object after viewing through binoculars, dark red in color, moved in and close - with no other objects in the sky. We deployed our telescope, not capturing the red entity as it moved close and disappeared from the football - as we deployed our highest resolution telescope - we observed one object of pulsating and flashing lights, stagnant in the sky - but then moving extremely down range with dark red orange.red. With our high powered telescope we kept it in range for an hour or more. A plane passed, with thin wings across my line of site with the object, not a commercial vehicle.

Strangest thing... On our way to the lake, it caught the corner of my eye. The only way I can describe it is... Looked like a flying dune buggy with 2 bars above (on either side of it). It didn't look like it had any wings or propellers.

It is hard to say how big or far away it was, since I had no point of reference. But from my perspective, it looked rather high (1-2 miles high). It seemed too big to be a drone. But again, it's hard to say against nothing but clouds. It had no lights (that I could see) & didn't seem to make any noise.

It was heading in the direction of my house so I called my daughter to keep an eye out for it.

I tried to take a picture but it was out of my sight by the time I grabbed my phone.

Started out as a still (white) light. Then it projected a stream or beam of light (same color). During this time, the object was not moving. Then it started moving with the beam of light going with it. It was also almost as if the light was giving off steam or there was vapor coming it. The object continued to move horizontally for about 15 seconds. The beam of light stop and then the object was slowly taking off Vertically into the sky. The beam literally left a bright 'stain' in the sky.

He went and got son binoculars. I couldn't believe my eyes! It was a transparent round "blob" with the consistency of a clear jellyfish. In a way it resembled a hoop. The entire outside edge of the "hoop" was a light. It stayed lit but would blink periodically!

I didn't tell my son what I was seeing. I ask him to take a look and tell me what he saw. He explained seeing the same exact same thing I was seeing. It sat stationary for 8 minutes or so the watched it slowly float to the west out of sight. The whole thing lasted 10 minutes or so.

White luminous small moon like object traversed daytime sky E to W for about 1.5 hours,

We observed a luminous white circular object fly slowly overhead for about 1 1/2 hours. Total time was from about 15:45- 17:15. It looked like a small moon. It moved very slowly from East to West. We were able to watch it through binoculars but could not make out any details or dimension.

Our sighting was verified by a friend who was about 5 miles to the west of us. It was hard to tell how high up it was, but it seemed like many thousand feet as we could both see it at the same time and it appeared generally overhead.

Because of the distance, we have no idea of the size. It never appeared to vary its course, just slow and steady in a straight line. As it got farther away (up and away?) It looked like a very bright star/planet. Much brighter than Venus.

I am a 65 year old female domestic engineer.

On the night of May 6, 2015 my husband and I went to bed at 21:00.

At 23:25 I woke up to go to the bathroom. Before returning to bed, I pulled the blind away from the window to adjust the windows opening and noticed out in the Northwest just above the horizon very bright glowing orange circular light. I quickly went to the living room to get the binoculars so I could get a better look. Viewing the light through the binoculars I saw that the bright glowing orange circular light was pulsing, and when it pulsed, it would turn to a darker orange, then back to the light orange. It was very beautiful.

While watching the glowing orange circular light for about 3 minutes, it started to move backward until out of sight.

I didn't wake my husband because I didn't want to miss anything. I told him next time I would wake him up if it happens again. :)

It sure was awesome to witness!

I am a 63 year old resident of Santa Rosa, California. I have never before seen a UFO. I see many aircraft pass over regularly because I live near the Santa Rosa airport. I see aircraft everyday and every night.

Tonight, while sitting in my hot tub, I was looking at the sky and I saw an object like nothing I have seen before. It followed no regular flight pattern. It appeared to be moving in a South/West direction.

The craft was round and looked like two plates stacked on top of each other. There was a round pattern of lights on the "bottom plate" of the craft. It appeared to move slowly, but within ten seconds I could no longer see it at all.

I jumped out of the tub and hollered at my wife to look up at it, but she was frightened by the tone of my voice and by my excitement and would not look up, so she do not see it, but we are both still shaken by the experience.

We are both very interested to know if any other such sightings occurred in this a! rea around the same time this evening.

Three white, multi-faceted, pulsing orbs form a triangle.

Three white pulsing orbs were seen. They appeared faceted (like a round faceted crystal).

At 12 am I saw one large orb. It appeared to be coming closer, directly towards me and extremely slowly appearing to become slightly larger in size.

By 12:10 there were two, one small one now closely above and to the right.

Then later a third small orb of equal size appeared a good distance to the right The small orbs appeared also to be farther away.

The pulsing was beautiful and hypnotic. I found it difficult to break away.

I experienced a sense of timelessness and weightlessness while watching the large orb.

I finally stopped watching and then looked again at 12:30 to find the positions had changed.

A large triangle was formed by the three orb points.

The large orb was above while the two equally sized smaller orbs were positioned below and respectively to the left and right of the larger orb, forming an obtuse isosceles triangle.

They remained this way until at least 12:45, at which time a marine layer came in and began obscuring the view.

Single moving lights in the night skies south of Santa Rosa, New Mexico

I was stopped on a north bound entrance ramp to highway 84 south of Santa Rosa, NM. I am not sure about the exit number. I stopped to take a break and short nap at approximately 03:00.

I woke around 04:00 and noticed what I thought was a shooting star. I was amazed at how clear and bright the stars were and especially how apparent the Milky Way was, because of the ultra low amounts of ambient city light.

As I looked up in the general area of the shooting star, toward the west, I noticed what I thought was an airplane or satellite moving across the sky, but it was not strobing or flashing and appeared to be a solid white color. It stopped all of a sudden and then moved for a short distance in a different direction.

The light disappeared and then I noticed a few others near the same spot in the sky moving short distances in different directions.

The duration of these moving lights only lasted for 15-30 seconds and I didn't see any after.

Technically this is ufo, but I don’t know if it was ‘one of our’s.

About a month ago (this is 8/11/14), I saw an object in the sky that caught my attention. We live in Santa Rosa, CA, and about 3 miles from the airport. It was about 9:00 pm, the sky was dark, no fog.

I noticed out of my second story window that there was an object and I thought it was an airplane coming straight on to the airport. But it wasn’t moving at all, and there was only one light. I laughed at myself, thinking ‘oh sure, you just want to see a ufo. I got my husband to look at it. I kept track of it for about 20 minutes- it’s possible that it moved a tiny bit, but when you are staring at something like that you can be fooled, so I don’t know.

It also seemed to maybe have some periodic flickering colors on the right side. For those 20 minutes it did not change course. When I went to bed it was still there, same place.

It was south from here, very small. San Francisco is 50 miles from here, and I supposed it could be in that direction. I don’t know if I could actually see that far, but it was a dark cloudless night and the object, although very small, was bright.

I figured the angle was about 50 degrees up from the ground where I was.

Now here is a funny thing. My sister lives about 50 miles south of San Francisco in the area of San Jose. I never mentioned this siting to her (I actually pretty much forgot about it). About two weeks ago we were talking and, guess what, she saw the same thing! But hers was a few weeks after my siting. I did not say anything as she was relating it to me; I put my hand over my mouth and let her finish talking about it, and then told her. What a shock! She saw hers later than mine, more about 11:00pm. And hers was somewhere over the Lockheed area (I think a little east from her). She watched hers for about 10 minutes- it did not move. Other than the time and date, and a little more east from her place, it was exactly the same description! Today we were talking about this and I decided to write you.

We decided it must be a drone. Do you know?? I don’t like the idea of drones lurking in the sky any more than an ET.

At 8:38 pm tonight my wife and I were driving eastbound on Montgomery Dr. in Santa Rosa Ca. heading home to Sonoma. I Saw Directly in front of us an orange light that I first thought was an airplane.

I asked my wife if she could see navigational lights on it she said no it was slowly pulsing.

I was approaching the intersection of Los Alamos Rd I stopped looked out my open window and it stopped.

It was approximately 2500 feet up I heard no sound and then it reversed direction stopped again hovered still pulsating, dimmed and then went completely out.

I had the feeling it knew I was watching it.

Orange sphere that suddenly disappears.

I am filing this report for my son, daughter and her boyfriend. They are reluctant to report the incident because they are shy. I was inside the house and they came bursting in through the front door. My daughter was particularly excited and very animated about the incident. It is interesting because a husband and wife reported seeing the exact same thing my children reported on the same 4/10/14 date and time. We do not know the couple at all.

My children saw the object from Baker Avenue in front of our house. This is across town my many miles from the other report. They reported that the sphere was orange in color. It traveled at the speed of an airplane and it looked to be the same size as a full moon. There was no sound. They did know how high or far away it was. They also said the sphere suddenly vanished. I am making this report so that others that saw the same thing have the courage to come forward too.

At approx. 10:53 pm pst, My Husband was outside smoking a cigarette. When he very excitedly started yelling at me, to come out “this is for real!”

I ran out and saw two very bright orange glowing balls of light pass over head, completely silently. Not flashing at all and moving at amazing speed overhead.

We have lots of planes in the area and often watch them for fun. This was a lot faster than that and the light was like no plane I have ever seen.

One was lower and headed east, one was up very high and then stopped. It seems to have taken position just like a planet, but both of us saw it fly up there.

I have no idea what we are seeing. We both saw it fly up there but now it looks just like a bright star or planet. It is even moving with the other stars in the sky.

UFO sighting in Santa Rosa, California.

UFO SIGHTING At approximately 2340 hours, I was heading east on College Ave (on way to grocery store).

Suddenly a light appeared, like a bright shooting star.

It fell quickly across the sky.

But it never disappeared.

It kept going, and going.

I’m thinking: When is this going to disappear? But it moved like it was being driven, like an airliner that is going to crash because it is moving too quickly to land safely.

To listen for the crash, I rolled down my window.

It got so low to the ground my view was blocked by buildings.

Just before it would have gone out of view, it changed direction and flew in a straight line, no longer falling. The direction change was an L pattern, parallel to the ground.

It flew away from me, same direction I was heading, and disappeared.

Small, silent, unlit triangle craft

My fiancé and I were lying on our backs in the back yard, looking at the stars. We had just seen a really long, bright meteorite and were hoping for more.

All of a sudden she sat up and exclaimed, "What IS that??" I looked in the direction she was looking, approximately West, and caught movement immediately with my peripheral vision. As we watched it I went through a mental check list. Too big and fast to be a bird. To fast and straight-flying to be a balloon. Too silent and close to be an airplane.

As we watched it gliding silently past our rooftop, looking as though it was basically flying down the street we live on, it was blocking out stars and we could clearly see an outline created by the lights below reflecting off of what looked like a grey or silver underbelly.

I also had the impression that there may have been some barely-glowing lights along the trailing edge, perhaps four, but it was so dimly-lit that I can't be sure of that at all. As I watched it disappear into the night I said, "That was a ((word deleted)) UFO!!!"

I asked my fiancé if she had been able to make out the shape of it. She held her two thumbs and index fingers up and made the shape of an obtuse isosceles triangle, which was exactly what I had seen.

It was impossible to accurately gauge size, speed and distance, but our impression was that it was less than 500 yards away, probably 20-30ft from wingtip to wingtip, and moving 20-50mph.

Three bright orange triangular lights seen by elementary school teacher on Christmas Eve-Not Santa's sleigh.

Three Orange Triangular Lights in the Sky It was Christmas Eve around 10:00 p.m. It was a clear night with what looked to be a full moon. The moon was shining bright with a huge white circular illumination. I went outside into my backyard to let my dog out to go to the bathroom. I sat down and waited for her. I looked up and saw an orange triangular light in the sky the size of a small plane. It was to the left of the moon’s light. I thought it odd because it was bright orange. I see planes overhead at night all the time and know that the planes’ lights blink white and orange. This object did not, but it didn’t get my attention just yet. I looked back down and continued to wait for my dog. When I looked back up again the object had not passed overhead. It was almost as if it had passed round again.

When I continued to look up in the sky I now saw another orange triangular light. I had never seen two “planes” so close together and thought it very strange. As I continued to look, a third orange light came into view. Now there were three orange lights in the sky in a triangular position. It was at this time, I believed without a doubt, that I was seeing some sort of U.F.O. I was scared but intrigued. I stared at the three objects for a while and waited for them to pass overhead but they didn’t. They just hovered. The lights never blinked like planes and it was silent.

Eventually, one light slowly moved to the right and out of my range of sight. It was blocked by my patio umbrella. I kept my eye on the two lights in front of me. Then one of the lights slowly moved to the left. By now the lights were getting smaller and shrinking into more of a circular orange light. My eyes darted back and forth between the two smaller orange lights until they became white like stars and faded off.

I just kept watching to see if the lights would come back but they didn’t. The next thing I saw in the sky was a plane. I watched it carefully to see what the lights would do. I saw orange and white lights blinking, and of course I heard the sound. What I had seen were clearly not planes.

I knew that what I had observed was extraordinary and told my family on Christmas day. Everyone believed me and told me to post my sighting. So here it is. I am an elementary school teacher and not into U.F.O. stuff at all. I truly believe what I saw was real and very strange. I feel lucky to have seen it.

Chevron Craft Seen over Sonoma County 10/27/12 @ 9pm

A chevron shaped object was seen slowly moving towards the Sonoma County Airport in a N/E direction from Santa Rosa (Fulton Road Neighborhood), neighbours all say the object was moving very slowly, and all confirmed it was chevron shaped object with three bright blinking red lights. The craft maintained an altitide of approx 500ft. I was able to observe the object closer (300 yds) with a handheld single lense binocular (type used at gun range), I saw the outline of small rectangular windows on the craft, the object also looked as it was slanted at an angle (front being lower than the back). As a private pilot I can confirm this had no identifying features (tail, tail number, directionational lights (green/red, etc...), the blinking red lights were very bright and blinkined out of sequence. I wish I could of seen more it.

50 Photos of object with lights hovering over Santa Rosa, CA

On Saturday evening of October 27, 2012, I took 50 photos of a fairly large object hovering above Santa Rosa, CA, from approx 8:30 to 9:15 pm. I shot a total of 55 photos, but the first 5 showed nothing, leaving 50 clear and obvious photos of an object in the night sky. The original 55 photos are still in my camera on the same disk, and I would be willing to share them with a knowledgeable expert or research organization. One would need only to enlarge, as I did, the 50 photos that follow the first 5 blanks to see everything in detail, with no explanation needed. I just recently discovered the NUFORC website and thank the proprietor for making it available.

This object was above a rural area of ranches and vineyard properties, West of Santa Rosa’s developed suburban neighborhoods, where I live. More specifically, it was one-half mile South of River Road, and less than one-quarter mile West of Fulton Road just below the intersection of Fulton and River Road on the Southwest side. The sky was dark and completely clear with no clouds or wind.

A private pilot also observed this object over Santa Rosa at about the same time, and posted it on the NUFORC the same day. I refer to the pilot’s excellent report for my own comparison which I agree with, except the object was hovering, not traveling, when I observed and took pictures of it, and it was several miles South of Sonoma Co Airport. The pilot describes a chevron shape which could have been, but the sky was too dark for me to determine. From its lights alone, I estimate the object’s size would cover the width of a 6 lane freeway (3 lanes in each direction) if it were on the ground. The object appeared to be about 500 feet above the ground as the pilot described.

The craft was completely and totally silent as it hovered, which surprised me for something that large and that close. It appeared to tilt gently from side to side (or front to rear) as it hovered and shifted its orientation, standing on end at times. It made no fast or jerky movements.

All of my photos show 2 to 4 lights which blinked slowly out of sequence and occasionally changed from red to white. There was always one red light present that appeared to have a white-hot center which shows in the photos. The lights reminded me of the slow blinking lights seen on the tall frame of a radio tower (if one of those huge towers was hovering in the sky, tilting from side to side).

Along with those lights, some photos show lights that are turquoise and flesh-pink in color. Toward the end of the photo sequence, portions of a tan colored, rough-surfaced body mass with no distinct shape can be seen in the dark areas between the lights. Other photos show narrow rectangular window-like areas that the pilot also observed. They appear to be lit with the cold kind of light produced by fluorescent tubes.

Several photos show some interesting features I did not notice or simply could not see, notably patterns of radiation emitting from the craft. Some have turquoise colored “Z” and ‘W” shaped patterns, and others look like the lightning from a Tesla globe. I learned that this could possibly be ‘plasma” radiation, which is an advanced system that replaces metallic structures (such as antennas) with energy that can be shaped and directed as needed. I also learned that some UFO’s can be “shape shifters,” making them difficult to describe.

I took my photos from two areas and made a point to steady the camera against a sturdy surface, first a lamp pole and later a fence post. The first set was taken on Barnes Rd near where I live, 1.5 miles East of the object, and the second set was taken on Fulton Rd, no more than a football field’s distance from the object as I looked up at an angle. Here, I got as close as I could without going through ¬¬gates and trespassing on private property. This is where I noticed it made absolutely no sound as it hovered.

In some of the photos here, the lights of a distant ranch house can be seen on the ground below the object, which serves as a reference that made it easy to locate when I went back the following day. I thought about showing the residents of that house a photo of the object that was above them on October 27th, but decided against it.

The sighting began when my wife and I noticed from our backyard while it was still light, what we thought at first glance was a low hovering blimp approx 2 miles West of our house. About 20 minutes later, we noticed it was still there and larger than we thought, with no “blimp” structure of any kind over what looked like a frame of lights hovering in the sky. That was when I grabbed my camera and drove to the first location to take photos. Later when I drove home and looked West from my backyard, the object was no longer there.

My wife and I have lived for 25 years in the house we own here in Santa Rosa, and have worked for as many years in occupations that require professional licenses from the State of California. This is the first time in either of our lives that we have seen anything that could possibly be considered a UFO.

I was driving alone eastbound on State Highway 74 toward Palm Desert. I saw a shiny metallic object hovering over an undeveloped stretch of land southeast of my car and west of the Santa Rosa Indian Reservation. It appeared to be about the size of a helicopter cabin, shaped a bit oblong and maybe 500 feet above ground. I did not stop my car but slowed down to about 40 mph so I could study the object. It was definitely not a helicopter as it had no rotors or tail. A car came up behind me so I sped up as no turnouts were nearby and lost sight of the object.

Yellow Orange lights over West Sonoma County CA

On Saturday, June 23, 2012 at roughly 11:16 P.M. My wife and I were walking our dogs in a field a couple miles West of Santa Rosa. My wife had stopped to watch the sky and called for me to look at something. She asked if an object moving across the sky was a jet or not. She had been watching it for quite a while before mentioning it to me.

What I saw was a light much too large to be a high flying aircraft. Rather than being a small pinpoint, it was maybe the equivalent of 1/8"-1/4" at arms length.

It was South and slightly West of us heading roughly East. I would estimate it was about 25-30 degrees from the horizon. I assumed it to be an aircraft at first because there is an air traffic lane that comes in off the ocean about due west.

The object was a strange color somewhat like a high pressure sodium light. The intensity sort of "undulated", but we could see no strobes. There was no sound. The other odd thing was the flight path. It didn't seem to travel in a smooth straight trajectory. It sort of bobbled around on it's path. Also, it climbed steadily and got smaller and smaller until we could no longer see it. It disappeared about 45-50 degrees from the horizon and about Southeast of us.

Approximately two minutes later, my wife spoke out about another one. This one was farther West, when I saw it than the previous object, and much lower. Lower to the point I thought it might have just taken off from a nearby airport, but there are no airports West of Santa Rosa. We observed this light follow a similar path to the Southwest climbing rapidly in an undulating trajectory until it disappeared in the same spot as the first one.

2 bright orange lights over Santa Rosa Ca.

June 23, 2012 My husband and I were walking our dogs tonight in Santa Rosa California, as we do every night at a school 5 miles west of town. At around 11:15 I was looking at the sky and noticed an unusually bright orange light approaching us from the south. I called to my husband to look and said “That’s not a plane is it?” It kept getting higher and closer and then changed direction and quickly started going to the east where it then disappeared.

A few minutes later we both saw another very large, bright orange light low coming up from the horizon in the west. It seemed to come towards us (we were east of it) and then rapidly ascended to the east at the same location where we saw the other one and disappeared also. They both seemed to have some sort of pulsing movement in the light.

There was no sound at all. When we saw the 2nd one I had an urge to hide as I thought it was coming toward us but it went up instead.

2 nights ago at the same place, probably more around 11:00pm, we also saw what we thought was a satellite moving rapidly across the sky from south to north (we are familiar with satellites and the space station moving across the sky as well as what planes and helicopters look like) as we were watching, It gave a big bright flash of white light and was gone! I don’t know what the heck is going on in the sky here right now but I’m keeping my eyes open and my wits about me!

Bright light moving fast in night sky no blinking no sound faster than an airplane slower than a satellite

Two of us in our backyard at dark saw this bright light as bright as Jupiter is in the night sky right now, just going across the sky faster than a jet and slower than a satellite.

I look at the sky alot now because I have seen more sighting than I can count with two hands in daylight and night. It had no sound it was coming in from the west fast like from the pacific Ocean and going inland sort of south east. I don't now what this is. So I am reporting this now. I used to be a small aircraft pilot and have studied the sky for years not only for weather but I look for stars and planets that are known to be in the sky and I sure know what a airplane looks like. this was not an airplane no blinking lights or sound and went right over our heads.

yesterday night around 11:00pm...i went outside to look at the stars and i saw a group of lights that were flying in the sky headed in the same direction,there were to many to count..i went back inside to get my sister in law and her sister to come outside to see those lights that were flying slowly on the sky..we saw some bright lights and some that were'nt bright..it was a trip because their were flying the same direction and really slow..they were in a big flying formation and i noticed that some were bright but i could see other crafts flying next to them but with no lights on but you could still see them in the shadows following the bright ones,i watch them for about 10 minutes until the clouds blocked my view

A low flying cylinder shaped obect with a propeller fan looking device at the end about 150 above ground.

It was yesterday- Saturday, August 21, 2010. I live in Santa Rosa, CA. It was right after I left Wal-mart In Windsor, Ca, (just a few towns north of Santa Rosa). There was an Airshow going on at the Santa Rosa Charles Shultz Airport and as my girlfriend and I were walking out of walmart we were looking in the sky towards the west direction watching a jet in the sky. Once it was out of sight we got into the car and proceeded to drive home.

Before getting on the freeway heading west on Shiloh road in Windsor Ca, myself and one passenger in my car both witnessed a very strange craft in the sky about 1000 feet ahead of us. It was flying really low, maybe 100 to 200 feet max. above the road. It was a cylinder object with a fan looking propeller device at the back end of it. Instead of a propeller on the front of it like a normal looking plane. It was a bright silver, almost white looking color. It looked to be about 20 or 30 feet long by 10 to 15 feet wide-(about ! the size of a personal 1 to 2 man plane)

Like I said there was an airshow going on so I was kind of looking towards the sky when it happened, and so when I saw it I thought to myself am I really seeing this?- what is this thing flying so low and it seemed to be moving at a good speed but I could see it so clearly. And as I thought that my friend riding in the passenger seat yelled out "look at that!" and we were both in such awe because we think we just a ufo. It was wierd it looked like something that would'nt even be able to fly. I had her describe to me what she saw and she explained it the same as me. We both went home and drew out what it looked like but she doesnt really want to look like a crazy person. Our drawings look just about similar.

we were just leaving Spring Lake Park and looking north east towards the mountains over Rincon Valley when we saw a dark small shiny object reflecting the sun in a backdrop of shifting clouds. I mentioned it to my hiking partner ans she saw it as well. It hovered in the same spot around 2500 feet off the ground as the clouds moved behind it. We hiked down the trail to another vantage point and it was still there. It was way too high to be a kite, and didn't move with the wind.

We moved on, but now, tonight we still don't know what that was....?

10 UFOs over Santa Rosa, California (six in a big dipper formation, four in a half circle)

I had trouble falling asleep on Saturday, October 24, 2009, and so around 11:30 pm, I just started looking up at the stars outside my bedroom window like I do occasionally whenever I can’t sleep. This night was different however, because I immediately noticed bright lights in the sky in an arrangement similar to the big dipper. My window faces east, so I was looking that direction. Like the formation in the video, the formation I saw had only two objects forming the handle, except the formation I saw had the handle tilted diagonally upward. Also, the formation I saw was staying pretty much stationary, with the exception of one of the objects (the lower object in the dipper handle which was sort of swaying back and forth, not in a dramatic way but ever so slightly, and it was this that caught my eye) and the only other difference is that the formation in the video seems to be more tightly packed in, and the formation I saw was a bit more spread out. All the objects I saw were dimming in and out, and the object that was swaying would occasionally flash a dark red.

A lot of things I witnessed are similar to the video like the altitude, the brightness and coloration, size, and of course, the formation itself. Off to the right of the dipper formation, were four objects in no particular order or formation that slowly moved together to form a crescent shape or half circle. During this time, the dipper formation stayed in place, dimming in and out. Eventually, the object at the bottom of the crescent began to flash wildly, first in it’s “natural” color, then in dark red and blue. It struck me as sort of like a morse code, or signal of some kind, and I assume it was “communicating” to the dipper formation, at which point I got spooked and went downstairs to make coffee as this was all a bit too much for me to handle. I’ve always been a skeptic about UFOs and this has pretty much shaken up my whole world view. I can no longer deny that UFOs exist. In the video link I provided, it appears that formation is regrouping into separate formations, ! and I can only assume that is the activity that I was witnessing, but I didn’t stay to witness the whole incident because I was pretty shaken, so I can’t say what eventually happened. When I worked up the courage to come back up to my bedroom and have a look out the window about a half hour later, both the dipper formation and half circle formation had gone, nowhere to be found.

Unusual Red/Orange Spheres Arrive and form a triangle over Santa Rosa, Sonoma County USA

At 8:45PM On August 23rd 2009 It was calm and quiet night and the sun had been down for about an hour when I stepped outside my front door at noticed what at first appeared to me to be 4 airplanes landing in a in-coming flight path.

I quickly realized that these in coming objects were bright red/orange and followed the same flight path...

I called for my wife and a few neighbors to witness this sighting. WE all gathered and watched the orange/red spheres move across the sky almost like they were moving in our direction. If they had continued across the sky I could of thought of a few possible explainations for the occurence but they didnt... they stopped. One by one, 4 of them arriving at first. One stopped sharply and held its position while another went up and stopped and another dropped lower to its position. The last of the 4 went straight up and stopped. It was still really calm out and there wasnt a sound to be heard and were all used to airplanes & h! elicopters flying over us, this wasnt the case this time. All 4 UFO's held that position for at least 5 mins until 2 more red/orange spheres appeared from the same North Eastern direction as the other 4... and joined them by finding there position in what seemed to me to be a flight formation.

All 6 spheres held that position for at least 10 mins as we watched them all slow pull away out of the atmosphere until them looked just like stars... then disappeared. During part of the sighting I ran and got my camera and took the pictures that I will include, I've also made a short youtube video of the original photos and some blow-ups of the objects... simply amazing!

8/23/09 @ 8:50pm , duration 15 minutes, Santa Rosa, CA - several witness. 7 Orange/red oval objects -stood still

At aprox. 8:50 pm, my husband was outside and yelled at me to get out there .. I went out to the deck and observed seven orange/red objects that looked like planets- these were oval, large, there was no blinking, no noise. They came in from the northeast, gathered into a circle, and did not move, then two- three disappeared. I grabbed my camera and started taking photos then got my video camera. We heard people on the street and went outside to the front, where many of our neighbors were looking and observing as well.

These objects were NOT anything I have ever seen. Two- three disappeared, then one two would take its place, then one by one they vanished into thin air.

The police responded to a 911 call from a neighbor from someone they thought was intoxicated saying " dont be affraid, everything will be ok." The neighbors told the officer what we all observed and the officer wanted to know if they took photos, they said no, but pointed to my house as I took photos. The officer came to my house and witnessed the pictures/video's and told me to send them to the media- this was the real deal.

They were orange objects with red centers. very amazing experience to have seen.

Fireballs in the North joined by others moving slowly from the South East then they drift upwards getting smaller disappearing

Myself and two neighbors observed three very large orange red lights in the sky moving slowly from the South East to the North where they hovered above us. One of them then rose getting smaller and disappeared.. About that same time we noticed another two bright orange red lights to the South East which slowly moved into the same area of the sky joining the other two lights. They were all silent. There was no sound of a burner as with a hot air balloon. A second and then a third one of them rose getting smaller and disappeared. The last two remained for a while longer. I was able to get my father and my sister and her boyfriend out of the house to also observe these last two bright lights, before they also rose getting smaller and disappeared.

At the brightest they were ten times brighter than the brightest planet and much larger. They seemed to have a reflected light equally as bright as their primary light, though almost on top of it, and slightly to the top left. Sometimes they moved in formation or joined or left the formation.

Three distinct blue lights hover above northern Santa Rosa.

While having a poker party with some friends and their kids on September 6th 2009, we heard the kids (who were playing in the backyard) say “hey there's a UFO!” Not really paying any attention to them we went back to our game. The kids came in and made the parents go outside and look. We looked to the north just above the neighbor's house who live directly behind us. We saw what looked like a wide blue line that flickered. You could see it better with your peripheral vision. The light seemed to move side to side and up and down but hover in the same general area. I grabbed my video camera and it wouldn't pick up the lights. I then grabbed my still camera with a telephoto lens and was shocked to see on the view screen 3 distinct blue lights. I then took a few pictures and went back to finish our poker game, while my son continued to take more pictures. The time was about 9:30 pm when the kids first noticed the lights and it was about 10:45 pm when they (the kids) said it slowly moved to the right and lowered out of sight. If I had to guess the lights or globes were above an area called Larkfield, a small suburb north of Santa Rosa CA.

Craziest thing i've seen in my life, truly unexplainable

Me and my brother were camping in a friends backyard. We came into the tent around midnight or 12:30 and my brother pointed out the light in the sky and said that light was here last time we came in the tent (which had been about 2 hours earlier). So we layed down in the tent and watched the light for over an hour and a half, and during that time the light seemed like it just hovered way up in the sky.

We watched it make distingtive shapes in the sky but no matter what shape it made or direction it flew it always went back to the same spot in the sky. Later on while still watching it we turned on a lantern in the tent and the only light visible in the sky was the one we had been watching. And eventully the light would get dim then bright and it did that for a little while. We looked away for a minute and when we looked back up it was gone.

A sight of an object, with 5 orange lights lined up horizontally, was seen hovering quietly between 500 to 1000 feet above houses.

The event started at approximately 12:30AM. I was driving on Stony Point Road from Rohnert Park to Santa Rosa. Near the intersection of Stony Point and Todd Road was when I saw an aircraft-like object quietly hovering in the sky.

The object had 5 orange lights lined up horizontally: OOOOO.

The lights alternated in brightness and in color (from orange to yellow).

My initial thought was why an aircraft would be flying so close to houses. I would estimate the object to be flying between 500 to 1000 feet above houses, at a speed of 60mph, and was a quarter of a mile ahead of me. I continued to follow it for 3 minutes until my sight of it was blocked by trees and then the object completely disappeared (possibly landing).

I followed and saw the object starting from the intersection of Stony Point Road and Todd Road until the intersection of Stony Point Road and Dutton Ave. It was after that that I lost sight of the object.

Five or six hovering lights formed into a triangle in the sky in Santa Rosa, California.

My girlfriend and I were driving and came into the intersection of College Ave and Humboldt in Santa Rosa, CA, and noticed some bright lights in the sky. It was 10:45 PM. I felt so elated that I called a friend and the cell phone call recorded the time.

At first, due to all the light in the intersection, we did not think much of it. As we drove closer and came into a darker area we noticed five and six bright lights formed into a triangle shape in the sky (we were surrounded by trees and, therefore, the visibility was slightly impaired; nevertheless, we could clearly see the triangle formation) .

They were slightly swerving into each other but essentially maintained the triangle shape. I asked my girlfriend to stop the car and I got out to get a clearer look at this unusual phenomenon.

As I stood there, all of the bright points of light disappeared, except one. They zoomed out at an unimaginable speed leaving no trace whatsoever. The bright point of light which remained did so for another 20-30 seconds, and then slightly dimmed and suddenly it was gone. The color of these lights was a blend of red and orange and they were very bright relative to the surrounding stars.

These bright lights might have been hovering at 500 feet or more; it was hard to tell the exact altitude and distance, but they were near enough for us to see what was taking place.

The two of us were pretty baffled and amazed but we were convinced that we had witnessed a UFO, and I employ this term in the strict sense of the word as in Unidentified Flying Object.

Light in the night sky following an airplane and then vanishing for no reason. Cloudless night sky.

First I was watching a small aircraft with headlight and flashing tail beacon then I noticed another light some distance behind it traveling roughly the same direction, however this one had no flashing light. I thought it might be another airplane and I watched it for about 20-30 second and then it vanished.

The sky had no cloud cover and I can think of no reason why this light/craft would vanish suddenly.

I notice the same type of event two nights ago in the same area of the sky - west of Santa Rosa and fairly close.

Brilliant fireball observed while driving north on Stony Point Road, Santa Rosa, Ca.

On my way home from work at ~ 5:45-6:00 PM while driving north on Stony Point Road, I saw a very bright fireball moving from east to west in a downward trajectory (~45 degree angle) and well above ground, it appeared to break apart and disappeared.

Happened very quickly, but it was quite noticeable.

Other drivers on the road most likely saw it as well.

Siteing of two Craft traveling in formation Arc Shaped no sound black in color.

two eyebrow ahaped ( craft flying in formation. Black in color flying south west across my large field of view. About a mile away maybe closer at about 800-1000 feet.

traveling at a higer speed than normal craftbased on the distance from me. did not appear to have a fuselage or central cabin. Th width or wingspan was possibly 60 or so feet.the drooped wing tips were snarply curved at the tips. I see a lot of different typed of aircraft from my vantage point. all the aircraft I see are easily recoginized by anyone. These two craft are nothing I have ever seen in the sky. I was a military policeman in the Army and am quite clear on the shape of these two.

The speed wasconsiderably faster than anything short of a military jet.

The crafts made no sound at all they were definatly in formation flying parallel to each other,at about more than their wingspan apart. They traveled south to north/ westerly.

I contacted the local newspaper with this info. They called back at my requestand said that there were no other reports of this.I do not firmly beleive in UFO's or disbeleive. My speaking with the newspaper was to see if anyone else had seen them.

Rhe shape to clarify was a arcwing thickess could have bee as much as several feet tapering to a thick tip.

B2 shaped UFO observed in the sky

This object appeared within several hundred yards from where I was walking my dog that evening. I happened to catch it in the corner of my eye, atfirst thinking it was a bird (we have geese and a large white owl in this park). Unfortunately, I had on earphones listening to my mp3 player so I did not hear any sound coming from the object, however, even at my usual volume I can hear autos and small planes. I heard nothing during my viewing. The object was heading due East (flying west to east). What immediately caught my eye was that it appeared transparent, it was a starry evening, relatively clear, and it looked like the stars were reflecting from the bottom of the object. I saw no lights whatsoever so I knew this was no a civilian or possibly even military aircraft. Size wise, I would say it was about as big as a small private plane. Oddly, the most striking resemblance I can compare it to is the wingshaped B2 bomber. It had a dome cockpit type area and wings that had cut outs similiar to the B2. This object was much smaller. I did not see any lights until it was almost out of sight and it appeared that above the edges of the wing tips there were circular housing that emitted a bright, glowing red light. Again, above, not below like a normal aircraft. I would estimate it's speed at approx. 150-200mph.(I do that having been to many air shows and observing other aricraft over the years. I was approx. 200-500 feet high, which I also found odd seeing that it was heading directly over the center of town.

I go to the same area many nights during the week. I have yet to see it again.

Triangle shaped bright lights with one red in the rear floated slowly southwest over Santa Rosa CA

At 10:05 pm, Wednesday, 8-15-07, in the north Santa Rosa, California area, at 3925 Old Redwood Hwy, I noticed a bright light typical of approaching airplanes in the sky that was flying in an unusual direction from over the eastern hills and in my direction. I work a lot in the area and airplanes and helicopters never fly in that northeast to southwest direction, so I watched it. As it got overhead, the bright "headlights" turned out to be six white lights in a triangle shape on the underside. As it passed overhead, I also saw that the back two white lights, and also a red light in the rear middle, were blinking on and off.

It was about the length and width of two fingers at arms reach and took about eight minutes to cover a distance of maybe five to seven miles. It seemed to move slowly, meandering in an S pattern, south, then west, then south again before I lost sight of it behind some trees.

As it moved almost out of sight to the southwest I then noticed airplane "headlights" moving underneith it by about a distance of seven times the size of the object flying northward in a strait and normal direction of flight.

I am a California licensed private investigator and was on a surveillance at the time.

First one, then two bright white objects hovering motionless and varying in brightness.

On my way home from dropping off my son at the bus stop I noticed a bright white light in the sky. At first I figured it was just an airplane with the sun reflecting off it. However, as I neared my home I noticed it was still there and still glowing. I stopped my car and watched it. It was not moving as I would expect from an airplane. It was hovering stationary and was changing in brightness. It got very bright, then would dim a little, but it did not move. I watched for a few minutes and then just below and to the right of it, a second bright white object appeared. Both objects maintained their positions and glowed brightly then less so back and forth. I rushed down the hill to get my wife to come have a look but they had gone by the time we got back outside.

Meteor-like object seen while watching an Iridium flare.

According to Heavens Above, a very bright (-8 magnitude) flare from Iridium 49 was visible from my location. It was to be seen in the ENE at 39 degrees elecation, starting at 22:06:06. The distance of the flare center from my location was 2.7 km.

The flare (a reflection of the sun) came right on time, but because my eyes were fixed on a spot a little higher up and a little further north, I missed the beginning of the flare. I did catch it in the corner of my eye and looked directly at it when it was at its brightest. The flare was quite spectacular but it faded quickly. The duration of the flare was no more than 2 to 3 seconds.

Less than 2 seconds after the flare had faded from view, a bright and very fast moving light came from the north, heading south. It flew horizontally less than 5 degrees below where the flare had been. I saw the moving light first in that location and followed it until it was obscured by a tree. The entire event lasted no more than 2 seconds.

The object (light) had the general appearance of a meteor but it looked like no meteor I had ever seen and I have seen my share of them. Besides, meteors do not fly parallel to the ground. The head was about the diameter of three Jupiters (or about 2 arc minutes in angular size. The front was convex and the back was concave. Two very thin "streamers" came off the end points on the concave end. The color of the light was white with a yellowish tint. It remained steady in intensity over the brief duration.

I estimated the angular distance between the location of the Iridium flare (and the appearance of the object) and where the tree blocked the object as about 45 degrees. The object traversed that distance in 1.5 seconds. These facts give the object an angular speed of 30 degrees per second. That it ten times faster than the Space Shuttle flying over CA for a landing in FL, and 60 times faster than the angular speed of the ISS (International Space Station) when it passes overhead.

The brief duration of my observation leaves me with the impression that the object was not at a very high altitude, although I have no facts to support that impression. If the object was as low as 10 000 feet, my calculations show that it flew at a speed of 1.26 miles/second, or more than 4500 miles/hour. If it was at any higher altitude, its speed would have been proportionately faster.

Then there is the element of coincidence that I find difficult to accept. How can two visually spectacular but otherwise totally unrelated events occur in the same patch of sky at essentially the same time. What are the odd?? What did I see. Can someone enlighten me?

I went outside with my 15 year old daughter and her friend, and my daughter pointed out the lights in the sky. We were going to bang pots and pans for the new year and stopped to look at the lights in the sky. We watched the lights for about 5 min. till they left and pointed the lights out to my neighbor.

Saw a very bright light on an unusual course moving at relatively low altitude without making a sound.

While walking my dog before going to bed, I noticed a bright light that was rapidly approaching from the east heading in a north-westerly direction. The elevation at that point was about 30 degree. The light was a bright yellowish-white that was brighter and larger than the ISS when it is directly overhead. There was a small strobe light to the lower right of the larger light slightly detached, that was flashing in about 1 second intervals. The motion of the light was smooth like the ISS but it was going more than twice as fast as the typical speed of the ISS.

The light moved along a left-handed long sweeping turn. When it passed to the north of my position, it was at an elevation of about 70 degrees. It continued to a point at about 50 degree elevation in the north-west. At that point, the craft must have made a course correction by making a smooth but easily noticeable turn to the south-west. As it came out of this turn, the light increased in brightness by a factor of three or four for about 2 to 3 seconds. It was by far the brightest light in the sky at that moment. It then went briefly very dim for about 2 seconds as if something structural was obscuring the light source but I could still see the glow of the light behind it. It then brightened again for about 2 seconds to the intensity it had been when it passed to the north of me. The light and even the glow then totally disappeared and all I could see the was the strobe plus a fainter strobe nearby that was about 1/2 second out of synch with the first strobe. When they receded, the strobes has a reddish hue. I was able to follow them until the object disappeared over the roof of a house heading due south. The elevation was then about 30 degrees.

The entire affair from first seeing it and then losing sight of it lasted no more than one minute. There was absolutely no sound, even when it made the turn south and it seemed fairly close at that point. There may have been other, fainter lights but I could not clearly see them because I was in an area where there were several bright street lights.

When I got home, I checked "Heavens Above" and found that the ISS will not be visible in my area until August 7th. Envisat was scheduled to be visible about 15 minutes after my observation at a trajectory SE50-ENE72-N10 at a maximum magnitude of 2.9 which is about as bright as Envisat gets. I have seen it many times and there was no comparision to the light I saw. The light I saw was at least a minus 4 or brighter.

No other satellites were listed as being visible to me at that time. I have no idea what I saw. If it was a conventional jet, I should have heard a sound, since it didn't seem to be very high in altitude. This fact was confirmed by the ease with which I could follow the strobes to such a low elevation.

Bright White/ blue sphere moved away into darkness of sky

Standing outside on unlit street, a bright white light appeared at about 40 degrees above horizon to the West. After a few seconds the object started moving nearly directly away (slightly upward) and shrank smaller until not visible. It moved straight into the darkness of the sky and did not return. As it moved parts of the object turned blue color in addition to the white light. Total duration was about 30 seconds.

There were two witnesses to event. It was a very clear July night in Sonoma county in northern California. Lots of stars were easily visible. Object initially appeared and looked many times larger than the brighest stars. As the object moved away its appearance shrunk to a pinpoint size and then was gone.

Stationary Spherical Light 1 Hour Duration over Santa Rosa NM

My friend and I are currently on vacation. We are from Ohio and have been travelling cross country.

On May 18th, 2005 we spent the day in New Mexico taking pictures. At approximately 7:30 p.m. in the evening we were driving on Route 40 towards Santa Rosa, New Mexico and both witnessed an unusually bright object in the Southeast sky.

Out of a burning curiosity, we drove towards the object and eventually pulled over to photograph it. We took several still photos with a Nikon CoolPix 8700 camera. Initially, my friend insisted that it must be Venus, but upon further observation we determined that it was too large, too bright, and not where Venus should have been.

The object looked much like an extremely large, bright star. It remained stationary for about an hour and then seemed to "fade away," or possibly was covered by clouds.

We inspected the photos we had taken and then blew them up in photoshop. The enlarged images reveal an object that was split in two-- or, possibly, two spherical objects.

We have looked all over the internet in an attempt to discover what we just witnessed and have found similar sightings. Unfortunately, no one seems to know what it is. Hopefully, someone out there will be kind enough to enlighten us-- if that is possible. We will post our photos to this site.

Star-like light in the Eastern sky that came & went - Santa Rosa, California

My dog work me up at about 5:30 am, and I was looking out the window trying to get back to sleep. A light, that looked like a very bright star zipped up where I could see it above a neighbors rooftop, however it looked as though it was pretty far away, like an airplane. It went slowly higher in the Eastern sky for about 10-15 minutes, and I woke up my daughter to see it. It slowly went east bound and disappeared out of view. I figred it must have been a sattelight, or something like that, but then it came back! It hung around for a while, but then I fell back asleep after watching it for about 15 minutes. I have no idea what it could have been.

September 29, 2004 (from FAA logbook entry) Occurred during a night flight, as pilot, aircraft: PA-28 Approximately 10pm, 6500ft, west of Santa Rosa (KSTS), over the coast - unlimited visibility, had just looked west for jets, east for jets, south for jets, listening to Oakland Center.

All quiet.

Suddenly, BIG BLUE LIGHT at my 10 o'clock, flashing past the nose and off out over the ocean to my 2 o'clock. 2-3 seconds total.

Instinctually, I slammed the yoke forward and turned hard right.

At the same time I thought...

I JUST LOOKED and there was nothing? HOW could I could have missed a jet's landing light? WHY is there a jet at 6500 feet traveling west here? (it's not on any flight path that I know of) It's too late to "dive" out of the way, I'm going to get hit by turbulence no matter what..... then, I didn't get physically hit? Hey, if it's a landing light, how can I could still see it as it winked out over the ocean? This made no sense.

On first impression, a jet and the bright light I saw was the landing light - then thinking about it, No - it couldn't be a landing light - I could see it as it went away from me.

a meteor, A luminescent blue meteor? But, it didn't "get dim" over the ocean, it just "winked out". making me think: no smoke trail. How could it be a meteor? I couldn't figure out exactly how close it was - but, it appeared at my 10 o'clock and went over the ocean at about my 2 o'clock - and it was only visible for 2-3 seconds. So - it had to be darned close. If I had to guess, less than 200 feet. Maybe 6 to 10 feet long, 4-5 feet wide and 1-2 feet thick. Or maybe 100 feet and it would be a bit smaller.

No wind turbulence, no sound.

Weirdest thing I've seen.

I can't help thinking that some ET teenager swiped the keys to the saucer when the parents were out and went out with his buddy's for a night of ET style "cow tipping"......

btw: I was so shocked that I couldn't talk enough to call Oakland Center (ZOA).......
