I have a window that looks up at the sky, in my bathroom. I was looking out and saw the object come into view and travel past, pretty fast. It looked like a bright white sphere, in a clear sky. It was traveling East. It was around 9:30 AM. I am positive it was not a bird, balloon, or traditional aircraft. It was very distinct. I have never seen anything like it.

From Banning, looking south, I saw a light that I first thought was a cabin in the mountains nearby. the light was still not moving. A few seconds later I saw what appeared to be small lights circling below the light above. This lasted for maybe 1 second. then the grew less bright and seemed to move in a western direction.

I figured it was probably a plane but it was moving very slow. At times not moving at all. Then the light started changing colors, sometimes flashes of Red Lights sometimes white lights but it would be the whole light not a part of the light. It stood still for a several minutes as the lights got dimmer and dimmer, until it was no longer visible to me. The whole thing lasted between 10-12 minutes.

Witnessed dark grey cylinder shaped object (traveling West to East) during the Lunar eclipse.

Witnessed a dark grey cylinder shaped object with (2) black circular shapes underneath through binoculars while looking at the moon during the Lunar eclipse. It passed through my field of view very quickly.

I looked with naked eye but couldn't see it. I was able to track its path and see it through binaculars again.

It was quiet, no lights and moving at a high rate of speed from West to East.

Total event time approx. 10-15 seconds.

Meteor-like object seen to accelerate and ascend.

At approximately 2100 hours I went outside and looked west into a clear evening sky. Visibility was excellent. There was a ¾ moon overhead. I was looking WSW and saw, approaching from the west, two sets of lights which I assumed were transiting aircraft as this area is a busy air traffic corridor. Flight separation between the two was approximately 2000 ft. I quickly discerned that the lead, faster moving object was NOT a normal aircraft. It appeared to be a slow moving meteor. There was a bright light emanating from the nose and a whitish orange fan-shaped "tail" coming from the aft of the craft. The movement was steady to slightly accelerating. I figured the craft was at 2-4 thousand feet AGL.

This strange craft overtook the other set of lights which was, by all appearances, a small general aviation craft such as a Cessna 172. I say that by the pattern of the anti-smash lights and the familiar drone of the engine and also the approach path as it appeared inbound to the local airport.

I continued to observe the "slow meteor" as it approached and noticed the fan-shaped tail took on an orange to greenish hue. If my guess to altitude is correct I’d estimate ths corona-like tail was 2-3 hundred yards in length. The fan shape of the tail was oriented vertically and the width of this plume was narrow. The color was something like mixing a sodium vapor lamp and the color of copper being burned. There was no pulsing or flashing.

After 10 seconds of watching, and as it approached it seemed to accelerate and begin ascending. Then the nose and tail lights extinguished. I SAW the object at CPA (I was facing due South at its closest point of approach). It was no more than a mile to the south of where I stood. It was small, dark and obloid, or, football shaped.

Suddenly it emitted a brief puff of hazy orange light and accelerated to an incredible speed while slowly ascending. It was out of eye-sight within a quarter second after that.

It made no sound. This was unsettling to me as I would have expected to hear it as this mountain pass area traps and funnels noise quite readily.

The total sighting lasted 20-30 seconds. I have to assume that the general aviation pilot saw what I saw and I’m writing this in hopes of corroborating stories. If it WAS a meteor I’d like to report an ascending meteor.

A little background on myself: I was a Naval Aircrewman for 21 years. I flew in several airframes and have thousands of flight hours of experience. I’ve seen many strange things while flying and my share of meteors. I am not taken to having flights of fancy. I was fatigued but sober and otherwise in a calm state of mind.

strange light moving back and forth until it disapper; lasted for 30 seconds.

Around 3:50am, I was heading southbouth on hardgrave when I looked to my left (east of banning) when I saw a moving object! I first though it was a star but realized that it was moving back and forth twice. After moving back and forth twice, it lost its brightness and just disappear! The color was like a flash light color that dimmed in nand out until it disappear. It was not a star nor an airplane!

Observed several egg shaped objects. The first appeared on the western horizon around 10 pm PST. we were able to observe the craft for at least one hour. After watching this particular craft another appeared from the north and passed directly behind the other moving south the second object continued moving south, south west decinding into the horizon. Both objects appeared to flash and pulse colors continously with two intense bright circles on the top of the egg shape. We noticed several more of them to the north west but were further away. The first object continued to move west until out of view. None of the objects made any noise. Completely silent motion.

A structure of lights, resembling the Phoenix Lights, appeared near Banning & Morongo, California on 01/23/02 at 1910 hrs.

I live up the hill on Bluff Street in Banning, California...coming down the hill in our truck, my wife pointed out a pattern of lights that resembled the Phoenix Lights. There were 6 to 7 lights in that similiar pattern, with the pattern tilted about 5 degrees from level. I could that this, whatever it was, was very low in altitude...approximately about 1,500 feet or so (using the mountains in the background as a guide to aiding altitude and distance). The object was approximately, based on diatnce with respect to the mountains (object in front of the mountains), looked about on the order of 1 mile across, perhaps, even bigger in size. It was enormous. After watching the object for some minutes, I decided to move down the hill to try and get a better look. The object may have, initially, been sighted near the Indian Casino off the 10 freeway...Morongo Casino is the name of the place it appeared to be closest...in morongo. Now in the time I took to drive a few hundred feet or so down the hill (which took me only approximately 10-15 seconds)...we saw that it had moved...very fast from where it was first sighted. It now appeared to be very close if not over the Palm Springs International Airport (they had to see whatever the hell this thing was...absolutely no mistake about it). We lost sight of it after this time. The lights were of a goldish, coppery color...very distinct...could not miss this object. Time of sighting was about 1910 to 1920 hours. The sky conditions were absolutely clear...unlimited visibility.

I am a ((personal information deleted/public servant)). I am also able to distinguish between weather phenomena, different types of civilian and military aircraft...this resembled nothing we have...trust me! I have reported the facts as observed. A young woman was driving eastbound on Highway I-10 near Banning and Idlewild, CA. It was dark when she left home at 0400 hours, on 09JN96, and she had noted the moon in the eastern sky, so she knew what that celestial body looked like.

At 0500 hrs., she noticed a "slice of light" above a nearby mountain top. It was bright, "like a star." She continued to watch the object for an estimated 35 minutes (approx. 40 miles), and the object appeared to stay in the same location.

She noted that whe was about the only vehicle on the highway, except for a truck that was behind her, "approximately 2 miles."

Then, the left side of the bright object blinked twice (she thought), and the whole object turned black, or perhaps gray. However, the object remained stationary, and the "core part" of it appeared to the observer to be round. She also added that the object looked like a "sideways Vee." (?)

The object remained stationary during this part of her sighting. However, when the object was abreast of her, off to the left (?) side, it suddenly disintegrated and disappeared, like an "etch-a-sketch."

She believes she witnessed a UFO as a teenager.

My son and I saw two triangular craft hovering about 100 feet above the roadway.

The two objects were hovering approximately 100 feet in the air and were absolutely silent. We could see the entire shape was made up of rectangular pieces with something that looked like rivets holding them together. There was a huge white light in the center and the light came straight down without diffusing outward. The objects were black. One of the objects was a little higher that the other but close. I estimate the size to be about the size of three small fixed wing aircraft. Although we were about one quarter of a mile from the Interstate 10 freeway right next to the Banning airport, all the ambient sounds dissapeared. We were afraid to start our vehicle and sat there watching about one block away from the two objects. All of a sudden both craft went upward, the lights on both craft went out and without a sound disappeared into the sky. I was 42 years old and my son was 14 years old. I had just picked him up from little league practice. I first noticed the light when I was backing out of my driveway to pick him up. I lived about one and one quarter mile North of the airport at that time and noticed the light.
