An object moving through the sky then disappearing

The object in the sky moved laterally, with no exhaust, and was smaller than an airplane. It was maybe one to two miles away from us. As we observed it in the sky it turned at an angle and seemed to reflect the Setting Sun and there was a flash of light on the side of the object. Immediately after that flash of light the object disappeared. There were no clouds that it would have disappeared behind, nor any other objects. It was a clear sky and we had a clear view of the object.

Bright shiny metallic sphere moving slowly for 1 minute and stopping suspended for 2 min

Upon climbing the steps from my home to the street above I spotted a highly reflective, shiny metallic sphere approximately 500+ yards in the blue sky drifting slowly south over the hill just east of the ocean. The object made no sound that I could hear and left no trail. As I watched, it stopped after about 1 min of slow drift and stayed stationary as I watched for another couple of minutes. I then retreated to my house to grab my binoculars and it had disappeared. The wind was moderate onshore to the east with scattered low clouds.

unusually bright aircraft-like light that suddenly dimmed

As I was returning to the house after walking the dog, I noticed a light which I assumed was an airplane traveling overhead. It was moving from the SW to the NE at a speed and altitude I normally associate with our usual air traffic. Nevertheless, something seemed odd about it although I couldn’t pinpoint exactly what that was. I let the dog in, grabbed binoculars, and crossed through the house to the backyard. I easily picked up the object on the same trajectory, which made me think again that it was an airplane. However, when I looked with binoculars I could not make out the body of an aircraft or any blinking lights. I could only see a very bright, bluish-white light with a smaller, dimmer, reddish light on the upper right side/edge of the bright light. The bluish-white light appeared circular, with the smaller red light located along the perimeter at a 1 o’clock position. As I watched, waiting to glimpse a blinking navigation light, it seemed to me that the white light was too bright. The intensity reminded me of the rocket that passed by here on November 7, 2015. This light was not nearly that spectacular, but the quality of the light seemed similar (magnesium-like), if that makes any sense. Then as I was tracking it eastward, the bluish-white light appeared to grow even brighter and more intense. As I was puzzling about this, the bluish-white light began to rapidly dim until it extinguished, leaving only the barely visible reddish light which then also disappeared. The entire time it had maintained a steady speed and it appeared to track at a consistent altitude and in the same (NE) direction. The brightness followed by the rapid fading out reminded me of a flare, except that this object was traveling horizontally, was moving more slowly, and remained visible for a much longer amount of time than the maritime flares I have seen. For the same reasons, it also did not appear to be a meteor. I scanned the skies for 10-! 15 minutes longer but never saw any additional sign of the obj! ect. Several small aircraft did fly overhead during this time, following the more typical aircraft routes from S to N/ N to S. Also, I did not hear any engine noise associated with the object, but did hear the noise of the planes that passed overhead minutes later. Skies were clear with no moonlight.

Craft, red, green & orange light moved with bursts of speed erratically sped & side to side, went dark threw off sparks, disappeared.

Red green and orange lights, craft, hellacopter? Traveled erratically at 15000 ft with small bursts of movement forward and slightly from side to side and moved north west over the ocean to the south. It would go dark from time to time throw off balls of light that resembled sparks. It through off one last ball of light and it went dark and vanished. No falling AC or flames...just gone.

A round orb with flashing lights near Highway 1 coming into Morro Bay.

My girlfriend and I were driving home from a movie in San Luis Obispo. At Cuesta College we saw an obscure yellow light in the distance. As we got closer and closer, we could make out that the light was moving. When we could see the Morro Bay smoke stacks in front of us, the aircraft flew overhead, across the highway. It was an orb-like shape with many flashing lights on it. It wasn't that far overhead, and it wasn't moving as quickly as a normal craft. We pulled off to the side of the road and saw the craft fly over the mountain on the other side of the highway.

a stationary white bright light north of Morro Bay gradually dimmed and disappeared

I am a former commercial pilot. A bright light was seen at 12 o'clock (north), at a 15 degree angle above the horizon. At first glance, the light looked liked the very bright landing light of an airplane, but it did not move. The light gradually got dimmer and dimmer and I lost sight of it. It maintained its hovering position during the observation.

A duration of 30 minutes seems clearly to rule out a landing light on an approaching airliner. We do not know what the witness observed. PD

Five lighted craft in formation investigating Morro Bay electric generating plant. Six witnesses.

I am not sure of the exact date or time but it was in the summer of 1968 and in the early evening/late afternoon.

My friends and I were driving up Perfumo Canyon Road to visit friends who lived on top of the mountain. Perfumo Canyon Road begins in San Luis Obispo and winds up the mountain until it reaches the top, then it descends downward on the other side to near Avila Beach, California. At the time of the sighting there were only two residences at the top of the mountain. My friends had no electricity but had a gas water heater and a windmill.

At certain points in the drive, which is made up of hairpin turns and sharp angles, one can get a view of the coastline stretching north from the point of Cayucos California to Grover City in the south. At the point where we saw these craft we had a view with Morro Bay and the towers of the electricity generating plant almost directly in the middle of our view.

What we saw were five lights. They were at a considerable distance and no shape could be discerned. This happened during the early evening and the light can only be described as bright yellowish. We all saw the lights and were quite shocked and immediately stopped the car. One of our members was so excited that he actually pushed down on the handle of the car, I think we were in my 1955 Buick, but can't remember. Anyway, he fell out of the car.

The five lights were in an obvious formation, three were in an absolutely straight line, waiting on the other two. One was directly over the Morro Bay power plant, the other was headed in a downward direction. We got the impression that they were either refueling using energy from the plant or were curious and were taking samples. We watched them for a while and then got our friend back into the car and proceeded up the mountain. When our car came around the sharp hairpin turn they must have seen our lights because the two that were down by the plant immediately zoomed up to the other three and in a perfect line they left the earth in a parabolic curve. They vanished in a matter of seconds at an incredible rate of speed and obviously did not want to be seen.

We were all very young at this point in time but all credible. We all saw the same thing.

Around July or August of 1964, I was in Morro Bay for summer vacation ( I was a teenager at this time). At about 9PM, was out on the beach. Saw triangular shaped object, very large, out to the west of the coast, moving from north to south. This object was silent. A smaller object, which resembled an airplane, was "following" the triangular shaped object and was darting back and forth at the rear of the object (I think it was a military aircraft). My father is an aircraft mechanic and FAA inspector. I have grown up around airplanes and have a better than average knowledge of aircraft (both military and civilian) and have never seen anything like this object. A few days after viewing this object, I had the opportunity to speak with the gentlemen who manned the radar station at Cambria/San Simeon. I told him what I saw and asked if he had seen these objects on his radar screen that evening, but he said nothing at all had shown up on his radar screen that night.
