Tumbling cylinder with bright reflections or lights

We were in outside enjoying the nice weather this afternoon and saw a cylinder tumbling end over end. It was moving from east to west towards O'Hare while the wind and clouds were moving in the opposite direction from west to east. One of us thought it was a dark color, had a flashing light, and had some sort of disturbance/distortion around it in the shape of a ball. The other person thought it was brown and was reflecting the sun in a blinking fashion as it tumbled. It moved fairly quickly at first and then stayed in place for a bit before being obscured by clouds. By the time the clouds blew by, it was no longer there.

I seen in the past objects in the sky while I was in California a crystal sphere appeared at my bedroom window a flash of bright light like a flashlight when I pull back the blinds to investigate it as if someone had taken a picture of me And it flew away

Solid metal offset stacked flat cylinders over lake Michigan watching over Chicago

I saw it and was stunned for a couple seconds, literally burst out with "what the heck was that?" And I heard at least one other person react like they saw it with a whoa. Meant to ask pilot if he saw when I got off the plane. I have excellent vision and hard blinked just to be sure. Could have been stationary in air or moving slowly east, but plane over took. Saw for about 5 seconds total but didn't start taking out camera until too late as we passed it. Seemed mostly stationary but rotated once. Looked like solid metal, there was a weight to it, maybe the size of a little kid. Solid polished metal. A bit like two old school film reels stacked on top of one another in a tall way but offset a bit and the bottom half was a bit more trapezoidal/geometric rather than circular. As I passed there was way more bright zippy things in the air like ionization almost, kind of like stars you might see when you rub your eyes, but it was faint overall.

Viewed several mostly stationary orbs hovering just above lake Michigan roughly 1 mile from shore

I observed at least 4 orbs / spheres of yellow-ish emitting a bright, pale-yellow light roughly 1 mile offshore from Lake Michigan.

The objects were closer than the Chicago water filtration cribs, which are 2 miles offshore, but exact distance hard to determine. I'm estimating a distance of approximately 1 mile.

The orbs seemed to pulse / flicker and disappear and reappear at random times. Some drones moved, others appeared stationary. Objects were low and my position was elevated from the water by about 25 feet, so angle of elevation was almost head-on. I'd estimate it at about 12-15 degrees.

I'd estimate at the lowest point, the drones were no more than 100-200 feet above the water. Several pulsed and emitting much brighter light at times, before pulsing down again or spontaneously disappearing. The video attachment shows only part of the event, but a clear demonstration of movement and the "pulsing" motion.

I was walking west 95th, when a bright white chevron 50x faster than a jet flew south 4 secs before disappearing in clear night sky.

I was walking westbound 95th Street passing South Yale when I see a bright white shape fly south with a slightly eastbound tilt for 4 seconds, at inhuman speeds, then INSTANTLY disappearing into the clear night sky. It did not "fade out" like a transition, it disappeared like magic.

This is chicago, there are no mountains, and on the south side of Chicago there are no tall buildings.

I have traveled the country, and I have also traveled the world with my late, Emmy award-winning Father. Sweden, cancun, germany, london, dubai, Oman Kuwait, Japan, I am CERTAIN what I saw is what they used to call Ufos.

I never even believed in UFOs until I saw it with my own eyes an hour ago at around 9:35 p.m. Central Time.

Saw weird shaped object moving and flashing lights

I was reading in my bedroom with the shades drawn and heard a rumbling noise. We often have helicopters flying above us for tracking crimes but this sounded different. I also knew it could not be snow ploughs but the sounds were moving around above the house like a helicopter would. My daughter came to my room ten minutes after I first heard the sounds and said she saw something weird out of her window. I went to her room and we both saw a craft coming left and right above the building across from us. I was surprised because it flashed several red lights on the underside then green lights then white. It then went out of our view. I asked my daughter to grab my phone and I tried to film it as it came back across our sight again left and right. It was not moving like a plane and did not have blades like a helicopter would. After another 5 minutes the sound left and did not return. My daughter then told me it was torpedo shaped and could not have been a plane or helicopter because she saw it flying in loops above the building across the road from us before she called me. My video shows something with multiple lights but does not capture what we both saw with our eyes. I do not know what this craft was but it was not like any plane or helicopter I have seen.

3 dull orange in a loose triangle formation moving west at half the speed of inbound airplanes to O Ohare

Sometime between 9.30 PM and 10PM, I looked up in the sky, from the back apartment porch, in a south south west direction, and saw either 2 or 3 dull orange orbs in a loose triangle formation that slightly altered their configuration around each other but maintained a United formation as they moved westbound slowly at approximately 2/3 the speed of a typical inbound aircraft approaching Ohare airport approximately 8 miles away. A few other aircraft were nearby and made their usual noise, thus I could not tell whether this orb formation emitted any noise or not.

There was a thin blanket of cloud above the object.

As soon as I saw the object, I got up to observe it better and I immediately was intrigued by the unusual nature of it. I observed this for a few seconds, then as it drifted out of sight past the tall building situated right next to ours, I immediately ran up the steps up to a higher porch deck to get a better view of the formation object in the western sky toward Ohare, but these orbs had faded out of view by then. Each of the 2 or 3 orbs were the same size and each orb was aprox 1/4th the size of a full moon, however as a collective formation, they were aprox 4 times the size of a full moon. Incidentally, the moon, in its 3/4 waxing phase, was nearby almost due south. The formation was approximate 70 degrees elevation upon first spotting it. The moon was visible among the light thin bank of cloud above. The objects appeared to be 2000-3000ft above ground level

6 bright lights over downtown Chicago, and a 7th flew by as well

Sighted 6 round lights in the Chicago airspace. They were in a clump and then started moving about each other moving westerly. They moved slowly towards the west and spread out for about 7 minutes and then they started going towards the East. The 6 orbs/lights appeared to go out over Lake Michigan. After about 20 minutes they were difficult to see. Something flew near the lights north to south. Didn’t look like a plane but not sure. Was bright as well.

Hovering at 300 degrees NW, the object flew toward 141 degrees SE. The object hovered, flew, rotated, rolled, lit up and split into 2.

We are in northern Chicago, below Skokie and Evanston. We first witnessed the object hovering at about 300 degrees NW. It was low enough we could discern some definition of the objects - it was white and had rotating lights. It also seemed to roll in the air. It began to move toward about 220 degrees SW, as it located, the object continued to light up and rotate, staying at about the same altitude. Eventually, it pivoted and flew toward 141 degrees SE, increasing altitude slightly. However, as it moved, it rotated more and seemed to split into two, each well lit. The object came back together but continued to rotate and roll. At another point, it seemed to split into at least two more vessels, each very well lit with light speed increasing quickly enough it looked like a Fourth of July sparkler. It came back together, and continued to spin and light up until it disappeared.

As a singular event, it can be rationalized as some sort of debris, but the similarities to the second citing warrant further investigation.

Ellipsoid-shaped reflective UFO gliding at high speed over the University of Chicago

What at first appeared to be a drone emerged into my sightline as I was sitting on the fifth floor of the Regenstein Library. As I put on my glasses, it didn't appear to be any kind of drone I knew. The UFO was metallic, almost a silver color, with a darker line in between the top and the bottom of the oval-shaped chassis. I was in the Air Force for six years, and would consider myself to be a professional plane-spotter. This was not an aircraft that I am familiar with. It moved similarly to a helicopter or drone, but had no propellers or engines that were visible. It moved fairly fast, at what I'd estimate to be 350 knots. I pulled out my phone to take a single photograph, which thankfully is a live photo (a short 2 second video), but the UFO was gone before I got a second one. As the UFO was moving, it was spinning in the air, which is visible in the photo. There appears to be a small beam in front of the UFO, but it may appear to be something pulling it along. As you can see in the picture, the sky was incredibly clear with few clouds.

Fireball lights that moved in sky then disappeared behind the night sky

I was sitting on my bed when i looked at my security camera and noticed circular lights on the screen. At first i thought they were fireflies but the lights appeared to be at a further distance. I got up and looked out my bedroom window on the second floor and witnessed what appeared to be fireballs in the sky but they were moving. I immediately woke my husband up and told him to look at the sky, “i think i see UAPs”. He looked and said, “Yeah, that does look strange”. I then ran to another window fully facing east and saw the orange lights flicker then ascend behind the night clouds. I believe my neighbor’s guests witnessed it too because they had a drone flying, looking East. I also noticed an aircraft flying high in the direction of the lights before they disappeared but this could not be caught in the camera. I reviewed my security camera that captured the lights moving as well as one light that appeared to shoot upwards after appearing to be close to the ground. When I rewinded the footage it appears that the sky flashed like an impending lightning then a few minutes later the lights appeared. Perhaps the flash was when they entered the atmosphere. I noticed there was another sighting tonight caught on the security camera, this time at 20:25pm. There were only two crafts this time.

MASSIVE triangle shaped object with a light in the center, "hiding" behind dark clouds.

(FYI, this is taken form a post I made on Reddit. Just wanted you to know in case you stumble upon that. This was not stolen from that post. I am the same person who posted it. I only took the parts describing the encounter and the object)

It was cloudy, but not too dark at the time. Kind of like just starting to rain / snow (mostly rain at this point, with a bit of freezy nonsense in the mix). I've been making a point to pay more attention to the sky for the last several years as I've been getting into this topic. I've never to this point seen ANYTHING out of the ordinary. I've barely seen anything ORDINARY in the sky that was interesting (Chicago is not great if you want to see things at night). There was a gap in the clouds that was fairly close to the horizon, and I was following the gap as it was moving with the clouds. The gap ended up revealing about 2/3 of a triangle shaped object that looked to have been hiding behind the clouds. It was either white or a very light silver/grey color and had a light in the center of it. After about 5 seconds of the clouds slowly revealing the entirety of it, the whole thing moved in a straight line down and to the left, putting itself behind the clouds again. That was it. The whole thing took about 10 seconds total. Just long enough to get a VERY good look at it, but not quite long enough to do more than loudly exclaim "what the F*** is that?" which I did, loudly, to myself.

I wanted to get the encounter out of the way before describing it in detail, because the encounter itself sounds pretty mundane. There's a bit more to it.

The cloud gap was near the horizon, and this thing filled the ENTIRE cloud gap. In fact, it did this even though I couldn't see the entire thing. It's very hard to accurately describe just how massive this thing was. I'm confident that it could not have been an airplane unless it was a straight up hallucination (which of course I'd never rule out, I've just never in my life had that happen, so it'd seem a bit odd). It didn't look twice or even 3 times the size of a 747, the thing looked about half the size of the Chicago skyline. The size of it is why I just can't believe that it was something mundane. There is nothing I've ever seen in my life, on TV/media/whatever or in person, that ever came CLOSE to that and was airborne.

Now, what did it look like? I said triangle, but that's not EXACTLY right. It was a triangle, but it was thicker in the middle than on the edges; not by a whole lot though. The odd thing is that it seemed like I was looking at the bottom, but somehow I could also see the thickness of it as if I were looking at it from the bottom and the side at the same time. I would say the color of it would have matched the clouds IF the clouds were white and not dark from the rain. The light in the center was interesting too, because even though I've seen pictures of what appear to be physical UFO's with lights, this didn't look at all like the pictures I've seen. This looked like a dome light in a house. Like the light was recessed into the object and the edges of the recession were rounded. The light was massive as well; it absolutely dwarfed the moon (not that it was bigger than the moon, just that it appeared larger at that great of a distance, meaning it was HUGE). The light just kind of emitted out of the hole, and it wasn't very bright.

Last thing I wanted to mention is how it moved. It did not move like an airplane. It was absolutely still when the clouds revealed it, then it sort of shifted out of view. It didn't turn or rotate, but it was like it was sliding. Like if an object were sitting on ice, and you pushed it from a dead stop. It was also interesting because I thought I was looking at the bottom of it, which would mean that it was at a pretty decent angle, as I was not directly under it but driving toward it on the highway and it was very far away. It didn't seem to do any adjustment to its heading or position, it just "slid" behind the clouds.

In addition to this, but not related directly to the craft itself. I had an uncle who passed away about 10 years ago, and at his funeral, his brother played and sang the Beetles song "Here Comes the Sun". For 10 years, I had skipped that song when it came on the radio and turned it off if it popped up on a playlist somehow. I just couldn't listen to it without crying. IMMEDIATELY before I had my sighting, I listened to this song for the first time since then, and while I teared up a bit, I felt more happy than sad this time. Either way, there were some very strong emotions going on as a result. I don't know how notable that is, and it feels egotistical to think that my emotions could have any connection to this sighting, but at the same time it sure as heck feels that way.

Saw two craft, one approaching from the SW and another about 1500 ft away relatively close to my building.

Was in the midst of playing guitar and drumming and was exiting the bathroom when I went to go shut the window and blinds. The angle I was at gave me clear view of the 7/11 across the train tracks adjacent to my building. I saw a cigar shaped saucer with four lights on the underbelly of the craft, and a blue haze was being emitted from the underbelly. I was freaking out, yelling at my neighbor's to look out the window, and it stayed out until others went to observe, but it was still visible as it descended behind the building next to 7/11. It eventually disappeared and no one saw it fly away, but as we awaited it's departure, a second craft came in from the southwest and flew rather erratically and didn't fly like how I traditionally propelled aircraft would. The crafts also exhibited both horizontal and VTOL flight capabilities, with them seeming propelled by the propulsion source on the underside of the craft that emits a blue glow akin to the same glow emitted by uranium fuel rods when submerged in a cooling pool in a nuclear power plant, or like the glow of the tesseract in the Avengers film. A blue glow emanated from both craft's undersides.

An oval-like light shot across the sky from north to south within 3 seconds.

I was walking my dog down the sidewalk, around 12:40 am. I’m not sure of the exact time, but it was at some point between 12:30 and 12:50. The light was oval-shaped, but it was more like 2 curved lines that didn’t quite meet at the north and south ends. I was startled by how fast it was, faster than a commercial airplane. Within less than three seconds, the light was past my point of view. It also seemed too close to the ground, maybe a bit above the cloud line, to be a satellite. It was fairly cloudy, but not overcast, and all I could see of the object was the light. It was also quite windy, so I’m not sure if it made any sound. The light itself was a soft white, with a hint of yellow. It reminded me of a ring light, in terms of its brightness. It moved straight from north to south, until I couldn’t see beyond the tree line in the neighborhood. I’m not sure of its exact size, because I couldn’t tell how far away it was, but I would guess about the size of a plane. As for my own background, I’m a 30 year old woman. I wasn’t tired when this occurred, since I’m used to being up late, and I was sober.

Lights maneuvering rapidly at extreme altitude

On the evening of October 5th, 2023 at approximately 0400Z while flying a Citation Latitude business Jet from KTEB to KMDW, I noticed strange lights above our aircraft at approximately the 2 o'clock high position over the Lake Michigan area. We were cruising at FL430 and approximately Mach .76 when I noticed the lights; they appeared as stars but they were maneuvering rapidly, changing direction and speed in multiple planes of movement. There were approximately five lights and they would maneuver, change brightness (may have been directional lights pointing toward and away from us; unsure), and fly in what looked to be a repeated formation. This activity appeared to be cyclical in nature. This was very odd to me, as Starlink satellites and similar objects in an orbit do not change speed and direction in that manner. I observed it for several seconds before commenting to my Captain that he should take a look. He quickly gained sight of them and concurred that he had never seen anything like it. We estimated the objects altitude to be FL600 or above; it was difficult to tell as they appeared to be 50-100 miles away from us but they were definitely well above our altitude. Our position at the time of initial visual observation of the objects was east of the GSH navaid on the V451. The weather was completely clear at our altitude and above us with a layer of overcast clouds below at around FL300. The moon had not yet risen so the only lights in the sky were stars and other aircraft which were easily discernable and generally co-altitude or below us. While we could not explain the lights, I queried ATC as to whether there was any military activity in that area. They replied in the negative, so I asked more specifically if the R-6903 restricted area over Lake Michigan was active. They said that it was not. Neither my Captain nor myself could explain these lights, and we witnessed the activity for approximately 30 minutes before we began our descent into KMDW and had to focus on the arrival and approach. We discussed it as a crew and continued with our tour.

Approximately three days later, on the morning of October 9th at approximately 0730Z we saw the lights again while flying east from KSJC to KLUK. We were again at FL410 and in the proximity of Peoria, IL at the time of the sighting. My captain noticed the lights first (the same captain from the previous flight) and brought them to my attention. They were in the same general region, over the Great Lakes area. Multiple pilots had commented on the light coming from Venus on guard frequency (121.5) but it was quickly explained to them that it was a planet. I made a transmission on guard asking if anyone could see the strange lights we were witnessing and got several replies. Initially they were dismissed as Starlink, but once multiple pilots admitted to seeing them there was a consensus that it was not Starlink and no explanation was offered. Pilots discussing this phenomena switched to 123.45 frequency to avoid cluttering the guard frequency. At that point, one crew admitted to seeing these lights multiple times generally in the same area. One crew could see them from the Tennesee area and another crew was in a Gulfstream at FL450 closer to the lights and said they were well above their altitude. All in all, the lights were viewed by multiple professional pilots and none could offer any explanation for them. Again, we witnessed the lights for approximately 30 minutes until we began our arrival into Cincinnati. The weather was clear that night with a rising moon later in the flight.

I still have no explanation for what we saw. I have approximately 3000 hours of flight time in various aircraft, mostly military as I was an MV-22 pilot in the Marine Corps and was an instructor for Night Vision Device flying. I am aware of most atmospheric phenomena and have seen multiple Space X launches and satellites from both the ground and in flight. My Captain has over 20 years of flying experience. Neither of us had any explanation for the lights. I am confident what we saw would be classified as Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.

On September 1st, 2023 just after 5 PM and in sunlight, I was a passenger on AA flight #1614. My flight was westbound, after banking 180 degrees over Lake Michigan and upon final approach, I observed a smoky silver metallic object headed East, toward the lake, at a slightly lower altitude, approximately 300' North of AA#1614. I estimate the altitude to be 8-10,000'. We were South of Howard Street and the object was North of my flight. We were flying just west of the Evanston McDonald's restaurant on Howard Street.

The object was moving at around the same speed as my flight in the opposite direction. The front of the object appeared to be "cloaked" and had a bright rear red glow. The cloaking was almost pixelated, like "Predator" character (movie) in the front only. The object operated as if it was a low altitude satellite or a moving "aeronautical buoy" (as if such a thing existed). I saw it pass by our plane but it did not react to my flight's presence. I was seated in seat #30F. I had my window shade up, but most window shades were down on the right side of my flight. I did not report to flight crew. I told my family and friends. I have excellent long range vision, but could not completely focus on the front of the object. I could focus on rear red glow. This was not a drone/UAV. I was not viewing this through my plane's jetwash. I fly regularly for work and can identify landmarks on the ground with regularity. I will never forget what I saw.

We were driving back to our apartment from Costco and I noticed what I thought to be a plane. Looking closely I noticed it was round

My girlfriend and I had just finished shopping at Costco in the University Village in Chicago. Shortly leaving the store I noticed what I believed to be a plane from a distance. I assumed it was a plane because we see many planes land to OHare and Midway. However, looking more closely at the airplane I noticed that I was round and did not appear to look like a plane. I pointed out the object to my girlfriend while we were driving and she insisted that I record it. I filmed a couple of seconds of the craft before it became obstructed by a building near us. The craft seemed to be pretty far from us but zooming in on the video I noticed that the craft was clearly round. I don’t know if this was a drone or blimp because it appeared to be much larger and going much more fast.

Very brief sighting, object was hovering in the air stationary. Shining like a star, but in the daylight, clear skies. From the moment we saw it, it was only there for 10 secs or less. Multi-color orb hovering then shot off

I am entering this event from my childhood so I can learn if anyone else has had a similar experience.

My mother was sitting on our back porch having a cigarette one summer night when she witnessed an orb that changed colors hovering in the alley. It did not stay long and shot off at high speed.

I did not see it.

My room just so happened to be directly adjacent to where my mother was and on the 2nd story of the house.

There was a night when I was in my room and suddenly in my ears and in my head there was a piercing hum, the kind you would expect from a machine that a lay person would describe as generated by electronics. It go so bad I covered my ears and I ran out of my room.

I still remember this event from a long long time ago to this day.

Now what I cant say is that my experience and my mothers were on the same night. I wish we both would have communicated what we went thru. Connect the dots.

So the best I can hope for is to log this report just so maybe I could learn if in your database you have similar reports of someone experiencing 'electronic humming' while being confronted by a multi-color object?

I was stopped at an intersection when I saw a red glowing object hovering above. It hovered slowly behind a building and was gone.

The object was an unusual shape. There was a larger main object, oblong shaped with edges at different angles. There was a smaller object to it's right side, that wasn't shaped exactly the same. Extremely fast moving object seen moving towards Midway airport

An object was observed moving east to west across the night sky add an extremely high velocity. The location is very urban; near downtown Chicago. The object appeared as a point of light that I initially thought was a plane. It was moving so quickly it caught my eye and I looked up. It appeared to move in a straight line. I live in a place where I regularly see planes move from east to west, preparing for landing at Chicago Midway airport. This light was not following one of the typical plane paths that I see approach the airport. Since it was just a single point of solid whitish, blue light, I thought it might be a plane very high in altitude, but as I watched it move, I realized it was something much smaller and much closer to the ground. I cannot rule out a drone entirely, but the speed and distance seem to rule that out. The object was moving at a somewhat steep angle, seemed to come from quite high in the sky, and move towards midway airport in a descending motion approaching lower altitude. The sighting only lasted about two seconds. In that short amount of time I watched the object move from nearly above me to a great distance from me, perhaps closer to the airport. If I had to guess I would say the object was moving at the speed of miles per second. My guess based on google maps is that in those 2 seconds the object may have moved 3-5 miles. Its speed was constant and its direction did not change from a straight line. Estimating the objects altitude is tough for me, but roughly I would say it started a few hundred meters up in the sky, and where I lost sight it may have been only 100 or so meters in the sky. I lost sight of the object when it was blocked by other buildings on my immediate horizon. It could have been a piece of space debris falling to the ground, but most shooting stars I have seen are very quick wisps that move across the sky and disappear. Also, I have never seen a shooting star in the city. This object did not seem to fit that pattern. The object left no trail in the sky and was completely silent.

Orange object hovering above lake for approximately 1 min

First off, this is an estimation of the date as this happened a few years ago.
I went for a late night drive with my friend near the lakefront and parked my vehicle facing east overlooking the lake. When suddenly she looks up and asks what is that.

I look up to see a diamond shaped fireball floating perfectly in the sky above the lake and glowing bright orange like fire. The object also appeared to be slowly rotating while hovering perfectly in the sky. The size of the object was quite large appearing to be about a quarter size of the moon.

We continued to stare in disbelief and I decided to shine a flashlight at the object at which point the object rapidly shot up into the stars and disappeared.
My biggest regret is reaching for my flashlight and not my phone. To this day I'm still searching for answers and hoping to find someone who captures a similar object.

Downtown Chicago 3 bright lights hovering in night sky

From 10-11:30pm on 8/8/2022 we watched from our balcony on the 40th floor as 3 very large bright lights hovered back and forth in the sky. The lights were significantly bigger than airplanes and at first bright orange, we saw 3 then just 2. The lights turned a brighter white color, similar to that of a building white light or street lamp color. They moved elevation a lot, and disappeared for a few minutes and reappeared. The lights seemed to dip below the horizon and as soon as i looked away they were gone.

Witnessed a bright light in the sky before it seemed to go straight up and disappeared

Saw a bright light to the north west, seemed to be coming south east straight over ohare airport. It did not have any blinking marker lights light aircraft, made no sound, did not flicker like one of those lanterns that float away. This stayed the same brightness as it moved slowly across the sky. It was higher than the incoming aircraft but much to low and bright to be something in orbit. After reaching just about over our heads the object seemed to begin to slow and out of nowhere went straight up and disappeared. I checked flight trackers, satellite trackers everything I could think of and nothing was taking that flight path at that moment.

Pulsing light that appears to change shapes

My boyfriend and I were on his roof watching fireworks when I noticed a very bright light moving at a seemingly fast pace across the sky directly above James Russel Lowell Elementary. Fireworks had been going off in this same area above the school, so I was wondering if perhaps what I was seeing could have something to do with that. However, this light was so bright I, at first, believed it had to be an airplane or even a helicopter with a searchlight. After about a minute of watching the light, it appeared to slow its progression and remain in one area directly above the school while slightly moving back and forth. At this point my boyfriend took note of it, too, and I started recording on my phone. I zoom in on it a few times and it appears to have a circular shape with a distinct inner circle (that's the best way I can describe it). At about 15 seconds, I slowed the video down when the object/light is pulsing and took screenshots, and it seems to change shapes many times; the best way I can describe the most profound shape it took on (first image I will submit) is that of some sort of cell with an illuminated wall (or aura) surrounding it. About halfway through the video, you'll see that it seems to move downward, slowly at first, then drops rapidly out of our visibility behind the school. When slowing the video down, it appears as though it changes from a bright yellowish-white color to a red orb--it looks like not only the color changes, but it looks smaller in size, too, as it drops downward. I know this is not the best description, but in the images are very distinct, peculiar shapes, and I can't imagine what might produce this. If there is a logical explanation, like a drone, any kind of aircraft or otherwise, I would really like to know.

Closest major intersection to the incident / where we live is North & Kedzie. We are located just behind the school on Beach Ave. Attached is the video and a couple of screenshots, however, if you slow it down you should be able to see and capture a few other shapes as well. I took many photos and videos last night in the same area above the school if that might be helpful, or if there is anything else I can provide, I'd be more than happy to do so.

2 dots of light streaking to the northwest with unusual movement.

Sitting on the roof deck with an unusually clear sky, we were watching satellites quietly cross the heavens. Then i noticed 2 objects moving rapidly toward the northwest. the objects were moving back and forth in an elliptical motion. they traded places in the lead position without ever crossing. they traded places at a rate of approx. 1 sec.

i do not believe this was within the earth's atmosphere the sun was clearly hitting them, as it does satellites.

when i first spotted them, i yelled "what the hell is that?" and pointed. my wife was easily able to spot them to the left of the big dipper and follow them with me until they disappeared.

A long, opaque, cylinder shaped object moving slowly across the sky. It slowly disappeared after about a minute.

This cylinder shaped object was moving at the speed of a low hanging cloud (moving east toward the lake, coming from the direction of O’Hare Airport). It had no lights and was exposed by the city glow. I checked twitter or reddit to see if anyone else had spotted it but found nothing. Was sitting with a friend on a 3rd story deck when we saw it. Wasn’t scary, just bizarre. Moments after it disappeared, a bush plane flew by where it had been.

20 feet long, metal object, hovering in air and then moved horizontally.

I was driving in my car and saw 1, metal object hovering above an intersection at Grand Ave and Randolph Ave, in Chicago.

This object was about 20 feet long. It looked like it was made out silver metal. It was shaped like a lamp post. It had a long metal pole attached to a megaphone shape object. This object was moving around in circles and when the megaphone shape object turned toward me; I saw large circular holes in the top of the megaphone shape. It looked like it was a device to record sound but in the shape of a lamp post.

I thought this item was possibly being pulled by a helicopter or a crane but this item was hovering/ floating on its own.

I turned my car around and followed the object for about 1/2 minutes. It started to move horizontally and get higher in the air. It started to move North/ East and I was unable to keep up with the object.

The object kept turning in circles and in no detectable pattern. There was no smoke emitted from the object.

I was able to get 2 short videos of the object.

Single file formation of shiny upright ovals.

My husband and I were laying in the grass at Palmer Square in Logan Square, Chicago IL and could see strange objects, slowly floating through the sky. They were very far away. They followed one after another about 1 or 2 minutes apart at a steady pace. We saw about 6 of them before we had to leave. All following the exact same pattern.

They looked like shiny, upright ovals, with what seemed to be an orb or light around them. They were so far away that we were unable to see any other detail.

~50 tiny equally spaced lights moving in a single-file line formation

Spotted with two others from my balcony in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. We live under an O’Hare flight path so planes are a common sight, but this was completely different. At about 10:15 pm CDT on May 22, 2021, we observed a single-file line of equally-spaced tiny, white, unblinking lights traveling NE. They looked like tiny individual pixels in the sky – no discernable shape other than individual dots/squares. There were probably 50 of them or so and the entire sighting lasted about 10 minutes. Another onlooker described them as moving stars. Seems plausible that it was a line of aircraft flying exceptionally high and in formation. We checked flightradar24 as it was happening but didn’t see anything besides low-flying aircraft flying west on their O’Hare approach (which were also visible).

My wife and I were sitting on the grass in the park overlooking the water of Lake Michigan at Montrose Harbor facing East. The sky was fairly clear. Some clouds in the distance. We are familiar with the area. There is considerable air traffic into O'Hare airport. We saw three spherical silver shining orbs in formation traveling West to East below the typical airplane flight path elevation. They were traveling quite faster than typical commercial aircraft. I pointed them out to my wife. She saw them as well. They disappeared into the distant cloud formation to the east. This happened approximately 6:20 p.m. on May 1, 2021. Weather was clear and sunny. Approximately 3 to 5 minutes after we observed this event, I saw another single spherical silver shining object traveling in the same direction. This object was just as fast as the others. There was no sound coming from the objects. The formation they held and speed was incredible.

Chicago: Shiny disk shaped UFO in daylight

I saw a shiny object from my window in high rise apartment in downtown Chicago. Object was moving around and seemed to be heading West (my view faces North). At first I thought it could be a balloon that was shining from the sun reflection but it seemed bigger and decided to get it on video. After zooming in and further analyzing the video it looks like a saucer/disk/ship. It went fast, I was able to look at it for about 10-15 seconds before grabbing my phone and recording it a 6 second video before it disappeared from my field of vision. As you can see in the video the object maneuvered and did some kind of flip in which you can see the bottom angle of the disk as well. I would like to note that I saw a helicopter flying in the distance shortly after seeing the object (might be unrelated but mentioning just in case), the helicopter was not flying on the same direction where I saw the UFO.

Ufo travelled at high speed and disappeared in a portal?

So I was out walking my dog and I was looking at the sky because I’m in love with the universe and we’re outside for about 15 mins. We begin to walk back home headed east, the sky is clear you can see every single star. I continue to stare at the sky and I noticed what I thought was a shooting star. I instantly thought no way I’ve never seen a shooting star my whole life. The ball of light went straight and picked up an immense amount of speed it leaving behind a white tail of light as it travelled across the sky. All of a sudden the light disappeared like it went behind a curtain and the tail followed behind and disappeared into the night sky. I can only describe the visualization as it possibly opened a portal and disappeared once inside taking the tail of light with it. I’ve never seen something travel across the sky like this! It cleared 2/3 of my field of vision in what felt like two seconds.

While sitting outside last night, I witnessed a seemingly low-flying egg-like object move incredibly fast through the sky. The view from my 3rd story deck spans from northeast to southwest, and the object crossed the entirety of that view in a span of about a second and a half, similar to the speed you might witness in a shooting star. In trying to judge how high it was flying, I can compare against the backdrop of skyscrapers I see southeast from my location, and it appeared to be flying at perhaps the height of a helicopter (there was also a great deal of helicopter action in the sky last night due to the election). I was also able to make out in that brief moment that it was an elongated, oval or egg-like shape, which also suggested it wasn't flying terribly high. Additionally, I saw it pass in front of my view of several of the skyscrapers of downtown Chicago, which are between 1-2 miles south of me. The object itself was egg-shaped from the brief glimps! e I got, and it glowed. There were no distinguishable individual lights on it, and nothing blinking. A very large tail of light followed behind it, perhaps due to speed. The light was bright, but not blinding. It moved in a gently arced, horizontal line, not straight across the sky. There was no sound as it passed, which struck me as peculiar given its incredible speed and seemingly low-flying position. It traveled from east to southwest, disappearing from my view as it flew past the visual barrier I have of the exterior wall of my building that defines the end of my outdoor space. My husband and neighbor were also outside, but by the time I could shout out, the object was already gone. I would be extremely curious to hear if anyone else had a similar sighting.

The light woke me up. The loft of my apartment had see-through blinds. It was 4 am and this blind light was stronger than a planet/star

I video taped for as long as I could, the UFO continued moving in its point but stayed still in location. After staring for 3 minutes, I went back to bed. It was very early in the morning. I woke up again at 5 am and nothing in the location an hour ago, not a shooting star or bright planet. The item was gone. This was neither a drone or helicopter. This was a little sphere moving on its axle.

Disc shaped light over Chicago

Sitting out side in the backyard with family enjoying a fire at night. We looked up at the stars and see a disk shaped light moving across the sky. It was highe r then any plane and definitely not a shooting star. It goes far north out of the field of vision. About 5-8 minutes later we see a jet way up in the sky with flashing lights. And behind the plane we see the same disc shaped light trailing behind the plane. Heading north then the ufo veers to the east and It then continues. We are all watching it and then the light disappears. If this would have been a plane or some other known object it would of been complete visible at that distance. This was a clear night sky many stars visible almost no clouds.

Chicago Ohare Sighting 4.20.20

This is second time writing. First was for Reddit.

-I have told the story SEVERAL times by voice, phone, in person. It has never once changed. I have (during C-VID 19 Lockdown in Chicago) ALMOST convinced myself i didn't see it. But i did.

I was coming home from my parents in the suburbs. Heading to my place in Chicago where i live. It was POURING rain the entire 40 minute drive. It suddenly stopped, still bad conditions while i approached o'hare airport. I believe there is an underpass from i90 where ohare is literally above me on the bridge… As i exit this bridge right next to o'hare… i see the.most.beautiful. Shooting star i’ve eve imagined existed. (this is the first millisecond of time broken down) I saw this bright bright light shoot out of my vision. As this millisecond comes to a close, i realize that i saw this light fly AWAY from me. I am a mechanical engineer, i know my coordinate systems extremely well. I can tell you this light traveled up, and away from me (North East Direction).

The next slight millisecond of time consisted in me understanding all the sudden that this was NOT a shooting star. It was pouring rain not 5 minutes ago. I look up, the entire sky is covered with rain clouds. They are so presumptuous that they look like their 50 feet above my vehicle. This “shooting star” that i saw i realized left my plane of vision up and away and i still see where it went: a PERFECT horizontal break in the huge rain clouds. This all takes place out of the underpass of o'hare airport.

After realizing this light just escaped through that cover, the next millisecond in time is butterflies in my stomach. Because the light i just saw couldn't have been a shooting star given the cloud cover. I realize that i also saw the lights TURN INTO ONE LIGHT. From the close, o'hare type location i first saw it, i saw there were in fact 3 lights and during their exit it formed to one. The butterflies progress.

Another millisecond goes by; and i realize the lights are longgg gone. All the sudden my focus comes back, and i see two GIANT jumbo jets flying synchronized, in same exact direction, same exact plane of height of ground that the angle of the lights flew. These planes, giant aircrafts are moving fast i’m sure. But they're moving from my dumb perception slowly as they glide from a take off out of ohare. I line these up in my geometric mind; and i notice they are at the same plane the lights were, and the lights were PERFECTLY CENTERED in between these two flashing airplanes. As if the airplanes perfectly catapulted the lights. Or guided? Or Followed? Around this time i also noticed street lights separating east and west i-90 FLICKERED. Like a perfect trail in direction of that light… Also during this time it hits me of what i just saw.

My next move is to call my father. He is a wise realistic man. Straight shooter but absolutely believes in UFO’s. I call him tell him the EXACT description and words i just used to explain this. The very absolute second my story comes to an obvious end. We both hear, a click click clunk and the call drops from us. I call back, thinking perhaps he was messing with me? He thought the same of me. He rushes me off the phone and goes to bed (10:15 ish Pm) He is never like that he was very skeptical.

I think i was confirmed sighting, and they used my phone call as aid in their research whatever is going on. Since this i have just today posted on another website, and all the sudden today there is our USA govt. Releasing old footage of UFOs normalizing them? So now any local stories are blocked by CNN and CBS mentioning the pentagon releasing UFO videos. Also After my sighting 4.20.20 there was a METEOR SHOWER the next day. NIce odds right? Also same week that Elon Musk is sending satteltes out. This was definetly not that hence those need rockets, and this was silent and 50^300032.00290-10 times faster than any light i’ve ever seen.

My wife and I saw approx. 12-15 round white lights traveling in N/E in a straight line, spaced approx. the same distance apart. The objects appeared to be very high in the sky and moving very quickly. There wasn't any noticeable blinking lights that would typically be associated with regular aircraft, and there wasn't any sound. We are used to seeing planes in the area as we live in a flight path of O'hare Airport, but we've never seen anything like this before. We tried to take video from our cell phones but because of the night sky our phones weren't picking up the objects on video. We were able to get a few pics on our cell phone that showed some of what we saw.

White stationary lights caught in Chicago on a time lapse video

My husband set up his phone for a time lapse video in the alley behind our garage as he loaded his pickup truck. The video shows him loading, then driving away (forgot his phone was on the fence. After he drove away, the video shows the phone shifted it’s focus up above the garage. He then returns and begins looking for the phone. While he is looking, two white lights appear in the sky over the garage. Even though the phone is still on time lapse video, the lights don’t move and you can see clouds are moving over the lights. A third light appears briefly forming a triangle. No craft is apparent - just lights.

We are married, have 3 daughters, and two dogs. We both own our own businesses and my husband runs Christmas tree lots - why he was loading his truck early morning.

Massive triangle zooms over Chicago’s west side

On Wednesday October 16 between 7:25 and 7:35 PM I saw I very large triangle with a light on each corner fly from north to south in a straight line, pointy end first. It took about 2 seconds to fly across the sky and out of view. I would guess at least the size of a football field though it’s hard to say what altitude it was at. About 2 full moons across, or if holding a ruler at arms length about 3-4 inches on the ruler. The lights on the corners were very large, facing down, and very dim, yellowish, not as bright as the stars or planes over head. No flashing lights or lights in the middle, just the 3. Completely silent. I was standing in Logan Square (Chicago) facing west. If it wasn’t going so fast I would have tried to take a picture or video but then again it was so dim so it might not have been captured. This was just after sunset and there was lots of ambient light. I would say it was definitely faster than the jets during the air and water show. Any! one facing west and looking up would have seen it, it may have been dim, but it was brazen, unmistakable and unmissable for the two seconds it took to fly from one end of the sky to the other. There were aircraft in the vicinity but none chasing the object, which I imagine to be impossible. I would also like to include that it was flying virtually parallel to the streets that run north-south, so not traveling southwest or southeast etc.

I was on a commercial jet on final approach into Midway airport near Chicago. We were Over Lake Michigan at approximately 1k feet and I saw what I thought was a white bird Like a seagull flying above the water going in the opposite direction as the plane. As it got closer I noticed that it was not a bird but rather a white ball shaped object flying at a steady rate. There were no propellers or any type of exhaust or thrust producing mechanisms. It just moved under the plane at a steady rate. It’s difficult to determine an exact size because it was below me and appeared by be ~ 20 fee above the water. If I Were to guess I would say 2-3 ft. in diameter. I have never see a UFO in my life, I’m not sure what this was but it was very strange. No one else on the plane made a comment that I could hear.

Metallic pill shaped craft, no windows or obvious method of propulsion

I was taking a flight from Chicago to Dallas in 2019, I always sit in a window seat due to severe motion sickness and I prefer to sit above the wing to use it as a reference for my brain. Takeoff and landing are the worst for this, so for takeoff and landing I stare out the window trying to find the horizon to orient myself. We were ascending to altitude and hitting occasional patches of clouds (which make my motion sickness worse because I can't see the horizon) when I noticed something at/on the end of the wing. I only got momentary glimpses as the clouds would cover it every few seconds, but I thought at first it was an extra engine or something on the end of the wing? It looked metallic and sort of egg or pill shaped. When you're not expecting to see something unusual I think the brain tries to make an assumption and go with it. So I figured it must've just been a secondary smaller engine that I just hadn't noticed before takeoff. But every time the clouds would break I would get a better look and during a brief second of clarity I realized it wasn't actually attached to the plane. I immediately thought weather balloon because it didn't have any obvious method of propulsion or windows or anything, but then I was like 'wait weather balloons don't travel at the speed of planes..' and then we hit another patch of clouds. I was getting nauseous so I still wasn't paying much mind to the thing at the end of the plane, but when the clouds broke for a good 2-3 seconds this next time I got a full and clear view- after discounting the weather balloon my brain was like 'oh ok it's a drone I guess' but my boyfriend at the time had just got his commercial drone license weeks prior, and I helped him study for the test and so I knew drones couldn't legally operate near airspace. Then it was like my brain clicked in and I realized I didn't know what I was looking at, this metallic pill/egg shaped thing that wasn't touching the plane, didn't have any windows or engines but somehow was going the EXACT same speed as the plane! And it's almost as if it heard me think that thought because not even a second later it darted towards the window faster than I've ever seen anything move. It hovered outside the window for less than a second and then shot directly up into the sky and it was gone. There wasn't anyone sitting next to me, but I did stand up and look around the plane to see if anyone else appeared to have seen whatever I just saw and it didn't look like anyone did. Most of the window visors were down and most people were asleep, I sat back down and the rest of my flight went on as expected, weirdly I didn't feel intensely about the experience after it happened. I felt calm and didn't give it much thought again until after I got to my hotel in Dallas.

Bullet shaped object burning up falls towards Chicago, then changes directions and shoots away July 16 2019

My partner and I were attending tonight’s regular Full Moon Fire Jam on the beach along with a hundred or so other people. My partner made a comment about the planes tonight, she felt like they were moving a lot lower and faster, they seemed more colorful than usual and were interesting to look at so I was laying on our blanket face up staring at the planes in the sky.

After a while of spacing out I realized my attention had fixed on a bright object that wasn’t the moon. At first it was just a bright red-orange light headed towards earth from the East, if the projectile landed it would be a little bit North of us. After a minute I asked “Do you see that?”.

We watched it for another minute, trying to understand what it was. My original thought was a foreign space object somehow missing a tail, but my partner’s was that it was a bomb. She has better eyesight than me and later claimed that the thought of it being a bomb came from the way the light shone against! the surface of the object, like wrapping around its nose, “It looked like a bullet.”. It was big, how big is hard to say, but big enough that if it did crash to earth it would destroy the city.

We got up and started to leave, but when no one else followed we questioned our decision. “It’s still there.” I noted, and we both watched it for a few more seconds. From my perspective it seemed to stop and immediately change directions, now moving parallel to the horizon towards the North, away from us, but my partner believes it “slungshot back the way it came”. It was completely gone within a second.

I posted a vague question about it on the Fire Jam Facebook event page and two others described the event as well. I don’t know if what I saw was intelligent life, technology, or space junk, but whatever it was, it made my heart fall into my stomach, I could hardly believe what I was seeing was real. I feared for my life.

Large white light visible over Lake Michigan

I looked out my east facing window and thought I was looking an early morning moon in the mid-horizon over Lake Michigan. I thought the moon was obscured by the clouds which was creating an effect of partial visibility. The light disappeared and I thought it had gone behind the clouds. I opened the night sky app and pointed it in that direction, and there was no moon there! Oddly, at the same time, I saw two moving lights, going north to south. These appeared at first to be in the far distance, but as I tracked them visually, they were decreasing in altitude and appeared between myself and the buildings in front of me. I suppose these could be drones, used by CP to scout late-night disturbances. Was just odd to me that there were 2 flying in unison at the same time I saw that weird light in the sky.

A large, dark circular silhouette of a craft weaved in and out of the clouds moving south (away from O’Hare) and towards Indiana. We live near typical flight paths, and this was moving against the grain. It sounded like a fighter jet, but quieter. I could hear it cutting through the clouds, but it was completely circular and had no lights on whatsoever. Granddaughter, was looking out of apartment window on the 7th floor, facing southeast. We live at Chicago & Lake Street in the Global Market Building. Around midnight, or a little after, she yells to me while I was in the bathroom and says a few times, 'That was really weird.

Two round silver objects flying behind an airplane

On Monday December 17th, I was sitting in my car in a parking lot eating something quickly before my next appointment. When I looked up at the sky I noticed a plane and a distance behind it I noticed two silver round objects. The two silver round objects were moving very quickly, I almost got the feeling that they were playing around as they were circling each other in and out and then they both quickly speed and went northwest and disappeared into the clouds. One reappeared and went eastbound, the same direction the plane was headed. It happened so fast I tried to reach for my phone but couldn’t get it on time.

I’ve tried to search on line to see if anyone else reported the sighting but have found nothing, I’m especially curious because it was around lunch time in brought day light.

Partally Transparent Rectangle that went full transparent

On November 30, 2018, I was traveling on Northwest Highway in Chicago. It was approximately 1:00pm and it was a clear, sunny day. While sitting in traffic, I looked up and ahead through my windshield and saw what I can only describe as a “transparent flag” moving North to South. I looked carefully to make sure it wasn’t a bag or garbage, but it was much too high in the sky for that. It was not a sign being pulled by a small plane, as I would have certainly seen the plane on such a clear day. The object was moving in a very steady, deliberately North to South and a steady pace. Imagine a flag waving in the sky, but it’s transparent, and because it’s waving, the transparency is a little distorted. That’s how I was able to make out its shape. I looked out my driver side window to make sure it wasn’t simply my view through my windshield. It was not. The object was still there. I saw it for a full minute, then it slowly went to what I can only describe as “full transparency”. Again, not a cloud in the sky.

Security camera sighting over O'Hare International Airport

I live just east of O’hare international airport and recently setup a security camera pointing almost directly west overlooking the airfield sky. I setup the camera to only record motion (free 14 days of motion recording) and let it run.

The next day I decided to check out some of the night time motion triggers thinking that I would get another racoon/skunk sighting. Instead I got something that I can't really explain.

I first checked a recording at 5:09 AM and noticed that the usual insect tripped the motion. Upon further inspection of the video, I noticed 2 small lights in the sky. I rewatched and noticed that they were hovering slightly. I then started going back in time about every 20 minutes or so and noticed that the 2 lights were roughly floating in the same position. I kept going back in time (about 4 hours) to 12:47 AM to see if I could find where the lights entered the frame.

The lights appeared above the treeline and rapidly moved up and over to assume a position where it remained for over 4 hours hovering slightly.

It looks to me as a pair of 2 lights connected by something, probably the aircraft, and moved in unison.

I see the lights in the sky again and it seems like it is some sort of infrared guidance system for the planes to land. Obviously, it can only be seen with a IR security camera and the video from 12:47 looks like they were doing some sort of calibration and then bringing it in line for the planes to land.

I noticed a red light, a bit brighter than what we typically see on top of building or tall antenna for aviation purposes. We also could see that all the buildings had their own red light(s) on top for identification purposes. The thing that I noticed very quickly was that this red light was above the Sears Tower beacons by a long shot and was no way a part of that buildings antennas.

The red light would stay solid for about 20 seconds then off for about 2-3 seconds, back on for about 5 seconds, back off for 2-3 seconds and finally stay on for 20-30 seconds. This process lasted about 10-15 minutes. Then the light moved in a completely straight horizontal motion, did the blink sequence and moved back to where it was. It then moved in a completely straight vertical motion down above another building, eventually moving back up. These movements were not fast nor slow but for the distance we were viewing from the movement was probably in fact very fast.

At the end of this viewing the light switched from green to red and back to red several times and also did a white light blinking sequence for about 5-10 seconds before finally staying red. These color changes all happened while sitting in one spot at a time. We finally decided to leave the roof top because a large lightning storm was approaching and the winds were very strong. In fact we could see the larger fireworks being blown northeast into the wind quite dramatically. That was also very strange to see this light not moving with the wind as a drone or helicopter might.

My first reaction was a helicopter but I have never witnessed a helicopter move in right angles so precisely. My wife suggested a Drone but I don't believe a drone can stabilize so well in 20-30 winds and if I had to guess this light was probably 3k-7k above the lake. From our vantage point the light would have been closer to southeast Chicago or possibly even Indiana.

When we got back into out apartment I was excited to get my spotting scope set up to look at it but of course it was not there nor did it reappear for the next hour or so while we stayed awake.

Three UFO'S slowly and silently floating over my house in Chicago. Two bright red, one white 07/04/2018.

Going from South to North over Chicago two bright red tennis objects slowly floated over my house. On a very clear night with little clouds they were very clear. They had no noise and were fairly low. Not blurry they were very clear.

A minute later another single white object followed the other two now not visible going South over Chicago. They were clearly flying lower then the planes landing at O'Hare airport.

Out of No where 2 strange floating bright reddish orange looking disk with what looks like 3 lights beaming from it silently move across the full moon sky tonight .. First thing I thought was they were too close to each other to be planes.

They travelled southeast to northeast then disappeared. Then another appeared instantly from the same direction, headed the same way then disappeared. Then 2 more did the same thing all within 4 to 6 mintues.

3 bright lights over Chicago.

This is the second day I have seen these 3 lights in the sky over Chicago....there are no stars to be seen anywhere in the sky and there are only a few aircraft in the sky I can see and verified with flightradar24 app. 2 of the lights are to the south of me looking over Willis tower and the other is much closer to my west almost directly over me...these 3 lights do not seem to be moving at all and are brighter than anything else in the sky.

3 bright light orbs seen over chicago

from my position there were 2 lights hovering above the willis tower (looking south), and 1 light to the west(looking west and almost right above me). I sat and watched the lights for 30 min and they never changed position in the sky. I observed planes in the air moving in the background behind these objects. I knew the other objects were planes because they had red flashing lights on them, unlike the 3 objects i saw which had no change in light color and never changed in intensity.
