Square lights moving across the sky

Went out to feed the dogs and saw a series of square lights slowly moving across the sky from west to east or southwest to northeast. Could not see any craft just about 10 square window shaped lights that were all next to each other in a horizontal line (single craft) moving across the sky. I walked about 20 feet while looking at it thinking it could be a glare off something . It Did not change speed or direction. Dissappeared behind some trees. Was a couple miles away from me over Chicago Park, Colfax area. Checking my security camera when I get home to see if it caught anything

I captured a disk-like object with astro-photography equipment, and can not explain it with my astronomy, physics, or camera knowledge.

On the evening of October 7th 2020, a clear night, I began my observing run as an amateur astronomer. After my automated scope was set up and running, I decided to do some DSLR imaging of the Milky Way. I was using my Nikon 3200 camera with a William Optics Precision Refractor scope on a tracking mount. I was using Mars as a bright focusing point. During the focus procedure, while examining the image for focus and sharpness, I noticed an object that appeared to be out of focus in comparison to the rest of the image, which was odd. I removed the SD card to examine the image on my laptop. When I zoomed in on this oddity in the image, I can only say I was jaw dropped. There was a disk shaped object that just could not be in the image according to all logic. As an avid amateur astronomer for the past 30 years, I have taken tens of thousands of images and have never seen anything like this, and could not explain what I was looking at. My initial thought was that ! this was a lensing aberration, yet with the sophistication of the equipment and the amount of time that I have used this setup, that conclusion just doesn't seem to add up. Furthermore, it was a 9 second exposure image, meaning that the object had to be stationary in those 9 seconds, or it would be a blurry streak. If I had simply bumped the camera to create the warped shape, then everything else in the image would also be warped. But every other object in the frame is perfectly round. Any object of rational origin in or out of the atmosphere would not be still enough to create such a sharp image. The appearance of the object in the image implies that if it is not within close proximity, then it must be an extremely large object. Keep in mind, all of this was rattling through my brain within seconds of seeing the image. I immediately ran back to the scope, which again is on a precision tracking mount, so the position would not have changed. I shot additional images, only to! find that the object was no longer there. I grabbed my 100mm ! astro-bi noculars, visually scanned the area, and was unable to locate anything unusual or moving in the area. The object was simply gone. I went back to my laptop to re-examine for any other explanations, and I showed the image to my daughter. She is 16 years old, in an advanced high school program, and dedicates most of her time to her education. In short, she has a scientific mind, and was utterly blown away by this image as well. She has also been searching for an explanation, and is beyond stumped. I cannot dispute the logic pointing to the conclusion that this image defies all rationality. I am open to anything that would explain what I captured that night, but as of right now, I have no reason to believe that this is anything other than a physical object as captured in the image. As to what that object actually is, I will leave that up to others to decide for themselves.

Amazing straight line of 30+ lights traveling through the sky at a high rate of speed spaced equally going in the same direction

We are not sure what we saw but they were moving In a straight line from the South West to the North East They appeared to look like a jet liner would look at night at 30,000 feet but no flashing lights or sound, or a satellite would look. They were also spaced equally apart, one behind the other they just kept coming. They traveled through the sky in a short period of time.

Went outside to check on puppy. Looking up at all the beautiful stars saw what appeared to be a star moving zig-zag for the most part straight line. No other blinking lights as a plane....no sound as for a plane....very slow not a shooting star or meteor.

I just got into astronomy and I got 20x80 binoculars scanning to the north the first object darting past really really fast but I kept on it at first I thought a shooting star until it stopped dead.it then disappeared.thinking i lost it I glanced not using the binoculars not believing what i just saw .and then I seen in the same path a slower object bigger and dimmer then the other it actually disappeared then reappeared further down where I lost the first. then I seen the which looked to be the first object just appeared like waiting for the slower bigger and dimmer object.as soon as it caught up they both flew off very quickly and flew behind trees in the distance which was high and looked to be pretty far but close enough to see with the naked eye.just amazing. I'm so happy I took this hobby up. I can't even sleep now. I'm still so excited.

Bright repetitive flashes during 2017 Perseid meteor showers.

Following a similar sighting on the previous evening of Saturday, August 12, 2017, I accepted an invitation on Sunday, August 13, 2017, from a former pastor friend and his wife to have dinner and then go outside and watch the Perseid meteor showers before the moon rose. After seeing a couple of very large ones, at about 10:00 PM the 3 of us witnessed a very similar repeat of the bright blue-white flash event at the same elevation and direction as I’d seen the previous night (as reported separately). This was also followed by perhaps 6 or 7 less intense flashes at irregular intervals, but their location kept randomly shifting slightly to the left or up or down. As the flashes became fainter, they moved slowly down and to the ESE for a considerable distance, finally becoming too faint to follow although by this time my pastor friend was tracking them with binoculars trying to see any detail (to no avail). My friends then told me that they’d seen similar fl! ashes in the same location at about the same time the night before.

Then, at around 11:30 PM there was a reoccurrence of the flash at exactly the same position in the sky and just as brightly, followed by a couple of irregular but fainter ones, all with no apparent change in position and this time not followed by the receding movement of fainter flashes.

After solidly dismissing the idea of any sort of aircraft we speculated that it might be flashes from a reflective panel on a rotating satellite or space station. But the irregularity of the flashes and the extreme brightness of the initial flash or two seemed to discount any sort of regular rotational cause. It left us clueless but not at all alarmed, thinking it might just be some sort of optical illusion that would find explanation later. But there was no mention of any similar sighting in Monday’s local newspaper.

My companions have an amateur interest in astronomy and night sky viewing. My own background includes a lifetime amateur interest in the biological sciences, and later in the hard sciences (esp. quantum physics, astrophysics, cosmology, topology, etc.), but not UFO’s. Since 1965 have been a professional fine woodworker (luthier), spec. stringed musical instruments, involving fine measurements, close tolerances, good observational skills, and a good ear.

Bright repetitive flashes during 2017 Perseid meteor showers.

An unusual nighttime sighting, both alone, and with friends, during the recent 2017 Perseid meteor shower was dismissed as some sort of odd, but probably explainable, visual illusion. But 4 evenings later while driving I was listening to Coast to Coast and heard a mention of several similar accounts reported from the U.S. and Turkey, so will add our experiences (in two reports) to the mix.

Around 2:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2017, I had just returned home to Grass Valley, CA, after a flight from Phoenix, AZ, and after unpacking the car went back outside to see if any of the Perseids might be visible. There were very few but while looking NNE at around 3:00 AM there was an extremely bright blue-white flash about 35° up which lingered and faded for maybe a full second, followed quickly by another dimmer flash, and then a couple more that were even fainter, although not at regular intervals. At first I assumed it was a plane, but it was stationary and there were definitely no colored running lights or associated sounds. I’m familiar with helicopters doing nighttime searchlight operations, but the lights were just flashes with no downward beam.

Orange object drops white orb.

I am submitting this on behalf of my stepson. This event happened in the span of about 10 minutes.

My stepson and his friend sitting around campfire in chairs, talking.

He states he had noticed it out of the corner of his eye when he was talking to his friend; his friend was facing towards the general direction of the object. His friend asked him if he could also see it.

At first they were thinking it was a drone. The object was orange-red, about the size of a basketball from his perspective, appeared triangular shape but may have had an aura around it. It was about 100 yards away.

Discussion about recording/pictures took place, but there were issues with getting cameras/go pros going. My stepson walked around to get a better view and the object moved, dropped a white orb and proceeded to move behind the trees. It appeared to the west, i.e., it moved from east to west. It hovered for a few minutes and then just disappeared.

Incidentally, immediately afterwards, a sharp high pitched noise was heard that startled the both of them, but was dismissed as a bird.

Observations about the object: triangular shaped, orange-red, basketball sized, glowing, pulsating, no sound, one white orb ejected.

The bright light did not have characteristics of an asteroid and it descended, like it was falling, rather than streaking.

I was driving north on Hwy 49, towards the town of Grass Valley, when I witnessed a very bright light high in the night sky, descending extremely fast toward earth. It happened very quickly, and due to mountain terrain and tree coverage, I lost sight of it.

I did not see any fire or hear any explosion.

I was lying in bed after dark. My screen-less windows were open and my blinds were up. I happened too see something in the sky directly north out my window at an angle above the horizon through some power lines about 100 yards distant from my house. I saw it for 30 seconds or so, before it disappeared behind a solid tree.

The object was slowly moving away from me in a NNE direction at about the speed of a jet airplane, but seemed likely to be at a lower altitude than would be typical of such a craft. Its appearance was extremely unusual and not at all typical of a conventional manmade aircraft or satellite.

It was small enough in size at what seemed to be a far distance of at least several miles away such that it briefly blinked from behind each line, before reappearing, similar to a star or satellite. However, it was large enough that I could tell it was off-round in shape and a hazy orange in color, intensely bright in the center, and fuzzy on the edges.

The color of orange in a pitch black sky combined with the cloudy hue of color and imperfect shape impressed me as being unnatural and not manmade. I have never seen anything like it.

Spotted a stationary white dot in the sky east of us that remained for 2 hours then moved very slowly to the North and faded out.

While watching borate planes dropping borate on a fire that had started not far from us, we live in the mountains out of Grass Valley, California, my son-in-law spotted a small white dot way up above the borate planes that remained in one spot the whole time while we were watching the borate planes.

He got his binoculars and watched it for a while. Said it was round and concaved in the middle. My daughter was using her camera taking pictures of the planes and zoomed in on the object and took a picture. The object stayed in one spot in the east of us and never moved for the two hours we were looking.

Don’t know how long it had been there before we spotted it.

Later we went in the house, but my husband sat out for a while longer and said it very slowly moved to the north and faded out over about Tahoe area.

It was way above the borate planes.

We have a very good photo of the object.

Me and a buddy were sittin a little past 11000 block of East Bennett Street and seen what appeared to us to be the helmet lights of a biker. We had two Puppies in the vevichle at the time with us that reacted rather unnormally to whatever it was. One cowered and whimpered while the other scratched at the door and barked at the window and object till it disappeared. One thing wrong, they were red and they were in a perfect straight line. There were what looked like anywhere from 1 to 4 lights but could not figure out if it was one craft or mutiple. They moved about 15 feet left across th road started bouncin randomly then dissappeared randomly as well.

I was watching TV and looked out the window towards the east of my home. I saw 6 yellow orbs that had the light and color of something burning. I told my girlfriend and she saw them too. I went outside to see what they were. There was no sound what’s so ever. The orbs continued west for a couple minutes and then two started to go around each other and then one of the them went out. The rest continued south and then went out. They went out and did not pass out of view, I have a view to the south for a long way and they were still within my view. I called local sheriff’s office and they had no other calls. I called local air force base, but they had no information. My girlfriend found posting of similar/same sightings from the Sacramento area that occurred at the same time.

Two "star" like objects flashing red, white and blue with unnatural intensity.

There were two objects in the sky that were way brighter than any star in the sky. They were blinking red, white, and blue. They seemed to be wiggling around and they constantly changed colors. One started out calmly blinking then got rapid and bright. The other was blinking and flashing brighter than any star I've ever seen. One of the "stars" got dim and disappeared out of sight. As soon as I told the other witness that it had gone away... It reappeared in its spot with just as much intensity as before.

Red lights shining on a black or invisible flying/stationary object.

At 2258 hours I was driving heading South West on Hwy 49 coming down the mountain from Gold Flat/Ridge Road, I saw a flying object threw my front windshield with three constant red lights hovering in the sky close to the ground above tree tops. It would stop then move toward me in a slow fluid motion then stop move toward me then stop again.

Taking the Hwy off ramp at Brunswick Road I waited at the stop light, and when it turned green turned left heading over the bridge East. It seemed to me the stationary craft was very close to my destination so I decided to check it out. I turned right on to Plaza Drive drove past the Flyers gas station. At this moment I saw the craft start to move so I stopped in the road behind Perko's diner, shut off the engine, turned off the head lights, and got out of the vehicle, and stood behind the door. The craft now had three lights but as it turned it revealed a forth.

It made a complete 340 degree turn like a glider would (no sound) in a 20 foot diameter. My approximation of distance is 300 yards, 170 feet from ground, over a wilderness area, (using the local cedar trees as a guide), and only blackness between the red lights. The lights made a X like any respective airplane would, and one was clearly definable as the front since motion forward stayed with that light. From my estimation the lights were 20 feet apart, and they did not illuminate what they were attached to. It was only 20 feet above the cedar tree tops, and completed its turn ending heading in a North East direction. It looked to me that is was traveling at 2 Mph top, in a slightly lowering altitude.

Losing sight of it behind trees I did not see it a gene. I did try to relocate it by estimating the drop speed, speed, and direction, but was unsuccessful. Note- there is a local air port in the direction it was heading.

I have gone threw a mired of emotions and thoughts about this. I have questioned myself over and over, on what exactly I had seen. The main point I keep reminding myself is that most of the time I watched this craft it was fixed motionless in the sky, and to the best of my knowledge we do not have that ability on our air craft. Second was the silence, it made no noise at all, and the traffic noise that might have masked that was almost nonexistent. I will have to recall this account, and the main thing I will recall is that I can only classify what I saw as a unidentified flying object.

Lighted(glowing) chevron shaped craft with individual lights moving east to west then just disappeared

There were three of us on the back porch at 7:30pm. 2 out of 3 of us saw the (craft) for a total of about 6 seconds. It was shaped like a boomerang or flattened V, I guess it is referred to as a chevron shape. It was all lighted, but not very bright, almost a translucent look to it with 5-7 lights with in it that were slightly visible, all white light though. It was traveling from east to west at a moderate speed, at first glance it looked to be just over the trees, but I believe it was much higher. We watched it traveling in a relatively straight path and then it was just gone. I may have second guess myself except there were two of us and we described it exactly the same. By the time the third one could catch a look at it it had blinked out or whatever you want to call it.

Two objects flying in formation.

Location: Grass Valley, California Date: September 5, 2010 Time: 21:50 hours PDT, 09:45 PM PDT My brother, his son, my sister, my wife and I are in Grass Valley California. Four of us, (all but my sister Andrea) saw this last night. It was a very warm night and we were sitting on the deck outs...ide of the house.

It was a beautifully clear night and the stars were bright. We had only candles lit to keep the bugs to a minimum. My nephew looked upwards at the sky and said, "Dad, what is that?" At that moment, we all looked directly overhead to the sky. Traveling from the south heading almost directly to the north very possibly heading 360 degrees and 90 degrees off of the eastern horizon, all four of us clearly saw two objects. These two objects were traveling in synchronized formation. The lead object led the second object forward and to the left at a distance of about 500 to 1000 miles, depending on the exact altitude.

The two objects maintained identical course and speed. Both objects appeared to be similar in appearance to the surrounding stars excepts that they were at least 2 times brighter than Jupiter which was in the eastern skies and the brightest star in the skies.

It is difficult to judge the exact altitude of the two objects but they were at least 100,000 feet above sea level and probably higher. Compared to other aircraft in the skies, they were at least three or four times higher. They were traveling at about 4,000 mph or greater.

The two objects flew completely synchronous. When they approached almost directly overhead, they slowed to approximately 1,000 mph together. They then initiated a change of direction, heading perpendicular to the Earth directly upwards out towards open space. They then proceeded outwards at a remarkable rate of speed exceeding in our estimation 5,000 to 10,000 mph. As the objects exited our view, their star like appearance gradually reduced down in a dimming fashion to a bright pin point and then became invisable.

I have had the good fortune to be present at a space shuttle landing at Cape Kennedy Florida. The re-entry of the orbiter into the Earth's atmosphere is the only thing that I have ever seen that might be comparable to what we saw last night with regard to speeds, altitude and controlled direction of flight.

Four individuals who were together on our deck saw this event last night. We all are in agreement about the details as discribed. I have been on this planet for almost sixty years and I have never seen anything even remotely simmilar to this.

We are not making any claims as to exactly what it was that we saw or their origins. We do believe it to be reasonable to conclude that since the two objects were flying synchronous, changing both speed as well as direction, simultaneously, that they had to be communicating with each other. We also believe it to be reasonable to conclude that the objects were being intelligently controlled.

Was outside. In the air a jet move from the north to south. At the last moments, shifted directions to the west. 2 more jets came over the western horizon. All jets were flying at a high altitude. Ufo appeared over the northern horizon. Flying extremely low, almost touching the tree tops. Going about 30 mph. had 3 bright, yeloow, non-moving lights, located on the top of the saucer and 2 on the bottom. Headed south until disappeared over the tree line. Jets continues to pursue at high altitude.

Flash of light in Northern Sky near big dipper on Thursday 1/25/07 seen by two people.

Just under the big-dipper a large flash of light appeared.

The light didn't move across the sky, nor did it move an any direction. It was like a STAR expanded 1000 times the size and then went away.

I waited around for a sound or boom, but to no avail.

Three days later I am still thinking about this because stars do not expand like this. Almost like a flashlight from the sky clicked on, then off suddenly. The brightness was two times that of a star, but not blinding and 1000 times the size.

Three objects, four lights each. moved slowly and silently.

Some friends and I were camping on "Yankee Jim's trail", an old mining trail near Grass Valley, in the gold rush country. We were camped near an old Single lane suspension bridge, over the American River.

I had decided to sleep outside my tent, under the stars, while everybody else slept in tents. At about 12:30 I noticed an object with four lights move over the top of one side of the river canyon. the lights were in a diamond shape and bright red, not flashing, not changing. The object moved unusually slowly over the river canyon, and apeared to be no more than 50 feet over the tops of the hills.

The object took about 2min to cross over from one hill top to another, a distance of about 2-3 football fields. There was no discernable sound at all.

Given all of these details together it unlike any aircraft I have ever seen.

About 20min later another object crossed the river, in as near as I could tell, the same exact path and hight over ther river. Again, totally silent.

This object's four lights were in a triangle shape with one in the center. The one in the center changed colors in a seemingly random patern, while the others were solid red like the first object.

Then in another 20min another object crossed in the same path, hight, and silent manner. The lights were again in a diamond shape, but only one remained solid red, while the three others were changing colors in a similar random pattern.

Bright streaks across the night sky light up surrounding area's below as if it were daylight

Saw four streaks of light across the night sky. The streaks of light lit up the surrounding area's below as if it were daytime but only in the area's below the streaks. They remained that way for five minutes, maybe more. I was driving my car home, as I saw the streaks, it seemed as daytime around me - i could see clear blue skies and then it slowly faded. As I got nearer my home - there appeared to be other bright spots in the sky around the area - they lit up quickly and then faded quickly. I have never experienced anything quite like it before. It did not seem to be a meteor shower - there was no tails of light or streaks??? I didn't see any crafts or objects, but the lights were so bright it was hard to tell where they were coming from or where they originated from exactly - it was four distinct area's in the sky that were bright and lit up and then it all faded the same and then it was very dark.

At about 7:05 pm I was witnesing a bright comet like looking thing in the western skis ,but very low just above the horizon. So I pulled my van over and grabed the camera turned it on and was able to snap 4 so so pics before it blew up and all that was left was a tail that lingered for the next 5 minutes or so.

The only people that were around were a couple of guys in the car wash, and they didnt speek english so well and I speek even less spanish, but I pointed to the ski and they got the piture . When I got home my wife and kids thought I had flipped a noodle until I showed them the pics on the pc, So two hrs had gone by and I had heard nothing on the news or on the net, so when I came across this site and I was filling in the time and date and what I saw ....

I was haveing thoughts that I was even abducted .. Because my camera was saying 6:05 And I got home at 8:15 , Well after I took the pics , Its only a 10 minute drive Leaving about a 1 hr of time that I couldnt account for. Well yes thats right The cam had not been reset for daylight saveings time , O well the 10:00 news had the real digs on my abduction.. It was a minuteman test out of Vandenberg air base ? But it was very cool and I was able to get pitures of it to .

Saw a light in sky. It did a strange turn. Heard a slow hum, not like airplane. Hum lasted for over half an hour. Light reappeared about half an hour after first sighting and was traveling with a fast speed at a slanted angle towards the ground, and dissapeared.

On the morning of July 31, 1998, at approximately 4.00 am, I saw a faint light in the sky, that appeared to be a star. I was alone outside, with the only other person a few feet away, sleeping in a tent. He did not observe the occurance. The light was moving, and suddenly it shifted, turning to reveal a brighttness. It then shrunk back into the smaller light, and dissapeared. I believe that the object was turning. At first, I thougth this was an airplane. I made this conclusion because there was a hum in the air, like an engine. I figured that the plane would be moving away quickly, and the hum would dissapear. However, this did not happen. The hum continued for over twenty minutes to half an hour, when the light reappear, further out towards the hills surrounding the area. However, this time the light was traveling downwards, at an inclined angel, and traveling at a quick speed. It moved downwards, and dissapeared. The hum still remained, but I feel asleep under the night sky before I could make another sighting.

Giant lenticular cloud over music festival

My boyfriend and I were driving into Grass Valley. There was a 3 to 4 day Bluegrass music festival going on at the fair grounds with people camping on the grounds.

We were coming around the foothills of the Sierra Nevada into Grass Valley and saw a gigantic lenticular cloud over the whole fairgrounds. It was awesome, I never saw anything like it before.

They broadcasted the festival on the local Nevada City radio station KVMR. People on the air were saying that they were taken up to a a UFO and visited with aliens.

It was a festive occasion and everyone was real happy.

50-ft saucer with 6 bright white lights shining down outside Grass Valley, California

It was the second week of November in 1986. My husband and I were in the Sierra Nevada Mts between Lake Tahoe and Grass Valley California. It was about midnight and we were walking on the top of a mountain when suddenly there came a noise that sounded somewhat like a very loud generator engine. Doug and I discussed the possible origin of the noise, concluding that there were no buildings within two miles.

The noise became louder and louder as I looked into the sky to see a circular object just above the tree tops (probably 60-80 feet). We never saw the top of the craft, but clearly saw six bright white circular lights shining from it's bottom surface and it was probably fifty feet in diameter . The craft hovered above us for less than one minute and during that time Doug and I both ran downhill as quickly as we could. I was not watching the craft as it departed, but did hear the noise end as quickly as it had started just about two to three minutes earlier.

In the summer of 1983 on a partial cloudy night around 8:30 PM, my cousin and I had a frightful experience, mine more frightful and unshakeable than hers. I was but twelve years old, my cousin two years older, and as we walked down to the gated community's (Lake of the Pines) clubhouse, we noticed the dogs that night barked more than what one would consider to be normal. It was on our return home at 8:30 PM that we both looked up into the night sky, and there passing between the break in clouds directly overhead from west to east ,making no sound, a long oblong shaped craft that would dwarf a conventional 747 aircraft. Located at the front of the craft on its side, a spectrum of bright colored rings reasembling a bull's eye. As the craft had passed we noticed that the dogs began to bark again, for all was quiet in that 45 seconds as it passed overhead. We also became aware after it was over, that neither one of us told the other to look up at the exact same time, at the exact same spot in the sky, we just did. My cousin has put this behind her, regarding it as a strange event. But my dreams of strange symbols and equations that make no sense to me, has never left my mind from that night forward. It helps my well-being to speak of this for the first time.

I was watching a late show one evening in 81/82 when I became aware of a very low basso tone. At first I wasn't thinking anything about it except how odd it was. But I continued to watch tv. As a little time progressed on the tone became deeper, stronger, and more insistant, much louder until it was rattling my glass table top and windows. At this I jumped up and ran for the sliding glass door to see if a Jumbo jet was going to land on my house. It sounded so low in the evening air. I knew we were on a flight path for Beale air force base and we were used to hearing planes now and again in the daytime but never this late at night. I was scared the sound was so invasive. As I launched myself out the back door I landed on a small concrete slab patio with a start as I tried to gauge where the sound was coming from. I looked up at a pine tree in our back yard tall or so and then swiveled toward the sound of the bass tone. As I turned looking up the whole time I could not believe what I was witnessing...there hanging no more than about 200 feet about the ground and moving at a smails pace was a cigar shaped gun metal toned UFO. I was dumfounded as I watched it inch thru the night sky. There were no other sounds but that deep bassso drone as it approached until it was right over my home, and partly obliterated by the roof of my house. Suddenly it stopped dead in the air and as it did so the drone stopped also. It was utterly quiet with not a bird, nor frog, no cricket. It was incredibly eerie! As I watched it just hang there in the void above me I searched its superstructure for some sign of familiarity with airplanes I was familiar with, but there were no wings, no propellars, no windows or portholes, no designs of any kind, just a long dark polished cigar shaped something right over my house dead still in the air. I had a long piece of property, longer than wide and it clearly could have spanned the length of a football field. I continued to watch it, I don't know how long, curious, and in w! ondermen t when suddenly one light ticked on and then off and a little ways away another came on and then off...this continued around the entire bottom of the middle half of the structure that had settled in above my house in a half circle arc and then it disappeared beyond the roof of my home until I finally saw the same light that had started it all tick on and off again and then with that a bright all encompassing light surrounded where I was standing and illuminated the top of my home. I remember thinking to myself "they've seen me" and this is where I have an odd double memory of what happened next, I remember wanting to jump out of the light, but I do not remember doing it. I remember staying there and looking into the light. I remember when just before the light came on there was an odd metallic sound like something industrial going on, but I did not see any opening. It was not a blinding light but it was without a doubt the brightest light I had ever seen and yet it did not hurt my eyes and I do not have a remembrance of even wanting to blink my eyes it was all so intrigueing to me. It was almost as tho the light itself was alive, it was filled with rianbows and small moving things, I can only liken it to looking at semen, or bacteria under a microscope, it moved fluidly. It was truly one of the most unique and beautiful things that I have ever seen.I felt an intense euphoria as I watched the motions within the light swirling about in slow motion. Just incredible sight. Very hypnotic, and calming. I do not know how long I stood there, it didn't seem like long but I was utterly entranced so who knows. After awhile the light went out with the same metalic sound, just blinked off. And immediately the ship began to move again, but in no more a hurry than it had been in coming and that basso profundo sound was back. I don't remember moving from the spot, I remember thinking I should run and get my husband so he could see this but I didn't do that and I cannot explain why, at least not until the ship had just p! ast the trees on the other side of our house. Then I ran into my house and tried to wake my husband up, which was a bit of a feat, and then he refused to go outside to see as this thing had not gotten far away by then, but he refused to go even tho he could hear the sound it mad. His sister who was visiting also did not wake up. After this my life turneds upside down as I began a feverish research into all kinds of things I had never been interested in before. My life has never been the same. After the incident I called up and reported the sighting to Beale Air Force base and inquired about the possibility of them having such a craft which they assured me that had not. Years later I was recounting the incident to a friend when my son of 17 walked thru the door and said "Oh, I remember that mom, I was watching from my window in the bedroom". Well he was barely 2 when this happend and I had never told him about it. But before I could get into the rest of the description he filled in the blanks with having seen the white light all around me and how it "danced" with rainbows and seeing me just stand there for the longest time staring at it, and then it going out and watching me watch it go. He saw all of that. It was a real shock to me...I mean I couldn'nt understand how a child of that age would remember such a thing, but he did. I have had other encounters, and many sightings, and strange phenomenon happen in my life, but this was one of the most life changing.

Grass Valley CA, early 80's - Silvery silent slow-flying torpedo-shaped UFO seen over tree-tops.

Recently realized I saw a UFO in the early 1980's and that it wasn't a low-flying, stealth military missile headed for the Pacific Ocean as I had concluded at the time. Was driving slowly on Wiley Lane, facing due north. A silver torpedo-shaped craft flew slowly and silently east-to-west just over the tree-tops, perhaps at 200ft. (Tall pines were growing on either side of the narrow street....appeared to be close to their tops.) There were no markings or windows or obvious sources of propulsion. Don't recall hearing any engine sounds. Was shocked that a military aircraft would be allowed to fly SO LOW over a populated area with the possibility of impacting buildings, tall trees or other small airborn aircraft!!! DISCLAIMER: Date-year is NOT exact (may be off by a year, before or after). Was definitely in spring or summer.
