White bright ufo appears on beach and flies overhead without noise

Hoping for some thoughts here. I was on the beach at Sunset in Encenitas, CA when i was tracking an orb far off behaving erratically. You’ll see in the video as i’m looking that way, an EXTREMELY bright light appeared on the beach very close and approached us. I honestly became very afraid and stopped filming it after i noticed because it was too close for comfort.

This blinding light approached us at incredibly low altitude, probably no more than 75 ft from the top of my head. I dismissed it as helicopter but there was nothing on radar, so i assumed it was military exercises in the area that weekend that were occurring. So i stopped filming thinking it was silly to film a helicopter.

However, when it flew over it was so bright I couldn’t tell what it was, and typically with helicopters yoi can certainly tell what it is, especially at dusk. I’m from NYC so i see them all the damn time overhead so i’m not mistaken.

The only thing i could see when i looked up was a break in the blinding light that looked like an undercarriage of some kind of craft i’ve never seen. the lights on the underside were glowing pink. And then it flew off.

I’m hoping it was a helicopter, but i don’t know. Wondering if anyone else had a prosaic explanation or experience seeing something similar at dust off the beach.

3 Orbs Planted in the sky like stars but upon video taping were multi colored changing shapes

I've seen these same objects multiple days in a row at the D Street Beach in Encinitas, CA, although most of the other nights it was only one of these multi-light shifting orbs, when last night I spotted 3. The three I eventually spotted were rather far out over the ocean—a few miles and were arranged in a perfect equilateral triangle with the apex the furthest out over the ocean. On other days I've had different friends who also witnessed the object(s) which have looked very similar—a brightly lit, multi-color orb that hovers and sometimes changes in shape, sometimes expands and contracts. And sometimes it is moving up the coast like a bright light. Before last night, 5/4/21, for the last 10 days, I had noticed only one of these orbs but in the same location, near where the star Sirius in the western night sky, which is also near the constellation Orion. The orb appears planted in the sky at about the same height as the normal flight path of the military he! licopters, or maybe a little higher, (which are out patrolling every single night) but the orbs were unmoving and almost disguised as a star. For a long time I didn’t notice it because it looked just like a brightly lit star but upon videotaping, it clearly is not a star. I've also videotaped it with helicopters flying past it, too, and it is definitely different than the helicopters. I've witnessed these orbs on different occasions off the coast of San Diego over the ocean, infrequently now for about a year, sometimes playing with the military, sometimes being followed by them, and sometimes much closer than they were last night, but haven’t made any reports until now. But now the frequency has changed dramatically as they have shown up every night. Last night the orbs were just planted in the sky and the military helicopters were ignoring them. The strange thing is how long they seem to just be planted there without moving—far longer than a helicopter or a drone can hover! , totally without sound, and the strangest part was that they’! ve been planted there for many days in a row. I start to notice them just as the sky gets dark enough. Unfortunately all of my videos are shaky and don’t show the way the orbs are just planted in the sky but the colors of the objects are dancing and shifting—you can see that much. I’ve ordered a new lens and tripod for my camera phone to continue collecting data which is very shocking to me. I was a big skeptic about all of this until I had other witnesses confirm. I fully expect them to be there again tonight. They have stayed in place without moving until I got tired and went home for the evening all of these nights. Last night I don’t recall missing time but I have had contact experiences in the past. The beach here where I live is very quiet and dark and private with tall hundred foot bluffs behind me. I generally watch the sunset on the beach every night and started seeing strange lights a year ago but for a long time believed it was just the military until some very strange th! ings happened—like the orbs sometimes shoot across the sky. I also saw a recent display of 4 or 5 of them together fading in and out disappearing and have that on video as well.

Fast-moving Light Cruising the Pacific Coast

While walking to my car at approximately 11:00 PM this last Tuesday (10/13), my girlfriend and I witnessed a very high-speed, reddish light going North to South along the Pacific coast. The light was rather dim, almost like seeing a fainter satellite traveling across the sky, but with a red tinge to it and traveling much faster than any satellite I have ever witnessed. I could not tell if it was something in the atmosphere like an aircraft or something in orbit like a satellite, but it had no discernible beacons or navigation lights like an aircraft and moved in a straight line for the 10 seconds or so that we witnessed it.

At 5 am, it was still dark. I looked up and from the northwest, traveling southeast I saw what I thought was a satellite. the more I watched I noticed another behind it, then another and another. I stopped counting at 23. there were more but the sun was rising and they got harder to see. There stayed almost the same distance apart. I saw no navigation lights, there no sound. I could not tell the altitude although it was lower than a satellite as I saw a satellite pass above them. it was moving south to north. the objects were bigger. I noticed another posting on 4/9/20 stating a similar appearance. Although I saw more of them than in the post from 4/9/20, it sounds like the same encounter.

Extremely High speed unknown heading west over head after impossiblr turns above SoCal.

At 76 years old, my first UFO. There is a space between some trees that when I sit on the patio, I can observe the sky for miles...planes all the time...choppers and private aircraft and way up in elevation the big commercial birds. I know the speeds of each as well as the sounds.

Tonight, it was WAY different. I was looking direct east, watching a light (per usual) traveling south to north over the mountains (big hills) to the direct east. It was going pretty fast for something observed at that distance...it gained altitude then hung a hard right descended somewhat and made a hard left right toward my position at shocking speed...it was over head and heading due west faster than anything I've EVER seen...and silent. The round light of it was somewhat diffused as if behind clouds but the sky is clear though somewhat bright due to light pollution from the nearby small shopping center. It passed over my 2 story building and beyond sight and would have been over the ocean within seconds going due west.

One thing for sure...what ever it was, was BLAZING fast...impossibly so. It was an object...it was flying and it remains unknown. One more thing off the bucket list!

Three light formation seen over San Diego night after SpaceX rocket

Seen over Encinitas boulevard two blocks up the road from Moonlight State Beach. First seen in the southeast corner of the sky, below Orion, but right of Sirius. It moved northwest and after approximately 10 seconds faded from view. It consisted of three white lights that appeared in a rigid formation like on the wingtips and nose of a chevron-shaped craft. No body was visible between the lights, even as they passed in front of a moonlit cloud. The motion of the lights seemed to suggest that the craft was relatively close to the ground, within drone flight range. If it was as close as it appeared to be, the wingspan would be well over 20 feet. It was also completely silent and was definitely close enough to have been heard if it was a drone or an airplane. It moved at a constant speed, fairly quickly, but slower than an airplane would be at that distance.

This also happened just over 24 hours after SpaceX launched a test rocket over San Diego, which many reported as a UFO.

Watching the air traffic off my porch in the dark of night, I suddenly saw a trail of 3 bright orange lights in a streamlined pattern moving from north to south (only a few inches of sight). Then the lights disappeared, and re showed on the same path on 10 seconds later, the same three bright orange lines in row similar to a lane markings on a highway. Then never showed again…

On October 16, 2016, shortly after 2 pm, I was laying on my back looking straight up into a partly clouded blue sky. High, lacy static cirrus clouds, and some scattered low coastal marine layer puffy cloud, drifting easterly.

Observed a deep, deep pure black dot moving southeast to northwest, above sparse coastal clouds and below very high cirrus layer. Black dot moved swiftly and silently. I have never seen an object of ANY altitude that displayed a deep black image. It seemed to move not in a straight line but displayed an imperfect line of travel (setting itself apart from high altitude aircraft or Earth orbiting objects). Observation lasted maybe 5 to 7 seconds. Difficult to estimate size of object due to altitude. But off the cuff, would speculate it was maybe 10 to 30 meters in diameter.

White slow moving light leaves a glowing green trail low over Leucadia

A star-like light began to glow with intensity as it slowly moved directly over the coast at Leucadia, at the northern end of Encinitas at around 6:00pm, at what appeared to be about 1000 feet. It moved slowly north and the light lost intensity over a period of a minute or two. As it moved the light left a green glowing trail where it had gained intensity. As it moved it faded into the fog.

Three dancing lights.

A friend I were walking down the 101 in downtown Encinitas, when I noticed three bright lights staggered vertically and stationary that were hovering over mountains looking East.

They seemed strange so I watched them for two minutes or so before the bottom two started moving horizontally back and forth, slightly out of synch, as if the middle light was following the bottom light.

The mountains were probably around 2.5 miles from us and the lights were hanging rather close from my perspective.

The movement was so bizarre I alerted my friend and we both watched them for another couple of minutes, before the highest light started moving back and forth horizontally as well, but more slowly than the bottom two. It's as if the lights were dancing or playing with each other.

This went on for at least 25 mins before we just gave up looking at them.

Two low bright lights hovering / moving back and forth off the 5 in Encinitas; 3:15am

Traveling down the 5 heading south at three in the morning. There was overcast so there were no stars out. I noticed two orbs of light twinkling. They seemed rather close so I took the next exit and worked my way back to them.

As soon as they were visible I parked on the side of the road next to Scripps Memorial Hospital (never been in this area so it was the only landmark I noticed). I watched them glide back and forth and decided to get a closer look. At the intersection of Melba and San Dieguito I parked and the pure white lights were directly above me... not positive how high but not terribly high.... They gave off a solid color but would grow brighter...pulsing, never going dim. After losing my nerve I retreated to the memorial parking lot where I watched them until they flew away.

These lights were not moving as an aircraft does, nor did they make a sound like a helicopter (or any sound for that matter).

After I couldn't see them from the parking lot I went back to the intersection amd got a glimpse of them going further out towards the ocean. That was the last I saw of them.

Glowing/pulsating orange light, moving quickly & erratically in San Diego, CA

I am an amateur astronomer and member of the local major astronomy association and was with a group of 7 people including myself doing some stargazing in this perfect cloudless, moonless night. We were busy looking at the Andromeda Galaxy at the moment. The night was getting cold and one member of the group asked if I had a spare jacket. So she and I started back towards my car to grab it. We were about 100 feet from the observing sight when the rest of the group started calling & shouting out for us to look up!! There it was, at about 9:20pm pacific time around 30 degrees up in the southwestern sky; a deep orange glowing/pulsating light. At first I thought it was a meteor burning up but then it changed directions! We ran back to the observing sight all the while this object was zig-zagging in the sky. I loosened the grips of the telescope and tried to view the object more closely. I managed to see it in the finder scope. I couldn’t tell the shape of the actual “ship” but there was a dark spot surrounded by a deep orange light and it was indeed moving around left, right, up & down.

I had chills running though my body! The rest of the group was equally stunned.

The total time it was there was probably close to 2 minutes before it just disappeared.

Very creepy! It certainly is the strangest thing I have seen in the night sky in all my stargazing!

It was broad daylight, about 2ish in the afternoon.

My ex boyfriend and I were sitting on the edge of the bluff right next to these old abandoned apartments. (At that time they were unoccupied, I'm not sure if that space is rebuilt now.)

We sat there for about 5 minutes before we both looked up and saw a very large, silver disk shaped aircraft right above our heads. There were multiple colored lights (red, green, orange) on the underside of the craft. It literally looked like a silver ufo out of a movie. The craft also seemed to be hovering in place with no sound. It hovered above us for at least 5 minutes or so. We couldn't believe it stayed there for so long. It then disappeared extremely fast toward the ocean but we couldn't see the path it took. It just disappeared. We immediately got up and ran toward the car and called it in to see if anyone else had seen anything like it. To this day I still remember very clearly what it looked like. I haven't seen anything like it since. This was the second unidentified sighting I have seen in that area.

If anyone else has seen something similar to this, I would be open to talking about it!

I just submitted another story about a disk sighting that my same ex boyfriend and I witnessed about a month after this sighting. Both sightings were in the same area. One in broad daylight, this one late at night.

I was with my ex boyfriend sitting on the edge of the bluffs next to these abandoned apartments. (The exact same spot as my last report). This was about a month prior to the second sighting. We were there for about 30 minutes smoking cigarettes and talking when we noticed 3 orbs of light floating above the ocean.

They started in a triangle shape and held there for about 2 minutes. It was odd to see a literal triangle shape of lights just floating there above the ocean. Like deep out there.

After about 2 minutes, the 3 orbs started to move in circle motions and then crossing over each other, 3 turned into 5 and then into 7 and back into 3. The movements and orbs multiplying and them coming back into 3 was so bizarre.
We sat there for at least 10 minutes watching these lights. I actually had my phone out and recording these orbs. I had a 10 minute video capturing the orbs and their movements. The lights then disappeared, they didn't zoom off or anything, just turned off like a light switch.

We left shortly after and called it in to see if anyone else had seen the same orbs. The person on the line told us they had a few calls just before we called it in.

I later posted the video on Facebook to see if anyone knew or had seen anything like it. My video post was up for about a year and one day said the "video is unavailable for viewing". To this day I can't find the video and I still can't see it on my Facebook. Very strange!

Literally discussing whether ufos existe or not with a colleague while observing the stars (colleague is or "was" a major skeptic, but i know were not Alone!).

A few minutes past and i notice 2 glowing orange orbes traveling in a sort of formation from southeast to northwest. We thought Maybe they were justa couple navy jets far off in the distance, which made them look like flying lights.

But then, as they were moving along just over the treetops, there was one tree that was much taller than the rest. My eyes, expecting to lose them once they moved behind this large tree were amazed when they passed in front of the tree. They were just a couple hundred rest away, made no noise, i didnt notice any sort of structure or mechanisms, it was just the 2 fiery orange orbes in syncronized flight!

Then starting ascending a little bit, when all the sudden they just vanished. It was like they realized we were looking at them, and so they just hit the invisibility button and vanished!

08/12/2011 viewed eight lights and the next night at same time one light.

8/13/2011 On 08/12/2011 9:00pm. W Walking south on Neptune Ave in Encinitas, Ca we observed two bright lights and one or three tiny lights in the sky at about 15 to 20 degrees up from the horizon. I later discerned with a compass we were looking 310 degrees south east. The two main lights were very close to each other and not moving or making any sound. The small lighst were moving up toward the other two. Eventually the small lights vanished one at a time, then the left light of the pair of stationery lights began to grow dim and eventually dimish but this time I noticed it seemed to be traveling in a straight line away from my line of sight so there was no perception of it moving in any other direction but just getting tiny going straight away from me and finally disappearing.

As we were observing the behavior of these five ufos two more very bright ones were approaching from the south paired togerher as if hugging the coast line. The spacing of them and intensity was the same as the first bright pair. As they approached a position in a line under the first pair but they the lower slowly ascended toward the position of the first two. Then the top two began to flicker dim and then move straight away from my eye line like the others. First it was the left one then the right. Then the two new lights rose up and took the same positions as the earlier two. At his time another pair just like the last pair appeared coming up the coast from the south. And repeated the behavior of the last two. Within the span of ten to fifteen minutes they were all gone.

I shot video of the event with my phone and you can see the pair of lights and hear the commentary of myself and 5 or 6 other witnesses on the street.

My impression of the event was that I was observing an airport runway with planes queing up for take off.

The lights looked very similar to videos of the very well documented sightings in Arizona. Orangish yellow.

08/13/2011 9:10pm. We went to the same sight as the night before at 9:00 to see if the ufos appeared there again. It was more overcast then the night before. Nothing. But as we were leaving about 9:10 a single light appeared moving up from the south again, took the same position as the others did the night before, hung there for the same amount of time and then diminished and disappeared the same as the others had the night before. I shot video again of this ufo.

triangle of lights fly over Swami's point in the evening

Looking up at a 45 degree angle on the stars I saw 3 moving in parallel across the sky. They were in pretty much an equilateral triangle shape. It went right over Swami’s Point surf spot paraellling the coastline which is pretty much due north. I see many planes and choppers fly over this path at apparently the same height & speed during the day and at night so I know this well visually and sonically. The height & speed seemed about the same. ~100MPH about 100ft over the cliff top & 100ft out from the cliff or 150ft above the ocean so the path is actually over the surf zone. It was very quiet at the time and at this close distance or even if it was much further away and much larger it would be easily audible if it were a plane, or copper (there would also be running lights and the aircraft would be somewhat visible even with all lights out. The triangle was about visually the size of my fist at full arms’ extension. If it were 150 feet from me ! (I was about 100ft from the cliff edge) I’d guesstimate that it was roughly 50 ft on each edge of the triangle. There were patchy clouds from the receding storm about 1,500 feet I’d guess and this thing was clearly below this. If it was actually at 600 ft then it would be about 600 feet out from the cliff and would be dramatically larger (hundreds of feet on each side of the triangle.

The lights were quite dim, about the same as a common star with no flashing or special color (just white). There were no other lights on it and just a very subtle darkening between the lights. Again, it made absolutely no sound. This object would not be easy to notice even at this close distance and if it were much higher it could fly unnoticed over anywhere.

solid reddish orb, no lights 100 feet up and northbound at about 30mph.

saw sphere with solid red exterior hover silently and fast northbound. I was sitting in the dark with my wife outside and my eye caught the gleam of street lights reflecting off of the sphere. It was approximately 100 feet from the ground and had no lights of any kind. I would say it was a balloon, but it was moving at about 30 miles an hour in a straight line north while the wind was blowing perpendicularly from the east.

7-photo sequence of flying object, Encinitas CA Jan 10 2007

I was photographing the ocean sunset when I saw the object approaching. I pointed my camera (an 8 megapixel digital) at the object and took a sequence of seven photographs. One image in the sequence shows a red light. When I loaded the images into my computer and saw them on the screen, I noticed that the light is not blurred by motion. This would indicate to me that the object I photographed is not blurred by motion. The images show that the object was not a helicopter or an airplane. (It made no audible sound). And, as far as I'm aware, cruise missiles (and other flying objects of that type) are not equipped with lights.

Big green fireball fell into ocean near Carlsbad/Oceanside, CA at 23:12, 01/04/2006

At around 11 PM on 1/4/06 I was driving with my girlfriend in the passenger seat, going west towards the Ocean on Encinitas Blvd. We were heading to the beach to park there, when just before coming to the intersecion of Encinitas Blvd and Coast Hwy 101, my girlfriend and I witnessed a huge and close green fireball. The ball was about half size in relation to the moon and the tail/flame was about 20 moon lenghts or if the fireball was about a mile or less away (as it appeared to be so) then the tail length may have been about half a mile long. My girlfriend also said she saw a few other colors (besides green) like blue and orange. After we saw it, we went to park and hoped to see maybe more of them, or a meteor shower if it was a meteor. We saw another person standing, a woman who we talked to - she said she witnessed it also and heard a boom in the ocean where it had crashed - she thought it was "the military doing something strange". Shortly after the fireball, maybe 5-10 minutes later I saw a silent helicopter going along the coast, shining a light on the surface of the ocean.

We left and went a few blocks away, close to my home on Vulcan ave in Encinitas. We sat in the car and talked about it, then my girlfriend looked up at the sky and noticed a long, thin trail of dust or cloud going in the same direction and angle as the fireball we saw. We watched it all night and it eventually grew bigger and dissapated. I have never seen a fireball like that before...

On beach north of San Diego, a multi-color light cluster appears in southern sky, strobing, drifting silently east.

Myself and four other friends where sitting/lying on the beach sand.

The sky was partly cloudy, perhaps 30% clouds dispersed. Stars shown and the full moon rising, no wind, temperature in upper 60's/lower 70's (F). Southwest facing beach. A tight cluster of lights appears in the southern sky, low altitude, moving from west to east. four or five distinct pinpoint lights, all different colors: blue, green, red, yellow... blinking/pulsing.... the cluster drifting east, erradic course jogging up a little then down a little, always moving east. The rapid strobing lights forcing my mind into non-thinking trance state. I knew at the time that this was an intelligent occurance, that it was for transmittion to me(if not others).

After a few miniutes the cluster suddenly vanishes. I then look up at the night sky and see that wherever I look, tiny strobing pinpoint lights flash at me. I keep looking in different sectors of sky and see this same responce. As soon as I look, they flash at me, when I look away, they stop. This second phase lasts 10 to 15 min. then the sky quickly fills in with clouds. Two of my freinds, I was able to direct their attention and they saw this first phase. The other two friends where occupied.

Triangular object with three LARGE, white lights seen on Easter night

Standing on the beach at 9:07 pm I noticed lights moving across the sky. I looked up to see a single triangular craft with 60 degree angles, rounded corners and three LARGE(each light was at least 1/10 the size of the entire craft) white lights located on the bottom of the object centered toward each corner. The object followed a near straight path from South to North about 1,000 ft. up and just off the Pacific coast. It seemed to be moving faster than a commercial jet, but was two to three times as large, and made no sound that I could hear. It had no visible wings or tail, but flew with the triangle pointed in the direction of flight.

I am 22 years old. Male. I got my associates degree two years ago. I have lived in California the past 2 years.

A massive 2 football fields sized low flying UFO slowly & silently sailed over us & out over the ocean as we were taking a walk

My unidentified flying object experience:

On a night in 2002, my boyfriend and I were walking from our apartment on Florita Avenue Encinitas California to Stone Steps beach overlook on the ocean bluff frontage street of Neptune Avenue in Encinitas. It was approximately 10 pm. We were at the intersection of Roseta Street which dead ends at the ocean bluff) We often walked to either Roseta street bluff overlook or Stone Steps overlook a lot of nights - to get out of the house and talk a walk and look at the moon out over the ocean.

On this night, as we got to Roseta Street, we heard a bird squawk very loudly overhead. It’s unusual to hear a bird at night … and it startled us. We both looked up … and saw the UFO and we were astonished.

I said to him: "Do you see that?!" He answered "yes" and we watched as it passed over our heads and we turned to follow it and watched its path out over the ocean. When we arrived home a short while later, he sketched it on the chalkboard in his studio and it was identical to what I saw. The UFO was more rectangular than square; irregular shaped, meaning not a perfect rectangle because there were angles cut in. It had identical left and right sides with 2 sections cut in (but not winglike!) and the front was angled about 35 degrees on both sides. It was huge! Like 2 football fields size huge -from our point of view, being directly underneath it and it low enough to see some of its details as it seemed to silently slowly smoothly sail right over us! NO lights - NO engine sound.

It was black like the night sky and lit only by the city lights/ street lights/ moonlight. It was very low but when it went under a cloud, it seemed to change color to match the cloud for a split second, then back to black. It was completely silent, but when it passed over us, we could hear the sound of air movement. It was traveling slow enough and low enough to make out the shape and its overwhelming size!

We were walking south to north on Neptune and it came over us from inland - flying in a south east to north west flight pattern so it went over our heads diagonally out over the ocean. We quickly walked the few feet to the dead end at Rosetta St and watched out over the bluff until we could no longer see it as it flew northwest out over the ocean.

We waited a couple of years before we told anyone about it. I would be interested to know if anyone else reported anything similar in that time frame. I am willing to speak with someone about it, but would not like by full name or my personal address to be released publicly.

huge bright object dropping toward the ocean or horizon?

i was in our living room, which has a view of the pacific, and glanced out the sliding glass doors as a very bright flash shaped like a wide diamond plummetted extremely fast toward the water! it was either really huge or really close. i yelled out did any of my roommates just see that?, and our friend who was visiting said it was totally strange because his roommate (two doors down/ ocean view again) had seen the same thing the night before! wow! it happened so fast! it was so bright like blueish brilliant white. the shape is hard to explain, wide but pointed up and down (diamond?). it seemed like there were spaces at the top and bottom... like slices of emptyness. at work yesterday morning, i told my coworkers, and apparently my very respectable boss saw it as well! we agreed it was no shooting star.

A ball of orange light, 5X apparent size of a star. Drifted SW towards E. No flashing lights. Soundless except for once when it seemed to drop shower of sparks or more lights - popping sound, as if fire-crackers. 2nd time it did this (no sound noticed) I had binocs on it - looked like it dropped 3 smaller lights, which vanished. At end, object seemed to go directly South, then faded & winked out. A plane in same general area later made obvious sound.

About 1:10 am, April 8, 1999. Night exceptionally clear (and cold by Southern California standards) I was about to go to bed, but I happened to glance out kitchen window, which looks West. Saw a spot of orange light to SW at about 40 degrees above horizon. I went out on front deck, it was still there, but had moved even in that short time, heading East across South arc of sky. As it was cold, I went in house, grabbed my bathrobe and a pair of binoculars. The object appeared to be about 5 times apparent size of a large star, larger than a light of a plane would be. Color was orange - like the color of those supposedly fog-cutting street-lights (if you know what I mean). There were no flashing lights, just a steady glow. Twice it appeared to drop a series of lights from bottom. The first time, with naked eye, it looked like a shower of sparks. I thought I heard popping sounds, like distant fire-crackers. This was odd, because otherwise, the whole display was absolutly soundless. The second time I had my binoculars on it - it seemed to drop 3 seperate small balls of light, same color as main object. These small lights disappeared or winked out. I don't remember popping sounds the second time. The object had by this time traversed the sky from SW to a point directly south of me. The movement was not direct and purposfull like a plane, rather, it was more like drifting. At the end, it seemed like it was heading directly South. It faded a few times and then disappeared or winked-out. The only other detail I can think of to mention here is that I seemed to see several spikes projecting from the bottom of the object - this may be an artifact of scratches on my glasses or the general effect of looking at lights in the sky. The whole episode lasted 7-10 minutes. A few minutes later, a plane flew by in the same general area - compared to object, the plane was swifter, smaller, had flashing lights, and made obvious sound. What might it have been? The only conventional explanations I can think of are: 1-- a hot-air b! alloon (these are common in our area as a tourist attraction, thought not at night - I'm sure there's a law against that for safty reasons); it was silent, the large orange ball effect could have been the fire reflecting off and through the balloon itself, the dropping lights might have been sparks or falling, burning debris. There was no news report today of such an incident - and our local news loves balloon disasters. 2-- a flare drifting on a balloon or parachute, although a flare probably would not appear so large, and why would it be up there in the first place? I was the only observer - only my cat can verify that I was outside with binoculars late at night. Cardiff By The Sea is almost exactly 25 miles North of down-town San Diego and 20 miles or so South of Camp Pendelton, a large Marine Base. We can often hear shelling, and sometimes sonic booms from Camp Pendelton or other nearby Millitary installations. My house is about a mile or two from the coast. I am a single, University-educated male, age 36.

I heard on the artbell show that a police officer in the Los Angeles coastal area flying in a helicopter had an encounter with an orange object. One night about a week ago while driving home from work I saw this same object in the north western sky while northbound on I-5, It was moving almost as a helicopter would but it was orange with no other color lights that I could see. It was only a mile or two off of the coast of north San Diego County and I thought it was a planet at first but the orange object was circling in the sky over a distance of several miles perhaps, I have 20-15 vision with both eyes and I had my window open and saw it clearly. I waved to it and said to the object "hey fellars come on down" then I got a strange feeling as if the occupants heard me and were amused

When we were about 17-18, a friend and I had just got out of my truck and walked to the edge of the Cardiff cliffs when all of the sudden, right in front of us was a flying saucer (about the size of 2 semi trucks) just hovering (seemed to be rotating) there, in place, above the water. Before we could say anything, it took to flight as fast as anything I ever saw move, heading South kinda zigzag motion, up into the horizon until it got so small, it disappeared. We looked around to see if there were others on the beach or anywhere to ask if they saw what we saw, but there was nobody else in sight, which was weird. Intense bright light flashed into our tent.

After pitching the tent went down to the beach for a short walk. I remember looking up at the stars and noticed that this one star began to move. It would stop and then move again. Didn’t think much of it so we headed back up to camp. The four of us just talking, laughing when out of nowhere this flash of light comes in from the top of the tent. I jumped out the tent expecting to see some guys pranking us. I saw no one. Oh well, back into the tent. Just as I was about to sit down it hit again! I’m standing outside thinking these idiot’s are fast runners. So the next two time’s there was a break of maybe five minutes or more. Come the morning no one really took it any further, we just wanted to get home. And home was about a two hour drive. Well, the following week-end I invited my same friend’s over to my house. The four of us sat on this picnic bench and we are facing South. The weather was clear skies and it was just about sunset. There it was right behind us! Lit up the entire back yard and there it was! There was nothing there or anywhere. Now we were spooked. What in the world followed us or tracked us all the way home? So now we are telling family and other friends and they think the four of us have gone bananas. Ok now, that was not the end of it. Two of us are invited to a party the next town over, A couple of weeks had gone by since the last event so it was pushed to the back of my mind. The party was at an apartment. The living room opened up to the kitchen which had one small window and the back door opened out into the alley. There was a few people gathered in the kitchen. And then it happened. It came in from the kitchen window and lit up the entire apartment. One guy flew out the back door and came back in just dumbfounded. He’s telling everyone there is nothing outside. They didn’t think we were bananas after that. What was really weird was the sound it made. Sounded just like the shutter from a camera. Weird. Anyway, that all happened when I was in my early twenties. I’m seventy nowadays. I not looking for your team to investigate this. Just wondering if you have run across anything like this? I’m afraid I have to stop here gotta take my dog for a ride. I have more to tell. So if interested let me know.
