Glowing and moved up but not side to side - thought it may be a hot air balloon but didn’t look like one and was too high and night time

Saw circular object glowing a few thousand feet above our house. Grabbed my telephoto lense and shot the attached picture. Object continued to rise. To the naked eye I thought it may be a hot air balloon, but it was extremely high and it was getting dark out. Once I took the picture, I was able to zoom in and see that it didn’t resemble a hot air balloon. After about 20 minutes it was too high to see.

Noticed two lights at approximately 30000ft. one above the other red and white in the east sky at an elevation of approximately 20° above the horizon. The lights made small circles and then moved horizontally in a zigzag pattern and then at a slight angle of maybe 30° going towards the north east direction and then rested at a possible 40° elevation above the horizon.

Green light streaks through the night sky in Maine.

Driving home tonight to a huge full moon to my left, in the sky in front of me appeared a very bright green light streaking across the sky faster than any craft I have ever seen. The lights were not blinking like they do on a normal aircraft. This light traveled for a second or two in one direction and then suddenly, without warning, changes directions and travels straight up towards the stars and gets smaller and smaller until it vanishes.

EXTREMELY BRIGHT AND HUGE LIGHT OVER WATERVILLE, NY

A friend and I were traveling home tonight around 730 pm on rt 12 s. As we got closer to Waterville we noticed this really big bright light just above the radio towers, (dont know how long it was there before we seen it) that are in between rt 20 w and 12s some what near the first set of wind mills, it looked. as we kept watching for about 10 mins, as it got lower and lower. Then disappeared below the tree line. This light was absolutley, not a plane or a star at all!! We could not tell the shape with the naked eye. Just a huge and extremely bright light,slowly going down.

8 parallel orange glowing lights in Waterville night sky 11-1-12

8 circular balls of light moving in unison. They were orange/fire in color. I noticed the lights rising higher in sky at almost equal distances apart in 2 lines running parallel.

They seemed to hang in place like a flare would. One side elevated and lights moved slowly across the sky keeping the line formation.

I was looking up across a parking lot in the evening sky. Noticed the lights. Initially based on its movement I was thinking that it must be parachuters with lights or flames, but realized it couldn't be as they were too precise and there was no plane.

It was just above a distant tree line stationed over what could have been the freeway or mid section of the city or perhaps the Colby campus.

I moved from spot to go up the street to see better and they were gone completely.

I am a star gazer and look up every night of my life, I have never seen anything like this here or anywhere else for that matter.

Nov 1, 2012, 7:20 pm I was just leaving the drive thru at a wendy's fast food restaurant in waterville maine when the teller at the window was looking up over my vehicle saying what is that I could not see what she was looking at so I pulled forward and got out of my jeep and looked toward the sky .

I could see something so I got back in my jeep and pulled out of wendys and drove down to the VIP parking lot where my daughter and I got outof my jeep I was shocked and amazed to what I was looking at 20 or more glowing orbs or objects that looked like bright orange stars flying around the sky

I asked my daughter can you see that she said, "Yes, daddy are them aliens."

I tried to get pics on my cellphone but I could not zoom in enough the lights were coming from over the ruby tuesday area and heading in a northern direction toward bangor I could see them dissapearing behind clouds and lost sight of them They were there for about 10 mins or so then gone

A city official driving home with his daughter Thursday night saw strange orange-colored balls of light in the night sky over Waterville and called the Bangor Daily News to find out what it was.

Shawn Yardley, director of the city’s Department of Health and Community Services, described what the two saw as "bright orange dots at cloud level."

"They looked like Christmas lights, but they were orange," he said Friday, still looking for answers to what he witnessed. "They took up about a quarter-mile of sky and they stayed in place. It wasn’t fireworks, because they stayed in place."

Yardley was on Interstate 95 near Waterville and said the fire-colored orbs could be seen on the Oakland side of the highway.

"People were pulling off the road to look at them," he said. "If my daughter hadn’t been there to witness the same thing, I would not have called. I’ve never reported anything like this."

Police and fire officials in Waterville, Winslow and Oakland, as well as the Maine State Police, said they took no reports of balls of light in the night sky, and the National Weather Service reported no unusual weather that could account for the lights.

"A string of lights [in the sky] is a very common UFO report," Alan Davenport, director of the University of Maine’s Jordan Planetarium, said Friday.

Some prior UFO reports have proved to be aircraft flying away, he said. They appear to be stationary because they are so far away.

"That is what their taillights would look like," Davenport said.

Yardley’s wife, Rita, asked him why he didn’t take a picture of the balls of light with his cellphone, and he said he couldn’t because "I was on the phone."

The National UFO Reporting Center, which has nine postings on its website from Maine for October, has taken reports of orange "fireballs" from all over the world. There were no postings on the website for Thursday night.

There also are a couple of YouTube videos posted of people filming orange lights in the sky.
Yardley said he’s not sure what he and his daughter saw, but he did expect others in the area to file reports.

"I got up this morning and assumed it would be in the newspaper and on TV," he said.

3 of us spotted several objects at night, appearing and disppearing, then appearing and disppearing.

AT 8:15pm, standing in the parking lot between Walmart and Home Depot,a person called out to me, look[pointing to the sky]southeast direction.

There was a high flying object,moving in one direction, orange. It traveled some,then disappeared. Then there were 3 flying in format, then disappeared. Then 5 objects ,then disappeared. There objects kept appearing and disappearing. There was no sound. i guess they could be helicopters as a logical explanation, but because they were so big, then disappearing and reappearing,then disappearing,then very high up in the sky, then low to the ground in seconds, they looked very odd. Tonight there was a full moon out. I wished there was not otherwise we may have called the cops. I swear on my fathers grave,every thing i say is true.

Movment in the sky

Well, I just went out side to smoke a cigarette with me girl friend and I happen to look up. I saw something in the sky. I look just like a star, but was moving very fast. There were no blinking light, just a steady constant beam. It was not a plain or anything that we have created. I grew up on an air force base, so I know that is was the unknown.

The object didn’t give off a noise, and was too high. I wish I only new.

I have seen more around here, about the same concept as this one. They are just lower and brighter. Thank you.

fast rice shaped craft seen

Hello,

On aug.14th, 2010, at approx.3:30pm, sunny calm sky’s I was working on my cabin, located at the top of Badger mountain, Douglas county, Washington state, elevation 4160feet, when I saw something out of the corner of my eye flying over head at a very high rate of speed, much, much faster than any airplane, it was whiteish, metallic looking, and it looked kinda like a piece of rice, I think because of the distance between me and it, I’m thinking about a half mile to a mile away, it was really moving, never seen anything like it, have you ever heard of other reports from the area, I have heard of the Waterville spook lights, but this was in daylight. it defiantly looked like some sort of craft with no wings, and no contrail, moving at a very high rate of speed.

Bright orange circular object in Waterville, Ohio, sky

On July 10, 2010 in Waterville, Ohio at approximately 11:00pm - 11:10 pm, my sister and I witnessed what looked like a large bright, orange, circular object moving slowly through the sky. It was moving Southwest ( from the left to the right) at a slow but steady speed. The bright light seemed to steadily fade or diminish to a small star-like object as it moved further away.

From the time that we noticed the object, the bright orange light lasted approximately two to three minutes until it faded into the bright star-like object.

We continued to watch the object for approximately another four minutes until it disappeared out of sight.

Myself 51 y.o male and 16 y.o. stepson were on back deck I observed a highly polished silver objest appearing to have flat bottom and round on top,it had no tail, no wings, no blades and only a slight hum for sound as it passed directly overhead on the horizon it took approximately 10 seconds from time spotted until it dissapeared on opposite horizon I believe east to west in direction.

Orange light, ISS-like in magnitude and motion.

After the local fireworks display, I noticed a bright light (maybe -1.0 magnitude or "Venus bright") in the southern sky, SSW of our location. Speed and trajectory was similar to ISS and other satellite flyovers, but the color was bright orange and didn't appear to change (i.e., no flashing).

The light continued in a northernly direction, passing to the west of us and maybe an altitude of 70 degrees or so. Somewhere in the NW direction, it faded in very much the same way that satellites do when they enter the Earth's shadow.

Total observation time seemed to be 1-2 minutes, with the light maintaining its magnitude the entire time, except at the end when it quickly faded and disappeared. The orange coloring seemed to be the oddest part, and given the time of day, I could see how this could be red sunlight from below the horizon glinting off of a satellite (though the length of time and the prolonged intensity makes me doubt this).

There was no sound detected.

The sky was overcast, and the position of the moon could be easily determined, but no features could be made out through the clouds. The orange light was clear enough to appear to be beneath the clouds, but there was no way to determine for sure whether the cloud cover extended across the entire sky (i.e., it's possible that there were clouds blocking the moon, but not this light). Intellicast.com is reporting the ceiling at 8000'.

Three of the adults present, myself included, have worked in the air freight industry, and are familiar with witnessing commercial aircraft on approach from 10 miles out and closer. We all tried to debunk this as an aircraft, but could not detect any indicator of such, like wing markers or red strobe lights (especially as the light moved in relation to us, where such indicators should have became apparent).

When I returned home, I verified that ISS was not in the area using heavens-above.com. A search for "UFO" on Twitter.com showed several similar reports around the same timeframe.

We saw multiple crafts in the air, flying in a V formation, along with several others.

Around 2004, my brother and I witnessed several crafts scanning the neighborhood with orange-red beams, similar to a helicopter's spotlight but completely silent. One of the crafts was about the size of a football field.

We never spoke about it until now, but with similar sightings happening everywhere, my brother is finally talking about it. He can now provide exact details of what we saw.

i was on my porch waiting for my girlfriend to get out of the shower. watching the sky for ten minutes i saw five lighted cross shaped machines flying low in the distance.. i ran inside yelled to my girl to look at them she did and got scared, scared stiff. they hovered in on spot for approx 20 minutes there were five of them. after that period of time they slowly turned to the west and glided away. there was six lights on each craft. it scared my girl so much see shiverd all night.

I was looking up into the night sky at the big dipper,it was to my north west.all of a sudden from out of the center of the big dipper( in the middle of the 4 stars that make up the pan)came a tiny white star looking spot that looked like a star,it was very far up there.silently,i watched it go from the big dipper,straight towards the southeast to Orions Belt.it wes moving faster than a plane and i kept saying to my self that it wasn't blinking. i was trying to see if it was blinking,it wasn't.this actually lasted about 20 seconds to a min. maybe.i was very excited.now that i know that this web sight is here i'll use it when i see things...Thank You

On the evening that my son and I saw what I could not explain,we were sitting on my front steps looking towards the east.my son had gotten into the habit of looking for falling stars each evening and that night as we were looking in the sky we saw a bright point of light that came in from the southeast and was heading towards the northwest.It was traveling quite high and also very fast.It had traveled at least one quarter of the horizon when it came to a stop and than two points of light detached from either side and went in opposite directions while the first light continued on its original course.

While driving on rt 95 I saw a wing shaped craft with only about 8 or 9 white lights on the bottom visible to me. It was about 70 or 80 yards wide and flew making no noise. It was about 50 yards above the ground slowly flying parallel to the ground across the highway and flew almost straight over my car. I was so amazed I pulled my car over and got out of my car and was freaked out to hear absolutely no noise made by it even though I was very close to it.

Round blue circular object hovers and dissolves in Maine.

I was about 12 years old delivering newspapers early in the morning in late September 1965(?). It was completely dark. I was standing at the entrance road to the old Averill School on Oakland St. when I looked up in the sky toward the south and saw a round blue circular object. At first I thought it was the moon but it was 3 or 4 times larger than the moon appears in the sky and it was a solid blue color. It did not move at all and there was no sound coming from it. There were no lights on it but it seemed to produce its own light. In other words, it didn't seem as if it were illuminated by any kind of reflected light. The object was a perfect circle and completely opaque. As I saw it, it appeared two-dimensional in the sky as the moon does. After a few minutes it began to dissolve. I'm pretty sure that it maintained its shape while it dissolved. I noticed at one point while it was dissolving that I could see stars behind it which I couldn't see a few minutes before. It eventually dissolved completely. I wondered if it might be a natural organic phenomenon of some kind but it seems to me such a thing would not be perfectly round. I would like to know if anyone else has ever seen anything like this.

i dont remember going to my room but when i woke up i went to the site at the end of the drive hidden by the high pile of snow and there was a,almost an egg shape on the ground snow was melted by the heat of the craft and the grass was burned all black there must be a way to take a sample of the dirt and send it to the university and test it to see if was exposed to high temps
