Unidentifiable object flying across the sky.

My husband and I walked out of the house and saw an illuminated round object flying across the ski. It was round and orangey red glow.

We watched it fly or glide across the ski till we couldn't see it anymore. I was frightened and wanted to leave quick. Wondering what we saw but I could say a ufo because I'm not sure what it was. Don't want to see that again!!!!!!!!

Orange Glowing Lights over East Long Island.

Was outside home smoking when I noticed a roundish orange/yellow ball, no sound, moving smoothly and quick across the night sky from the northwest to southeast. I immediately new this was not an ordinary aircraft and ran in the house and called for my children to hurry outside. While watching the 1st object another followed in the same flight path a few minutes later, quickly followed by another. There was no sound! No flashing lights! Moved to smooth and fast for a plane or helicopter. They looked like orange fiery balls of light!

Ended up seeing a total of 5 over a 20 minute period.

Have photos and some video. I (we) have never seen anything like this. I am skeptical usually and am not someone who WANTS to find or see something but this has me really wondering what I saw.

Fireball moving silently across the sky.

At approximately 9:50 pm, my family and neighbors were returning from dinner. My daughter noticed something in the sky and called all of our attentions to it. We all looked up and saw above our homes, a little to the south, there was what looked to be basketball-sized, almost clear shape with what looked something like a fire burning inside. Similar to what you would imagine a hot air balloon flame might look like, but smaller. It was much lower than a plane would fly.

The edges were not solid and it moved at a steady speed in an East North East direction. The flame inside the "ball" seemed to flicker and change between a reddish and orange color, and it was completely silent. It moved very straight, and may have moved higher but it was hard to tell. We all watched it until it disappeared behind the tree line, which is probably close to a mile away.

I have to add that it is an extremely clear night with many visible stars. We live in an open area without a lot of lights, so the night sky is very visible. There was also no wind whatsoever. The object seemed to be something very light. almost like floating but with direction and purpose. We thought it seemed to be blowing with the wind until we realized that the air was completely still.

Incredibly huge fireball with ion trail and slight alteration of trajectory

We recently went stargazing on a sod field adjacent to Prosser Pines in the Middle Island area. While driving back from the area North towards Middle Country Road, we witnessed an utterly incredible fireball. It was far, far bigger than a normal shooting star (we had been watching the Orionids earlier in the month) and it's diameter was similar to that of the full moon. It appeared to be moving in an East to West motion diagonally towards the Earth, we witnessed it cover an area similar in width to the constellation Taurus. It did not however move in a straight line, it abruptly moved downwards slightly halfway through it's streak, as if it's trajectory had been abruptly altered (The best way I can explain it is picture drawing a straight line, then someone nudges your hand and your straight line is altered and continues in a different path) Because of this I believe it was 'close', at least far closer than a normal shooting star. It's motion was not similar to that of a normal shooting star. It was incredibly bright yellowish-green. It's peak brightness was comparable to an orange streetlight, it had to have been greater than -5 magnitude. It's movement appeared natural and not machine or human like. It lasted for about a second, with an ionization (?) trail lasting an additional second. It's motion was beautiful. It appeared perhaps 30 degrees above the horizon and disappeared perhaps 15 degrees above the horizon. We had been impressed with alot of what we saw in our telescope that night but this fireball made me and a friend resoundingly yell out in amazement. It looked like something that actually could have impacted on the Earth but we heard or saw nothing else past this. My roomate heard my tale of this fireball and attests he saw a similar phenomenon driving home from Riverhead in the same general area.

A bright light in the clear night sky disappeared.

I saw a light in the sky.It was moving like an airplane.The light was not blinking and it was moving in a stright line across the night sky from the west to east.I didnt hear any engine noises and there were no clouds in the sky.When it got into the center of my view it disappeared.It was completely gone from view.

Small red lights circling around a large green football object

In July of 2003 around maybe 8:30-10pm a friend and I were walking around a sod farm near his apartment complex in middle island, new york not far from artist lake. We sat down along the north side of the field near the tree line. At some point I noticed a small red dot shoot out in the sky from behind my friends head. I looked around and noticed another. When I told him he got up and turned and said "forget the little red guys, look at that one over there" and sure enough, further to the east on the opposite side was a huge green football shaped object with a slight dome look on top.

It had small red diamonds along the center axis going horizontally. The green coming off of it didn't seem to have a source, it just sort of glowed green like one of those glowing jellyfish. It sat stationary for a while and then slowly started going to the east, then west then back again. It made no noise that we could hear. The red balls were zooming around the sky like they were playing a game. They would fly seemingly right into the larger green object and come flying back out. Then zip around and do it again. They seemed to move effortlessly. Like speedy butterflies.

It was difficult to estimate its size as it was hovering over the tree line a good bit but we had no reference to distance. But even if it was only 200 yards behind the tree line it would still have been very large. Like the size of a football field. We watched it for at least an hour, maybe more. It would stay still and then suddenly jolt one way or another and stop again. We started seeing atv's driving around the outside of the field and then a helicopter came right overhead with an incredibly bright light. It spooked us and we double timed out. Its private property and we didnt want trouble. Plus the helicopter really buzzed by super low and nearly blinded us. The noise from the 4-wheelers and the helicopter was jarring after the dead silence we both sat in for so long, and they all showed up quite suddenly. It freaked us out a little bit.

When we got out we tried to figure out what we just witnessed. We walked back to his apartment discussing what it might have been. A blimp? Who the hell is flying a glowing green blimp around? There was no way a blimp could move like that. A blimp turns, it stays at a certain range of speed. This thing was just jumping one direction to the next while never changing its shape from our perspective. And what were the little red balls flying around it? We could still see it on the west side of the field from the apartment. We didn't see it leave, at some point it was just gone.

I was just blown away while my friend was somewhat less impressed saying he'd seen all sorts of weird things in that field. The odd thing was that day in general was just...strange. There was something in the air, I don't know how to explain it. It was only through a series of bizarre events that we even ended up in that field that night. I've heard some people talk about "high strangeness" associated with ufo sightings and I have to go ahead and throw my experience into that hat. The whole event was really something else.

I didn't mention this to my friend or anybody else that I told this story to (which aren't many because honestly I'm sure it sounds crazy), but while we were watching this thing float around I felt like it "knew" we were watching. I almost felt like it could understand my thoughts. I regret not asking my friend if he had felt the same. I just felt as if it "checked our heads" and concluded we were "cool" and we weren't going to freak out and that we thought it was awesome. I realize how insane that sounds, trust me. I even remember saying "hey bros come down and hang out!" and feeling a sort of "response" of something that "felt like" laughter. I find it hard to put into words. It was really something otherworldly and I still can't believe it happened to me. Nothing ever happens to me.

But we never heard anything on the news, nobody we knew said they saw anything. There is a high school or a junior high school or something very close to where it was. You would think there would be more witnesses. It's not like I scoured through ufo reports at the time, so maybe someone else did. I just thought since there seems to be less of a stigma surrounding talking about these things, I'd at least submit a report about it somewhere. I lost contact with the friend I was with that night, but if asked, I remember his name.
