Hovering light that accelerated disappeared within seconds

While driving northwest I saw a steady white light above the treeline and thought it was streetlight. As my vehicle came to a stop I realized it was too high to be a street light or a light in a tree.

I thought it could be a helicopter, drone or very slow moving aircraft but no green or blinking red light was observed. I rolled the window down to see if I could hear the sound of a helicopter but couldn't hear anything.

As I made a right turn the light dimmed and I saw extremely faint red light slightly beneath the now dim white light. I began thinking it was helicopter with a searchlight pointed in my direction.

About 10-15 seconds later the light brightened back to what it's original level was and began moving at extreme speed to the west. The light was out of sight in just a few seconds.

Sighted while camping. I was able to get 1 motion picture with a Samsung s22 ultra at 42x zoom. The object is barely in frame but is seen in the 2 sec of motion with less detail. It was moving quickly from east to west in a straight line for approximately 10 sec. I am 43 and work in aerospace

Glowing white streak across the sky

We had bad storms yesterday afternoon/evening. I walked outside to head out to the grocery store and called my husband out to look at the rainbow that came out. As we’re looking at the rainbow we saw a glowing white streak going across the sky. At first we thought it was a plane but it was going way too fast to be a regular airplane. So I took a photo with my phone. I couldn’t get my video on quick enough but the photo I have is a live photo from my iPhone. When I zoom in and play it, it’s definitely not an airplane. It’s a bright white cylinder shape and if you look carefully, it looks almost like a gyroscope. Lasted about 30 seconds and just disappeared.

Camping...In Jefferson, Colorado. 3 spheres, 2 in hazy white light and one black sphere. The black sphere chased after the hazy spheres. They would move across the sky and the hazy one’s would disappear and show up a short distance but the black sphere would continue on its track. We watched them go across the sky. I was astonished. Strange flashing light, no rhythm, and wildly varying intensity, moving west to east.

I went out to have a smoke at around 4:30 AM. I do this often, and am always looking up for shooting stars, satellites, etc. I saw a slightly yellowish/white light in the Western sky flash dimly then go out.

I kept watching the same area of the sky, and several seconds later, the light appeared again, but about 5 times as bright, and the light stayed on for at least 3 seconds, and had moved some distance toward the east.

It then flashed dimly several seconds later, then again dimly, then very brightly and for a longer duration. There was no rhythm to this flashing at all, it was very random, and definitely was not a plane. I’ve seen many satellites, and this was very different. For one, it was much slower, and secondly, on a strange west to east path, thirdly, satellites don’t flash.

The strangest thing though, I went out the very next night, and saw the exact same object, same trajectory, only slightly further south in the sky.

I don’t know what it was, but it was definitely unidentified by this long time sky watcher.

While driving south on I-85, I saw a bright light fall from the sky to my left (south). It was the about the same brightness as a helicopter running light.

It went down behind the tree and I really expected to see an explosion and fire, but nothing. Maybe this was a meteor?

Star-like object on a sunny day moved slowly to the southeast, then disappeared 55 minutes later at twilight.

To the naked eye the object looked like a bright star straight above us in the daylight. The sky was blue, the sun was low & orangish-yellow. The object was a bright cold white & size of a night star when first sighted. It moved too slowly to notice movement w/my bare eyes unless I was still & comparing its location to a roof gutter above me. Via a monocular at times some markings that looked like a very blurred "Boys and Girls Clubs of America" logo were on it. Other times it looked like the moon with blurred craters but it was much too small to be the moon. Could not tell if it was 1000's of feet up or many miles up. There was no ground wind. It was tough to hold the monocular still. Had bluish top left edge & reddish bottom right edge. Was not 'smoothly' round. Had a barely visible heat distortion or exhaust on left & right sides (shown above).

The object later became a faded orange before disappearing in the dark sky. It moved a total of about 30 deg south east before it was gone at twilight when outdoor lights were on.

4 other adults & 2 children also saw it. 2 of the adults were passers-by and 2 adults I knew and then asked them to come outdoors to look. Of those, only me and a child saw it with a viewing aid – a monocular.

Via the monocular, my school-age child said it looked like a white doughnut with the hole more to the right. They said it had slight 'exhaust' coming out of the sides but they saw no blue & red colors like I saw. As like all clear days, jets at varying altitudes and a small prop plane were also visible flying by when looking at the object.

It was a little after one in the morning 9/19/15. I went to take the dog out and I look up and looks like bunches of stars more then I ever seen in the sky.

Then I seen some move slowly and take off really fast but not go far. So I called my wife from in the house and she looks at them and some would move or looked like they was swaying or spinning but there was no noise and we watched for over a hour getting attacked by mosquitos just wanted to watch bc it was so amazing and its like they knew we was watching them

Gray and black acorn shaped object with antennae, dark spots, and lighter square in Jefferson, Maine

Dear Peter;

On 02/17/15 @ 10:19 a.m., I was driving on the East Pond Rd. in Jefferson, Maine, watching a “sundog” and wondering why a sundog was in the sky so early in the day. I stopped by the roadside to take a picture of it, and when I looked at the picture on my tracfone, I discovered this curious item up in the top left of the picture. I did not see it at the time that I took the picture.

It is an acorn shaped object, without the cap, and if you look closely you can see two short antennae sticking out the right hand side of the object, as well as a couple of dark spots on the front right, and a square light spot on the front left of the object.

Unfortunately, no one was with me at the time, but I can assure you that this is not dust, snow, or water on the lens.

I am going to email this picture to you, I find this to be rather curious, and I hope it helps you, if you find it worth noting.

I’m sure this sounds bizarre, but I will note that I have been watching a very old house below where this picture was taken. Every time I drive by, something seems different about the windows, curtains, and old stuff inside, which is partly visible from the road. I had just mentioned to my grandson that I was considering that the house was either haunted or that somehow someone was inside even though there are no footprints or snow plow action around the house. It probably has nothing to do with anything, but I thought you might be interested.

On 04/04/14. at approx. 18:00 hrs. 5 extremely bright white objects, very high up, straight flat wings, slight curved corners

At approximately 6p.m., my neighbor called me to say that he had been observing over a dozen unknown objects in the sky. He asked me if I could see them from my house, so I went outside and yes, I could see 2 of them for a short time. One of them veered off into nothingness, and the other one seemed to climb higher and then vanished.

When they disappeared from view, I came back inside to find my binoculars. Here is what I saw: With the binoculars I could see 3 more. At first I wondered if they were some kind of a very large bird, but they seemed to be so high up that it didn’t seem logical. They were extremely white and bright with straight wings, but the ends were flat with slightly rounded corners.

Then, I wondered if it could be a piper cub plane, but it was so very high up, that did not make sense either. They simply cruised, sometimes curving back like a bird of prey might do, and then other times they turned direction and came back in a straight line.

My total viewing time with the binoculars was approximately 20 minutes. I also wondered if it was a fleet of drones.

I must stress that the most important aspects of this sighting are that they were extremely white, that they were extremely high up, and that the wings were not bird like at the tips, but straight out, flat at the ends, with slightly rounded tips.

16 identical fixed wing objects moving apparently randomly, both indivdually and collectively, as hawks might do, very high up.

The time of my sighting began at approximately 14:15 on April 4, 2014. The location is Jefferson, Maine, about 20 miles east of Augusta.

I am a frequent watcher of the sky, and as I gazed up at this time toward the north, I saw very high up (several miles) at maybe a 70 degree angle from ground level to directly overhead two white objects that caught my attention. They were drifting, rather than flying in a linear manner as any airplane would normally do. The motion seemed to be analogous to a hawk or eagle looking for prey far below, or perhaps a hang glider. However, these objects were apparently around the height of normal jet plane, way too high for birds. They were not drifting with a wind current as they were constantly changing direction.

I watched for a few minutes and then went in to get binoculars. Upon locating them in the binoculars, I noticed color--orange, yellow, and green from from front to back respectively. I continued to watch for awhile then was about to put away the binoculars inside the house when I went out again and saw many more. I was able to count 16 in all. Every one was identical in size, shape and color.

After watching some more, I called a friend who also has a keen interest in UFO sightings. She lives about a mile from me, also in Jefferson. When she went out she could only see two, but only in white.

While she reported what she was seeing, I was inside on my land line phone with her. Eventually, they disappeared into the haze of the thin clouds and we lost sight of them after about one half hour, seeming to be moving to the east from north.

What struck me was their apparent random motion with respect to each other and also in rather looping circular motion individually, again, much as one might see with hawks or eagles. The shape was like a small fixed wing airplane. No sound was heard nor anything resembling a jet contrail.

I am a senior citizen in complete control of my mental capacity. My friend is likely a bit younger, but over 50.

Glowing Object Streaking Across the Sky

While taking my dog outside, I immediately observed what appeared to be a brightly glowing meteor streaking across the sky. Orange in color, it moved in a westward direction, toward Madison, in a swift and precise fashion. In its wake, a sustained flickering remained in what seemed to be the object's path. It remained visible for upwards of a minute. There was no noise associated with the sighting.

Witnessed three glowing objects traveling from the south east, headed north west. The objects maintained a constant speed and were traveling in a single file formation. It was hard to tell how high they were or how fast they were traveling, but they made no discernible sound and appeared to be traveling faster than any plane or helicopter that you'd normally see in the area. At first, they looked almost like Chinese lanterns, as they flickered like they were on fire. Their color was also orange. Because of the flickering, you were unable to determine their exact shape. They maintained travel until I could no longer see them over the horizon.

Orange, spherical light moving erratically.

I live in a rural area. Frequently I go for long walks at night. Tonight I was almost back to my driveway when I noticed 2 lights in the Southwestern sky underneath about 80% cloud cover. The one to the left was a blinking navigation light traveling in a linear fashion - obviously a plane. The one to the right was larger, spherical, and glowing orange. It was slightly larger than a plane's navigation light would appear.

I watched the light and noticed it moving quickly and erratically, like an insect around a lamp. The light continued this kind of frenetic motion predominately upwards before disappearing into the clouds.

About a month prior I had a similar, initial sighting. That time it was much higher up and directly overhead. I could pick out jets and stars as a reference, but this orange light moved erratically in a way that I had never seen before. I watched it for what felt like a solid 10 minutes - just buzzing around up there nonsensically. I realized just how high up it was when the light traveled behind a whispy cloud (one of those upper level cirrus clouds). At that point I went back to the house.

A friend of mine observed something similar in late July, but I can't speak for him.

Weird shaped object seperated by a single black pipe connection

I was leaving Athens after the death of a family member at a local hospital last night about 4:30pm. As I was traveling up 129 back twards gainesville were I live. I saw this large object which I though was a helicopter with carrying something. As it crossed the rd It looked like a hammer top with the teeth end forward and then at the bottom was a upside down peace that looked like a hammer top with the teeth end in the same direction but pointing up. They were seperated by a single tube looking object. They were silver in color but the peace conecting them was black. I was about a quarter mile away from the object that was large in size. When I got a good look at it it looked like something from a movie. I have been in the military for 6years and never saw anything like it. I came across this site while googleing the event to see if anyone else saw it. I saw anouther simular siting on the site from last year in jefferson. It had no sound and was ! in laming terms very interesting. It was deff not anything that anyone has ever seen flying in the sky befor. It was a cloudy day and it was very low in sky maby a few thousand feet above the ground. It diaapered behind a high bank that was beside the rd and disapered behind Jefferson High school.

Driving on Old Pendgrass Road, crossing over Hwy 129 towards children's school. Object appeared to be a very bright yellow fireball, shaped like a crescent moon.

As it descended lower, object rapidly decreased in size and turned blue. It eventually disappeared into the air.

My children ages 9, 6, & 6 would love to know what this was.

Saw one large, bright ball of yellowish light traveling at a fairly steady pace from west to east along the northern edge of South Park, Colorado. The object appeared to bobble several times while continuing forward. Without notice or any obvious turns, the object went straight up and was completely gone in a second or two. From my vantage point it looked like it disappeared into the right ½ of the Cassiopeia Constellation.

Strange round object moving over fireworks display area

We were waiting for the annual fireworks celebration when we noticed a round, reddish/orange light moving slowly in the clear evening sky. It appeared to be the size of a large star. It moved slowly and steadily, making no noise. At first we thought it might be an airplane, but then we realized that it was stopping and starting periodically. The light moved toward us as the fireworks began. It seemed to hover over the area for several minutes and then slowly moved behind a patch of broken clouds. Once the clouds cleared, the object was gone. We did not see it again that evening.

There were four people in our party that witnessed this strange object. We watched it carefully, hoping for some logical explanation (airplane, helicopter, etc). One member of our group firmly believes in UFO's. The other three are skeptical, but remain convinced that we saw something special that evening.

My mother and I were standing on the back deck around 10:15 pm to 10:20 pm, looking at the sky, when what looked like a bright star appeared. The night was cloudy, so we didn't think it was a star.

I guessed it was an airplane (although it seemed too far down to be one), because of it's slow moving nature, but there were no blinking lights, just one solid bright light. As it moved across the sky, my pet dogs began barking and growling insanely towards the star-like object.

Then, as quickly as it apppeared, it faded away, as if flying out towards space. About 20 to 30 minutes later, after my mother and I went inside, a helicopter flew over the house. I suppose it was following the UFO.

Oval shaped object sighted hovering over a field

I was driving down a back road in the afternoon when I felt the urge to direct my attention to the left of me towards a field. My attention was immediately stolen by what looked to be a oval shaped object hovering over the field approximately 200-300ft. in the air (that would be my best guess). The object was not moving, and was not emitting any lights or sounds, but I could tell the object was shiny due to the fact the sun was reflecting off of the object.

As a passed a few trees, and my line of sight was broken, I looked back in the general area only to find the object was gone. I slowed down my car from about 30mph to about 15mph and scanned the sky and the fields that I could see, but the object had disappeared.

I immediately called a friend of mine and told him what I had saw, and asked another friend or two how I could obtain information pertaining to anyone else reporting a strange object in the area. They suggested contacting the county and/or state authorities. My plan is to contact them in the next day or two and ask about any reports of a ‘low flying aircraft’ in the past week. This area hasn’t been known to have many UFO sightings to my knowledge, nor have I witnessed anything like this area here before, but I know I’m am now more intrigued than ever to learn, document, and report any strange sighting or occurrences from this area.

I have sent a sighting report to the HBCC UFO Research as well with the same information I have provided in this report.

I WAS OUTSIDE WATCHING A THUNDERSTORM. IT WAS SCATTERED DARK CLOUDS SO THE SUN WAS STILL VISIBLE.

I TURN TO MY RIGHT AFTER A LIGHTNING STRIKE, AND I SEE AN OBJECT FLYING INTO THE STORM CLOUD. THEN ABOUT 5 SECONDS LATER, IT WENT BACKWARDS OUT OF THE CLOUD.

IT HAD 2 SECTIONS. BOTH WERE SILVER & EGG SHAPED. BUT THEY WERE NOT THE SAME SIZE. 1 WAS BIG AND THE OTHER WAS HALF THE SIZE.

THEY WERE SEPERATED BY WHAT I CAN ONLY DESCRIBE AS A SHORT BLACK TUBE.

IF THERE ARE OTHERS WHO HAVE SEEN THIS, PLEASE SAY SOMETHING.

I worked at an airport for 18 years.I know what all fixed wing aircraft known to man can do.I am also a lifelong shooter and have shot thousands of rounds of tracer ammo so I am good at judging velocity in the air.I now know why the govt. wants to keep these things a secret.This object was in our atmosphere,I would guess about 30,000 ft.,was lit up in the shape of a football,had no tail,no noise,and moved paralell to the earth at a speed that was unbelievable! I do care if anyone believes me or not.I know what I saw!

I saw 1 craft, which was it looked like a square with red and green lights. It moved slowly at times. I'm not saying it's an alien craft, could have been the air force, but it was very odd. did not move like a plan, jet or chopper. could have been a sattelite. still unknown. I ju8st saw an add on the local tv to report if I saw anything. I didn't think anything of it until I saw the add. Then I realized what I saw might have not have been a plane or jet. I am not sure what it was. It was very odd.

Rural mountain area. Tree covered hill. 1860' MSL. I awoke to see a bright white light approx 1,500' so east of my camper. The circular object resembled a satellite dish antenna. It was illuminated and, illuminating. It was rising very slowly.

The above description was seen through 10x50 binoculars. The object was rising slowly and, shortly after focusing on it, began to descend. It began to rise again, then descended below the tree tops. The object never rose more than what I believed to be more than half way above the trees. I was able to see three full panels and,one partial panel on either side of the three full ones. The trees obscured the lower half. On the second descent into the trees, the light disappeared. In the morning light, I went to where I believed the source of the light was located. There was no road or, trail suitable for positioning that object in the trees by using ground equipment, in my opinion The panels I speak of were white and, appeared to be illuminating.They also appeared to be illuminated.Try to imagine a TV satellite dish approx. 15 to 20 ft in dia. projecting half way above tall tree tops bathed in white light. My interest is in knowing if anyone has seen anything similar.

saw a bright red sphere moving slowly from west to east on the north of our campsite.

The sphere was blinking on and off in an odd fashion, as if it was phasing in and out of this dimension , very jerky motions, then slow steady progress to the east then more jerky motions etc. After about five minutes the object went behind a mtn. to the east and circled around to the south of our campsite and hovered silently about fifty feet off of the ground and seventy five yards away. It was about three hundred feet in diameter and bright redish orange. We felt a strange calmness and after what seamed like only a few minutes it went away at a very high rate of speed, it coveredat least thirty five miles in a split second and was bouncing eratically over the mountain range to the south west of our campsite. since then i have had the feeling that it was not just a few minutes hovering but a few hours, but at the time of the incident we didn't realize how much time had elapsed. There were four of us and we all had seen the same thing.

Three lights,possibly single or part of object hovered over treeline changing color,and shape.

I was in my early teens.My mother,father,and I noticed a strange set of lights over the treetops across the road.We lived in the country where there was alot of open area.These lights formed a triangle and were pulsing and changing shape and color.Living near the county airport we called to see if there were any aircraft in the area.After they told us none then we called the sheriffs department.They sent someone to investigate and he saw the object/objects as we had.He had not ever seen anything of this sort either.He drove to investigate and as he approached the area where the object was hovering it rose up and shot to the north at a very rapid pace.We all agreed that we had never seen anything of this sort before and probably would never again.This occured in about 1hrs. time.

Triangle shaped with red, blue, white, lights on corners. Making right turns.

My sister, a male friend and I were going down a dirt road near interstate 11 in Jefferson, Ohio in August of 1977. I know it was 1977 because my son was a three months old, and was also in the car. I was looking up at the sky and saw an object that was making right turns and I thought that planes cannot do that. After watching it for a minute, I told my sister to stop the car and we got out. The thing pivoted back and flew right over us. It was not very high in the sky and it had flashing red, blue, and white lights on the corners. It was triangle shaped. We could see a slow moving propeller on the bottom. We could hear a slight hum. It kept zigzagging and headed east. There was a moon that night and we saw it clear as day. I never reported it until I ran across this website and saw a picture if it. I still dream about it thirty years later.
