Drone sighting

We saw at least 5 “drones” low in the northeastern horizon, moving left to right as well as right to left over a period of 5-10 minutes. We then moved a few feet southward to view the southern horizon and similarly saw at least 5 “drones” moving left to right as well as right to left over the same amount of time. Usually, 2-3 “drones” were visible at a time. These were far in the distance: 10x50 binoculars did not provide a clear view. The objects flashed red-white/red-white or red-red or white-white. We checked the Flightradar24 app and did not see any planes or helicopters anywhere remotely close to the area at the time, leading us to conclude that these were the unidentified “drones” being seen across the country at this moment.

I was looking out in back yard and looked up at the sky. I was watching the stars and in about half a minute a red orb the size of a softball flew from over my roof above me to where the tree line about 70 ft. It was very fast. As I watched it I saw a red trail behind it. I think it was just seeing the trail of it as it was moving fast. As it went to the tree line about 49 feet up I saw the trail zig zagging and the red orb looked like it broke up in tiny orbs right before the tree and just vanished like it was never there.

2 of them were extremely bright white lights with halos they were approximately a mile up and moving about 300-400 mph.

These balls of light were so bright that it left a halo around the light they went NE at approximately 300-400 mph I'm guessing they were about smile high. At that hight they were by eye the size of my pinky so I'm guessing they were large craft. They went a distance as bright as the sun but white light and then the light went out and I could see the matalic surface of the craft then suddenly it disappeared instantly. They all did the same. I've seen many smaller ones of the type but never till now seen them so big .

On Friday December 3rd I spotted a black triangle aircraft flying North to South over Amherst Massachusetts.

I am a 20-year-old college student. At approximately 7:15 pm eastern time, I was driving with my girlfriend on Bay Road in Belchertown Massachusetts right near the border with Amherst. We were near the Cold Spring Self storage facility heading east when we saw bright lights overhead. At first, I thought it was a plane but as it got closer it didn’t seem like any plane I had ever heard of. It was dark, but from what I could make it appeared to be a black triangle or diamond shape flying maybe 100 feet above us. It crossed over the road heading from North to South. From our vantage point, it looked slightly larger than a full moon. We opened the window and there was no sound at all even though the aircraft seemed to be so close. All we could hear was the wind from us driving. There were bright flashing white lights that outlined the triangle shape and then there were also flashing red and green lights on the bottom of the craft. We attempted to take a! video. It then seemed to speed up very quickly and got smaller and smaller until it disappeared over the treeline.

After a few seconds the object stopped and began to ascend again slowly and the lights faded out as it went into the cloud layer. Local weather reports listed the ceiling at 21000-23000 ft..

Odd, mostly stationary lights, in night sky, with helicopters broadly circling

Was putting my children to bed, and they drew me towards the window. They pointed out the moon, and one really bright “Star”. It just looked odd, it had an orange hue. Then I saw four more lights added, but two were moving, and as they came closer I saw that they were helicopters. The helicopters seemed to be circling to see the stationary lights.

I noticed two people on a walk across the street, and they too stopped and just stared for a really long time. That made me feel a bit better since I knew it wasn’t just me.

Throughout the whole thing, the same lights were still in the same places but every now and then it would seem to dart out a little bit, but then return to the exact same location. Actually that movement was what really baffled me because it would quickly dart sideways and then return to original position. I’ve never seen anything in the sky move that way.

I watched for about 5 minutes. The only reason I stopped watching was because all of a sudden there was a super thick all-encompassing fog/cloud that took over the whole sky. Honestly, even the cloud cover that occurred looked abnormal; it was as if a thick auditorium curtain was being pulled across the night sky.

Two very large bursts of light, in rapid succession.

When I looked out a large window, the sky was very dark (window looks out on several miles of open fields, with low hills, the Pelham range in the distance). There were two bursts of light that occurred in very rapid succession. They seemed to appear from just on the other side of the hills and were impressively large. It was a quiet night here, no noise was audible, and that seemed to be it. Given the distance from the occurrence though, this had to be something major, yet I can find no instance of an explosion or accident.

I went outside to for a smoke around 22:45 pm, and was about halfway through it, when I heard what I thought was a plane. I noticed I couldn't see the tail end of the plane at all.

It got into a clearing above 2 trees, and it was easily visible, as the sky was still a dark shade of blue. I saw a black triangle with six lights on it. Five white, one red, and the red one was blinking. There was a white light at the front of the craft, another behind it, and three more white lights along the back. The blinking red light was in the center.

It glided at about the same speed as a plane across the sky, and was flying pretty low. I would say it was more or less gliding than flying. It was also about as loud as a normal commercial jet if you were maybe 200 feet away from it.

I initially saw red orb light out my west facing window at 9:24 pm. I often look out my window, as i am a smoker. It was so unusual that i called my son over to have a look. \


As he did the red light seemed to have a bright white spotlight behind it. The spotlight then gave way to the red light, starting the size of a speck, and ending even smaller. Never bigger than a star in my eyes, faded gradually but steadily back into the night.

I tried to film such encounter but only voice feed remains. I tried to stay calm, do the right thing. But, what is the right thing? What do i do now? What does this mean for me, exactly? What do i do? I am excited to hear of ANY progress and was most certainly excited to get your call tonight.

Huge silent flying object moving North East in the sky.

On the night of Oct. 28,2013 I witnessed what I believe to be a UFO flying in a North East direction at about 9:00 pm. It caught my attention because of its size and how low it was over the roof top of the house. I estimate its size to be bigger than a full moon and I liken its shape to be diamond like. It had lights along the tips and partial perimeter. I tried chasing it to get a picture but was obscured by tree line and street lights. I chased it for about 10 min. but lost it.

I also mention that there was no engine noise. I rolled my window down to see if it was an airplane but it was absolutely quiet.

At approximately 2:30am my friend and I noticed several bright green lights flash outside of her window. Looking like they came from the sky. We briefly ignored the bright green flashes assuming they were just a weird tint/minds playing tricks on us about lightning. Afterwards, we noticed several red flashes as well (each flash lasting in about 6 or 8 second periods). We went outside to check, and asked several people if they saw the lights, and they saw them as well, and the lights changed to a bright yellow, and seemed to originate past the W.E. dubois library at center of campus. It was consistent flashing. I asked if maybe they were fireworks, but it was raining, and it was flashing too much to be a fireworks show. And a firework at 2:30 in the morning makes no sense.

Circular amber light seen towards to the NW; no sound

Just past midnight on Sunday, August 11, 2013, seven individuals (6 male, 1 female), witnessed a circular shape towards the NW direction on the town line of Amherst, Maine and Township 28, Maine.

The shape was quite large and extremely bright. Amber/copper-like color with white at times. It was so bright that it was casting a bright reflection on the lake where our camp is located. Shape existed for approximately 5 minutes before disappearing.

Our group was outdoors to witness meteors to the north when this object appeared in the northwest. It appeared to be just above the tree tops.

Knowing my surroundings, I used Google Maps and confirmed this object was no more than 1/3 of a mile from our location.

This object appeared to remain stationary most of the time before moving to the north, then disappeared. No sound could be heard.

Silent orange lights, initially traveling horizontally, and then rose vertically till they disappeared.

Before I start, Thank You Peter for the forum you provide.

I left a Christmas gathering a few minutes past 8:00pm and once outside noticed an orange light with an occasional “halo” effect that could be seen as it got closer. I could not see the “halo” part the whole time; it kind of flickered a bit, but the bright bottom was illuminated steadily. I only saw one light at first. It was silent and its movement seemed directional, not as if it were just drifting.

I went back in and called others to come out and see (7 people in total). The first light was still there and I then saw two additional lights behind it, all having the same general characteristics (atypical from SkyLanterns, as the “structure” above was not always visible). They seemed to be traveling on a “flat plane” at the same general altitude (guess-timated at 500 ft.) and then when they were over the property where we were standing, they seemed to go straight up, with the lights becoming smaller until they disappeared (possibly through the cloud cover). There was no further additional travel to the west, just seemingly “up” above the house and then out of sight. All in all, the lights were visible for about 3 minutes maximum. Roughly 2/3 of this time was in “flat planar” travel and 1/3 in what appeared to be vertical travel.

While outside watching, I heard the reaction of neighbors to the left who were also observing, and their tone was of excited confusion. (A bit of "What IS that?" in excited speech). I could not hear all of what was being said however.

When I got home and had the opportunity to check weather stats from a local media weather site (WIVB ~9:20pm), the winds were noted as 4mph E on the site’s front-page, and 0 mph calm N in their "Current Conditions" section. Precipitation reflection on radar (for upper level winds) showed a very slow trend from north to south in direction.

I checked additional stats taken from another weather website - (Visibility 10.0 miles, Clouds Few 2800 ft Overcast 3900 ft (Wunderground) 10:55pm) I also checked local news websites and their individual reporting forums for any type of chatter about sky sightings but didn’t find anything. Still curious, I went back outside several times, not expecting to see anything, but saw another orange light southwest over Main St. at 8:59pm, and then saw a grouping of 4 others “behind” the first, to the south (guess-timated at 800 ft.). I lost track of the first, but they all came from the south traveling north and then seemed to angle west northwest and begin to go more vertically (~65 degree elevation from horizon). They then followed this trajectory slowly to the cloud cover and disappeared. The bright lights that were their primary composition would become smaller and smaller, although with similar brightness, as it elevated (counterintuitive to a flame in a SkyLantern exhausting itself), and it seemed to me that they were breaking through the cloud barrier.

The group of 4 moved somewhat randomly although all in the same (very distinct) direction. All were going to the same area in the distance, but moving in and around each other in getting there. There was then noticed that there was one straggler about 30 seconds behind. The group of 4 was almost gone when I noticed the last. This last one followed the same general trajectory, although it did seem to stay illuminated longer. Possibly due to height variance in cloud cover? These lights seemed to have the same longevity as the first group noticed at about 8:05pm, at least in terms of proportion. They were seemingly 2/3 “planar” motion and 1/3 more vertical motion.

In total, the first group had 3 lights (1, then 2 following) at around 8:05pm and the later group had 6 in total (1, then 4, then 1) at ~9:00pm. Land distance between the two sightings was about 1.5 mi. The first group traveled from east to west then roughly at a 90 degree altitude straight up (total time observed – about 3 minutes), and then the second group from south to north then WNW at ~65 degree altitude (total time observed – about 5 minutes). I have seen nothing since. (I checked off-and-on till about 12:30am that night) I saw nothing great through binoculars either. I only had a good look at the last light in the second group, and its size did not change to any great degree—maybe it was too distant.

Large orange orb.

My wife and I were in the woods just after a storm. We kept noticing lighting in the same general area through the trees.

I told my wife that if we went out into the field that was across the street we would see a ufo. I was half joking when I said this but later she said she was thinking the same thing.

We were both shocked when just as we emerged into the clearing we saw what at first looked to me like a planes landing gear light in the southern sky just above the tree line. It was orange and stationary at first.

It seemed to respond to my thoughts.

As I focused on it, it grew larger and brighter apearing to stay stationary. It apeared to be about the size of a full moon. Then it grew dimmer and slowly moved to the east.

I started running into the field to get a better look and it moved faster. It traveled behind some trees and dissapeared.

The object made no sound.

Our last encounters with ufo on amherst, va farm road

Again, I write about my experience with a ufo that I think is friendly, or I wouldn't be here today, nor would my daughter and now, my husband.

I last reported that my daughter and I saw our UFO on her farm road the nite of 10/22/10. I will now give my account of a few days past that.

We again witnessed our "friends" on the farm road on 10/25/10 at about the same time of night. There was a car behind us when we stopped at my daughter's mailbox and it passed us and drove towards our ufo which was, once again, sitting in the middle of the farm road we were to take. All the ufo did was move over into the field, as it did on our first encounter, to let the car make a left turn into a driveway of a farm there. Then when the car came back out, the ufo didn't make a move to appear to just be another car.

After the car left, we approched the ufo to the same cinerio. It when up and proceeded down the road ahead of us. When it got to my daughter's rental home, it went behind the same trees, as it has done, and just hovered there; no sound.

I called my husband, whom has been dying to see the ufo to come right away. He was about 20 minutes away and when he got there, it was still there, yet he said he saw two lights in the middle of the hayfield near the mailboxes. My daughter and I had seen two other lights to the left of the road out in the woods, I forgot to point out, as well. The two lights over the house appeared to be wider apart, so we are thinking this to be the "mother". Anyway, we watched the thing for about a half an hour and took pictures with our cell phones. None were as impressive as what we were seeing with our eyes.

When we drove away, we kept stopping to see if it was following us and didn't see it anymore until we got to the mailboxes; then there it was in the middle of the hayfield. We got out of the car and took more cell phone pics. Then we went back down to the house and it again went on ahead of us stopping over the house again, no noise. When we left the last time headed for home, if followed us all the way back to the mailboxes and stopped in the middle of the road. It has never stopped more than 20 feet close to us.

The following night when I took my daughter home after work at about the same time, there it was again, Same thing, went ahead of us, than followed me back out. I just rolled down the window and said "See ya again, gotta go home".

We have not seen our ufo again since that night, 10/26/10. We hope our friends will come back to see us again sometime. We miss "them".

October 22, 2010 Mother and daughter again are “visited” by strange ufo on farm road in Amherst, Va.

We saw the “thing” in August as well, but didn’t report it then. It took off very quickly, but we were able to get some video.

Back to last night’s sighting; again the craft was on the ground, just within sight of my daughter’s mailbox. We saw it when we stopped to check her mail. I approached it with my headlights off-parking lights only and my daughter tried to get some video. She did get some good footage, although with the bumpy road and the speed I was going, the ufo appears to be moving erratically, but it was us doing the moving. The craft when out over the hay field, within perfect sight of us and went ahead down the road to my daughter’s rental house. It was there in the sky overhead when we got to the house. . Then it just disappeared! It didn’t take off as quickly as it did back in August and seemed to be waiting behind some trees for us to catch up before stopping over her house.

We know that this thing is real. It makes no noise and can go as fast or slow as it wants. The lights change from small to pretty large and there seems to be yellow lights on each side. We noticed last night that the thing looks to be at least as big as a good sized car in width and from the way it looked it is most likely an oval shaped craft.

If anyone has seem anything like this in the area, please, don’t be afraid to post it. We haven’t contacted any local authorities since we fear a bombardment of curiosity seekers might scare “our” friends away. And it really does look like, AFTER SEEING IT 6 TIMES NOW that it wants us to see it.

Proof positive of ufos among us.

I have already posted accounts of all the times we saw these ufos and now I have been able to get a still shot off of a video I took in Oct. 2010. It plainly shows there was a larger craft over the trees and the two sets of lights headed towards it are what we saw close up on the ground and near our car on many occasions. This can't be overlooked.

I heard Peter Davenport on the radio recently and so wanted to call and talk about these times that we saw proof positive, to us, that ufos really do exist. I enclose this picture and it is yours to post. I did enlarge it and brighten it up to be better seen, but that is all that has been done to it. The larger light was hanging just over the treetops in this photo and it is where we saw it each time, except for the first time when it was directly over my daughters rental home.

All of the info has been posted on this site and there also is a report that was posted as having happened in 2001, but it was in 2010.

Ufo seen by mother and daughter on farm road in Amherst county, Va. For the 4th time this year!! The object was first sighted in basically the same place as we first saw it the previous 3 times.

We were at my daughter’s mailbox as before and saw the lights on the road to her home. This time the lights seemed to be wider apart and the yellow lights, one on each side, were flickering as the previous time.

I had a video camera on and was able to get footage better than I thought when taping it. I downloaded it to my computer and played it slow. It is plain that this thing goes where it wants and as fast as it wants.

My last entry was mistakenly put as happening in the year 2001 due to a typo on my part.

Needless to say, we know what we have seen.

In 2010, my family and my friend saw a ufo (ufos) on the ground and in the air at close range. We had interaction with it and very few reports are anything more than someone seeing strange lights in the sky.

See all of my reports of Amherst, Va in 2010. These sightings continue to be in my families' minds, and I can't stop wondering what it would look like in the day light. It/they had two bright lights visible and we think they were triangular in shape. I caught a pic from video, lightened it up and blew it up and it is no question what it was..

I don't know why no one has ever reported this ufo sighting on Braxton Ridge Rd in Amherst county, Va, from 2010.

Mother and daughter see strange lights of ufo for the third time in same location

May 12, 2010 My daughter and I have seen the ufo now for the third time. I posted the second time that was on April 28, but do not see that is has been posted to this site as of 5/13/10.

We were, once again, at her mailbox when we caught site of it again-in about the same place as the first and second time. I turned off the headlights and kept on the parking lights to try to sneak up on it; but had to turn the lights back on pretty soon. This time the lights were white and small like they started out that first time we saw it, but this time we noticed that there were small yellow flashing lights on the outside of each white light. As we approached the thing, it started to immediately back away and the lights got bigger. The closer we got, the faster it went. We kept visual with it as it went into the air and went ahead of us down the farm road. When it got to my daughter’s house, it was behind some trees; we could still see the two lights. I tried to get a picture, but couldn’t get the object clearly in the view finder of my cell phone.

I left my daughter, after being sure she was inside and the door was locked.

As I was going out, I looked in my rearview mirror and the two lights were right behind me!! Man did I take off!! It was still behind me when I got to the end of the road near the mailboxes, So I stopped. When I stopped, it stropped maybe was 30 feet from me. I took a picture, but in my excitement, forgot to press the save button!.

Whatever this thing is, it likes where it is since we have seen it three times now. We are realizing that if it wanted to hurt us, it had every opportunity to do so. I even stopped half way down the road and stood up in the car and out of the top sunroof -cell phone it hand to try to see it and get a picture-lights off, of course, but kept the motor running for a fast exit, if necessary.

The second time we saw it, it took off in a great big hurry since it was a moonlite night. Hope that account will be posted soon.

Mother and daughter chase UFO to daughter's house.

I was taking my daughter home after work on this evening. It was about 11:00 at night and we were sitting by her mailbox when we noticed lights down the road towards the rental property she lives in on a farm here. The lights were small, much like backup lights on a car, so we just thought that it was her landlords working on a farm truck. We sat by the mailbox and waited a minute or so for them to come out of the road.

When after a few minutes, the lights were still there, I pulled my car up closer to the lights. As we approached them, they backed up into the hayfield. I had my car window rolled down to listen, as the neighbors entrance, the first on the road is where the lights were first-on the ground and their dogs were barking and crying and howling! We didn’t hear any motor noises from the “farm truck” and wondered why it backed all the way to the back of the hayfield! Then the two lights got bigger and brighter, though there was no beam. As ! soon as we saw them rise up into the air, we knew it wasn’t our friends in any farm truck. I speed up to catch up and the faster I went, the fast it went. The , bigger now, lights went up and over the fence of the hayfield, across the farmers road, across the fence to the cow pasture and went along about 15 feet above the ground. I was speeding at this point, faster than I would have ever driven down the road , maybe 25 mph, but couldn’t catch up. It flew under some power lines and straight up into the air and behind my daughter’s house where it “hung” there until we got into the lot in front of her house.

We sat in front of her house and looked up at the lights for about a minute, when they just “poof” went out, or the thing sped away. We had both front windows of the car open by now and can verify that there was not a single sound of any motor or of any power plant within the UFO. And again, there was no beam of light coming in our direction or any other. The lights were just there! We found out the next day that our friend, the landlady of the farm had seen the lights when she came home, about 30 minutes before we did. She saw it in the area, above the river, behind the house in about the same location that we had last seen it. So we know that it had been hanging around for a much longer time than we saw it.

We were all very happy to see what we know was a UFO.

In addition, while observing these lights in the sky strange points and flashes of light were noticed above the trees and closer to our group, some as "shooting stars" with curved tails. Humming craft with 3 dim cream colored lights moving through thick woods.

A group of friends and I were hanging out back of a restaurant my friends worked at having a good time. There was an aurora borealis that night. It had been unseasonably warm and so around 1 in the morning a thick fog started rolling in. There is a patch of woods behind the restaurant about 100 feet across the rear parking lot that goes back about 75-100 feet to houses and apartments. I started to hear a strange buzzing and brought it to my friends attention, we then saw 3 dim lights that appeared to be attached to an object starting from top left in a diagonal line to bottom right and moved from left to right. The bottom of the object was about 4 feet above the ground and the top of it was about 12-15 feet above the ground. It looked as though it were ghosting through the trees as it was in the thick of them about 20 feet from the edge of the parking lot. We stood dumbfounded as it moved through the woods until it disappeared and the thick fog with it. I w! as excited and said "holy &@!? Did you guys see that? It was a UFO!" 4 of the group were speechless but the looks on their faces said i was crazy and the 2 others who were preparing to enter the marines laughed and agreed that it was a helicopter. The topic was quickly dropped and they resumed having fun. I am convinced to this day it was not a helicopter as at that distance it would have been very loud and it was about as loud as the traffic going by on the road in front of the restaurant and a helicopter can't fly in the woods below the tree line. Also the fact that it stopped us dead in the middle of what we were doing to stand still and silent as we watched. I am a very curious individual, when I see something unknown I like to investigate yet I stood still and did nothing.

Four circles of white light about the size of dinner plates flying in the sky doing formations

I went outside with my dog so she could do her business and I saw floating in the sky from the left over my neighbor's house then over my house four circles of light flying freely above the clouds. I could tell they were above the clouds because their outlines were blurred slightly from the cloudy sky but the circles were still very bright and visible. The circular white lights were about the size of dinner plates and were flying around independently and then all joined into one light and then split off into four again. They did this twice in my presence. I didn't stay outside any longer once my dog was finished because frankly I was a little spooked by the occurance and just wanted to get inside. My dog was not phased in the least. There were no visible beams as if the lights were spotlights, absolutely no noise, and the lights seemed to me to be more solid than any spotlight would be as well as very free and unbound by any movement limitations that a spotlight would have as a spotlight originates from a source on the ground. These balls of light were very free moving. I am a college educated, professional person who is not claiming to know what these lights are but I do know what I saw, and I know they were very strange and seemingly intelligent.

Glowing boomerang shaped object, hovering for 2 1/2 minutes

I saw a craft shaped like a boomerang and it was hovering about 100 feet above the tree tops. It was a glowing pale orange-yellow. The only color that I can think of that comes close is the color of a flame. The color seemed to have a fluid movement like when looking at a flame too. I was in my car and came upon this object, and I stoped the car to look at it. It stayed there for about two and a half minutes and then just seemed to blink out. Just like some one turning off a light. This is not the first time that I have seen strange things in the sky, but this was the first time that I had fear in my heart over it. There was no reason that I could understand, for the feelings of fear, but the feeling was there just the same. A great deal of fear. This object made no sound at all. I don't remember the exact date, but I do know it was about 7 to 9 days before christmas.

Vehicle seen again on nights of Oct. 25 and again on the 26. Mother and daughter see UFO once again on farm road in Amherst County, Va.

My daughter and I again saw the same lights on the road to the house that she rents on a secluded farm in Amherst, Va.

The same two lights that we saw at the beginning of the year were once again at about the same place as before, but this time started out in the larger configuration that we last observed. As we approached the object, this time in a different darker colored car, the object immediately took off away from us and again appeared over the vicinity of my daughter’s house.

When we got down the road, it was gone. It had gone from point A to point B in the flash of an eye and we think it knew that since it was a bright, moonlight night, that we just might be able to see the craft, thus its speedy demise this time.

I don't remember the exact date as this was over 20 years ago, but I can deduce based on where I was living that the first sighting I experienced was in 1998 when the weather was warm. I saw this same craft two additional times at later dates in different locations approximately 1-2 years after this first sighting. I have since discovered that there were many sightings of this same craft in 2013 around Amherst by others whose descriptions match my experience. On this night I was in the parking lot of our apartment complex. Having put our household trash in the dumpster I began walking back towards our unit when I felt a presence like I was being watched and then heard a very faint, nearly silent hum. Somewhat like the buzz of power lines I suppose, but even more quiet than when that occurs. I looked around and then up and saw an all black craft hovering directly above me at approximately 50-100 feet high. From below, the bottom of the craft was triangle shaped and flat, I believe there was a slight indentation in the rear, but there was no tail of any kind visible from below or the side. There were lights on each corner on the bottom of the craft, either a single light or groupings which were dim, bright enough for me to see when looking directly at them, but not bright enough to have cast light or shadows on the ground or surroundings. From the side the craft was pyramid-like, similar to a stealth aircraft, but more pronounced upward and smoother/flatter sides. The scale was likely equivalent to approximately 3-5 cars. To the best of my memory, I believe the height was somewhere between 10 and 15 feet. As I walked through the parking lot the craft continued to hover above me, moving at the same pace as my walking, following me, still in near total silence. Within a minute or so the craft moved forward a bit farther into the distance at a slightly faster than walking, but still slow speed, approximately 100-150 feet away. The craft then instantaneously shot off very fast into the distance and out of sight in what must have been one second, still silent, no noise from acceleration, wind, or motors of any kind. The craft would have approached from the north and moved toward the south west from my location.

I saw the same craft at night, also around 9pm, approximately 1.5-2 years later, in the fall season, late 1999 or 2000. The second instance I was on the UMass Amherst Campus on North Pleasant Street directly across from the Campus Pond. The craft was slowly hovering silently, most likely a couple hundred feet off in the distance as it was not directly over the pond, but on the other side of some buildings on the opposite side of the pond. Moved slowly from the south to the north at what I would estimate to be around 3-5 miles per hour and shortly after shot off into the distance instantaneously and silently like it had during the previous sighting.

The third and last time I saw the craft was within one year of the second sighting, in the late winter/early spring prior to leaves budding on trees. This time I was in a vehicle headed south on Amherst Road in Belchertown near Arcadia Lake where the road is at a slightly higher elevation with a drop-off on the western side of the road. The craft was visible through the trees, moving slowly towards the south, but this time was flanked in the front and back by two large Chinook helicopters belonging to the Air Force. The helicopters did not appear to be chasing the craft, but rather escorting. This third sighting was during the daytime in early afternoon. We passed in our vehicle as we continued down the road, at no point did the craft speed off into the distance like the previous two times I had witnessed it. This is not far from the area where several sightings had occurred in 2013 by other individuals, documented in local media and news outlets, which were along the same road near the border of Amherst and Belchertown. I personally suspect that it was/is a still classified stealth aircraft being tested out of one of the nearby Air Force bases in the area.

After the 2013 sightings the Air Force first claimed that there was no aircraft in the area at the time of the sightings according to their radar and then later claimed that it was a C-5 Galaxy, which is a very large plane that is incredibly loud, flies at a higher altitude, but the sound is usually delayed and not heard until after the C-5 has passed by. C-5 Galaxies from Westover Air Base fly over Hampshire County on a regular basis, everyone in the area is very familiar with what they look like, sound like and fly like, all of which is nothing like what I saw nor what the witnesses in 2013 described seeing or hearing. A C-5 Galaxy as an explanation for this particular craft is more laughable than if the claim had been that everyone saw a weather balloon. I am selecting below that "I would like to be contacted by an investigator", but I am not expecting to be contacted or asking to be contacted, however I do not mind if someone contacts me if there is some reason to do so.

Drum like Object with Vertical Rectangle Light Panels

My experience happened in the fall of 1985 at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

It was either a mild late summer or fall early morning with a bit of fog. It was just after day break. I was walking along the campus center pond when I looked up over my shoulder to see what appeared to be a rotating like drum/cylinder that was defined by vertical rectangles of light. Nothing else defined the object but the rectangles of light.

The size of the light panels were maybe 10 feet wide by 15 feet tall. The drum was rotating in a right to left stop and go motion if I remember correctly. It was a silent moving rotating object that stayed in place as it sat on top of the fog above the pond. The UFO lasted for a few seconds and seemed to just fade out in place.

I looked about to see if there were any other people walking that morning on campus but there were not. I was alone. I remember just having a sense of curiosity and wonder, but no emotions of fear or concern at what I saw.

The object/craft was able to stop time.

A bright, star-like light descended at a 60 degree angle & did a 270 degree course change. Before it made the change of direction, it stopped time for about 3 minutes. My car didn't seem to be moving, but my thought process continued, during the sighting. I found myself consciously smiling to myself.

After 3 minutes, time & motion returned to normal. 2 minutes later, an F-4 pursuit plane flew by at treetop level. The object was flying towards the FAA site in Oberlin, Ohio. In less than 30 seconds both craft had traveled beyond visual sight.

I'm a former USAF NCO.

I was totally sober & cognizant.

I've had about 10 visual sightings since then.

Several UFOs, in motion, and in still formation, blinking on & off vis-avis our thoughts.

This happened behind the "Orchard Hill" Dorms at UMAss, Amherst across East Pleasant Street. I was a sophomore. There were 5 of us, all students and friends at UMass, and we climbed the one story structure that we called the Coal Tower overlooking the train tracks. Not sure what it was, maybe a mail snatching platform but there was room for us and it was a fun place to hang out.

It was a clear cool night. We were gazing into the sky watching stars when all of a sudden there were lights in the sky moving somewhat together, maybe 7-12 of them. They were possibly saucer shaped, completely silent, and they were coordinated in their formations

When one of us found it hard to believe what we were seeing and expressed that, all of them turned off their lights. We waited a minute or so and they re-appeared, completely silent, and soon had made a formation, a vertical line which was now standing still. At this point, one person shouted, "This can't be happening!" And again, the lights disappeared.

Another minute passed and they were back on, this time a little closer to such a degree that I could see a slight spinning motion, they looked more like rotating saucers but understand they were still quite small. A bit larger though and I could definitely now perceive the spinning and even slightly colored lights, spinning it seemed, in the one I was focused on.

It was at the point where I just had to decide what I would do if they landed; it was that real. It was existential, this was happening (I instantly decided I would not be interested in leaving at all and that I'd run) However, I did not feel fear. I think once more someone shrieked, 'This can't be happening!!" and again the lights turned off.

I don't remember exactly how or why but we were ready to leave, we'd been experiencing this for what seemed like 20 minutes. So, we climbed down the stairs and walked up to E. Pleasant St about 100 yards away and started the 1/2 mile walk into town to get something to eat.

A couple of minutes later from behind us swooped a very large cigar-shaped 'craft' that, although quiet, with no engine sounds, caused a noticeable whoosh overhead, just above the trees, and then was almost instantly gone. I just caught enough of a look to comprehend that it was big, maybe the size of a jet's body without wings.

I've been telling my kids and my grandkids this story for years, and I wanted to corroborate it and have tried to locate these long ago friends. Recently, I got in touch with my freshman room mate, a still photographer of high respect in the movie business, and his memory about it was fuzzy, but he told the story to his wife with whom he lived back then (and still does), and she said "Of course! You told me all about when you got home that night!."

Saucer over house in Amherst NY 1966 quiet whirring sound

I am reporting what I believe was a UFO sighting I had when I was a child It was in the mid 1960’s around 1965, 1966, or 1967 I was about 9 or 10 at the time.

It was mid august about 2 weeks before school started.

My parents, younger brother, and I were living in Eggertsville which is part of the Town of Amherst NY near Windermere Boulevard elementary school.

It was late evening full darkness my brother and I were looking out our bedroom window. Looking east we saw airplane strobe lights, stars, all that we saw on a regular basis. The night was clear.

Then I saw a red dot of light which zoomed from right ( South) to left (North) and lower. Very far away then it went left to right and lower again. Then it went to the left out of sight.

A few minutes later I heard a low whirring sound, sort of like a washing machine spin cycle in the distance, but it sounded stationary and above our house.

I went out the front door and looked up followed by my father, he said to get the camera, but it was out of film.

What I saw was about 30 to 40 feet wide and about 15 feet high with an amber row of square windows around the center. It was saucer shape, the same angles on the top 1/3 as the bottom 1/3 with the window section also about 1/3 high and straight vertical. It appeared flat on top and bottom. I saw a ring on the bottom which rotated a little. It was about 20 feet above our single story house.

Then I went back inside the house after what seemed a few minutes I did not see my brother or parents I felt alone in the house. After several more minutes the whirring sound left and must have gone to bed. My brother or parents do not remember this event. I am looking for any one who may have seen something like this around that time.
