At about 2:45 got up looked out at moon. Noticed what I thought was a star, just above the tree line. Then I watched it move and thought it was a Chinese lantern. But the it moved side to side and the did small circles and up and down. It moved higher in the sky very slowly and was even with the moon and then moved closer to moon. Watched it until 3:45 , woke up daughter and wife and the watched it with me. I then observed another due south and it moved in the same slow way as the other. Both we emitted light , but had no flashing lights like a plane. Observed 2nd one for 15 minutes.

Small bright, colorful flashing objects seen in Chittenango, N.Y.

My 2 sons, my wife and myself saw 2 u.f.o.s of approximately 15 inches each flashing red, yellow, blue and green about 23 yards from us and about 4 feet to 10 feet from the ground. They circled each other in an almost playful manner darting around and then left. Never saw anything like that before. My son captured some of it on his phone. They were quiet. Each one had about 8 colorful circles flashing. They were not drones or any toys. They were fast.

Single bright white light observed in eastern sky of northern hemisphere moving from south to north approx. 40-45 degrees off horizon.

While Moon gazing observed a single bright white light moving in a straight line from south to north in the eastern sky, approx 40-45 degrees off the horizon. Observed light with naked eye for approx 5 secs, then with pair of small 8x power field binoculars for approx 10 more secs. Observed light for approx 5 more secs with naked eye and then light simply vanished as it neared the constellation Cassiopeia. No flashing lights, such as strobe or navigation lights were observed at any time, nor any high altitude contrails associated with engine exhaust. No sound emitted from the light nor were any aircraft observed in the area. After light vanished, monitored sky for approx. 10 minutes for light to reappear with negative results. Conditions were clear sky with almost full moon. Monitored sky the following night (07/21) from 2200 - 2230 hours to see if light would reappear. Effort resulted in negative results. Have 26 years experience with military (Air Force) and very familiar with aircraft operations. Also have amateur experience skywatching satellites in orbit. This object was far too bright to be a satellite. My vision has been tested at 20/20. The single most important factor that drew my attention to this sighting was the brightness of the light.

Thank you very much for the excellent report! Your credentials with the USAF appear to speak for themselves.

One of the tests as to whether the object might have been a satellite is the amount of the sky the object traversed in the time you were looking at it. Can you estimate the angle it covered, measured in degrees, it covered during the 20 seconds you watched it?

Yes, I would estimate the light travelled approx 55 degrees. I base this estimate by using my arms as a reference; by facing due east and stretching out my arms to point due north and south, the distance between my outstretched arms would be equal to approx 180 degrees. I first viewed the object about 20 degrees to the right of my head and then tracked it to a point about 35 degrees to the left of my head when the light vanished. ((name deleted))

the two orange triangled craft aproached from the East making no sound, and practically flew right over head.

Two orange triangle craft flying at aprox. 100' in altitude. Craft flew east to west. I was aprox. 200-300' from them when they flew over. I noticed no distinguishing features such as windows or lights or markings, just the shape and color. The crafts were elluminated by street lights and the lights of the restaurant's parking lot. They made no noise at all. They were side by side with the craft farthest from us displaying a wobbling motion (rocking wing tip to wing tip). The aprox. speed was 50-60 mph. We were noticing the stars and how light pollution free the sky was when I noticed the craft aproaching from the East.

Red lights glaring over the sky of Town of Sullivan, Madison County, NY

My mother and my brother went to pick me up at this school for the Deaf Thursday April 6, 1978. I was living in the dormitory during the week. The reason my mother picked me up on Thursday that evening was because we had a flight to go to Daytona, Florida for a family vacation.

As usual when she can pick me up, she drive on back roads instead of the NY State Thruway (1-90), I recalled very clearly we were on Route 5. I was 13 and half years old. On the way home to Fayetteville, NY where we lived, we were approaching Town of Sullivan, NY, I saw what appeared to be a UFO. I looked up and saw two fireballs still in the sky over this hill and it was not blinking at all. Aircrafts usually do and high communication towers do blink as well. I saw was one fireball appeared higher than the other fireball as my mother was driving by. She could not see that UFO long enough to know since she was focus on driving on the road. I was sitting up front as my brother was sitting in the back. He saw it but ignored it.

Often we drove by this area many times and at the time there were no towers. The next time we went by, I saw no towers at the time.

This event occurred around 20:00 hours since it was already dark out and I know I had my dinner at the Deaf school. At first, I thought people would doubt me when I tell them about the UFOs I saw. I was wrong since my family and friends told me the next day that in the local newspapers that they reported a UFO. That UFO in the newspapers was NOT the same UFO I saw. Their UFO that was in the newspapers was a halo. It appeared above the other side of the City of Syracuse in the vicinity of Near West Side area. Town of Sullivan is way out pass Eastern part of Onondaga County. Town of Sullivan is in Madison County. That would be about 30 minutes drive apart or so.

Televison News Bulletin Reports UFO Sighting

This event happened in the mid 1960s when I was watching early evening television with my parents and sisters. It would have been around 7 P.M., or so, when a news bulletin came on. Those were the days when they would cut into the scheduled programming live on air and verbally announce the bulletin while flashing the news bulletin screen.

I still remember the words almost verbatim; “The Hancock Field Control Tower reports a large UFO traveling east over Central New York.”

My father immediately went outside to look, but was not able to see anything.

Hancock Field is the international airport located in Syracuse, New York. My home at the time of the event was approximately sixteen miles east of the airport. By happenchance some years later I acquired a paperback edition of Project Blue Book which contained black & white UFO photographs. One of those photos was listed as “Syracuse, NY, 1966.”

I’m pretty confident this photo depicted the UFO that was the subject of the news bulletin.
