Driving south on 135, saw 3 lights in the sky flying south east in a triangle formation a few hundred feet up

We were driving south on 135 at approximately 6:10-6:15pm, saw 3 circular lights/fireballs in the sky to the left of us in a triangle formation, a few hundred feet up. Could not tell the speed but we were driving 65mph and they were moving faster than that going southeast. Directly ahead of us in the distance were two more lights that looked like they were on a northeast path to intercept the other group. We couldn’t tell if they were planes or part of the other group. We did see a commercial airline (saw the normal flashing lights of a plane) traveling north/northwest at cruising altitude further to our left and the left of the triangle formation. This all lasted a minute or so before we had to exit the highway, where we lost sight of them.

We saw high up in the sky three long objects in the sky. We thought at first helicopters.

Lights went on (all lite up like fire) and then went off. All three were apart from each other. Yard got bright also...the lights went off and then back on.

We got scared and ran inside. But looked like ice cream cone shape with fire colors....took three pictures.

My son and his 2 friends were on a second story deck when one noticed a V-formation of lights. The lights were orange-amber and extremely large in size. They shouted out for me to see it. There was no noise and the sky was clear. The lights just disappeared.

We stood on the deck watching the sky and I saw about 3 lights form the direction that we last saw the previous light, shoot across the sky at extremely high speed. It was amazing how fast it shot across the sky. We have a picture..

Four orange lights

There were 2 orange fireballs, passing from the south, heading northeast. As they passed directly overhead, two more came from behind the trees, traveling at the same speed, about a half mile behind the first two. I took pictures with my camera phone but they didn't come out very bright. The lights didn't lose intensity, but did appear to flicker slightly, like fire.

We were sitting outside when a greenish blue object appeared crossing the sky then a stream of fire blasted for a second from the rear of the object. It flew across the sky then went down somewhere near sunrise highway. I feel it must of went down near Jones Beach. Then a bright light appear in a circle shape that was hovering in the same area where the greenish blue object fell. We followed the light to a open field and stood there watching what it was going to do. The circle shape started to rotate and around it, other lights in circular patterns appeared. A small circle came off of it and shot away fast. Two other small circular objects appeared near the big one, it stayed there for one hour, then vanished. During the whole event, the sky was different the whole time.

White color was shaped like a sphere but had what appeared to be white gas or something spilling from underneath in the center dropping like a tear drop. Sun was already setting well below the object leaving it against a dark blue backdrop.

Triangle with three large, dim, amber lights flew rapidly overhead and rotated once.

In 1995 I was returning from a wake with two friends. I was in the back seat. When we dropped off the front passenger at her house I got out to get in the front seat. I waved goodbye as she entered her house and noticed three dim amber lights, close together in a straight, horizontal line. I was facing south at the time from the curb. The lights were far away to the south above the horizon.

The area is frequented by aircraft as it is only 20-25 miles from JFK and Laguardia airports. The approach of airplanes is usually east-west. When I was a kid the Concorde was a frequent sight and sound.

This was different. First it was flying from south to north, heading in a direction overhead. The lights were dim, amber and didn't blink. So I watched as it approached rapidly. As the lights got closer I could see the formation wasn't a line but a triangle with one light in the lead. The lights were also round and not pin points. The diameter of each light being roughly 1/4 the length of one edge of the formation. As it flew more overhead, and it being a clear starry night, I could see it was moving quickly. I didn't notice any sound. It looked as though it was very high up.

I called to my friend in the car and said he should see this. I heard him say something like "see what?". While keeping my eyes on the lights I walked around the back of the car and glanced down at my friend with is head sticking out the car window, quickly looked back up. The lights were still there except they were now almost directly over our heads. I pointed up at them but he still said he couldn't see them. At this point the silence, speed and odd lighting really had my attention.

If it ended here I could have dismissed it as an airplane, or whatever and not have given it another thought.

As I watched it fly rapidly, relative to the stars in the background, almost directly overhead, it rotated. Rotated quickly so the two previously trailing lights were now leading. That sent chills through my spine. No airplane does that. I started yelling to my friend something like "holy #%#%#, look at it!", his head still looking out the window, in an awkward way, facing up. I glanced down and slapped him on the forehead to get him to look in the right spot. When I looked back up I could not find the lights again.

Square object with a textured surface that flipped end over end as it slowly moved through the sky.

I just discovered your web-site and want to report this. Even though it occurred eight years ago I remember it like it was yesterday. I pulled into a shopping center parking lot after first observing this while sitting in traffic. I got out to look and follow it as it moved. It was perfectly square-shaped with a textured surface. It was probably about 300 feet or so up and it was moving in a straight line from south to north with no deviation from the wind. It clearly was under controlled flight. It slowly flipped end over end as it moved. It was not travelling quickly; it was going at a slow, steady pace. Even as it moved to the north and I began to lose sight of it I could still trace its path by the fact that the sun glinted off its trailing edge as it continued to flip end over end. From the ground it really looked almost two-dimensional; it did not really have much bulk to it. I have read books about UFO's off and on for years starting with Incident at Exeter by John Fuller and I never have read of an object even remotely resembling what I saw. But it was midday during clear weather and there is no doubt what I saw.

Illuminated ball with rods protruding. Silently moved east to west. Very low. About 40 feet off the ground.

The U.S. had just launched the Explorer 1 satellite and the news said it was visible to the naked eye at approximately 8 pm eastern time. I went outside our home with my father to see the satellite. My father quickly gave up and went back inside the house but I stayed outside.

Shortly after he left, I observed a illuminated ball with rods protruding from it just slowly moving from east to west. I vividly remember that if I was on my neighbors' roof, I would be able to grab on to it. It made no sound.

From my memory, the ball was about 60 feet across. I watched it until it disappeared going west.

As I was just one month past my 6th birthday, I thought I had seen the satellite, and that's what I told my parents.

It was years until I realised that I had seen a UFO.
