slow moving dark craft near tappan zee bridge in ny

Date & Time of sighting: Friday morning, October 23, 2015 at approximately 11:25 am.

Place observed: From my car as I was driving from Rockland County NY, on I-287 East in South Nyack, NY approaching the Tappan Zee Bridge. The object was just south of the bridge, heading northeast, slowly. It was rather low, at approximately a 40-degree angle from my location and large enough to be seen from the approach to the bridge on the Rockland county side of the Hudson River. The object was neither over the bridge nor the Hudson River but was overland on the Westchester county side of the river, just south of the bridge. The bridge is just over 3 miles long so the object was at least that far away from me at the time my girlfriend and I first noticed it out of the windshield of the car.

As the road curves a bit the craft was on the left side of the car (south of the bridge) for most of the observation.

Description: Rectangular and black. Though not a perfect rectangle. More cigar shaped but it was not round like a cigar. Slow moving, angling down like it was preparing to land. It was large, not huge, about the size of a large commercial or military jet, but much darker than the gray used by the USAF. Most striking was its slow speed and shape. Flight characteristics were more like a blimp then an airplane. If it was a blimp it is one I’ve not seen before.

The object was visible to us as we drove almost the entire length of the bridge. We were driving in well moving traffic, moving at highway speeds for almost the entire length of the bridge. We lost sight of the craft as we approached the Toll plaza and just after we cleared the suspension portion (superstructure) of the bridge. At that point, it was too low from our angle to see anymore and was now to north of the bridge.

My girlfriend attempted to record the object on an iPhone but she did not begin recording until we were already passing thru the suspension portion of the bridge and since the craft was now at a low angle (approx. 10 to 15-degrees), she was recording it as we were passing thru the beams / cross section of the superstructure of the bridge. Therefore, the recording is basically a series of beams passing by at highway speed but the craft was visible to the eye in-between the breaks in the beams. Unfortunately we waited too long to begin recording. The reason for this is at first we assumed it was a slow moving large airplane moving away from us. However, the more we observed it and had time to discuss it, we realized what we were observing was unusual and worth trying to record. If there had been no traffic on the bridge, I would have stopped and gotten out of the car to witness it longer – it was that unusual.

Duration of observation – approximately 5 minutes.

Conditions: Bright, clear and sunny. A beautiful day. Perfect conditions for observing the sky. And this dark, slow moving object was perfectly visible and stood out quite vividly.

Feeling – an odd aircraft that neither of us could identify. It did not look extra-worldly or intimidating in anyway just out of the ordinary.

Saw out window. Flashing red lights, huge and low to ground, disk shaped.

Red flashing lights around object, in circular pattern. Very large and low to ground. Larger than a jet. Slowed down while I saw it out window. I've seen this type of thing before. Made hissing noise. Dark black sky, only object in sky.

Bright Blue Orb seen during 4th of July Fireworks display.

UFO Sighting: Tarrytown, July 4, 2014.

On the evening of July 4, 2014, I was watching the fireworks display over the Hudson River from a friend’s balcony in Tarrytown, just north of the Tappan Zee Bridge. The river was to my left, and the town was to my right. There were many fireworks displays up and down the river and many planes over the river, both large commercial jets at higher altitudes as well as many small private planes at lower altitudes. There were 8 people in our group, including small kids, and as many as 100 people lining the streets near the building where I was watching from. The Tarrytown Fire Department had many members present.

At 10:51 pm, as there was a pause in the show in preparation for the “Grand Finale,” I happened to glance at the sky to my right, away from the river. I saw a bright blue light streaking across the sky at low altitude, perhaps a few hundred feet up. It seemed destined to streak into the river until it skidded to a halt and jumped back away from the river, taking a stationary position near the shoreline. The movement of the object instantly struck me as bizarre, as it covered an incredible amount of distance in a few seconds and made a sharp 180 degree move. It also seemed to disappear for a few instants, or “skip” as it moved into position.

I took out my cell phone and took one photo and a 1 minute 47 second video. Even though the fireworks finale was going on behind me I couldn’t take my eyes off the object. It was an extremely bright blue light, it appeared to be round or orb shaped, and perhaps 5 to 10 feet in diameter, though the exact size was hard to tell. When the fi! reworks display ended the object instantly vanished.

A few others in my party saw the object after it moved into its stationary position, but nobody saw it move into position but me. It was unclear to all of us what it might be. I do not know if anyone on the ground saw it although I am pretty sure I saw members of the Tarrytown Fire Department pointing at the object.

Ufo seen over Tappan Z Bridge Westchester County NY

Me and a friend were talking and standing outside enjoying the evening and all of a sudden I noticed lights approaching the Tappan Zee Bridge over the Hudson River. We were about a few hundred yards away when we saw the object appearing to be a dark triangular object with very bright lights on each of the 3 corners. I took 2 pictures and couldnt photograph anymore with my ht evo 8 mega pix because i ran out of card space. My boyfriend and I have seen several ufos over the years in NY especially over Westchester County in the form of triangles, orbs and other unknown shapes.

Red Green and Blue pulsating object circling in a clockwise direction moving East to West

At approximately 22:10 on July 31, 2010, I walked outside of my apartment and something caught my eye in the sky. When I looked up, I saw 3 lights, red, green and blue in a triangle formation rotating in a clockwise direction. The lights were pulsating/blinking very fast. The object was moving from East to West towards the Tappan Zee Bridge. At first I thought it was an airplane, but I very quickly realized that this was something like I have never seen before. It moved at the same speed as a plane but I could not hear any noise. After about 30 seconds, I lost sight of it behind the trees, but appeared to be heading towards the Hudson River. When I first saw it, I was facing North- North - East, and it was at about a 60 degree angle. The lights were larger than those on airplanes. I would imagine that someone on the Tappan Zee or I-287 would have seen it since I live so close to the highway.

Fall of 1971 or 1972 between 1pm and 4pm. Place: North Tarrytown, New York. I was 10 or 11 years old, playing in yard with younger brother. We were called to front of house by mother to see "something in the sky". We saw a metallic, disk shaped object with dome and portholes. Each porthole glowed with lights that were colorful and bright. It was hovering at a height of 10 to 15 stories high. Suddenly, it started to rise quickly and then took off north.

Sometime between fall 1971 or 1972. It was a cloudy day sometime between noon and 4pm. I was 10 or 11 years old and my brother 8 or 9. We were playing in yard when our mother yelled for us to come over to the front of the house to see "something in the sky". We ran over and saw, at a height of 10 to 15 stories high, across the street, and slightly to the right from our position, a smooth, metallic, disk shaped object with a dome and brightly lit portholes. It was stationary but seemed to be slowly rotating and did not make any noise whatsoever. What impressed us about the portholes is that they had bright, pulsing colors emanating from them. At this height it seemed a little over shoulder width in width from my vantage point (I am 6ft tall with jacket lenght of 42-44). After a minute or so, it rose straight up until it seemed the size of a dime and then took off in a northerly direction. It was out of sight in about 10 seconds. This happened when we resided on 138 Beekman Avenue in North Tarrytown, New York. The residence was right next to a police station. We were on the sidewalk looking up and slightly north. My mother recalls the event but refuses to talk about it other than remark that she does remember it as I described it. My brother remembers it clearly. This memory resurfaced winter of 1992 and at first I thought it was of a dream until I checked with my brother and mother. My mother seems scared about that incident, my brother has an interest in the subject and I have been staring at the sky and reading related information ever since. I would like to know if this sighting has ever been documented by others and if there were any newspaper reports in the local papers. I have also had other, more serious experiences pertaining to ufos that I would like to discuss with someone.
