The time is a rough estimate. We were looking at the stars and saw what appeared to be three satalites positioned to form a triangle moving through the sky. The lights constantly held the triangle shape and moved at the same speed.

The objects disappeared from sight before they left our field of view.

Horrific sounds and odor

While camping approx. 15 miles west of Roslyn, WA., we were awoken by horrific sounds louder than gunfire. Our dog always alerts us to sounds in the night and she didn't make a peep. The sounds were of a popping nature with shrills overlaying or interupting it. The sounds traveled from the east to west of us and lasted maybe 30 seconds. We couldn't see anything but there was a terrible smell that lasted a few minutes similar to that of burnt wiring and plastic.

Bright light sighted for 1 1/2 to 2 hours bouncing eratically in a specific area of the sky.

The object was sighted while camping with 2 friends. It was quite high up, and appeared to be a bright star. But, the object darted back and forth, keeping in the same general area of the sky. It being July 4th, we initially dismissed it as some sort of fireworks, but the object remained, nearly straight above us for at least an hour and a half. It continued it's behavior of darting back and forth for the duration of the sighting. It appeared to make some subtle color changes (orangish to reddish to purplish) but we can't be sure. We could have been staring at it for a long time causing our eyes to play tricks on us (I'm a natural skeptic) but if I was forced to answer; I say it did. The sky was cloudless and there was no wind, and no sound emitted. I recorded it on my video camera but with the absence of background stars it gives almost no evidence of it's behavior. It only shows a light in the sky. Also, after an hour of observing, we heard the sound of jet aircraft but none were sighted. They (or it)were probably under the treeline (we were in a heavily wooded campground) out of our line of sight. My campmate claims he saw something eject from the object, but I did not witness that.



NUFORC Note:

The report is reminiscent of the sighting of a celestial body, but that is only a guess. NUFORC received multiple reports of a peculiar red light, sighted from Tacoma, WA, which is reported to have hovered over Puget Sound for an estimated 7 minutes, and which then was seen to suddenly accelerate and disappear over the mountains to the east in a matter of a few seconds. I was camping and looking at the stars with my brother and dad, when we saw two small balls. They were in formation one in front the other in back.The one in back shot off in a high speed. While two more balls of light appeared making a triangle moving slowly towards the east.

Spacecraft hovering with bluish lights from rectangular windows ( 8 ) enormous in size - quiet - peaceful

My mother and I were coming home from a relatives house. We were stopped at a light and in the distance less than a quarter of a mile away we see a spacesship suspended above a reataurant. There were rectangular shaped windows with a bluish light shining thru the eight windows. within seconds a honing sounded and the craft moved back and disappeared within seconds. We failed to report the incident, but later learned that a police officer witnessed a similiar event. The only reason I am reporting this years later is to find out whether or not other people from the N.Y. area witnesses this phenomenom.

I watched a program 3 years later on ufo sightings and it was reported that a number of witnesses reported spacecraft in and around Conneticut, Long Island, and Westchester.
