bright star like form moving up and down

I was laying in bed and looking out the window at what I thought was a blinking star or airplane with flashing lights. Sometimes the lights would flash blue and/or red. The object suddenly dropped in the sky and slowly rose back to its original position. It was a slow moving object, much slower than an airplane and was in my window for at least 30 minutes moving horizontally through the window area.

Cyclicly-varying brightness white flashing point-light with 5-second rate and 30-second period moving slowly west-to-east at night.

First spotted (through window) near Alcor-Mizar in Ursa major (very high in sky) as a single bright point flash of light significantly brighter than any nearby stars. Flashes continued at about 5-second intervals each with longer duration but diminished brightness until after 3 flashes duration was about 1 second and substantially dimmer than original flash. The flashes then increased in brightness and shortened in duration until approximately identical to first flash.

Cycle was seen to repeat at least 4 times until too near zenith to keep in sight through window. Object appeared to move-drift almost due-eastward at approximately 10 degrees per minute - MUCH slower than ISS or Iridium satellites that I enjoyed observing until satellites were recently de-orbited. MUCH slower than any commercial high-altitude aircraft.

No dimming or obscuration of neighboring stars observed.

Sky-conditions unusually clear, dark and cloud free.

The white non-blinking lights moving north in a straight line formation. The objects kept constant distance between themselves and proceeded in a straight line very high in the sky.

Four very bright white lights in a row alternating with a red and a green when the white lights went out.

I was working and went to an open door facing south for a cool breeze when I saw the oddest thing ever. Object was on a north/south course headed south. It was traveling away from me. It held a steady speed, straight course and constant altitude. Sky was dark, mostly cloudy but Mars was due south in the sky. Object was slightly lower that Mars in height. The object had 4 extremely bright lights, square in shape and lined up in a row next to each other on the horizontal. They all came on at the same time and lasted for 1 second and went out and replaced, number 2 was bright red and number 4 was green instead of bright white. So the sequence was white-white-white-white (1 sec on), off-red-off-green (1 sec on), (repeat series. The lights were not strobes and very large in size. Approx. size of a vehicle tail light at 4 second distance. There was a plane in the sky at the same time and in the objects direction. I am not sure if it was a small plane behind the o! bject and headed north west or a jet much further south of it headed in same NW course but it would have been on course for Chicago O'Hare airport, flight path is in that part of the sky. There was no sound and the white lights reflected off the cloud deck. Brightness is best described using a building perimeter light just under the object. This light is a clear bulb, 450 watt halogen and the objects lights were just as bright but about 50% of the size. Halogen light was about 100 feet from my position.

Possible Irridium satellite flash and then a high speed object approaches and makes turns then disappears

On the evening of March 5 around 8:55 PM Eastern I was admiring the clear night sky from my outdoor hottub near Rochester NY. In the sky nearly overhead and slightly west of the Big Dipper I glanced the dimming of what appeared to be a star about the brightness of Jupiter. I thought it may be an Iridium satellite flash that I have seen before so I kept looking at the area to see if I could find which way the satellite was heading.

Within about 10 seconds of the flash I saw a fast moving object approaching from the south-southwest glowing a dull reddish color – barely visible. It was travelling much faster than a satellite and perhaps half the speed of what I originally thought was a meteor.

When the object got into the general vicinity of the original flash, it slowed and a made U-turn and then another before it disappeared, all within the span of several seconds. I did not see any further trace of the satellite or the mysterious object.

4 orange glowing objects seen at night moving east to west

On the evening of Sunday, August 19 at about 9:02 Eastern Time I saw what I initially thought was a landing light of a small aircraft in the south eastern sky. I was in front of my house which faces east as I observed it. As it got closer to where I was, I thought it may have an engine on fire as it had an orange glow and much larger in size than a landing light. It was circular in shape but not constant in that it oscillated. I estimated it’s altitude to be between 2 and 5 thousand feet, now passing directly south, I realized that there was no sound associated with the object. Nor did it have typical aircraft navigation lights. It was then that I went back into the house to retrieve a camera to video the object.

My home is in a flight path of the Rochester Airport in Monroe Country which is about 18 miles away to the west so I am familiar with planes which routinely pass nearly overhead as they approach runway 10/28 from the east. Depending on weather, they are between 2600 and 6500 feet elevation traveling at about 180 knots. While they usually pass just to the north, they sometimes will pass to the south of my house.

The first object’s entire flight took it east to west in a fairly straight path at a constant velocity of perhaps 100 knots. It disappeared over trees in my back yard facing west. When I say overhead, it traveled through constellations Aquila and Ophiuchus at what I estimate to be about 55 to 65 degrees of elevation over the southern horizon.

Soon after a second similar object appeared from over the south side of the house, since now I was on a western facing deck and the house obstructed my view to the east. It appeared to follow the same trajectory at about the same velocity as the first object. I was able to get about 11 seconds of video of that object until it too disappeared behind trees to the west.

Later, at about 10:15, two more similar objects were spotted on the eastern side of the house, but this time slightly north and again moving east to west. I called my neighbor out of his house to observe and again, I took a video. While doing that, the first object flickered out followed shortly after by the second while still in the northeastern sky. This time they appeared to be lighted balloons. My neighbor is a New York State Trooper and we both concluded that they must have been balloons with flares, or something similar. What is odd is that prevailing winds are out of the west, and these objects traveled to the west.

Very large aircraft with lights as bright as the sun hovered near West Walworth New York

Very large craft with very bright lights descended very fast over Kutruff Hill near the hamlet of West Walworth. Although it was nearly the middle of the night, the lights lit up the neighborhood as if it was mid-day. These were not meteors emitting a quick burst of light, they seemed to hover, nearly motionless, for about 15 or 20 seconds. I could see my shadow on the ground. There was absolutely no sound as the lights appeared, and the craft took off at an astonishing rate of speed. Almost immediately, our property, which spans many acres, was inundated with very loud aircraft, all without any lights. I have been to NASCAR events and the way these aircraft were flying over my home would best be compared to the 'flyover' at the beginning of every race, except they went over our property multiple times. We live within 20 miles of an international airport, so I am not unfamiliar with many types of aircraft flying over our property, everything from homemade on! e-man contraptions to huge commercial airliners. This object moved in a manner I have never seen any identifiable aircraft move with lights as bright as the mid-day sun, which in and of itself was puzzling to me, but when it was followed by the roaring sounds of what appeared to be jets flying without any lights, it really drew my attention. I have lived in the area for over 25 years and have never seen a UFO here during that time. But I did live in the Hudson Valley region of New York State and witnessed several mass sightings in that area, some of which made headlines in local newspapers and television. This object was not as big as those I saw decades ago, but I would estimate it was at least three times the size of a 747.

Large red/orange orb traveling southeast between Milwaukee and Chicago.

Driving in rural area noticed large red/orange orb. It was the color of fire. One single light, no flashing lights. Traveled northwest to southeast. Hard to guess the size and distance it was away from the ground. It was a clear night was much larger and brighter than any star in the sky. I have observed many jets circling O'Hare airport and Mitchell Field.

This orb was much larger and brighter than commerical jet landing lights. It moved across the sky at a moderate rate. I was able to exit my vehicle and listen for any mechanical sounds none were heard. The orb moved across the sky, started to fade and quickly disappeared. No sign of tail like on a comet or meteor. Nothing like I have every seen before.

On Feb 28, 2000, 7:30pm, in south WI, I saw 5 circular, orange objects in formation moving extremely fast from SW to NE lasting 3 seconds.

My name is ((name deleted)), I live in South East Wisconsin, near the Illinois border, and on February 28th, 2000, at approximately 7:20 pm I witnessed five orange circular objects flying extremely fast. The objects either had orange lights on them, or were orange and glowed. They were too far away, and moved too fast to be certain. The "lights" weren't as sharp, or distiguishable as other airplanes in the sky at that time. They were definately round and clearly visible, but not bright, it seemed. They were clearly unlike any of the other aircraft or stars in the sky. They flew in formation: if you were to number them 1-5, top to bottom, you would see 1, 2, 3, and 5 in a diagonal line, spaced evenly apart, and 4 just offset, inbetween 3 and 5 and off to the left. They retained this formation as they flew from the south west to the north east at incredible speeds. I witnessed the objects for about 3 seconds, while they sped out of sight. For the record, I have never seen anything like this before; it was the most incredible thing I have ever been witness to.
