UFO seen at Barrett Beach Fire Island NY 6/19/21 at 4:17am

Saw a bright Circular yellow/green light about the size of a softball flying in no pattern almost zip zagging high in the sky. It got larger and smaller as it seemed to get closer and further away. i was on a boat with myself and another person and we both saw it. It blinked 3 times and then vanished into thin air. At the time there were no other people in sight or boats. It was at approximately4:17am on 6/19/21 at Barrett Beach fire island NY.

Our group of 5 were taking a walk from Davis Park to Watch Hill, a national park in Fire Island, NY. We walked to a boardwalk watch point that overlooks the ocean. 3 of 5 people had walked down the boardwalk away from the watchpoint while my partner and I stuck around and looked out at the sky. At some point my partner noticed a strange light in the sky. It is important to note that our location is under a flight zone so there are lots of planes and lights all over the sky.

This particular light stuck out though, yellowish beam dead center over the ocean in the sky sort of growing in brightness to the scale of a small circle you would make with your pointer tucked into your thumb. The strange thing was that it was sort of still in space. As we kept an eye on it at one moment it diminished to the point of seemingly being gone before reappearing again.

We watched it alone for about 10 minutes maybe before our friends walked back and joined us. They had also now seen this said light. I don’t believe we pointed it out to them. At the time we were still unclear if it was anything worth chatting about. That said we were all now focused on it.

Around this point, the beam was no longer fading away, only getting stronger. It remained around the same size, but now it was lighting up the ocean as though it were the moon. We were all mesmerized as to how an airplane in the sky would be so bright as to light up the ocean like the moon.

Here is where it gets wild. Suddenly this beam just came at us or to us like the snap of your finger. It was no longer lingering and just came to us. I didn't hear any sound of a ship. It was almost like a ship coming that appeared now appeared dually as a drone like object. It is though to describe because I have never seen anything like this. I will try my best.

As this ship came at us a drone seemingly came down, but the drone in my eyes was only visible in the moment the ship was crossing over us, almost like it was in two places at once. For me it appeared as a vertical infinity sign without the bottom loop closed, silvery, shimmery, and almost like a glimmer. It looked like it came down and scanned us or looked at us. I thought it was maybe 15-20 feet away but a friend of mine said 100. To me it seemed extremely close and as it came to us and the ship was passing the aircraft did this magical thing where it turned into something like a shiny silvery stick figure of lights on the ship that lit up as it crossed over us making a walking stick figure light show. It was all very overwhelming. It is hard to say if it controlled our emotion (full elation) or if we were just all in awe of what was happening which is also likely. 5 people who all use a phone regularly didn't even think to pull our phones out. We were completely awestruck at its visiting us. I almost think we scared it away in our excitement.

As the now certainly UFO passed us, we all watched as within seconds it passed and was now over Long Island. I specifically remember now it was a red light we were following upon crossing us and passing. I also remember as we watched it go away to Long Island it than made a left as if to turn around and then simply stopped and hung still. Now a red beam over Long island that we were all watching.

I don’t recall what happened to it, if it disappeared or if we started looking for more… You have to understand how overwhelming this was. We were in shock and maybe not making best decisions (of course now we all wish we took pics). We spent awhile after this searching for maybe another ship because a friend of ours who grew up on Long Island and frequented Fire Island throughout her life had described a similar sighting to another friend with us prior to our witnessing this event. Her sighting was not nearly as close as this one though. So now there we are thinking maybe we can get another one to come.

Also I don’t know if its vain to think we lulled it in, but my partner had given everyone a flashlight which we had been shining at the ocean in random order just for fun not thinking anything of it. Also at the beginning when it was just him and I he spotted it and was whispering to me saying it likes me … he sensed that it was gonna come to us. He may have even said watch, it likes me as it zero’d in on us.

Ok to back track a bit. This half infinity like glimmer, drone, orb, but was nothing like anything I have ever seen with my own eyes. I am doing my best to relay my memory to paper. It is possible it controlled our emotion.

That's really it. It was a slow build, and than it happened so fast. It didn't move like an airplane or in any earthly way for that matter. It moved in its own space and time.

I am not certain my friends witnessed the part where the ship above seemingly lit up in a stick figure dancing bye light show while passing. I will try and get them to write their experience as well. I hope one or two of them are willing.

Oh, also we had a dog with us that was super spooked after the event. Its owner said it never acted that way before. The dog tried to stop us from walking home by jumping at sand pulling us back as well as going in front of us as if to say do not walk this way.

A flash of blue green light in a south western direction about 75 feet above Atlantic Ocean coastline.

At about 1500 hrs., on Wednesday October 18, 2017, while sitting on the stairs that go out to the beach , I observed a flash of light (yellow / green) heading in a south west direction. The observation lasted about 2 seconds. The color of the object is similar to natural gas given off by a kitchen range.

4 orange lights low in the sky observed from Fire Island, NY.

Viewing location was from an ocean view deck on Superior Walk, looking west to Ocean Beach. Light northwind, clear skies. Moon was out and approximately half full, waxing.

3 orange colored lights appeared low in the sky in a semi triangle pattern. The objects appeared to be moving at a comparable rate to small aircraft, roughly 60-100 knots. A fourth object of the same color and size appeared behind the first 3. Initially these objects were thought to be small aircraft, but their proximity to each other seemed too close, and like nothing any of the witnesses had ever seen before.

The orange light was constant and no flashing beacon lights or strobes, as would be seen on an aircraft were observed.

Approximately 20 seconds after the first objects appeared, the initial 3 turned southwest and rapidly moved out of sight. The fourth object made a turn in the same direction, southwest, and was observed for another 20 seconds, until the object was completely out of sight.

Witnesses are avid outdoors people and spend a considerable amount of time observing night skies. None of the witnesses had observed such lights in the past. One witness is a lifelong aviation buff, and former air traffic controller.

silver orange craft clearly seen..

i rent a house in ocean bay park on fire island. it was monday night at about 11pm. my wife and i were sitting on the 2nd story deck looking south towards the ocean. it was partly cloudy. we were watching the airplanes in the sky pop in and out of the clouds. then we saw a silver-orange round craft travel parallel to fire island in a east to west direction. it was about a mile offshore, and about 6000 feet above the ground. it traveled a little slower than the propellor planes. this was no plane, had no strobe lights, and glowed silver orange.

Object looking like a comet spotted over ocean at Fire Island.

The Object Was round with a bright tail streaming off of it as it moved. It was far off in the distance, but it was hard to tell how far it was compared to how big it was. In my best estimation i would say it was about 5 to 10 thousand feet up. It was glowing faintly, at first i thought it was an after image from staring at a bright light but my 3 freinds saw it also. The object was perceived to be moing very slowly, but withouth knowing its size or distance its imposible to know exactly. It turned from its downward direction and started looping around in a random swirling pattern before slowly spreading out to 10 times its original size and fading away as it did so. My freinds and i all agreed that it did not look like fire works, a meteorite, an airplane, a baloon or a search light. The witneses that i know of.. although im sure there were more. are all college students, from long island NY.

While Kayaking in the Bay, I noticed a large black Cylinder rolling/floating in the sky, I pointed it out to a man on shore and a passing boat, it hovered and flew slowling against the wind, it was metal, it reflected the sun(very clear day), after 10min. it either shot off or disapeared very quickly.

It could not have been a black balloon, you could make out metal on it when it reflected the sun. It shot off out the atlantic ocean. I noticed several commercial jets landing into JFK, I'm sure they could see it off to their left.

Fire Island up close encounter with a UFO.

It was the end of the summer season and the island was mostly vacated. A friend and I were walking on the beach in an eastward direction. He spotted a light coming from the northwest over the Great South Bay. It was a moonless night. He kept and eye on it as we strolled along, his hobby was identifying airplanes by their landing lights or sound of an engine. As the object got closer it was easier to see. It was low and slowly coming in our direction. It looked flat at first then came closer still so that we could see slightly under it. From beneath it we noticed a blue flashing light striking the water. It ticked when it flashed. It was going about 5 miles per hour and as it got to shore, over the forested reserve between the Pines and Water Island the blue light stopped. We couldn't hear an engine...nothing. It was moving towards us and I panicked running up a small dune and dune fensing to one of the homes where I saw a man watching tv. I looked down at Ken and he wasn't following or responding so I went back down and yelled to follow. He grabbed my wrist and pushed me into the dune as the craft moved overhead. We huddled together in shock...at least I was. It had a 90 degree, cone-shaped nose, a swept back wing and deep body. I estimate it was 400 ft wide by 200 deep (nose to tail). At that time I lived in a a 20-story building on Sutton Place, in Manhattan, so I used that scale to quess the dimensions and hieght of it. It was approx. 20 stories overhead. The back end was arced slightly into the body. It was dark grey or black. The color was hard to see, however the shape is burned in my mind since the starry sky defined it so clearly. It continued to move and when it got to the southern (beach) shore of Fire Island it stopped. No sound, no engine noise, no vibrations, moving at 5 MPH... it just stopped in mid air over the beach. By this time we could see the rear of it and Ken said, "Look at the pattern of lights." There was a small red light in the middle rea! r and two white lights at eithther end. They blinked red, red, rt. white, red, lft white then the white light moved across to the other white light across the rear. Then we saw an amber light, like the ones on the helicopters that patrolled the east river sometimes. I said, "Thank God it must be the National Guard." It got closer, but we heard no sound. It was a round, glowing, amber light, the color of a glowing flame. It was about 12 in diameter, I think. The nose of the ship was still pointing southwest. Suddenly the amber light collapsed. It disappeared. Then the large craft, on it's axis, pivoted pointing its' nose due south. It moved forward until it was over the ocean and the blue flashed started up agin. We sat there watching it move towards the horizon flashing the blue light every 40 feet or so as if it was mapping or searching for something. We walked back to our hosts house. On the way I kept asking Ken what he had seen. I wasn't sure if it had happened so I asked him if he had seen anything on the beach. I was unhappy to hear that he had seen somthing. I asked him to describe what he saw and to my dismay he did. We went back to the house and told our friends. Of course, I was in shock and couldn't sleep that night. I wanted to know what I'd seen. Ken slept all right. When he got up I asked him how he got any sleep at all and he said that he'd seen one before as a child on his parents woodlands in Ohio. That wasn't what I wanted to hear.

At that time I was Chief Operations Office for a large furniture company in Manhattan. My friend was studying to be a personal trainer. I've always wanted to report the incident. I've told some close friends about it. I spent the next three months reading UFO literature. I needed to define what I'd seen. My life chnaged. NYC was no longer the center of the Universe. Everything seem so insignificant.
