Bright light traveling overhead, flashed and lit up brighter for several seconds before fading and disappearing completely

While watching for persied meteor shower I witnessed several planes blinking throughout the sky, but one moving light in particular caught my attention and once I looked at it it got extremely bright and stayed bright for several seconds before slowly fading and disappearing completely.

Object changed speeds then a flash of white light.

It first caught my eye cause it looked like the INS was making a pass. But it seemed to slow down its speed then a flash of white light took over around the object. It looked to then go straight up.

At 4:00 a.m. in the clear night sky a diamond pattern of lights, varying from blue to green to red to white, were observed hovering.

Hovering lights very high in the clear night sky. Observed for 44 minutes, from 4:00 a.m. until 4:44 a.m. Lights varying from blues to greens to reds, some white lights, circular at times, often in a diamond shape or pattern, once in a great while a white light shoots from it off to the west of the hovering. Observed to the southern sky of the New York/Pennsylvania border. It appears there are one or two also hovering smaller lights to the west of the hovering light pattern, also high in the night sky. It is all too close to be a satellite, and isn’t moving as the space station would or a plane or helicopter could or would. Two airplanes ascended at 4:30 a.m., but far too low and close to the earth by comparison to the hovering lights. The smaller hovering lights to the west of the diamond pattern lights are greenish and white. The smaller hovering lights are more concealed. How can those lights hover for so long? Fascinating to observe.

Three lights forming tight triangle hovered in the sky for about 15 mins then was gone.

At first glance looked like a bright star but then my husband and I saw it move slightly to the right.

After watching for a few minutes I saw it wasn't a bright light but three lights forming a tight triangular shape. It hovered but moved slightly the whole time we watched.

Our neighbors came out and watched with us a few more minutes and this same hover and sway thing repeated.

It reminded me of a boat that's anchored it had a slight bobbling movement. Make sense? We went inside after watching for about 15 minutes.

We came outside about 20 minutes later and it was completely gone.

Also want to point out that while we were observing many airplanes were suddenly out. As many as five at once in the same general area and direction in the sky. Hmmm…

Triangle aircraft in Vestal, NY

I am a Army Vet, age 34, single mother of 3 children (ages 13,8,7).

Last night, The children and I were driving home from my parents house. The sky was over cast and no moon or stars. I saw a big red glow in the woods and thought it was a house fire. We went to check it out and saw a aircraft with 3 lights in a perfect triangle shape. Lights were red blue and white. The craft was as big as a tennis court. It took a few quick spins around and lifted up over the trees. It was about a football feild away from our car. It was moving about 10 mph and was wobbling. It was above a cow pasture and when our car got closer it started flying faster and the blue and white lights turned off. The red light turned toward us and it moved across the road into a hay feild, flying with the flat of the triangle foward. As soon as it crossed over all the lights came back on. It flew fast but still wobbling across the feild and up over the trees. We drove the car to catch up with it. When we got to the bottom of the hill, we saw it again, fly over the highwa! y and over the river and back in the trees on the other side and the last we saw it. There was no sound , no windows and not anything I could ever imagion seeing.

This morning, I drove back to the same location to see if I could find any markings or limbs down, but it was hard to say because I really didn't feel like getting out and walking in the snow. I stopped and talked to the farmer of the property and he said he saw strange lights behind his barn last night around 10am. He at first thought someone was messing around but soon got scared because it was so strange. Behind the barn is where the cows are fenced in. And behind the barn is a field and tree line. He didnt think any cows were missing.

Tonight, I called the vestal police department. They took it very seriously. The police said there have been many reports this month from vestal . He said even some police have witnessed strange aircrafts. The officer talked to me for almost 25 min.

Triangle-like lights seen flashing/blinking, moving circular then south west, then disappearing. Seen from highway 17C near Vestal, NY.

Seen from car going south on 17C. Triangle like lights were noticed in sky near radio towers, glowing/blinking, moved in circle like pattern before moving considerably faster in a south west direction and disappearing. The whole event was witnessed from the car and only lasted a few seconds. I may be wrong, but I believe my cellular phone was acting strangely for a while afterward.

Formation of light colored orb-like crafts dance around one another, then vanish.

i walked out of my apartment complex in a shopping plaza well-lit by fluorescent lamps. i was not looking at the sky deliberately, and my gaze was attracted toward the sky at approximately 45 degrees upward and north from my position. i saw "lights" moving around in the sky. they were strange in appearance - a look i can only describe as cool: i saw a group of white/cream luminescent orbs dancing around one another. i stopped, confused. i wondered if these could be birds or something rising up from the surface.

there was a formation of six or seven crafts which seemed to be interweaving. they all appeared to be moving "away from me" but yet some seemed to be moving backwards and sideways within this overall forward motion. i could not tell how far away or how fast they were. within a moment, the lights became slightly dimmer and then totally vanished.

Close range observation of a brightly lit egg shaped UFO in Vestal, NY

My wife was witness to the event, and these details were given by her, to me, for recording here.

My wife sometimes has trouble sleeping, and such was the case in the early morning of 09/02/08.

She was laying in bed, looking out the bedroom windows, which face in a southerly direction.

The windows allow observation of the tree line at the edge of our property, and the adjoining woods, which cover a hill which is about 100 feet higher in elevation than our house.

Her attention was drawn to an unusual light in the sky. She left the bed and went to the window to get a better view of the object. Its shape was sharply defined since it appeared to be quite large, and was brightly lit with a yellowish white light. I asked her to extend her arm in front of her and move her thumb and forefinger apart to the approximate size of the object as it appeared from her viewpoint. She indicated a distance of about two and a half inches between thumb and forefinger. She further stated that the object was uniformly lighted, did not cast any discernible light on the wooded area below, and did not appear to have windows or other surface features..

She described the object as a modified egg shape. The small end was pointing toward the direction of travel. The bottom side was less angular in comparison to the top, and the rear was more square than round. The object emitted no audible sound and its direction and speed were uniform.

Initially the object appeared over the tree line. It traveled slowly west to east at a downward trajectory of about 20 degrees; almost as if on a landing approach. As its altitude decreased, the tree line began to increasingly interfere with her view until the object was no longer visible. The object was observed for a total of about five minutes.

We live in a more rural part of Vestal and there is very little man made ambient light. The sky was clear with no moon at the time of viewing, and sunrise was three hours away.

The next day, out of curiosity, I called the Vestal police department and inquired if there had been any reports of UFOs, lights in the sky, etc., and the person I was talking to said he was not aware of any such reports. Hmmm…

A large, green ball of light streaked across the sky, and looked if it were going to crash into the ground

I was waiting for the bus home from work @ approximately 24:05. I was chatting with one of my co-workers, and I happened to glance to my left. A large, bright green ball of light with a green "tail" streaked across the sky at a very fast pace, moving downwards at a steep angle. It looked to me as though the ball would crash into the college campus located about 1/4 of a mile east up the road. I asked my co-worker if she had also seen the light, and she said that she had, but only for a few seconds. I kept waiting for the resounding crash that I was sure was coming when the "craft" would hit the earth, but I heard nothing. Initially, I thought it may have been a plane that was in some sort of trouble, but then, after I got on the bus, and my co-worker and I talked more about it, I realized that it might not have been just a plane. It made no noise whatsoever, and from where we were standing, it was not that far away that we wouldn't have heard the roar of the engine if it were a plane. I have just read another person's account of a similar ball of green light shooting towards the ground 2 years ago in Johnson City, NY, about 7 miles away from where I had my sighting, and that is what has really convinced me to share my experience.

Light flies over observatory immediatly after MIR.

We were outside looking at MIR flying over, but right after MIR flew by, we saw a bright light fly fastly over the trees. We tried to explain the object: it couldn't be a heliocopter because we did not hear a heliocopter and it couldn't be a jet or a propeller plane because it was flying too low. Also, the object turned very sharply southeast after a minute and disappeared.

Observed similar long tubular object on 05/30/99. As it turned, the sun's rays reflected from a row of at least 20 windows along the side.

My wife and I were stopped at a gas station near the Vestal library when we spotted this long cylindrical object silently flying in the southern sky. It had no features such as wings or tail structures and had a shiny metallic appearance. It was traveling much slower than the similar object that we observed on May 30, 1999. It was traveling to the east when we first noticed it, but it then started to make a slow right hand turn. As it turned, it passed through the angle at which it reflected the suns rays towards us. For a short time a row of at least 20 individual bright lights appeared on the side. These lights may have been the reflection of the sun from a row of windows on the side of the craft. As it turned southward along route 26, it climbed in altitude and then suddenly disappeared at an extreme rate of speed. No sound or vapor trail was apparent. The sky was perfectly clear. This sighting occurred at almost the same time as the previous one, right before sunset.

Observed silvery tubular craft with bright white lights along the sides. No sound or vapor trail, no wings or tail structure.

My wife and I were gardening in early evening about 12 minutes before sunset. The sky was clear with very few clouds. We watched as a cylindrical craft traveled from the SW to NE at a uniform rate of speed, passing overhead just to the south of us. It had a row of very bright white lights along the side of the body, the body had a very reflective metallic appearance. The craft appeared to be at least 25 diameters in length, a very long cylindrical structure. It was sufficiently low in altitude so that we could see that it was not a conventional aircraft, no wings, tail or other visible structures. It progressed uniformly along a straight line path at a bearing of about 20 degrees north of East. No vapor trail or no emission of sounds. We frequently watch the many high altitude commercial flights that cross over this area. This craft did not follow any of the paths usually followed by the airliners. This craft was much lower and any engine noise should have been noticeable.
