My son woke me up his room was shaking and his chair was vibrating. We went outside and looked to see what could have caused the vibration. We live on a very high street so it could not be a truck. we looked up and to the south of long island we could see a bright red light [very large] and a smaller one below it. We took pictures of this and as of right now it is still there, 20 minutes now. The light stayed steady but would glow brighter slowly and then go back.it looked to have red branches on the southern side of it that branched out.its wasnt so much a pulsating light but there was a definite pattern to it.changing approx every [2] minutes [EST]. It is a much brighter red on the rim and a lighter red on the inside, the smaller one is to low to really see what it is doing. The pattern would be very bright foe 5 seconds and then dim. The pattern then changed to bright red staying longer,[approx [4] min by watch.as i write this the vibration had stopped after 5 to 10 seconds and nothing since. we are going back out to see if it is still there. This cannot be a plane or a tower light we can see that also [the tower light] it is very large and seems quite low.with our cell phones we can actually see it turning shapes like a worm for lack of a better word. It stays in that unformed way twisting and seems circular but not solid.after approx 5 min its then glows into a huge red mass pulsating approx 3x and then goes into a unformed weird worm movement,yet you can see in the video it looks fluid not solid. We have a 10 minute video. It is still out there with the smaller one under it quite far away from the top one doing the same movements.

Dark triangle with orange lights seen in Selden NY

Me and my father were driving back from dropping off my grandmother at her apartment and above the trees we saw a dark object in a triangle shape moving slowly along.

There were 4 orange lights to outline the hape of the thing. I thought the orange lights were the same color as orange flares that I had seen recently before and had filmed. These orange lights moved together in this triangle shape and disappeared behind the trees.

We didn't see it anywhere after this.

I'm a total skeptic and not assuming this was an "alien ship from another world", but it was very very odd, and slightly unsettling.

My dad was more alarmed than me. He kept saying "what the hell is that?!"

While I was at a stop sign, waiting to make a right turn, I noticed a very bright glowing light coming from the south east. at first i thought could it be a plane on fire.

Then, I saw it was flying in my direction. As it got closer, I saw it was a very bright glowing light of a aircraft. As it got closer, I saw it was not an aircraft, as we know one, but a shape like our pentagon, almost.

It was silent, with very intense bright rings of amber pink circles, of the exact same size of each other. It hovered at about 1000 feet or more above me silent, and then moved hovering in a north east direction.

At that point, I tried to follow it in my jeep, but lost it, as it gained altitude and headed north very fast.

I would also like to mention about five years ago at the old Grumman's site in Calverton, NY, as i was watching sky divers floating down, I noticed something following down above them and quite close. It looked like quarter lenght of a telephone pole, very gracefully moving about 100 feet above the ground and hangars.

At first, I thought possibly some one had a jet pack on. As i got closer, I saw it was just a pole floating and hovering. Then, after about 4 minutes, it gained altitude, and flew south east out of sight.

triangular hovering unknown "tracked" by multiple craft

I am a gazer and enjoy a clear night to locate and identify many objects and position in my little section of the sky. In 20+ years I have become familiar with an assortment of craft sharing our LI skies. I can recognize the difference between the Yaphank and South Hampton US military equipment performing maneuvers(usually during late evenings) and know where their insallations are located vs passenger liners en route to and from Islip Int'l Airport, JFK and LaGuardia airports by regulated identification marker lights. I know the distinctive nightime sounds of chopper blade rotation and winged craft props, jet exhaust rumbling, etc. operated by NY Suffolk County Police and various NEWS choppers, instantly, when vectoring over my "area". So, I have become unimpressed by their appearance due to familiarity.

On Jan. 4, 2012 at approximately 7:30 pm EST I became aware of the unusual amount of aircraft traffic flying in unfamiliar patterns over Western LI .

I was alarmed by the number of visible craft flying in a seemingly congested space at various altitudes and unusual patterns ranging from N-S, W-E, W-N, NE-S. During the next few hours, I watched multiple craft flying varying directions in distances of 1 mile to 5 miles(ed. guess)from my location.

The patterns, criss-crossing pilot maneuvers, low altitude banking and deliberate circling about kept my attention and was unsettling.

Description of moving craft "lights" varied from single solid amber to solitary white strobe, some( I think they may have been choppers) strobed white AND red flashers. There were low flying, fast-moving craft outfitted with huge double tiered solid red lights positioned aft.

It was hard to distinguish which craft made which sound.

On Jan. 5,2012 (night #2) I again witnessed multiple white and amber lights in the W-S/W sky at approximately 7:30 pm. I am aware that Venus was low in the evening sky at similar location. This was not Venus......unless Venus can somehow switch from her familiar bright, head spotlight look into an upturned, spinning triangular shape with the ability to hover over the same area.

Many craft were "scrambling" in all directions, again. Why? I have no idea.

I blogged News12 on Jan. 6, 2012 asking if I was alone in my sighting - if someone could tell me what was that?? I continue to watch multiple craft (I think military) in the sky from dusk 'till 2:00 am EST. After that, its quiet.

at 5:30 on 1/3/11 , i was walking my dog faceing north when i saw a flash in the sky.I saw a star moving from north to south .as it move it flashed, move and flashed again it did it 4 times . and then it move out of sight.

Strange object moved across almost the entire night sky, looked like a star, but wasn't

Friday, @ 10:12pm on 7/9/10, I was sitting outside my home and looked up into the night sky. I saw something that looked just like any regular star in the sky move across almost the entire night skyline until it dimmed and disappeared. It was too far away and small with no other lights to be a plane. It had no trail streak behind it, nor did it move fast enough to be a shooting star.

TRIANGLE SQUARE SHAPED OBJECTS OVER SKYS OF SELDEN

THIS IS 06/27/2002 AT ABOUT 10:25 P.M. I WENT OUTSIDE TO GET SOMETHING OUT OF CAR WHEN I GLANCED INTO SKY THERE WERE FOR LIGHTS SHAPED AS A CIRCLE THAT WAS DOIN SOME KING OF FORMATION..I RAN INSIDE GOT VIDEO CAMARA OUT RECORDED ABOUT 3 MIN OF FOOTAGE..THERE WERE 4 BRIGHT LIGHTS IN THE SKY ABOUT I DUNNO MAYBE A COUPLE OF FOOTBALL FIELDS AWAY ON A 90 DEGREE ANGLE THEY WERE MOVING IN A FASHION OF A TRIANGLE SQUARE DIFFERENT SHAPES THEY WERE CLOSE ENOUGH TO ALMUATE THE STREET I WAS STANDING ON..I DONT KNOW IM STILL TRYIN TO GIVE SOME KIND OF REASONING FOR THIS PLANE HELICOPTER BUT HOW I DONT KNOW THEY JUST DISAPPEARED AFTER 3 MIN GONE WITHOUT A TRACE..IM IN SHOCK I DONT KNOW FIGURED I'D RIGHT A REPORT JUST IN CASE ANY ONE ELSE SAW THIS..I HAVE NO CLUE MY VIDEO CAMARA DIED IN MIDDLE OF TAPING NOT THE BATTERIES IT WAS FULL I DUNNO IM SCARED SHOCKED I DONT KNOW WHAT TO SAY..

Large Light Sighted Over Long Island NY

I'm posting this report about 15 years too late, but I still remember exactly what I saw, it is one of those moments in your life you replay over and over again so that you don't forget.

I was young and very much into scifi and aliens. I would watch the sky after dinner for hours until my bedtime. After a while I started getting away from doing so but one night while shooting hoops under the street light near my house, I saw a light.

At first I thought it was a shooting star (which was weird to me because the area where I lived was very bright at night, i had only seen shooting stars at a beach or on the sound where there are no city lights around). I was facing north watching the object fly horizontal high across the other houses, but yet still far below the majority of the stars in the sky.

It flew west to east as i watched it almost as if it was a train on a track.

Then about 20 seconds into the sighting it started flying northward and continually got smaller and smaller. I want to stress that it appeared to be flying slowly like a plane does at a high altitude, but this wasn't high and it changed its heading on a dime.

It also appeared to speed up greatly once it made its northernly course.

I want to include that this sighting was long before the Flight 800 tragedy, but i've heard that some people think they could be related.

Saw a star stop make two 90 degree turns then vanish

My mother and I were sitting on our back deck star gazing and enjoying the summer breeze. The was a common thing for us to do and gave us a good time to talk.My mother first noticed a star moving and said "look a satalite" when she pointed it out to me I saw what appeared to be a star moving. We watched it till it stopped and made an abrupt 90 degree turn moved just a little bit and then made another abrupt 90 degree turn then vanished. I could be wrong but ive never seen satalites do this before. It looked like any other star not real bright and no distinct color just white.

Glowing cigar craft hovering over Middle Country Rd

We noticed a large glowing object hovering low in the sky from our rear window(our house is situated on higher terrain than surrounding area).We jumped into the car and raced to it to get a better look (2000 ft away according to google earth measurement).It was stationary and silent approximately 100 ft in the air above intersection of Middle Country Rd(rte 25) and Boyle Rd in Selden. Odd that only one other person in another car pulled over to observe it as rte 25 is very heavily travelled. All surrounding sound seemed muted. The object was large(possibly 100 ft long x 20ft high). It looked mettalic and glowed. It had translucent panels which reminded me of windows and what seemed like shapes or figures looking out. It moved very slowly and silently westward for 150 ft then reversed back to original spot. This lasted 5 minutes, at which point it slowly moved south out of our view. Odd that we never discussed our experience until a year later. I look up into! the sky every night since then.
