Orangish glowing object rose above shore to high altitude and then sped away

I am a US citizen but reside currently most of the year in São Paulo, Brazil. My wife and I are in New York State visiting my family and have been vacationing several days by the beach in Montauk, NY, out near the tip of Long Island.

This is a pretty clear and starry night so after the kids went to sleep we went out on the patio of the room we are renting and did some stargazing. At approximately 11:20pm or so (we did not look at the time so this estimate is give or take 5-10 mins.), just as we were turning to go inside my wife shouted for me to look. Looking to the SW we saw what appeared to be a bright orangish fireball rising slowly up into the sky. There was no sound from the object that we could detect although it seemed to be close, perhaps a couple of hundred yards away at the most. It then seemed to gain speed and ascend quite high into the atmosphere and began to head NE at what then seemed to be quite a high speed, as it disappeared from view in less than a minute. We were awestruck especially since it moved so fast and yet made no sound.

Our room is at the ((name deleted)) Resort in Montauk, which is right on the beach. Our view from where we stood, looking in the direction of the location from which the object seemingly began to rise above the ground (or ocean?) was partially obscured by the building, to the extent that we did not catch view of the object until it had already (at first very slowly) risen to a height of what appeared to be 50 feet or more. At first we both wondered if it could be some kind of object on fire being carried up by a balloon, but this did not seem to be a possibility once the glowing light rose up very high and then began traveling away from us at what seemed to be a very high speed.

Yellow to orange colors radiating above and below cylindrical or disk shaped object travelling at high rate of speed

To whom it may cocern, My wife and I were spending the weekend at a motel in Montauk,N.Y. on Friday - Sept.09,2011 My wife was sitting on the terrace while I was watching television in the livingroom.

She began calling me to come see something in the sky that she had no idea as to what it could be.

The sky was crystal clear with a full compliment of stars.

At approximately 21:15 hrs. I stepped onto the terrace,of which we had a 180 degree unobstructed view of the sky and a eastern,western and southern view of the Atlantic Ocean.

I observed a cylindrical or disk shaped object with a bright yellow to orange color radiating above and below the full length of the object.

It appeared to be travelling at a speed greater than a passenger jet,from west to east.

I raised my I-4 cell phone to get a picture of the object,but I was afraid of losing sight of the object and refraind from doing so.

The object disappeared into the eastern sky..

As my wife and I continued watching the skies,we never thought we would ever see such a sight again.

To our amazement,at approximately 21:30 hrs. the same or another identical object appeared from the northwest sky, continuing south and then turning towards the east.

It appeared to be travelling at the same rate of speed.

We observed it until it disappeared into the eastern sky.

My wife received a phone call and exited the terrace and answered the call in the bedroom.

I remained on the terrace in awe of what we had just witnessed.

I continued to watch the sky and at approximately 21:50 hrs. for the third time I observed another or same object travelling from the northern sky heading south and turning towards the east.

When it was almost directly in front of where I was standing on the terrace observing this object in the distance,the object made a sudden stop or right turn to the south.

It then proceeded to travel upward into the sky in a steep climb, at a tremendous rate of speed.

I still have to catch my breath,thinking of what I had just witnessed three times in one night,never mind in a lifetime.

This was not imagined or a dream,it was real,and will never be forgotten.

I am retired law enforcement and my wife is active law enforcement.

Undulating ball of fire over Montauk that went high and disappeared, 5 minutes later a 2nd one appeared and did the same thing.

We saw a round ball of fire, the shape and movement reminded me of a jellyfish, undulating in the sky. It went higher and higher and disappeared. About 5 minutes later we saw another one exactly the same.

Came out of restaurant on south Edison in Montauk, ny. My husband went to get our car when I happened to look up in the sky and saw an orange, glowing object traveling in a north-easterly direction.

Four other bystanders noticed it with me and first description everyone made was that it was on fire.
Seemed to be moving extremely fast and then disappeared into the night sky up towards the east.

Never witnessed anything like that before.

Round lights in a formation moving from left to right in a cirlcle like a clockface movement appear to me in Montauk NY

I woke up my head turned to the left looking out a 2nd floor to ceiling window. I awoke as if it was timed very strange my eyes opened i was completly aware of where i was in the house and alone and looking outside.

There was a shape with 6 to 7 lights (round) moving in a couterclockwise motion from left to right, The movement was like like looking at a clock face meaning i could always see the lights moving first in the circle than travelling as one to the right and moving in a circle and than travelling together to the left moving in a circle first before it travelled.d I kept my eyes on it and then it dissolved. The color of the lights was bright white. It wasn't a craft in that you could make out a 3 dimensioanl form it was just there like a presence but the lights never moved out of their shape The closest shape i can think of was like the shape of a sacrum (the body) not quite a an upside down triangle but more rounded. .

After it dissolved i did feel a kind of gravitation to and from in my body but not feeling anykind of abduction or that i was in danger. The yard next door has swimming pool and a large deck around it. When it was light enough outside i looked down on the deck and saw what appeared to be 6 or 7 round circles in almost the same formation of the lights i saw.

I am a Movement therapist did graduate study in Movement analysis movement observation. This is the first time i have experienced this.

Bright red/orange disc seen moving silently over Atlantic Ocean from East to West on dark summer night.

At approximately 11:15 PM my wife was looking South from our vacation cottage in Montauk, out over the ocean, and observed a large orb, about the size of a full harvest moon, colored bright red/orange, moving slowly and steadily from East to West, in complete silence, on a straight unwavering trajectory.

She called me over and I observed it, too. She describes it as looking "firey" although I thought it looked more like a bright disc. There did not appear to be any other structure.

We watched it for about five minutes as it passed out of view.

At about 10 minutes later we observed either the same object, or an identical one, pass again from East to West and out of view.

We called the East Hampton Police Dept. and the U.S. Coast Guard; neither had any similar report.

The next morning we spoke to the motel manager; she said she had seen a similar object at about 8:00 PM that evening, and thought it was a hot-air balloon.

I do not believe that is what it was, as you would have seen bursts of flame, and heard something, and why would a hot-air balloon be floating over the Atlantic Ocean at 11:00 PM?

it was a very clear night, no clouds in the sky. an extremely bright flash occured lighting up everything in sight for 1-2 full seconds. when we looked up we saw what i would say as a bright white hole in the sky. its shape was that of a stingray. larger in the middle and slender at the tips. it slowly faded away over a period of ten seconds

2 fast moving, silent boomerang/triangle shaped lights.

Cloudless night sky. 2 observers saw fast moving triangle/boomerang shaped lights travel in a Northwest direction. The lights were resembled the effect a strong searchlight would make on an overcast night sky, but there were no clouds, no haze and no smog and there was no light beam as there would have been if we had been observing a searchlight. There was no noise. Their speed seemed faster than any low flying conventional aircraft could possibly attain. We were in a sparsely populated point of land that extends into the Atlantic Ocean and there were no known nearby cars or headlights.

We were fishing off the pier at montauk point, and i see a blazing light flash in the sky. Then i see 3 disk shape objects hovering about 20 feet above the ocean. And about 5 minutes later, the plunge into the water.

They were spinning in circles, but tight circles. It seemed there were windows in the craft but i am not positive. When they plunged into the water, there was really no splash, it was like there was a opening, and it just swallowed them up.

Montauk Mystery Lights

Gadzooks!! What are those things!? I'm standind in a field over the beach in Montauk where I had camped for the night. It's approximately 11:00 PM, I'm tending the fire, after just having finished dinner . Now, I'm staring at two, very large, golden, circular orbs at low altitude over the water. Like giant "goofballs" over the ocean. "Heck, I just got into the beer," I thought--can't be that. They were the brightest lights I'd ever seen, yet they didn't really exude much light, they more like retracted it. No glare, there should've been a trail of light five miles long on the water surface. After five minutes, they kind of flickered out, only to reappear in the same spot ten minutes later. I estimate they stayed on for another ten minutes, then went out for good. Couldn't have been giant flares, flares would be fired at a high altitude, then streak down gradually, and give off alot of glare on water. Later, I found that someone had seen the exact same thing in Montauk, only a couple of months before I did. This can be looked up in the archives section at <http://www.((html deleted))> I also found these orbs reported in a UFO magazine as being seen in Phoenix, AZ, and associated with the "Phoenix Lights." The truth is out there somewhere, and I want to believe, because I know what I saw, and I know that it is stranger than fiction...............…
