Golden fire ball, but with a big trailing fan of sparks

This was the night of the Tsuchinshan-ATLAS (also called C/2023 A3 and Comet A3) in the western sky. At about 7:39 PM, the sky was dark and I turned west to walk to my car. In the south west portion of the sky at the horizon but above the tree tops, in the distance an dark yellow/gold object was flying from south to north. There was other planes or helicopters in the air, but the object in question had a huge fan tail of sparks that seemed to be coming form the object as it moved northward at the speed of a passenger jet. The tail lasted for 2 to 3 minutes and then went out as the object continued northward.

I later checked the news to see if there was some mention of it, or some special air show show in Howard County or PG County, but there was none. It sounds silly, but the object and trail reminded me of a small goldfish with a huge tails.

A flashing, rotating circle in the sky. Viewed w/ the naked eye. Video taken using an iPhone 8 recorded a little over 2 minutes

On my patio the night of 3/16/2024, around 9:30 PM. Noticed a rather large circle (compared to surrounding stars) in the sky. It was not moving at first. The circle was white with a second smaller circle nested inside. Both circles were rotating. Shortly after I started filming the circle, it appeared to reduce in size. At this point, it was pulsing and rotating and jumping around the sky but still staying somewhat localized. I videoed it about 2 minutes before it suddenly turned red. The red orb flashed extremely quickly (less than one second), while jumping around in the sky. This red orb did not appear to be rotating, however, it flashed so quickly I could not rule out rotation. Still pictures below were taken from the video, enlarged for better study. The video is not enlarged but rather as I saw it in the sky that night. Per the question below about being contacted by an investigator, I only wish to be contacted if this is an unexplainable object.

2 groups of 25silver lights with 1 above the other seen clearly the bottom group faded away before the upper group faded into bluesky.

Thursday Nov.30th, 2023 11:26 am cst Woodstock, IL. I'm looking North out my front window at an airliner high above me (75degrees up) traveling east in clear blue-sky and then another airliner going west came into view seconds later.

That's when directly across my street facing North/3degrees East... I'll say 40degrees above horizon about 5 feet above the streetlight (it was not on) in my clear sight were 2 groups of silver bright lights/orbs (at least 20 in each group) with one circular group above the other in view for only about 10 seconds max when the lower group faded quickly into blue-sky then the group above faded immediately after into clear blue-sky too. There was no motion or movement just a fadeout. I stared for a few minutes and grabbed my binoculars to scan the sky but nothing there.

I checked the time on my phone, and I decided to draw in pencil what was in my memory and write a description on the back of an envelope.
Each circular group was about the size of my index fingernail held out arm's length.

I waited a week to make a report, but I felt that I should still write this…. I told my 2 neighbors and showed them my drawing.

Blinking lights in the sky on normal route home and 4 hours of missing time

I was living in Warren at the time and visiting a friend in nearby town Thornton, with another friend who lived close by to me in Glencliff. We left to head home around 9:30. I remember when I first got in the car, I spotted a bright orange light in the sky, I became fixated on this light while driving, and kept glancing up at it. I mentioned to my friend who before we left became extremely tired all of a sudden, I kept waking her up to tell her that it seemed like the orange light was traveling alongside of us. As I drove to Lincoln to make a stop at the store I kept looking at it's position to other lights and stars in the sky and it kept changing in relation to other bright lights in the sky, so I was certain that seemed like it was following us. I made a stop at the store and grabbed a couple items before the trip home over rt. 118, a remote scenic mountain back road which is approximately a 40 minute drive from where we were at the store in Lincoln to home, and the time was about 10pm. My friend was in a deep sleep in the passenger seat as I left and proceeded to drive home all while still glancing up at the orange light every chance I could which never left it's position just over my left shoulder. I remember nearing to where I consider to be the halfway point and the light moved to become brighter and more in front of me to the left and then I noticed maybe 3 or 4 bright lights join the orange light. I slowed down an tapped my friend and asking her to wake up because she had to see this! Then in that moment, I stopped the car right in the middle of the road and it lit up in front of us, my entire view was lit up in horizontal row of blinking lights! The sparkling lights hovered closely and directly in front of my vehicle. I took as many pictures as I could and a short video. It was incredible!!

Here's where it gets a little weird (from what I recall)… I pulled into my friends driveway to drop her off, I woke her up to tell her she was home and the first thing she said was "OMG, look at the time! How did it take us so long!? And then my phone rang immediately after (no cell service in that region so my phone had connected to her wifi when we arrived) I answered to my boyfriend at the time yelling at me asking where I was, he told me he had just opened his eyes and started freaking out because he was worried why I wasn't home yet and reached for his phone to call me and at the same time my friends boyfriend came out of the house yelling "where have you been!?" he said he just woke up and felt instantly worried when he opened his eyes and realized the time and that she wasn't there, then immediately heard us pull in the driveway. They also both told us they didn't remember falling asleep or going to bed, it was 3:08am! When I woke up the next day I went back over to her house to show her the video I took and she barely remembered it, she had forgotten it happened until I showed her the video. In the commotion the night before I didn't really understand why the guys were freaking out but then thinking back, I don't remember continuing home after that moment up until the moment I pulled into her driveway. We still have no explanation for why a 40 minute trip took us 4 hours, what it was I saw, or what happened in that time.
There are details leading up to and following this event but it would take days to write it all out as to my theories about what could have occurred, but both my friend and I feel we weren't harmed and I don't feel scared when thinking about it which I do almost everyday.

3 bright white flying objects in a clear blue sky

I was speaking to my husband on the phone, driving south-bound, when I suddenly noticed 3 bright white flying objects high in the north eastern part of a clear blue sky. When I first saw the objects I thought that they were meteors headed towards the earth. On closer observation, 2 of the objects were flying horizontal while a third separate object underneath them seemed to be free falling towards the ground. After a few seconds, I quickly ended the call and I took a few photos of the objects on my Android.

The objects fell out of my view behind the tree line located to the east of the road. I believe the objects were far from me due to the lack of definition.

Enormous, long, low flying ship flying Westbound over Woodstock, Vermont

My son and I were in our backyard last night on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at 9:20pm stargazing. I saw what looked like a giant military, C5 transport plane coming directly overhead, from East to West. The plane was lit up, so we could see it easily, but we also noticed that there was more to it, behind the plane. I had my binoculars and I could see it was very long. Well behind the plane there was another plane partially lit up. It was about the same size as the monster transport plane in the front. As it went overhead, and started to pass toward the west, we could see that they were connected by a large, long middle, as if it were one, large long ship like in the beginning of Star Wars movie. It was actually quite quiet considering how close it was, and how large it was, but it did sound like a plane, but far, far away. The object, or ship just continued westward. It didn't do anything crazy or anything, so I suspect it was a man-made object, but I've neve! r seen anything like it.

30-50 star-sized lights moved independently in a single-file line straight across the sky directly above us at 4 am.

While camping on top of overlook mountain, (night was mostly clear with some scarce, thin clouds) my girlfriend and I both witnessed a precession of around 30-50 lights, about the size and brightness of a star, moving single file in a straight line across the sky. An absolute PIN straight line. The lights were moving independently of one another (didn’t seem to be fixed to something) and were in two groupings (lines) of about 20-25 each. No noise accompanied them, they all moved together faster than an aircraft but not quite as fast as a meteor. Seemed to all be going the exact same speed. Our eyes followed them until they disappeared behind scarce cloud cover at the opposite horizon. Not sure on direction.

I thought it was the moon rising across Lake Christopher, but it was so late. It is usually high in the sky when I go to bed and there was a brilliant beam reflected on the water. Then there was a shooting star near it. I then saw what looked like a glowing white gold curve sword rise up. Amazing site.

A dark black cloud passed in front of it, but the beam on the lake was still reflected. Once the clouds passed, the sword shaped object sank down behind the mountains and everything was black. Then there was another brighter shooting star and blackness.

No moon visible that nite, or a.m. I checked moon rising charts and it wasn't at the time of what I witnessed. The nite sky had many stars that nite. V

Bright flashing light through the trees. Timing it has shown it goes off every 39-41 seconds. Airplanes also heard above

Standing in the driveway with my girlfriend talking and smoking a cigarette when we look up through the tree line and see a bright flash of light. Just thinking it was lightning we ignored it, until I saw it 3 more times.

We stayed outside for another hour until we went to get her mom. When we told her about it and she saw it she tried to pass it off as lightning but there are no clouds in the sky.

She then told us that she saw the light when she was dropping s friend off 2 hours earlier. The light is in the same spot not moving just continuesly flashing consistently at 39-41 seconds per flash.

We also noticed that there was an abnormal number of planes out. We started counting and counted 6 planes in 5 minutes all in the direction of the object and one flying low directly overhead.

I was outside in my garage and i heard a plane kindve low. I figured maybe its a plane that going to the small airport near me and is about to land. The noise was too loud for it to be a small plane, and i figured if it is a commercial plane it is a little far away from the main airport for it to be this low.

So, I stepped out of the garage out of curiosity, and saw a plane that was a triangular shape. It had lights on the bottom of the plane and i figured that was weird. I had never seen a plane so lit up at the bottom, let alone triangular. I saw it for about a good 15 second, then it just disappeared. That's the thing about it too, I'm not a plane expert, but if the plane was that low. I figure its getting close to landing but the speed was pretty fast.

My husband and I saw a round, orange object travel in a straight southerly direction then it got smaller and disappeared,

I am a teacher of 14 years and my husband is a police officer of 21 years.

On July 31, 2015 at approximately 9:00 p.m. (21:00), I looked out of my living room window and noticed a round orange light. It wasn’t perfectly round and had a little nub coming off the left side.

The object was travelling in a straight direction heading south.

I tried to get a better look, but it was difficult to see it because my backyard trees were in the way. I was sidetracked briefly by one of my children, then mentioned the object to my husband who went out on the deck to look at it.

I then grabbed some binoculars to get a closer look. The object did not blink, but had a steady orange color. When I had joined my husband, the object looked smaller.

A typical passenger jet airliner happened to be passing by in view at the same time so I could clearly tell the object was not an airplane.

The airplane was travelling in an east, southeasterly direction. The object was farther up in the sky than the airplane. The object then passed by the moon and looked smaller. It then suddenly disappeared.

I would also like to mention this was a night we had a blue moon.

Low flying red-orange lights.

The night was crystal clear with not a cloud in the sky. It was the night before a full moon, so the reflected light off the moon illuminated the yard, etc., giving it a twilight feel.

At approximately 9:15 PM, I observed two large, red-orange sparkling lights, very slowly approaching our home from above the tree line. (We have woods behind our home, but without the leaves on them it is possible to see for quite a distance into them.)

My husband and I immediately went outside into our backyard. We observed a third red-orange light approaching behind the first two. They were large, completely silent, and moving very slowly. No visible structures were visible, just light.

Within a few minutes, a fourth red-orange light approached following in the same path as the first three.

They continued to very slowly progress over the tree line and off into the distance.

Also, our dog, still inside, barked relentlessly at the lights.

Fireballs my A$$

I have seen this star shaped object in the sky at several different times but thought it was the space station since it never moved. I would take midnight cigarette breaks from playing Axis and Allies so it did not move for a good 8 minutes.

Well, tonight by God it moved and fireballs are not shaped like stars.

Other people in the neighborhood have seen it move fast.

We observed it moving slowly.

I took a pic but it is poor.

Glowing orbs mistaken for falling stars

I was taking my dog out for the evening. As I was going out toward the front yard I noticed what looked like a falling star shoot across my neighbors skyline. The flight path of the object went from my neighbors house across the street over my house.

Shortly after sighting the first "falling star" I noticed another one right behind it and on the same flight path. I began to focus more now on the "falling stars" and realized these were not falling stars but rather glowing orbs that were in full motion.

I was now fixated on the orbs trying to identify what exactly I was observing. Four more additional orbs followed along the same flight path (similar to a funeral precession) behind the initial two. The objects were moving at steady cruising speed.

The objects could be best described as soft fireballs with a diffused type glow. The orbs were completely silent (no engine noise) and all uniform in shape and size. There was typical source of identification (i.e.red/green running lights that are common on commercial aircraft).

I can't say for sure that this was an E.T sighting. However, I can say with certainty is that the objects weren't commercial air craft nor do I believe this was a natural phenomenon (I.e. meteor or falling star) due to the fact that the objects were all on the same exact flight path.

Woodstock Georgia 8:45pm 11/4/2012 several balls of fire in sky

This was witnessed in Downtown Woodstock. There were at least nine, no more than 12 balls of fire in the sky. They didn't appear to be moving. They didn't seem to be any type of aircraft that was flying; they literally looked like balls of fire, like a constellation. When I got to my car they were gone. I tried to take pictures with my cell phone, but was unable to because it was dark and the phone couldn't focus.

Two fireballs flying over New York

Me and my friend and my relative were walking back from a restaurant to my house and saw two fireballs in the air moving very fast and they just disappeared out of no where and we were like what was that and we were shocked and after 2 minutes of standing there wondering where it went it came back but only 1 came back it seemed like the two fireballs joined together it looked bigger. The thing was a weird color it looked yellow or orange or red.

orange fireball over woodstock vermont following route 4 then turning on to route 12

Was driving eastbound on route four throught the village of woodstock. I saw a light in the sky that was to high to be atop of any village structures...as I got down town I realized it was a fire like light. I pulled over and shut off my car. the object made no discernable noise and I though it might have been a hot air balloon... but in a snow storm in January???? It also moved against the wind slowly then turned at about 90 degrees... but seemed to follow route twelve out of the village and eventually out of vision... I've never seen the like... it appeared to be a fire orange in colour uniform in shape not wavering in the wind like a candles flame.

It stayed the same size relative to distance from me. meaning it neither grew bigger or smaller or changed shape.. was silent too...

Bright lights in a formation in the sky, and I believe I was abducted.

So I was sitting in my backyard, playing with my St. Bernard, when I looked in the distance and I saw what appeared to be a formation of bright stars. I thought they were stars, but I felt a little uneasy because I had never noticed them before. I resumed brushing my dog when all the sudden my dog sat down and wouldn't get back up. I commanded him to get up numerous times, for he is a former police dog, but he would not get up. It was very unusual. I looked up at the sky and I saw nine, bright, bright greenish, purplish lights hovering over the property I own in kind of in a formation like this

Everything from then on is really hard to remember. I faintly remember lying in the corner of a room, metal floor and metal walls, and I could hear conversation...for all I know I could have fallen asleep, but I really do think I was abducted. Nobody believes me…

I'm having a really difficult time coping with what happened, and it doesn't help when everybody you know thinks you are crazy.

Anyways, I remember waking up this morning having a massive migraine, and walking over to the mirror and seeing this pattern of dots, that almost looked like burns, but in the pattern I saw the U.F.O. in last night. I was truly shocked, and scared. I still am. I need somebody to believe me...

My friend and i were just leaving football practice when out of the corner of my eye i saw what appeared to be three orange floating balls they were in a straight line then shifted to a backwards triangle then back they then stopped and almost instantaniously dissapered the change of fleet shapes were slow.

Driving home from my job I witnessed a very bright green fireball in the northwestern sky that lasted about five seconds.

I have seen fireballs before when living in Wisconsin but never witnessed a fireball that was as intense in color as the one I saw in Woodstock.

I saw several triangle-shaped objects flying/hovering between Woodstock and Crystal Lake. All but one moved very slowing or seemed to be hovering. They were different colors (almost like Christmas trees in the sky). One of them was flying pretty low to the ground and I chased for about 3 miles but then lost it.

A bright white stationary light resembling a star overhead slowly faded to a pinpoint and then moved slowly south out of sight.

A friend and I were sitting on my deck tonight enjoying an incredibly clear star-studded sky. My friend remarked how clear the Big Dipper was. A few minutes later a bright white light almost directly overhead caught my eye. It may have flashed just as it grabbed my attention. Initially it resembled a star or bright planet. It was stationary at first and faded to a pinpoint of light, after which it began to move south at about the speed of a commercial airliner. I watched it until my house blocked the view.

We are in the Shenandoah Valley which is the path of flights out of Dulles and National Airport in Washington DC. Every evening there are dozens of commercial aircraft that fly over my house. I can hear a jet right now.

The light that I saw did not come from the eastern sky over the mountains. It just appeared, faded and flew south.

I would say that the initial light was similar to that of a helicopter spotlight. This light appeared to be at least 30,000 feet in the sky, not low like a helicopter. There was no sound except the sound of the commercial airliners coming across the mountains.

The light did not resemble a meteor at all. The meteors we see cross the sky from east to west generally and are a split second flash. This light had no characteristics of a meteor other than being a white light. I’ve never seen anything like what I saw tonight in all my 60 years.

An oval-shaped craft with green lights was observed on the evening of April 21st near Woodstock, VA.

The craft was observed just after dark on an April (21st) Saturday night. There were clear skies, and I was driving south on I-81 near Woodstock, Virginia when the anomaly in question passed overhead, also headed southwest. It was roughly parallel to the ground and just to the left of the interstate, with multiple green lights contained in an oval shape with trailing sparks. It was visible for maybe 2-3 seconds before it simply disappeared/vanished.

It was a virtual duplicate of a sighting I had several years ago further down I-81 near the Rockbridge-Botetourt County line: same time, direction and description, albeit 80-100 miles further north – an experience I called in to the Rockbridge County Sheriff’s Department at the time. The difference? I had a witness riding next to me, my wife was dozing in the front passenger seat when I told her to look up. The thing was visible long enough for her to awaken, look up, and see it to. Other traffic on the highway at the time had to have viewed it as well, but I found nothing in news reports the following day. I couldn’t judge altitude, size or speed, but if the spark tail was from atmospherical re-entry it was quite large and flying at a speed well above the posted (65 MPH) limit.

Odd craft in Georgia

My friend and I were out by a local pond talking when we saw an odd light in the sky. At first I thought it was an aircraft, but it began to change speed and altitude too rapidly for conventional aircraft. My friend started get scared, but I told him it had to be an airplane. Soon it was obvious that the "ship" was actually 2 ships when they split off about 1000 feet above us. When it started to descend we ran as fast as we could go back to the road. We could see the lights for about 2 more minutes, and then they shot strait up and disappeared. As the crafts disappeared it was obvious there were some military sized jets in teh area, but we could not tell if they were tracking the craft.

Large Craft Low Altitude No Sound

I have already reported this to a MUFON field investigator and was interviewed at the location of the sighting. I think of this constantly.

I was having dinner at a Restaurant located in Woodstock, Georgia on 92 Highway with my wife and stepson. After dinner we walked out to my vehicle when my stepson (age 9 at the time) pointed skyward directly above us and asked me what that "thing" was. I looked up, as did my wife, and saw a large craft directly above us flying at a low altitude. It was moving east along Highway 92. It was not making a sound and was in a perfect black triangle with orb type lights on each angle of the triangle. It was moving very slow. It was heavy overcast that evening and it moved in and out of the clouds. We watched it until it left view. I had no idea what it was, my reaction was one of puzzlement and did not feel in fear of it. I initially thought it was a government craft since a major AFB was nearby.

When we got home, my wife looked up information about it on the internet and it was the same craft that has been sighted in Belgium and Phoenix, AZ. After the interview with MUFON, I was given information that what I had seen was not a government craft. After explaining it's size in relation to my hand at arm's length, I was told it was a mile long. I was also told that someone else reported the same thing and the other person was across 92 HWY in a parking lot.

have not experienced any sort of trauma as a result of this experience. The MUFON investigator said it was still possible.

saucer seen with many witnesses

i seriously saw a ufo or something. i was on my way home and there was something sitting in the air not moving about 15 minutes from my house. it had a green and red light on each side and two huge spotlights in the middle. it didn`t move it just sat in one place and it wasn`t really high up. there were people pulling off to the side of the road to stop and look, i just kept going. it looked like a saucer shape it was hard to make out. i have no clue what the hell it was. and about 10 minutes later i saw two helicopters headed back towards where i was at. i don`t know what it was but it wasn`t a plane or helicopter.

Great design for travel and being seen clearly.

Witnessed an object flying woth No Noise. The craft was a combination of a barrel and teardrop shape. Several colors shining very bright. The craft climbed at a very slow rate. Slower than any plane with out stalling in flight. This craft had very distintive colors red, blue, white, yellow or amber. The reason I noticed it was the lights where shining so bright and the absences of sound. I could hear birds calling and also see other commercial aircraft in the same area just at much higher elevation. At first the craft was at tree top elevation. I was talking on the phone at the time of the sighting and noticed a failure in the cordless phone to a cellular connection. This craft elevated at a very gradual rate at the same angle of acent about 75 degrees. This craft was not the average. I have lived on several Military Bases around the World and this was byfar the best design I have seen to date. This would include any Stelth 111 or even the SR-71. The ability to see this craft for at least a half an hour climbing at a steady rate up wards and still be able to see the changing colors of the lights in full day light at a distance of some 50,000 feet is incredible. I gage my distances by the tree top elevation when I first saw it to the elevation I saw the Commercial Aircraft to the elevation of the High Cerrious Clouds it went up into.

It just floated in the distant sky. I watched for a minute and had to grab something inside where i went to grab someone else. I came back and it was gone.

I was alone, walking through the house, when a huge sonic boom shook the house and rattled the windows so hard I thot they would shatter. It only lasted seconds. It scared me so badly that I called a friend to comfort me.

When I realized the world hadn't ended, I was okay, but very puzzled as to what had happened. The next day around 2:30 I went outside to mow the lawn. (and prove to myself I wasn,t scared to go out side.) I started at the left front of house, going towards the woods. When I came close to the woods ,I noticed a burnt place in the yard. I turned off the mower to investigate more closely.

I was about 12 to 15 inches in diameter, perfectly round, not out of line anywhere and about 10 to 15 feet wide and all the grass in the middle was squished down flat, like a heavy wieght had been on it. My dog went crazy when he came over to see what I was looking at. Jumping back and forth at it and yipping high, shrill ,barks over and over. So I tied him on the other side of the house.

The burnt grass was still in form. I thot someone was playing a joke on me. So I questioned my nieghbor on the hill across the road, to see if she had heard or seen anything. She said no. But, you could see the burnt circle perfectly from her porch. And it was perfect. I showed the circle to my brother, my cousin and acouple of friends, and my husband at the time. My husband and brother both knew of the incident the day before because I told them all about it at supper the night before, so we were all trying to put two and two together.

As summer progressed the burnt area turned brown. Then these mushrooms, and only mushrooms started growing in the circle. They grew fast,and extremly large, until they just burst open. Then they disentigrated and toward the end of summer the grass started growing back. It grew darker, thicker, faster, and taller than the rest of the grass in the yard. That winter it snowed, and that circle of grass still grew tall through the snow. You could see that circle for a few years after a! lso, but has finally faded away.

I looked up in the sky and saw a green luminous cigar shaped craft. Right when I saw it it took off . A few seconds latr it came back and lit up the entire area.

My cousin Chris and I are each 14 years of age. Lastnight we dissided to sleep outside. The clouds were out so we really couldnt see the stars . We were talking about something and I saw a large and bright haze in the corner of my eye. I looked up and saw a bright greenish object in the sky. I immediatly yelled to my cousin to look up in the sky. He then saw it and freeked out. He got up and started to run towards the house. I was amazed and still was looking at it. It then shot away and left a green-yellow glow behind. After i saw it leave i got up and saw it reapper. Their is a barn close to us and the house and it lit up. Their were no cars around and this is in a pretty secluded area. My Cous then screamed. He said the light was directly on top of him but i was too busy getting my shoes on. As I was running towards the house all of a sudden it became pitch black and nothing was in the sky. We remember it being pretty light ouside we could see each other fi! ne and didnt think anything of it. About 25 minutes before it happened we were setting up a tarp to set our sleeping bags on. I brought a super high powered flashlight that is used for my fathers boat. My cousin was flashing it in the sky pointing out different stars that we could see through the clouds. This might have attracted them who knows. Throught the whole thing I was amazed at it and perfectly calm. Next week we are going to sleep out again w/ cameras and if any thing happens i will write back.

Bright, fast low flying object crossed field of view at close range during drive at night

This occurred a few years back, I'm not sure of the date but 1997 is my best guess given teh circumstances. My sister and I were driving up a hill by a field with a line of tall trees on either side of the road in a very rural town. There are no street lights, so it gets very dark and clear. Out of nowhere a bright yellow-white spherical object shot across our field of view, right in front of us, covering the arc of sky we could see between the trees flanking the road (about 20 degrees of sky) this occurred extremely fast (a few seconds at most) but long enough to tell that it was a discrete spherical glowing object traveling horizontally. It appeared similar in size to the moon, but a little brighter (not blinding). There was no trailing tail or "halo" around the object...I've grown up in this town and seen plenty of fireball meteors (good viewing, no city lights) and this was nothing like them, I knew it the instant I saw it. Given its speed and size, I guess it was going several hundred miles per hour no more than a hundred feet over the trees. I was really impressed by how fast it moved.. that I especially remember. And thinking it simply couldn't be some very large, distant object...it would have to be moving insanely fast to have the same effect, then. My sister both were shocked, and immediately agreed that we had no idea what could possibly look or behave like what we had just saw.

I am a research scientist and have a background that includes astronomy and physics. My sister is a very bright, level headed student. This event was completely outside her conceptual experience and I was just as shocked as she was.

I should correct you on one point, I'm not a PhD, but a graduate student in ((subject deleted)). However I did take a large number of undergraduate classes in astronomy and physics. As far as further information, I talked with my sister and she didn't have anything to add, and didn't want to submit a report. We're still not sure of the date. I know that I was picking her up from a school dance, and that I was no longer in high school myself. That limits it to either 1997 or 1998.

Plus it was not winter (or summer). So it was probably fall or spring. I can tell you precisely where the event occurred, if that helps at all. It was traveling northwest, and the object crossed our path moving east/northeast. Summary: Young couple witness large glowing craft streak across the night sky, as if it were "exiting" the Earth. Craft was followed by a trail of pearlescent light, objected started in NE hor.streaked to about 1/2 way across hor. Then apparently flew straight out of the earth! Without a trace. It took a total of three quick "oh my gods!" and it was over. Definitely not a comet!

On October 15, 1995, my boyfriend and myself were on our way to meet some of our friends. It was roughly around 10:00-10:15p.m. We realized that we were a bit early to meet them, so we decided to just drive around for a while. The radio in the car was on, but very quietly.

We drove around for about 10 minutes, or so, and then decided to start heading to meet our friends. We were traveling north on Senexet Road in Woodstock, CT. I was the passenger, my boyfriend was the driver.

My eyes were suddenly drawn to a small glowing light, seemingly the size of a street lamp, but much brighter. Almost as quickly as I noticed it, it started heading in a southern direction (towards us). Its speed was phenomenal, never in all my years (26 to be exact) have I ever seen anything in the sky (day or night) travel at such an incredible speed. The closest that this ball of light came to our location was within about 1/2 mile. Upon reaching that point the object appeared much larger than I had originally thought, it was then that I realized that this was not a plane, helicopter, meteor or comet. All of which I have witnessed before in the night sky. If one were to get close enough to be able to measure the size of the object my guess would be that they find it to be probably close to a 1/4 of a mile long and about half as wide.

Once it reached the closest point that it had come to us, it came to an abrupt stop. Then, in less than a second, it turned, as if effortlessly, 90 degrees toward the west and continued at the previous rate of speed until about half way across the horizon. It then again stopped abruptly and turned another 90 degrees, this time to the north and as quiclky as if it had never stopped it took off, again this time it appeared as if it left the earth completely! Once the object made its first turn towards the west we noticed that it had an incredibly long, pearlescent colored trail of light traveling behind it. This was perhaps the most striking thing that I remember about the object. It was the most beautiful yet strangest light we have ever witnessed. The trail of light, judging by the distance and size from our location appeared to be atleast 15 to 20 miles long! And as bright as the daylight! We didn't tell that many people what we had seen, for obvious reasons.

When I finally contacted a U.F.O. investigative firm, they said there was a bright meteor in that area around that time of the month. I told the guy he was nuts, that I know a meteor when I see one. I said to him,"besides, meteors fall down, not up! And they don't travel at speed in excess of thousands of miles per hour!" He asked how I knew how fast it was going? I told him that in order for that object to travel from one end of the horizon to the middle of the horizon and then out of the atmosphere in less than 3 "oh, my gods!" it had to be traveling faster than anything humans have thus far invented. For a plane to travel the distance that this object traveled in less than 5 seconds, it would take about 20 to 25 minutes! When the object made its first turn and we saw the trail of light for the first time, I had the most incredible tingling sensation come over my body and my eyes started to water and my muscles all felt tense, my boyfriend experienced similar sensations. We are both in our mid-twenties have two children, good jobs and absolutely no reason to make anything like this up. Feel free to post this event, I am no longer worried that people will think I'm crazy. After all, maybe I am crazy, but I'm definitely not STUPID! I know what I saw was without a doubt a U.F.O.

Dark circular low flying object near Woodstock Ga

Driving North on I-575, saw a circular object moving eastbound. The object appeared just over the tree line, moved in a straight line over the interstate and then disappeared over the trees on the Eastern side of the interstate. Speed of object unknown, but as it was low flying, the object seemed to have moved faster than an airplane would have. It was moving slowly enough that I could tell it had a circular outline as the outline appeared darker than the night sky. Object made no noise as it moved. Object also had three lights in an inverted triangular pattern on it.

Aircraft carrier size, low flying, slow moving mechanical object, engine like thrumming sound, small "running" lights.

Unidentified Flying Object June, 1979 Woodstock, VT Sighting shared by 6 + individuals.

Description: Foggy afternoon, 3 or 4pm. Heard shouting from outside dorm at Woodstock Country School, went outside to see what was up. Everyone pointing up and shouting.

Through the low-lying fog (school was located in a shallow valley) I saw what appeared to be a huge overhead mechanical slow flying object 300-500 ft (?) over head making a deep “thrumming” sound with many small lights. Passing overhead from North to South.

Because of fog, it was hard to determine edges, the above description could only be seen from directly over head. Hard to determine length of time of object passing above, but seems to have been several minutes given the time from hearing shouting, going down 3 floors and witnessing the above from middle of open field.

It sounded like a freighter going by at close range and a similar speed. Felt response was like being in a row boat as the overhanging deck of an aircraft carrier went over me.
