Single white light that split into 3 separate lights at times

Riding through forkland alabama at approx 8 pm, I noticed a bright white light high up in the sky. As I kept watching it, it would periodically divide into 3 green lights that were separate, but still moved in conjunction with each other. It made no noises that I could tell. My grandfather also saw this when I did.
