I saw 1 very white/bright sphere slowly moving from the NW to SE making no sounds.

While taking my dog out to potty on the morning of 01/31/2013 around 5:30 I looked up at the sky to observe the stars and moon. It was very cool, clear, with highly visible stars and a ¾ moon in the W/SW sky. As I turned to do a 360 view I saw a very bright very white sphere off to the northwest moving very slowly toward the southeast. I’ve seen single engine prop planes move faster than this object. The object appeared to be 2-3 times the size of the largest/brightest star in the sky. It appeared to not be as high as the stars but more the height that an airliner may fly (35,000-40,000 ft). There were absolutely no sounds at all. The shape or color never changed. I kept expecting a sound as it past over me and finally left my view. The visual time was somewhere between 3-5+- minutes (I had no watch with me). I remained outside for another 5+-minutes to see if I heard a sound like jet engines, but never heard any sounds. This was my very 1st sighting of som! ething I could not explain. I am 62 years old and have never witnessed anything like this.

I don’t know if this has anything to do with the sighting but I found it very odd. The day before, we were expecting some possibly sever storms so I had my weather radio on. When the weather threat was over I turned the weather radio off and moved it away from my bedside. It was still in my bedroom. When my dog woke me up to go out, just before the sighting, I heard a noise in the bedroom that I thought was our old ceiling fan. It turned out to be that the weather radio was on and off station. I turned it off and went out with the dog. Now, I find it strange that the radio was on because had it been on when we went to bed we would most certainly have heard it and turned it off.
