I noticed in the sky above me, a stationary orange ball that seemed to be glowing with a slight flicker.

On August 8th, approximately 9:30 pm, I was driving home. I was only about a mile from my house in Eldridge, MO.

I noticed in the sky above me, an orange ball that seemed to be glowing with a slight flicker.

It was stationary and did not seem to be moving other than an occasional flicker. I pretty much came to a complete stop on the road to watch it. I watched it for about 10 seconds, then it began to move higher and as it did so, it quickly decreased in size and disappeared.

I have never seen anything like this before. Very unusual and definitely ORANGE! It seemed to be close like when you see a small plane flying above.

It only took about 3 seconds for it to disappear into the sky. You could tell it was traveling because it quickly but gradually decreased in size as it moved away.

Five orange lights, like stars in the cloudy sky, hovered motionless over a small city in Iowa.

On the evening of December 7th, 2012, I was traveling south on New Highway 61; the city in question was located to my right. I was not driving, so I was at liberty to observe the sky without distraction. The sky was cloudy, and above the lights of the city, the clouds appeared grey and luminescent.

Above the city, I saw five lights, each a warm golden-orange color. They looked like stars to me, both in height and magnitude; if the sky had been clear, I would have believed that they actually were stars, and I probably would’ve taken no notice. The lights were initially stationary in the sky. As my vehicle approached and drove parallel to them, they hovered seemingly motionlessly.

In relation to one another, they were positioned thusly: to the north, three lights were positioned in an obtuse triangle pattern, with the northernmost light acting as the obtuse vertex. The other two lights were positioned farther to the south, with one higher in the sky and the other lower in the sky than the triangularly positioned lights.

I watched them for as long as I could as my vehicle moved farther south, away from the sky lights and the city of Eldridge. At this point, I believe that I saw the southernmost lights move. The lower light appeared to ascend and approach the upper light. The trees were obscuring my vision at this point, so I am less confident in this part of my account than the previous paragraphs.

I believe that these lights were too high in the sky to have originated from any buildings in Eldridge, which is a relatively small town with no highrise buildings. Also, I do not know of any terrestrial aircraft that have the ability to remain so still.

My mom briefly saw these lights, too, but she did not observe them for as long as I did.

Bright orange/yellow with red trim circular fast moving quiet light.

Coming fast from the south, we saw a bright round orange/yellowish light with an outer red light all the way around it. There weren't any blinking lights like a plane.

It was moving very fast and made no sounds which was odd because it appeared somewhat close to us or at least it seemed like it in the night sky.

It continued moving straight north and then jUSt seemed to disappear.

Bright orange object seen flying E/SE out of atmosphere.

Bright orange circular or diamond shaped light see flying W/NW then changing direction to E/SE with no audible sound or visible trail emitted. Object flight path did not follow curvature of the earth. Eventually flew E/SE out of atmosphere.

I was traveling east on hwy 78 and i looked up at the clouds because they were moving fast when all at once i saw a bright white diamond shape object in the opening of the clouds it was fast it did not go parellel to the earth it was going strait up and in just seconds it was gone it left no fuel trail behind and i know at that speed a jet engine leaves a stream this object had none

Small triangle shaped lights moving through sky.

Saw three small white lights in shape of triangle. 2 or 3 small red lights were in the middle of the triangle, or on its edges. Since it was night, it just looked like lights in the shape of a triangle. It stayed above a gas station, not moving. It looked like it was a small "craft". Only 15 feet long maybe. It was about 50 yards high in the air. After about 30 seconds of just floating above the gas station it started moving North-Northwest. It wasn't going very fast, maybe 30 mph. It then went out of sight above the tops of houses. No sound like a helicopter, but floated and moved slowly so it couldn't have been a plane.

I saw a bright circular metal object in the sky which seemed to hover.

I was driving towards Davenport Ia, and talking to my mother on the phone and saw a bright circular metal object in the sky, which seemed to hover. In the time it took me to tell my mom that I thought I was seeing a UFO, it was gone.

large slow moving ball of fire

On the morning of feb 1st 2003 at approximately 05:45hrs, i stepped outside of the building i was working in, to smoke a cigarette. It was still dark outside. I saw a large tumbling ball of fire slowly pass overhead, travelling a northeasterly direction. Though I could not determine its trajectory, I had the feeling that it was falling and would probably hit the earth no more than 20 to 40 miles from where i was standing. I measured the fireball by holding my arms straight out as if i were cradling the object in my open hands. My hands were approximatly 18 inches apart. As it passed overhead it never made a sound. I ran into the building to alert a co-worker who took a few minutes gathering her things. By the time we exited the building, day had broke, the fireball was gone and there was no trace of it, no trail of smoke, nothing. I know of two other people who witnessed this same event. What I remember most about the event was 1). The fireball appeared to b! e very large, 2). The fireball drifted across the sky very slowly, 3). The fireball was completely silent and 4). The fireball fell from the sky at the same time that the space shuttle columbia was reentering earths atmosphere. Freinds of mine suggested that perhaps i had seen peices of the space shuttle however the fireball I saw was bigger than a space shuttle. It wasnt until Columbia was somewhere over Nevada that it began to disintegrate and moments before it exploded into unrecognizable debris, columbia still maintained the outlineof a "plane" with a nose and fuseladge etc. what I saw was competely engulfed in flames and did not resemble a "plane" at all. Whatever it was was tumbling out of control with no appreciable form that i could discern
