Summary: Witnessed a stationary, rectangular object emitting jet-like flames near the tree line.

In the early morning, around 3:00 or 3:30 a.m., we were driving west, with my girlfriend driving and me in the passenger seat. I was distracted by my phone when I heard her gasp and start to say something. I looked up, expecting an animal in the road, but instead saw a rectangular-shaped object hovering just above the tree line.

The object appeared flat, like a 2D shape with square sections that looked like windows, divided by thin metal-like frames. The flames weren’t coming from around the windows, but from just in front of them. These flames looked like long jets, similar to a fighter jet's afterburners but larger and more vivid. They pulsed in an orange-red color, creating a mesmerizing, almost relaxing effect.
We watched the object for about 5 to 10 seconds before the road curved, and we lost sight of it behind the trees. The object appeared close, but I couldn’t tell for sure. If it was just above the tree line as I suspect, that would place it around 800-1,000 yards in front of us, with an estimated size of 50 to 80 yards wide and 30 to 50 yards high. If it were farther away than I initially thought, then its dimensions would have been much larger. For some reason, it was difficult to judge the exact distance.

Throughout the sighting, there was no heat or noise that we could perceive inside the car, even with the windows cracked. The flames were not overly bright for the middle of the night, which is why I described them as possibly being some kind of gas only partially igniting or burning at a lower temperature. There was some distortion when looking through the flames, similar to looking through a light gas or faint flame.

It wasn’t a frightening experience, more one of amazement. We didn’t stop the car or turn around—though I didn’t feel threatened, I also didn’t know what it was, and I didn’t want to take chances. We both saw the same thing, almost exactly, with only minor differences.

I’ve never been the type to believe in things like ghosts or Bigfoot. I'm an agnostic and tend to think analytically. I like knowing how things work and don’t accept anything without an explanation or proof. Prior to this, I thought sightings like this were made up for attention or were quick glimpses mistaken for something else. But this was in my face, clear and unmistakable, for several seconds. I know what I saw.

Since then, I’ve searched online countless times and even used AI to search for similar reports. I’ve gone through a MUFON dataset with AI assistance, but I’ve never found a sighting that matches what I saw. It’s been frustrating not to find any explanations or similar reports. I'm a ex criminal investigator and was not working in le at the time.

A black circle in the night sky shoots beam of light out of its side.

I was on my back patio letting the dog out around 22:00 on July 10th, 2020. Very few clouds if any in the sky. The stars were very brilliant. I was looking up because I heard there was the possibility of seeing a comet in the sky this month. A flash caught my eye and I saw the twinkle of a star. It turns out something blocked the light from the star. The was a black circle in the sky. Darker than the sky itself. It was moving slowly northward. I watched it for a couple of minutes. I noticed a bright stream of light come from the west side of the object. The light came out for only a second and it only happened a few times. Maybe 4 or 5 times . It finally moved far enough away where I could no longer see it.

Star like object traveling at super extreme speed covering most of the night sky, with a 2 second spotlight burst halfway in flight .

Roughly about 8:30 pm CST, myself and my daughter were outside. As I looked to the north, northwest and noticed the big dipper, I told my daughter about seeing the big dipper in that direction.

At that time, I observed a steady light, which appeared to be a star. The star was stationary. While observing the Big Dipper, this particular star started moving. The star like object had no flashing lights and stayed luminescent the entire time myself and my daughter were observing it.

As i continued to watch, it seemed to move faster. The lit object was traveling in an east, southeast direction. There was no noise associated with this object. Myself and my daughter continued watching this object in flight. In my opinion, and i have seen thousands of planes at night and the speed in which they move....this object traveled at a speed unknown to my eyes and probably 8 to 10 times faster than anything we have in our current military.

I could not guess the altitude in which the object was traveling. But, it did appear at what some would call a possible normal cruising altitude for a commercial airliner. As the object traveled about halfway across the sky, all of a sudden it emitted the brightest, most concentrated light i have ever seen in the sky, brighter than any full moon. The light started as a concentrated beam, then it was as if it gazed directly down on my daughter and myself, then aimed away and off in roughly about 2 seconds. The object then traveled on in an easterly, southeast direction.

It crossed the majority of the sky that I can see from my house in roughly a 15 second time frame. The angle of travel I would guess, would be about 160 degrees to 170 degrees. Almost a straight line from the North-Northwest, to the South-Southwest. And I live next to a wide open field and can see the majority of the night sky.

Bright light over Prattville, AL, flashing and moving over tree line

We saw a bright light in sky right above the tree line around 5:08 AM. It began moving right to left and moving upward at a slow speed. It hovered there for a a few minutes moving right, left, up, and down flashing the bright light.

As the sun was coming up the light moved further up in the sky and had almost fully disapeared by 6:00 am.
