Red blinking light then short beam scanning surroundings.

I was sitting outside in front of my apartment complex, and it was very cloudy with low and high thick clouds.

The clouds broke to where I could see in between the high and low ones, and I saw a red light flash one time.

Then, an object of a shape I couldn't make out, shined a beam of light from what looked like the front of the shape, scanned in front of it or on the side (couldn't make out shape of craft) as if to see if anything was in front of it. The beam was a short spotlight, it didn't spread between the clouds, only right in front.

Then the craft slowly went through the clouds, it wasn't fast at all. Like it was gliding almost.

We thought they were hot air balloons at first, but then we realized there were no landing spots for any. And why would they be flying at night, even if there were. They hovered over our house and surrounding homes, for a good 2-3minutes. Then all of a suddened, 3 went straight and the other 2 veered off to the left and shot off. We had never seen anything like it.

Ball of Light mirrors large plane over Moss Bluff

I was on my back porch having a cigarette when I noticed a large sounding jet approaching from the west flying in a ENE direction. When I looked at it directly I noticed that there was a light that seemed to be "leading" it off of what would be the pilot's window. As the two approached, I could make out the red lights underneath the wings of what could have easily been a C-130 (there is a repair facility nearby). These were the only lights I could see on the plane.

If one were to stretch their arm out and hold their index finger and thumb about an inch apart, this is how large the plane appeared. As the two proceeded in a ENE direction to a point to where they directly north of me, the ball of light flew off at an incredible speed, out of Earth's atmosphere. At that time the plane seemed to turn slightly south and proceeded in a ESE direction.

F-16s chase Disc object over Calcasieu River between Lake Charles and Moss Bluff

Myself and seven others were sitting on back porch when one of us noticed a disc shaped object flying in an ENE direction over the tree line. All we could really make out was that the bottom of the craft glowed predominately white but also had many colors spinning upward from the bottom of the craft to the edges.

In a matter of seconds two F-16s were seen in pursuit of this object. Their afterburners were approximately twice as long as the planes themselves. I know that they were F-16s as you could easily see the silhouette of their intake scoop directly underneath the cockpit against the ambient light emitted from Lake Charles and Westlake to the south.

The craft seemed to be leading them on a cat-and-mouse chase in that the planes would begin to catch up to the craft and then the craft would speed away in a different direction each time.

This "chase" occurred over the Calcasieu river which is less than a mile south of where we had gathered that evening.
