Driving and saw a hovering object over residences.

I was driving westbound on W Napoleon Ave in Metairie, LA to Lafriener Park around 1:30 in the afternoon today (sun Feb 19th). It just hovered for about a full minute on my left side view and caught me off guard since I live near the airport and this object was very low compared to the normal flights lifting off or about to land. It was dark gray with no windows and no markings. It was not a helicopter since it has no propellers. No sound. The last time I looked back it went up further in the air a bit and then a slight tilt to its left side and then it was gone so quick.

Spherical Light UFO traveling low, fast, and making quick turns.

Today, while taking a walk near my apartment near the canal on West Napoleon Street in Metairie, LA, I was looking to the west towards New Orleans International Airport expecting to see some airplanes in the distance. After about a second of looking in that direction, I saw something flying much lower and closer than I was expecting to see. The object I saw seemed to be about only a couple hundred yards away, about 100 feet in altitude, 5-10 feet in diameter sphere of white light, and was going extremely fast (at such a low altitude: appx. 100 mph by my estimation) and making drastic turning maneuvers without making any noise. After watching the object turn abruptly to start going over a residential area, the sphere of light “turned off” in the matter of a few tenths of a second. The object seemed to “be” light as I was not able to see any physical trace of the object after it disappeared. That was the last I saw of it.

What seemed to be a morning star dimmed the light and disappeared

was in the car on my way to work heading north on Causeway Blvd in Metairie and I saw a star in the morning sky, my thought was that the star was quite bright, it was warm white light, then I saw that it dimmed the light and I could still see an object there, it was a little darker than the sky, it got brighter again, but then dimmed the light and disappeared. I was able to look at that spot for several more minutes before the car had to turn and object didn’t show again.

very large 3 bright circles, 3 different colors, low in the sky

On or about November 28 I was sitting on my chair on my front porch around 6pm. It was a clear night; there were no clouds visible in the sky. About 5 minutes later I noticed 3 bright circles, one blue, one green, one burnt orange, appearing in the western sky. I observed these circles for about 10 - 15 seconds, then they shot off in a south easterly direction. I jumped up and ran to the end of my driveway to see if could still see them. There was no sight of the 3 objects. There is a tree about 30 feet tall. The objects were seen approximately 50 feet above this tree. In viewing the circular objects I had been able to see the top of the tree. Compared to the moon these objects were at least 10 times larger.

The next morning I saw search lights moving across the area where I had seen the 3 objects. These search lights continued to operate for the next 4 or 5 days. Possibly these objects had appeared on their radar, probably trying to confirm if they were still in the area.

This event occurred in Metairie, LA between West Napoleon Ave., the South I-10 Service Road, and Metairie Heights Ave., Gatehouse Apartment complex.

2 Orange Rocket like plumes in sky silent & still for 15 minutes.

The weather was light overcast with spotty clouds. The 2 UFO's I saw were due west and the 1st was approximately 45 degrees straight up from the crescent moon on my horizon about to set. It was orange and vertically oriented looking like the plume of a rocket, but was perfectly still. Its apparent size if holding at arms length was 1.25" high by .25" thick in the middle symmetrically tapering off upward & downward to a point (like a classic saucer oriented vertically but not metallic, it was rocket exhaust like) Within 3 or 4 minutes of seeing the 1st one another slowly faded in above and to the right of the 1st object. It looked exactly the same but not quite as bright. About 2 or 3 minutes later the 2nd object slowly faded out, then about 5 minutes later the original object slowly faded out as well. The whole time both objects were silent and still in the sky and still in respect to each other. I tried taking photo's with my cell phone but they didn't come out.

I have lived on the same property all my life and have never witnessed anything like that before.

Loud aircraft heard incredibly close above home.

This morning around midnight, I awoke a few minutes before I heard an incredibly loud aircraft pass over my home. I live in what's considered "Old Metairie", Louisiana, near the Causeway and there's quite a bit of noise outside--day and night. With the highway being so close there's constantly the drone of cars and 18-wheelers passing, not to mention I also live about 15 minutes from the airport so I'm used to hearing planes as well. 

Last night was different though. I woke up a couple minutes before it happened in a short coughing fit (it's flu season and I'm getting over it now) and laid in bed in silence with my dog before I heard what, at first, I thought was a helicopter approaching. I say it sounded like a helicopter because it was almost a pulsating whirring instead of a steady building of noise like an airplane. But my heart started to race because it seemed like it wasn't passing at all and instead was getting closer and louder until I certainly thought, at the volume it was at, there's no way it couldn't be right above the neighborhood. 

I couldn't bring myself to look outside and see; for fear of seeing anything other than a plane or helicopter, and instead I laid there holding my breath waiting for the noise to subside. After about two minutes or so it did but not without me trying to justify in my head what would have taken it so long as any other aircraft takes only seconds to pass no matter how close it sounds. I'd like to add that I also grew up on a military base so I'd consider my ears incredibly accustomed to the noise of training exercises and transport at all times of the day, but I couldn't shake the feeling last night that it was something I had never heard here before.

White luminous oblong disk speeding across Old Metairie, LA, sky from West to East, midway horizon.

Last night between 7:30--7:45 PM, I was sitting in my living room, in an upper apartment level that faces the southern sky over West Napoleon Avenue in Old Metairie, LA. My living room has a large glass sliding door that leads to a porch, and a large picture window, all facing south. My recliner faces both these windows.

Suddenly I saw a glowing, luminous white, oblong shaped disk, streak across the sky at an incredible speed midway or a little higher above the horizon. It traveled from West to East. By the time I jumped up and crossed the few feet to reach the glass door window, it had disappeared from sight.

For years now, I have been able to see airplanes, jets, helicopters flying in the sky from this view. None of them were ever shaped like this, glowed, or traveled at such speed.

I went outside to see if the sky was clear enough to do some observing with my telescope. I looked to the south & saw what I thought were 2 stars, when the lower one changed color from white to orange/red, when it began to move upwards in the direction of the top star (which I later identified as Sirius). As it moved closer to Sirius, it started to dim, until it went out altogether.

As I was driving I witnessed a blue orb with trailing wisps behind it over the interstate. It moved from the north side of the interstate across and to the south side of the interstate. I drove directly under it and watched it in the rear view mirror as well. It was slow moving and not erratic.

I was walking on Meadowdale street by St. Ann's church when I saw a bright white light move in an arc across the sky with a dimmer white light following above and behind it. The light in the foreground was about as bright as a star, but the light behind it was dimmer. The object was not a plane as by comparison there were planes in the background. The light left no trail so it did not appear to be a meteor. The lights appeared, moved in an arc and then vanished all in a matter of seconds.

Watched high altitude plane follow a bright ball of light SE across the sky.

Near Louis Armstrong International Airport, there was a high orbit bright ball of light. Thought it was a star, at first, then noticed it was moving.

About 15-20 seconds later a high altitude plane was following it. It was heading SE towards Old Metairie. It was not headbeam reflection.

It was two distinct craft, the craft, and the plane following it. If you've ever seen a satellite fly over, that's what it appeared to be in shape/size/brightness.

I do not know how to use cut and paste so I hope this gets through anyway because it is the only way I can do it. I left a brief message on the phone line on Aug. 14th at approx. 15:30.

On the evening of Aug. 7, 2015, my wife and I were sitting on our sofa watching tv and of course had the air conditioning running full blast because we have had six weeks in a row of 90 degree or higher temps every day with very little rain. It's hot even at night. Having these items on makes alot of noise in the house so it is a bit difficult to hear what is going on outside.

That being said, we began to hear a noise that we could not identify. It was a pulsating noise , fairly loud that can best be described as moaning and gringing and almost like the sound that the alien crafts made in the new version of the movie war of the worlds. It was very creepy for sure. Just about the time we were aknowledging to each other that we heard this sound, an extremely, and I mean extremely loud jet engine noise came roaring out of the northeast, came right over our house, but did not pass by as a plane normally would. Instead it stayed for at least 10 to 15 seconds, then slowly moved away to the west just a bit.

Our home is located in Metairie, Louisiana, about 15 miles to the West of New Orleans and the New Orleans Louis Armstrong Airport is about 5 miles due West of us. This sound scared us to death. We both instinctively ducked down as we thought for sure a plane was going to crash into our house. I ran out my back door as my wife ran to the front of our house to look out of our bedroom window. When I got in my yard and looked up I saw absolutely nothing, but could still hear very lound jet engine noise like that of an F-16 fighter.

I am retired from a 32 year career with a major airline here in New Oleans and have been around jet aircraft all my life. I know what an airliner sounds like and I know what one would sound like just normally on approach to land at the airport. This was NOT an airliner. I also know that military craft are not allowed to do routine training over a dense populated neighborhood such as ours and if they fly over at all the ceilin! g should be around 1500 feet or so. Knowing these facts as I d! o, I sti ll could not identify what it was I was hearing. The pulsating sound could still be heard and the jet engine sound was now moving back and forth from East to West and West to East as if fighter jets were chasing each other.

Not being able to see anything from the back yard, I ran back inside to find my wife shaking and scared to death looking out the window. She still could not see anything, but told me that the pulsating noise was really scaring her.I stayed with her for a few minutes and then ran out to my front yard.

Now it really got interesting. Once in the front I could see more sky but still not any craft at all in the sky. My UFO witness report does not come from a sighting but rather a "hearing". the pulsating noise got lounder and then softer as if to pulsate in and out or back and forth. The jet engine noise was so load that I was waiting to see an explosion and fireball any second figuring that what ever it was had to be in trouble or out of control.

All of the dogs in the neighborhood were barking and the cats were screming. The sounds gradually drifted further west toward the airport and started to sound as if they were going in a huge circle just like a ferrous wheel would do. And as the sound circled it still got loud then soft......when we first heard the jet noise I would estimate that it was no more than 200 feet off the ground.

I was shaking in fear so bad that my knees buckled and I almost fell to the ground. Very very slowly this grouping of sounds drifted more to the West, until they faded out of my hearing. I slowly managed to walk myself back inside to consult with my wife.

We sat down and compared what we had experienced but neither of us had the composure to call the police or anyone to report this. I tried to contact a couple of neighbors by text not wanting to wake anyone with a phone call at 11pm but got no responses.

I run a small lawn business since I retired from the airlines, and most of my customers are in a 10 mile radius of our house. As I saw them during this week, I asked them all the same question and only got the first few words out before every single one of them without fail stopped me by instantly blurting out almost identical stories. I would ask, "Oh, by the way, last Friday night around 10:30 did........" and that is where I would get cut off. ALL of them would then say the same thing...I heard a very strange noinse, I thought a jet was going to crash into my house, I heard a weird pulsating noise, and I was too scared to evern go outside to see what it was.......

I have spoken to over 15 people now and all are verly puzzled by this event. Two women actually did see something and they described it as follows. "We saw what appeared to be 5 F-16 fighter jets flying in CRAZY , INSANE PATTERNS......." Hmmmm. When I told one of my sons who now lives out of town he told me that a friend of his who lives near us, on two different occasions in the past year, has seen orange globes in the night sky flying in a triangle pattern over our neighborhood.......

I know from my background in the aviation industry that military jets are not supposed to fly over our houses that low. I also know that when they would practice touch and go at the airport it would be two of them in a pair but never five all at the same time. Calendar Air Force Base is about 20 miles from our house in Belle Chase, Louisiana, and could have sent up the jets.

I reported this to my councilman since it happened in the air space over his district, but I have not heard any response from him. I also reported to a local news channel but have not heard a thing back from them. Regardless of wether or not I get responses back from them, I do know that five F-16 don't just buzz rooftops and fly in crazy insane patterns over residential areas as a matter of daily training or normal missions. But yet there they were, flying in a frenzy over our heads for some reason. What were they chasing?

My two year old and I were swimming in the pool. It was partly cloudy. We were floating and looking straight up in the sky. I saw what appeared to be a star but it was still sunny, so i thought that was strange.

I pointed it out to my little girl and said, look at the star. I continued to watch it. As i did it stared to flicker and then it just faded out. I thought that was peculiar. Never witnessed anything like it before.

Also odd, on the night of my first sighting I hit three power ball lottery numbers, almost four. Odd synchronicity. I promise to be more vigilant in the future.

Silver saucer with red light on top and green light on bottom.

When I pulled into my driveway at home I noticed something hovering in the sky across the street. My oldest daughter had my cell phone for the past week so I was unable to photograph it. When I stood at the end of my driveway it was across the street located by the railroad tracks and water plant, it hovered at the tree tops, it was a bright silver with a red light on top and a green light on bottom and remained it that spot for at least 5 minutes, then I went inside. My mother came over and said did you see that "thing" in the sky and I said "yes, is it still there?" She replied, "yes", I went to look at it with her and it was gone. It showed up the next day around the same time and I have not seen it since. I have my phone back and I want to see it again so I can get pictures to post.

My childhood friend and I witnessed a strange aircraft flying low above Metairie not in accordance with airspace regulation.

My friend and I were heading back to his house from the gas station when we observed an unusual occurence. It appeared to be a jagged an awkwardly shaped private jet with two pairs of wings. It was flying much too low for its distance from the airport. It hardly made any noise and didn't have the regulatory green and red wing lights. The bottom was fully lit up. The craft appeared to be a shimmery charcoal grey. My friend and I couldn't believe it and were filled with unease and curiosity. We tailed the craft for a few blocks. It made sharp unwavering turns like a helicopter before finally making its way toward Kenner (where the airport is). It was too far to be that low.

As we neared Cleary, we ran into a friend of ours and gave him a ride home. After bringing up the strange "plane," our mutual friend took the words out of our mouths about witnessing this strange occurence. He too felt the same gut-wrenching discomfort and curiosity. It was unreal.

My family has lived here our whole lives and not once witnessed something like that. My father was just speculating the other day that if aliens exist and have been working with our government, their craft may look more "humanized" by now…

a high flying jet that has no contrails

Special report-date: Friday, 9 January, 2014; time: 4:07 P.M.

Saw what appeared to be a jet aircraft at cruising altitude, flying east to west. Altitude at better than 30,000 feet. No exhaust contrails to be seen streaming from behind the aircraft. Visual speed appeared to be greater than what would be expected of a conventional jet at that altitude.

Some ten seconds after visually watching a very high flying jet, the aircraft rises to a brilliant speck, then disappears completely from visual view in a cloudless blue sky! Aircraft configuration similar to most high flying jets, but with some visual differences. No noise from the aircraft due to its very high altitude, concomitant with very high altitude jets.

Obviously, the aircraft is not powered by jet engines, but powered by some other propulsive technology. Jet aircraft at that altitude always produce streaming exhaust contrails.

After a brilliant burst of light, the aircraft completely disappears.

Speculation: The "aircraft" makes a sharp upturn, and goes to space! This explains why, in a very clear sky, the "aircraft" visually disappears instead of continuing its east-west trajectory.

I saw 2 Bright Orange Lights which seemed to stay in one place

When I was driving home from work tonight around 10:20pm I noticed 2 very bright orange colored lights in the sky .

At first I thought they were airplanes but they were not moving and were extremely bright and seemed to stay in one place for 5 or more minutes.

I lost them behind the trees when I was exiting the elevated part of the I-10 and was back on ground level.

I have seen lights like this about a month ago but there were 3 and seemed to be in some type of formation.

Not sure if it could be military but they did not act like planes and were very bright.

Single object hovering over Lake Ponchartrain Louisiana.

My wife and I were driving side by side in seperate cars heading home towards Lake Ponchartrian when we both noticed at the same time, 3 bright objects flying in a triangular formation over the lake.

She called me from her car asking me if I was seeing the same objects that she was which I did.

We quickly drove to the lake, got out of our cars, and ran up the levee where one single object was left hovering over the lake.

I got out my cell phone, and was fortunate enough to capture an 11 second clip of the incident.

It hovered in place for about 10 minutes changing colors rapidly, and moving in an erratic pattern. The object gradually drifted away at a slow pace toward the horizon.

Very large, shiny object hovering near the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway near New Orleans

At about 4:15 p.m. on a clear, sunny day, I had just exited the interstate and was approaching a long, sharp curve in the road. Out of the top, right corner of my windshield, I noticed a very large, very shiny, silver object in the sky, absolutely frozen in place. Compared to how the sun appears in the sky, the object was maybe one-and-a-half times as wide and one-fourth to one-third as high. I watched it for as long as I could, which was maybe four to five seconds. I had to take my eyes off it to negotiate the curve. When I came out of the turn a few seconds later, the object should have been directly in front of me, but it was gone. The object appeared to have been a little way out over Lake Pontchartrain, near the Causeway, just outside of New Orleans. This would put it a few miles from the airport, but there’s no way it was a jet or plane. It was much too big, much too shiny, and it never moved during the time I saw it.

Bright Orange light flys incredibly quickly across New Orleans sky.

I observed a bright orange light go from one side (east) of the sky to the other(west) in significantly under 10 seconds. I brought my friends attention to it in the first 2-3 seconds, and he then observed it as well. It made a slight shift right after direct center from east to west, then continued in a new straight line from that point. The total time was well under 10 seconds, but I would guess over 5 seconds. There were several people sitting near us at the levee, and we asked if they saw it as well, and they said that they had. The speed was absolutely inconcievable to my mind. I do not know the height relative to earth to estimate a speed, but the object was clearly further than the clouds, but either within the earth's atmosphere, or BARELY without (I am quite sure it was well within the earth's atmopshere, but do not want to swear to it, and make the sighting loose legitimacy for lack of exact knowledge on this particular detail.

The light was clear the entire time, and the speed was, frankly, unbelievable. It went from near due east to near due west, across the entire sky in well under 10 total seconds.

Object over New Orleans streaked out of sight in a flash followed with a sonic boom.

This morning at 1:30 am I walked outside my house with a friend and he made a comment about how clear the sky was. When I looked up we both saw a bright flash of light and something streaked across the sky toward the southeast followed by what could only have been a sonic boom. It happened so fast we were both stunned. We couldn’t believe what we saw. If it were something man made it was incredibly fast. It disappeared out of sight too fast for us to see what it was. It looked like a shooting star only going out of the atmosphere. Flash streak BOOM!

Off-white ball zoomed across the southern sky

While sitting on our patio (between 12:30am and 1:30am on 3/13/05) we witness an off-white ball zoom across the southern sky. It seemed to come from nowhere and then just disappear. There was no sound and no trail behind it.

We live in a flight path but this was no plane (no sound, no blinking lights, fast, smooth).

UFO over Lake Ponchatrain - 1994

In the summer of 1994 a friend came to pick me up at the end of Clearview from apartments. I was living in @ the time. We were driving down Clearview and I saw a lot of different multi-coloured lights in the sky that were stationary.

I was excited and told him to follow the lights. We ended up at the other end of Clearview – he parked the car, we got out and went over the bankement. There was this huge circular object with multi-coloured lights that was stationary in the water over Lake Ponchatrain..I am not sure how many feet it was out -- there was absolutely no noise.

It stayed there for maybe 30-45 seconds, then started moving very slowly towards the bank where I & my friend were standing -- I started running towards it… but I just couldn’t get close enough. My friend and I then ran up on the bank to watch it slowly leave and literally disappear without a trace.

There were other people that night who had seen the same thing – they were standing further down from my friend and I. I want to say at least six people maybe more. I wish I would have spoken to them.

I cried after the experience – it was extremely overwhelming and impacted me for a short time in my life.

I have never seen anything like that before or since in my life. I hope I do see it again one day.

The saucer hovered appx. 3 miles away in the northern sky. Then it blazed right down our street with no sound lit everything like noon.

From a completly dark sky it blazed past above us and it was as bright as 12 noon on a clear day only for a fraction of a second, then disappeared from earth's atmosphere as it curved Eastward out of site completely. My friends inquired about the time and to our surprise it was about 1 1/2 hours later than any of us thought it should be 4:45 AM. High velocity wind at least 90 to 120 mph followed the soundless craft. I asked my friends what they just saw w/out any suggestions and one friend stuttered "a u-f-f-o!" He ran into his home and woke his parents. The other friend agreed it's what he saw as well.

I woke up and looked out the window to see a silver craft that made no noise at all

I had driven with my mother who worked for the post office and left very early in the morning to see a friend who lived close by where she worked.It was to early to take the bus the rest of the way to her house,so I laid in the van and went to sleep.All I remember was waking up and seeing a silver disk hovering above a house across the street.It made no noise at all.The next thing I remember was getting out the van.I didnt even remember this till years later.This is in the same neighborhood where as a child I had dreams of things standing outside of my bedroom window(they reminded me of,this may sound crazy,but of insects only standing upright and acting as a human would and I was very scared.As I got older I still had vivid memories of these things and wondered if they were really dreams at all.I have only had bits and pieces of memories of seeing that craft,but I remember now that there were people standing around me as I sat in some type of silver cold chair,I also seem to have burned in my mind that they told me they would be back and not to be afraid.It is very hard to explain this because everything is so fragmented.It is very hard to put into words.

Two circular objects/craft, luminous on their outer perimeters, flying in a staggered formation, sighted above back yard residence.

I was a young boy between 9 and 10 years of age, residing in what is called the Westgate area of Metairie, Louisiana. I believe the Parish is Jefferson County at that time. Our family lived on the Metairie side of the street, while Kenner was on the other side. My dad was working as a Buyer/Purchasing Agent for The Boeing Company supporting NASA on the early Saturn Rocket and Apollo space programs at the Michoud Assembly Facility.

Anyway, I remember my dad was reading the newspaper that I believe was the "New Orleans Times Picayune." Dad told me a newspaper article said that one of the Pegasus Satellites would be visible in the sky that evening. This was incredible, because I was so fascinated with all that was going on with the US Space Program and had many Vernher Von Braun and astronomy books. I was so excited about the news of this Pegasus Satellite that would be visible in the evening sky, that I ran over to my neighbor buddy's house to tell him about this news. We were so excited about this, that we were out early in my back yard looking up in the dark clear sky before this satellite was to appear overhead.

While we were waiting to get a glimpse of the Pegasus Satellite, all of a sudden two circular illuminated objects flew slowly directly over our heads. The best description that I have, is they were flying in a staggered formation and looked like two circular illuminated objects, illuminated just on their outer perimeters, and there was absolutely no sound whatsoever. Their distance or altitude to be between 300 and 500 feet. The direction of flight was from right to left as we were looking directly to the backyard. We were so astonished that we ran in the house to tell my dad, he laughed about it, although my mom went outside to look and the objects were now gone. This experience that I had as a young boy has bothered me for years, because of time gone by can cause uncertainty in believing, and as I have always wondered if any other residents of Metairie or Kenner had made any recorded reports of UFOs. I figured because of the "New Orleans Times Picayune" newspaper article that many residents had to be out looking in those evening skies, someone may have seen these objects too.

I do not know which Pegasus satellite we were looking to see at the time, as there were actually three that were launched to study micrometeoroid densities for the early Apollo Space program. My research tells me that the three Pegasus satellites were launched between February 16, 1965, and July 30, 1965…
