Not usually up at this time but happened to look out my window early the morning of 5/16/20 and noticed a bright orange-white object in the sky East from my vantage point in western VA. Because of clouds moving across the sky, the object was in and out of my view and at one point seemed to change shape..almost a rectangular shape, small end up. I could not discern any movement, it seemed to be stationary.This was a very bright light tho not quite neon. Eventually disappeared or was covered by clouds tho I did hang around to see if it would reappear...it did not.

A contrail was headed toward the ground and then changed direction after 3 more aircraft were drawing near

As I was driving to work I noticed a very short contrail plummeting toward the ground. About 5 minutes go by, and 3 aircraft coming from NE, N, and NW start closing in on the object. As soon as the aircraft coming in from NE drew near, the contrail changed direction and started heading South. After 10 more minutes all three aircraft were closing in on the contrail, but that was all I got to see before my exit.

Shape of a right triangle, with a white light in the central area and rainbow emitting from the white light, forming the shape of the triangle. As soon as I saw it, it "compressed" or "concentrated" into a single straight, white line and vanished. Appeared and disappeared without any sort of special effect. It appeared as if it was there the whole time and disappeared as if it was never there.

Two independent sightings, one light, followed by three lights in a delta formation.

At approximate 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2015 my roommate and I were talking out on our balcony which faces about south east. I was sitting in a low chair and my roommate was standing with his back against the railing, facing me and the door to the apartment--he could not see the sky. As we talked I observed a bright light moving across the sky that resembled the profile of a meteor, that is to say the light grew brighter as it moved laterally across the sky from the right of the balcony to the left. That would put it coming from roughly the south to the north. If the light had streaked then disappeared I would have thought it to be just that, a meteor. However, about 2 seconds after the light appeared the path of the light curved sharply upward and disappeared. The light did not fade out, it was there and then it wasn’t there.

This was so strange that I stood up and told my roommate what I had seen. There wasn’t much to say other than I had seen a light moving strangely in the sky. We joked that I was the only one to have seen it and that I now had a ‘UFO’ story that was unsubstantiated. It wasn’t two minutes later that he pointed up into the sky and yelled ‘look at that!’ I thought he was kidding around at first but as I looked three uniformly shaped lights in a delta formation moved rather swiftly and silently through the sky toward the place where I saw the first light curve upward. From our point of view they came over the apartment building which would put them moving roughly east. In the interim between the first light and the sighting of three lights we observed five or six passenger jets flying overhead which is common for this area. These planes took about 30-40 seconds to cross the majority of the sky. The lights we saw crossed about half of the visible sky in less than 4 seconds.

As the lights receded from us, the back right light broke formation in a non-ballistic motion, curving through the sky much like a motorcycle zipping around traffic, and passed between the other two as all three accelerated and then disappeared. Just like the first like the first light that I saw, they did not fade out. They were simply there and then not there. I had my cell phone in my hand while we watched, however I was so completely mystified by what we were seeing that by the time it occurred to me to try and film the lights had gone. It likely wouldn’t have shown up though, because once I had begun to take video most everything was black except for the brightly lit parking lot.

I don’t recall the shape of the first light very clearly. It didn’t really gain my full attention until it curved upward. The three lights however were very round, nearly perfect discs of soft white light. They appeared to be very high above us. I could not discern any detail other than the relative size and shape. There was no tell-tale warbling of jet engines nor any other sound to indicate a fast moving aircraft.

Shortly after our experience another roommate came home and after we told him what we saw, he indicated that he had seen a similar light in the sky akin to the first light that I saw. He was outside and less than 5 miles away to the north west of our apartment. He said that he noticed a bright light in his periphery and turned to look at it. As he did the light was obscured by the little cloud cover that was out. It was strange enough to him that he got the attention of another person next to him but as he directed their attention to the expected position in the sky, the light did not reappear. He did not witness the other three lights.

I was leaving my friends house late in the summer to head back to mine a few streets over. He had grabbed a cigarette and we sat on the chairs outside glancing up at the stars, it was a clear warm night. He was an avid listener to coast to coast AM so we would always joke about if/when we were gonna see something. We were chatting about plans and I said alright I'm out bye! As I turned and walked he said my name as to get my attention. When I turned back to him thats when I saw it...

A orange orb hovering between us and the house across the back yard, distance to house would be under 50 yards and typical 1 or 2 story height. The orb was close though with a size of maybe beach ball or yoga ball, its honestly hard to tell because of what it did and the shock of seeing it but it seemed to be above the house but nearer to us. They or whatever it was knew we were there. I know this because of the ending of sighting which proves this was not a reflection or hallucination. It was real not "earthly" but very real. It lasted at most a minute or two, at first it was hovering still like a mini sun almost. Then it did a weird jellyfish or dead leaf motion, in and out, getting slightly bigger then slightly smaller and with each pulse in and out it went up maybe 10ish feet. It did that roughly 5 times until the last one it shot off upward and instantly disappeared, we both turned to each other, thinking we just saw something very weird.

Here is the freaky part... I took steps out into yard to fully look for it and saw nothing. No less than a minute later we hear this noise from off in the distance, louder and louder until a single military fighter jet, no lights of any kind came screaming down in an obvious dive chase from higher up. I've seen blue angels and others do tricks and show off at norfolk/va beach multiple times, very familiar with the sounds they make. This was a jet looking for that orb, which was obviously toying with him when it decided to come show off to us or say hello, who knows. All I know is we were in shock and out of nowhere that jet probably high up in the sky saw it again and dive chased it not knowing we had front row seats to the whole thing. I would love to have a chat with that pilot because he must've had that control stick fully pulled back when he crossed over us, he was that low.

We had both seen questionable things like lights or things in the sky but they could've been anything really.
Those combined events however will forever be engrained in my memory.
I still get goosebumps thinking about the sound that jet made as it passed us...

I was sitting in my living room watching tv, when I noticed a light moving across the sky through the window.

I went outside expecting to hear a helicopter because it was too low to be a plane. It was very bright and completely silent moving in a straight line. It flickered and was almost pink in color. It was easily seen for four or five minutes and then disappeared.

My husband observed it for a moment with me before it disappeared. It wasn't so far away that we couldn't see it, it just vanished while it was easily observable!

The sky was very clear, no clouds, and no sound other than cars occasionally on the road. I could see the lights of planes much farther up but this was much lower and much slower. Certainly close enough that we should have heard it.

Saw a bright light a few hundred feet in sky. The object looked as if it were on fire because it was glowing so bright. Drove closer and I was almost directly underneath the object. I got out off my car to get a better look and I saw the object hovering in the sky still glowing bright red. And no more than a few seconds of watching the craft, it began to move, first very slowly but then it appeared to move in bursts leaving a brief light trail.. It then lit up in a bright white light then the lights turned off. I then saw the very dark silhouette of what appeared to be some sort of air craft. (It was kind of boxy in shape) and there was no sound what so ever coming from the craft and then it vanished in the distance.

Not saying it was an alien but it may have been a drone.. I'm not sure

Circular UFO over Interstate 81 in Shenandoah Valley Virginia

I was driving north on I-81 and it was a very clear day. I was on my way back from my best friends Marine Corps ITB graduation, in North Carolina.

I looked out to the left of the road into a valley between two mountains. I saw what I thought was the top of a water tower. A round almost spherical shape sitting at the height that a water tower would be.

Then I realized that there were no legs under the top of the water tower, which would mean it was hovering.

I told my buddy sitting next to me in the passenger seat and he saw it and thought it was just as out of place as I did. It was a jaw dropping sight to say the least, I almost crashed the car a couple of times.

After observing this thing for a little, we drove around a bend that had some trees and lost our visual on the UFO. When we exited the bend and the trees were gone, the UFO was gone as well.

Brilliant spherical object traveling S to N at low altitude, high rate of speed with no sound.

A brilliant spherical object which appeared to be 1 cm to the naked eye traveled from south to north (right to legt). The object was totally silent, and left no visible trail such as smoke or exhaust.

From my 8 years experience as a Navy pilot, I would estimate that the object was at an altitude of approximately 1000 feet above the ground, at an estimated speed of 600 - 700 knots.

As the object was traveling away, it was observed to slightly vary its course from left to right, rather than follow a ballistic trajectory.

Triangles "dancing" in the sky

It was late dusk with verk low cloud cover and I apologize for my lack of aeronautical knowledge. I was facing east when I saw 2 blue/white florescent lights hovering below very low cloud cover. They were a few hundred feet apart and no more than a few miles above my house. They seemed to be "dancing" with each other moving in circular patterns quickly accelerating and performing maneuvers in the air that are physically IMPOSIBLE. They were black triangular silhouttes with one neon/white/blue headlight. These objects would circle around the sky and accelerate quickly and then stop and move at a measured pace -periodically stoping and "floating/hovering" in the same spot. They moved through the air with ameoba like precision and performed calculated routines that seemed to be for surveying the area below. After 5 minutes due to the cloud cover and the fact that they were headed west (headlight leaving me) I lost track of them. Again I am not a physici! st but what I just saw defied the laws of nature and gravity and was like nothing I have ever seen or imagined I'd be reporting.

Very bright disk shape eastern sky Harrisonburg

I was standing on the porch and looking toward Eastern sky. A disk shape object appeared and got brighter and brighter. A cone shape of light came down slowly from the disk. I do not know the elevation, but a plane flew under the object and the plane looked in comparison to be an ant. It was huge and was the brightest light I have ever seen. As the plane flew underneath it dissapated and was gone.

The cone shape light emitting could have been the smoke from a missile, but why would it retract up when the plane flew underneath and the smoke not lose its shape? Called UFO hotline and was told it was a test missile. If this was a test missile why are they shooting missiles in a flight zone and at night.

June 10-12 saw bright light stopping and going;dissapearing while watching; assumed satellites changing direction

6-10-08 I went out on the back porch to smoke a cigarette around 9pm and while doing that I looked up at the sky like I usually do hoping to see a shooting star because I live out in the boonies somewhat, so I can see the whole sky really good. What caught my attention was a bright light up and southward, I said “wow that sure is a big bright star” after looking at it about 2-3 seconds it started moving south for about 3-4 seconds then it stopped for 1-2 seconds then started moving again for about 2-3 seconds then stopped again for 1-2 seconds, at that time I was right outside the door so I rushed in to grab my binoculars, because that was just weird, which took about 3 seconds, when I came back out and looked at it was still moving south for about 4-5 seconds then got dim real quick and disappeared. I’m not sure what it was; while looking through my weak binoculars I couldn’t really make anything out, I couldn’t get them to focus in time.

6-11-08 As usual I was out on the back porch smoking, not sure probably around 9 or 10pm, and of course I looked up at the sky and I can usually see satellites often, well I spotted one heading north as I watched it for about 8 seconds, it got real bright for about 4-5 seconds still moving then got dim quickly as I followed it with my eyes until I couldn’t see it anymore lasting about 4 seconds.

6-12-08 Weird enough, it was about 10:30-11pm at the time, and I was talking to my mom over the phone out on the back porch; as I was talking to her I was looking up at the sky, and saw a satellite directly overhead heading north so I followed it with my eyes for about 8 seconds while still talking on the phone and I started laughing at mom and looked down from the sky about 3 seconds then looked back up again and saw the same satellite going the opposite way southward, I am just freaked out a little from the past 3 days of weird stuff in the sky, I don’t know if this means anything , but I’ve been trying to see online if anyone has seen any of these for the past 3 days and so far I have nothing.

Strange lighted craft flies low in Grassy Creek.

As I was leaving a friend's house, I observed what looked to be a helicopter at street level with its searchlight on. As i began heading towards it, I noticed that this craft was below the treeline. As soon as my headlights hit it it began to rise very slowly and the searchlight went off.

I stopped to see what it would do and it began to slowly move left and right still hovering approx. 25 to 30 feet off of the ground. As it moved closer to me i noticed that there were several lights on the craft some singular and three linear banks of lights. What was odd was that the lights were not the kind seen on conventional aircraft. The single lights were very brite white and 2 of the banks were a very brite amber color, and the last bank of lights were both white and yellow and only the yellow lights oscillated.

Also, I noticed that the craft stayed situated exactly the same way as it rose from behind the trees and never moved faster than 2 or 3 mph for as long as I saw it.

A few things about this sighting did not seem to make since. First, it was wintertime at almost 2 am and the weather was not condusive to flight. It was like 10 degrees below 0 and the wind was blowing that nite from 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 60.

I stepped out of my car as it crossed the hood of my car and there were visible means of propulsion or any wings or fuselage for the lights to be attached to no wings or anything other than the lights, it was perfectly silent!

I lost sight of this craft as it slowly went over the house i was stopped in front of. It was then that I realized that the lights on the craft were configured to look like a helicopter, but it was indeed "ABSOLUTELY NOT" a helicopter.

I went around the development to re-aquire this craft and never saw it again.

I meant to say there was NO visible means of propulsion!

Circular object offwhite in color, emiting no sound traveling at supersonic speed.

Standing on my deck, looking to the Northeast when I notiticed at about 45 t0 60 degrees off the horizon a Circular object. At first I thought it was a Plane of some sort but then I noticed it didn't omit any sound. The object passed by so quickly that I estimate that it was maybe 3500 to 4000 feet high. It may have been a lot higher but I'm not really sure about that. The Object was circular, solid in appearance but without any distinct markings. It almost resembled the color of a cloud.( offwhite) The object I feel was going supersonic speed because it was out of sight in no time at all, headed in a Northeast direction. When I first noticed the object, it was about the size of maybe a nickle or a quarter from my perspective. as it traveled to the Northeast, it rapidly decreased in size rapidly until I lost it over the Horizon. There were no clouds in the shy,just a beautiful evening. This is the first time that I ever noticed anything like this and I tell you that I was really taken back in awe about the event. Could it have been a Satilite, I don't know since the sighting was in daylight.

I saw a ball of light, which quickly disappeared.

As a friend and I were walking across the campus, a ball of light shot past us and then disappeared. The object was only 20-30 feet above ground, and was no larger than 6-12 inches in diameter. The speed of the object was somewhere around 30-50mph. It came from behind, startling my friend and I, then quickly disappeared. It's flight path was an upward arc, kind of a swooping motion, arcing upward after passing us. This object made no sound at all.

There were no electrical storms, no powerlines nearby and no one else directly around us.

My friend and I were college students at the time. I am a former Marine and have had aircraft observation/identification training.

I didn't think much of this incident until I saw video taped evidence of "balls of light" nearby or directly above crop circle incidents. When I saw those video images, it brought back to memory what I had seen. I'm not sure if the object was a spacecraft or some natural anomaly, but it was definitely real.

large, well-lit saucer passes only a hundred feet above house

I will never forget my first encounter with an unidentified flying object. I had been inside my house in a very rural area watching television with my family. It was after the last show of the night, and I went to my front porch to relieve myself, as many do out in the woods. As I stepped out of my front door onto the porch, I saw what I can only describe as two car headlights right above the treeline in front of my house, which was about a hundred yards distant. The trees themselves were about 75 to 100 feet tall, and I estimated the lights were no more than 50 feet above that.

So I was stunned at the sight, which my mind attributed to their being a car hovering in the sky. Instantly, I realized that this was impossible as the lights revealed themselves to be on the front of a large craft. It was moving at about 10 miles an hour, at about the rate of a running person. I ran in the house, screamed to my family to see the sight, then ran back outside. The craft was now directly over our house, and I ran out in the yard to stand under it, to the great distress of my mother & father who assumed I'd get beamed up by it or something.

I looked up into the bottom of the ship, of which the outline I could barely see due to darkness, (but I could make out a vague saucer shape) but the craft had four really bright lights arrayed as points on a cross directly across from each other. I'd say they were roughly fifty feet away from each other. The craft appeared to be about a third larger, maybe a saucer with a diameter of 75 to 100 feet. As per most ufo sightings, I heard hardly any sound as the massive craft passed overhead. I strained my ears and heard a very faint hum. As the craft passed over the trees behind my house in the direction of the rising moon, I could make out more of the thickness of the saucer and the general shape. It appeared to be about thirty feet or so with a blinking blue strobe light on top.

We were in an intense state of excitement after this occured, and my dad called the police and reported the sighting (with a satisfaction only a life-long science fiction fan could have). The next day at my high school, I found out that several people I knew had seen the craft as well, and some had even shot at the thing with no effect. Another friend and her sister had chased the thing in a car only to have it shoot straight upward at a great rate of speed after a lengthy chase.

That's my tale, I found this site and wanted to record my experience for the ages, I guess...even if it happened over ten years ago. To the life of me I can't figure out how such a thing could propel itself with no air downdrafts or normal means of propulsion/lift. If it was a military craft, they are working with some EXTREMELY sophisticated technology these days...if I wouldn't have been outside I'd never have seen it.
