Slow moving , bright orange starlike object at high altitude .

To NUFORC,

I wish to report a UFO sighting that I saw tonight , 17/7/09 , at approximately 8.30p.m. Australian eastern standard time. My partner and I were seeing off friends in our back yard and while looking looking into the sky towards the south I noticed a slow moving bright orange object moving from the south-west towards true south .

We are located at Launceston, Tasmania and the object was initially travelling from south-west towards south-east and then seemed to turn right heading south and also climbing away. My partner suggested it was an aircraft but I was sure it wasn’t as there were no red or green flashing navigation lights and I also believed it was not in a viable flight path area as it would have created a problem for normal Launceston airport air traffic . Launceston airport is south of the city of Launceston and the position of this object was at high altitude but seemingly directly above the airport .

The object being at a high altitude was of only the size of a star but distinctly bright orange in color . There was scattered cloud and as the object climbed away the intensity of brightness began to vary until eventually we could not see it .

I would like to say that I am an astronomy enthusiast and often gaze at the night sky whilst having a cigarette in our back yard and try to identify sky objects such as planets and various stars and sometimes see sattelites . I am certain I have not mistaken this object for a normal aircraft and while I would be thrilled at the prospect of proof of alien visitors buzzing around our world in spaceships , I would never generate a hoax or false claim of this nature . I was going to run inside to grab my digital camera but I realised that the object was going to be out of view within seconds and at best a photo would have only shown a faint , starlike object .

Ufos seen from Australian suburb, two days running

Friday the 7th/December/2007, 20.55hrs.

A Woman,58 yrs old, in Launceston, Tasmania, sitting in her lounge room at 20.55hrs noticed two lighted objects, moving from the east toward her house. These objects, only seconds apart, lost altitude and elevation from 30degrees elevation, to 20degrees elevation, before rising again to about 30degrees and made for a steady course and altitude in a southern direction, and accelerated away.

NOTE.....Two other witnesses were present, and both describe the same event (report forms are being expedited, and information to be added here) The woman then picked up a cheap pair of binoculars from no more than 1.5 mtrs from here window and focused on the objects, for a better view......

As the two objects moved south, it was noticed that two stationary objects were hovering, one above the other, at a reasonable altitude towards the southern end of the first 2 objects trajectory Approximately 30 minutes later, two objects moving north were seen on the same flight path as earlier, but reversed. When the objects returned to their point of origin in the sky, it is said they accelerated and gained altitude until they disappeared from view. These objects are described as being of a triangular configuration, with a white/blue - green prism type colour effect, at each point, and a thin white line of light between each point.

The sky was clear of clouds, apart from some weather moving in from the horizons to the east and north, and the moon was not visible. The sighting occurred in an area of sky not usually known for air traffic, by the witness, her family and some of the local residents, 2 of which have lived in the area for over 20 yrs.

The witness describes her state of mind as frightened, and then curious and moving more to a state of acceptance. She has always been a believer that we are not alone in the universe, but has never before had a sighting of her own. The witness is a full time carer, of her elderly mother, and a professional therapist. As an avid artist she also has a good eye for detail, and her memory seems not to fail her in conversation. The Witness also has a good knowledge and deep interest in the area of astronomy..

Saturday the 8th/December2007, approx - 20.55hrs In approximately the same position as the previous nights sighting started, a stationary object became visible, described as being three straight lines of light, hovering in a partly cloudy sky. It is said that the lights seemed to give the impression that they were only part of a lager object, of an ovoid nature. The same three witnesses then moved to the outside of the house, on the eastern side, for a better view This object was visible for ten minutes, until clouds moved in and obstructed vision. At this time it was noticed that there were approximately 12 other objects, slightly bigger than stars and bearing the same colours of the previous nights objects, peppered across the sky. The colour of these objects was noted as not being normal for stars, even with the light pollution from the city. There were some small fires burning around the state, high altitude smoke haze could have caused some alteration in the appearance (colour / aura etc.) of some brighter stars.

All the usual contacts (air traffic control, police, councils etc) drew blank on alternate explanations.

strange thing in australia

my family and i were walking in tasmania australia at this place they call the gorge near the penny royal hotel which you can see on some websites any way i was taking photos with my phone because it has a camera on it and this thig in the sky went so fast and went towards the sun it left a huge sky trial it was to fast to be any plane i got it on camera from my phone. i was actually in tasmania for a holiday i live in queensland australia which is far north from there but i believe that not many people have reported ufo sighting in australia. But a lot of people have seen strange things let me tell u that.

it looked like a star but it was stationary but would move every now and again, from the distance it was it was moving in approx a i cm circle and was moving rapidly and slowly. i do not know what it was but i would like to know. it was in the east of launceston, tasmania, australia

3 blue ships

There were 3 ships all a bright blue colour. They hovered in formation for around 4 minutes then 2 just vanished while one stayed for a little longer sort of looking. Then suddenly vanished with a flash of light.

Object seemed to move at speed and then stop. It was radating a yellow/gold colour.

We were leaving a friends house and as I was on my way to the car I noticed how clear the skys were, when I was distracted to the object in the sky that looked to radating a golden glow. I sent my girlfriend back in to get the other two and they met me on their front yard. It had moved some distance between the time we had first seen it and the time the others arived. the distance of the object from where I was standing, well lets just say I think it wasn't in the atmosphere. I stopped and hovered for a while, and it got so cold we left and came home.
