I observed a black, circular object moving across the sky for about 3 seconds. It did not emit any light or sound. The object appeared solid and left a dark shadow or trail as it passed. Its flight path was not entirely straight — it slightly zigzagged (moved left and right briefly) before disappearing. The sky was mostly clear with visible stars, no moon, and I am certain I was fully conscious and not mistaken. I also verified there were no satellites like the ISS in that direction at the time.

I saw an UFO looks like Saturn

9 black triangle ufos

My brother and I are in an elementary school at night. Then I looked up at the sky and saw a white light, I couldn't see clearly and just thought it was a plane or a drone. Then the 2nd and 3rd ones flew by. I began to see more clearly, 3 lights on 3 sides of the triangle, its light looked quite like an airplane but silent and triangular. About 5 minutes later, the 4th and 5th planes flew over. The 5th one looks the most different, it's bigger than the others and its lights are brighter. The 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th flew by, each about 2 to 4 minutes apart. The 8th one was as big as the number 5, the light was so bright that I could clearly see a black triangle with rounded edges, the 9th one was the same as the previous ones but when it flew into the clouds I didn't see it fly out again. And I saw flashing lights and unblinking lights flying from east to west

Silent, dark chevron-shaped object flew over us and faded from view

My 8 year old son and I were out for a walk outside our apartment in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We stopped to look up at the stars in the clear night sky at about 7:30pm.

Suddenly my son pointed and exclaimed “Dad! Look at that!”

It took me a moment to make it out, but distinctly against the night sky there was a dark gray/navy “V” chevron shape to the south moving north towards us, pointy end leading. The leading tip of the chevron was an angle of about 45 degrees. It had sharp angles and shimmered around the edges, kind of like if I were looking at it through a hazy mirage. It trailed the shimmering for about half to full width of the object. It was hard to make out because it closely matched the color of the night sky, but it was just a bit darker. Totally silent.

My son claimed to see 5-6 dim orange-ish lights on the underside. I didn’t see any lights, although his eyes are sharper than mine. He also said he saw a cube-shaped object closely trailing the chevron, almost a part of it. I don't recall that, but I do recall there was a roiled air or vapor shimmering trailing the object closely, like a ripple. It may have contained another object shape close to the chevron or otherwise account for what my son reported.

We watched the object pass over us and across the Saigon river moving north. It moved in a straight line and uniform modest speed. It faded out on the other side of the river. I couldn't tell if the light angle changed such that we lost sight of it, or if it just faded and disappeared. About 30 seconds total viewing time.

I have no idea how far up it was because there was no reference point. My gut told me it was not close to the ground, up at least a few hundred meters and probably more. If that’s true it was massive. The wingspan (if you can call it that lol) was about the width of 3-4 fingers held together at arm's length. Much larger than I am accustomed to seeing jetliners.

Really no clue what this was, other than highly unlikely it can be explained by weather phenomena. I earned my private pilot's license and enjoy amateur sky-watching, so am familiar with aircraft. This was like nothing I've ever seen. The regular shape, sharp angles, uniform speed and direction suggested intelligent control -- by whom, I've no idea.

Dark, silent chevron-shaped object crossed sky with constant speed and bearing

My 8 year old son and I were out for a walk outside our apartment in District 2, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. We stopped to look up at Orion in the clear night sky at about 7:30pm. No wind, temperature about 76 degrees Fahrenheit.

Suddenly my son pointed and exclaimed “Dad! Look at that!”

It took me a moment to make it out, but distinctly against the night sky there was a dark gray “V” chevron shape to the south moving north towards us, pointy end leading. To the southeast of Orion. The object was hard to spot because it closely matched the color of the night sky, but it was just a bit darker. Once we made it out it was quite clear though. Totally silent.

The leading tip of the chevron had an angle of about 90 degrees. The rear of each arm of the V cut off perpendicular to its direction. All parts had a defined shape and sharp angles.

It shimmered around the front, side and trailing edges, kind of like if I were looking it through a hazy mirage like light being refracted differently immediately around it. The shimmering began on the leading edges of the object and kind of rolled around it in a ripple. This effect trailed the object for about half to full width of the object, like a wake in water.

I’ll try to describe in more detail the shimmering, roiling ripple effect around and behind the object because it was so odd. Maybe the closest thing is the bow ripple and roiling water in the wake of a ship, but that's not quite right. It gave me a distinct impression of light being refracted differently in the ripple, like looking at a mirage or the way faraway objects refract when looking through hot air over a hot road in summer, or the way an object refracts when looking at it on the bottom of a pool. This effect was only immediately around the leading edges and trailing the object, not present on the body of the object. It appeared around leading edges like a ripple, rolled around the outside of the object and trailed like a roiling turbulent wake that quickly dissipated.

My son claimed to see fewer than 10 dim pinpoint orange-ish lights on the underside in the outline of the V. I didn’t see any lights, although his eyes are sharper than mine. He also said he saw a cube-shaped object closely trailing the chevron, maybe a part of it. I didn’t see a cube, but the shimmering, roiling wake effect I described may have contained another object close to the chevron or otherwise account for the cube my son reported.

I've attached sketches my son and I made independently after viewing the object. His is on the left, mine right. His shows placement of lights on the V and the cube-like object trailing the V. I also attached a photo I found online that looks very similar to the object we saw, except that our object was darker than the sky and the ends of the boomerang didn't taper but ended in sharp angles.

Two green lights travelling at incredible speed.

My friend and i were walking the streets of Ho chi mihn (Saigon), it was about 7pm, it was just starting get dark. As my friend is a photographer, she was always looking round for a good shot, when suddenly she screeches, "whats that". I looked up at the sky, which had a few clouds, but mainly blue sky, i saw two bright green lights following one another making no sound whatsoever. They were just like lasor pointers, but green. As they came from behind one cloud and disapeared behind another, there is no way that they were lasor pointers. All they were, were two dots, tavelling at an incredible speed. They definately were not fireworks. I have no rational explanation for what we'd seen, does anybody out there know? I dont know if anybody else seen what we did that day, All i know is that it terrified us for the rest of our trip.

Camouflaged UFO flew low and slow over military post

While stationed at Long Binh Army Post in the Rebublic of Vietnam in about 1972, two other soldiers and I witnessed an object that seemed to fly low and slow across the post.

The object may have been cylindrical but actually had no definate shape. The object looked like heat waves but with a sort of cylindrical shape.

My buddies and I asked each other if we were seeing what the others were seeing and we agreed that we were all seeing the same thing. Th object looked to be only a few hundred yards away and a few hundred feet off the ground. It was traveling slow and we heard no sound. It maintained the same speed and direction until out of sight.

It is my opinion that the object was camoed or "cloaked" in some fashion to keep from being seen.

I have never heard of another UFO report of a similar object although I don't keep up with UFO sightings. Maybe you have.

One night, high in the mountains of the vietnamese jungles..I, along with my gun crew were manning a machinegun overlooking the steep slopes of a mountain ledge and we were talking softly of home and wondering if any of us would get back there. When, suddenly , a bright lite, very high up in the sky attracted our gaze. The night sky was clear and we can see countless stars above but this light was brighter then any of the stars that was above us, when , suddenly, the bright light began to move in a very precise way. It moved out horizontally and and without stopping, it went down in a vertical ascent and then horizontally and then vertically down and it did this like moving down a step of stairs at such pricise angles about a half dozen steps and then in a perfect return arc to the point it first started moving...it had return to it's original position and then in a flash, it moved up and out into space at a tremendous speed and disappeared from our sight. We knew of nothing in our arsenal or anyone else's that could have made maneuvers like that.As for being nowhere near civilization, after a few days ,we had all forgot about what we had seen and never made any sense of it anyway. Just wanted to get that off of my chest, after all these years, I believe that at the time, we had witnessed a U.F.O.

Saucer and Dome observed by Starlite Scope in Vietnam During the War.

While on guard duty in the Republic of Vietnam (with Battery A, 1st Battalion, 7th Artillery) my job was to scan the treeline with a starlite scope for enemy movement/lights. We had received mortar fire recently upon our dug-in position in the "Catcher's Mitt" area of South Vietnam. This area had never been occupied by U.S. forces until our arrival late in November of 1969 by air assault.

While scanning the treeline I saw a saucer shaped craft flying above the trees. It tracked slowly from south to north and as I followed it a dome-like structure came into view sitting on the side of a hill. In the view from a 1969 vintage starlite scope any light source appeared green. The dome slowly pulsed and as the saucer approached, it appeared to enter the dome, no details were discernible, only that the saucer disappeared into the dome.

I continued to watch, and sent the second guard to get the battery commander, an artillery captain (Captain ((name deleted))). As I watched, the saucer, or a second one that was its twin, left the dome and "launched" into the sky. About that time the captain arrived and I said "Take a look at that sir." He did, watching for five or six minutes then he straightened up. "What should we do sir?" I asked.

He replied we were to do nothing and no report was to be written up. I watched the dome all night, it continued to pulse, but when I left guard duty a few hours later the saucer had not returned. There was never any discernible sounds, I listened for the "whomp, whomp" of a chopper or the sound of jets and never heard anything. I mentioned the incident to the guard releaving me, but he was unconcerned as long as it "Wasn't VC".

The following night I took a look through the scope to where the dome had been the night before, but it was gone. I've never reported this other than to my captain.

I noticed it move to ward the South a little then stop on a dime, leaving a trailing tracing effect (a blur of light)from start to stop. repeating this numerous times.when it was almost due South it shot upward at about 45 degrees back toward the North.I can't describe the shape, size or distance accurately.It was distant several miles, best guest. It deffinately was'nt any of our aircraft.

2 high altitude lights making oblique turns, starts and stops, and then shooting into space at incredible speed.

Another witness and I noticed that an apparent star in the twilight started to move. It moved slowly in straight lines and then it would make sudden oblique angles. After a few minutes another "star" started making the same movements. Then the first flying object came to a complete stop. The second oject then headed for the first, but just as they nearly joined, they both sped off into space together at a speed appearring faster than a shooting star.

The craft had hovering and speed capabilities way beyond anthing that I have ever seen.

Peter- Thanks for getting back to me oon the missouri sighting. I will read about you experience at NUFORC.

This experiene happened off the coast of Vietnam in the Tonkin Gulf during the Vietnam war. At the time I was in OI division (Operational Intelegence). I was a Radarman/Electronic counter measures and also trained as a lookout, so I had good observational skills.

I was on duty on the 010 level, which is as high as you can get on the ship. WE were standing down that night so there was no flight operations. There were other aircraft carriers in the gulf doing flight operations but I know what other air craft look like in the night sky. I was on port lookout duty that night and another person was on starboard lookout duty. We both observed a light, that changed colors, off the port side of the ship a aproximatly 15 miles away and 20 degrees from the horizon.

I called CIC, Combat information center, to see if they had anything on radar. They reported that they did not have anything on surface or air radar in that area of the sky. The light seemed to hover in place for about 1 min then shot over head stoping off the starboard aft at about 10 t0 15 miles and about 30 degrees off horizon. The speed was so fast thar it left a streak of light as it traved through the sky. The distanced traveled was, we guessed, about 20 to 30 miles in about a second or two.

Being in ECM I knew what air craft the U.S. and U.S.S.R had at the time and nothing could match the maneuvers this light was doing.

We called down to the bridge to see if they had anything on there radar and to report it to the duty officer. They reported no contacts in that area either. The light hovered there for a few seconds then came toward the ship, it got about over-head and then shot straight up and disapeared within a couple seconds.

North east sky why on duty at airbase was watching red tracers, heading down out of sky at ementy,notice several white lights close together,first one would jet away then come back,then a few others did the same,then they all just disaperad, thought this strange at the time,and just let it slide,maybe it was a group of huyes or gun ships,but they don't use lights at night when attacking

Silent, slow moving light that eventually took off very fast.

I was going to guard duty one night while I was in Viet Nam. We were on the mountain overlooking Da Nang. About a dozen of us were standing around talking, while waiting to go to our posts. One person spotted a light and pointed it out to all of us. The light was changing colors and was unlike any light we had ever seen. It moved slowly and quietly until it was almost over us. It hovered for about 5 to 10 minutes. At the last, it took off, straight up, at a great velocity and was gone in a second or two. We spent most nights on guard duty and were used to all of the lights of the night sky in Viet Nam, and this moved in a fashion that no known terrestrial vehicle could move.

Lights in the Nam

Well, I'm a Vietnam War Veteran and I've kept this to myself for some time. Back in the Nam I was part of a LRRP unit. LRRP stands for Long Range Recon Patrol and it consisted of a team of 6 men. a Team Leader, Asistant Team Leader, Medic, Engineer, Weapons Specialist, and Radioman. I was out with my team in IV Corps in the Vietnam Jungles. We had humped through the boonies all day and we set up an NDP (Night Defensive Perimeter). We took turns sleeping and keeping watch. At about 01:45 I heard movement ahead. My bro Levin heard it too. We woke up the other 4 men and we all readied ourselves for the upcoming contact. Suddenly we saw it... an alien. In real life. My stomach sank as I saw the creature. It looks like the modern alien... a grey human with a long face and large black eyes. It gave off an eery glow. Anyway, my friend Boltach raised his weapon and fired. He hit the being in the head with a short controlled burst. A brilliant blue syrupy fluid splattered the trees behind the alien. Just then we saw a dull light in the sky. Back then, we had a device called a Starlight scope. Only special operations had them. It is a lot like night vision. I focused in on the light in the sky and at that moment two more lights appeared. They formed the shape of a perfect triangle. The light at the top circled the two below in a figure 8 and zipped off. The remaining two seemed to collide and both zip off in the same direction as the first light. That night two other LRRP teams in our AO (area of operations)reported in the same activities. We called into HQ and they said they were having radio problems and would be offline for the rest of the night. We linked up with the other 2 teams for security reasons and shared our encounter with them. 4 of the other men with me on my team that night were later killed in various engagements in the war and I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone from the other teams. Only me and Levin are still around. I hope you can come up with other stories and vets who have reporting UFOs in the Nam. Out.

In Viet Nam night sky, watched object move zig zag across sky then shoot straight up and disappear.

I was serving in the Army in Viet Nam in 1967 and was in the field at Dakto attached to the 4th Infantry Division providing radio relay and carrier support as part of a detached team from the 167 Signal Company. In all of these years, I have never reported this event nor told many people about it. I am retired now, but had a long career in public service and can be vouched for by many for being a conservative, level headed and highly credible individual.

I stepped out of the shower (directly to the outdoors as the shower was simply a wood frame with a 55 gal drum on top filled with water and a spigit to release the water) late in the evening so it was dark (and almost no ambient light in the Viet Nam boondocks) and the night sky highly visible with no cloud cover. The Viet Nam night sky is almost devoid of stars except for a few scattered along the northern horizon and the moon was either not out or not bright. In that type of setting, I always look up at the sky as I do anywhere I have a good view of the night sky. I am a habitual night sky watcher, but not in any amateur astronomer sense, rather just looking at the stars and the Milky Way when I am where I can see them and watching for satellites (I think having been able to watch Sputnik pass overhead when I was in high school had something to do with that).

When I looked up, all that was in the sky was an object that was about 40 degrees above the northern horizon at about my 2:00 o’clock as I stood facing northwest. The object looked the way a satellite looks in the night sky in terms of size, shape and reflected light, but that is not what is was. Rather than moving in a straight line across the sky (although satellites can look a little wobbly at times, which this did not) it was moving in a sharp zig zag pattern, while at the same time making forward progress at a rate much slower than a satellite moves across the sky. Although the forward progress was not fast, its sig zag movements were very quick. The sig zag movement was very sharp and precise in the distance it moved right to left and in the angle it moved forward with each sig and zag. This movement was not erratic in any sense of the word nor was the object wandering in any way.

Although the object moved side-to-side in a sig zag movement, its forward progress was in a straight line across the sky, moving from my right towards my left. I stood and watched the object for about ten to fifteen minutes. During that period of time, the object moved from about my 2:00 o’clock to about my 12:30 and was now around 70 degrees above the horizon. In that period of time, a satellite would have traveled all of the way across the sky and disappeared (actually in much less time). This was no satellite. As the object reached about my 12:30, it suddenly stopped and then shot straight up into the sky at an incredible rate of speed and just disappeared.

I stood there for a minute in sort of a dumbstruck daze before walking back to my tent. I have no idea what I saw, but had a strong feeling that I had observed something that was not from this world. I didn’t say anything about it to anyone and as I said above, have hardly ever spoken of it to anyone in all of these years. But I have long wanted to report what I witnessed (and unfortunately I was alone with no others near at the time) and so I now have (and also to MUFON). If it is possible, it would be great to hear back any thoughts regarding my report.

Submerged light under aircraft carrier

This is a second hand report from a retired military fighter pilot. I'm not sure if you'd want to post this but I thought you might be interested in at least reading about it. If you are interested in learning more, you can contact me and I could also contact the pilot directly and see if he'd be interested in talking to you.

I was talking to a Vietnam veteran who flew F-4 Phantoms off of a carrier in the Vietnam war.

One evening he was assigned to a carrier defence flight to ensure no enemy aircraft got close to the carrier group. When flying past the carrier, it was suddenly lit from below the water by a very bright light.

He was commanded to circle and observe the light. The initial theory was that a Soviet sub was under the carrier and was somehow shining a light up at them; playing games with them.

After about a minute though, the light took off through the water still submerged.

They and another jet followed above for about 20 seconds when suddenly the light left the water (not sure if they saw the shape) and took off straight up into the air and vanished.

When back on board the carrier, all personnel were commanded to never mention the incident.

Saw UFO when in Viet Nam..no doubt about it.

Low ceiling that night, maybe 2-300 ft. I was driving coffee to K-9 post. Saw orangish object slowly decend and move forward at same time. Very bright. Directly in center of base. Just hovered after a bit and then disappeared. I got on the radio to other k-9 handlers and most said they saw it. Checked with tower and they saw nothng..ya right!

This object did have a glow but you could tell there was something solid there as well.

I was raised in the Air force, I knew planes and helicopters. This was not any such thing. No noise either.

Since then I have not forgotten it and never will. 32 years as a police offier, now retired and quite sane and intelligent.

Have been watching the UFO things on Natl Geographic and always wanted to tell someone about what i saw and wish I had back then but know it would have done no good.

I know it's old information..but as God as my witness, it happened. I know what I saw

The object with its bright light bounced up and down over the flightline like a bouncing ball,and had no engine sound.

I was a loadmaster on C-130A aircraft shuttling out of Camh Rahn Bay, South Vietnam in 1966. I was standing outside of the little barracks hut around 0300 hours awaiting the arrival of the motor pool to transport me to the flight line for a 0600 departure. As I stood there waiting for the motor pool to arrive, I saw in the distance what I thought was an aircaft coming in to the base for a landing. Usually, I would not have taken much notice of this because I had seen many different aircraft night landings. But because this aircraft (object) had what I thought was a larger than normal white landing light, and was approaching the runway at an unusually slow speeed and wavering in such a manner as if though it were flying through a rough air pocket, I began to take notice of its approach. Also, I could not hear any sound coming from the its engine. I was certain that this aircraft was going to crash before it could land.

My first reaction was that this object was a helicopter, and the helicopter had lost engine power and was trying to make the runway to land. But, as the object appeared over the runway, it just stopped completely in mid air and didin't move for what seemed like two to three minutes. The bright light was still shinning but I still could not hear any sound from the engine.

All of a sudden, the object started bouncing up and down like a bouncing ball. This bouncing lasted for about 5 seconds. Then the object stopped bouncing and became stationary for about two seconds. And, in another split second the object hurled itself about about 25 yards to its left and began bouncing up and down again for another five seconds.

The object then again stopped bouncing and remained stationary for about two seconds. And again, in a split second, hurled itself seemingly back to where it had stopped in the beginning, and began again bouncing up and down. But this time as the object bounced, it seemed to stop abruptly in mid-bounce (as if it had just noticed that I was watching it), and in another split second shot upwards into the atmosphere as if it had been shot out of a cannon. It ascended upwards at maybe a 50 or 60 degree angle and at a speed faster than any aircraft I had ever seen before.

I stood there for approximately three or four minutes and watched the bright light on this object ascend into the atmosphere and grow smaller and smaller until it became smaller than the few stars that were in the sky and finally disappearing from my view.

Unseen craft overhead blasts North Vietnam Junks, saving numerous American lives.

Sighting #2: I spent years on a ship (in plotting) during the Viet Nam era (1966 to 1968), where I used all available equipment to track and plot each aircraft over and off Viet Nam soil. This sighting was in 1966, not sure what month.

One time I swear someone (or something) saved our guys on four River Gun Boats (three man crews) when around 0300 they did their best to hold five North Vietnam Junks full of guns and explosives until the sun came up so they could check them for weapons and such and to also take prisoners. I was on duty on the Bridge with my Flak Jacket and Helmet when suddenly just before the sun came up all hell broke loose. The Junks all began to fire at the River Boats (at me too). The River Boat crews held their own as best they could, but I saw several of the crew hit badly during the fire fight.

All of the sudden four of the five Junks were blown out of the water by some unseen friend overhead. They just exploded into oblivion, no residual left. I saw only one flash, what looked like a lightning bolt, hit a Junk and it exploded. I hit the deck when bullets from the junks started hitting all around my head. The last Junk gave up quickly, and our ship took credit for the save. I saw it! I know we did not do it, but since truth is stranger than fiction I left it at that. Thank you friends whoever you were. You saved our guys.

Unfortunately, all I have to offer is my word, no pics. I had pics, though not of the unseen craft that fired on the Junks. I took pics because that was part of my job to document the firing activity of our ship, but we were never allowed to keep a private camera (because of what we saw daily with the Russians). The only pics I had were OKd by the raining head of Naval Security Headquarters at ComSecGruAct West Pacific Station, Yokosuka, Japan. Wish I had hidden a few rolls, they were something to see.

I attest to this as fact, and to other sightings during various conflict actions during the years 1966 and 1968 in and around the Viet Nam conflict area when I served aboard a U.S. Naval vessel. When on duty in Plotting I saw numerous blips on my screens that we all knew were not our aircraft and had no idea who’s they were. I assume some of these blips were our unseen friends who saved our guys. I know there are other military personnel who can also attest to such happenings during this same period because being Naval Security I heard the stories. I hope they have the courage to come forward as I just have and risk being humiliation.

Craft was seen at about 22:00 hours in the combat area none as I Corps. This ia about 50 miles outside of Da nang. The craft was hugh. there was no sound other than a rushing wind which reached the ground. The craft was heard 5 min. befor it reached us. It was a clear moon light sky was easily seen. There was no lights what so every. we were all armed yet not a shot was fired. The craft was clearly in our free kill zone. It was traveling no more than 5 to 8 miles per hour and was about 200 feet off the ground. it was reported to the officer in charge who said forget it we got other things to be concerned with. this is the first time I have reported this oyher than the night it happened. The craft was about 75 feet in diam.
