Cylindrical UFO

I was driving and noticed a gray cylindrical object hovering in the sky, not too far off the ground. It had a light on each side of the craft. It was the size of a large SUV. I pulled up under it, got out of my car to observe it and it instantly took off into the sky in a tremendous speed.
