Cruise, unusual lights

Sitting on the balcony and watching stars I noticed a light appearing brighter then immediately disappeared. My husband and I continued watching and noticed another light appear closer to the horizon line. It also became brighter before disappearing. A third light would appear and at times all the lights were in a large triangle formation. Then they all would disappear. A cluster of lights would also appear but dimmer than the others. It appeared that they were moving around and then disappeared as well. This continued for little less than an hour before all the lights were gone.

20 plus craft sighted at the rear of the ship heading to my right, visually they were Shimmering green fluorescent looking, they were cloaked except for when the were exposed to 2 sets of light from the moon and the sea, based on what I could comprehend it was due to these 2 sets of lights reflecting that these things were made visible, after which they disappeared when they weren't at the correct angle of light, not sure what these flying crafts were.

The way they flew looked odd one went slightly up and down with no dampening of any kind it just seemed to suddenly but immediately move from its slightly up position to its lower one and immediately stop on that elevation while maintaining its forward course with the group that being of around 20 plus crafts.

These crafts didn't seems to be flying by air due to their smooth flying and were not going fast enough for a jet, if they were a plane I've never seen one disappear like that nor appear with that shimmering green fluorescent light for a time, crafts moved as if gravity wasn't a concern due to their pattern of movement and were to fast for a standard helicopter.

Thought it was an oil rig, but it stayed with us at exact speed and did not move at all, then nav lights appeared suddenly.

I am a USAF veteran. 1981-1991. I was a crew chief on C141 aircraft. My wife and I were on a flight from Vancouver BC to Bangkok Thailand. We were on Canada Airlines somewhere near where I marked your map. I could not sleep and was at the window seat left side of aircraft behind the wing several rows. The only thing visible to me outside was the left wing with blinking navigation lights. When I looked out I noticed 3 really bright white solid lights that I assumed must be an oil rig in the ocean because it seemed to be stable and not moving but well lit. After a couple of minutes I realized the lights were not moving a behind us as they would if they were on the ocean. The lights stayed in sync with us exactly. That caught my attention so I looked at our navigation system on the airplane to see where we were, altitude and speed. I think we were going around 600mph and somewhere around 36,000 feet altitude. So I am trying to understand why the lights below us never faded away but stayed in the exact same place. So I am now wide awake trying to make logical sense of the lights. The 3 white lights were in a triangle pointing in the direction we were flying and never were moving. After watching the lights for about 15-20 minutes between the 2 white lights in the rear of the triangle a BRIGHT gold light, not gold colored light but metallic gold colored light started illuminating. Really got my attention and I looked around to see if anyone else was seeing this. Everyone else seemed to be sleeping and I did not have a phone to record it. About 2 minutes passed and then a red navigation light right in front leading white light started to blink. This totally surprised me because then it seemed to be something a lot closer to us, like another airplane. I would guess 500-1000 feet lower than us. I couldn’t make out a shape of aircraft but I could see the red light was slightly higher than the gold and white lights. With all lights illuminated now it moved from the left side of our aircraft underneath us towards the right side. It was the middle of the night and most everyone was asleep so I stayed in my seat and lost sight of it from there. Just can’t stop playing this over and over again in my mind so I thought I would at least report the sighting.

Flying from xianyang airport to London I was taking photos from the window and the object was moving fast in a weird pattern.

Sunday the 8th of September I was flying back from Xianyang airport to London Heathrow taking some photos of the cloud formations. Immediately an almost transparent object caught my eye, moving very quickly in the opposite direction to us in a strange pattern. It was moving too fast to be an aircraft and wasn't a weather balloon. In regards to it's shape it almost looked like a cell, ive never seen anything like it before.

Up to six satellite appearing lights under and to west of Big Dipper tail

I am a major airline Captain. We were flying from the Dominican to NY very late at night. Moonless over the Atlantic with clear skies. Ahead of us was the Big Dipper in the north sky. Below the tail of the Dipper and a little to the west we watched up to seven of what looked like satellites dance for hours. Occasionally making discernible patterns that looked like docking. They would go bright and dim. At first I thought maybe they were military and off the coast of the US. But we didn't make up any relative ground on them for hours which makes me think they must be space born. I would have accepted many different explanations until two of them just went up. And up. And up. And up. Eventually disappearing into the high dark stars. The others remained in the same location by the Big Dipper and were still visible as we made our descent into JFK, eventually losing sight of them.

Multiple lights at high altitude observed “dogfighting” or “chasing” at high speeds with irregular courses

At approximately 0300 PST, seated on the port side of a United 777 en route from Kona, Hawaii to Denver, still a couple of hours west of the West Coast, I observed first two and then three orb-like lights to the north, either at approximately the same altitude at a great distance (possibly dozens of miles or more) or perhaps lower if they were closer and very small.

At first I thought they might be starlink flares as they were initially fading in and out as those might be expected to do, but I rapidly became confused as I was able to track individual orbs completing obvious non-orbital maneuvers including tight circles, swoops, and vertical climbs. The orbs appeared at several points to be “chasing” or “dogfighting” each other. Colors were mostly white but with occasional subtle shifts to pale orange. The lights were solid but individuals would occasionally fade into the dark before becoming visible again, sometimes after changing course. I got the impression that the lights were very distant, but that means the speeds involved would have been extreme — I routinely observe satellites including starlink from my lanai in Kona and these lights were apparently moving much more rapidly, as well as visibly changing direction and velocity.

I alerted my seatmate, a stranger with whom I had been chatting about fishing earlier, that I thought there may be other aircraft in the area, but I did not understand what I was seeing. He looked and (I believe) caught a brief glimpse but also could not offer an explanation. I continued watching for several minutes and then lost sight of the lights and shut my window shade.

Approximately 20 minutes later my seat mate somewhat anxiously asked me if I could still see the lights so I reopened the window shade and was almost immediately able to observe one orb, now slightly lower in the sky, perform a J-shaped dive and climb maneuver to slightly above our altitude before fading out.

At this point I told my fellow passenger that yes, I could still see them but they did not appear to be getting any closer, which was somewhat comforting. I continued looking for another 10 minutes or so thereafter but did not see the lights again.

I witnessed the bright light move across the sky. It changed speed and direction and was in view for about 45 seconds to a min.

I was on my room balcony of the Cruise ship at around 6:30 a.m. on 12/29/23. I was on the right side of the ship. I just happened to look up at the sky and witnessed a bright star like dot. It was bigger than what a star would appear like. I'm looking toward the front of the ship at about a 45 degree angle. I figured it would continue its straight course but after about 5 seconds I started to notice a change. It's speeds did vary and it turned around and briefly flew the opposite direction for a brief second. It was as if it saw something and needed to do a double check on what it saw. Then it came back and continued on its original flight path. This figure appeared to be far away and was moving almost over me and proceeded to continue across the sky till I could no longer see it. This was not a shooting star or a space satellite.

Objects at very high altitude (greater than 50,000' MSL) maneuvering and emitting white light that gradually varied from bright to dim

Viewed from the flight deck of a Boeing 767 at 35,000 ft. White lights at a much higher altitude while traveling east at night. The lights maneuvered at various altitudes from our 11-12 clock position. Estimate minimum altitude of 40,000 ft and maximum of 70,000 ft. Lights would start out dim, gradually increase in intensity to very bright, then gradually dim again, then disappear. These lights would change direction, climb, and descend. At times, 4 were visible at once. We observed these phenomenon for approximately 1 hour while traveling at 450 knots, so difficult to estimate the distance.

Viewed the same phenomenon in the same area of the Pacific ocean on December 5, 2024. The circumstances and details of observation were generally the same. This previous observation lasted for about 45 minutes.

Flew from north to south going much faster than our cruise ship was traveling.

Looking to the east from our ships balcony. Object appeared north of us as bright "fireworks". Flew in and out of clouds gaining on the ship. When it was right in front of us, the colors faded and a grey metallic cylinder appeared. Nose of it was shaking from the friction of its entry into the atmosphere with white "trailings" coming from it.. It passed us flying behind a cloud and that's it. No splashdown, no noise ... we never saw it again. Probably 100's of miles from us, yet to us it was the size of a planes fuselage as they land a block from us where we live right by an airport, sans the wings and deafening noise of a jets engine . We thought we were getting attacked and neither of us thought of actually getting a video of it. I've contacted a government agency that deals with rockets and they told me to let you know.. Description of circumstance? Star lit sky with intermittent clouds. 2 sober and straight old ( 55 and 66) ladies enjoying looking east from our balcony on a cruise ship. Light from our room was on, so it was not hard to see the water, thousands of stars and partial moon every now and then. Whole encounter took no more than 2 mins.picture is the sky in front of us. Two lights that went from dim to absolutely bright then disappeared .

On Aug. 11th, 2023, at approximately 9:55pm, my wife, daughter and myself were settling in for the night on our last night of our Carnival Panorama cruise. I stepped out on to our stateroom balcony to enjoy the last night's fresh air on the ocean before coming back in to Long Beach, CA to end our 7 day cruise to Mexico. I had been on the balcony for only about 2 minutes when I saw the first light. We were traveling north and were a few miles off the coast in deep water (approx. 12,000 ft according to the cruise TV channel). Our stateroom was on the land side of the Carnival Panorama ship. The light showed up about 3 fingers width above line of sight as we were stationed on the 6th deck of the ship. So the light was far above the horizon. It seemed too far away to see a definitive shape. Just lights is all we saw. The first light I saw started out dim, almost not visible to the naked eye. Then it got much brighter and bigger like it was coming towards us. Then, all of a sudden, that super bright light just disappeared faster than it came. But then, a few seconds later, the light showed up again acting as it did the first time I saw it. I was trying to debunk these lights as planes or possible ships. But the movement of these lights didn't fit with how planes act. I, at first, thought well we are a few miles off the coast, maybe it's a plane going in for a landing in Mexico, as we were still south of the border on Baja California Spur. I figured maybe the plane went in to a bank of clouds for a few seconds and reappeared. However, these lights were changing location each time from west and east and back again. Once, the lights showed up further west of original sighting then, much farther east of original sighting. Now, during the second sighting, another light appeared behind the first and acted the same way. Came in to being out of nowhere and got astonishingly bright with the other, then just disappeared. During the second sighting, I turned and opened the door to our stateroom from the balcony and told my wife that I may be seeing UFO's and asked her to come look. There was nothing for what seemed an eternity so I started feeling really dumb. But then, the lights showed up again, further to the east and my wife saw them this time. We watched as these lights went from dim to super bright and just disappear. This happened 3 more times after my wife had come out but one of the lights disappeared and only one was visible during the last 3 times. And each time, was in a different place in the sky and not as bright as the first 2 times. My daughter finally came out to see what was going on but they were gone by the time she showed up. This all happened in about a 4‐5 minute time frame. I tried to get pics and video but with light distortion from the ship, I can't see it on the video. I kept thinking that maybe it was planes but there were no clouds that could've blocked the lights and also they moved multiple directions in a very short time frame to be planes. I'm hoping others on the cruise with us saw them too.

Airline Pilot sighting of UAP over international waters with photos and videos

July 28, 2023, I departed Santo Domingo DR at 2305 destine for New York JFK. My route of flight was L453 in NY Oceanic airspace, non radar hundreds of miles offshore. At approximately 1 hour into the flight as we were approaching the southern boundary of the NY oceanic airspace, and at 32,000 feet, I called out a visual on traffic that was excessively bright and looked like about 80 miles range... and then the light I saw as traffic disappeared visually. I never saw the traffic on TCAS. Then a few minutes later I saw two objects round in shape, one lighted and one not lighted flying in a formation just above the horizon, at a range I guessed of 120-200 NM. The lights would appear and then disappear. This went on for the remaining 3 hours of my flight to NY on L453 in Oceanic airspace. The objects seemed to fly in formation in an orbital pattern. The first time I saw the objects I would estimate their altitude to be below mine (32,000'), but as the flight continued northbound, and the objects continued to illuminate ever 2- 10 minutes their altitude and distence appeared to get higher and farther away. After about 2.5 hours and as you can see in the photos, the objects appeared to be in space.

At one point in the video I took you can see another airplane on L453 southbound 3000 feet above us (we were on an oceanic offset) an at the same time in the frame of the video you can see the object illuminate.

I have the brand new Samsung S23 phone which has the best camera on the market for a cell phone and I started recording this object in video. I have a great 7 min video of it appearing and disappearing while I was talking to other airliners on 123.45 vhf about it. You can hear that conversation in the video! Another airliner approximately 400 NM ahead of us at 36,000 feet stated they saw the same thing.

I also took about 30 photos of these objects in "night mode" on the phone and they came out really good... in one of them you can actually see the lighted object and the unlit object very clearly as round UFO's. All of the photos were taken with some sort of long exposure setting to be able to get as much light as possible to the sensor... You will be able to see in the long exposure photos the stars are pins of light but the UFO's are streaks of light because they are moving!

I am an airline captain with 30 years of aviation experience and would consider myself an expert on viewing and identifying flying objects. I have seen thousands of satellites, rockets, stars, meteors, weather balloons, mylar balloons, and other airplanes, civilian and military while flying. I can with all certainty confirm these objects, their shape, movement, location, illumination, and range are like nothing I have ever seen before.

I was sitting on the balcony when the black night sky turned pink and this object appeared. There were people outside but not sure if anyone else reported it. I caught the photo as I was shooting photos of the storm.

Light from the east moving at incredible speed, then comes to dead stop.

I was sitting on the patio outside my cabin just after dusk. The ship was moving south and i was on the port side on floor 9. My eyes caught a white light moving east to west. It was 15-20 degrees above the horizon and moving at an amazing speed in line with the horizon. I am a private pilot and live 15 miles from Luke AFB. See fighter jets all the time. Have never seen anything move this fast. And light suddenly stopped completely. It sat still for maybe a second. Then slowly went straight up and back to the east. It was gone from sight in a split second. I cannot possibly emphasize the speed it was moving
when it came to a complete stop. I would be amazed if the crew on the bridge did not see it as it would have been right on their port view. I have replayed this in my head a thousand times. Never seen anything like this. Thank you.

Light moved left to right and back again. A second light peeled off from the first at great speed then remained in the vicinity. Both lights moved left and right, slowly faded from view. Other aircraft were contacted and they confirmed the same sighting.

Transparent orb with object in it's center sighted over the Pacific South of the Aleutian Islands.

On January 19, 2023 at approximately 17:15 Zulu just before sunrise we were piloting an A330-900 flying at M.83 from HND to SEA at FL370. Approaching 49N160W (from 48N170W) we spotted a semi transparent spherical orb above us and slightly to our left. In the center of the orb there was an object that was either reflective or admitting a small amount of light. Initially it looked like we were going to fly under the object. But, instead of getting closer the object started to move farther away from us, it moved in a straight line from NNW to SSE in front of us before it accelerated in and disappeared into the horizon to the south.

I saw a black bar in the clouds then as it came closer it turned on its side to face the plane.

My seat was 4E and my husband 4F next to the window. I saw this black bar and initially thought that I was imagining it so I keep looking and the bar increased in length as it neared the plane. As my husband was eating and is hard of hearing I did not interrupt him and I did not want to be distracted from looking. When it turned on it's side, I could see that it was at least a third of the size of the plane, at a guess. The full view only lasted about 10 seconds then it turned back so it only looked like a black bar and continued to travel away from the plane to the rear. It looked like a black smudge as it was leaving. The captain and his second came out of the cockpit as we were departing but unfortunately I did not ask him if he saw it too but I do believe that the both of the pilots MUST have seen it. I have tried to contact the airline but that was impossible and I tried to contact other agencies without success. I could see no windows/openings, no propulsion devices, no lights just the structure of the vehicle. If you could contact the pilot that would be great.

Saw two lights performing rapid movement ascent and sharp right turn.

The following is a description of a UAP sighting I experienced on Aug. 16, 2022 at approximately 8 P. M. PST. My husband and I were returning from a vacation on the Big Island, Hawaii. Our flight took us from Kona to Cincinnati, OH by way of Denver, CO. I was seated next to the window on the port side of the airplane, so I was looking north. The sun had set, and there was very little residual color left in the sky. I am guessing we were about a hundred miles west of the California coastline, so we had flown approximately 2200 miles of our trip.

I saw a ball-shaped light larger than a star but smaller than the full moon. It was as bright as a car headlight as seen a mile away. It ascended rapidly, no pause, then made a sharp, ninety-degree turn to the right, proceeded a distance and vanished. Another object of similar description joined the first object and repeated the maneuver. This was repeated several times. The two objects did these motions together. Each maneuver lasted 1-2 sec. There was a rest time of 5-6 sec at the end of the maneuver and then it started again. These objects were too far away for me to detect any details. They were extremely bright of a whitish-yellow color. Also, the horizon was very indistinct as low clouds were concealing it; therefore, I could not tell if the objects were emerging from land or from water.

I do not think any conventional aircraft could make such maneuvers, nor do I believe these were some sort of balloon or flares. The only conclusion was that they were UAPs.

Interesting to note, but completely subjective, of course, I felt an immediate mental connection to the craft which was totally unanticipated. It was as though we were on the same “wavelength.” I felt I had to govern my mental state so as not to draw the UAPs to the airplane.

Was on the upper decks of Carnival Horizon when I noticed an object following the ship. It then flew in zig zag direction and flew off.

Was on the upper decks of the Carnival Horizon when I noticed an object following the ship. It was below the clouds and behind the ship. Suddenly the object shot above the clouds to about the same hight as a commercial plane and changed into a glowing disk which began zigzagging in completely different directions at speeds Ive never seen. I grew up In Colorado between the Air Force Academy and Bukley Air Force base and saw many types of military planes at high speeds but never have I ever seen anything like this. This definitely wasn’t a plane/drone and was silent. We were midway between Jamaica and the Cayman Islands just south of Cuba. I caught the glowing disk on camera but because of lighting I can’t see it but It can be filtered. I shortened the video to where the object was a glowing disk above us zigzagging. It was eerily following our ship and once it got to close it dipped out.

Orb flying sporadically a few hundred yards off of our cruise ship.

There was 3 of us on the top deck of our cruise ship when we noticed an orb flying pretty close to our ship. It definitely was not a reflection of the cruise ship and it never touched the water for the 20-30 minutes we watched it. We asked crew members cleaning the deck if they had any idea but they were dumbfounded. It looked like it was patrolling or scanning the surface.

Silver (with some dark grey) structure

While flying between SFO and KOA over the Pacific Ocean at apprx mid flight and cruising altitude, I saw a silver object at approx eye level. The simplest way to describe its general shape is that of the profile of the top half of the Seattle space needle but in silver color. Again I am describing this as a general shape. But it was predominately silver and some darker grey-silver too. I was scared when I saw it, I closed the window shade and then felt compelled to open it again and see it again a second time. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. It just appeared stationary not flying up or down. I was really scared and just closed the window and tried to forget about.
