Strange green object seen hovering over the Caribbean Sea.

On April 8, 2017, I was standing on an open deck of a cruise ship headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico, from Grenada in the Caribbean Sea. At 5:28 PM, EST, I began taking pictures of the sunset over the ocean. I continued to take numerous photos until 6:31 PM.

Later that evening as I was reviewing my photos, I was shocked to see an object in a frame that was taken at 6:16 PM. It appeared to be hovering on the water. It was iridescent green, hat shaped, and upon zooming in on the picture I could see bump like ridges. In subsequent frames, but not all, it appeared again higher up in the sky in different positions - several times in an orb shape, and once changing shape to what I would describe as a three quarter uneven circle with clear indentations.

I showed the photos to the ship’s photographer in search of a logical explanation, thinking it must have been a lens flash from my camera. But he explained that it did not have the characteristics of same or any reflection from the sun when it appeared on the water, as it was a distinct shape. Additionally, I showed the photos to a ship’s officer. He replied that it looked alien in nature.

The next morning I heard that some fellow passengers were baffled over observing something that seemed to be “darting” over the ocean the night before but they could not capture it on film.

Sunday – April 16, 2017, 8:00 PM, EST, AHC (American Heroes Channel) aired a program called “UFOs: The Lost Evidence.” The entire segment was devoted to the theory, supported by evidence, some from the military, that the oceans are used as bases for UFOs. Two images shown in the television segment resembled two of my photos. One was the hat shape with ridges. Another was an object found on the bottom of the ocean suspected to be a spacecraft – that shape resembled one of my photos of the object when it was in the sky.

NUFORC Note:

The source of this report attempted to send photos to NUFORC, but they do not open, or perhaps were deleted from the e-mail. We have requested that she try again. We wonder whether the green objects may have been so-called "lens flares," caused by pointing a camera at a bright source of light. PD

A bright orange-red sphere, like Sun, raised above the ocean, stayed on 5 degrees for a minute, and slid back down.

On the board of a cruise ship going from Panama Canal to Fort Lauderdale,FL, in the cabin with a window at the Starboard side (so, on the West or the North side of the sky). When I woke up at the middle of the night, sometime from 1am to 5 am, I saw a big bright orange-red sphere rising quickly from the water. The first thought was, how strange it is, the Sun that seems big and moving a little bit fast, is rising but the sky around is still remaining absolutely dark! The bright orange-red sphere raised about 5-10 degrees over horizon, stayed there from 30 seconds to a 1 minute, and then slid back down to the ocean.

3 underwater UFO light objects sighted off the coast of Mexaco near Cozumel.

I was approx. 30 mi. off the coast of Mexaco (between Mexaco and Cuba). It was 0300 Mexaco time. I looked out of the port hole in my state room and saw 3 what appeared to be lights in a straight line just below the water surface. I made sure all the lights in my state room were off because I wanted to eliminate any reflections. They were keeping pace with the ship and right below my port hole window. After approx. 10 min. they began to head away from the ship as if to go around the bow. I was on the starboard side of the ship and we were headed north by north/east. They headed tword the horizon at 45degrees away from the ship and they were still under water. As they got closer to the horizon I lost sight of them. I continued to look tword the direction they were headed. All of a sudden I saw three lights above the horizon and they were going straight up. They continued to climb straight up for I would say approx. 5000' or 10,000' then they did a hard 90degree left turn parallel the horizon. When I saw then turn the first thing that crossed my mind was "come back". When I thought this the three lights (in a straight line) reversed direction at a very rapid speed. The lights then formed a perfect triangle as they appeared to gain altitude from the previous turn. They dissapeared after making the triangle pattern. The time between the hard left turn, and the triangle dissapearing was approx. 25 to 30 seconds. The total time I saw these lights was 25min.

My wife and I were on the balcony of a cruise ship cabin, stargazing on a very clear night. My wife said,"did you see that?" I hadn't seen anything but as I looked to the sky where se pointed we both saw a "star" shoot laterally across the sky. It could have be some sort of wierd meteor at that point, but then it made a brief series of very precise straight line maneuvers (kind of zig zag like) and disappear.

NUFORC Note:

Witness indicates that the duration of the sighting was approximately 45 seconds. A meteor, almost certainly, would not have laster that long. PD

Object seemed very large, perhaps 20 to 35 miles distance from us. Object moving exceptionally fast across sky, perhaps 6000 - 10000ft in altitude. Object than dissapated or became distant and disappeared.

Lights in the sky over Curacao

The 4 of us were on vacation this last week in Curacao, a Carribean island approx. 50+ miles off the coast of Venezuela. We were staying on the east/south east side of the island. Sitting on the beach at about 10-10:30 pm we all four noticed what we thought were 2 falling stars traveling downward from north-west to east-south-east at approximately a 50-60 degree angle. We watched these white stars/lights fall for several (5-8)seconds, long enough for everyone to comment how cool it was to see 2 falling stars at the same time traveling parrell to one another. Then, faster than I have ever seen any object in the sky move before, these 2 light-objects simultaneously changed direction and headed upward (south) at approximately a 120+ degree angle, "bowed-out" away from each other then joined back parallell to each other, then in what was literally a blink of an eye the lower-left object shot outward (east) at an approximate 95-110 degree angle away from the 2nd object, then both objects were gone. As the four of us were discussing what we'd just witnessed and debating what the objects could have been, a single light came out of the sky from the south heading northward and shot across the sky in a waivering-undulating pattern.

I am a 44 y/o man who works for a major telecommunications corportation as a Corporate Account Manager, my wife is 43 y/o and works in accounting for a fortune 500 company, my best friend is a 38 y/o professional real-estate agent and his wife is a 44 y/o registered nurse. None of us has ever witnessed anything like this before in our lives or know of anyone else who has. We all agree that these lights/objects traveled and moved at speeds, patterns, and angles much differently from anything we have ever seen before.

I was on carnival cruise ship sensation departing from tampa to cozemel. The second night of the cruiae my friend and I were on the deck and he said he just saw a shooting star but it was very unusual because it didnt have a tail. I didnt think to much of it because it was very clear that night. About five minuts later I looked up and saw three white lights to the south. They formed a triangle. It was very hard to tell how far away it was. They stayed stationary for a few seconds then moved rapidly to the east and went out of sight. Never seem anything like this. has anyone else on this cruise seen the same thing?

Multi-light triangle shaped UFO over Caribbean Ocean, as viewed from a cruise ship.

The following is an account of a real UFO sighting from the balcony of a cruise ship in the Caribbean in 2002. I’m not sure why I have waited this long to file this report, but once an ardent skeptic of most UFO tales, everything changed on a late summer night in the Atlantic Ocean. So although late in arriving, here is my story: On August 27, 2002, while cruising aboard the ship Carnival Pride, I woke up from a deep sleep, only to find myself oddly sitting on the edge of the bed, facing our cabin’s patio door. The drapes were drawn. I do not know what alerted me to arise from my sleep, nor can I explain what prompted me to go out onto the cabins private balcony that early morning. It was approximately 2:30 am. As I stepped out onto the balcony, I moved forward to the balcony railing. Our ship was roughly 200 miles out from land, with the first destination stop, being Half Moon Cay, Carnival’s private island. Our cabin was positioned on the port side of the ship, facing west, traveling in a southerly direction.

At first glance I was drawn to the front of ship, as the moon was out and nearly visible through a small bank of clouds. The illumination of the moon cascaded over the dark blue pristine waters below. Then I proceeded to glance upwards, staring straight port side. To my amazement I spotted a very large cluster of multicolored lights. One light appeared to be very bright and white at its center, while a series of smaller individual lights of blue, green and red surrounded it. I can’t be sure, but it appeared very much as if its shape were triangular.

My best guess is that it was approximately 70 degrees off horizon and its scale, although difficult to determine would have covered a bald fist at arms length. By this determination, I gather that this object was very large and probably close. It did not move or make a sound. It merely hovered. A very slight misty cloud obscured about 25% of the visible object. It took a few minutes for my brain to register what it was seeing. I watched it for about 10 seconds. I was stunned! It definitely was not a plane. It was also unlikely a helicopter, especially given the distance from any land mass.

I must admit, despite the initial state of shock, I was quite proud of myself, in that I immediately recognized the rare nature of this observance and quickly took action. It registered with me, that only a photo or a video of this object, would exonerate me of any embellishment, should I choose to share this unbelievable sight with another. So the following actions occurred within the frame work of 7-9 seconds: I quickly remembered I had left our camera bag, just inside the patio door, on the floor, out of the way of the normal traffic aisle. The small quarters of our cabin made this a logical storage place. Coincidentally, it would also offer me the shortest distance in retrieving the cameras and film this object. As I turned to open the door, I placed one foot inside our cabin, keeping my other foot outside, thereby propping the door open. I reached in for our video camera and as I backpedaled to the open balcony railing again, I opened the lens case, activated the camera, all at the same time. This is why I reference the time frame of 7-9 seconds. Why is this important? It will become perfectly clear with my next testimonial.

As I swung the camera upwards and toward the direction of the object, to my utter dismay, it was gone. It had simply vanished. I couldn’t believe it. Only a few seconds had passed. I was however, not deterred. I noticed off in the distance, a very small but bright light. At first I thought it might be a planet, such as Mars, which as I recall, was highly visible in the Western sky at that time of the year. I still decided to zoom in and film it, in the event it might have been what I watched in total astonishment a few seconds earlier, and twenty-times larger! I took nearly two minutes of video. I used the railing cap to steady my camera. While I realize, that a digital camera, zoomed to a near infinite range, can cause square pixilation’s and that some subjects, illuminating brightly as a source, can create false images, such as a rainbow effect with twinkles of various colored lights; what I saw, was something far different. It seemed to have a single image of light, countered by the surprise emergence of a second (different) colored light from behind. Then a third colored light. I don’t think Mars would react that way.

At that point, I felt I had recorded a sufficient amount of tape to make a convincing case for something obviously unidentified as nothing short of an unexplained, unidentified flying object (UFO). It was now time to wake up my wife. While keeping our two children sleeping, I would soon add a second set of eyes, in a sanity check, to see if I was imagining the whole thing. I went inside our cabin and awoke her. Despite her groggy state, like a good trooper, she trudged out on the balcony with me, to add an equal witness to this sighting. While she manned (woman) a set of binoculars, I continued to film the subject. Once again and much more clearly, a red object immerged from behind the larger brighter object, as if hovering or orbiting around it.

The mystery only became more bizarre, as within minutes of the sighting, a group of three ships floating on the water, off in the distance, suddenly appeared. I know for certain that they were not there before. After discovering them, my film shows at least one of them floating on the surface.

To conclude, I can only surmise the following: Did (what ever it was) possess some artificial intelligence that flagged it of my observing presence on deck? If so, did it react by speeding away at an incredible rate (as I’ve heard of, in other cases) to avoid a video camera image that clearly would have rivaled the one I eventually captured? To film it at maybe 1-2 miles away vs. perhaps 20 miles? I’ll never know. And what significance did the surprise appearance of three smaller vessels on the ocean have to do with this experience. I have enclosed snapshot pictures or frames of the video I shot. I have kept the video to myself. As of this writing, after 4 ½ years, only 6-7 other people know of our UFO encounter.

While cruising in the Caribian on a clear day my wife and self saw a strange shaped white object which seemed to change shapes as we watched. At first it looked like a white round object with a metalic looking aircraft wing sticking out from the object. I was able to get one photograph of the object which shows a white triangular wing with the metalic wing going downward from the point of the triangle. One big white circle was behind the triange. Also there was one smaller circle at the tip of one wing. We were skeptics of UFO's until this sighting. The photo is quite clear and in color. I sent the negative to The J. Allen Hynek Center for UFO Studies. I have the picture also didgetalized and can send it by Email.

Motionless eratic flashing light.

I'm a musician who was recently working on a cruise ship in the Caribean. Quite often after the gig I would go out on the crew deck and relax on one of the pool chairs. One night while looking up at the stars I noticed a flashing light from the corner of my right eye. At first I thought it was an airplane or a jet, But when I turned toward it I noticed it was a single bright amber light very high in the sky, completly motionless and flashing eraticly. I watched it for about 20 minutes and then went to bed, or I fell asleep, woke up and then went to bed. I'm not sure, but I still find it strange.

My husband and I, while traveling on our honeymoon, observed something strange following our ship just before midnight.

My new husband & I were on our honeymoon aboard the Carnival cruise ship Destiny- at sea between Cozumel and Jamaica. At approx. 11 PM after dinner we decided to walk the deck and get some fresh air. Both my husband and I are non-drinkers are sound responsible people. I suggested we go as far to the prow of the ship as allowed as the night was clear and the sea was very calm and beautiful. The upper-level deck is as far as passengers are allowed and is immediately adjacent to the game room for teen passengers. We walked to the rail and just enjoyed the nights breeze. Far off in the distance, lightning flashed and I remember even mentioning to my husband that we may get a storm during the night, but he shouldn't worry as this was his first cruise. Before long, we both noticed what appeared to be a ship sailing directly toward us and at a slight angle. Being a scuba diver, I have been at sea many times prior to this and I just thought it was a freight ship passing us in the distance. However, this proved to be very different than any thing I had ever seen. This object moved toward us with a speed not of any ship I had ever seen. Within a matter of moments, it was right aside of our cruise ship. At this time a young man, perhaps around 15 yrs old also came to the rail and asked us if we knew what we were looking at. The object hovered just outside the lights of the ship, but through the clear night a definite triagular shape could be made out. It had 3 lights which were respectively green, amber and white. My husband and I carefully considered what we were seeing. How could any ship have overtaken us so quickly? Why would any ship plot a collision course with a cruise liner. And the most damning evidence. This object made no wake and hovered next to a MOVING ship for 10 minutes or more as we all watched. A Conventional ship would have had to come right at us, made a sharp turn in close proximity to our ship and then have thrown their engines into hard reverse in order to stay exactly along side us for the! 10 minu tes or so. Our conclusion, this was not a seafaring vessel, but rather something suspended in the air. The object casually lingered right next to our ship for at least 10 minutes and long enough for several other young men to come out to watch. The kids were afraid and kept asking my husband and I if we were safe. Shortly thereafter the craft began to move slowly down the length of our vessel. My husband in tow, we walked the entire length of our ship and watched the craft glide out past the stern and out to sea. The strange lightning I had observed just before we sighted it seemed to follow it as it went. We watched as it maintained a course off into the distance from where we had just come, the lightning only seen in the vicinity of the craft. Just a word as a follow up to this. Both my husband and I are not crank cases. We are normal middle aged adults and most skeptical about these kind of phenomenon, UNTIL now. No ship could have done what this thing did or would have even wanted to get so close to a large moving cruise ship. I also noticed that the same shape craft was reported over Monterray Mexico only 2 days after we saw this. The sighting in Monterray involved police, air traffic controller and tv stations. Thank you for your time. I hope this is helpful

Saw the same object , twice, out to sea , while serving in U.S. Navy.

I was serving in the U.S. Navy at the time, serving on a destroyer. We were out to sea for at least a month when this occured. We were out in or near the Carribeans in the atlantic ocean. We had been circling in a navigation box for at least a few days with the rest of our battle group. The first incident occured when we were undergoing an unrep(taking on fuel)from a naval tanker. It was already dark and the entire crew was out on deck preparing for this unrep. I was standing on the flight deck with some of my shipmates when I noticed that the fuel tanker had an unusual amount of lights on it's mast. Lots. I just kept staring at this mast, then suddenly I noticed that some these lights separated from the rest of the mast. At first I thought it was the helo(helocopter) but our helocopter was secured inside and I could clearly see the other ships helocopter on their flight deck. Now I could see 5-6 white lights in a sort of arch formation following us. Nobody else seemed to see this. I stared at this object for at least 2 min. then I tried to tell my shipmates to look at it, but before I could finish my sentence the object turned one light off then the rest of the lights shut off in order! I thought it was so strange but I had no time to dwell on it because I had work to do.

The second incident happened a few days later when we were preping a old destroyer for target practice the next day. It was dusk and there was still light in the sky.

We were sitting dead in the water, when I came out for my watch duty at the back of the ship(fantail) My Friend came back to visit me and to have a cigarette. We were both paying attention to what our crew was doing with the old destroyer, when I turned around and saw to my right the same 5-6 white lights or orbs, in a row, not even 50-70 yards away! My friend turned around at that time and saw them too. I knew from my training that it wasn't military or commercial aircraft. The weird thing was, was that this object made no sound at all, nor was it moving in any way. I noticed that there was no mass or structure to it, just white lights or orbs an arms length apart. Please remember that it was dusk and I saw nothing but lights. I don't know how long it was there before we noticed it, but it was definately looking right at us. After about 2-3 min. of this it did the same thing again, it shut off one light(from my left) then the rest shut off in a row. Then it was just gone! Heard nothing, saw nothing. My friend freaked out and ran off leaving me there all alone to stand the rest of my watch all night. When I confronted my friend the nexy day, he refused to talk about it and ran off, clearly disturbed. It took me a few days to realize that it was the same object I seen that night we were taking on fuel. Now this is a real story, I'm not crazy, I saw what I saw. Has anybody had a similar incident, please let me know. (oh, I tried to alert operations about what I saw, but they saw no aircraft on their radar)

We were sitting dead in the water, when I came out for my watch duty at the back of the ship (fantail) My Friend came back to visit me and to have a cigarette.

3 maroon brown sphere-like objects in perfect line moving forward with 2 second interval per 'hop'.

I was a child standing on the balcony at night alone. Must have been roughly between 1980-1985.

I witnessed 3 maroon brown sphere-like objects in the sky in a perfect line one behind the other.

It made no sound. The movement was going forward in a sort of gentle hopping way with approximately two second interval per hop.

I was able to follow it for about 15-20 seconds until it was too far to follow anymore.

U.S. Navy destroyer escort dispatched to Puerto Rico to observe unknown underwater contact which remained undetermined.

While I was serving in the U.S. Navy during the summer of 1980 or 1981, my ship, the USS W.S. Sims, FF 1059, was urgently dispatched to Puerto Rico. We were initially told that a Russian submarine was detected which was making suspicious manuevers in the vicinity of Puerto Rico. We spent several weeks with divers, scientists and other experts on board, attempting to determine what was going on. I was informed that the divers had remarked that this incident was another "Shag Harbor". I only learned many years later after leaving the U.S. Navy, through watching programs on cable like "Sightings" and other programs on The Learning Channel and Discovery Channel about Shag Harbor in Nova Scotia and also that UFOs were reported to be operating in the waters off Puerto Rico. We never were told anymore about the result of this mission other than that it had been determined that a natural phenomenon of undetermined origin had been studied, that was capable of mysteriously eluding detection at will only to reappear again. This went on for about 6 weeks if I remember correctly.

Underwater lights approached the ship from behind and hovered for around 20 minutes

This may or may not qualify for your database as the object was under water and not airborne.

I was stationed on a Navy ship that was underway in the Carribean Sea between Bermuda and Puerto Rico. I was standing aft lookout when I noticed a round set of lights behind the ship just under the water. The lights were red, green and white split equally at 120 degrees each with a total width of around 6 feet. We were towing a device at the time designed to detect nuclear submarines at long distances.(This device never heard whatever this was).

The light moved from just behind us at around 20 yards to the right then the left and then back as if to be surveying the towed cable that was running behind us. At the time my initial response was that I was not believing what I was seeing. After watching this for about 20 minutes I reported it to the bridge. No sooner had I reported it than it disappeared(almost as if it were listening to me). The report to the bridge brought down the Captain, the chief engineer and the operations officer but the light was long gone by the time they got their and they most likely wrote it off as another young sailor smoking dope on the fantail and seeing things. I never said anything about it after that night but it was definetly unidentified. It is interesting to note that this was in the Bermuda Triangle where so many other strange encounters have occured .

At that time I was a young seaman age 19. I was a fully qualifed lookout with 6 months experience at sea.

It is very possible that even more data is available from the official ships log. I can give all the relevant info if someone wants to call and followup on it.

Quite an erie event in my life especially for one who has always believed there were others out there somewhere.
