I pulsating light descending over the water in Botswana on the Okavango Delta

I don't know what I saw. I was standing on the deck of my tent that was inside the Okavango Delta in Botswana. I was admiring the night sky when I saw what I thought was a star but it began to move from the right going left. It moved slowly and started to pulsate. It was a white light that was oval in shape and it intermittently pulsated. It continued to move left and began to descend. There is nothing out where I was. The Delta is wetlands with animal life. There is nothing flying at night and there are no night boats.

There was no sound just sheer silence. I was trying to figure out what this object could be as it continued to descend toward the water. It suddenly vanished and I thought it was gone until seconds later I saw a strong, bright, pulsating light stationery over the water. It stayed that way for several minutes. It continued to be still and pulsate.

I finally left the deck and went back inside my tent. I was disturbed by this but could not tell you why.

I did not think to take a video of this as I kept trying to figure out what it could be. As I went back inside it was still intermittently pulsating. Without the pulsation you could not otherwise see anything.

I am not a nut case and this has never happened to me before. I have been reticent to even mention this but thought I should.

I simply want to know what it could have been since there is no aircraft in this area except bush planes that fly only during the day. There are no known lights in the area.

Second time i have seen the this in 2 years in same place.

I went out to switch off the generator and saw the light in the horizon. I then went to a better spot to make sure that it wasn't a star or planet. It was moving slowly left and right and gradually went lower,

I went inside house to get camera. When I got back it was too low in the horizon to see anymore.

This happened in 5 minutes time.

THIS wasn't the first time I saw this, in December 2013 my father in law, my wife and her sister saw the same occurence, it was dancing for about 8 mins and dropped down behind the tree line in the distance.

Triangular object over Botswana - Gaberone

A colleague and I were on business in Botswana and busy discussing Satelites in the night sky just before dinner. He had never seen one before. I decided to look for one to show him.

He asked what was the object just above the horizon. It was triangular in shape with Green, Yellow and Red lights. It was moving in all different directions and stoping now and then and just hovering. No sound was heard. It was not over town or over a suburban area.

After 45 minutes we went for dinner. When we came back, the object was gone.

My colleague and I were in Botswana, Gaborone for work. We were sitting around at the house we had rented for the duration of the stay waiting for dinner time, casually talking. We came upon the subject of satellites in the sky. I asked him whether he had ever seen one, to which he replied, "no."

We then told him what it should look like and we proceeded to look for one. I immediately looked up in the night sky above me, looking for a satellite for him. While looking he then asked me it the object he was looking at was one. I asked him where it was as I could not see anything moving directly above me. To which he stated that it was not above us but just above the horizon. Upon looking at the object it moved across the sky to the left, then suddenly to the right again and then upwards. Then stopped and just hovered.

At first I thought this might be a helicopter, but there was no sound. Secondly the speed the object was moving at was far to fast for a helicopter in the night to move and change directions as this object did. The object was triangular in shape and seemed to have red, green and yellow lights.

We kept looking at the object for a good 30 minutes. Then just a short distance from the object there was a flash of light every 30 seconds or so.

During the whole time we were looking at the object it would proceed moving in all different directions and sometimes hovering for a few seconds. During all this time we heard no sound.

Eventually we retired to the restaurant at the lodge we were staying at. Upon our return to the house, a good 2 hours later, the object was gone.
