strange phenomenom way up in the air.

While looking out of the window of our airplane, I saw an object going straight into the sky and kind of blowing a feather shape cloud up in the air. The shape was sharp lined.

After that, the feather shaped was "swirled" around 3 quarters of a circle around the object after which the object followed the shape in the opposite direction of where you usually see a white line behind a plane when high up. It was literally pushing the feather like shape direction Bermudas.

The object had a beige like color, but I could not see a shape or anything...just a beige "thing" following the feather like shape it just threw out.

It happened above the Atlantic Ocean between Bermudas and the Florida Coast line.

Because the windows of the airplane had to be closed, I think I was the only one seeing it, sitting on the right side of the plane above the wings.

It was a very strange experience.

Immobile, post-like object over deep water in the Atlantic Ocean.

I was aboard the Holland America cruise-ship, Eurodam. Most of that afternoon, I had been sitting in a deck chair, watching the sea through which we were passing about one hundred miles off Cuba's east coast, bound for the Bahama island of Grand Turk, where we would arrive the following morning.

All that day, Tuesday, I saw no floating debris, signs of marine life, or seaweed, until precisely 17:00 hours (5:00 p.m., ship's time). At first to the left of my perspective (I was looking due south), I observed an object that resembled the top of a post standing above the surface of the ocean, within thirty-five to forty feet out from the starboard side of our vessel. It stood three to four feet high, was approximately eighteen inches in diameter, seemed entirely round, with a tapering, rounded top; was uniformly featureless and dark in color, perhaps black; in shape, it somewhat resembled a human thumb. Most remarkably, the object was absolutely rooted in place, completely unmoving, as those driven solidly into the seabed, about two thousand feet under the Eurodam 's keel. The object was not afloat or bobbing with the waves, which instead broke around it, and never altered its unchanging position during the five or six seconds I kept it in view. For a moment, I suspected that it may have been the periscope of a passing submarine, but almost instantaneously dismissed such an interpretation, because no sub commander would so gravely risk his vessel by taking it within forty feet of the Eurodam's extremely turbulent wake. No other debris, etc. was observed on the surface of the sea the rest of that day. I forwarded a written description of the Tuesday sighting to our Captain, explaining my concern that the object may have been a navigational hazard of some kind. I am not sure that it entirely falls under the category of Unidentified Submerged Object, because at least part of it protruded above the water.

Bright sphereical light rising from ocean surface observed from cruise ship

On the evening of Wednesday April 21 , 2010, my wife and I had returned to our room aboard a ship cruising the Caribbean. At 11:40 p.m. we went out on to the balcony to enjoy the night air. We were passing to the east of the Dominican Republic after leaving St. Thomas earlier that afternoon.

Just after going out on the balcony I noticed a while spherical shaped light out on the water a couple of hundred yards out form the ship. I remarked to my wife, "What's that light out there"? She said, " It's a ship". But then I pointed out that there wasn't a ship to be seen and the light didn't look like a ship light. It was very intense, bright white, and there were no other lights around. Within seconds of saying this, the light began to rise up from the ocean surface. It reached a height of approximately 30 degrees above the horizon. After rising up the light appeared to be more spherical. It then began to perform acrobatic maneuvers. The object would move along a few seconds in one direction then dart back across the sky at a nearly 180 degree angle from the direction it was traveling. As we were seeing this we pointed the object out to a group on a balcony just above us. They confirmed that we were all seeing the same thing.

The object darted around in the sky for a few minutes then moved back down to the ocean surface. As it moved down, it appeared to be coming right at the ship. All of us watching the object kind of stepped back and had a moment wondering if the object was going to come all the way to the ship. As the object approached the ship, about 150 yards out, it went into the water. We could see the light under the water for a few seconds, and then it disappeared.

While watching the object my wife and I were talking to the other witnesses making comments like, "Are you seeing what I am seeing?", "Wow!" and variations of "Holy Crap!". We confirmed with each other that we had all seen the same thing.

There is no doubt we all saw the same thing. However, none of us had any idea what we had just seen. The object moved in ways I never seen a manmade flying object move before. It cut and darted faster than any bird I've ever seen. At times it moved so fast it was hard to track it moving across the sky. Then it would stop.

It was an incredible event. I have no idea what the object's origins or purpose was. I have no idea if it was man made or of some other origin. If it was man made, we have craft that can do some incredible maneuvering. That it went into the water and disappeared made it all the more incredible and all the more mysterious to me. I have no way of knowing other than the what I saw and the feeling I got while seeing it, but I'm pretty sure we all saw something not of human making. I could be wrong. Its possible we have some fantastic craft. But if I had to bet, what we saw did not come from humans of this time frame.

3 unusual, brightly lit craft seen to be using cloud as cover in mid-Atlantic.

Date & time: 18 January 2009 at 00.00 hours GMT-2 Vessel: Yacht - Kiwi Time, a 37 foot steel sloop with 3 aboard.

Position: 17°16´N, 44°W (mid-Atlantic) Heading: 278° Weather: Partly cloudy (+/- 25%), before moonrise (in the SE).

Notes: Navigation lights were off because there was no other shipping.

Report: I had just been relieved on watch and saw what I initially thought to be lightning contained within a small orb shaped cumulus cloud, approximately 5 nautical miles to the NNW. After 5-10 seconds I realized that it was not lightning because 1. it did not appear to be a rain cloud, 2. there was no arcing, 3. the light reverberated, unlike lightning which flashes intermittently, and 4. the sky around the cloud and adjacent clouds were not lit or affected in any way.

As the reverberating light in the cloud began to fade, a brightly lit craft emerged out of the eastern side of the cloud, accelerating slowly. The craft was undoubtedly the source of the light in the cloud, although now the craft emitted a constant, very bright, slightly bluish light. The craft was cigar shape from my perspective, therefore possibly circular. It was estimated to be 2-3 times longer than a 747 but, due to the distance and intensity of the light, I could see no markings.

After 5-10 seconds I saw a 2nd, identical craft approximately half a nautical mile to the east of the 1st craft. The 2nd craft was traveling slowly westward, i.e. towards the 1st craft. The 2nd craft seemed to appear suddenly, as if it had “switched on”, or it is possible that the 2nd craft had emerged from an adjacent cumulus cloud, but no light was seen within the cloud beforehand.

At about the same time, or a few seconds later, I saw a 3rd similar craft slightly further north than the 1st and 2nd. This craft was much dimmer than the 2 others. It was not a reflection on a cloud, as it was in open night sky.

The three craft accelerated together towards the northeast, slightly gaining altitude before disappearing behind a large bank of cloud. After several minutes observation they did not reappear from behind the bank of cloud.

These craft were definitely not aircraft, balloons or ordnance. At one stage it was thought possible that the 1st craft may have been a rocket from Cape Canaveral on a low trajectory from earth. But the appearance of a 2nd and 3rd craft, and the direction and distance of Florida, discount this suggestion.

The person relieving me from watch admitted to seeing the reverberating light in the cloud, but not the craft (he was not wearing his spectacles).

two orange lights seen over the Atlantic Ocean

UFO SIGHTING Sighting Date: May 7, 2007 Sighting Time: 00:10 – 00:15 AM (approx) Sighting Location: Atlantic Ocean, Aprox 80 Miles SE of New York City Aboard the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines “Liberty of the Seas” I had just left a show which ended about 12:10 AM (00:10). Knowing it was dark out I stepped out on the starboard side deck just to see what I could (often seeing lights of other ships in the distance in these conditions.) I presume the sky was hazy or partly cloudy as I could see only a few brighter stars. The moon was not visible from my vantage point (I do not know its phase or position on the date.) The horizon was very faintly visible as a just marginally brighter line above the sea. There were no visible lights on the horizon.

I don’t know the heading of the ship but according to the passenger update log it would probably be somewhere between 110 Degrees and 70 Degrees. The ship had sailed toward the southeast and then turned towards the north. The sighting occurred at about the point where the turn was (to be) made. No land lights were visible.

Three stars/lights did slightly stand out as they formed a triangle with two of the lights in a roughly horizontal line with the third lower and to the right. The separation of the top two lights was roughly 1 degree. The third light was roughly 2 degrees to the lower right. I am estimating these distances by mental reference to the size of a full moon – one half subtended degree. The center of this triangle was about 10-15 degrees above the horizon and about 45 degrees to the rear of the direction of travel of the ship.

As I looked at these three lights for about 10 seconds, I perceived that the upper left and lower right lights were faintly orange in color while the upper right one was white. The white one was a clear point, as would be expected when viewing a star, and as other stars visible at the time appeared. The two orange lights appeared slightly fuzzy. Focusing my attention to these orange lights I noticed that they actually appeared brighter in the center with areas to the sides that appeared to “flutter” and very rapidly change intensity from dim to almost as bright as the center. This total width of light was no more than one quarter degree. This same “fluttering” effect was not visible above or below the center of the light.

My first notion was that they appeared to be helicopters, in that you can see a center mass and perceive the rotor as a “fluttering” change in intensity to the sides. This is a description of the appearance only; there was no sound and there were no navigation or marker lights, and helicopters probably wouldn’t be glowing orange.

After seeing the three lights in position for no more than 10 seconds total, the two orange lights began moving to the left, relative to the white point star which did not move. The few other white point stars visible did not move either (the ship was not turning.) Over a total period of around 30 seconds that these orange lights moved, the top one moved roughly horizontally to a position roughly 45 degrees to the front of the ship. During that movement it did dip slightly in apparent altitude when it was about 90 degrees off the side of the ship. The other light also moved at the same time as the first but its movement was independent of the first. It first moved slightly down and to the left, then rose slightly and then continued horizontally to the left. When it was almost 90 degrees to the side of the ship it dipped slightly and then rose to the same height as the first light. It “followed” the first light for a second of two and then dropped slightly, all the while moving to the left.

When these lights both reached the position approximately 45 degrees to the front of the ship they both faded out and I lost further sight of them.

To reiterate, I could not tell the exact atmospheric conditions during this sighting but there were maybe 25 visible stars in my field of vision. These were white sharp points of light that did not move relative to the ship or to each other during the time I saw the orange lights, which did move both relative to the visible stars and to each other. Although they did move together and at the same time, the movement of the orange lights varied in speed and in altitude relative to each other, the other visible stars and to the horizon.

They were stationary for about 10 seconds and moved for about 30 seconds before disappearing. The lower of the two lights moved a greater distance than the top one and therefore moved faster as they both started moving at the same time and disappeared from view at the same time with about the same distance separation.

Age: 67, no health problems Vision acuity: 20/20 corrected with glasses, no colorblindness or astigmatism Physical condition at time of sighting: tired but relaxed Mental condition at time of sighting: no conflicts; finished one drink ½ hour prior.

Outside air temperature/humidity: approx 55 degrees/unknown Ship speed/air speed: approx 18 knots/unknown

Bright light, changing colors, sitting still in the sky for 3-4 minutes and then moving slowly and disapperaing in front of our plane.

This observation was made sitting in a Boeing 757 (Continental Airlines), flying from Newark, NJ, to Stockholm, Sweden. Our altitude was 35,000 ft. Around 3:30 (UTC) I observed a bright light at 10 o'clock. The light was at a somewhat higher altitude and was seemingly sitting still in the sky. First I thought it was another airplane heading toward us with its lights on. I then noticed that the brightness of the light was slowly fluctuating and also changing colors from white (clear)-red-blue-green-white. No flashing lights (like on an airplane) were observed and no shape of the object. I took a digital picture of the light. Since it was dark outside the exposure time was long, so the camera moved while I was taking the picture. This caused the light to "draw" an irregular line on the picture, which makes it possible to see on the picture that the brightness and colors of the object were shifting continuosly. Less than one minute after I took the picture our plane started to climb up to 39,000 ft and changing the course more to the right (away from the object). This made the object "move" to a position at 9 o'clock, where it stayed for a minute or two. Then it started to move slowly to the right until it disappeared in front of our plane. Still at i higher altitude. It was impossible to see how far away from the plane this object was, but I am sure it was a few miles. This happened almost exactly two hours before landing at Stockholm Airport (7:30 local time) and the position was due west of the Farøe Islands, which I saw from the airplane approx. 30 minutes after the observation.

I have been working on the railroad for many years as Locomotive Engineer and Road Foreman. The last number of years I have been working in a Quality Department, inspecting and examening different components and assemblies.

Date of sighting: 03-25-2006 Location of sighting: 705 miles of the coast of Miami Fla., and 600 miles from the Bahamas’ Islands, aboard a cruise ship headed for New York.

Discription of sighting: While aboard a cruise ship, the ship was stopped due to a man overboard alert at approximately 1:00am. The engines were all stopped and my daughter and I were on the 5th floor, out on the balcony of our room.

We were looking out to sea for any sighs of coastguard help that may be on the way for rescue. This was approximately 2 and ½ hours after the engines had stopped. The waters were calm with little wind.

Looking out on the horizon there was a very small amber colored light that seemed stationary. I pointed this light out to my daughter, and commented that this may be a boat or some vehicle to assist with the search and rescue.

As we were watching this light it changed from an amber dot of light to a white tower shaped light. At the same time it started to move rapidly towards the ship. Within a minute it traveled from the horizon to 100-300 feet from the side of the ship and stopped. The was no noise emanating from the light source. The water however was churning and upset. The engines of the ship were still at all stop.

The light remained aside the ship, still and hovering for about 40 seconds, then was gone from our view.

We remained in this area for 14 hours. There was an coastguard airplane that flew by several times circling the boat, from far off. This airplane was nothing like what I saw earlier.

When morning came I went up on deck and spoke with some other passengers, and they were talking about the man who had jumped overboard, and I found no-one who mentioned this strange occurrence.

I would like to know if there were others that saw what my daughter and I saw.

Thank you for the call and the report!!

What was the date of the sighting, please? You indicate both May 25, and March 25 (in the body of the report).

Did you ask any of the other passengers whether they had seen the light? If so, what did they say, please? Also, did you ask any of the crew members whether the event had been noted by them, and perhaps entered into the ship's log?

Thanks, again, for sharing the information with our Center!

Cordially,

Peter Davenport, Director
National UFO Reporting Center
Seattle, WA

((RESPONSE FROM WITNESS))

Hi,

The date of the sighting was May 25, 2006. I did not ask any crew if this had been logged since the event centered around the tragedy of a man jumping overboard. We were off the ship soon afterward. A special note: Since we were legally bound to stay in the vicinity of where the man jumped, we were going to be 14 or so hours late arriving in New York. We were able to make brief phone call to home, but this was monitored, and no details of why we were going to be late were to be given over the phone at that time. Funny?

Pilot report of a bright light

June 25, 2001. 21:10 ET. 09:10. I am a corporate pilot, at that time we were flying between DIX (aviation aid)NC, to Mrlin intersection (aviation aid)in the Bahamas, atlantic route 1 (AR1), to Fort Lauderdale FL. at an altitude of 39000 Fts. About 160 NM east to the Jacksonville coast FL, in the Atlantic Ocean, heading SW (210ºstm), we saw, at the begining, like a cream color, small oval, moving east to west, heading (110ºstm) about 25º up of my left horizon, and making light curves and little circles in an up parabolic track. Then stop moving about 80º up. At that moment the cream color oval switched to a massive super bright white light (hallogen light) like the sheriff helicopter lite. And just the light started moving like searching. I could see the shadow of my left arm inside the cockpit (weird!!!). I saw a giant cloud forming around the lower and the upper side of the light (like a mushroon upside down). Suddenly the light turned off, but the big cloud remained there loosing the bright. We flow for an hour and ten minutes more at 300 Kts, (about 300 miles) and still we could see the cloud. We couldn´t see any kind of body object, or object aproximation because of the super bright of the light. I read the

NUFORC Note:

Nuforc note in all the sighting reports that mentioned the launched of an ICBM from the Kennedy Space Center, but when I saw the light I was over the Atlantic Ocean and I saw it starting from the deep east side(Atlantic Ocean). As a reference, my airway (AR1), was like if you draw a straight line between Beaufort Inlet NC. to Fort lauderdale Fl. From this perspective the KSC appears to the west side of my way.

Chased object with are jets and it covered about 180 miles on radar in 1.5 sec's

Now that i'm out of the navy i can tell this story and you can do what you want with it. I was an F-14 pilot on CVN-65 out off norfolk VA and we were flying standard mig cap which is what we call fleet protection two or more planes fly a set course around the group and check all air and surface contacts that my pose a problem to the group. It was about 00:35 and myself and my wingman were at angels 12 (12,000asl) and had radar set for 100 miles and were at a heading of 226 when my back seater told me to check my 10 as i looked out i said that i saw nothing he replyed back yes there is I asked my wingman if his radar had any contacts he had one bearing at 206 at angels 13 but it stayed in the corner of the screen as we turned towards it it moved just enough to stay in the out most reach of the radar. So we made a tactical turn and lit em up and headed for it and the damn thing went (on the radar screen)180 miles across the screen thats the radar coverage set at that time in about 1.5 sec's we where shocked to say the least! So we landed back at the carrier and were debriefed for an hour on what happend i never took any stock in to UFO'S until this happened. But i can tell you one thing for sure we would have never been able to get near it and if the US has any craft like it i'm not aware of them !!!!!!!

Summary : During a flight from Boston to Amsterdam a strange point of light could be seen for almost the whole flight.

When flying from Boston to Amsterdam on a Northwest DC-10, my girfriend and I noticed a strange light off to the lower port side of the airplane at a distance of about 2 to 3 miles. At first I thought that the light could be a reflection from one of the navigation lights of the DC-10. After watching the light for about an hour we decided that that wasn't the case. It would change position and color. We could simply tell that it was some sort of object. After a while, we would just take a look out the window every 20 minuets or so. Every time we looked out it was still out there. At one point we asked another passenger and a steward to take a look and they were amazed as well. The light dissapeared when we started to overfly some shipping, probably about 200 miles from Ireland. After the flight we joked about the "UFO" that we saw, but we were still left with an unsettling feeling. I am a private pilot and I have seen nav light reflections and air traffic at night, this light was not even similar.

P-3 Orion Encounter

We were on an exercise one night tracking an American Sub, when our In-Flight Technician (IFT) called the cockpit (Flight) reporting "traffic 9 o'clock Parallel," to which FLIGHT told him to "keep an eye on it." We all found out later that our IFT was reporting what he thought was a starboard side navigational light (green) from another aircraft heading the same direction as ourselves.

A few minutes later, the IFT keyed the mic and was gonna suggest that FLIGHT change course as the Green light appeared to be getting closer, but he really got out was "Holy (expletive)!!! What the hell is that thing? Flight, you guys see it?".

All this sudden commotion on the intercom got me and the other Acoustic operator to look up from our stations. Looking up the "tube" (which we affectionately called the aircraft interior), we saw the flight station was flooded with a brilliant light shining through every window from above. I got up from our station and made my way up the Tube towards the cockpit.

Both pilots and the flight engineer (FE) were leaning forward trying to look up. Everybody was kind of panicky and yelling back and forth in the flight station when the brilliant light stopped, and the pilot said "look at that! look at that!!." The object had moved from above us to about a hundred yards off of our port wing. That was the first I actually got to get a look at it.

It was about 50 feet long, cylindrical, and green light all over. The surface was smooth, or at least I couldn't make out any markings or features.

The second FE came up to the flight station with this high tech camera that we used for intel gathering. He told me to move, so he could get some good shots of it. I made my way aft to the port overwing exit so i could see the object. It just stayed off our wing for maybe 2 or 3 minutes then shot off and up faster than anything I have ever seen. It went from about 100 yards to out of sight in just a couple seconds.

Our Navigator/Communications officer (NAVCOM or NAV) had been on the radio with Red Crown (An AEGIS Cruiser acting as the air traffic control for the exercise area) who asked that we loiter on station and see if we could re-establish contact. We remained on station for another half hour and were told to RTB (return to base).

When we landed, two white government vans took all of us to the briefing/debriefing center. We were interviewed one at a time. Our interviews taped. Our film confiscated... (two of the guys had their own personal cameras and had snapped some photos too). Our mission tapes confiscated. We were told to not discuss this flight and made to sign an agreement to that effect.

Well, we thought this was all too cool, so we get back to the barracks and my buddy, who had been the radar operator on the flight, and myself started spilling our guts. "We saw a freakin UFO!!!" The following day, our crew was called into the CO's office, he informed us that he was hearing "stories" and reiterated the fact that we were "NOT to discuss it." So with the exception of a few hushed story swappings, here and there... we did.

It happened on board the USS John F Kennedy

Listen I'm not a UFO kind of person, hell I don't even believe in UFO's but I feel that I owe the UFO community this report.

About twenty years ago while serving on board the USS carrier JFK USS CV-67, myself and seven to eight other shipmates were having some fun on the carrier's flight deck, we were on the way back to Norfolk VA, and most of the aircrafts already departed the ship back to their home bases, it's a common practice for fighter jets to fly back home.

Anyway, while on the flight deck on a very bright night an oval shiny UFO appeared out of no where, it was green yellow and bright. It did not look like anything I have ever seen in the skies, when it appeared it looked like it was right on top of us but very high in the night sky, it stood there for about 40 to 50 seconds as if it was watching us.

Myself and the others were just speechless, none of us said a word all we did was look up in amazement without a sound then an amazing sight happened, as it came out of nowhere it left the same way only this time we witnessed how it all happened.

In a fraction of a second there was what appea! red to be a rapture in space, it looked like a door way to a different place in space, and just like that, the bright green yellow object was sucked in that door way and vanished it happened very very fast but all of us could see that, once the object was sucked in, the rapture closed behind the UFO.

I swear this is true and I have no reason to make it up I just thought I share this event with the rest of the world. I don't know why it took me twenty years to do so but it did, believe or not I don't really care, but I'm sure of my event and this is not bull story, it really happened.

The craft was visible at different positions for about 20 seconds at a distance of 3 to 4 miles to 4 to 500 feet.

While transiting a vessel across the ocean from Abijan, Ivory Coast to Port of Spain, Trinidad, we noticed an object over the starbord bow, hovering at the horizon app.

3 miles distant, the object moved quickly to the port bow horizon hovered there for a couple of seconds, the quickly went directly in front of the vessel, hovering at a distance of about 3 or 4 miles. The object then quickly went those 3 or 4 miles directly in front of the boat, hovering at a hight of 4 or 5 hundred feet for a couple of seconds, then took off the the north at a speed unheard of, totally without a sound.

The weather was clear skies and no wind, we had a 3 or 4 foot swell from the SE all the way across. This was the first of our sightings on this crossing and the only one witnessed by all three of us. The other sighting was described in an earlier posting.

All sightings were documented on the log and the captain was informed.

About halfway between British Virgin Islands and North Carolina, on sailing vessels, at night, star size light zigzagging at great spee

I was on watch alone aboard a recreational 50' sailing boat, coming from the British Virgin Islands to North Carolina (we were in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle) in 1986 or 87. I'd have to check records. The other two crew members were asleep below deck.

It was after midnight I think and I suddenly noticed what I thought was a satellite moving across the sky. I say satellite because it looked like a star but was moving past them all above me from southwest to northeast. I just assumed that is what a satellite looks like.

Then, all of a sudden, after about 10 seconds of me observing it moving past the stars (from my perspective), it sped up to a tremendous speed but in a zigzag fashion. It took very sharp turns at quite sharp angles, probably three or four times, each time over distances that equalled the distance of its initial slow straight line journey that I first observed. It then disappeared into the stars. It appeared to have travelled huge distances at great speeds and completed fantastical sharp turns.

I never told anyone until years later.

Flashing lighted object observed by an E-3A AWACS crew over the Mid-Atlantic

Midway between Canada and Iceland at 31000 feet altitude we observed an object that was continually flashing from red to green to white. I would have estimated the initial contact to be about 75 miles off the nose of our aircraft and at approximately the same altitude. We were unable to pick up this object on our inflight radar...which had a range of over 500 miles. The object stayed at off our nose for about 20 minutes before rising to what I would have guessed to be over 70000 feet in altitude. It then came to a position almost directly over our aircraft. It stayed in this position for about ten minutes before it took off in an easterly direction at what I would have estimated to be over 70000 feet in altitude. I was the pilot on that particular flight. At the time, I had over 3000 hours of flight-time, mostly in jet aircraft. There were 17 other people on the aircraft who witnessed the same object. I did not learn of your reporting facility until I started listening to Art Bell. I'm sorry my report could not have been more timely.

NUFORC NOTE : Subsequent email to witness :

Dear <>,

Thank you very much for the fascinating report! The olde reports I find to be every bit as interesting as the more recent ones. The reports from professional pilots are particularly interesting, and useful.

Thanks again for sharing the information with our Center! Please pass our contact information along to other pilots, so that they will be able to preserve the information surrounding any sightings they may have had.

NUFORC NOTE : Subsequent reponse from witness

The type of aircraft I was flying was an E-3A AWACS aircraft. This was a military aircraft with airborne radar and surveillance capabilities. It has a crew of 17, all of whom witnessed the same object. We should have been able to pick the object up on our in-flight radar which was fully functional at the time we saw the object. In reference to your second question, we tried to make a report when we landed in Iceland, but noone in our debriefing knew how or whom to report such an incident. I hope this info helps. I find your reports on the Art Bell show very fascinating. I wish I knew about his show 15 years ago. Take care now.

During an ISE enroute from Norfolk, Va. to San Juan P.R. aboard USS JOHN KING DDG-3 in the spring of 1982, I oserved along w/ the rest of the bridge crew,(6) six discs or circles beneath the water.

As JOHN KING approached, I oserved a green glow up ahead, similar to the glow of stirred algea, but brighter, The circles were arranged like the six dots on a dice.

With no alteration in course, JOHN KING passed over the three on the right. The glow illuminated the bottom of the ship, which drafted approx. 20 ft. and the uniform diameter of each of the circles was greater than the length of JOHN KING, approx. 450 ft. It was a sea state 1 moonless warm clear night.

As QMOW, I dutifully logged exact time, lat. and long, and a full description in the SHIP'S DECK LOG.

The Captain was not woke w/ regard to this and the OOD called it algea- six perfect circles in two rows of three- you decide.

After noting a communicaitons failure, we observed a large glowing sphere hovering over the ship.

This encounter occurred in 1971, while aboard the aircraft carrier, USS John F. Kennedy CVA-67 (now CV-67) in the Bermuda Triangle, southeast of Florida. I was assigned to the communications department of the Kennedy and had been in this section about a year. The ship was returning to Norfolk, VA after completing a two week operational readiness exercise (ORE) in the Caribbean. We were to stand down for 30 days, after arriving in Norfolk, Virginia, to allow the crew to take leave and visit family before deploying to the Mediterranean for six months. I was on duty in the communications center. My task was to monitor eight teletypes printing the "Fleet Broadcasts". On the top row were four teletypes each printing messages from four different channels. On the bottom row were four more doing the exact same thing except the signal was carried on different frequencies. If one of the primary receivers started taking "hits" I would be able to retrieve the message from the bottom one. I also notified Facilities Control of any hits so they could tune the receivers. On the other side of the compartment(room) was the NAVCOMMOPNET (Naval Communications Operations Network). This was the Ship to Shore circuit with the top teletype being the receive and the bottom as the send (known as a duplex circuit). Next to this was the Task Group Circuit for ship to ship communications (task group operations or TGO). It was in the evening, about 20:30 (8:30 PM) and the ship had just completed an eighteen hour "Flight Ops". I had just taken a message off one of the broadcasts and turned around to file it on a clip board. When I turned back to the teletypes the primaries were typing garbage. I looked down to the alternates which were doing the same. I walked a few feet to the intercom between us and the Facilities Control. I called them and informed them of the broadcasts being out. A voice replied that all communications were out. I then turned and looked in the direction of the NAVCOMMOPNET and saw that the operator was having a problem. I then heard the Task Group operator tell the watch officer that his circuit was out also. In the far corner of the compartment was the pneumatic tubes going to the Signal bridge (where the flashing light and signal flag messages are sent/receive). There is an intercom there to communicate with the Signal Bridge and over this intercom we heard someone yelling "IT IS GOD! IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!". A moment later we heard another voice yelling. "There is something hovering over the ship!" As we looked up, we saw a large, glowing sphere. Well it seemed large, however, there was no point of reference. That is to say, if the sphere were low; say 100 feet above the ship, then it would have been about two to three hundred feet in diameter. If it were say 500 feet about the ship then it would have been larger. At arms length it was the size of a beach ball. It made no sound that I could hear. The light coming from it wasn't too bright, about half of what the sun would be. It pulsated from yellow to orange slowly. We didn't get to looked at for more than about 20 seconds because General Quarters (Battle stations) was sounding and the Communication Officer was in the passageway telling us to get back into the Comm Center. We returned and stayed there (that was out battle station). We didn't have much to do because all the communication was still out. After about 20 minutes, the teletypes started printing correctly again. We stayed at General Quarters for about another hour, then secured. I didn't see or hear of any messages going out about the incident. Over the next few hours, I talked to a good friend that was in CIC (combat information center) who was a radar operator. He told me that all the radar screens were just glowing during the time of the incident. I also talked to a guy I knew that worked on the Navigational Bridge. He told me that none of the compasses were working and that the medics had to sedate a boatswains mate that was a lookout on the signal bridge. I figured this was the one yelling it was God. It was ironic that of the 5,000 men on a carrier, that only a handful actually saw this phnomenon. This was due to the fact that flight Ops had just be completed a short time before this all started and all the flight deck personnel were below resting. It should be noted that there are very few places where you can go to be out in the open air aboard a carrier. From what I could learn, virtually all electronic components stopped functioning during the 20 minutes or so that what ever it was hovered over the ship. The two Ready CAPs (Combat Air Patrol), which were two F-4 Phantoms that are always ready to be launched, would not start. I heard from the scuttlebut (slang - rumor mill) that three or four "men in trenchcoats" had landed, and were interviewing the personnel that had seen this phenomena. I was never interviewed, maybe because no one knew that I had seen it. A few days latter, as we were approaching Norfolk, the Commanding and Executive Officers came on the closed circuit TV system that we had. They did this regularly to address the crew and pass on information. During this particular session the Captain told us how well we did on the ORE and about our upcoming deployment to the Mediterranean. At the very end of his spiel, he said "I would like to remind the crew, that certain events that take place aboard a Naval Combatant Ship, are classified and are not to be discussed with anyone without a need to know". This was all the official word I ever received or heard of the incident.

I was in the Navy on board a destroyer going on a 6 month cruise to the Med. there were three ships in our task group and there were many witnesses but cant say who they are except me and my brother plus the CO. of my ship.

Someone noticed a light in the clear moonless night sky, It was cigar shape and appeared as if it was a fluorescent light, but hugh… Approx. 45 degree angle from horizon and all I can say about the altitude was it eas approx. 1 mile high. No sound....after about 45 minutes it left with incredable speed up and at somewhat of an horizontal flight...No aircraft around us and the Captain was baffled at this (phenomenia) also I had never gave much thought to UFO's until that night and now I always look in the sky for another possible look.........

I was looking at the star`s and one of them appeared to move , then stop dead. I watched this for a while and became convinced it was tracking the ship. It would stop and after a while it would move again. It moved so fast and stopped so fast, even then I knew there was not any aircraft that could do that. When I tried to discuss it with the 2 G.I.`s they wouldn`t say anything .
